(Disclaimer: This transcript is auto-generated and may contain mistakes.) Hello everybody, it's me MrToll23 back in the video. In this video I want to continue the series on the basic doctrines in the Bible. In this video I want to talk about the fact that there is only one God. Although there are many religions out there which believe in and worship different deities and things which they call God, we believe that there is only one true God. The same God that created all things who alone deserves worship, who is called the Lord or Jehovah. In 1 Corinthians chapter 8 verse 6 it is written, But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom all things, and we in him, and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. The Scriptures leave no room for any other God but the God who is testified in the Holy Scriptures. It is written, God said, in Isaiah chapter 44 verse 6, Thus saith the Lord, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts, I am the first and I am the last, and beside me there is no God. In the previous chapter, in Isaiah 43, God had said that there was no God formed before him or after him. The Lord has always been God, the only God, and always will be God, the only God. It is written in Psalm chapter 90, Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. The God that we serve always has been God and always will be God. He is eternal and everlasting, the Bible says. He is above all things and in supreme authority, as it is written in Ephesians chapter 4 verse 6, One God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in you all. First Timothy chapter 2 verse 5 says, For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. Therefore since we are told that the Lord alone is God, and that there is no other God, that he is the first and the last, and he is the beginning and the ending, the Bible says, that there is no God before him or after him, we worship the Lord God alone. We believe that the Lord is the creator of the heavens and the earth, and that he is the King of kings and the Lord of lords, as the Bible calls him. Jesus said unto the Father in John chapter 17 verse 3, And this is life eternal, that they might know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent. There are many things out there which may be called God by man. Man may worship different deities and exalt things that are creations as God. However they are not gods. The Lord is the only true God according to Jesus Christ. So all other gods which men worship are the inventions of humankind. As it is written in Psalm 135, The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of men's hands. They have mouths, but they speak not. Eyes have they, but they see not. They have ears, but they hear not. Neither is there any breath in their mouths. The Lord is not an idol, it is not an image made by men's hands like the gods of the heathen. Other gods of the heathen are the host of heaven, like the sun, the moon, and the stars which were all created by God according to Genesis 1, and he commanded us not to worship these things. Or it could be mighty men of the past who have been exalted as gods. But the Lord commands to give him alone worship, for he is the only true God. It is the first commandment in which God said, I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Therefore we believe in and serve and worship only one God, who is the Lord, the everlasting God, who is from everlasting and to everlasting. There is one God, but the Bible tells us that this one God exists in three persons. In 1st John chapter 5 verse 7 it says, For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost, and these three are one. This is what is called the Trinity, that there is a singular God who exists as three persons, who are equally divine, who have together existed from everlasting to everlasting, and are together one God. We know from the Scriptures that the Father is God, but it is also true that the Son of God Jesus Christ is also God, and I will discuss this more in the following video on the deity of Christ. Thank you everybody for watching, and goodbye.
