It is our service times and our soul winning times as well as the salvations and baptisms for the year. In case you don't know, Pastor Shelley is here tonight. Why? Because in case you didn't read the bulletin last Sunday night, he is preaching for us today as Pastor Anderson is on another missions trip for the week, just reconning and getting people saved. Amen. And once again, for those that participated in the February online Soul Winning Marathon, thank you to everyone that took part in that. And we had eight soul winners and 59 salvations. A reminder to the parents, please supervise your children before, during and after church service. To ensure in respect of everyone, please remind your little ones to not run roughhouse within the church buildings. And the mother baby rooms are not to be used unsupervised. And thank you much. And in case you don't know, every week we have many donations of food and other items that are available free for the taking on the tables near the fellowship area. There's also a lost and found over there. And please continue to pray for the respective ladies. Upcoming events are right there. Take a look at those when you get a chance. And now let's go over the soul winning for the week. So if you got somebody saved on Monday, go ahead and raise your hand and give me the number of salvations starting on this side. Any salvations for Monday? Is that four? Any other salvations for Monday? Tuesday. Salvations for Tuesday. I got three right here. We got one over here. And going once, going twice. Is that three? Three in the back. Any other salvations? And today. Any salvations? Is that one? One back there. Any other salvations? Is that two? We got two. Any other salvations? Going once, going twice. Pastor Shaley, where are you hiding? There you are. You're leading us in the next song, correct? All right. If you need a song sheet, we got a big 8 and a half by 11 piece of paper for you, which is the song sheet that you will need for the song that we're about to sing that's going to be led by Pastor Shaley. Another announcement real quick, but I wanted to sing this hymn. It's something I wrote. It's just kind of about soul winning. And with all of the cruise missions that you guys have been leading on, it just kind of inspired me to want to sing this song with you guys tonight. And so I'm going to be singing the first verse just to give you a taste, and then we'll restart and we can sing the first verse together and go down. I also wanted to mention our group, our church was inspired by you guys doing a lot of cruise missions to have our own cruise missions trip. And so we sent four people from our church out on a cruise mission this week. And they're going to Nassau, Bahamas, St. Thomas, and St. John. And so far, they ended up having 95 salvations in the Bahamas, nine salvations on the boat, and another 42 in St. Thomas. So they've had 146 salvations, just four people in this week. So praise the Lord on that. And yeah. Things like that would just never happen without you guys. You guys are really inspirational and innovative. And so that really inspires me. But we're going to be singing this new hymn that I wrote. It's called Where the Spirit Blows. One little thing that we like to do at our church, and the kids get really into this, okay? So you kids have to pay attention. But at the very end, it says, we will go. But instead of just singing it, you've got to give me a loud shout for the go. So it's going to be, we will go. And you've got to just really shout it, okay? And you can lift up your hand. You can get excited. This is okay. You can get excited in church, right? We're not going full Pentecostal or anything. We're just getting a little bit excited, all right? And so I'm going to sing this first verse just to give you a taste so you can kind of learn it a little bit. And then when we go back, we're going to sing that first verse together. Jesus told me over land and sea, red, black, and white, sweet in His sight, where the Spirit blows, we will go, go, go, go, where the Spirit blows, we will go. All right, you ready? Let's do it on the first. Jesus told me over land and sea, red, black, and white, sweet in His sight, where the Spirit blows, we will go, go, go, go, where the Spirit blows, we will go. We are alive and proud to wear you down, not just the Jews, let us show his hues, where the Spirit blows, we will go, go, go, go, where the Spirit blows, we will go. Where the Spirit blows, we will go, go, go, where the Spirit blows, we will go. We eat lots and thousand rice to have, but he arose, rushing our host, where the Spirit blows, we will go, go, go, go, where the Spirit blows, we will go. On the last. He healed the lame, called upon His name, saved on those days, can't cease the graves, where the Spirit blows, we will go, go, go, go, where the Spirit blows, we will go. Thank you so much, and Brother Alex is going to lead the next song. All right, next, if you would, turn in your hymnals to song number 314. Song number 314, More Love to Thee. Song number 314. We'll sing all four verses this evening, song number 314. Sing it out. More love to Thee, O Christ, more love to Thee. Hear thou the prayer I give unto Thee. This is my earnest plea, more love O Christ to Thee, more love to Thee, more love to Thee. Once earthy joy I pray, sought this and rest. Now Thee, O Lord, I sing, give what is best. This all my prayer shall be, more love O Christ to Thee, more love to Thee, more love to Thee. Let sorrow do its work and dream like pain. Sing, O Lord, my messenger, sing in every frame. When they can see her fame, more love O Christ to Thee, more love to Thee, more love to Thee. Then shall my latest friend whisper thy praise. This deed thou art in pride, thy heart shall praise. This still its prayer shall be, more love O Christ to Thee, more love to Thee, more love to Thee. Amen. Everybody, great singing. Alright, at this time we're going to pass the operating plates. May I ask the operating plates are being passed around. Please turn your Bibles to the Book of Jude. Please turn your Bibles to the Book of Jude. The General Epistle of Jude. Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father and preserved in Jesus Christ and called, mercy unto you and peace and love be multiplied. Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you and exhort you that you should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. For there are certain men, crept and unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness and denying the only Lord God in our Lord Jesus Christ. I will therefore put you in remembrance, though you once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believe not. And the angels, which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, He hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness, under the judgment of the great day. Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over unto fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities. Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil, he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. But these speak evil of those things, which they know not, but what they know, naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves. Woe unto them, for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Corey. These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear, clouds they are without water, carried about of winds, trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots, raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame, wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever. And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, to execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds, which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts, and their mouths speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage. But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, how that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life, and of some having compassion, making a difference, and others, save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory, with exceeding joy, to the only wise God, our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. Dear Father, heaven, please fill Pastor Shelley with your spirit. Please give us all ears to hear, to receive wisdom and understanding from the sermon. Let's hear them, we pray, in Jesus' name, Amen. Amen. I want to say thank you very much to Pastor Anderson for having me out here, and to see you guys, and a lot of familiar faces out there, and I really love you guys, and I love this church so much, and so it's a great honor and privilege to be back here with you guys. I do want to say I appreciate how many people have taken some of the advice they gave in the past about going to the Bahamas seriously, because it really is soul winning, made easy, and it's a lot of fun. And even if you're not planning on going on one of these cruise missions trips necessarily, our church is actually hosting this year in October, October 6th through the 11th, a Bahamas missions trip, so if you want to just go direct to the Bahamas, that is a trip that our church is going to be doing, and of course you can email us if you're planning on attending, and we can try to help you with the schedule and itinerary and everything like that, but the Bahamas is a great place to go soul winning. Also, at the end of August, August 28th through the 31st, our church is going to be having our Fire Breathing Baptist Fellowship Conference, and your pastor, Pastor Steven Anderson, is going to be out there preaching for us, as well as many others. I haven't really made a huge announcement about that yet, but I'm just giving you guys, since I'm here in the flesh, giving you that kind of a tip, all right? So if you're interested in ever coming out to Texas, the Promised Land is not that far away, okay? So you can always come out there and see me. But no, I'm just making a joke, of course. I love Phoenix. I love being out here with Faith Ward Baptist Church, and it's great to see you guys again. This evening, I want to preach a sermon here based on verse 11, and we see the Bible says, Woe unto them, for they have gone in the way of Cain. Now, in Jude, it's talking about false prophets and false teachers, and it brings up different motivations for these false prophets, or essentially downfalls. Here, we have Cain being brought up. Additionally, in this verse, it brings up going after the reward of Balaam, Balaam for reward, or the gainsaying of Kor. And really, what I want to talk about, though, is the way of Cain. Going after the reward is what we think of as preachers preaching for money, preaching lies, and just simply just wanting to become filthy rich or filthy lucre. We talk about the gainsaying of Kor. This is someone that was really lifting themselves up, wanted to essentially be in a position of power and authority, and was really just kind of attacking the people of God. You lift yourselves up among the congregation, attacking Moses, going against him, and just gainsaying, just being contrary to everything. We talk about the way of Cain. I think it's a little bit different. It's really where someone just gets filled with envy, hatred towards their brother, and it could lead to them wanting to kill their brother, literally. Now, go to 1 John 3. We're introduced here to this idea of the way of Cain, but it doesn't really explain it in the book of Jude. However, in 1 John 3, the Bible kind of gives us a little bit of an insight as to what was going on with Cain. Now, Cain, of course, is a character of antiquity. He's one of the first characters in the Bible. We have Cain and Abel. Cain is the first man to ever be born. He is the first son ever born to Adam and Eve, and Cain ends up rising up against his brother and killing him. Now, we're going to get to that story in a minute, but let's see the motivation first. It says in 1 John 3, verse 12, Not is Cain, who is of that wicked one, and slew his brother, and wherefore slew him, because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous. So the Bible's telling us that we need to love our brother. Cain did not love his brother, but ended up killing his brother. Why? Or wherefore? It's because he was evil and his brother was righteous. He didn't like that his brother was righteous and he was evil, and so he wanted to kill his brother for envy's sake. It says in this passage, as we keep reading, Marvel not my brethren if the world hate you. So, in the same vein, the world is going to hate God's people, is going to hate the righteous because they're righteous. That is why they hate the righteous, is because they're better than them. It's because they're doing things that are pleasant in God's sight. God has respect unto our works and our lives, and so they are envious of God's attention. They're envious of God's affection. They're envious of us being righteous, and so therefore they hate us and they want to destroy us in many cases. The Bible says in verse 14, We know that we have passed from death and life because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death, whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer. Now, where this envy and hatred leads, unfortunately, is it often leads to murder. Murder in their heart is a concept that the Bible brings up, but also just literal physical bloodshed, literal murder. And Cain literally murdered his brother. Go over to Genesis chapter 4. Let's go to that story now. And this evening, I'm going to go through a lot of Bible, so you have to try and keep up with me, but I want to go through a lot of Bible. And I ended up realizing that I don't actually preach really long sermons. I just don't talk as fast as Brother Segura. So, if I actually spoke as fast as Brother Segura, I'd have, like, normal, linked sermons, but because I'm not as fast of a speaker as he is, you know, my sermons are so much longer. But it's not that I'm necessarily, you know, giving out that much more information. It's just he's disseminating so quickly, okay? So, maybe I could become a faster speaker at some point, but I do have a lot of information I'd like to share this evening, and we're going to study a couple characters in the Bible here about how they kind of go through this progression of the way of Cain. Let's start with Cain himself. Look at verse number three. Cain talked with Abel's brother, and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and slew him. So, now we have a pretty simple story. Cain and Abel, they both offer something unto God. Cain offers the fruit of the ground. Abel offers the firstlings of the flock. God has respect unto Abel's offering. God does not have respect unto Cain's offering. Cain becomes very upset. The Bible says very wroth. That's like wrath, extreme anger, and that extreme anger is then shifted towards his brother, Abel, and we see him rising up and slaying his own brother, Abel, even though Abel has done nothing to Cain. Abel did not hurt Cain. Abel has not done anything to justify this kind of wicked behavior. Abel would never have hurt his brother Cain. It is just simply because Abel is righteous that he hates him and wants to destroy him. And I kind of notice the pattern in this story as well as other stories that are similar, but you'll kind of notice a pattern of the way it came. It typically starts with envy. You basically have it start with envy, that envy will then turn into hatred, that hatred will then turn into believing lies, and then it will turn into actually attacking your brother. And we kind of see here with Cain specifically, number one, he envies his brother because his brother's offering was accepted and his was not. And you can see the envy of how God was pleased with Abel and he's not pleased with Cain, and therefore this envy kind of sets in, and then it causes him to have great hatred as the Bible says he's very wroth. He became very angry and his anger gets settled on his brother. Now what should he have done is he should have recognized that his offering was trash and realized that his offering was not what God wanted and then offered the right offering. That would have been the right thing to do, but then he's going to stick to his lies of his works-based salvation which is offering the fruit of the ground. And you often notice that people that go down the way of Cain, they end up harkening lies, believing lies, or being stuck on lies and they can't get things right. And so Cain is a picture of work salvation, how he's offering the fruit of his works, whereas Abel's offering the flock and offering the picture of salvation by faith and Jesus Christ. What is the flock? The flock is a sacrifice. The animals sacrificed for Abel, whereas the fruit is just a picture of his works. And this is the only two religions in the world. Cain's works-based salvation and you have Abel's salvation by faith through the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ and the picture of the firstling of the flock. So you kind of have this loose example here and I know I'm reading a little bit between the lines here. I'm going to show you a few more examples of this in a minute. But you see this envy turning into hatred. He's stuck on his lies of work salvation and he can't handle it. So what does he do? He attacks his brother. And unfortunately in this story he was successful. He wanted to kill him, he plotted to kill him, and he literally killed his brother Abel. And that's where envy will take you. It will take you down the way of Cain where your envy will turn into hatred, which will cause you to be blinded and cause you to hate your brother and then cause you to even literally attack your brother or kill him. Go back to 1 John for a moment. Go back to 1 John. I want to show you another verse here. 1 John chapter number 2. And I want to show you what the Bible teaches. Now Cain, the Bible says, was of that wicked one. The book of Jude is written for us to understand there's going to be false prophets and false teachers. And we want to gain that wisdom. But I don't believe that God only wants us to understand the way of Cain from a false prophet's perspective because none of us are false prophets. If you're a false prophet you can leave at any time. We hate you. We don't like anything about you or your face. Die. Just go straight to hell, Cor. You know what I mean? We're not in here like, hey, we need to learn how to not be a false prophet. But what we can do is we can gain some wisdom from the fact that we learn what false prophets are like and some of the pathways that go down and making sure that we don't go down similar pathways. Because even same people, I believe, can go down this way of Cain where they have envy, where they end up hating, where they start believing lies, and then they'll attack their brother. Now 1 John chapter 2, look at verse 9. He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. He that loveth his brother biteth in the light, and there's none occasion of stumbling in him. But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whether he goeth because that darkness hath blinded his eyes. According to the Bible, when you start hating your brother, you become blind. Now not literally blind, spiritually blind. And that spiritual blindness will cause you to do things like believe lies, believe heresy, believe all kinds of junk, false accusations. And that it'll cause you to then end up attacking your brother when you shouldn't be attacking your brother in Christ. We shouldn't be attacking other saved believers. We shouldn't be attacking the saved. We should love our brother and do good unto our brother. That's the commandment that's given here in 1 John over and over and over. Go over to 1 Samuel chapter 18. But this can happen to saved people. Who is probably the best example of this is King Saul. King Saul is someone who's definitely saved, went to heaven. But King Saul hated his brother. And King Saul hated his brother David, and he wants to destroy David. Now think about what I've already taught you, and kind of some of the pictures here. What happens first? Envy. Then hatred. Then believing lies, and then attacking your brother. Let's see if Saul follows this similar pattern. Look at verse number 6. And it came to pass as they came when David was returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, that the women came out of all the cities of Israel singing and dancing to meet King Saul with tabernacles, with joy, and with instruments of music. And the women answered one another as they played and said, Saul has slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands. And Saul was very wroth. And the saying displeased him, and he said, They have ascribed unto David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed but thousands. And what can he have more but the kingdom? And Saul eyed David from that day and forward. So we have a story here about Saul. Everything with him and David is pretty much great up to this point. I mean, pretty much leading up to this point, they're buddies. He's his armor bearer. He's playing the harp for him. He just killed Goliath. I mean, everything seems hunky and dory until a bunch of ladies start saying, Hey, David's better than King Saul. And he just can't handle it that ladies that are playing. I mean, think about it. What did the Bible even say about these ladies? It says in verse number six, it says to meet King Saul. Their primary goal was to praise Saul, meet Saul, and sing Saul. Sing about Saul. But of course, if you're a king, you may not always be the best warrior, right? I mean, you might not be the one that does the most action. So who are they going to praise in your conquering quest or your battle? They're probably going to praise your best warrior, which was David at the time. So they came to meet King Saul. They're praising King Saul. And you know what? It's actually praising King Saul to praise King David because King David, it's not a king yet, sorry, brother David, because brother David is on his team, right? I mean, you're thinking like, Hey, you're a great king. Look at your awesome warrior that's on your team, that's on your side. It would be like if I came to Fable or Baptist Church and it's like, Hey, Pastor Anderson's a great pastor and he has this really great church member that gets lots of people saved. It's still praising the pastor. It's still lifting up the pastor because you're talking positively about the pastor. But no, King Saul, he can't handle it that not everything's about him. He's what you would call, and these people love this word, narcissist. Okay, he's a narcissist where everything has to be about him. And it's like, Hey, they're giving David more credit for the victories out there than me. You know, you should always ask yourself this question. No matter what state, is it true? Right? If Saul's going to get mad about this, shouldn't you just ask the question, but is it true? Hey, they gave David more credit than they gave me, but is it true? Because if it's true, then you should not get upset about it. We should not get upset about the truth, no matter how it makes us look, or no matter how much we don't like the truth, we should always like the truth. And look, this isn't even an unpleasant truth. Hey, you're second place in the whole world. Wow, that's not that bad, is it? But some people can't be second place in the whole world. They have to be literally number one, even if it's not true. Even if he's not the best warrior, he has to be number one. So you can see how very quickly Saul follows this victim of envy. He doesn't like that David's getting more recognition, getting any attention above him, so he has envy towards his brother, which then turns into hatred. Notice he's very wroth in verse number eight. Verse nine, Saul eyed David, so now he's looking at David, he's upset with David, and of course, what would be the lie? Well, in verse number eight it says, and what can he have more but the kingdom? And here's the thing, Saul, especially when you get in later chapters of this 1 Samuel, you realize that Saul kind of has built this conspiracy theory against himself, where he essentially thinks that David is out to get him, David's not loyal, David wants to kill Saul, when it's the farthest thing from the truth. David would never take the kingdom from Saul, David would never harm Saul, and we even see that modeled later in the story, because David has an opportunity to kill Saul, or to harm Saul, and he chooses not to twice to prove that he never would harm King Saul, and basically that his conspiracy theory is a lie. That is not even true. But you know what, when you're blinded with envy and hatred, you'll believe anything against your enemy. You'll believe any conspiracy theory, any accusation, because you just hate them in your heart, so you just instantly believe anything and everything about that person that's wrong. And then, of course, what does he do? He tries to attack him, right? Let's keep reading here. What does it say in verse number 10? And it came to pass on the moral that the evil spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house, and David played with his hand, as did other times, and there was a javelin in Saul's hand, and Saul cast the javelin, for he said, I will smite David even to the wall with it, and David avoided out of his presence twice. I would love to ask David, like, why did you go back? Right? Like, you're just hanging out with Saul, and he literally tries to kill you, and then he did it a second time. At least he's no fool to do it the third time, right? At least he's like, hey, I'm not going to let that happen a third time, okay? The first time I was lucky, apparently. But notice that pattern again that Saul falls victim of. He gets envious of David, he hates David, he's believing lies about David, and then he tries to attack David. Go to 2 Samuel, chapter number 15, go to 2 Samuel, chapter number 15. Now, I'm trying to just explain this to you at first, and then I'm going to give you some application. Now, a lot of you probably have already thought of all kinds of applications, because you're filled with the spirit of God, and you know what? So you can make all kinds of applications, but you know what? I want to prove this point again in the Bible before we really make some of our own applications. Look at 2 Samuel, chapter 15, and look at verse number 3. The Bible says, And Absalom said unto him, See, thy matters are good and right, but there is no man deputed of the king to hear thee. So all these people are wanting to see David, they run into his son, Absalom. And Absalom is saying, hey, everything that you believe and think is right. It's not even just right, it's good. It's good and right. It's great. This is what you call flattery, okay? I mean, who in here thinks that there's another person in this room that every one of their thoughts is always good and right? Your wife doesn't think that at all, okay? No one thinks that about anyone. It's silly. I mean, it's just ridiculous. Hey, I don't even know what you have to say. I just know it's good already. I just already believe it, okay? It's good and right. He says, but you know what, David, he's busy. He's on a cruise mission trip or something, you know? I mean, he can't talk to you, you know? There's nobody here to talk to you, just me, you know? I'm here and I like what you have to say. He says in verse 4, But Absalom said moreover, Oh, that I were made judge in the land, that every man which hath any suit or cause might come unto me, and I would do him justice. He's a social justice warrior. I mean, he stands for justice and for what is right and for what is good. You know, this other side is bad and they don't stand for justice like I do. You know, if I were the judge, then it would be just. This is how evil people always talk about themselves. They're always good, right, just, and they're on everybody's side except for David's, right? Everybody in the entire kingdom, everything they have to say is good and right except for David. Think about that. Am I really supposed to believe of the entire kingdom of Israel that he's only one bad person and the one bad person is David? Everybody else is good. This sounds like Kor, kind of. It's like the gainsaying of Kor, really, if you think about it. But he's kind of falling victim of the same strategy that we have of Cain here. He says in verse number 5, And it was so that when any man came nigh to him to do him obeisance, he put forth his hand and took him and kissed him. So it's just like he is just over the top of the flattery. Just, oh, man, you're so good and right. And he gives him a kiss and gives him a hug, gives him a $1,000 check. I mean, you know, whatever, you know, just for you, you know? He just loves everybody, just does them good, nice kisses and everything like that. And it's just so obvious that this guy is not sincere. If I came up to somebody, it's like, I have a serious matter. They're like, you're already right. I'd be like, well, you haven't even heard. Yeah, I just know it's right. Do you want a kiss? No. Like I would think like this is weird. There's something off about this, right? That's what you call flattery. Look, flattery is insincere. I want someone to hear what I had to say and then I want them to hear the other side and then say, hey, I agree with you because then I'm not feeling like they're just saying something to appease me. Then I feel like they actually care about what I'm saying and actually rightly judged. They're not just sitting here just telling me what I want to hear. People tell you what you want to hear. Go to a lawyer. Every lawyer, I mean, you go to a lawyer, every case is good because you're going to pay them. You know the lawyer could lose every single case and still get paid? Because they get paid up front. So why would they ever tell you that your matters aren't good and right? Okay. That was just some free advice there. You take whatever you want. Lawyers are fun. Sorry if you're a lawyer out there, okay? It's the 99% of you all that make the 1% look bad, okay? Verse number 11, let's skip in the story. I need to speed up for the sake of time. It says, and with Absalom went 200 men out of Jerusalem that were called and they went in their simplicity and they knew not anything. Now, Absalom ends up creating a conspiracy against his father, grabs 200 useful idiots. They're probably hanging out in the ex-new-I-B group, okay? And so he grabs these 200 people that don't know anything and he's just like, hey, come with me to attack. You know, we're going to attack David. They don't even know what's going on. They don't even know their left hand from the right hand, okay? They have no agreement with each other. They're heretics, modalists, oneness, non-King James only, salvation by works, whatever. They only have one thing in common. They're an idiot, okay? And they have this common rallying person, Absalom, that they're going to follow and they're going to do whatever he says. Now, we can see in the story, number one, Absalom obviously envies David because he says, I want to be judge of the land. So we see that initial pattern of envy. Then we have the hatred, which is pretty obvious when you're conspiring against your dad and going to kill him. That's pretty obvious when you have hatred for him. Then, of course, when we talk about believing lies for Absalom specifically, we're going to bring up a couple. He really, because he has this hatred for his dad, he ends up believing some weird lies. Look what it says in 2 Samuel, chapter 16, verse 21. That is bad advice. That is weird advice to do such a thing. In fact, it violates the law. It violates the Word of God. It's just a clear and obvious sin that's super wicked. And Ahithophel is like, hey, why don't you do this evil, super wicked sin? And what's the point? The point is to prove that he's going to go all the way. He's going to try and basically make it clear. I'm not on God's side, so who else is going to be with me that's not going to be on God's side? The Bible says a ruler that hearkens to lies, all his servants are wicked. And so when you see someone say, hey, I'm going to sleep on my father's concubines and then they're going to go off the ledge with him, just know they're all wicked. All the people that are following this person and believing this weird lie, he's like, hey, this is going to make everybody be strong with you because you're going to be a horde of thy father. It says at the end of this verse, then shall the hands of all that are with thee be strong. They're emboldened by his sin. That is not somebody you want on your team, that when you sin, they become strong. They become emboldened. They become, you know, basically empowered. You don't want that. You want people to be upset that you sinned or did wrong or did evil. Now in chapter 17, he believes another lie. Look at verse 14. And Absalom and all the men of Israel said, the council of Hushai the Archite is better than the council of Hithil. I've been going through this story for a sake of time, but Hithil gives great advice unto Absalom to kill his dad saying, hey, they're weak, they're tired, let's just overtake them right now and you'll probably win. And he was right, most likely. But Hushai is kind of a double agent here. Hushai is playing, you know, the long game here. He's still on David's side. He recognizes that's really dangerous for David. So he's trying to come up with a bozo bad idea on purpose. He's coming up with a bad idea to give unto and to fish unto Absalom. And then when Absalom hears the bad idea, he's like, that was a great idea. Why? Because when you have the spirit of error, you love lies. You love bad takes. You're just always falling on the wrong side of every single decision because you don't have that spirit of truth anymore. God's confounded you because of your blindness. You're walking in darkness. So you can't really see where you're going. And they think, oh, Hushai has better counsel than Hithivel. For the Lord is appointed to defeat the good counsel of Hithivel to the intent that the Lord might bring evil upon Absalom. This is so funny. He literally thinks that God is with him. He thinks that God is going to bless him. And he thinks that this advice is somehow going to give him the victory and it's from God, whereas it's actually the exact opposite. So he just has the exact opposite opinion. He gets it wrong. He doesn't understand the Bible. And, of course, then he goes out to war. He attacks his dad, tries to kill him. And David's men are victorious. They kill Absalom. So with Saul and Absalom, they tried to kill their brother and they failed. Cain did succeed. But we can see a pretty consistent pattern of all of them kind of going in this way of Cain. What's the way of Cain? They envied their brother. They hated their brother. That caused them to end up believing all kinds of lies. And then they attacked their brother. And we can see this happening all in our world today. You can see this happening all the time where people will get this envy bug and this envy bug will lead them down a dark, dark path. And the end is, in many cases, an extreme attack, possibly even murder. And, you know, I kid you not, I've seen some Christians that have gotten so mad at me that I think if they could stab me in the back, literally they would. They are that dangerous of individuals, those kind of people. And, you know, your pastor is a great pastor. He's a great Christian. The Bible says, Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. And, you know, if he's a great Christian, if he has righteous works, if he's getting a lot of people saved, you know what? Someone's getting mad at him. And what's the first step? They're going to be envious. Now, what are they going to be envious of? They're going to be envious of his attention. Because your pastor has gotten a lot of attention. He's reached a lot of people. He has a pretty big voice. And so there's a lot of people that envy that, just like Absalom. Like, oh, I wish I were judged in the land. Oh, I wish I was ascribed my 10,000. And, you know, for many people that are at King Saul out there, it's easier for them to kill one Israelite than 9,000 more Philistines. You know what I mean? Saul could say, hey, I only killed 1,000. Okay, I'll kill 9,000 more, so now I have 10,000. But he's like, that's a lot of work. It'd be a lot easier if I could just kill one guy, and then I'd be at the top of the list again. Because he doesn't really care about killing 10,000 Philistines. He just cares about being at the top of the list. And so for many people to be at the top of the list, it's not to get better. It's not to do more works. It's not to do more missions trips. It's not to do more personal evangelism. It's not to try and reach more people and bring them into your church. It's just to try and take somebody out that's better than you. Why? Because you're envious of them. And, look, there's a lot of people that are envious of Pastor Steven Anderson. Now, they want to destroy him. And think about this from Saul's perspective. This is just crazy. You are a nation that's hated by a lot of people. You have a lot of enemies. Why would you want to take out your best warrior? Why would you want to kill David? Like, they haven't gotten complete peace. They haven't conquered all the other nations. They still have raging wars with the Philistines and with other people. Why in the world, when you're still in the midst of battle, when you're still trying to reclaim a lot of the promised land, would you want to take out your absolute best warrior at that time? It makes no sense. Imagine you're playing professional sports. It's the Super Bowl, or it's the Stanley Cup, or it's the World Series. And you have one player on your team that's just awesome. And you're about to go to the big game. And you're like, let's just kill our best player. You would never do that. But what if you said, you know what? I usually get the second most goals. I usually score the second most points. And I want to get the most points. So let's take out our best player just so I get more points than anybody else in the game. That's a bad attitude. It's a wrong attitude. You should say like, hey, we're on a team. We should try to win here. Why would I want to take out our best player? Not only that, David is loyal to King Saul to a fault. I mean, if there is a fault there, but I'm just saying, like, he's dedicated. He's going to stick with him through thick, through thin, through whatever. He is there by his side. And look, Pastor Anderson is a very loyal person to other Christians and other pastors. Not only that, David's being greatly used by God. Not only that, David increases the morale of all the troops and of all the men of Israel. It gets them excited. And look, that's the same as your pastor. Your pastor is one of the best warriors, if not the best warrior on this earth. Not only that, he's extremely loyal to the things of God and to men of God. Not only that, he's being used by God. And not only that, he increases the morale of Christians around this world. He increases the morale of many soul winners. Yet, how many pastors today, they're so envious of him and they want to destroy and take out David? When it's so funny because it's like, they have a church. In many cases, their church was founded and started by Pastor Anderson. There are people, their church exists because Pastor Anderson either directly or through affiliates started their church. Then he filled their church with people that he reached. Then he would drive out to their church every year to try and bring more people into their church. And then they want to take this guy out. Why? So they can be number one in their church. Because somehow they were number two and they just didn't like it. They didn't like that someone else has started their church. They didn't like that somebody else had brought in more people to their church than them. And they didn't like the fact that even when he shows up, more people come to hear them preach. I actually heard somebody tell me one time. I visited their church and they said, yeah, when Pastor Anderson comes, it's Pastor Anderson Easter. And all these people come out just to hear him preach. And I had somebody email me and say, hey, I'm going to visit the church because I want to hear Pastor Anderson preach. And I replied and said, well, if you only want to come here and preach, you're not welcome. What? Why would you say that? That's envy. It's envy and hatred. Why would you? I mean, like, who cares? Who cares if someone wants to come hear another preacher? If he's better, he's better. I mean, hey, if someone's like, hey, I'm in heaven. And they're like, hey, do you know where David is? I want to shake his hand. They're like, David, what about me? It's like, it's like, yeah, he's over here. I'm in line too, buddy. I remember when I started Pure Words Baptist Church, I thought, you know, there's going to probably be some people that come to our church and they start becoming really zealous. And then eventually maybe they'll want to move to Pastor Anderson's church to the mothership because it's a bigger church. There's more people there. They're doing more trips. They have more events. The weather, for some people, it's better. Like, I like the weather. Pastor Anderson's a better preacher. And I thought, that's great. If I'm a warming pod for his church, then so be it. Because you know what? I went to Faith Word Baptist Church and I was greatly blessed by it. I loved it. Who am I to stand in the way of somebody getting plugged into a great church? But you know what? I'm thinking like, hey, I'm on the same team. I'm thinking, hey, we're trying to win this game and this guy's a better three-point shooter than me. And we only got one shot left in the clock. You know, about three seconds left. I'm going to pass it to him. Hey, we're running down the field and we need to score. I can't score, but he might. Let's pass it to him. You know, who cares? We should be on the same team when it comes to Christianity. Not getting envious, not getting hateful. You know, it's just crazy. But you know what? This is biblical. Go to 2 Timothy chapter 1. It's biblical to see guys start churches, fill the church, and then that entire church want nothing to do with that guy. You would think that that's literally insane, because it is, but it's biblical. Because, you know, insanity is biblical apparently. Most people are literally insane. Look at 2 Timothy chapter 1. Look at verse 15. The Bible says, I mean, it's just crazy. He's like literally started all these churches in Asia. The apostle Paul's like founding these churches. He's writing the epistles to the churches. I mean, you have an epistle in the word of God with your name on it, written by the apostle Paul, and he's not welcome at your church. Because you're insane. And I mean, there are people that have like, their churches started by Pastor Anderson. They got saved by Pastor Anderson. They got baptized by Pastor Anderson. They learned a lot from his preaching, and he's not welcome at their church. You're like, that's insane. That is insane, but it's biblical. Go over to 2 Corinthians chapter 12. Because some people just cannot, cannot appreciate or be thankful to people that do things for them. It's pride. It's pride. And this is what most people think. They think that they finally outgrew Pastor Anderson. Like, they weren't spiritual at all, and they found Pastor Anderson, and they grew a lot, but now they've outgrown Pastor Anderson. Way better of a Christian now. 2 Corinthians chapter number 12. Look at verse 15. The Bible says this, Though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved. This is just so annoying. But it's like you just love people, and you only do good to them, and they'll hate you. It's so weird. I would not believe this if it didn't happen to me. And I mean, I've seen it all the time. Especially when I went to Faith Ward, a lot of people got kicked out, thrown out, left, got disgruntled when I was here. A lot. It was a lot, okay? It was just like insane. And the temptation there was like, you know, what did Pastor Anderson do? The temptation there is it's probably two sides of every story, and you know, I don't know, he probably pissed them off, or did something, or was rude, or whatever. And if I wasn't a pastor, where I've literally done only good to people just repeatedly, and then they just turn on me for no reason, I wouldn't believe it. But it's happened to me so many stinking times, that now I believe it. I'm a believer, man. You can, I mean, you can literally only do super positive things for people, and they'll completely turn on you and hate you for no reason. It's insane, but it's biblical. Somehow it's biblical. Somehow you can literally, and look, this is what God has to go through all the time. Because you know what? God only does good unto us, and look how many people rebelled against him. Look how many people don't thank him. Look how many people don't care. I mean, it is biblical. And you know, there's a specific King Saul out there that is just on a tear to destroy your pastor and destroy your church. And look, he's going down the way of Cain, folks. You don't go down the way of Cain with these people. You know, he's got his little spirit of envy podcast. And let me tell you something, these people are just envious of Pastor Anderson, envious of him so much. And they'll say like, what am I envious of? I don't want to live in Phoenix. I don't want to have his family. I don't want to have his food preferences. I don't want to wear his shirts. Yet nobody was accusing you of that. You're envious of his attention. Just like King Saul. King Saul wasn't envious of David's height. King Saul's taller. King Saul wasn't envious of David's wives or envious of David's family. He wasn't envious of David's clothes. He wasn't envious of David's wallet. You know, he's envious of one thing, his attention. And let me tell you something. People today, they're envious of one thing, and it's the attention that Pastor Anderson draws. It's the attention that he's earned for having read the Bible so much, memorized so much scripture, preached unapologetically the Word of God, stood strong, been steadfast, been a consistent soul winner, and you know what, been doing it for decades. That's why he gets attention. And he's basically spearheaded a pretty big revival in this country. Yay in the whole world, folks. So many soul winners, so many people. It's so funny how these people always criticize the quote, new IV. Their only friends are ex-new IV people. I'm like, if you hadn't been part of the new IV, you wouldn't even have any friends. If it wasn't for the new IV, you would have zero friends still. And isn't it so funny? The new IV is so bad, but then when people leave and go to other churches, you know who they hang out with? Other next new IV people. And then they'll say like, you guys are so uncharitable and so unkind and so bad, but then you only hang out with new IV people. It's like, where's the connection in your brain that's loose? Let me help connect it for you, okay? And look, this King Saul out there, this guy is just insane, man. He is insane. Only a weirdo and a psycho would want to put out videos with their wife on the thumbnail looking like a serial killer. My wife would be so mad at me if there's a video out there where I have her face as a literal rabid serial killer. And I'm thinking it's good and I'm sharing it. You know, this is a guy that takes his children, his little tiny children, and makes videos attacking other pastors. That's what you call good parenting, okay? Just in case you didn't know, take your little kids and make troll videos with them. That's how you raise really good children or just other trolls. This guy, the same guy, he publicly admits he's a troll. I don't even know how you could be more embarrassing and cringe as a pastor to get up and just admit I am a troll and be dead serious. Not trolling somehow. I don't know how you as a grown man would play a board game with other pastors' faces on it. Like, make a board game of other pastors that you hate and you obsess about and watch and then play that board game. I mean, he makes psycho ex-girlfriends seem normal. Or, you know, this guy's literally a laughing stock because, look, King Saul starts believing all kinds of weird lies and goes down a bad path. Anybody that does this starts believing weird things and going down a bad path. One of them is thinking that the Roman centurion in the Bible, when the Lord Jesus Christ was crucified, this King Saul thinks that the Roman centurion literally saw the veil rent in the temple when Jesus Christ was crucified. He has eagle eyes that can see, like, super far away through buildings' walls into the Holy of Holies and can see the veil of the temple rent. And then he calls people stupid for not believing that. He thinks you're stupid if you don't think a Roman centurion can see hundreds, if not thousands of feet away through buildings' walls, see the Holy of Holy temples rent. And I have to ask this question, like, this person's main goal in life is just to destroy Pastor Anderson. Destroy your pastor. I don't want to give him, I don't want to say his name, I'm sorry, I know you know what I'm saying. I don't want to say his name because he would get so excited if I just said it. Like, just saying it is like a cocaine high for him. It's like, whenever you get that high from drugs, it's like just hearing his name out loud. In fact, you'll probably just say it out loud a couple of times for me when he's watching this, just to give himself that little ah, because he just likes it so much. But his goal is to destroy your pastor, and I'm thinking, like, what would that accomplish? Like, let's say you were finally successful, Cain. You killed Abel. Now what? I mean, what is that really going to do for the world? I mean, if Pastor Anderson goes away, that's just going to hurt this church. Less soul winning, less good sermons in the world, and they would have nothing to do on Wednesdays and Sundays anymore. I mean, this guy's almost like keeping y'all alive on your little drug high. And, you know, this is what you should really be appreciative of, is that when you give money to Faith Ward Baptist Church, you know what that money is used for? Getting people saved. Going on cruise missions trips and, you know, taking people out to the small town soul winning, or taking people to Indian reservations. Or, I mean, just getting thousands and thousands of people saved in some of the best ways possible. One on one soul winning, where you're confirming it, you're showing it clearly, you're praying with them. I mean, you're basically just spoon feeding the gospel to thousands and thousands and thousands of people every year. And when you give more money, it just increases that. What happens when you give money to King Saul? Well, now you get more Spirit of Envy podcast episodes. Now you can watch them sooner. You can watch the slander video a little sooner. Or you could give it to somebody that's going to make movies that never come out. I mean, think, you have this money, you could give it to a church where they're actually going to get a bunch of people saved. Or you could give it to someone that's going to never produce a film and then ask you to switch your donation to another film that you don't want. Because that's a great way to use money, right? You can move your donation just to make a hit piece against somebody that you actually like. That's weird. And then you can have this tagline, for the first time ever, Pastor Anderson's kids speak out against him. Where have you been six months for the last six months? Like, how would you make a movie that says this is the first time this is happening when no one believes that? No one ever believes that. Hey, you know what we should do? We should just raise money to kill David. Why? Isn't he our best warrior? Isn't he the one that's driving around the country and dragging people into your church to hear your sorry sermons? Isn't he the one that's actually motivating your members to go out soul winning? Isn't he the one that's taking your members on missions trips because you won't go on a missions trip? And you're not sponsoring missions trips? Isn't he the one that's basically encouraging your church members to go to your church three times a week even when the preaching's lame? Isn't he the one that's encouraging your church members to tithe you and do good unto you? Let's kill that guy. Let's harm that guy. Let's maim that guy. Oh, so you can watch another Spirit of Envy podcast where they bring on Tyler Baker to explain to you the Trinity. Right? Let's give money to this guy that's basically going to bring on Tyler Baker to explain to us the Trinity. And the same King Saul is basically just hearing the Catholic Trinity just being taught to him and just saying, I agree with that. Yeah, I'm learning so much. That's believing a lot of lies. How can a fundamental Baptist pastor need a modalist switched into Catholic theologian teach him the Trinity? I thought this was supposed to be the faithful word that you were taught. Holding fast the faithful word which he had been taught. Why in the world would a Baptist pastor of a decade or two decades need to learn the Trinity from an online troll and a modalist? It's because you're blinded with hatred and pride. In fact, I heard this King Saul, he said in this little podcast attacking the New IFB, he said, well, I think that three bodies is ridiculous when it comes to the Trinity. Believing three bodies is ridiculous. And he says, next breath. Well, I do believe that Jesus is sitting next to the Father, though. And I do believe that, you know, Moses saw his back parts. How do you explain that? And this King Saul is asking some basically Catholic troll. And this little Catholic troll is just like, ah! Well, you know, it's anthropomorphic. Everything in the Bible about God's anthropomorphic. And it talks about having wings and feathers. Now, you know what's so stupid about this idiot? Is anybody that knows anything about words knows that anthropomorphic has nothing to do with wings and feathers. You know what anthropology is? The study of humans. Now, if you have feathers and wings, raise your hand. That's a bird, okay? So you know what? It's so funny, these people are just so smart. And they're just so brilliant. And I just studied all these terms, it's anthropomorphic. Look, if you were actually smart, you'd realize it's zoomorphic. Oh, it's the wrong word. But again, look, I believe that you do have the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. You have three persons. Now, I want to take a second to explain this. Go if you would to Genesis chapter number one, go to Genesis chapter one. We don't want to be these hateful, envious people that start believing all kinds of heresy. And what was the heresy that tried to creep in this church? Modalism. And don't let anybody gaslight you into saying it wasn't modalism, it was literal modalism. The person thrown out of this church, Tyler Baker, said that Jesus had never been seen by anyone. He said that Jesus is sitting next to Jesus. He said that whenever you baptize, you should baptize in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, and that name is Jesus. And one of his little buddies, one of his little underlings that was his best friend, I messaged him multiple times, and he said that the Father became the Son. The Father became the Son. That is not the Trinity, folks. That is modalism. That is oneness. Now, I think since then, Baker has now become slightly Catholic or something, and believes in this weird version of the Catholic Trinity. But I just want to prove what the Bible has to say on this subject, because at the end of the day, you can sit here and laugh and say, I think that the new IP is ridiculous on this topic. But it's so funny that you can't even prove what you believe. The same guy that's just hating on Pastor Anderson, hating on the new IP, hates us, won't explain what he actually believes, just mocks our viewpoint, or mocks any viewpoint, really. Look, the word body is a little loaded, and I'm taking a rant here for a second, okay? So give me a little bit of leeway. But when we talk about the word body, obviously you could think of it as a physical property, right? We all have physical bodies. And God is a spirit, so He transcends our human body. I would not say that God the Father has a human body. Nobody believes that. Nobody thinks that. But I do believe that He has some type of shape, or loosely I'm using the word body just because of lack of English words to use. But He has some kind of either spirit body or some kind of a shape, and I believe the Holy Spirit is the same. Now let's just walk through the Bible for a second and see what the Bible says about God, not a theologian. Because you know what? I'm not envious of Pastor Anderson. I don't hate Pastor Anderson. I don't believe lies about him, and I don't want to attack him. So you know what? I can actually understand the Bible, because I'm not blinded by this hatred. Now what does the Bible say in Genesis chapter 1 verse 2? And the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Now how in the world, riddle me this, how does the Spirit of God move if it doesn't have any body whatsoever? What's moving? Have you ever seen nothing move? We usually see things move, right? Now albeit I do not believe that the Holy Ghost had a physical human body like we do, but He obviously has something because He's moving! And you know, this is before anything else that's moving exists. This is before any of the animals or any of the man has been created. This is the Holy Ghost moving on His own, moving on the face of the waters. Now I'm going to speed up. Look at verse 26. And God said, let us make man in our image. They all have an image. Look at verse 27. So God created man in His own image. God has an image! So the Bible says, look at chapter 3 verse 8. And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden. Somehow God's walking. Have you ever seen nothing walk? How about verse 22? And the Lord God said, behold, the man has become as one of us. That sounds like there's more than one. Our image. One of us. Sounds like they all have the same image, but there's one of us is, hey, we're singling out one of the three, right? Look at verse 1 of chapter 5. This is the book of the generation of Adam and the day that God created man. And the likeness of God made him. God made Adam to look like him. You know, I look like something. You look like something. We don't look like nothing. If God is literally nothing, well then how can He make us to look like, we wouldn't look like anything then. You know why we look the way we look? Because God has a head and eyes and hands and arms and legs because He walks and He talks. He walks with me and He talks with me. Hey, isn't that a hymn that we sing? How do these people even sing that? Oh yeah, because you're not saved, I guess He doesn't walk or talk with you. That's what it is. Go to verse 1 and verse 1. I'm not done. I'm going to continue this little rant here for a second. Because I don't believe lies. Isn't it so funny that King Saul can make fun of me for saying that I think that the Father, Son and Holy Ghost have three bodies. And then he just immediately debunks himself. But I do think Jesus is sitting against the Father. I just don't know how to explain that. How do you explain that? It's anthropomorphic. Look, anthropomorphic is just a stupid way to just make the Bible dumb. What is anthropomorphic? It'd be like if you said, hey, I saw my car running or crying or something, giving it human characteristics that it doesn't have. They're claiming that every time the Bible talks about God, walking, talking, looking, anything, that is not real. That we're just assuming He can actually talk and walk and look because humans can't. But God doesn't actually do any of that. That's an insane way to read the Bible. It's insane. You have to be blinded with hatred and pride. Look at 1 Peter chapter 1 verse 12. unto whom it was revealed that not unto themselves but unto us they did minister the things which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven which things the angels desired to look into. Notice that the Holy Ghost was somewhere and then He went somewhere. Because He has a spatial location. He was in heaven and then He was sent down from heaven. Go to Luke chapter 3. Go to Luke chapter 3. We saw that the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters in Genesis chapter 1. We see Him coming down from heaven as being referenced here in 1 Peter chapter 1. Luke chapter number 3 actually records the Holy Ghost coming down from heaven. And let's notice one of the words it uses. Luke chapter 3. Look at verse 22. And the Holy Ghost ascended in a what? Bodily shape. You think that the Holy Ghost has a body. What did the Bible say? The Bible said that the Holy Ghost came in a bodily shape. I didn't make that up. I didn't dream that up. The Bible said that the Holy Ghost came in a bodily shape. Hey, doesn't that fit with Him moving upon the face of the waters in Genesis chapter 1? Doesn't that fit with what the Bible says in 1 Peter that He's coming down from heaven to the earth? So we see that He can change locations based on where He's at. Now of course this bodily shape somehow resembles that of a dove or He's descending in the way like a dove. But He's in a bodily shape period. He's manifesting Himself where He can be seen. That was the whole point is John the Baptist literally seeing the Holy Ghost. Not only that, in this verse it says this, And a voice came from heaven. Where is this voice coming from? Nothing again? Or do you think it's coming from God's mouth? You know who talks? People that can talk. God can talk. It's not just an abstract nothing where voices are coming out of it. It's a person with a mouth that's actually speaking. Everything came into existence from God speaking. Did you not realize that? And God said, let there be light. God spake the whole world into existence. Go to Matthew chapter number three. Go to Matthew chapter number three. Let us not get goofed up on this doctrine. I mean you actually have three right there. Jesus in the water, the Holy Ghost descending and then you have the Father up in heaven can hear His voice. There's all three. Now admittedly, yeah, the Son of God especially at that point in time has a limited mortal flesh that He's wearing. He's obviously limited in that particular capacity. But, and I guarantee the Holy Ghost is not in the same form as the Lord Jesus Christ in that moment. But, yeah, I'm loosely using the word body to reference the fact that there's all three of them there, isn't there? We see the Son, the Holy Ghost and we see the Father. Look at Matthew chapter number three, verse number sixteen. We'll see the same thing. And Jesus when He was baptized went up straight way out of the water and lo the heavens were open unto Him. And He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting upon Him. And lo a voice from heaven saying, this is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased. Go to Mark chapter number sixteen now, go to Mark chapter number sixteen. Let's just see what the Bible says about Jesus being on the right hand of God. Consistently. Now you know who has right hands? People with right hands. But you say, this is silly Pastor Shelley. No, no, when you're envious and hateful you believe the dumbest things ever. You can't even believe that somebody has a right hand when the Bible says they have a right hand. Look what it says in Mark sixteen verse nineteen. So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, He was received up in heaven and sat on the right hand of God. Yes, Jesus is sitting at the right hand of God. Go to Acts chapter two. Now I'm going to go real fast so you got to go quick with me, alright, for sake of time. Acts chapter number two, look at verse number thirty-three. We're going to do a speed run of these. The Bible says, therefore being by the right hand of God exalted. Look at chapter seven verse fifty-five. Acts seven verse fifty-five. The Bible says, but he being full of the Holy Ghost looked up steadfastly in heaven and saw the glory of God and Jesus standing on the right hand of God. And said, behold, I see the heavens open and the Son of Man standing on the right hand of God. Romans chapter number eight. Romans chapter number eight, look at verse number thirty-four. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died gay rather than has risen again who is even at the right hand of God who also maketh intercession for us. I believe that Jesus is literally sitting right next to the Father and literally talking to the Father and literally making intercession for us up in heaven. And that when I pray to God in Jesus name, it actually means something. And you notice by his blood that I have mercy and forgiveness and I'm not punished according to my sins the way I deserve. Ephesians chapter one, look at verse number twenty. Ephesians chapter number one, look at verse number twenty. The Bible says, which he wrought in Christ when he raised him from the dead and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places. Now how in the world, how much more explicit could the Bible be than when it's talking about God the Father and saying his own right hand? Ah, it's anthropomorphic. Of what? It's a symbol. It's a metaphor. Of what? How about his hand? Could it just be that? Could it just be simple? That it's just his hand? Right? Ephesians chapter number three. Look, it's weird when a fundamental Baptist pastor is going to then start believing all kinds of Catholic doctrine. Or a pastor turns into a modalist. Or a pastor turns into a Calvinist. Or a pastor turns into all kinds of weird heresies that he's never been taught. That's weird because you know what, you usually learn things from somebody that's teaching you. And then you have to ask this question, who's teaching you? Who are you listening to? Well I found this online troll that makes hater videos and he taught me the Trinity. What would you think if Pastor Anderson said like, you know after 20 years of pastoring I started finding this online troll and he taught me the Trinity? Wouldn't you be a little weirded out? Like what's wrong with you, bro? Like you're going down the way of pain. There's something weird going on with your brain. Colossians chapter three verse one. If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. How many times does the Bible have to tell you this? Like what does it even mean to go to Hebrews chapter one? Go to Hebrews chapter one. I want to belabor this point more but I don't know. I might come back. Look at Hebrews chapter one verse 13. The Bible says this, but to which of the angels said he at any time, sit on my right hand until I make thine enemies thy footstool. Here's another great verse in Hebrew since we're here. Look at verse three. Who being the brightness of his glory and the express image of his person. Here's a good question. Did Jesus look like something? Yeah. They saw Jesus. They really saw his hands. I mean that's a huge part of first John chapter one is the fact that they saw his hands. They handled him. They touched him. It's a big deal to Thomas that he saw his hands. They saw the print of the nails in his hands. I mean they literally touched him and handled him and looked at him and you know what? He looks exactly like what? The Father is his person. The Father is a person. And then if you keep reading, notice it says at the end of this, sat down on the right hand of the majesty. The Bible is real clear it's on the right hand. Right hand, right hand. I have so many more of these. Let's go to just Revelation chapter four. I want to just keep going with this topic. I think you realize he's on the right hand or you're an idiot at this point. Revelation chapter four. Look at verse number two. And immediately I was in the spirit and behold a throne was set in heaven and one sat on the throne. And there's the thing, God the Father is seen at least four times in the Bible. And every time he's seen, it's the exact same. All the different descriptions of him, they're always the same. You know why? Because that's what he looks like. If you see somebody and you're always describing the same person, it's because it's the same person. I don't believe that God the Father is this shape-shifting person that's going to show up as a black woman named Jemima and make you pancakes. I don't think that we're going to go sit on a bench and a lizard is going to come up and talk to me and it's really God. Okay? I don't believe in that. That is not Christianity. I believe that God the Father really looks the same and if we saw him it would be exactly how the Bible describes him. That he's seated on a throne and there's a rainbow above his head and there's all these different descriptions of him looking like Jasper and there's this like clear glass that he's sitting on and there's this fire underneath him with this live coal pit and there's these special angelic beings, these seraphims and whatever that are standing there. I mean it's always describing the exact same picture every single time. Why? Because it's exactly what it looks like when God is in view. And there's one sitting on that throne at this time. It's obviously God the Father here. Verse 3 it says, He that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone and there was a rainbow round about the throne in sight like an animal. And it goes on and on and on and on. Look at verse 9. And when those beasts give glory and honor and thanks to him that sat on the throne who liveth forever and ever. Verse 10. The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne. Look I really believe that God is sitting on a throne. I don't think this is some euphemism for something. Some hyperbole. Anthropomorphic. God doesn't really sit. I heard somebody say like oh God if your God sits then that means he needs rest. What? This is stupid logic. This is unsaved man's logic. Look at chapter 5 verse 1. And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written. I think that God really had a book in his right hand and he's sitting on the throne. How can you not believe this stuff? Go to Ezekiel chapter 1. Go to Ezekiel chapter 1. Ezekiel sees God. Same deal. For sake of time I'll just fast forward a couple parts that I was going to go to but you see when God shows himself unto Moses? You say a similar thing. In the context of he's got the two tables of stone. He has to be clouded or in fire. He has to be kind of just disguised. But the Bible says about the Ten Commandments that God literally had written it with his finger. It says it was engraven and written with the finger of God. You know who has fingers? People with hands. People with right hands. People that sit on thrones with right hands with books in them. And you know the Bible says that there's books that were written by God. And I really believe that God really wrote books. He's a writer. He's the best writer. Of the best literature. He's the best speaker. Never man spake like this man spake. He's the best at everything. Even the walking. The walking and the talking and the write. Everything. He's the best at it. Ezekiel chapter 1 verse 25. And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne. As the appearance of a sapphire stone. And upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it. Hey, whenever they see God what does it look like a man? Huh. The Bible says that God created man in his image. And then when they see God and someone sitting on the throne what does it look like? Riddle me that. What does the Bible say? A man. Doesn't it say it looks like a man? I'm just telling you what the Bible says. Go left. Go to Isaiah chapter number 6. I'm going to be preaching a whole sermon on the appearances of God in the Bible but you're getting a little sneak preview here. Isaiah chapter 6 verse 1. In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne high and lifted up and his train filled the temple. Above it stood the seraphims. Each one had six wings. Now again it's going to describe these creatures. These creatures are described in Revelation. Every single mention of God. The Father is sitting on a throne. You have these special creatures surrounding it. You have the fire pit. You have that rainbow. I mean it's just consistent every single time. Go to John chapter 1. Go to John chapter number 1. And you say I don't think that's really what God looks like. What's the point? You know even if you want to argue like well I think God transcends his own creation. Okay. You can believe that but I live in his creation and when his creation sees him this is what he looks like. I mean can you really fault me if the Bible is saying that the Holy Ghost ascended in a bodily shape and I say man it looks like the Holy Ghost has a body. Oh that's blasphemy. That's what the Bible is saying. That's how the Bible is describing it. Why think that the Holy Ghost transcends that? Okay you can believe that all day long while you smoke marijuana but guess what? The Bible describes God as being someone we can actually see. And we have the Father sitting next to the Son and the Son sitting next to the Father. And we have the Son in the water and we have the Holy Ghost ascending and we have one sitting on the throne. And you know what? It helps you get away from the stupid modalist doctrine where you're baptizing people saying that the Father's name is Jesus. It never says that. The Father gave the name Jesus unto his Son. This is what the Bible says. He was given that name by the angel delivered unto Mary and Joseph but you know what? It's obviously given from God. Look at John chapter 1 verse 18. No man has seen God at any time. It would be a pretty pointless verse if you couldn't see him. No man has seen God at any time because there's nothing to look at folks. Wouldn't that be weird? It actually kind of has value if someone could see him, right? No man has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son which is in the bosom of the Father. He hath declared him. Now bosom is basically like your chest. You know who has chests? People with chests. People with bosoms. Look at chapter 3 verse 13. And no man has ascended up to heaven but he that came down from heaven. Jesus was in heaven before he came down. What was in heaven? Jesus. And he came down. Look at chapter 5. I'll give you one more and we'll move on. Chapter 5 look at verse 37. There's so much more to talk about in this subject. But boy I just want to show you the Bible talking about God here. This is what Jesus said to the Jews. And the Father himself which hath sent me hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time nor seen his shape. What a meaningless statement if he has no shape. Oh you haven't seen his shape because he doesn't have one. Ha! It was a double trick. No, no, no. The only begotten Son has seen his shape. He's literally been in his bosom. He knows him. He's seen him and he's declaring him unto us. But the Jews have never seen him because their faces would melt like Indiana Jones if they saw God. Alright? Like a lot of these haters would. You know just flip back maybe a page. Look at John chapter 3 verse 3 and I'm going to make a point finally. You're like man what was the point of this? Well let's recap for a second. We don't want to go down the way of Cain. What does the way of Cain do? We get envious of someone that's righteous, doing good. It causes us to hate them. Then it causes us to believe lies. All kinds of weird lies like right hands aren't really right hands and bosoms aren't bosoms and walking isn't walking and bodily shapes aren't bodily shapes and shapes aren't shapes and nothing's right. And then we start attacking people. Then we start trying to attack Christians and attack God's people and going down a dark path. We want to make sure that we just start here and say like I'm just not going to envy anybody. Right? How do you not go down the way of Cain? Don't envy people. You know how you don't envy people? Stay humble. You stay humble. You know the greatest man born among women was humble. The greatest guy to ever live. I mean if there's anybody to brag, it's the greatest guy. John the Baptist. Yes, Baptists are the greatest. There I said it. The Bible says the greatest person that ever lived was a Baptist. I'm just glad I'm on his team. You know what I mean? John the Baptist. I even got his name kind of. Here we go. John the Baptist, the greatest man born among women was humble. What does the Bible say in verse 30? He must increase but I must decrease. You know when John the Baptist's ministry was threatened, when John the Baptist's followers were threatened, when people started following Jesus more than him and he was bringing more people to the table than John, you know what John said? Great. He must increase. You know it's about Christianity. It's about Christ. It's not about personalities. You know the way of Cain is about me, myself and I. And these selfish pastors that just love themselves, they want to tear other people down because they're in love with themselves. They're in love with themselves and they want attention. The greatest people got tons of attention but it's not because they wanted attention. They weren't even seeking the attention. They were seeking Christ and the attention came. The way up is down. Humble yourself and God will lift you up in due time. But boy would you lift yourself up, boy you're headed for destruction. You're headed for the way of Cain which is straight down. Have John the Baptist's attitude. Go if you went to Philippians chapter number 2. You know the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 13, charity vaunteth not itself. Charity vaunteth not itself. Charity, I describe it this way, it's true love. Charity is true love. It's sincere love. True and sincere love is not bragging about itself, lifting itself up. It's not going to vaunt itself. It's not about self praise. You know charity is the ultimate goal of Christianity. You know this is a church full of all stars. Let me just be honest. There's a lot of people in this church that are some great soul winners, some great preachers, some talented musicians, people that have been dedicated to Christianity. I mean you have a lot of great people in here. But you know what? Don't try to get in this competition of saying I want to be better than everybody. You know what you should do? You should be excited when one of the great people in this church does something great. Hey when someone comes back from a missions trip and they did something awesome, you should be there to high five them and tell them good job and you're just glad they're on your team. Not get envious of them. Hey if Pastor Anderson is better friends with somebody in this room than you, you know what? You should just be glad that they're friends with him. Because he doesn't have many good friends. You know if there was somebody in this room that's actually good friends with Pastor Anderson and they're sincere, you should be happy that he has a sincere friend. Because boy sincere friends are just like hard to find. I just feel like everybody is a traitor at this point. I'm just saying this is how it feels sometimes. It's not the right attitude. It's wrong because there are some good people. There are some sincere people out there. But let me tell you something. Boy, you know if someone is closer friends with somebody in this room, don't get envious of that relationship. Be happy for them that they have a great friend. Don't be envious of someone's wife. If someone has a more meek and submissive wife than you, just be glad that they have it. And just say they couldn't handle my wife. Yeah, I'm tough. I can take care of it. You know what I mean? If you think, oh this guy is a better husband than mine. I wish I had a better husband that made more money or whatever. Or is taller or whatever. Sorry, I'm short. Don't think that way. Just be glad they have a great husband. Hey, if they have an awesome kid, just be like I'm glad they have an awesome kid. If they have a better house than you, just be glad they have a better house than you. If they have a nicer car, just hope they'll let you take it for a spin. Yeah, I never want to own one, but I love driving Teslas. Because you can go really fast. I know, alright. It's possible. I've heard, okay. I'm just saying like let's not get envious of each other. Let's just get rid of all that. Let's not be envious of other churches. Hey, this church has more people than us. Okay, great. Hey, this church has a better music program. Great. I mean if I heard of a church, hey this church got more people saved than you this year. I'd be like awesome. If everybody in my church came up to me and said, hey I heard this pastor preach a sermon. It's my favorite sermon I've ever heard. It's way better than yours. I'd be like, I want to listen. That sounds awesome. I can't wait to listen to this sermon. You know what I mean? I'm excited to hear this sermon. Because I love Bible preaching. I love the Word of God. You know, instead of being mad at people being better than you, why don't you just say, I'm glad for you and I'm going to work harder. You know, I hear Faith Board Baptist Church, hey they're doing cruise mission trips. I said, hey let's try to do it too. Hey, Pastor Anderson's putting music to Psalms. I'm going to try and put music to Psalms. Hey, Pastor Anderson preaches great sermons. I'm going to try and preach great sermons. Hey, Pastor Anderson makes cool movies. I'll try to make a cool movie. Instead of just tearing people down and attacking everybody and getting envious and hateful, you know what? We should just lift one another up and we should love one another and we should be excited to be on each other's team. Because you know when you don't, you're going to start believing really stupid things. Really, really stupid things. You might even make a whole documentary about it called A City Lost. Stupid. Let me just ruin it for you. It's boring, okay? The worst punishment would be to watch A City Lost on one-time speed. Praise God for two-time speed. And let me say this, if City Lost was an awesome film, I would say it's an awesome film. I have no problem saying that. You know what? It's a stupid film. And you know what? I don't want to waste money and time and resources on stupidity and lies. But you know, when you just, you have hatred in your heart, you'll believe any lie. In fact, it's just like, who's got a lie for a weekly worldly news? Come on, give me a lie. The Onion, give me a lie. Democrats, give me a lie. I believe all women. Everything you say is good and right. There's any accusation and I just immediately believe it. Don't be this person that believes every accusation. You know, don't just believe everything that you hear. You know, especially against people that are good, that you've known, that are consistent, that are sincere. I recently ordained someone, Brother Dylan Oz of Anchor Baptist Church. I think he's come and preached for you guys a couple of times. Great preacher, great guy. He worked with me very closely for years. And he said recently to me, he was just kind of, I didn't ask, he was unprovoked. He's just like, you know, I've been with you and I've like seen this, but I just didn't believe it until it happened to me. How people just lie about you for no reason whatsoever when you become a pastor. It's just like sometimes you just can't really understand how it's just like you just only do good or you try to help people. And people just come out of nowhere and just make up the craziest stories you've ever heard. In fact, there was this person that a couple of years ago in my church, they kind of forced their way to come help me out. And I was like, are they going to come to my house for something? Well, they ended up covertly taking dozens of pictures of my house and then forging like a 40-page document of all kinds of information about like the tax of my house, like the tax statements and old pictures and crafted this weird narrative to try and make me look like an insane psychopath and just emails it out to all kinds of people. And I'm thinking like, who does that? Who does this kind of weird junk? Who does this stuff? And, you know, that happens when you want to serve God. Crazy, weird, psycho things. And so if you get a weird email about me, please don't just immediately believe it. Okay? It happens. And you know what, if you get a weird email about somebody else in this church, don't just immediately believe it. When someone comes whisper something in your ear, don't just immediately believe that. You know, what does the Bible say in Philippians chapter 2 verse 3? Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. What if we just had this attitude of, hey, I'm just trying to like encourage other people and I actually sincerely in my heart believe other people are better than me? Well, you won't ever go down this road the way of Cain. If Cain said, you know what, Abel's better than me, because he is. He would have never killed him. He would have never gone down the road. He would have said, you know what, I need to be like Abel. Maybe he could have asked his brother for help. Maybe he could have fixed things. You know, we need to have an attitude where we actually are trying to look positively towards our brethren, trying to encourage our brethren, trying to help our brethren. And when brethren are better than us, let us celebrate their success. Let us celebrate their victory. Let us be excited that they're on our team. You know, Christianity, it's just the same. I mean, think about what the new IFB could have done recently if we were all still on the same team. I mean, think about what they could have accomplished. When all of Asia turns away from Paul, well, now where are all those churches? We see churches in the book of Revelation being threatened to lose their candlestick already. We see churches in the seven churches in Asia. That's what Revelation is written to. There are some bad churches already. It's like almost instantly. And look, that can happen. Churches just come and go because people get envious, they get hateful, and they just, they're not on the same team. Let us not be like that. Let us be people that are excited about others serving Christ. You know, when Pastor Anderson gets back and he gives you a report of getting all these people saved, why don't you give him a high five and say, good job. Why don't you be excited that you have a pastor that does the work of an evangelist? Why don't you be excited that you have a pastor that on the week, he's going out and getting people saved instead of making a podcast to attack other people? I mean, what's the point of that? Making movies to attack other people. I mean, it's just, it's just, it's just silliness folks. It makes literally no sense unless you understand the way of Cain. That's why I wanted to teach you this. Stay away from the people that are going down the way of Cain. You don't get envy. Who can stand before envy? It's a dangerous, dangerous road. If you're envious of someone, you need to fix that right now. If there's somebody that you don't like because they're better than you, you need to change your attitude right now. And you need to pray that God will help you to like that person. We need to like our brothers in Christ. Let's close in prayer. Cigar has turned on my mic. Thank you Heavenly Father so much for this church. Thank you so much for Faith Lord Baptist Church. Thank you so much for Pastor Steven Anderson. Please just keep him safe as he's out reaching people with the gospel. Please bless all the other soul winners and those that are out on missions trips or they're not able to make service this evening. I pray that you be with them, help them if they're sick. I pray that you would help bless all the upcoming missions trips, the upcoming cruise missions trips. And I pray that you would just help to use this church greatly for your honor and glory. And I pray that you would help us to not have an envious attitude or a hateful attitude towards our brethren. Rather, we would just be excited when people are successful and they're used by God. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Amen. Lastly, turn in your hymnals to song number 183. Song number 183, Oh How I Love Jesus. Sing it out on the verse. There is a name I love to hear, I love to see His word. It sounds like music in my ear, the sweetest name on earth. Oh, how I love Jesus. Oh, how I love Jesus. Oh, how I love Jesus. Because He first loved me. It tells me of a Savior's love who died to set me free. It tells me of His precious blood, now sinners perfectly. Oh, how I love Jesus. Oh, how I love Jesus. Oh, how I love Jesus. Because He first loved me. It tells me of my Father and His door for every day. And though I tread a dark, stone path, He'll sunshine all the way. Oh, how I love Jesus. Oh, how I love Jesus. Oh, how I love Jesus. Because He first loved me. It tells of one whose loving heart can feel my needless love. Any sorrow bears the part that none can bear below. Oh, how I love Jesus. Oh, how I love Jesus. Oh, how I love Jesus. Because He first loved me. Copyright © 2020, New Thinking Allowed Foundation
