(Disclaimer: This transcript is auto-generated and may contain mistakes.) Hello everybody, it's me, MrTahl23, back to the third video. This is another video on the basic doctrines of the Bible. Today I want to talk about the subject of the Rapture and the Resurrection. So I believe in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Then one day the Lord will return from heaven at which time there shall be a Rapture and a Resurrection. The dead in Christ who are waiting in heaven and the alive saints remaining upon the earth will all be brought into heaven with a new body to be with the Lord forevermore. Jesus promised that those who believe would be raised up at this time. He said in John chapter 6 verse 40, And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one who seeth the Son and believeth on him, may have everlasting life, and I will raise him up for the last day. When Jesus also ascended into heaven, two angels standing by the apostles promised them of Christ's return. In Acts chapter 1 verse 11 it says, Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. One day Jesus Christ shall return in the clouds, descending down from heaven in a similar manner to the time in which he was taken up into heaven at his ascension. At that time all people of the earth shall see the Lord, as is written in Revelation chapter 1 verse 7, Behold, he cometh with clouds, and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him. And all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him, even so Amen. When Jesus returns in the clouds, the Scriptures teach that something will take place which is commonly referred to as the Rapture. That term means to be caught up, that is that both the dead in Christ and those which are still alive who are saved will be caught up into the clouds at the second coming. It's written in 1 Thessalonians chapter 4 verse 14 to 17, For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, That we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trump of God, and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with him in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord. This is described also in a sermon by Jesus Christ in which he describes the signs preceding his second coming when he returns in the clouds to gather his people together. It's written in Matthew chapter 24 verse 29 to 31, Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven and the powers of the heaven shall be shaken, and then shall appear the sign of the sun of man in heaven, and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the sun of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory, and he shall send his angels with the great sound of a trumpet and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. What exactly takes place at the rapture is described elsewhere in the Bible. I know from the record of 1 Thessalonians 4 that there is first a resurrection of the saints who are asleep or dead physically in Christ, but there's also a bodily catching up of the saints who never die, but who endure until the end until the time of Christ's coming. At that point our bodies are changed and we finally experience what the Bible calls the redemption of our bodies. Is written in 1 Corinthians chapter 15 verse 51 to 54, Behold, I show you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump. For the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, death is swallowed up in victory. So when Christ returns, our flesh and blood bodies are changed into a spiritual body, like unto Christ at his own resurrection. For given an immortal and an incorruptible body in a single moment, before being taken up into heaven to be with Christ. When the rapture is, is unknown. Jesus said in Matthew chapter 24 verse 36, But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. Although there are certain signs preceding the coming of Christ, as described in Matthew 24, Luke chapter 21, and Mark chapter 13, the exact day is unknown to all of mankind. Therefore we wait with hope unto the coming of the Lord. As the Bible says in Romans chapter 8 verse 23, And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit. Even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. We are waiting for the day which Christ cometh in the clouds, at which point the day of the Lord shall begin, and the world shall be judged for their iniquity. But we will be given a new body, and will live forever with God, with our new spiritual bodies. So thank you everybody for watching, and goodbye.
