Well, our church is known as what's called an independent fundamental Baptist church. And so, what's wrong? The speaker's not working? Okay. So we're, our church is known as an independent fundamental Baptist church. And so, there's actually a lot, there's over 6,000 independent fundamental Baptist churches in this country. And, but what I mean by new IFB is that every generation or a couple generations or so, churches that seem to be going right end up getting infiltrated and end up going bad and end up teaching false doctrine. And so, the reason why we would call ourselves a new IFB church is because, not because we're a new type of church, it's because we're breaking free from the old IFB which has gone bad in many different ways. So there are some good old IFB churches. I wouldn't say that every single one is bad. But I would say that the majority of them have gone bad. And a lot of what they teach is, even if they are good, some of the things that they teach I think are false. So, they might have a good church, but hey, if a little 11-11 at the whole lump, and if you believe something that's wrong, then it's going to make your doctrine off on a lot of different things. And so, there's, you know, with any church, you're going to have enemies. And so, we do definitely have some enemies. And a lot of these old IFB churches are preaching against us. Or, you know, they don't really, if they do, they don't broadcast those things on YouTube or anything like that. But what they do is write little things and leave them for their church members and say, hey, these people are dangerous, this church is a cult. Or, you know, they believe in a mid-trib rapture. Or, you know, they'll just say that the things that we believe are heresy. But in reality, they're just trying to stem the tie that's flowing to our type of churches. Because look, people that love the truth are looking for a church like this. And, you know, we do love the truth here. And hey, if we're wrong about something, I would be willing to change if someone could show me in the Bible that what we're teaching is wrong. And the problem with the old IFB is you can show them plain verses, and they'll go, well, that's not what that means. Or they'll say, you know, well, what about this verse? You know, it's the classic try to turn it and twist it away is what they try to do. So, what I wanted to focus on is in the verse in Proverbs chapter 18, verse number 17. It says, he that is first in his own cause seemeth just, but his neighbor cometh and searcheth him. Let's pray. Heavenly Father, we thank you, Lord. And for this wonderful church, Lord, and just the fact that we have a group of people here that are seeking after the truth. Lord, I pray, you know, that you would bless this message that I'm about to preach, Lord. You'd fill me with the Holy Spirit. Lord, help me to be gracious in my words, but also appointed where it needs to be. And Lord, I just pray that you'd be happy more than anything else with this sermon. And Lord, if there's people here that don't quite understand what it is I'm talking about, I pray that you just help them to understand this sermon and pray that you'd bless everybody and help them to have ears to hear. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. So, he that is first in his own cause seemeth just, but his neighbor cometh and searcheth him. Now, you think, well, what does that mean? Well, have you ever had your kids fight and one of them comes to tell you first the story, right? So, and when the first person that comes to tell somebody a story, they're the ones that are believed first a lot of times. Because they lay out their story, you know, but there's two sides to a story usually. There's the right, the wrong, and then there's whatever in between, right? Some of it's both wrong or there's wrongs in both stories, but there's right, there's wrong, and then there's the truth, right? So, the truth is, is that we get attacked in churches like this. Our church gets attacked by people and they'll try to put their cause first against us, and then people in those churches will believe what those people are saying about us without checking the facts, without checking the details, without checking with us what we believe. See, a lot of the things they'll say, well, did you Matthew 18 that person before you kicked him out of your church or something like that? And it's like, well, they think that Matthew 18 is like, has to be done before you would kick anybody out for any reason, which is just wrong, but that just shows their understanding of things. But the thing is, they'll sit there and accuse us of stuff without having facts, and it's wrong, it's wicked. And it's someone that's, they seem just, they seem right, when they say that we're a cult or whatever, they might seem right because they lay out these things that they say that we believe, but most of the time, what they're saying we believe and what the truth is are two different things. So, just calling us a cult, you know, just, oh, they're a cult, okay. Well, a cult doesn't let, doesn't kick people out. A cult tries to keep people in. And sometimes, we've had to kick a few people out of this church. And look, there's certain people here I don't want. I don't want heretics here. I don't want homosexuals here. I don't want weirdos in this church. I don't want pedophiles. I don't want perverts here. Look, hey, there's plenty of churches that will let them in, let them go there, because they're not coming here. So, there's certain things that we just don't want here, and I don't have a problem saying that from the pulpit. But, they will say things about us that are just simply not true, and they're just false. So, if someone sits there and keeps telling the same story, even if you explain to them, like I've explained to people, well, hey, this is not true because this is what we really believe, and then they'll still be online and wherever they can be talking crap about us, talking bad about our church, and still telling the same lies. So, if they've been straightened out on it, and they're still saying it, then what are they? They're a bunch of stinking liars, what they are. So, but the thing is, there's churches out there that the pastors telling their congregation that our type of church is bad and wicked, and that we believe all this wicked, weird stuff, right? And stuff that when they tell their cause, it seems like it might be right. But see, I'm the neighbor that's going to come and search them out, and let them know, hey, you're wrong about this. And so, that's what I'm trying to prove in this sermon, and I'm actually going to preach two sermons about this. I'll preach the other one next weekend, because there's just so much garbage that people try to lie to us about. I was like, man, this is going to be a long sermon, and I don't want it to be too long, okay? So, it might be long anyway, but not too long. I just cut it to five lies this week. I'm just going to cover five lies about the new IFB that are told, and I'm going to prove to you that they're not true, and what we really believe about these things, okay? So, lie number one is that we are our cult, and Pastor Anderson is our leader. That's lie number one, okay? And so, when people call us a cult, though, what are they really doing? They're calling Jesus a cult leader. Because, I'll tell you what, we don't follow Pastor Anderson as some kind of a pope or something, and we're not a cult, because we're not trying to keep people in. I don't have speakers in your house that tell you when to come to church. I don't tell you what to think. I might try to tell you how to think. I might try to tell you what God thinks about something. I might try to tell you what God thinks about what you're doing, or about what God wants you to do, but I get that from the Bible, okay? I don't get it from my own imagination. I'm not Jim Jones. I'm not going to be passing out Kool-Aid after the service, okay? I don't care. What you do in your private lives is your business, okay? I'm not going to, you know, it's funny, these same pastors, in the announcements I said, I'm not going to come to your house. I'm not going to surprise attack you in the middle of the day or whatever, and just show up and knock on your door. I don't do that kind of stuff, and I think it's weird when people do that. But that's what they do. Well, hey, let's surprise them and visit them. Where I come from, that's called rude, okay? It's rude. If I just show up at your house unannounced, don't you think that's rude? But I'll tell you what, that's what they do, so that's just truth. I'm not lying, because I know someone in particular that's in this room right now who's got surprised by a pastor knocking on their door. They were supposed to have a meeting with them, and all of a sudden he just shows up at their front door. And I would think that that's kind of weird, wouldn't you? I've had it happen to me before, and it's not a very comfortable feeling. It feels like they're trying to catch you doing something, you know what I mean? But most of the time it's like, you know, I might be in my t-shirt and a pair of shorts or something. It's like, I don't want people to show up when I'm just kind of casually laying around my house like, oh, hey, how's it going? You know, I just, I don't like when people show up at my house unannounced. You know, obviously if it's an emergency or something, that's a different story. But, you know, coming to see how I live or whatever, to sneak over to my house and do that, that's kind of weird. That's cultish, in my opinion. I mean, maybe it's walking the line a little bit. But I'll tell you what, I don't come over to your, do I ever come over to, whose house have I ever come into at this church where I just come in unannounced at your house? Have you ever had me do that before? No. And you know why? Because I'm not a cult leader, that's why. Because what you do in your own, the privacy of your own home is your business. I'm not going to try and infringe upon that, but I'll tell you what, when I'm preaching this book right here, I'm going to tell you what God says, and then let him search you out. Let him see, you know, the word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than a two-edged sword. Piercing even to the divine and the sunder of soul and spirit and of the joints of marrow is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Okay, so when God searches out your heart, when God searches through your marrow and your bones and can divide between your soul and spirit, that's not me doing that, that's God's word. And that's what I'm trying to do, is try to get God's word into you so that you can have a better life. And hey, maybe he'll invade your home. Maybe he'll show up unannounced. You know what I mean? But, you know, but he's going to show up unannounced through his word. You know, his word's going to pierce through your heart and that, you know, I'm not going to do a home visit and go, Well, this is wrong. This is wrong. They got DVDs on the shelves. They got music on the shelves. That's not what, you know, that's what a cult leader would do. Okay? I'm not trying to get into your personal life like that. I'll let God do that for you. So, anyway, so we follow Jesus at this church. And so, basically what they're saying is when they call us a cult is they're saying that we're a cult because we follow Jesus. And, you know, Jesus is my leader. This book right here is my leader. Jesus is called the word of God. What is this? The word of God. So I follow this book. I preach this book. I don't preach my own opinion. If I preach my own opinion, I'm going to let you know that it's my opinion. Okay? And that will be different than what the word of God is. So turn to Acts chapter 19 and we'll show a couple examples of people that would talk bad about people like us following a certain way. Because if we're following the Bible, we're following Jesus, how is that a cult? I mean, isn't that what we're supposed to do? Isn't that funny when people say, well, I can't believe that you follow that book. Well, it's the Bible. It's God's word. Why would that be strange to you? Why would that be a cultish thing to do? I mean, that's why we come to church. That's why we're here to listen to the Bible. Isn't that true? When we go and knock on people's doors, why are we doing that? Are we doing that to bother someone's sleep? Are we doing that to invade their home? No, we're doing that so we can preach the word of God to them so they can be saved. You know, Shawn knocked on somebody's door and he doesn't even know this, but the lady called me or she didn't call me. She just got on our Facebook and started saying a bunch of stuff. And she's like, you people and, you know, and we do we knock on people's doors unannounced that we're trying to get saved. Okay. That's a different thing. All right. So we do do that, but we try to be respectful at the door. You know, she's like, I was asleep when you call or when you came and how dare you come to my door when I'm, you know, I work nights. Like, well, did you have a sign out front that said day sleeper? Because we respect that sign. And I hope that you guys respect a sign that says day sleeper. Right. Or baby sleeping. Hey, baby sleeping. Don't knock on the door. Don't knock on the door. Don't ring the doorbell. We're not, we're not savages here. You know what I mean? Just leave a card and hopefully they get it. But she was like, well, no, I didn't have that. And I said, well, you know, well, next time or maybe you should put a sign out there and then nobody will knock on your door and then they'll know not to knock on your door because you're a day sleeper. And then she just kind of went on and on and on. It was just she was just mad. She just hates God. But what she thought we were doing is rude. But here's what we were trying to do. We were trying to love them. We were trying to get her saved. Okay. So how is that? What's wrong with that? That's not cultish. That's what the Bible tells us to do daily and from house to house. They cease not to preach and teach Jesus Christ. Okay. So that's what we're trying to do. And why do we do that? Because that's what the Bible says. All right. So you're in Acts. Look at Acts 19, 9. It says, But when diverse were hardened and believed not, but spake evil of that way, before the multitude he departed from them and separated the disciples disputing daily in the school of one Charanus. So what were they speaking of? Evil of that way. What's that way? The right way. The way of Jesus. The way to follow Christ. Okay. And so people are going to speak evil of that way. That's never going to change. It's been happening for thousands of years. It's going to continue to happen where people speak evil of the way that we do things here at this church. And what is the way? Following Christ. Following the Bible. All right. Look at verse 23. It says, And the same time there arose no small stir about that way. Hey, and if we're doing the things the right way, people are going to get upset. People are going to get upset and people are going to say things. But you know who I wouldn't expect to do that? Is our brothers and sisters in Christ. And maybe we don't believe everything exactly the way you do, but if you believe that salvation is by faith alone, you believe the King James Bible is the word of God, you're conservative on your music and things like that. You believe in baptism by immersion, that it doesn't save you. You know, you believe basically the fundamentals of the faith. I'm not going to have a problem with you. But when you start telling us that we're in a cult because we believe the Bible and we preach the Bible and we follow Jesus, that's kind of weird to say that. I wouldn't expect brothers and sisters in Christ to say wicked things like that about us. Okay, so turn to Proverbs chapter 14 verse 12. Proverbs chapter 14 verse number 12. Proverbs 14, 12. The Bible says in Proverbs 14 verse number 12, says there's a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. And so there are people that think that there's a right way that they're following, but they're really not following the right way. Because how do we know that we're following the right way? Well, because we believe the Bible. That's how we know. What Bible are we following? The right one. Who's our leader? Jesus Christ. Now, is there anything wrong with liking Pastor Anderson's preaching? Is there anything wrong with following after or following the preaching of somebody that's a great preacher? No. See, because God has had great men of the past rise up and be great leaders. You know, Moses was a great leader. And look, I'm not comparing them to Moses, okay? I'm just saying that there's great leaders in every generation that people choose to follow. Why? Because God raises those people up to be great leaders. There's nothing wrong with following a man as long as they're following Christ, is what I'm saying. So, and obviously, I'm the pastor of this church. Pastor Anderson doesn't call me and make sure that I preach certain things that he wants me to preach. He never calls me to do that, ever. He never has. He doesn't tell me who to kick out and who not to kick out. He doesn't tell me how I should run my services and how I shouldn't run them. We run our services different than they run. But I mean, they're still decently and in order, right? He doesn't tell me what songs to pick for the Sunday morning service. You know why? Because he's not a cult leader. Because he wants to run his own church and maybe his influence influences us in a good way. But, you know, there's nothing wrong with that. So that doesn't make you a cult because of that. So, John chapter 14, verse 6. Go ahead and turn over there. John chapter 14, verse number 6. John chapter 14, verse number 6. The Bible says this, Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the Father, but by me. How do we know we're following the right way? Because Jesus says, I am the way. So if we're following Jesus, then we're following the way, we're following the truth, we're following the life, and no man cometh unto the Father, but by Jesus. So we know that we're following the right thing because we're following what Jesus said. Is that right or wrong? Turn to Mark chapter 8, verse 34. How did he say to follow him? He said in Mark 8, 34, he said, and when ye, excuse me, I'll let you get a chance to turn there. Mark 8, 34. Realize you're not really fully awake yet. You've only had one cup of coffee. Mark 8, 34. The Bible says, and when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and what? Follow me. So we're supposed to do certain things when we follow Jesus. We're supposed to come, you know, it says, whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself. What is that talking about? Deny the sinful pleasures that you would normally partake in if you were not saved, right? Try to deny yourself and take up his cross daily and follow. It doesn't say daily, but there's other verses that do say that. But take up his cross and follow me. But the Bible does say daily to do that. Because you know why? We have to crucify that man every single day. That flesh that we have still in our body, you know, we're made of flesh and that flesh cannot be redeemed. That's why when Jesus comes back he's going to give us a new glorified body that can't sin. But until then we're going to struggle with our sin nature, but Jesus said to follow me. Every day we're supposed to pick up our cross and crucify that old man and put on the new man, put on the new creature, which is our spirit, you know, if you're saved you have the Holy Spirit within you. That's the man, that's the new spirit that we're supposed to pick up the cross, crucify the old man, follow after Christ with our spirit, right? So there's no doubt that there's a way that's right. There's a way that seemeth right, but there's also the right way. I've showed you the right way, but the wrong way is anything else besides following Christ. Okay, so look at 1 Corinthians chapter 4 verse 15, and I'll address this part about not following man. Who's ever heard that where someone goes, you just follow a man? Well, you know what, I'll tell you what, there's nothing wrong with following a man as long as that man is following Christ. Okay, and that's what the Bible says. Turn to 1 Corinthians 4, 15. 1 Corinthians 4, 15 says, for though you have 10,000 instructors in Christ, yet have you not many fathers. For in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. This is the apostle Paul saying, hey, I got you saved, right? Wherefore I beseech you, be followers of me. And so, you know, if someone didn't know that that was scripture, and they heard that, and they said, well, you know, who is this guy saying to follow me? Well, guess what, it's the apostle Paul, one of the greatest men that ever lived, and he said to follow me. You don't have many followers, hey, I'm your spiritual father once, or you know, he's basically the father that begot them, got them saved, right? And see, look, Christians do get people saved, all right? That's another thing that they'll like, oh, well, you don't get people saved. God's the only one that saves people. Look, we understand that. But we're partners with God in that process. Look, they can't get saved without being told the word of God. Okay, and I'll get to that here in a minute. But, you know, people will say, you're following a man. You know, you're following Pastor Anderson, he's your pope, he's your cult leader. And it's just not true, as far as what they're saying. I don't believe everything that he believes. Look, I'm not going to sit up here and tell you what I don't believe that he believes. But what I will say is that I believe a lot of what he believes. And why? Because he's proven it through the Bible. He's proven that he follows Christ. And so why wouldn't I follow some of the things that he believes? So, 1 Corinthians chapter 11, turn there real quickly. 1 Corinthians chapter 11, verse number 1. This is the apostle Paul again speaking to the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It says, Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. So, under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, this is in the Bible. Paul is saying, follow, be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. Now I praise you, brethren, that you remember me in all things and keep the ordinances I delivered them to you. But I would have you know that the head of every man is Christ. And the head of every woman is the man, and the head of Christ is God. So, Paul's not trying to confuse people. Who's the head of the man? Christ. Who's the head of Christ? God the Father. Who's the head of the woman? The man. He's trying to tell us what order we're supposed to do things in, right? But the thing is that people will say, well you're following a man, you're not following God. Well, that's not true. Because as long as the man's following God, and we're following that person, that's okay. That's what he's saying, be ye followers of me. Alright, he's not saying be ye followers of, you know, obviously he wants us to be followers of Christ. That's not what he's saying, he's just saying it's okay to follow me because I'm giving you the truth here. Alright, so turn to Philippians chapter 3, verse number 17. I realize this is a long point, but I'm almost done making it. So Philippians chapter 3 verse 17 says, Brethren, be ye followers together of me, and mark them which walk so, as you have us for an ensemble. So here's the apostle Paul telling them to be followers of him again. So what is he saying here? He's saying, hey, follow me, follow our example, because why? Because there's many people that aren't following the right way. And these people, it's talking about people that's end is destruction. Like the people like John MacArthur. Like the preachers of the blood of Christ wasn't special and doesn't save you from your sin. Okay, people like John Calvin. You know, people still, there's a movement called Calvinism, have you ever heard of it? They followed a man, didn't they? They followed him off the cliff. Because Calvinism is false doctrine. And a lot of the things that they believe are false. How about Martin Luther? There's a whole movement of people that followed after a guy named Martin Luther. And he was wrong about a lot of things. Look at the Lutheran churches now. Rainbow flags hanging off the side of their buildings. Look at the Calvinist churches, Presbyterian churches, rainbow flags hanging off the side of their buildings. What about John MacArthur? Teaches a lot of false doctrine, teaches you can take the mark of the beast and still be saved. So these are the type of people we should avoid. Who should we be following? Men that follow Christ. Men that follow Christ and truth. Men that follow Christ from the Bible. Right? There's nothing wrong with that. We're supposed to follow Christ. We're also, it's okay for us. The Bible says it's okay for us to follow a man as long as they're following after Christ. Okay? And let's look at a perfect example of someone that they were supposed to follow. Let's look at Deuteronomy chapter 33 verse number 1. Deuteronomy chapter 33 verse number 1. The Bible says in Deuteronomy 33 verse number 1, and this is the blessing wherewith Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death. Did the people follow Moses or did they not? Were they supposed to follow Moses? Yes, they were. When Moses was challenged, what ended up happening to the people that tried to challenge him? They dropped alive into the pit of hell. Okay? And so when you start talking trash about a man of God, you better be sure that you're ducks in a row. You better be sure that you're right. Okay? And so Moses was the man of God. He proved it over and over again. God proved it for people. So hey, when someone starts talking trash about me or talking trash about Pastor Anderson or talking trash about other pastors that lead churches like our churches, hey, you better make sure that person really is the devil that you're trying to say they are. Because you're walking on dangerous ground at that point. Hey, maybe hell just might open up and drop you into the center of it. You never know. But I think it's funny these people that accuse us of following after men and following after, you know, we follow this man while they sell Charles Spurgeon socks on their online store. Okay? Charles Spurgeon socks. Hey, has anybody made the Pastor Anderson socks yet? The Pastor Anderson tie? Anybody done that? Do you guys have his collection? I mean, we have videos that he's made and stuff like that, but his commentary on the whole Bible, that's like the centerpiece of every pastor's office. All these green volumes that none of them have ever read. They're always like in pristine condition. They've never been read. You know why? Because he's the most boring person to ever listen to his commentary ever. And I'll tell you what, they're lifting, hey, at least follow a man that's preaching something right. They're following some ghost of Charles Spurgeon who they think is the prince of preachers and he was his greatest thing since sliced bread and all this other stuff. He was a Calvinist. Okay? He might have been Baptist, but he was a reformed Baptist. And a lot of the stuff he taught was complete garbage. And he was a fool. And he's roasting in hell right now. So, you know, go ahead and sell his socks all you want and preach how great of a preacher he was. They always say how he was the prince of preachers, but they never say why. Because what? Because he had the biggest church in England at a time? Well, I'll tell you what, Joel Osteen has the biggest church in the whole country right now. Do you want to follow him too? So, and then, you know, what about people like Jack Treiber? He's an independent fundamental Baptist. Oh, you shouldn't have named his name. Well, I'll tell you what, when he's letting homos in his church and knowing that they are, and then when they get caught doing some kind of weird thing or molesting somebody, they send him to another church and don't tell what he did. That's wicked. That's covering things up. But yet people will put him on high. You know what? You know what? If someone molested a kid in this church, you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to call the police and have them thrown in jail. And they're lucky that's the worst thing that would happen to them. If they get a few bumps and bruises on the way out, I don't know how that would happen, officer. He was resisting. But, you know, Jack Hyles is another perfect example. Hey, I like Jack Hyles' preaching. I thought he was a great man of God. But, you know, people, he had his enemies too. But the thing is, hey, you know what? I'm never going to make a statue of Pastor Anderson and put it outside of the front door of my church. I'm never going to do that. If I ever do, you just better know that you better throw me out. You better fire me somehow. But, you know, at Hyles Anderson College, they have a statue of Jack Hyles, which is total idolatry. It's not his fault. He didn't put it up there. Somebody else put it up there after he died. So you want to say we're following a man, but you have a statue of the man that you followed on the front steps of your college? That's wicked. That's actually following a man and you're not following Christ as you do it. Because God doesn't like molten and graven images. Okay? And that is a molten image of a man. And you know what that is? That's idolatry. It's a wicked sin that God punishes. Numbers chapter 12, verse 8, and I'll move on from this point. Numbers chapter 12, verse 8. Man, I might only get one point in here today. It might have to be like a several week series. Numbers chapter 12, verse 8, the Bible says, With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches. And the similitude of the Lord shall he behold. Let's talk about Moses again. Wherefore then were you not afraid to speak against Moses, my servant? And you know what? There's some independent fundamental Baptists and some other people out there today that are saying stuff about our church and saying stuff about pastors that I happen to be friends with. Saying stuff about yours truly here. And they're speaking against God's servants. And you know what? I hope that they have their fire insurance. Because you know what? God doesn't take too kindly to you talking wickedly about his people. About his men. Alright? You know, he made Miriam leprous because of what she did. And Moses had to entreat for her to even get brought back into the camp. And I believe Miriam was saved. So she was punished for what she did. So hey, if these Baptist pastors, they're just spouting off the mouth and they don't know what they're talking about. Maybe they should understand what we believe before you start lying about us. And lying about what we believe. It's wicked. Hey, if I make a mistake when I'm preaching about somebody in particular, because look, the Bible says we're supposed to call the names out. You know, I'm calling names out today. But why? Because they are doing something wicked. So not one person that I bring up, well there was not something wickedly wrong with them. Charles Spurgeon is in hell today. And why is he in hell today? Because he believes a false gospel. Repent of your sins. You've got to repent of all your sins to be saved. But what's people's beef with us? We don't believe exactly like they believe. So what, we're wicked? We're false prophets now? You better be careful. Anyway, let's move on to lie number two. Lie number one is that we're a cult and that Pastor Anderson is our Pope. Lie number two is that we're one, two, three, repeat after me. Lie number two is that we're one, two, three, repeat after me. And you know, people laughed out loud about that. And you know why? Because it's so far from the truth that it's not even funny. What am I talking about? Well, one, two, three, repeat after me is like basically walking up to someone and saying, hey, do you believe in Jesus? Oh, okay, great. Well, let's pray. Dear Heavenly Father, you know, please save me. That's one, two, three, repeat after me where you just basically give a very shallow gospel presentation and then you do pray some prayer with them and then pronounce them saved. Look, there are people that do that. And usually it's from the other camps that are actually accusing us of doing it. I went out with a guy one time. We did a so many marathon up in, what was the name of that place, CJ? Napa Vine. Napa Vine, yeah. We did a so many marathon on Napa Vine. I went so many with the pastor and the pastor, one of his pastor friends was saying how we're one, two, three, repeat after me and all this and this and that. And I went with that pastor and he called him after I got done getting someone saved, which I probably gave 40 to 50 verses to, and I didn't even know that. But he, afterward he said, I can't believe how many verses you gave that guy. He's like, that's incredible. And that was, you know, that was great. And so then he goes and calls that pastor that falsely accused him and said, hey, what you're telling, saying about them is not true. It's a lie because I just went with him and he got a guy saved and he used more verses than I've ever seen anybody use before and so many. So the lie that we're one, two, three repeat after me, they keep repeating. They keep repeating that same lie because if you tell a lie long enough and oft enough, people are going to believe it. You just keep telling the lie. You know, like there's lots of lies that people tell in the world. There's lots of lies the government tells you, oh, vaccinations are good for you. Vaccinations are good for you. Vaccinations are good for you. Vaccinations. And people just start believing it. People believe all kinds of things that aren't true. Why? Because people just keep repeating the same lies. And so lie number two that we're one, two, three repeat after me is so far from the truth that it's just a total, that's a wicked stinking lie. Turn to Acts chapter 16 verse 26. What do we believe that we're supposed to do when we go out soloing? Well, I'll tell you what, it's not one, two, three repeat after me. It's not that. Acts 16 verse 26 says, and suddenly there was a great earthquake. We're talking about the Philippian jailer here. Suddenly there's a great earthquake so that the foundations of the prisons were shaken. And immediately all the doors were open and everyone's bands were loose. And the keeper of the prison, awaking out of his sleep and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword and would have killed himself, supposing the prisoners had been fled. But Paul cried with a loud voice saying, Do thyself no harm, for we are all here. And he called for a light and sprang in and came trembling and fell down before Paul and Silas and brought them out and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Well, do you believe in Jesus? Okay, let's pray. No, that's not what they did. What did they say? Well, they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved in thy house. And that's the end and they just walked away. No, that's not the end. This is what they did. Look at verse 32. And they spake unto him the word of the Lord and to all that were in his house. What do we believe about soul winning? That you have to show people the word of the Lord and that's what's going to get them saved. Okay. They spake unto them the word of the Lord and to all that were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes and was baptized, he and all his, straight away. So immediately they got baptized, right? And when he had brought them into his house, he sat meat before them and rejoiced. What? Believing in God with all of his house. Why did they believe in God with all their house? Because they preached unto them the word of the Lord. You know what we believe at this church? It's not one, two, three repeat after me. It's a whole bunch of verses and then call the name of the Lord. Okay. So turn to Acts chapter 17 verse number 1. Acts 17 verse number 1 should be just one page over in your Bible. It says, Now that they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia and came to Thessalonica, there was a synagogue of the Jews. And Paul, don't miss this part, and Paul, as his manner was, so what was his manner? To do this every single time, right? Went in unto them and three days reasoned with them out of what? The scriptures. It wasn't, and then he came in and said, one, two, three repeat after me. It was reasoning with them out of the scriptures. He took the Bible and showed them what the Bible said it takes to be saved and then he reasoned with them out of the scriptures. Opening and alleging that Christ must needs have suffered and risen again from the dead and that this Jesus whom I preach unto you is Christ. And some of them believed. You know why they believed? Because they got the word of God in them and that's what we believe. Look, we have several verses that we go to. I don't even know how many our plan of salvation has in it. I actually meant to bring an insert that I had, but we even have follow-up verses that like if people ask extra questions, we have, a lot of people have, who has the notes written in your Bible that shows like if they don't believe the Trinity, they don't believe Hell, everybody in here has that in their Bible or if you don't, you know what verses to go to. And you know why? Because we're not one, two, three repeat after me. We want to explain people. We actually want them to believe. We're not just trying to count numbers for the sake of counting them. We're counting people that actually get saved or that we believe got saved. We're trying to convince them through the scriptures what the Bible says it takes to be saved and we use a lot of verses to do that. So, that's just a lie that people like to repeat. And you know why people believe? Because they hear the scriptures. Okay, so turn to Romans chapter 10 verse number 9. Romans chapter 10 verse number 9. Romans 10, 9, and this is where we close every, who closes with Romans 10, 9 through 13? Okay, let's read. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For what the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and what the mouth confession is made unto salvation. So people will say that we're one, two, three pray after me. That's another thing that they say. Well, what does the Bible say? If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For what the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and what the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. Okay, and it says for whosoever shall call upon, the name of the Lord shall be saved. We believe at this church that once we convince them and show them the truth out of the scriptures, that they must call upon the name of the Lord to be saved. You must ask Him to save you. Because if you don't call upon Him, then you don't really believe. You know, and maybe we don't always see that happen, and maybe they are too embarrassed to pray in front of us, then at that point we just don't count them. But it doesn't mean they didn't get saved, doesn't mean they didn't call out of their heart, doesn't mean they didn't go home and pray on their hands and knees at home and ask God to save them. But we believe at this church that someone has to ask, that's why we pray with them. Because it says whosoever shall call upon, what do you do when you're calling someone on the phone? You're talking to them, right? So we believe that you have to talk to God and ask Him to save you, okay? Because the Bible says whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on Him whom they have not believed? How shall they believe in Him whom they have not heard? If they haven't heard of them, they're not going to believe. How can they call upon them if they haven't believed? How shall they hear without a preacher? What are they supposed to hear? Well, they're supposed to hear the word of God. And how shall they preach, except they be sent, except as it is written, how beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace and bring glad tidings of good things. But they have not all obeyed the gospel, for Isaiah saith, Lord, who hath believed? Our report. So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. So what do we believe in this church? It's not one, two, three, pray after me. It's not one, two, three, repeat after me. It's, hey, we're going to give you a whole bunch of verses. We're going to tell you that you're, you know, that you have to believe you're a sinner, that you believe that hell is real and it's an eternal punishment, and that you have to believe on Christ, the death, burial, and resurrection to be saved, and that you, once you're saved, you have eternal life and that lasts forever, and you have to believe that Jesus is God, obviously, and, you know, then you must call upon the name of the Lord by faith. Because, look, you're not going to call upon someone you don't believe in. So if they call upon them in front of you, they pray with you, then at least you got a good indication that they got saved. But if they don't want to do that, then usually there's a reason, you know, why they won't do that. So, but we're not one, two, three, repeat after me. Lie number three, that we don't believe in repentance. That we don't believe in repentance. Okay, well the word repent is in the Bible many times. Okay, and you know who repents the most in the whole Bible? Who repents the most in the whole Bible? God. God does. Okay, so they believe that we don't believe in repentance, but, hold on a second, we don't believe repentance that you believe what you think it means. We don't believe what they think it means. Because, look, they think that repentance means that you have to repent of all your sins. To be saved, right? And that repentance is always being sorry for something or whatever. But, you know, God doesn't have any sin. So, then that must not mean what you think it means. Because God doesn't repent of sin, because he doesn't have any sin. And so, what do we believe about repentance? Well, we believe that repentance has to, you have to understand it through the context of what it's talking about. Just like wine, for instance. People think that all wine is alcoholic wine, but you have to get the context of what it's talking about, because there's only one word for wine. That's, you know, and so, it could mean alcoholic, it could mean non-alcoholic. You have to get it out of the context, and the same thing with repentance. So, turn to Matthew chapter 3, verse number 1. Matthew 3, verse number 1, I'll try to hurry up here. Matthew 3, verse number 1. Matthew 3, verse number 1. The Bible says in Matthew 3, 1, it says, In those days came John the Baptist preaching in the wilderness of Judea, and saying, Repent ye, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. So, this is John the Baptist, and what's he saying? Repent, ye. Repent, everybody. You need to repent. Okay? That's what he's saying. For the kingdom of heaven is at hand. For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet of Zias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his path straight. Case closed. We're wrong. You know, it is saying repent ye. Does it say repent ye of your sins there? Anybody catch repent ye of your sins there? Now, you know why? Because they just add of your sins in their mind automatically to say that you have to repent of your sins. See, it's saying you have to repent of your sins. Well, you know what repent means? It means to turn, or it means to change your mind about something. And let me prove to you that this is not what John was, John was not preaching that you have to repent of your sins. I'll prove it to you. Turn to Acts chapter 19, verse number 1. And Paul gives us the commentary on what John was preaching. Okay? John, Acts chapter 19, verse number 1 says, And it came to pass, Acts 19-1, And it came to pass, that while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coast, came to Ephesus, and finding certain disciples, and he said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. Talking about John the Baptist. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, this is what he said, you've got to pay really close attention here, saying unto the people that they should believe on him who should come after him. That is on Christ. So what is the repentance that John was preaching? That you have to believe on Christ. You have to believe on Jesus Christ. That's what he was saying. That's what he was preaching. It wasn't repent of your sins. Because Paul would have said, you know he says the baptism of repentance saying, this is what he was saying. He wasn't saying, Repent ye of your sins everybody. You know why he wasn't saying that? Because it's impossible to repent of all your sins. It's impossible to turn from all your sins. And so these wicked people that are teaching that you have to repent of all your sins to be saved, are lying and they're devils and they're straight out of the pit of hell. It's not that they just have a misunderstanding about it. You know why we're new IFB? Because the old IFB has been infiltrated by people that believe this garbage. And that's why we said, you know what, I'm done, I'm going to do something else. You know what, when we started this church three years ago, that was one of the main things that I just could not stand about the old IFB. Because even if they weren't repent of your sins for salvation, they still catered and kowtowed and they just allowed these people to be in their churches. And they would allow people that believe like that to intermingle with the people that believe the right things. And they were one thing to one person and one thing to another person. One person they'd say, oh yeah, you've got to repent of all your sins. And the other person they'd say, oh no, you don't have to repent of your sins. It's just believe. So basically you have two different camps. You have one that just flat out says you have to repent of all your sins to be saved. And the other one that just won't make a stand either way. You know why? Because they don't want to lose tithing members. That's why. And so what did John preach? That you must believe on, where was I at here? Let's see, okay, verse 4. Then said Paul, John, verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people that they should believe on him which should come after him. That is on Christ. So what is the gospel? You must believe on Christ to be saved. It's not repent of all your sins. Hey, whatever you're believing, you have to change your mind and believe on Christ. Whatever it is, if you were believing before that it was Christ and your works, you've got to repent. You've got to change your mind and believe on Christ alone for salvation. That's what we teach here, that repentance means. And you know why we teach that? Because it says it right here in the Bible. I showed you, I proved it to you what he was preaching. It wasn't repent of your sins. It was believe on Christ and be saved. And if you look at the book of John, you'll never find the word repent of your sins in there. You'll never find the word repent in there. You'll find, hey, believe on Christ. Believe, believe, believe over and over again, right? So turn to Jonah chapter 3, and I'll put this baby to bed here. Jonah chapter number 3. So what is lie number 3? Lie number 3 is we don't believe in repentance. But hold on, we do believe in repentance. We just don't believe it the way you do. We believe in the biblical definition of repentance. And this is where you're going to get your biggest and your best snapshot of what it really truly means to turn. Jonah chapter 3 verse 9 says, who can tell if God will turn and repent and turn away from his fierce anger that we perish not? See just in this verse alone, God, who can tell if God will turn and repent? So does that mean he's repenting of his sins? No, because God doesn't have sins and God can't commit sin. So that can't be what it means. I mean, that should just show you right there. Now look at verse 10. So what did God want the people of Nineveh to do? He wanted them to get saved, but he also wanted them to stop doing the wicked things that they were doing. Which they did both, okay? Look at verse 10, it says, and God saw their works. Because if you back up a few verses it says, and the people of Nineveh believed God. Jonah came in preaching, Jonah came in preaching the truth. They got saved, the king got saved, they called a fast, even the animals were putting on sackcloth and ashes. They were dead serious about repenting of their sins, okay? There's nothing wrong with repenting of your sins as long as you're not counting on that for salvation. You believe the Bible first, you believe the word of God, you get saved, and then you start to repent of your sins. And it's called sanctification. It's a process that will last till the day you die. Or you're raptured up into heaven, okay? So look at verse 10. And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way, and God repented of the evil that he said he would do unto them, and did it not. So here again, God is said to be, God repented here, okay? And he didn't repent of his sins, he changed his mind. He said, you know what, I was going to destroy them, but since they did what I asked them to do, I'm not going to destroy them. That's repentance, he changed his mind, okay? But here's the thing, it says, turning from your evil way, look at verse 10 again, and God saw their works. What are works? Doing, you know, good things or not doing bad things, right? He saw their works. In Ephesians 2, 8, and 9 it says, For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves. It is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. Okay? God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way, and God repented of the evil that he said he would do unto them, and he did not. So, what did they do? They turned from their wicked way, didn't they? They turned from their evil way. And God said that it was works. Because turning your life, you know, God's going to give you the Holy Spirit, he's going to give you all the advantages you have of a saved person, he's going to help you try to repent of your sins, but I'll tell you what, till the day you die, you're never going to repent of all your sins. And when someone gets up behind the sacred desk of God's pulpit right here, and says, you've got to turn from your sins, you've got to stop sinning to be saved, that's a lie straight out of the pit of hell. Because that's not true. Because the Bible says all you have to do to be saved is believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. And so when someone sits there and tells us that we don't believe in repentance, that we don't believe, look, the Bible defines it for you right there, buddy. And so quit passing off that garbage as truth. Look, we do believe repentance, that's a lie. But we just don't believe it like you do. Because what you believe about repentance is sending people to hell. Number four, we hate the Jews. That's another lie. Lie number four, we hate the Jews. And this is a real short point. So lie number four, we hate the Jews. So turn to 2 Peter 3, verse 9, and I'm going to use the word repentance again, just to show that I believe in repentance. 2 Peter 3, 9, here's what people will say about us. Because we believe in something that's called, you know, I guess they call it replacement theology, but God said that, you know, Jesus told the Jews, therefore shall the kingdom of God be taken from you. So this was the kingdom of God, the Jews had it, God said I'm going to take it from you and give it to the nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. That is the people, you know, the people that are saved. Okay, so the physical nation of Israel had the, you know, God gave them the kingdom and told them to go preach and give people saved and all that stuff, and they had the oracles of God, they had the word of God, they were hand copying those things for thousands of years, but they kept messing up and they became fruitless. And you know what they started preaching? They started preaching works. They started preaching racism and works. That you have to work to get, you know, make sure you wash your hands, or you're going to hell, you know. And so basically they started teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. And when Jesus came, they were at their worst. You know, basically making people two fold more the child of hell than they were themselves. And so he said, you know what, I'm taking the kingdom from you and I'm giving it to someone else. What does that mean? They've been replaced. Okay? That's what it means. When you take something from somebody and give it to somebody else, then you replace them, right? You fire somebody, you're the boss. You fire someone and you give the job to somebody else. Are they replaced or not? Yes. So the Jews got fired. Like Donald Trump used to say, you're fired. Right? But you know, and I'm not supporting Donald Trump, just so you know. That's a funny saying though. It's like winning, right? Anyway, so look, the Bible says in 2 Peter 3, 9, it says, The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness, but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. And so what does that mean? Well, he wants, if repentance in this context he's talking about, he's not willing that any should perish. In John 3, 16 it says, For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. And so in this verse it's saying, He's not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. So what does he want people to do? He wants people to get saved. It's not saying, I want all people to repent of all their sins. It's not what he's talking about. He's talking about people being saved. So I believe the Bible and I believe that verse and I believe that God wants all people to be saved. We don't hate the Jews. We want them to be saved just like anybody else. What we hate is their religion. Their religion is sending people to hell and they're not God's chosen people anymore because Jesus said that they were replaced. He said, I'm taking the kingdom of God away from you, giving it forth to a nation, bringing forth the fruits thereof. So what's the real truth? What are they really trying to get out here? Well, turn to Psalm 139 and verse 19. What they're really trying to say is that we hate the Jews because, you know, we do hate certain people. That is true. It's not the Jews, though. We hate people that hate God. And why do we do that? Well, it basically goes back to the same thing that I've been teaching about this whole morning is that we believe the Bible, okay? And the Bible says in Ecclesiastes there's a time to love and there's a time to hate. Hey, you can't rip that out of the Bible. Everybody, even people that aren't saved know that verse. There's a time to love and a time to hate. You know, there's some people that, there was a guy that tried to kidnap somebody at the mall yesterday at Vancouver Mall, tried to kidnap a 14-year-old kid, and you know what? The guy had already tried to do it years before in 2015 where he tried to kidnap a 4-year-old child. And how he got out of jail, I have no idea. But I'll tell you what. That person is a worker of iniquity. He's a wicked person. He didn't deserve a second chance because you know why? Because those type of people will do the same thing again. What do you think he was trying to do? Take him for a picnic? No. He was trying to do something really evil and wicked. What happens to most people that get kidnapped in those situations? They either get killed. Most of the time they don't get away. And then they do weird things to them that I will not mention from the pulpit. But Psalm 139 verse 19, this is David saying this, okay? Surely thou will slay the wicked, O God. Depart from me therefore, you bloody men, for they speak against thee wickedly. Who are they speaking against? They're speaking against God. And thine enemies take thy name in vain. Do not I hate them, O Lord, that hate thee? Am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee? I hate them with perfect hatred. I count them mine enemies. Search me, O God, and know my heart. Try me and know my thoughts and see if there be any wicked way in me. And lead me in the way everlasting. Okay? This is not Muslim. This is not Old Testament different God. Look, it's the same God. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Okay? God does not change. It's an immutable fact that God does not change. And so if that's true, then what he said in Psalm 139 still applies today. And so do we hate the Jews? Of course we don't hate the Jews. We don't hate any race of people, as you would call it, because we're all of one blood. The Bible says that God made us of all the world of one blood. Look around. There's different colors of people all over in here. We're not racist. What we hate, who we hate, are people that hate God. So if a Jew happens to hate God, then yes, I would hate them. Because we're supposed to love our enemies, our personal enemies. Okay? I'm not saying that we're not supposed to love our personal enemies. We are supposed to love our personal enemies. People that, like, give you a hard time at work, or people that just, your neighbor that, you know, keeps complaining about your lawn not being perfectly edged the way it's supposed to be. Those are your personal enemies. Those people are not supposed to hate. The Bible says love your enemies. Okay? Love your enemies. But this verse says, Do not I hate them that hate thee? Am I not grieved with those that rise up against thee? I hate them with perfect hatred. And then a couple of verses later, David's saying, Search me, O God, and know my heart. Try me and know my thoughts, and see if there be any wicked way in me. Do you think God would have let this in the Bible if he didn't agree with David? Of course he agreed with David. The Holy Spirit is the one that inspired David to put this in the Bible. So look, maybe people have just been, you know, seduced with this hate doctrine so much, the false teaching of it, that we're never supposed to hate anything. That person that tried to kidnap that 14-year-old person yesterday, you know what, I hate them with the perfect hatred. And you know why? Because they're a herder of children. They're a worker of iniquity, and they hate God. They can't be fixed. And so, yes, I do hate them, and I hope they give them the death penalty, but I know that they're not going to. They'll probably get out in another six or seven years and try to do it again. So do I hate them? Yes, I do. I don't hate the Jews, though. I only hate people that hates God, and God hates people that hate him. And people can be mad about that all they want, but look, it says that he's not willing, and he should perish. Well, isn't that a contradiction, Pastor Thompson? No, because God gives everybody a chance. God gives everybody a choice. And at some point, someone has to make the choice in their heart to reject Christ or to accept him. And if you reject Christ too many times, you become a hater of God, a reprobate, a worker of iniquity. Okay? And your chances are over. So he wasn't willing that you should perish, but you were willing. See, we have free will. This flies in the face of every Calvinist doctrine in the whole world. Look, the Calvinists are wrong about this because God does give us a choice. He's not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But you know what? He gives you free will. He gives you free will to make your own choices. People make their own choices, but you know what? If you make your bed, you better be prepared to lay in it. Because you don't always have till your dying breath on your death bed to be saved. Okay? And I'm not even going to get to number five because I'm way past time. But I am going to preach a part two about this next week. And tonight I'll be in more happy things. Okay? Tonight I'll be in Psalm chapter six. So anyway, you know, I want to set the record straight. And the thing is that people that go to churches where we're being lied about too, they hate us automatically because they go, Oh, that Stephen Anderson. Oh, that Pastor Thompson. Oh, that Pastor Jimenez. They believe this, this, and this. But you know what? I want to straighten these people out. And hopefully one of these people that goes to these churches realizes, Hey, you don't have to come to our church. We're not a cult. We're not trying to force anybody here. Okay? But maybe you could get a better perspective about what we really believe. Because what is being spread about us is flat out lies. Okay? At least tell the truth. At least try to refute the doctrine. You know what people do that can't refute a doctrine? They lie about that person. They lie about that doctrine. And then hope that people believe it. Because people are dumb. A lot of people are. Not everybody. You guys are all smart. But some people are dumb. And they'll believe anything that their pastor says. And without even proving it in the Bible. You know what? Did I prove everything from the Bible today? Amen. Okay. Well, part two is next week. All right, let's pray. Heavenly Father, pray for this people. Lord, I pray that we'd always be a people of the book. That we'd always be followers of Christ. And that we would never be, Lord, just people that just bury our head in the sand and believe whatever anybody says. I pray, Lord, that people that have bad views of our type of church or our church here. That, Lord, that they would just actually see for themselves what we do believe. And, Lord, that they'd make a judgment call based upon what the Bible says and not what people lie about us about. So, in Jesus' name we pray, Lord. Amen.
