time we'll pass our offering plate and brother Sampson is gonna read for us acts chapter number five acts chapter number five during verse number one right at chapter number five all right one turning places we'll read this chapter together as always starting here in Acts chapter five verse number one where the Bible reads but a certain man named Ananias with Sapphira his wife sold a possession and kept back part of the price his wife also being privy to it and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles feet but Peter said Ananias why have Satan filled on the heart to lie to the Holy Ghost and to keep back part of the price of the land while they remained was it not thine own and after it was so was it not not own power why is thou conceived this thing in thine heart thy is not lied unto men but unto God and Ananias hearing these words fell down and gave up the ghost and great fear came on all of them that heard these things and the young men arose wound him up and carried him out and buried him and it was about the space of three hours when his wife not knowing what was done came in and Peter answered unto her tell me whether you sow the land for so much and she said yea for so much then Peter said unto her how is it ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord behold the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door and shall carry thee out then fell she down straight way at his feet and yielded up the ghost and the young men came in and found her dead and carrying her forth buried her by her husband and great fear came upon all the church and upon as many as heard these things and by the hands of the Apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people and they were all with one accord and Solomon's porch and of the rest does no man join himself to them but the people magnify them and believers were the more added to the Lord multitudes both of men and women in so much that they brought forth the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and couches that at the least the shadow of Peter passing might overshadow some of them there came also a multitude out of the city's roundabout and to Jerusalem bringing sick folks and them which were vexed with unclean spirits and they were healed every one then the high priest rose up and all day they were with him which is the sect of the Sadducees and were filled with indignation and lay their hands on the Apostles and put them in the common prison but the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors and brought them forth and said go stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life and when they heard that they entered into the temple early in the morning and taught but the high priest came and they that were with him and call the council together and all the Senate of the children of Israel and sent to the prison to have them brought but when the officers came and found them not in the prison they returned and told saying the prison truly we found shut with all sake and the keeper standing without before the doors but when we had opened we found no man within now when the high priest and the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these things they doubted of themselves where into this would grow then came one and told them saying behold the man whom you put in the prison are standing in the temple and teaching the people then went the captain with the officers and brought them without violence for the fear the people least they should have been stoned and when they had brought them they set them before the council and the high priest asked him saying did not we straightly command you that you should not teach in this name and behold yet filled Jerusalem with your doctrine and intend to bring this man's blood upon us then Peter and the other apostles answered and said we ought to obey God rather than men and God the God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom he slew and hang on a tree him have God exalted with his right hand to be a prince and a savior for to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins and we are his witnesses of these things and so is also the Holy Ghost whom God has given to them that obey him when they heard that they were cut to the heart and took counsel to slay them then stood there up one in the council a Pharisee named Gamaliel a doctor of the law had in reputation among all the people and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space and he said unto them ye men of Israel take heed to yourselves what you intend to do is touching these men for before these days rose up Thetis boasting himself to be somebody to whom a number of men about 400 joined themselves who was slain and all as many as obeyed him were scattered and brought to not after this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing and drew away much people after him he also perished and all even as many as obeyed him were dispersed and now I say unto you refrain from these men and let them alone for this council or this work be of men it will come to not but if it be of God you cannot overthrow it these happily ye be found even to fight against God and to him they agreed and when they had called the apostles and beaten them they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus and let them go and they departed from the presence of the council rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name and daily in the temple and in every house they cease not to teach and preach Jesus Christ by head for a quick word of prayer everybody again we just give you thanks for all your spiritual gifts and your blessings we do thanks for this service this evening pray that you fill pastor Shelley with your Holy Spirit and us as well that we may listen and learn give you thanks for Acts chapter number five and pray that we receive good meat from this chapter tonight father we pray this day in Jesus Christ's name amen amen so we're in Acts chapter number five and we've been going through the book of Acts and we're kind of picking up in chapter number five where we left off in chapter four as far as the story is concerned because Peter and John had been healing a man and they had been in the temple preaching and so we were kind of picking up where we we kind of left off with some of that that same storyline that was there look at verse number one again where the Bible reads but a certain man named Ananias was the fire his wife sold a possession and kept back part of the price his wife also being privy to it and brought a certain part and laid it at the Apostles feet Peter said Ananias why is Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost and to keep back part of the price of the land while as it remained was it not and was it not thine own and after it was sold was it not in thine own power why hast thou conceived this thing in thine art thou has not lied in the men but in the God so in chapter number four Peter and John were being reprimanded for having essentially healed a man and you know they're they're still you know going out and preaching and the church is being formed and this church is kind of weird because you know our church is meeting here in this building right and we kind of gather together and we kind of have our own thing going but this early church they're kind of still meeting in the temple and then there's like this mixed crowd and so whenever they went to the temple for the prayer in chapter number three that's where they kind of stirring a lot of people up they perform this miracle they healed this guy and a lot of people heard the preaching they're getting saved and then the chapter number four they're still you know preaching and the basically the leaders they're getting mad at them for having preached in Jesus Christ's name and doing this miracle so they're like kind of having church in the midst of enemies which is kind of weird but notice that and we back up another verse here go to verse 37 or verse 36 I'm sorry verse 35 even and laid them down to the apostles feet and distribution was made every man according as he needs so like a lot of people were just selling possessions and giving money to the apostles and giving it to them and they're kind of giving it to the church in a sense and the apostles are here meeting in the temple in this kind of location and this is kind of where the church is kind of forming and kind of figuring things out but we find out about a couple here Ananias and Sapphira his wife they end up selling a possession and they're gonna bring the money that they had acquired from this possession and lay it at the apostles feet but instead of actually laying down all the money that they had acquired from this possession the Bible says that they kept back part of the price now what's interesting about this is you know you kind of have to read between the lines about what's happening in the story and really what helps us understand what's truly happening in the story is what Peter says in verse 4 he says while it remained was it not thine own so the first thing is he asks us a question he says you know when you guys just own this land before you sold it it was your own possession you know and here's the thing there is no commandment in the Bible that says sell all that you have and just go to church you know or give it to the church or something like that and so Ananias and Sapphira didn't have to sell this possession it was their own possession they could have just kept that possession and another thing that he noticed I think it says here in the Bible in verse 1 is it said sold a possession notice it doesn't say they sold every single one of their possessions it's not saying like these people just gave all their money and because they didn't give all their money the Lord they you know weren't right with God or something people like to twist the Bible in every single direction this is just people they have multiple possessions one of their possessions happens to be land and the Apostle Peter is telling them hey you know whenever you own that land you are free to do with it whatever you wanted they could have sold the land and then bought a boat with the proceeds they could have just given the land to a random person they could have just burnt the field down and just left it alone yeah they could do whatever they wanted with the land but they decided to sell it okay and then with the proceeds they wanted to give it to the church theoretically but notice what it says in the next phrase and after was sold was it not of my own power so it's saying like after you sold the land okay the proceeds are the money from the result of that sale it's still in their power they could still do whatever they wanted with that money okay then it says this why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart thou hast not lied unto men but unto God now here's the thing how did they lie well again you kind of have to read between the lines and we have to skip and go down and we can figure this out when we kind of put all these pieces together but look at verse number eight it says and Peter answered unto her so so if I was gonna later come in he says tell me whether you sold the land for so much now how does Peter know how much they theoretically sold the land for because you have to read between the lines what's happening in this story is this Ananias and Zephira are trying to make a big deal in front of everybody they're trying to be seen of men and they're trying to tell everybody hey we sold our land and we want to give it to the church and they're going around telling them telling Peter and telling everybody how much they sold the land for so we'll just put a number on it let's just say they sold the land for a hundred thousand dollars okay they had this piece of land they sold it for a hundred thousand dollars they're coming to the church the group that's assembling here and they're telling them hey we sold our land for a hundred thousand dollars and we want to give a hundred thousand dollars to the church and so they're just giving that and look Peter is saying look when the land was yours you could have just held on to it when you sold the land for however much money you sold it for you could have done whatever you did with it but instead what that what really happened is they sold the land for let's say two hundred thousand dollars and we don't know then we don't know the exact amount but they sold the land for two hundred thousand dollars but they're telling everybody they sold it for a hundred thousand why because they want to keep a hundred thousand dollars privately and make it sound like they're giving all this money to the church they want to actually get more credit for their giving than they're actually giving okay they want to just try and make it seem like they're more godly or seem like they're part of the club but he's the thing they're not doing it out of a cheerful heart they're wanting to do it to be seen of men and so when Peter says in verse number four now it's not lied unto men but unto God he's saying you know this thing that you did wasn't just lying to people you're now lying to God too because you're claiming to have given this money and again no one was forcing Ananias or Sapphira to give this money or give this possession and look they didn't even have to give all the price of the possession they could have sold the land for two hundred thousand dollars and given one dollar of it to the Lord but what was wrong is the fact they were going around lying about it the fact that they're lying and saying oh we sold it for this amount of money let's say a hundred thousand when they really sold it for more than that and they're keeping back part of the price now we don't know how much they sold it for we don't know how much they kept back but that's irrelevant what is relevant is the fact they're lying about it is the fact that they're going around trying to be deceitful and really they're trying to get the praise of men today and so they're gonna be rebuked sharply to the point of death now look what I said in verse number five and I Ananias hearing these words fell down and gave up the ghost and great fear came on all them that heard these things now this is crazy someone in the New Testament now think about that are we in the Old or New Testament here okay we're really far in the New Testament okay well because we're past Matthew Mark Luke and John and obviously the New Testament didn't start until after the death of Jesus Christ okay because he said with it was with his blood you know this is my blood which is the New Testament and so we're in the New Testament though and notice God is killing people for what for lying and what's crazy about this story is the fact that they gave a lot of money to God I mean we don't know exactly the amount but they're giving a big offering unto the Lord and then God killed them just think about the circumstances someone gives a lot of money to church and then died why because they lied about it so notice God doesn't really care about your offering like how much money you're giving God doesn't care about the amount God doesn't care about he cares about the the emotion or what's really going down in your heart and we can see other offerings in the Bible there's a woman who gives two mites a poor widow woman she gives two mites and Jesus Christ tells his disciples he says that she gave more than all the other people there and he says because they cast in of their abundance but she cast in all of her living is what the Bible says that means that she literally gave every single dollar she was in possession of which was nothing I mean this lady had like ten bucks to her name and she's like well I'm not gonna get much with ten bucks I might as well just give it all to church you know and here's the thing it's not about the amount it's about her heart and for her she's giving everything whereas people that have millions you know they're given oh I gave ten thousand dollars but it's like nothing to them you know it doesn't even mean anything to them it's nothing it's a tax write-off for them okay it actually probably benefits them to donate to church because they get the extra tax write-off they don't even care about God and then they brag about how much money they give and they let everybody know I give $10,000 or whatever and Jesus is looking at like your offering is meaningless to me it's pointless you know in fact I don't even like it because what you have to understand about God is this not every single offering is accepted with God God doesn't accept every single offering not every single offering is rip is is pleasing into God it has to be according to the Bible it has to be according to his will let me show you an example of this keep your finger go to Genesis chapter number four Genesis chapter just right off the bat in the beginning of the Bible we have somebody giving offerings unto God and one's just completely refused one's just completely rejected because it's not according to God's will look at Genesis chapter number four and look what it says in verse number three and in process of time it came to pass that Cain brought to the fruit of the ground and offering unto the Lord and Abel he also brought to the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof and the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering but in the Cain and to his offering he had not respect and Cain was very wrong and his countenance fell so notice two brothers give an offering of the Lord and one is accepted and one is not respected one is meaningless to God he doesn't like it he's not interested in Cain's offering now that makes Cain very angry why because he spent a lot of effort a lot of energy on this I mean this is the fruit of the ground he tilled he planted he did all this work in order to offer this thing unto the Lord but here's the thing God didn't want that offering and obviously when you study Genesis chapter number four and the rest of the Bible you realize that's a picture of salvation that salvation is a free gift it's not based on our works and Abel was offering a sacrifice of an animal which is a picture of the Jesus Christ an offering that would be through you know faith in Jesus Christ whereas Cain is like a works-based type offering where it's according to his works according to his labor according to his fruits and God doesn't respect it and when it comes to getting into heaven if you try to offer the Cain offering you're not getting in if you offer the Abel offering you say well I just had the sacrifice of Jesus Christ you're getting in God will respect you and your offering notice what it said in Genesis chapter 4 it says in the end and the Lord had respect notice this unto Abel and to his offering because whenever you are you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ God not only respected that offering he also respects you he also accepts you you're accepted on in God's sight because of that offering specifically but notice Cain's offering and Cain himself are rejected because not every single offering God accepts go back and go to Acts chapter 5 I can give you another example just you know as a story but Nadab and Abihu offer strange fire unto the Lord and they their offering is rejected God ends up killing them immediately and so don't think that just because you're offering something unto God God is going to be pleased with that don't even think that giving money to the church God would be pleased with that it really comes down to your heart you know are you doing things to be seen of men are you doing things because you want praise and glory of men are you doing things out of an ulterior motive or are you doing it with a cheerful heart you just love the Lord you know the Bible talks about even when you give alms to the poor that you're not supposed to let your left hand know what your right hand doeth and so you shouldn't be going around bragging about the money that you're giving or trying to get praise and glory for the things that you're doing now we have to understand about in Acts chapter 5 is this though this was not alms to the poor this is money to the church okay and in the beginning they're all just coming right in front of everyone and they're laying down their offering in front of the feet of everyone everyone knows everything about it okay and so there was nothing wrong with the fact that their offering was public there was nothing wrong with the fact that people knew how much money they were giving what was wrong is that they lied about it the lie is what was the problem in this story and because of it it cost Ananias his life now why would God do such a thing well God is setting a very serious example unto the church so that they will fear God so that they will also fear the Lord and not want to lie unto the Lord God is making an example out of them and you know praise God that you know he's not so strict with every single Christian because man if I was gonna come to church tonight and be killed for having lied at any point like I might not show up okay I don't know if you guys would show up but that's real scary okay and really it is should be terrifying we should have the terror of the Lord and God you know did put this example in the Bible to let us know that he's still the same God of the Old Testament you know where he killed people for fornication in the Old Testament well he killed people for lying in the New Testament you know they're like oh the God in the Old Testament he was really harsh you know and he he really hammered them and he would take all these punishment that's a severe punishment I mean what would be in my mind lying is kind of in our human perspective okay is probably one of the lesser sins right in our mind it's like you know most things we kind of think are worse than lying potentially but in God's eyes here he's saying like death just death for lying and so we should be careful to you know make sure that we're not sinning because God could just kill us even a lie even a lie God could decide to just take your life and so we should fear not only lying to men but especially to God we don't want to lie to God we don't want to be a fake we don't want to be a phony and we don't want to go around singing our own praises God ended up humbling him greatly whereas he was striving for pride and think about this what was the goal of selling the money or selling the possession and giving it to the church was that everybody think he's so great you know everybody would be like oh man look at Ananias this guy's so wonderful but then having died right away he gets the exact opposite doesn't he now everybody's like you don't want to be Ananias no one's gonna name their kid Ananias after this you know he's now a proverb and a byword you know now he's kind of got the exact opposite and so you have to be careful because those that you know lift themselves up those that have pride you know they're gonna be a based and those that lower themselves those who humble themselves God will lift them up and do time and so if you really truly care about being lifted up or getting honor and glory you need to just lower yourself you need to just put Christ as the forefront of everything you know have John the Baptist attitude and say he must increase but I must decrease you know and John the Baptist was regarded as the greatest man born among women and there's nothing wrong with even desiring to be pleasing to God or to striving to have glory it's just you need to go about the right way okay because even the disciples when they're talking with Jesus Christ they're you know arguing among amongst themselves who will be the greatest and Jesus Christ doesn't say well that's stupid you shouldn't even strive to be great no what he says if you want to be the greatest you need to be the servant he's that's greatest among you let him be your servant and so the reality is the way up is down and just like Jesus Christ humbled himself and lowered himself and had nowhere to lay his head and had no you know no money nothing physical possessions nothing great he was born in a manger he was born poor and humble and lowly he's gonna be the highest lifted up you know he's gonna be the ultimate as far as glory and honor and praise and so if we truly want glory and praise we have to humble ourselves and lower ourselves and esteem other better than ourselves in our lives now it says in verse number seven or verse six it says in the young men rose won him up and carried him out and buried him so he died they buried him verse seven and it was about the space of three hours after when his wife not knowing what was done came in now why does it take women so much longer to get ready I never understood this you know apparently there's no new thing under the Sun I mean three hours right and she had been there with them maybe she could have you know been a little you know wised up a little bit but she comes in three hours later the Bible tells us she didn't even know what had happened she just comes in late there's another reason not to be late okay because you don't want to miss all the action and it says in verse number seven that she not knowing what was done so it's talking about her husband verse eight and Peter answered unto her tell me whether he sold the land for so much and she said yay for so much so Peter says hey did you sell the land for a hundred thousand bucks or whatever the mount was right we don't know the exact amount but whatever they were claiming that they had sold it for he's like did you sell it for that much and she's like yeah yeah we sold it for that much then what does Peter say verse 9 then Peter said her how is it they have agreed together to tempt the spirit of the Lord behold the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door and shall carry thee out then then fell she's down straightway at his feet and yielded up the ghost and the young men came in and found her dead and carrying her forth buried her by her husband so she comes in three hours later doesn't realize her husband just died for lying and Peter test her to see if she's gonna lie and she lies too now this story is very interesting because it's just kind of like placed in the middle of Acts chapter 3 4 & 5 because we had like this story and we're gonna kind of pick up with that again but like it's just kind of placed in the middle and there's a lot of cool things we can pull out of this though first of all never lie you know and especially to God right but here's another thing and the Bible teaches this go through a Ephesians chapter 5 the Bible teaches that a wife is supposed to submit unto her husband and that she's supposed to obey him and everything but somebody would ask the question well what if my husband asked me to sin against God what if my husband would ask me to do something that would be you know against God's commandments well this is a clear story and a clear example of how you should not ever break God's commandments period now it says in Ephesians chapter number 5 it says in verse 22 wives submit yourselves unto your own husbands notice this as unto the Lord so a wife is supposed to submit to her husband in the same way that she would submit unto God or unto the Lord or unto the Lord Jesus Christ specifically so that means he's over you now here's the thing what if and again this is not realistic this would never happen but it would have God told you to break one of his commandments you wouldn't do that right so obviously you're only going to submit to the Lord within the parameters of the Bible but obviously that's always the case however the same example would apply to all authority in your life you should obey the authorities in your life period yet there is a circumstance in which you would not obey that authority if it's not in coordination with God's commandments if it's causing you to break one of God's commandments so if your husband's asking you to lie to God you shouldn't lie to God you know that you should still probably be as respectful as possible to your husband and say you know I'm willing to do whatever you say but I'm gonna ultimately submit to God I'm ultimately his servant and I'm not going to break God's commandments and if there is some kind of a controversy if there is some kind of contention look at Colossians flip to the right Galatians Ephesians Philippians Colossians chapter number three and let's see another example of the Bible you know talking about wives it says in Colossians chapter number three look at verse number 18 wives submit yourselves and your own husbands as it is fit in the Lord now fit would be appropriate or suitable or meet okay now it's suitable to obey your husband but here's the thing as long as it's in the parameters of God's commandments okay go to first Peter chapter number three go to another place in the Bible and I've heard in you know it's kind of shocking to me but I've heard independent fundamental Baptists and I've heard other Christians say that wives need to obey their husbands with no exception that like if their husband told them to commit some kind of a sin or to do anything wrong even if they think it's wrong they should still just obey their husband this is not what the Bible teaches and that's not interpreting scripture correctly that's not a correct balance you know and they would get verses like this look at verse number one I'm sorry of chapter three first Peter chapter three verse number one likewise he wise be in subjection to your own husbands that if any obey not the word they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wise so they're saying hey you need to be in subjection to your own husbands and you're supposed to obey him and everything there's another place in the Bible where says obey him and everything but here's the reality you're only supposed to obey your husband as long as it's in coordination with God's commandments now I believe in a practical world that we live in today the majority of the time and the majority of household situations husbands are not just trying to get their wives to break God's commandments they're not trying to get their wives go around and murder people and steal and lie and do all these egregious sins and everything like that but a woman should obey her husband to the best of her ability however not in rebellion to God's Word it says in this verse number one if any obey not the word so this is saying if your husband is not obeying God's commandments right isn't that kind of what an ice is doing isn't it nice not obeying God's commandments it says if any obey not the word they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wise so this is saying and again conversation in the Bible could be like what we think of communicating talking verbally but it can also just be your lifestyle so it's saying the lifestyle of the wife can end up winning over their husband because they're righteous because they are following God's commandments so if your husband's going off the wrong track if he's not obeying the word you can still obey God you can still be righteous and you can still do that which is right and notice by you doing right by you being a godly wife you can actually end up winning over your husband what it says in verse 2 while they behold your chase conversation coupled with fear what if an anise and sapphire when they were talking about their scheme about their plan and ananias says okay we're gonna go to the church and we're gonna we're gonna give the hundred thousand we're gonna say that we gave the hundred thousand he's like are you with me are you gonna tell them that what if she said you know what I don't feel right about lying that lying to God I don't want to do that maybe an anise would have said okay well then I won't either then maybe he would have decided not to by seeing that the wife was not gonna break God's commandments and that he wouldn't have a partner in crime anymore because the plan is not gonna really work if his wife's not really to go with it you know if it's not Bonnie and Clyde here you know maybe it's not gonna work out and so the woman actually deciding to follow God's commandments could potentially have a positive effect on her husband now if it's not in direct violation of God's commandments wives should submit themselves to their husbands you know if their husband says to do something they should do it exactly like their husband said but obviously you have this situation where there could be a controversy and authority and I believe that the reason why God is using this story because you know it's kind of out of place in my mind in the grand scheme of where we're going through acts because it's like Peter and John preaching and they're getting persecuted getting persecuted but it's gonna perfectly fit in because why because Peter and John run in the exact same scenario where they're supposed to preach God's Word but then their authority is gonna end up doing what telling them not to preach the Word of God not to preach in Jesus name and they're gonna say well we ought to be God rather than men and so the reality is everyone's in the same boat whether you're a husband whether you're a father whether you're man boy woman girl you're gonna have authority in your life you know there is it's impossible to escape authority even if you were the king of the entire earth you still have a king above you the king of kings Jesus Christ and you're still supposed to submit to his authority there's no person without authority and we're supposed to submit to the higher powers and the authorities in our life to the best of our ability and the only one that we're supposed to be loyal to is God's Word the only one we're supposed to be loyal to is to the commandments of God go back if you would to actually have number five Acts chapter number five and so the Lord takes the life of an Ananias and Sapphira to show the grievousness of their error and I like this example because it's a clear example of where every single person should obey God's commandments first it doesn't matter what other authority would come in your life it would technically God's commandments usurp every authority whether that be your mother whether it be your father whether it be your husband or you know any person of authority in your life a pastor you know even if a pastor is telling you to do something if it's in violation of God's Word you should not do that you know it doesn't matter who is in your life telling you that now obviously within the boundaries of God's commandments the authorities that are in your life your mother your father you should obey them and I also believe that you should obey your mother and father you know until both of you are dead okay because the Bible doesn't say hey honor thy father and mother until you're not living with them or honor your father and mother until you get married or honor your father and mother until you disagree with them or honor your father until you become a teenager you know no you're supposed to honor your father and mother period and in fact that's also brought up later in life when your parents are very elderly that you're supposed to provide for them and even take care of them so that commitment never goes away and so you should always be respectful to your parents and love your parents but I'm telling you what if your parent is telling you to do something contrary to God you have to respectfully disagree and say well I'm gonna obey God rather than men in every scenario of your life look at what it says in verse number 11 it says in great fear came upon all the church and upon as many as heard these things so notice that the church is afraid and you know this is a good fear we should fear God we should fear the Lord's commandments and sometimes God will make an example out of someone to put the fear back into God's people and you know I pray that it wouldn't be me or there wouldn't be you but you know what it could be God could you know if our church just starts getting to a point where we just don't really fear God anymore and we're just getting really lax with God's commandments God might just start making examples of the congregation to try and put us back into the fear of the Lord let me show you an example this go view into Revelation go to Revelation and look at chapter number 2 chapter number 2 Revelation and look at chapter number 2 and look at verse number 18 the Bible says and under the angel of the church in Thyatira write these things say the Son of God who hath the his eyes like unto a flame of fire and his feet are like fine brass I know thy works and charity and service and faith and thy patience and thy works and the last to be more than the first notwithstanding of a few things against thee because thou suffers that woman Jezebel which caused herself a prophetess to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication and to eat things sacrificed and idols I gave her space to repent of her fornication and she repented not so notice she's in severe violation of God's Word first of all shouldn't even be teaching because the Bible makes it clear that women are supposed to be silent in churches but secondly she's not only teaching she's teaching false doctrine she's teaching them to commit fornication and to eat things sacrificed unto idols this is some grievous sins here and the Bible says he gave her space to repent of her fornication but since she didn't look what it says in verse 22 be old I will cast her into a bed and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation except they repent of their deeds and I will kill her children with death and all the churches shall know that I am he which searches the reins and hearts and will give unto every one of you according to your works so does it sound like God said you know what just mercy and grace I you know it doesn't matter what you do no people that lied in the book of Acts and the church died and then we have a story here in Revelation chapter number two where a woman's getting up and is incorrectly teaching the Bible and God says well I gave you a little bit of fix that but since you didn't I'm not gonna only kill you I'm gonna kill your children too and then he says what's the purpose why would God do something why would God make an example out of this woman such a harsh example he says in verse number 23 he says and all the churches shall know that I am he so what's the point to strike fear into the churches again and so you should be afraid that God will come down on you hard you know what would be a modern-day example go back to action or five will be a modern-day example of this well how about Donny Romero how about Donny Romero committing some very grievous sins you know committing adultery and doing you know not being sober and lots of different ways and using church money to go to casinos and gambling with the Lord's money you think that God I mean if God got mad about someone lying about an offering here you don't think God's gonna get really angry at somebody gambling with the Lord's money and going around and using it for prostitution and using it for these drugs and look God severely punished Donny Romero now he may not have taken his life right away like in some of these examples but I don't want to have the consequences of what happened to him I don't want to have my life just completely nuked and destroyed and just to be just a complete folly and shame and so we say why did that happen because God is going to expose that type of sin and wickedness to put the fear into people again and say hey you pastors you better be careful what you do because it's a pastor's not above the law either I look you say oh well pastor can get away with anything look God can expose anybody he wants whenever he wants to no one is going to get away and even the most wicked evil people in our government that are super high up they constantly are getting exposed they're constantly getting you know their lives nuked and just everyone makes them they're just a complete folly and shame because you're not gonna get away with anything you know people like Andrew Como now just everything in his life is just being turned upside down this is the governor of New York and he was getting a lot of praise and he's very liberal Democrat and he's done a lot of you know weird things and made some questionable decisions but now he's getting exposed for having made horrible decisions when it came to COVID and then there's all these allegations of him you know harassing and abusing his interns and other women that worked with him and so he's just getting he's just a firestorm of just all these you know things that are happening to him and look God will expose the wicked God will destroy the wicked and their name will rot you know we look at things today and we see how Facebook and YouTube and Twitter and all these things they're trying to cover up all of the shame for these people and all the evil that our government's doing but when people look in the past when people you know 10 20 30 years from now when they look back they're not gonna believe all the lies they're gonna say oh look at look at all these people that thought they're gonna get away with all their sin they thought they were gonna get away with all their evil and the things that they did look it will be exposed eventually you know when we look back in history we can tell all the coups and all the weird plots and all the evil that these people did and it may have been in the moment they were able to disguise it for a little while but you know what the truth that will eventually come out they'll eventually be exposed and they'll be shown to be the fraud that they are and so you cannot hide from God don't think that you can hide from God you can hide from every single person on the planet but you can't hide from God and God will expose those that are just in presumptuous sins and rebellion to him look what it says in verse number 12 and by the hands of the Apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch and of the rest there's no man joined himself to them but the people magnified them and believers were the more added to the Lord multitudes both of men and women so verse 12 kind of picks back up kind of like we had verses 1 through 11 just kind of like a quick anecdote about Anais and Sapphira but we're kind of picking back up with the with the church and notice it's telling us that they're meeting specifically in Solomon's porch so they're meeting in a specific place near the temple or around the temple and it says in verse 13 the rest durst no man join himself to them the them there is the Apostles okay because it's telling us that the Apostles were doing a lot of signs and they're doing a lot of wonders and it's saying nobody really wanted to join themselves nobody wants to be like I'm on team Apostle or you know I'm their buddy or I'm with them you know they hold them in high regard but they're kind of afraid to be associated with them why because they're very unpopular because they're very infamous because they have a bad reputation with the chief rulers and they've already gotten severe persecution and nobody wants that type of persecution so they just kind of keep them at a distance you know it makes me think a lot of things today there's people today and there's churches today and there's groups today where people like I don't really you know that's a great church but I don't want to go to it because you know I don't really want to have that same reputation I don't want to join myself under these people I don't want to admit that I watched the sodomite deception you know I watched it it was great but I on an anonymous YouTube channel I said it was a great film you know I don't want to actually put my name with it or put my name with the church or put my name with a certain pastor or anything like that and so there's lots of people that have respect under the apostles but they're just not gonna be public about it you know they're not gonna go around and tell everybody about it because they're afraid but the apostles are getting lots of people saved it says multitudes both men and women it also says in verse 15 in so much that they brought forth the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and couches that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them there came also multiple out of the city's roundabout under Jerusalem bringing sick folks and them which were vexed with unclean spirits and they were healed notice this everyone now the Bible had said that they were doing the apostles doing signs and wonders and notice they're killing everyone again you know people like to try and say oh we still have these same type of giftings and the caries maniacs are going around trying to heal people and stuff but notice that they healed every single person there wasn't a single person turned away now which church service which carries maniac has ever done that which carries maniac his literal shadow is just healing people this is obviously a special circumstance in the Bible where the apostles have special abilities given to them by the Lord to perform these miracles why they're there they're viscerally hated okay the guys that just crucified Jesus they didn't go anywhere they're still here they're still kicking okay what would they do to Peter and these guys kill them too so God is giving them just miraculous signs and wonders just these incredible things to do so as to protect them from impending death to protect them from being destroyed because they could not destroy them in Acts chapter number four because a notable miracle had been done upon the impotent man upon the lame man I got the guy the guy that couldn't walk if that hadn't happened they would just kill this they would just torch this guy you know they would get rid of them if they fear the people because the people are like how can you deny all these miracles how can you deny all these people that are getting healed you know this is obviously God okay and even great boldness had come on the church as a whole that they were preaching the word and so the church here it's kind of funny they're they're meeting like on enemy lines they're meeting in the temple area but nobody can really do anything about it because God's just pouring out so many miracles and so many signs and so many wonders and it's so incredible that the literal shadow of Peter is even healing people now look what it says in verse number 17 then the high priest rose up and all they that were with him which is the sect of the Sadducees and were filled with indignation now this is just sad think about this what's happening okay imagine if we had a visitor come to our church okay and he just miraculously healed every single person in our church and they're preaching the Bible like we've never heard it before and then I'm just like get out of here you're you worthless scum what that will be a wicked attitude for the pastor you know for the leader what if the leader really cares about people or he's just getting all these people say what if we had church tonight and some visitor came and he came with 500 people that he just got saved he wants to bring to our church now and then I'm getting mad at him for doing that right because here's the thing the the Apostles they're leading people to Christ they're winning people to the Lord they're getting people healed and notice the leaders they're mad about it they're mad that people are getting healed they're mad that people are coming to the Lord they're mad that God is being magnified why because they're losing reputation reputation because they're envious of Peter they're envious notice that the Apostles are magnified people really like these guys they're giving them a lot of honor and they're like it's Peter you know and these guys they want all the honor they want all the glory and so they're mad not because they you know not for any righteous reason they're just simply mad because they're jealous or they're envious specifically of the Apostles and the glory that they're receiving but again Peter and them they don't want the glory they're just trying to give it to the Lord it's just they're gonna obviously get some glory in the sense they just healed all these people and people just want to even get in the shadow of Peter just so they can get healed and so this is what you have to understand is that the false teachers of today and the leaders of today in religious circles they are gonna be mad when you start doing great work for the Lord hey when you start seeing a lot of people saved and you start doing great wonders for the Lord and you start preaching the right doctrine and a lot of people hearing you they're gonna get mad and they're gonna attack you for your notoriety that just inevitably comes because the Lord is lifting you up okay verse number 18 it says and laid their hands on the Apostles and put them in the common prison they threw them in prison now the Romans they don't care you know the Romans aren't interested in this type of fight you know and this is what I look at it you know the police they don't care about a soul winning honestly they don't really care but you know who ends up caring the religious leaders you know you knock on people's door and the people that are really you shouldn't be going around here knocking I'm a Christian and I would never knock on a door and it's like they're just mad because they're not doing it they're mad because they're not right with God they're mad because they're envious of what you're doing and so they'll call the cops on you and they'll try to get the police to arrest you but look the cops they don't care they're just they just want the next donut okay they just they're just waiting to get off on their shift they don't want it they don't even want to take any calls for any reason and if anything you know they want to fight real crime they want to you know get drugs off the street or they want to get the criminals to be brought to justice the murderers and the thieves and everything like that they're not interested and you know the argument between two different Christians you know the two different types of denominations out there whatever it's the religious leaders that care and you know what it's no different today today it's the religious leaders that are going to oppose us and hate on us and try to get us the most persecution possible it says in verse number 19 but the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors and brought them forth and said go stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life and when they heard that they entered into the temple early in the morning and top the high priest came and they that were with them and call the council together and all the Senate of the children of Israel and sent to the prison to have them brought so they get thrown in prison but the notice God just performs a miracle and an angel comes and just opens the door it just gets them out of there and then guess what he tells them do it again he didn't have a new message he didn't say oh you guys got thrown in prison well now we need to radically change our program now he says hey go to the temple and preach again and then they got thrown in prison and it's like go to go back and preach again and they get thrown in prison it's like go back again and you're gonna find later they're in prison and then it's like go back just keep preaching the Bible and so notice God's message doesn't change hey you get persecuted keep preaching the Bible I mean what there's not things much worse than being thrown in prison obviously death and at that point you're not gonna be told to go preach again but if you're in prison I mean that's about one of the worst punishments you can get and he's saying you know what go back out there get back in the game keep preaching the Bible don't stop preaching you know when you should stop preaching when you physically can't when you physically can't that's when you stop preaching the Bible there is no reason to stop preaching the Bible look that's the whole purpose of us being here you know God gave you a mouth so you could preach the gospel not so you could you know sing rap songs or whatever not so you could just say whatever foolish thoughts come to your mind no so you can preach the Word of God that's why you have all the things that you have today hey you have feet so you can go hey you have hands so you can hold the Bible hey you have a mouth so you can preach the gospel hey God gave you the things that you have so you can accomplish his work he's well equipped you and all you need to do is just have the faith to go out and preach the gospel and say well if he wants me in prison he wants me in prison maybe he'll just send an angel and get me out now the chief priest they didn't realize what happened so they're trying to figure out what they're gonna do with these guys that they've just thrown in prison they just put them in prison temporarily to figure out what they're gonna do and they're gonna bring them back but says in verse 22 when but when the officers came and found them not in the prison they returned and told saying the prison truly found me shut with all safety and the keeper standing without before the doors but when we had opened we found no man with him now when the high priest and the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these things they doubted of them where into this would grow then came one and told them saying behold the men whom he put in prison are standing in the temple and teaching the people now here's what crazy think if you were like if you were one of these you know Sadducees okay you killed Jesus and you buried him in tomb and you made it certain you made it sure and then it's gone and you don't know where Jesus went and then you take these guys and you they're doing miracles miracles Jesus did all these miracles they're doing these miracles then you put them in prison and they're somehow not there again and they're never thinking like hey maybe we're on the wrong side of this fight here something weird stuff they're just implacable and here's the reality reprobates are implacable they're also not going to stop just like Christ wants us to not stop the reprobates are also not going to stop they want you to be destroyed and the only thing that ever prevents them is their own safety if their safety is on the line then they may you know shy away from hurting or harming you but as long as they feel like they're safe they're gonna just try to destroy you to the best of their ability because they fear the people often is why they end up letting them go or not destroying them but they want to destroy them just like Jesus they're afraid of other people hearing about this they're not afraid of the fact that it happened they're afraid of people finding out why because they don't want people to say they can't do anything against them God's on their side they just don't want the truth to get out they want to censor the truth oh it sounds like a world I might live in it says in verse number at 26 then with the captain with the officers and brought them without violence for they feared the people lest they should have been stoned so they still go and get them they're like we're gonna get them in the prison well they're not there all right we'll get them in the temple okay but they didn't want to grab them and violently take them because they're afraid that the people literally stoned them to death because they're afraid that I mean the people are realizing what's going on here okay they're not ignorant of what's happening here so they take them peaceably supposedly they take them it says in verse 28 our verse 20 it says they brought him to the high priest it says verse 28 saying did we not straightly command you that you should not teach in his name and behold he have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine and intend to bring this man's blood upon us well we don't intend you you did kill him you said let his blood be on us and on her children you know we didn't force you to say that one okay but notice what happened they accomplished the goal of filling the entire city with their doctrine that should be the goal and you know what sometimes God is gonna put you through the wringer for a certain reason to fill the city with your doctrine you know sometimes when you get persecuted you know a lot of times what happens is you get a lot of attention and then that attention ends up doing what causing the word God to spread and so you should count yourself worthy you know pastor Mejia he recently got a lot of attention because the church is bombed but you know what I bet he filled almighty with his doctrine I bet he filled almighty with the gospel a lot more because of that incident and you know what God can use incidents like that to get his word out and so what did pastor Mejia do did pastor Mejia say well I'm done now nope he's still going to church and hey if the next church gets bombed then you know what he's supposed to do get another church and if that church gets bombed get another church and if that church gets bombed get another church because you're not supposed to stop you're supposed to fill the city with God's doctrine you're supposed to fill Jerusalem with the doctrine of God hey you know when we stop preaching the gospel in Houston when everybody's gotten the gospel over and over and over and over and over and over again you never stop you just keep filling the city with the doctrine of God and you try and pull out as many people from the fire as you possibly can and they're saying well we told you not to preach look at the verse 29 then Peter and all the other apostles answered and said we ought to obey God rather than men that's not a coincidence that we have the story of Ananias and Zephira and notice Zephira should have obeyed God rather than her husband and we have Peter showing us the example you know what I'm not gonna be look you threw me in prison the angel brought me out I'm not gonna obey you I mean wait what are you thinking I'm gonna obey God verse 30 the God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom ye slew and hanged on a tree him have God exalted with his right hand to be a prince and the Savior for to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins and we are his witnesses of these things and so is also the Holy Ghost whom God hath given to them that obey him now again what is verse 32 potentially mean if we just isolated it well obviously the obedience there is believing on the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved that's how you get the whole the gift of the Holy Ghost as far as salvation that's how you get eternal life okay and that would be the only obedience the other way you could look at is if you're talking about the power of the Holy Ghost that does come through some obedience of following God's commandments or being filled with the Spirit can be tied to following his commandments but in no way shape or form can we take verse 32 and then say oh it's it's work salvation you know but some people like to just take a verse out and say oh yeah you want the Holy Ghost you want repentance you got to obey him but that would be a complete twisting of this passage verse 33 when they heard that they were cut to the heart and got saved no and took counsel to slay them notice you know they've been preached the gospel over and over they heard about the gospel they know they keep putting these people in prison and they can't look their only goal now is just they just have to shut them up and they want to kill them now here's the thing if given just the ability to do whatever they want they would kill them but God is gonna give them deliverance look at verse 34 then stood there up one in the council a Pharisee named Gamaliel a doctor of the law had in reputation among all people and commanded to put the Apostles forth a little space and said unto them even of Israel take heed to yourselves what you intend to do as touching these men for behold these days rose up through this boasting himself to be somebody to whom a number of men about 400 joined themselves who was slain and all as many as obeyed him were scattered and brought to not after this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing and drew away much people after him he also perished in all even as many as obeyed him were dispersed and now I say unto you refrain from these men and let them alone for if this council or if or this work be of men it will come to not but if it be of God he cannot overthrow it lest happily he be found even to fight against God and to him they agreed and when they had called the Apostles and beaten them they commanded they should not speak in the name of Jesus and let them go and they departed from the council rejoicing that they were kind of worthy to suffer shame for his name and daily in the temple in every house they cease not to teach and preach Jesus Christ so we see here that they get deliverance and they get it specifically through a man named Gamaliel and this is very interesting you know God can rise up someone and give them deliverance and protect you you know they would think well we're gonna die now they've already noticed that they can't keep us in prison and they already know that they want to kill us just like they killed Jesus but notice God somehow allows them to escape this punishment and Gamaliel ends up using a very interesting logic with these people he says look there was other people that led some kind of rebellion or some kind of a sedition through this or Judas and these guys ended up just you know finding not panning out they eventually just kind of dissipated and their movements were destroyed and the reality is that any movement of man will inch and eventually come to not it'll eventually be destroyed but the things that are of God you cannot destroy you cannot get rid of go forward to Ecclesiastes chapter number three I want to show you a couple verses here what would be some things that cannot be overthrown cannot be destroyed well here's one the church Jesus Christ clearly said unto Peter that thou art he said unto Peter that thou art thou art that rock and upon this rock will I build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it you know so he said hey the gates of hell are not gonna run the church is gonna exist and look the church was started a long time ago we're reading about it we're reading about the beginning formation of the Church of God was it overthrown nope we're still here and let me tell you something the church will not be destroyed hey the devil is gonna throw everything you can at the church but God's Church will not be destroyed here's another thing salvation by faith it's not gonna be destroyed it's gonna continue going by from faith the faith the faith saved people are gonna always exist you're not gonna get rid of Christianity it'll never be destroyed hey the Beatles said that Christianity be long and gone and people would still be singing their songs I'm not singing a Beagle song and I'm still here and let me tell you what no one in this room knows any songs virtually from like 150 years ago 200 years ago there ain't nobody singing those and let me tell you what 150 years from now 200 years ago no one's gonna be singing the Beatles and the way music's going it might not even sound like music anymore I don't know it's me some weird just today it's just incoherent nonsense just basically just be like going down to speaking in tongues you know everything falls Christian music basically because like in the 80s and 90s it was like this soft contemporary rock and roll and then you get like the Thag Street Boys I'm sorry Backstreet Boys and you know all these weird NSYNC groups and they sound like the Christian contemporary singers and now you have the Pentecostals I don't know that's a tangent but here's the thing if it's a if it's a work of God it's not gonna be destroyed what's another thing the Bible hey they keep coming out with new versions of NIV but we just keep pulling out the 1611 King James Bible don't we we keep pulling out and obviously it's a 1769 revision but here's the thing the King James Bible hasn't changed a word we're not changing the words of the Bible and they can keep changing the pronouns until they get to him his her you know she it whatever they want to call it you know what our Bible is gonna stay the same and you're not gonna overthrow it it's still the most popular book in human history you're not gonna get rid of the works of God look at Ecclesiastes chapter number three and let's read a verse a couple verses here but it says in verse number 13 and also that every man should eat and drink and enjoy the good of all his labor it's the gift of God I know that whatsoever God doeth it shall be forever nothing can be put to it nor anything taken from it and God doeth it that men should fear before him hey the things that are of God you can't touch it you can't destroy it you can try and you will fail miserably you cannot destroy the things of God and so that's the logic that Camille is using and it's biblical logic okay let me show you another example that go to Revelation chapter number three go to Revelation chapter number three and so what you have to understand is the things that are of God the the movements of God the works of God you're not gonna destroy it you're not gonna do anything to it okay if anything you're just gonna cause it to be more powerful or or to go out with more praise and honor and glory and when we look at a church today you know if we look at a church that's built upon the rock okay it's built upon the Lord Jesus Christ and it has him as its foundation you're not gonna destroy it and people get really mad sometimes they get mad at like me or they've gotten mad at like my sin sinning pastor pastor Anderson because you know they'll be this bozo pastor that starts preaching all this false doctrine and they start teaching all these lies and then basically we'll just call them out publicly for it and they're like you're destroying our church well here's the thing if you're of God I can't destroy your church hey it doesn't and lies can't destroy the Church of God anyways okay so if you're getting destroyed it's probably because you're wicked it's because you're not of God and let me tell you what these bozos and weirdos and freaks they're not going to continue going on and the false prophets they end up just coming to not they end up just getting washed up their fruit is all wicked they have nothing that lasts over nothing that's worthwhile you know people will point to all kinds of ministries of the past and then you look you're like well where's the fruit of that ministry where's the fruit of that church where's the fruit of you know that movement it just completely dissipated into nothing because it was not of God there's all kinds of movements and churches that get destroyed and then nobody knows anything about it you know there's a church that has a lot of fruit though let me give you a church of the past how about First Baptist Church of Hammond Indiana with Jack Hiles you know you can still find thousands of churches today where the guy got sent out of that church where they're still winning souls of Christ where they still believe a lot of the fundamentals of the doctrine you know why because he was a he was a man of God because it was a movement of God and you can't overthrow it and we still see the fruit of that ministry whereas wicked ministries like a Peter Ruckman okay show me the guy that believes right on the Bible that's from Peter Ruckman's ministry you got Sam Gipp, Gene Kim, you got Andrew Sluder these guys are heretics and losers and nobody even likes them anyways okay there's no fruit and then when they pass on just it'll be just you know for a bygone Peter Ruckman will be nothing anymore nobody even hear about him there was another guy named Bob Gray and I think it's Bob Gray jr. and there's multiple people with this name okay there's a Bob Gray jr. that's like close to the Dallas war they were in Longview not him but there was a Bob Gray jr. in Jacksonville Florida of yesteryear and this guy at one point supposedly had 1,500 members or had lots of people and they were a soul winning church or whatever but here's the thing the guy was a pedophile and he got caught and he's just in jail or I don't know if he's dead yet or not but just completely destroyed and the church has gone and there's no fruit from that ministry now why because it wasn't a work of God and it's funny because manly Perry he pointed to that as a picture of how Judas had fruit of how a modern-day Judas could have fruit and do all these good works but here's the thing where's the fruit of that guy's ministry where's all the other churches where's all the same people I've never met anybody from his church that saved where's all the people that came from his church you know a tree is known by its fruit today and here's the thing the things that are of God are gonna be known they're gonna be manifested of God everything will come to the light today and so we're questioning a church a ministry or a person here's the thing we'll eventually figure it out it'll eventually ring true we'll eventually know if it was of God or if it was of men because the things that are of God hey you can't overthrow it you can't destroy it that's why it's so important to build your foundation on the Word of God to build it on the King James Bible to build it on the right doctrines of God because you know what when you're standing upon the rock the gates of hell can't destroy you look what it says in Revelation chapter number three and verse seven and the angel of the church in Philadelphia right these things say he that is holy he that is true he that at the key of David he that openeth and no man shutteth and shutteth and no man openeth hey when God opens the door for you no man can shut it and if God closes the door no man can open it and so really we have to just be on God's side and notice when you're on God's side no one can stop Peter no one can stop John no one can stop the Apostles from accomplishing the work that God has for them and as you read the book of Acts you're gonna notice this that it's an unstoppable gospel that's going out it's an unstoppable word and they're trying their hardest I mean they're stoning Paul they're beating him with rods they're trying to kill this guy they're consciously trying to kill Peter and obviously they do end up having some martyrs James ends up getting killed and certain apostles are martyrs but you know what the word of God's not bound and the Word of God didn't stop with them and the Word of God just keeps thundering forth and you know what the Word of God is not going to stop with us the Word of God is not bound with us and we want to be of God and if we're a movement of God nothing can stop us but ourselves we're the only ones that can stop ourselves and we don't want to pull an anise in Sephira we want to just stay you know you know preaching the right doctrines and being right with God we don't want to be like Jezebel we want to be like the Church of Philadelphia where God says hey I've opened a door for you guys and look there is an open door in Houston there is not a plethora of soul-winning King James only fired up churches in this area and there needs to be one and I believe God has opened a door for this church and we need to just trust in God and the door that he's open for us and notice what did they do they cease not to teach and preach Jesus Christ hey they're doing it daily in the temple and from house to house they cease not to teach and preach Jesus Christ and so we should have the same testimony hey purest Baptist Church no matter what happens to us no matter what ups and downs no matter what evil may befall us we need to be have the testimony that they did hey we're not going to cease from teaching and preaching Jesus Christ God could use an angel God could use a male God could use all kinds of things to give us deliverance we just need to have the faith that if God's open the door that we're just going to be the faithful ones to walk right through it closing prayer thank you father so much for word thank you for this great church and for these stories and thank you for giving us an opportunity to serve you I pray that we'd realize the open doors that you've given us in our life today and that we just walk through them that we would decide to have the faith and the courage and the boldness to continue to preach the Word of God and no matter what lies ahead no matter what evil has been formed against us no matter what the devil may try to throw at us we realize that we're standing on the rock and we have the shield of faith today and we want to just continue to go out and to slay with the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God and Jesus name we pray amen our last song of the evening let's go to song 129 song 129 rock of ages there in the first rock of ages cleft for me let me hide myself in thee let the water and the blood from thy wounded side which flowed be of sin the double cure save from wrath and make me pure could my tears forever flow could my zeal no linger no these for sin could not atone thou must save in thou alone in my hand no price I bring simply to thy cross I cling while I draw this fleeting breath when my eyes shall close in death when I rise to worlds unknown and behold the on thy throne rock of ages cleft for me let me hide myself in me thank you so much for coming you are dismissed you you
