(Disclaimer: This transcript is auto-generated and may contain mistakes.) Hello, it's Pastor Steven Anderson from Faithful War Baptist Church in Tempe, Arizona. Today I want to talk about Psalm 33 12 where the Bible reads, Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, and the people whom he hath chosen for his inheritance. Now I've grown up my whole life hearing that scripture preached in regard to the United States saying that if our God is the Lord, we will be blessed. And I agree with that because I think that any nation whose God is the Lord is going to be blessed and any nation whose God is not the Lord is not going to be blessed. Let me read the verse for you one more time. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, and the people whom he hath chosen for his inheritance. Now with that in mind, let's look at 1 Peter chapter 2 verses 9 and 10 because a lot of people will claim that the nation of Israel in the Middle East that they are blessed and that they are the chosen people. But let me ask you this question, is the Lord their God or do they have a different God? Well the Bible says that whosoever denieth the Son, meaning Jesus, the same hath not the Father, but he that acknowledges the Son hath the Father also. So the Bible says that if you don't have the Son, you don't have the Father. So if they don't believe in Jesus Christ, then they are not worshipping God the Father, then they are worshipping another God. So their God is not the Lord. They have a false God. And the Bible says that in order to be blessed, in order to be the chosen people according to Psalm 33, 12, you know the Lord has to be your God. Listen to 1 Peter chapter 2 verses 9 and 10. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Talking about the light of the Gospel. It says in verse 10, which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God, which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. We in the New Testament as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are the chosen people of God. We make up that holy nation. Now I don't believe that the United States is a holy nation today because our nation has by and large turned away from the Lord God. But we as believers, no matter what our nationality or ethnicity, we make up that chosen generation, that holy nation of 1 Peter 2, 9 and 10. And this is exactly what Jesus told the Jews in his day when he said the kingdom of God shall be taken from you and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. The Jews today, the Israelites over there in the Middle East, their God is not the Lord. Therefore they are not blessed and therefore they are not chosen.
