Hey everyone it's Pastor Oz from Anchor Baptist Church and I wanted to make another soul winning tip for you all today and the tip is this focus on Jesus when you are preaching the gospel. You know I've seen a lot of soul winners over the years do a really good job explaining how we're all sinners and how because we've all sinned we all deserve the punishment of hell and the fact that salvation is a free gift that it's not of works that it's not something that you can earn by doing good deeds or abstaining from sin and that salvation is eternal life which means that once you're saved you're always saved you can never lose that salvation. Oftentimes I've seen soul winners miss the most crucial element of presenting the gospel and that is the gospel itself the life of Jesus the death and burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the book of Romans chapter 1 says I'm not ashamed of the gospel of Christ it is the power of God unto salvation and so the story of the gospel of Jesus Christ is where the power of your presentation lies and so you want to make sure you spend as much time as necessary explaining and preaching about the life death and burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Now for me living in Oklahoma in the Bible Belt here most people are very familiar with the story of the gospel so I don't necessarily show a verse to prove every single point that I bring up about Jesus Christ but I do ask the person if they believe the things that I tell them and if they had heard those things before and if I sense there's any doubt or unclearness or unbelief in their heart about one of the things I bring up then of course I do show them a verse but you know I usually start at the virgin birth itself explaining that Jesus was born of a virgin and because of that he had no earthly father his real father was God in heaven and so Jesus was special in the sense that when he was born he was 100% man like us but also 100% God in the flesh and because that Jesus Christ is God that is what enabled him to live his entire life sinless and so already just in that very short you know explanation you're getting into very important doctrines the virgin birth the fact that Jesus Christ is the Son of God the fact that he is God and the fact that of course he is sinless you know I explained really quickly some of the miracles he did and the preaching that he did and how he was hated of the Jews and how they lied about him they put him on the cross they mocked him they spit in his face they plucked out his beard you know they tortured him physically they ended up putting the nails through his hands and through his feet and ended up killing him on the cross and it's usually at this point that I asked the person do you know why Jesus had to die on the cross and I'll explain it to the person that he had to die for our sins and you know I'll get into the death of Jesus Christ I mentioned from Acts 2 31 that he went to hell but he didn't stay there that he rose again physically on the third day and I make sure that the person understands all those points and quite honestly I gave it way shorter in this video than I do out soul winning but you like I said you want to make sure you spend lots of time on the gospel portion of your gospel presentation god bless have a great day
