seat in front of you be in titus chapter one titus one the bible reads to titus the bible reads to titus holy temperate this witness is true good work reprobate brother robert will you pray for us amen the title of my sermon tonight is not self-willed not self-willed there's a qualification for a pastor and one of those qualifications is found here in first excuse me titus chapter one verse seven where the bible reads for a bishop which is a pastor must be blameless as the steward of god not self-willed and that's really the qualification that I'm going to be focusing on tonight and I am going to go to first peter and talk about some of the different offices that are in the new testament that our church believes are legitimate offices in the new testament and the bible doesn't specifically spell out that evangelist is an office necessarily but people that would reason that it's not an office really don't have a leg to stand on because when the deacons are first introduced and acts does it call them deacons does it actually say hey we're going to ordain some deacons does it say that well I'm going to show you that it doesn't but people just like take these logical leaps or illogical leaps of things and you know that whole not self-willed that is a qualification if someone is self-willed and they want to be a pastor and they're willing to just do anything and cut any corner just because they have this desire to be a pastor so they can I don't know be somebody or they feel like that they have to have this title no matter what and they're willing to do anything they can to get it it's just it's a bad look and it's very obvious when people are trying to do it and they might not see it but it's a lust that they have that's not a godly thing and when someone is trying so hard to just get this office and they're willing to just subvert the qualifications or they're willing to rebel and do something rebellious in order to get the rubber stamp in order to get the ordination and they're not willing to go and do it the right way then they're self-willed it's just that simple so keep your well we're probably not going to turn back here but I want you to turn to 1 Timothy chapter 3 where the qualifications are in 1 Timothy because these are the qualifications for the bishop in Titus chapter 1 and in 1 Timothy chapter 3 it actually says something that seems to be the opposite of this and it makes where someone could kind of twist the scriptures and say well actually it's a good thing to desire to be a bishop and it is look what it says in 1 Timothy 3.1 it says this is a true saying if a man desire the office of a bishop he desireth a good work well that seems to be like it would be contradicting like what's wrong with wanting to be a pastor what's wrong with being wanting to be a bishop it says in 1 Timothy 3.1 if a man desire the office of a bishop he desireth a good work I agree with you I think it is something that if you have this you know a sincere heart and like your heart is in the right place as to why you want to be a bishop why you want to be a pastor I think it is a good thing it says the Bible says he desireth a good work but see you're trying to do a good work you're not trying to break the rules and cut corners and willing to do anything to get that ordination that's where it becomes a lust for the ordination now if you're desiring the office of a bishop to do something good that's different but if it's just so that you can you know have something that says I am the pastor now and so that you can just start whatever you want to start and do whatever you want to do and you just lust after that title and look I've seen this happen a lot of times just in my short time in the ministry and a lot of people that try to do the subverting and trying to get the office of a bishop or the office of a pastor or elder or whatever you want to call it and you know so these seem to be conflicting though but if you just really look at the motive that's really what tells you and the way that someone goes about doing it because there's a lot of people that are just not qualified if you get divorced you're not qualified anymore to be a bishop and that doesn't mean that you're thrown in the trash or you're lesser than any other Christian or anything like that it just means that you're not qualified to be a bishop or a pastor anymore because if a man doesn't know how to rule his own house how can he rule the church of God if you can't tell someone how to have a successful marriage because you failed in your marriage then you can't give people advice I mean look I understand people can recover from that and have a good marriage I'm not saying that it's not possible but it's just like you know people will look at that example and saw that you got divorced and then they're going to be like well you got divorced and it worked out for you well why can't I do the same thing it's just it's just one of those things so there's just there are things that are subjective in the qualifications I will admit that but there are things that it say when it says must be that is it must be okay so when it says must be blameless must be as the steward of God not self willed you know in Titus 1 7 and if it says must be the husband of one wife so that's like a qualifying thing so but when it says things like you have to have a good reputation of them that are without that is something that you need to start out your qualification but how would that make sense that years later you still have to have a good reputation of them that are without did Jesus still have a good reputation of them that are without three years into his ministry no everybody hated him and tried to crucify him so when you start out yeah that's the starting qualification that's not something that you have to maintain as a qualification do you see what I'm saying so some of the some of those things are subjective but people say no you still have to good have a good reputation of them that are without the whole time you're a pastor it's like if you're preaching the word of God people are going to hate you people are going to hate what you're saying people are going to hate you know did they love Paul or do they try to kill him almost every place he went is he being lowered down in a basket by the by the you know the people so that the soldiers don't come and get him are they stoning him outside of the city are they beating him and throwing him in jail and fill a pie I mean obviously he wasn't a pastor but I'm just saying when the word of God gets preached people get upset and people try to kill you or try to ruin your life so now there's we believe this church there's three biblical offices and I'll I'll explain to you why I'm getting into this in a bit here but the it says in verse in first Timothy 3 when it says this is a true saying if a man desire the office see how it says it's an office and an office is a position of authority or service typically one of a public nature so but it could be you know just in a church setting it's in a position of authority it's a tip you know and it's it's kind of a public it could be a public nature where people know that person's a pastor that person's a deacon or that person's you know an evangelist so it's an office of a bishop so it is a position within the church that is a position of authority so and so we believe this church there's three offices so most Baptist churches will say there's only two offices pastor and deacon but they will not say that evangelist is one of those positions but I do believe that evangelist is one of those positions and I'll explain to you why I believe that and I think I have before but I'll explain it again but first let's look at bishop so we already have that scripture right there it says if a man desire the office of a bishop I mean it's telling us plain and clear right there that it is one of the offices right so and let's look at Acts 14 turn to Acts 14 verse number 23 Acts 14 verse number 23 so the position of an so in bishops could be called elders pastors shepherds those are the different things that they're called in scripture ministers are they're called ministers too sometimes and then Acts 14 23 says and when they had ordained them elders in every church and had prayed with fasting they commended them to the Lord on whom they believed so you see in Acts 14 that they went around and ordained elders in every church this is God's desire that would that this would take place that and it's not and when it says elders this is talking about someone that's just mature in the faith enough to lead a church now it doesn't necessarily mean that they're an older person they're older in the faith so someone could be 23 years old and be an elder spiritually because we're spiritual babies when we first get saved we're not elders you know you could be 55 years old and still be a baby spiritually right now so I mean that's pretty easy to establish that this is an office the bishop pastor elder whatever you want to call it that's an office that's pretty easy to prove look at the deacon we'll look at the deacon now let's turn to Acts chapter 6 this is when the deacons are first introduced in the New Testament now I personally believe that deacons were in the Old Testament too in a way when Moses got the advice from his father-in-law they were told to pick out men that hated covetousness and Moses was supposed to impart his spirit upon the 70 other elders right and those elders I mean what is elder is another word for pastor in the Bible right so Moses had this mega church basically in the wilderness but it wasn't a mega church like you see today with the purple lights and the smoke and all the rock bands and all that right they tried to have a rock band when Moses left for a little while but he came down and shut that down real quick didn't he so and anyway so I believe that those guys were kind of like what deacons would be or maybe under shepherds but Moses was the one clearly in charge but they kind of had the similar qualifications that you would see the deacons have today but anyway or they would be kind of like Levites or something so anyway look at Acts 6 1 it says when the number of the disciples was multiplied there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them and said it is not reason that we should leave the word of God and serve tables wherefore brethren look ye out among you seven men of honest report full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom whom we may appoint over this business now that word appoint would also be another word for ordain or appointing them to what an office ok over this business anybody that says that the work of the Lord is not business it is business it says over this business right but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word so these guys are the spiritual leaders the preachers and their job is to pray and to you know write sermons basically and they were being bogged down by like serving tables and helping you know doing stuff and there's nothing wrong with them doing that but it got to the point where they just couldn't get the spiritual things done and they needed to bring some people in that could help with these physical tasks there was also it's their spiritual works but they're also physical things that you know were not what they were supposed to be doing so it says verse five and the same pleased the whole multitude and they chose Stephen a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost and Philip and Prochorus and Nicanor and Timon and Parmenas and Nicholas and a proselyte of Antioch whom they set before the apostles and when they had prayed they laid their hands on them so what are they doing there they're ordaining them aren't they ok and the word of God increased and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith so even the priests were being obedient to the faith of Jesus right so what happened well they were being blessed because the men of God were freed up to do what they were supposed to be doing and God was obviously pleased with this because things were increasing so was it a good decision yes where does it say in the Bible that they were supposed to do this they just made up a position does it say they called them deacons do you see the word deacon in here anywhere do you ok so it doesn't say deacon but you know there are clowns out there that will pick apart my interpretation about believing that someone is an evangelist is an office and I believe it is and I don't apologize for that there's a lot of I happen to have pastor friends that believe the same thing I think I mean they have ordained evangelists that they send out to the Philippines and other places and even just serve in their churches and they call and they have those positions where they ordain them and they call them evangelists and so but there's this clown that kind of said I just made up the position of evangelists so that I could start a bunch of churches and never put pastors in them that I could perpetually mooch off these churches that I start so that's why I'm kind of bringing this up and that I make up the office of evangelists to suit my own needs so but isn't it funny how the apostles made up a position and it doesn't even say what their name is right here but they ordained them and set them to the work but later on turn back to 1 Timothy chapter 3 where we just were and so it doesn't even call them deacons in this passage but we just what assume by 1 Timothy 3 that this is what it's talking about because there is an office called deacon in the Bible it's in 1 Timothy 3 right underneath the qualifications of a pastor and that's what it calls them so it doesn't tell us in Acts chapter 6 that's what they called them because maybe that's just not what they called them at first they probably didn't know what to call them they just said hey you guys I don't know I don't know what they called them but they definitely the word deacon is not in this passage in Acts chapter 6 so and even later on in the book of Acts it doesn't even say and Philip was one of the deacons it says he was one of the seven they picked seven guys here didn't they and Philip was one of the names on the list right so the office you know this guy that said this he wants to nitpick my interpretation but you know go to this passage and try to prove that the office of a deacon was right here and find the word deacon for me you know you want to prove all things with the Bible but I think that you can prove that this is what the deacons were but it just doesn't say the word so you know people people just want everything to fit in their little cookie cutter of scripture all the time and obviously I do believe that we should prove everything with the scriptures but I think that that is what this passage is talking about I mean I think most people I mean I think if you took like 99 Baptist pastors and asked them where the first deacons are they're going to take you right to Acts chapter 6 right to Stephen they're going to say Stephen was a deacon they're going to say Philip was a deacon I mean I think most people would I say 99 out of 100 because there's always that weird anomaly right but I've actually I'm not the only person that believes that I've seen other old IFB pastors that have in their in their whatever what they believe on their website and they believe the same thing that there's three offices so it's not like I believe something weird and off the wall so look at 1 Timothy 3.8 says likewise must the deacons be grave not double tongued not given to much wine not greedy of filthy lucre holding the mystery of the faith and pure conscience and let these also first be proved so they have to be proved they have to have qualifications that they have to meet then let them use the what's it say there the office of a deacon being found blameless well where is this concept introduced where is this this is the first time it's said in the New Testament so it's like then the office of a deacon so this is the first time this word is being introduced to us in the New Testament where do we hear about it from though it's Acts chapter 6 isn't it but it doesn't say deacon in Acts chapter 6 does it but that is what it's talking about I mean if anybody has two brain cells to rub together they can figure this out it's not that hard so then it says they must first be proved then let them use the office of a deacon being found blameless even so must their wives be grave not slanderers sober faithful in all things let the deacons be the husbands of one wife ruling their children and their own house as well so their wives have qualifications they have to be morally right in all those types of things too and it says for they that have used the office of a deacon well purchased to themselves a good degree and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus so I mean they are essentially like almost exactly the same qualifications as a pastor that a deacon has to have so they have to be pretty close to what a pastor already is so they are essentially modern day Levites in reality because the priest and the Levites they had to be pretty closely qualified together too because the Levites had to do all the same things that the priest did except for they just couldn't do the most holy things they still helped them I just preached about this they helped them cut everything up and measure everything out they touched all the same things pretty much but they carried the furniture they covered it all up and they had to be sanctified just like the priest did they had to wash themselves with water clean clothes not have sweat on them all that kind of stuff so they still had to have all these things but these guys didn't have to be Levites they just had to be qualified in the office of a deacon and have all these qualifications met so they have to be married in most Baptist churches it's a voting thing hey what deacon am I going to vote for this quarter it's like where do you see that in the Bible there are churches where the deacons are voted for and they don't have kids or they don't have a wife sometimes they don't have a wife and you can just vote for any man in the church to be a deacon it's like where's that in the Bible it's not there or you know they got all these rotten kids or they don't have any kids at all and it's just like how are they qualified they've been divorced they got a beer full a fridge full of beer when we go over to their house on the 4th of July and they're a deacon how's that work not giving to wine it says not giving to much wine well it's only a six pack pastor but so I feel like they're just kind of like modern day Levites they assist the pastors in whatever service they need to perform they're not the boss of the pastor like most Baptist churches have or they can just fire the pastor if they don't like what he's doing they can fire the pastor or demote him or whatever they do in these churches where they give the deacons the power over the office of the pastor no the pastor is the boss of the church he's the ruler over the church and the deacons do what he says they're the servants of the church that's what deacon means it means servant it's what it means so that's why because they have to perform a lot of the same services that a pastor does I mean what's Stephen doing preaching the Bible well it's simple he has to have a lot of the same qualifications the Levites also were teaching priests they taught just like the priest that went before the altar they all had to know the Bible they all had to teach the Bible that was part of their job so what I'm saying is that the deacons they had to be able to do everything that a pastor could do so modern day today if they have to do wedding you know marriage counseling or funerals or weddings I mean these are not out of the scope of things that a modern day deacon would do now let's go to the evangelist here let's look at Acts chapter 21 verse number 8 Acts chapter 21 verse number 8 now obviously Paul the Bible never calls Paul the evangelist you know why because Paul is an apostle so his highest ranking his highest rank is apostle it's like if you're a general you have to be able to do and know all the things that everybody underneath you knows but if you're a general are you still a soldier in the military are you still a soldier and you know you probably have to know how to use a rifle so could you be considered a rifleman I mean you still have to qualify on all the things that everybody else has to do so I mean I like to use this example as a crew leader where I used to work you had to be able to do everything that everybody underneath you did so if you had to jump in an excavator or if you had to jump into a truck that was not in your classification you had to be able to do those things to be a crew leader so that you know you have to be able to do the things that the rest of your crew could do so Paul the apostle you know he was going around doing what? starting churches first of all he'd go in, go to the synagogue try to get people saved at the synagogue then he'd go around and try to get as many people saved in the town before they pulled out the torches and pitchforks or whatever and chased them out of the town but sometimes he would stay for long periods of time sometimes he would get people saved and they would get rid of them immediately but what was Paul's mission? to go and get people saved he did three missionary journeys and he went out from one church what church was it? Antioch and when he went and did this loop and came back where did he go back to? Antioch, why did he do that? that's ascending church where did he get ordained from? Antioch well I thought he was an apostle no he's not over the top of pastors pastors are the leaders of that local church Paul served in Antioch at that church and the Holy Ghost said separate unto me Saul and Barnabas for the work and so they taught and preached there for over a year and then they laid hands on them and they ordained them and sent them out does it say what title they sent them out as? did it say they ordained them as missionaries and sent them out does it say that? does it say they ordained them and sent them out as evangelists? does it say they ordained them and sent them out as apostles? were they already apostles when they went there? I think they were so why did they lay hands on them then? why did they lay hands on them? someone please explain to me why they laid hands on someone that already was they were already apostles Barnabas was already an apostle you might not know that but Barnabas was an apostle also he was one of the seventy so why? why ordain them? well I mean do you think they were sent out as pastors? did Paul have a wife? so was he sent out as a deacon? didn't have a wife did he? well that's really interesting I wonder what he was sent out as let's look at Acts 21 verse 8 the Bible says and the next day we that were of Paul's company departed and came unto Caesarea this is way off into the future after Paul's already been doing things for a long time this is way after this is about twenty years after Philip has already been ordained as a deacon in Acts chapter 6 ok we entered into the house of Philip what's it say? T-H-E what's that? the evangelist so is he is that just a nickname? is that his middle name? the Philip the evangelist his last name? this is where the word evangelist came from the evangelist so that's just his first middle and last name Philip the evangelist it's like John the Baptist first middle last it says Philip the evangelist which was is was past present or future tense past which was one of the seven one of the seven what? first deacons even though it doesn't say the name deacon in that passage does it? and abode with him he was ordained as a deacon in what? Acts chapter 6 we all saw that right? and now he's Philip the evangelist he's called something different he's not called he says he was one of the seven in 1 Timothy chapter 3 the office of a deacon is what he actually was though and maybe just Luke when he's writing Acts maybe the term deacon hasn't just been invented yet or something I don't know it hasn't been said yet or he just didn't put that word in there for whatever reason but we know that's what it was okay now look at verse 9 and the same man had four daughters virgins which did prophesy that just means they preached he had four daughters that prophesied that means they preached I'm sure they didn't preach behind the pulpit he's talking about he taught them how to preach the gospel does it say his wife was there? no it doesn't so what's changed? well he's still in the same place that he eventually left for in Acts chapter number 9? or 8? it doesn't matter when he left after preaching to the Ethiopian eunuch he went to a couple different places he left and went to this same place and he's still there now to Caesarea the last time we saw Philip was in Acts chapter 8 he leaves he ends up in Caesarea he's the deacon of Jerusalem that's where he originally was ordained as a deacon at we saw him in Samaria doing great works he's obviously being sent to do these things we see him in Caesarea that's not Jerusalem so he's there 20 years later and now he's being called the evangelist not the deacon he was one of the seven, past tense and when you have the before something if he's called the that means he's being given a title isn't he? if he just speaks English or Spanish, probably can understand that right? so let's turn back to 2 Timothy chapter 4 verse 5 so suppose I'm just making up an office even though there's a guy who used to be a deacon he was one of the seven even though it's not saying he was a deacon isn't that interesting though? anyway just kind of a point that I thought was interesting it's not even calling him a deacon it's calling him one of the seven and now it's calling him the evangelist now Acts 2, excuse me 2 Timothy chapter 4 verse 5 says but watch thou in all things endure afflictions this is Paul talking to a pastor do the work of an evangelist make full proof of thy ministry so this guy's a pastor, why is he saying to do the work of an evangelist? why is he saying that? what is an evangelist? well an evangelist is someone who seeks to convert others to the Christian faith by preaching the gospel or the good news to them when it comes to the word evangelize it comes from the word to evangelize to convert or seek to convert someone to Christianity this is what we were doing out there today we were seeking, you know, somebody said hey, we're not religious and it's like, well I know, that's why we're here we're here to convert you I didn't say that to her but I was kicking myself for not saying it because that's really what I should have said well I mean, yeah, I know, that's why we're here we're here to convert you but anyway that's what evangelism is is you're going out and preaching the gospel to people now we do that but do we call each other by have you seen brother Alex the evangelist lately? is that what we say? no because that's not his full time job I mean it kind of seems like it is because he's out sowing so much but I mean you know, in the bible you might see like the, I don't know if you have the headings in your bibles that say, okay, mine just says the gospel according to Matthew but it might say in your headings in the gospels it might call them the evangelists but I mean that's just the heading in your bible doesn't mean that they were actually you know, that title of evangelists they were pastors and bishops or I mean, excuse me apostles but Peter was an apostle who was an elder also wasn't he? it says in the book of Peter that he was an elder whom an elder also and Paul talks about how he was able to also get paid as, you know get to forbear working like Peter and James who led their wives and their children and whatever he was talking, you know, in 1 Corinthians chapter 9 he talks about how they are able to do that because they have wives and stuff but he doesn't but if he wanted to get married or he wanted to, you know, he had a sister that lived with him or something he'd be able to support them by taking on pay so Peter was an elder James was an elder but Paul was an apostle so that's always he's never going to not be an apostle and you know, I mean for someone that says well it doesn't say that that evangelist is a position or an office but why would someone be called the evangelist if that wasn't a title for them it's a title because I don't go ask CJ the evangelist if he can cover the bible reading tonight would I ever say that? you know why I wouldn't say that? because he's not an evangelist he evangelizes but he's not an evangelist I don't say hey is Ramon the evangelist taking up the offering tonight or is Sean the evangelist taking up the offering tonight do I ever say that? you know why I don't say that? because they are not evangelists and we do have evangelists Justin Zong is an evangelist because I ordained him as one and Sean Conlon is an evangelist because I ordained him as one Wynn Fisher is an evangelist because I ordained him as one I've had a couple that didn't work out and they're fired you're fired but sometimes they just don't work out whatever do you see what I'm saying? and then the bible turned to Ephesians 4 verse 11 what does this have to do with what the original message is titled not self willed well I mean I'll explain it to you in just a second but I wanted to nail this down because this is an accusation that someone is accusing me of by saying that I make up positions I make up offices and look I'm not the only one that believes this I'm not the only one I'm not the only one that teaches this I'm not the only one that believes this I've seen even old IFB churches pastors believe this but look what it says in Ephesians 4 11 and he gave some apostles do we have apostles anymore? and he gave some prophets does it make sense that people directly speak to God? I mean yeah no we don't and some evangelists do we still have evangelists today? yes we do and some pastors and teachers we still have those for the perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry for the edifying of the body of Christ let me say that again for the perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry for the work of God as a gift for the work of the ministry and for the edifying of the body of Christ does that mean they preach too? yes they do because I'm pretty sure Philip still preached his daughters did and whether that was behind a pulpit or whatever it seemed like he just kind of stayed at a place you know we have people that are missionaries to certain countries and they stay there for the rest of their lives I don't have a problem with that I think that that's perfectly fine but you know we kind of do the do it yourself missions kind of that's kind of the philosophy of churches like ours but we still have people that we support as missionaries in other countries but let me ask you this where's the word missionary in the Bible? oh you're just making up an office now but do you think people do people call the apostle Paul a missionary? do they say he's the greatest missionary of all time the apostle Paul do people say that? well why don't you just call it the biblical thing that he actually was which was an evangelist but he was the apostle Paul so you're not going to call him the lesser title you're going to call him the apostle Paul but what was he doing? he was doing evangelism that was like what his thing was that is why we're sitting here today is because the apostle Paul so don't say I'm making up a title the apostle Paul I'm pretty sure wrote in chapter 4 oh wait yeah he did because he planted the church there and he was the apostle and the evangelist that actually did it he was sent out by Antioch Baptist Church maybe it wasn't called that but you know who else is sending people out who else is doing the work who else is knocking the doors it's Baptists that are doing it maybe they didn't call themselves Baptists back then but anybody that's doing anything that's worth anything today is Baptist so it's just the way it is I don't care but if one of the positions that's being talked about here in Ephesians 4 is evangelist then that means it's what? it is a position it is a position it is a title and if you're being called Philip the evangelist that means that he was an evangelist his title changed from deacon and because he wasn't he wasn't qualified to be a deacon anymore because it doesn't mention his wife it mentions his daughters maybe she died or something like that I don't think he got divorced I just think that she probably died and he didn't want to remarry so he just took that title because you can still be an evangelist like Paul was not married but he was still an apostle and still serve in a capacity like that so that's my belief on that but anyway in this accusation against me is that I'm actually the one that self willed I'm the one that self willed this person that tried to come to our church and become a pastor is not the one that self willed so I'm like okay well that's an interesting take because I don't really want to ordain people to take over our churches I just want to siphon the money from all of them that's the accusation I'm like what money what money am I siphoning off well England the churches in Canada all 10 churches that I have well I don't have 10 churches number one I don't know if he was just throwing out a number or what he was doing with that but 10 churches apparently England, Canada all these churches I'm siphoning all the money because I just want it all for myself I want to be the big star I want to be the hero so but what does it actually mean to be self willed well not self willed means to obstinately is obstinately doing what one wants in spite of the wishes or orders of others and when this person when I would tell them or give them advice they would ignore that advice when I would ask them to do something I could see the resistance in them and that they didn't want to do what I wanted them to do and when I tried to change anything in the plan of their ordination they left how is that following your leadership and that like probably about 10 times in the sermon they are saying I promised to give them one of my churches promised if you promise to give somebody one of your churches then you should do what you say you are going to do well how about you promise to not be weird when you are here and maybe I will but I never promise anybody anything except I have emails that I sent back and forth with this person I mean you might want to just be careful what you are saying behind the pulpit because I got the receipts bro so and when you said that you said you weren't calling yourself a pastor well I got the receipts on that too so I mean you were calling yourself a pastor before you came here and you lied about it it's just that simple you were calling your church a church before you came here you lied about that too so don't talk to me about being self will you were already trying to call yourself a pastor before that and then you know now it's very obvious you just thought you were going to get your rubber stamp because you go soul wanting so much it's like look that's what I kind of thought was kind of weird actually that like family members are at home needing to go to the hospital and you are trying to get that last person saved for the night or whatever or that you just had surgery that day and you are still trying to go out soul wanting to me that's hyper spiritual like it's okay take a sick day you know well I have to go soul wanting every day that's the goal well to me it just looks like you are a hyper spiritual bozo that's what I think so and I think that driving your family into the ground is a bad idea which is another piece of advice that he didn't take so we are offering to co-sign on somebody's house the week he moved here or something I am just like dude what are you doing you can't do stuff like that so anyway but I am siphoning the money from all these churches well let me just tell you one thing real quick the only churches that are connected the only satellite churches that are connected to us monetarily are Seattle and Spokane and I don't know if you realize this but Spokane is not a very big church right now so it just got smaller but now it's getting bigger a little bit but I mean it's kind of breaking even you know kind of but Seattle is about the same so but in reality we are kind of putting in more than they are for you know so it's fine I don't care I mean I am not in this you know to make a profit or something but I am just saying that it's kind of a wash with both places you know the rent costs money the utilities cost money the internet well the internet not in Seattle but up there it all costs money invitations and Bibles and you know special events cost money so I am not making any money off those satellite churches when I set up the church in Canada from day one it's never been something and the only reason I am answering this because this has been an accusation against me like multiple times so I am just going to put this to bed right now in Canada when we started that church that was the first satellite church we started from the start it's never been tied to us financially you can and you can just call anybody from these locations and just ask them call brother Nguyen well he probably wouldn't want you to call him but email brother Nguyen and just ask him are we tied is our church tied financially to the church in Canada at all I have never gotten anything financially from them that I could ever think of Winnipeg same thing never tied to them financially they kept their own books separately it's international you think I want that headache you think I want to do that paperwork I already don't like doing paperwork but I don't want to do that paperwork they do their own stuff call brother Wiebe and ask him call Pastor Wiebe no don't call him email Pastor Wiebe and ask him Pastor Taverner the only thing he has ever paid for me is airplane flights food and stuff and lodging when I was there and a love offering when I go that's it there is no connection monetarily to those churches call evangelist the evangelist Justin Zong and ask him if they send their money to our church actually I send them the money that comes in from the online tithing to them it might take me a little while but I do do it he sends me the list don't forget to this passing but I send the money to them so that's all the churches that oh yeah in Yakima they have a different bank account than we do so how am I getting the money from that church I pay from this church the hotel and the gas and probably the food sometimes I don't know but when they are not bringing in a lot of money what do you think I just want to dip into their pot I don't so how am I just taking from the ten churches even though we don't have ten churches and sifting it down to me because I just don't want a pastor in these churches do you actually think I don't want to have a pastor in these churches hey what's his name pastor Ian what taverner I ordained him he's the pastor of the church Jim Webb is he what's his title again pastor Jim Webb and a week before this clown left our church I went and ordained pastor Jim Webb it's not because I want to keep siphoning off of his church no I want them to be independent ok why am I sending Remy up to Spokane because I want Remy to eventually become the pastor there and so that that church can be independent why did I ordain Sean Conlon as the evangelist to our church up in Seattle because I want him to eventually become the pastor of that church and you know why I didn't want this other bozo to be the leader up there because he was a bozo that's why it has it has nothing to do with me not wanting to do to ordain pastors and train people it has to do with me not wanting to put bozos in there like the dirt bag that's dying in six months that I made a mistake on years ago I'm a little more careful and still people might trick me but that's what the devil does he sends people in to trick us or whatever but I'm sure that you know those might not be the last people that I make a mistake on but that's just the way it is if they can fool the apostles they can fool me too I'm no better than them but I'm just saying that to make the accusation that I'm making up a title that's spelled out in the bible the evangelist do the work of an evangelist and he gives evangelists for the work of the you know for the work of the lord then how am I making that up and please tell me what Paul was ordained as and then please tell me where the word deacon is in Acts chapter six and then also tell me why it was okay for the apostles to make up a title on the fly I the apostles can do it but I don't have any authority I can't just make up I can't make up a title though what if I did want to make up a title of the evangelist what's wrong with that do I not have authority I mean they did it did god tell them to do that or do we not have power on the earth to do things like that I mean if I wanted to just have an employee and call that you know this is the new servant of our church or whatever and call it a different name could I not do that could I hire an employee to help us do things yes I can I'm not trying to be heretical here okay I'm just trying to make a point that it's not as cut and dry necessarily as he's trying to make it you know just because it doesn't say the office of an evangelist well it doesn't say the office of a deacon in Acts chapter six do you see what I'm saying I mean have I hammered that home enough so to be self willed means to be determined to follow your own desires opinions or decisions often regardless of external influence advice or opposition it reflects a strong sense of independence and self determination but it can also carry a negative connotation when it implies stubbornness or an unwillingness to consider others perspectives you just want to do everything your way and when you come and say I'll do whatever you ask me to pastor I'll do you know even if you don't want to send me out I'm still okay I would just go to your church forever that's exactly what he said to me that's exactly I love this church I agree with everything you preach you're probably you're wider more right than every pastor in the new IFB or whatever that's flattery here's some key aspects of being self willed independence a self willed person tends to rely on their own judgment and confident is confident in making decisions without needing approval or guidance from others that that's a good thing to do sometimes but not when you're first learning okay and by the way when he come and asked me he was like he basically tried to put me on a hot seat this is how this is how he works too you know he hasn't even been here for a year at this point he's like hey my work is kind of pressuring me to pick where I want where they want me to go and I you know it's either Seattle or back to Indiana or whatever or Kentucky or whatever it was and I was like okay so he's basically before he's even been here for a year what the timetable was hey after two years I'll ordain you if everything's all good right if you've gone through the train and whatever but I've I told him I always caveat that if everything goes well nothing's guaranteed oh yeah yeah yeah I know that so why would you come to me before the year's even up and then try to put me in a position where I'm telling you to move your family up to a place in Seattle where you're already telling everybody well Seattle is way more expensive and you know and then showing how cheap it is back home where you live and where you're from showing people on the computer in the office there that it's way cheaper and way more receptive and all this other stuff but then acting like you want to go to Seattle and then he presents this plan to me how he wants to go back and how how good it would be to go back there and then when I asked I said well let's just think about it for a while and then give me your answer don't give it to me right now and then he just blurts out Seattle it was really shocked me because I just thought he was just trying to get back to where he lived and I I just gave him some options I was just like well here's what I'd like to do if you want to go back home where you're from then what I would do is at the end of two years I would ordain you as an evangelist and send you back there for a year and if you're doing good and it's thriving after a year then I'd ordain you as the pastor what's wrong with that? You're still getting ordained as the evangelist and then I said well I'd come and do a big kickoff and you'd be known for a while you'd be able to get established you'd be under our banner it's going to help you it's going to help you get established out there because nobody's going to know who you are because he couldn't get anything started there on his own you know in his dad's electrical shop or whatever in the basement or wherever he was nobody was going to his church he wasn't getting people saved he didn't start sowing really until he got here his wife got his first person saved here he wasn't very experienced and like before the years up he's just like already demanding where he wants to go like that's not how it works that is self willed that is the very definition of it and then when he didn't like that I changed the plan or whatever well they had already been displaying a bunch of weird behavior anyway and red flags beyond belief and so just for me to change anything that made him move I'm moving and then it didn't even take a couple days or he's already telling people after I asked him do you want me to tell people you're moving he's like no I don't want to tell anybody until after I know for sure when my move date is and all that and then the first thing he does is goes and invites out you know a couple from our church and then tells them all about it and then you know gives them they've been like just trying to get them to believe that I like change the deal on them or whatever well I have the text message to prove that he's the one that proposed that he goes back there in the first place and then he changed the deal on me don't propose a deal to me that I think about it I'm like okay well yeah that might be a good idea for you to go back there I mean you're still you're still gonna have your your precious title or whatever but then you're just gonna have to wait an extra year like is he gonna is he planning on going that far off the rails in the first year that he can't just be the evangelist for a year and then he has his little cult member with him here and then him and his cult member run off together and the reason why he left so fast he was planning on staying for another three months until I preached about the blood having to be put on the mercy seat and he was so mad that he couldn't even look at me and him and his little henchmen left off back off to Kentucky or whatever so anyway off on the weeds here but stubbornness on the downside being self-willed can sometimes mean being inflexible or obstinate refusing to compromise or adapt even when it might be beneficial that's exactly what I was just talking about it was it would have been beneficial for him to have our name behind him and him to be ordained as an evangelist and you know it would have been good for him but that's not how he is he wants everything his way and see that's not how leader someone being led works he does not know how to be led so you have to be able to follow before you can lead that's his problem self-reliance self-willed individuals often prefer to chart their own course and may resist authority or societal expectations that conflict with their personal vision that's nailing him right between the eyes being self-willed can be admirable when it drives someone to achieve great things stand up for their beliefs or overcome adversity for example innovators and leaders are often self-willed in their pursuit of a vision so it can be good to a certain extent just like I said you know to desire the office of a bishop is a good thing if it's for something good but you still have to follow the rules you still have to do what's expected of you and if you're just fighting at every turn and I mean the day that he got that supposed convert baptized I just got done saying hey we have shorts and t-shirts and towels and everything if you need them and then he just like in the middle of the Mother's Day sermon he's like tapping his wife on the shoulder and getting her to go buy stuff just interrupting you know just making a commotion inside the service and make sure that everybody sees that they went and bought the stuff so that they could that guy could get baptized when we already had the stuff here at the church for what? a show an open show so that everybody saw her walk up with the bag rattle in the bag in her hands so that everybody would look and see her hand that bag to him inside the service most people might not have noticed that but I noticed it and he was disrupting me while I was preaching you know with all the commotion and stuff it's just like it was just ridiculous that's just you know just an example of some of the stuff that they did like he heard me announce that in the church service he doesn't go and say hey do you guys know where the shorts and the shirts are doesn't even bother look he just sends his wife out during the Mother's Day sermon doesn't even pay any mind to what she might need to hear you know because he wants to look good look at me look at what I do show me title of one of his sermons show me look at how hard I work annoying is what it is and negative it can be problematic when it leads to arrogance disregard for others or an inability to collaborate effectively for instance a self willed person might ignore valuable advice or alienate others by insisting on their way I mean and this is just this person to a T so that's just the truth and I am not self willed I didn't even want to be the pastor here so I mean that's the opposite like I'm more like the Moses character where it's like no I can't speak well Lord like don't don't I don't want to do this and I had to be talked into it you're like well that's not really desire in the office of a bishop you got it right you're right about that so I mean I already kind of covered all the account stuff but I mean people just accuse me of this kind of stuff all the time because of the stupid bank statement stuff and they like they like to say that I ate the church funds and got fat off the church's money and this is the stuff he's saying in his sermon too it's like I don't know if you've ever seen you ever met me before I started the church but just so you know I was already fat before I started the church and I'm skinnier now than I was when I started the church just FYI so and you know I'm an easy target it's easy to just target me that way and you know I've been called a stupid fat mouth breathing slob or whatever but you know I never said I was a genius I never said I'm the smartest preacher that ever lived come follow me never said that and yeah I admit I'm overweight okay anything else you got it's funny that being overweight I can outwork a lot of people that don't do anything for God so but mouth breather can't help that born that way after all so slob is one thing I do take issue too though I mean I'm not I'm wearing a shirt and tie okay I tuck my shirt in I try to like be at least presentable so I do need a haircut though so let's look at I know we got a couple we got a little bit more time let's look at verses here but you know people act like you just have to be like every pastor has to be this carbon cut cookie cutter type pastor and the Bible actually doesn't paint that picture not every pastor is the same ability in speaking intelligence how they look all that stuff but people act like that's you know the Bible says not to compare yourselves amongst ourselves it's not wise to do that but then people compare preachers all the time they compare themselves amongst themselves well I'm not as lazy as a Christian as that guy over there is that is comparing yourself that's exactly what it is turn to first Corinthians chapter first Corinthians chapter one it's funny I listen to that stupid sermon someone sent it to me it's not like I was just watching like I actually care and subscribe from all this stuff immediately when this bozo left and someone sent it to me and I listened to it on warp speed and I was just like dislike and then like in the comment section he's like oh you're a cow whoever this is disliking the sermon is a coward it's like oh you mean like you are when you won't mention my name in the sermon just like I'm not mentioning yours but it's not because I'm a coward it's because I don't want to give that person notoriety because they're a nobody so anyway why would I want to make people go watch their sermons oh what does this guy have to say so they can listen to his stupid Jesus didn't take his blood to the mercy seat sermon it's like you have to be I don't like to use this word but you have to be retarded to think that that's true yep he made the mercy seat he made the place he made Moses pattern it just like the thing that he did in heaven but Jesus didn't have to do that part it's just symbolic okay well I went and looked at all the verses that say mercy seat well did you look in Hebrews when it says that he came one time into the holiest place what's the holiest place it's where the mercy seat is you idiot with his own blood what does that mean he took his own blood in there you moron you are stupid you're a hick rude idiotic moron you don't know what you're talking about because you're from Kentucky apparently I don't know but that is the dumbest thing ever no he didn't have why would why would there be a temple and then Jesus died outside the gate but he never puts his blood on the mercy seat in the temple don't you think he'd have to at least put it on the temple like what's the temple there for why is it on that specific place on Mount Moriah but then the blood never gets there you know why because it was it was no longer used after Jesus died and so he had to go to the real one that's what it explains in the book of Hebrews it's not rocket science anyway that's not what this sermon is about brethren but it is stupid says for you see your calling brethren how that not many wise men after the flesh not many mighty not many noble are called so you know he's not calling the rocket scientists you know you just have to be you know just an average person can be called not many wise after the flesh what does that mean the intellectuals not many mighty not many physical specimens not many noble what does that mean princes and the old money people and the people that are nobles not many of those people are called because not many of them will answer the call but God has chosen the foolish things of this world to confound the wise and God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty and the base things of the world and the things which are despised hath God chosen yea and things which are not to bring to not the things that are that no flesh should glory in his presence but of him are ye in Christ Jesus who of God has made unto us wisdom and righteousness and sanctification and redemption that according as it is written he that gloriest let him glory in the Lord not glory in our own appearance not glory in how smart we are not glory in how noble we are but glory in the things that the Lord has given us the talents that he has given us so how you look how intelligent you are I mean those things are gifts that God has given people but that's not a requirement for being a pastor or a preacher or just even a layman or child of God that just goes to church so, but people made fun of Paul too and they would, even though Paul got him saved they're still mocking him, mocking the way he preaches mocking the way his appearance is look at 2 Corinthians chapter number actually look at 1 Corinthians 2, sorry 1 Corinthians 2 look at verse 4 it says in my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom so Paul was not an eloquent orator it says but in demonstration of the spirit and of power that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men but in the power of God so he preached the power of the word of God now turn to 2 Corinthians chapter 10 2 Corinthians chapter number 10 verse number 10 the Bible says for his letters say they are weighty and powerful but his bodily presence is weak, so what do they make in front of? his body they're body shaming the apostle Paul that's just messed up how dare they body shame the apostle Paul like that his bodily presence is weak and his speech contemptible I don't know what that means sounds like they're making fun of the way he talks his southern accent or something I don't know what it is but they're making fun of his speech and his bodily presence see this is just something that happens you know those types of things don't really I mean they do bother you to a certain extent but that's all people can say they can say all they want about your personal looks they can say you know because people think because I'm big and tall that I'm stupid that's just honestly you big tall stupid ape or whatever but you know that doesn't necessarily mean anything that doesn't mean you're stupid just because you're short doesn't mean you're stupid either like how does being short or tall mean that you're stupid it doesn't mean you're stupid and it also just because you're short doesn't mean you're weak just because you're skinny doesn't mean you're weak there's skinny wrestlers out there that'll tear you up they'll be all over you like a spider monkey and you'll just be like I didn't this guy's got chimpanzee strength I don't know how that happened Moses again was not a good speaker and he was like I don't even want I'm not going and God just got mad at him Apollos was an eloquent speaker but you know the Bible kind of goes out of its way to just tell you that Apollos was an eloquent speaker but all this garbage of saying oh this person he's this and he's that we shouldn't have that kind of an attitude and being eloquent Moses said he wasn't eloquent he was of a slow tongue and God was like who made man's mouth and they finally were just like Aaron can talk for you but then like you see Moses being being the one that's talking but he did have Aaron talk for him sometimes Aaron was talking for him we just don't realize that necessarily but eventually I think Moses was the one talking cause Aaron died and then Moses is still talking so it's pretty obvious but anyway so to say though that I'm self-willed and cause I know why he preached that sermon because I said that he was self-willed and that really obviously hurt his feelers really bad but you know the truth hurts that's why he ran off to find the next pastor that would rubber stamp him because he's such a hard worker and he goes soul winning every single day past the times that I was allowing him to go by the way knocking until late in the dark you know when I asked him not to do that it just seemed like anything I asked him to do he would always say hey whatever I'm not doing right whatever I'm you're not you know I'll do whatever you want and then whenever I had asked him to do something he never wanted to do it that is the definition of self-willed and he would say yes but I could just look on his face and tell his countenance dropped he looked like someone who kicked his puppy but he doesn't like puppies but he looked like someone just you know kicked his dog though and it's real easy to read on people so it's not that I don't want to ordain pastors I do I very much do please if you want to be a pastor not right now though because we have too many people leaving to be pastors right now we need to build up the home front here but I mean we do have a need in Yakima and we do have a need in Canada eventually we need to get someone in there to be the full time person that's gonna you know be the pastor there at some point so but brother Sean and brother Remy are on it brother Justin if he doesn't screw everything up in the next you know year and a half or whatever he's gonna be the guy you know he's doing a great job they're doing a great work there so I think we're on our way but you know I mean I don't know what to do to help people like that they don't see what they do but you know I just my philosophy is that I'm not gonna name names unless I absolutely have to and especially if they're just not worth naming but I am going to correct people when they're lying about me and when they're preaching false doctrine so but I don't even have to necessarily correct everything obviously but when someone's just preaching false doctrine I mean he couldn't wait to get his own little spot so he could teach his stupid little 24 hour his day night doctrine he just had some hobby horses that he liked to preach he wanted to preach and one of them was the blood doctrine which that you don't have to put Jesus didn't have to put his blood on the mercy seat then he looked up every instance of mercy seat but I didn't watch the sermon I just like power tap tap tap tap tap and then like dropped it did the drop right there and then like he was just talking about the part that I wanted to hear which was I looked at every single mention did you ever see where Jesus put his blood on the mercy seat it's like Hebrews alright let's pray Lord we thank you so much for the Bible Lord and pray that you would just bless our church as we grow and Lord we've lost a lot of workers and pray that you just fill us back up Lord give us some silent partners Lord we do have some great silent partners that are moving alongside us and being trained pray the Lord that you would fill us back up Lord we're
