(Disclaimer: This transcript is auto-generated and may contain mistakes.) . . All right. Good evening, everyone. Welcome to Mountain Baptist Church. If you would, turn in your hymnal to song number 410. Song number 410. If we would all stand, we'll sing faith is the victory. Song number 410. Encamped along the hills of light, ye Christian soldiers rise and press the battle air. The night shall veil the glowing skies. Against the foe in veils below, let all our strength be hurled. Faith is the victory we know that overcomes the world. Faith is the victory. Faith is the victory. Oh, glorious victory that overcomes the world. His banner over us, his love, our sword, the word of God. We tread the road, the saints above, with shouts of triumph trod. By faith they like a whirlwind's breath swept on o'er every field. The faith by which they conquered death is still our shining shield. Faith is the victory. Faith is the victory. Oh, glorious victory that overcomes the world. On every hand the foe we find drawn up in dread array. Let tense of ease be left behind and onward to the fray. Salvation's helmet on each head with truth all girt about. The earth shall tremble neath our tread and echo with a shout. Faith is the victory. Faith is the victory. Oh, glorious victory that overcomes the world. To him that overcomes the foe, white raiment shall be given. Before the angels he shall know his name confessed in heaven. Then onward from the hills of light, our heart with love aflame will vanquish all the hosts of night in Jesus' conquering name. Faith is the victory. Faith is the victory. Oh, glorious victory that overcomes the world. Amen. Let's pray. Father, thank you so much for this church. Thank you for the service. I just pray that you would bless the service and fill pastor with your Holy Spirit and help us to be edified and learn something tonight. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen. All right, you may be seated. And just flip one page over to song 411. This is song 411. We'll sing Hold the Fort. Song 411. Oh, my comrade, see the signal waving in the sky. Reinforcements now appearing, victory is nigh. Hold the fort, for I am coming. Jesus, signal still. Wave the answer back to heaven. By thy grace we will see the mighty host advancing, Satan leading on. Mighty men around us falling, courage almost gone. Hold the fort, for I am coming. Jesus, signal still. Wave the answer back to heaven. By thy grace we will see the glorious banner waving. Hear the trumpet blow. In our leader's name we'll triumph over every foe. Hold the fort, for I am coming. Jesus, signal still. Wave the answer back to heaven. By thy grace we will. Fierce and long the battle rages, but our help is near. Onward comes our great commander. Cheer, my comrades, cheer. Hold the fort, for I am coming. Jesus, signal still. Wave the answer back to heaven. By thy grace we will. Amen. Welcome to Mount Baptist Church on this Wednesday evening, and just some announcements here. Be in prayer for all those that aren't feeling well, so pretty much half the Gandy family is not feeling well. No, I'm just kidding. I just can't speak, but Anna had a fever a day ago, and so we're keeping her back just to be safe on that, just make sure she's not contagious or anything like that. I don't know if something's going around or what, but if you have a fever, then stay home. That's my advice. Obviously, I want you to be here at church as much as you can, but if you have a fever, then that means that you're contagious, and technically seven days after the fever breaks is when they say that you're not contagious anymore, so I'm not going to police you. I'm not taking your temperature at the door, but that's my suggestion. Everything's pretty much the same as on Sunday as far as all the service times are normal there. Our chapter memory for this month is Galatians chapter four, and we're actually going to be doing Galatians chapter three today, and so we're kind of going through Galatians as we're also memorizing it. Revelation chapter three and verse five is our memory verse for the week, and soul-winning times are all on here. We have our main soul-winning time on Sunday, so that's not changed or anything like that. The women's prayer meeting is Saturday, so don't forget about that, and upcoming events. We have our soul-winning marathon in Moundsville on September 11th and then our anniversary on September 12th. So yeah, we're getting close. We're almost a month away from that, but just be in prayer for that. If you can't make it to that, just be in prayer for it that we see a lot of people saved on that trip. And then obviously on the back here, you have the pregnancies, and so all the ladies on here that are on the pregnancy list be in prayer for them and for their families and all that. That's pretty much what I got for announcements that I can think of. So we're going to be doing one more song, and then brother Joseph's going to be reading Galatians chapter three for us. All right, turn your song books to sign number 102. It's on number 102, He Hideth My Soul. Song number 102. A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord, a wonderful Savior to me. He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock where rivers of pleasure I see. He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock that shadows a dry, thirsty land. He hideth my life in the depths of his love and covers me there with his hand, and covers me there with his hand. A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord, he taketh my burden away. He holdeth me up, and I shall not be moved. He giveth me strength as my day. He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock that shadows a dry, thirsty land. He hideth my life in the depths of his love and covers me there with his hand, and covers me there with his hand. With numberless blessings each moment he crowns and filled with his fullness divine. I sing in my rapture, oh glory to God, for such a Redeemer as mine. He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock that shadows a dry, thirsty land. He hideth my life in the depths of his love and covers me there with his hand, and covers me there with his hand. When clothed in his brightness, transported I rise to meet him in clouds of the sky. His perfect salvation, his wonderful love, I'll shout with the millions on high. He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock that shadows a dry, thirsty land. He hideth my life in the depths of his love and covers me there with his hand, and covers me there with his hand. Galatians chapter three. And if you found your place there, you'll say amen. O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you that you should not obey the truth before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? This only would I learn of you, receive you the Spirit by the works of the law, or by hearing of faith. Are ye so foolish, having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? Have ye suffered so many things in vain, if it be yet in vain? He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith. Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness, know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. And a scripture foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse, for it is written, Cursed is everyone that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. By that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident, for the just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith, but the man that doeth them shall live in them. Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us. For it is written, Cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree, that the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Brethren, I speak after the manner of men, though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disanaleth or addeth thereto. Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made, he said not, and to seeds as many, but as of one, and to thy seed which is Christ. This I say, that the covenant that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law which was 430 years after, cannot disanal that it should make the promise of none effect. For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more promised, but God gave it to Abraham by promise. Wherefore then serveth the law. It was added because of transgressions, to the seed should come to whom the promise was made, and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one. It is the law then against the promises of God, God forbid. For if there had been a law given which could have given life, fairly righteousness should have been by the law. But the scripture hath concluded all under sin that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. But before faith came we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female, for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise. Let's pray. Lord Father thank you for this time that we're able to gather together midweek here. Lord, thank you for your pure and holy word you've given to us. Lord, I ask you be through this study of Galatians 3. Be with Pastor Robinson in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen. So you're there in Galatians chapter 3 and we are continuing our study through the book of Galatians and one of my favorite chapters of the whole Bible to be honest with you. I love Galatians chapter 3. And Galatians chapter 3 really hits on salvation by faith alone and not by works but it also destroys Zionism and the fact that well the Jews that reject Christ are God's chosen people. No, it's those that believe on Christ that are God's chosen people. And Galatians 1 here, notice how it starts off. And you think sometimes when you know I'll be you know considered one of those hate preachers or I'm too crass or I say things that are too you know just too hard or whatever. Look at verse one here. Oh foolish Galatians. That's how he starts off saying starting off this chapter. Oh foolish Galatians who hath bewitched you that you should not obey the truth before whose eyes Jesus Christ have been evidently set forth crucified among you. So this is a strong rebuke that he's giving the Galatians. Now what's the what's the modus operandi of this this book right? The idea is that there's people that are perverting the gospel of Jesus Christ that are in somewhere in the churches of Galatia and he is writing to them saying hey there's someone troubling you and perverting the gospel of Christ adding circumcision to to the gospel. And then he's he's basically going to them saying hey how are you so foolish to have been swayed by this right? Because at the beginning in chapter one he's saying I marvel that you are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel which is not another. So he's marveling at it. Here he's just saying you're a bunch of fools for for being persuaded into this. And notice what it says uh in verse two here it says this only what I learn of you. Okay so he's asking questions right? He's like he's basically saying who hath bewitched you? Who is this? Who did this? And then he's saying this only what I learn to you received you the spirit by the works of law or by the hearing of faith. Okay so the spirit of God that you have did you receive that by doing the works of the law keeping the commandments or did you receive that by the hearing of faith meaning faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God being born again not of corruptible seed but of incorruptible by the word of God which liveth and abideth forever. The idea here is that it's by faith that you receive that spirit it's not by the works of the law. And he's saying he's basically just saying this is the only thing I need to know. How did you get that spirit? Right? How did you get it? Was it by the works of the law or by faith? And this next verse I love this next verse. Okay notice what it says in verse three are ye so foolish having begun in the spirit are ye now made perfect by the flesh. Now this is literally what most Christian churches teach. Okay is that well no no you can say by by grace and it's by faith but you got to live a good life after that. What is he saying? Are you so foolish having begun in the spirit are you now made perfect by the flesh? What is he just got what did you just get done talking about about the works of the law? So when it says that did you receive the spirit by the works of the law or by the hearing of faith and then the dichotomy that he's going into is that you've begun in the spirit how by faith right but then are you gonna be made perfect by the by the flesh that's by the works of the law. So isn't that what most people teach okay is that now some people will just straight up say you got to repent your sins there has to be works at the beginning too and all that stuff right but most people with their forked tongue that are preaching false gospels are yeah it's by grace it's by faith but after you get saved there's got to be works there's got to be a change in your life there's got to be you know the fact that you're keeping the commandments if you're not keeping the commandments then you're not saved. What does Paul say here says are you so foolish having begun in the spirit are you now made perfect by the flesh? A bunch of fools that's what he's calling them okay because you weren't made perfect you know you weren't saved by works how did you stay saved by works well keep reading there it says verse four have you suffered so many things in vain if it be yet in vain he therefore that ministered to you the spirit and worketh miracles among you do it yet by the works of law by the hearing of faith these are all rhetorical questions by the way okay he knows the answer to it it's obviously by the hearing of faith it's by faith that they're saved it's by faith that they're perfected it's by faith that they do miracles it's by faith that they minister the spirit it's not by the works of law and if you don't believe me read the rest of the chapter okay which we're going to get to but now this makes me think of you know go to first peter chapter one first peter chapter one i love that verse though in galatians chapter three verse three because he's really just being he's being crass he's being blunt and he's saying are you so foolish having begun in the spirit now made perfect by the flesh and that should be the moniker that should be the moniker verse for all these christian churches out there when it comes to methodists church of christ catholics you know all these baptists that think that you have to live a good life or that you have to you know show that you're saved later on and all that or persevere onto the end you know that should be their moniker verse are you so foolish you know and that that should be their moniker we are foolish to think that we're made perfect by the flesh okay that we've begun in the spirit but now we're made perfect by the flesh but notice what it says in first peter chapter one and verse five it says who are kept by the power of god through works of the law is that what it says no who are kept by the power of god through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time we are kept by the power of god but how why are we kept by the power of god because it's by faith that we're kept by the power of god the moment we believe on on jesus christ we are kept by the power of god and that salvation he's the one that keeps us saved he is he ever liveth to make intercession for us to save us unto the uttermost he didn't just save us for a little bit as soon as we oh it's by grace at the very beginning only at the beginning though is it by grace and then after that it's got to be by works that is foolish that's what paul is saying he's saying are you so foolish oh foolish galatians who have bewitched you and it's basically like this enchantment someone had to put you into some kind of trance or enchantment for you to think something like this because it's not what they preached it's not the gospel and verse nine go down to verse nine for first peter chapter one and verse nine it says receiving the end of your faith even the salvation of your souls so listen it's by faith that you're saved and it's by faith that you stay saved it's by faith that you're always going to be saved faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen faith is the victory that saves our souls okay it's not by works at all okay it's not by works before you get saved it's not by works when you get saved and it's not by works after you get saved okay and anything anybody that teaches anything other than that or it teaches teaches the fact that there's works involved in any point before during after you get saved they're a false prophet they're preaching a false gospel and the bible says if any man preach any of the gospel unto you then that which you have received let him be accursed okay and this is the this is the reasoning for galatians this is why he's writing this okay just like jude is written so that you earnestly contend for the face which was first delivered unto the saints and so you know jude was written for that reason now go back to galatians chapter three because now he's setting it up he's basically calling them out you bunch of fools to think that you started off by faith but now you're doing it by works okay and then he goes through this toward a force on the fact that it's by faith and not by works and i love this because you know what a lot of dispensational people want to think that well it's in the new testament that you're saved by faith and not by works but who does he go back to who is he using to show that you're saved by faith and not by works abraham by the way that's before the old testament okay i know it's in the old testament you know what we'd call the old testament but by the way abraham was born before isaac and isaac was uh born before jacob and jacob was born before judah and levi and all them and that was before moses okay so abraham is before the old testament was established but notice here in verse six even as abraham believed god and it was accounted to him for righteousness know ye therefore that they which are of faith the same are the children of abraham and the scripture for seeing that god would justify the heathen through faith preached before the gospel unto abraham saying in thee shall all nations be blessed so then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful abraham so it says here that abraham believed god and it was accounted to him for righteousness now i could go to romans 4 and go through that toward a force but i'm not going to do it tonight okay because romans 4 and galatians 3 go hand in glove and they are they are just a powerhouse uh passages to overlap and go to genesis chapter 15 because genesis 15 and verse 6 is where it says this statement now it's a it's worded a little different than what it says uh the way it's it's uh said stated in galatians 3 but this statement that abraham believed god and it was accounted unto righteousness is used three times in the new testament okay you'll find it in romans chapter 4 galatians chapter 1 and you'll find it in hebrews chapter 10 i'm pretty sure hebrews chapter 10 um or it's 12 no 10 it's 10 okay hebrews chapter 10 that uh no the one i was going to say i'm thinking about too many so you you'll find it in roman chapter 4 galatians chapter 1 and then you'll um galatians chapter 3 and then you'll find it in james chapter 2 that's what i'm going to say what i was going to state is that later on it talks about the just shall live by faith and that's mentioned three times in the new testament and you'll find that in hebrews chapter 10 and you'll find it here uh in galatians chapter 3 and you'll find it in roman chapter 1 okay so that being said is that it's interesting how these these powerhouse passages of abraham believed god and it's counted in for righteousness and the just shall live by faith both those are found in galatians 3 and both those phrases are those turn those uh those passages are quoted three times in the new testament now where did i have you turn genesis 15 verse 6 it says and he believed in the lord and he counted it to him for righteousness now what romans 4 does is it it makes a point to say hey this is before you're circumcised okay and galatians is obviously all about circumcision about the fact that circumcision isn't a part of salvation that circumcision availeth nothing it's just really hammering that in okay that it's not about circumcision circumcision doesn't do anything for you okay and uh and and here you know in romans 4 it's hitting that point when was when was uh abraham when was it imputed and in for righteousness when he was circumcised or when he was uncircumcised and it says not in circumcision but in uncircumcision okay so it's very important to see that but i believe that abraham got saved before genesis 15 6 i believe genesis 15 6 is stating a fact okay not when he got saved or when he believed it but just stating a fact right if you said uh jason robinson believed in the lord and it was counted in for righteousness if you made that statement today that doesn't mean that i got saved today okay you're just stating a fact that i believed in the lord right or that i believe god and it was counted to me for righteousness now in genesis 12 the reason i i bring this or show this this passage because this is something that's going to be quoted um all right it's quoted here in in galatian chapter 3 so we read where it says the gospel was preached to abraham okay so in galatian you're in genesis 12 i want you to keep a finger in galatians chapter 3 because in galatians chapter 3 in verse 8 it says in the scripture foreseeing that god would justify the heathen through faith preached before the gospel unto abraham so what is this gospel okay what is this gospel that was preached unto abraham well it says saying so it's going to tell you what it is it says in thee shall all nations be blessed okay well let's go where that's found so in in genesis 12 verse 1 this is before abraham even leaves his own country okay because this is where god's telling him to come out from his country and verse 1 there it says now the lord had said unto abram get thee out of thy country and from thy kindred and from thy father's house unto a land that i will show thee and i will make of thee a great nation and i will bless thee and make thy name great and thou shalt be a blessing and i i will bless them that bless thee and curse them that curse thee and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed now that portion there where it says in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed galatians 3 is calling that the gospel okay now there's a reason why that's the gospel okay because we know that believe in the lord jesus christ now shall be saved we know that the gospel is to believe on christ okay um and and i and more specifically what he you know what he did the death metal resurrection okay but notice notice that i i personally believe that this is when abraham he got saved before he even left okay now go to hebrew chapter 11 go to hebrew chapter 11 verse 8 hebrew chapter 11 is what we'd call the hall of faith right so you have faith able by faith noah by faith abraham and then goes down the line of all these these men and women that had faith and uh believed right they had by faith they obtained a good report the bible says so um but in hebrew chapter 11 the first thing that said about abraham is verse 8 here notice this by faith abraham when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance obeyed and he went out not knowing whether he went now let me ask you this did he go out by faith or not okay so i believe that he got saved before he even left okay he had faith before he even left okay now if you disagree with me and you say well no i believe he got saved in genesis 15 okay it'd still be before he got circumcised okay so it wouldn't negate anything that the new testament states about that but i believe he got saved uh before he even left okay and the fact is is that it's stating that the gospel was preached unto him because what's being said is that that seed that was from genesis chapter three where it says that her seed shall bruise uh his head and it shall or and obviously the serpent seed you know shall bruise his heel and that prophecy of jesus that her seed was going to come through abraham okay which was going to come through jacob or isaac jacob judah down to david and then of the seed of david is who christ came through right so uh the idea here is that that's why he's saying in these all the the families of the earth be blessed because that's who jesus came from you don't you don't think that's important that it came from abraham why does the whole new testament start off this is the generation of the book of the generation of jesus christ the son of abraham the son of david or the son of david the son of abraham and abraham got isaac and isaac we had jacob and jacob and it goes down the line that's how the new testament starts is talking about the fact that jesus is the son of abraham the son of david the son of abraham those are the two main people that in the lineage that are mentioned a lot you know abraham and david okay now obviously isaac jacob judah you know they would all be in that line okay but uh being the seed of abraham and being the seed of david those are two very important things that are mentioned and go to i'm sorry genesis chapter 22 because what we're going to see in galatians and uh specifically in verse 16 is saying that the promises were made to abraham and to his seed and we went through the whole book of genesis and so we're gonna do that tonight no i'm just kidding um no but we went through the whole book of genesis and and i was showing you how in each case when he would say that he you know those that bless thee you know you know the the the thou the thine how it's a singular pronoun okay and how that was specific to abraham and then it said to thy seed singular okay galatians is going to nail that on the head and say that that is very important that it was to abraham and to his seed that's who the promises were made to okay not to any group of people not to abraham's children in general okay not to just his kindred in general but to him specifically into his seed in genesis chapter 22 this is right right after um he offers up his son isaac and obviously god doesn't let him actually uh you know sacrifice his son the the rams caught in the thicket that whole story verse 15 says the angel of the lord called unto abraham out of heaven the second time and said by myself have i sworn set the lord for because thou hast done this thing and has not withheld thy son thine only son that in blessing i will bless thee and in multiplying i will multiply notice this thy seed as the stars of heaven and as the sand which is upon the seashore and thy seed shall bless shall possess the gate of his enemies and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed because thou hast obeyed my voice so what do we see here that in abraham he says all nations shall be blessed and in abraham's seed and thy seed shall all nations be blessed okay now for sake of time i'm going to show you where that seed is always singular all the way through genesis every time it's mentioned and throughout the whole old testament it's singular and then when it talks about abraham being blessed the blessings of abraham it's to thee thy thou you know like going into the the why the king james is so important here is that it shows you that singular second person pronoun meaning you know exactly that he's talking to abraham specifically and no one else okay now go to galatians chapter 3 again and we're going to skip down because um to verse 15 because i just want to make this point that when we're talking about the gospel being preached of abraham that the gospel is that christ was going to come through him okay that's what the promise was to abraham christ was going to come through him and then he's going to bless all nations through christ okay and galatians just hits this on the head okay if you ever if you didn't understand the fact that god's chosen people or god's people are those that believe on christ whether Jew or gentile this chapter will prove that without a shadow of a doubt okay and notice what it says in verse 15 brethren i speak after the manner of men though it be but a man's covenant yet if it be confirmed no man disanaleth or add it there too notice in verse 16 now the abraham and his seed where the promise is made now what zionists will say and christian zionists that want to say well jews the jews are still god's chosen people even though they reject christ even though they they say he's you know basically in hell right now that they're still god's chosen people because the the blessings of god have been promised to all israelites okay to all those that are of abraham okay now if that were true we'd all be blessed too because just statistically speaking we're all children of abraham uh just look at a family tree and know how far that goes back and know that it's a statistical possibility to not have some blood from abraham okay it's ridiculous to even think any otherwise just as much as it's ridiculous it's even more ridiculous to say that we don't have any uh shem you know like oh you're anti-semite good night you're talking about noah who had three sons you're telling me that no i don't have one bit of shem in me that's ridiculous okay everybody's got shem ham and japheth in them and uh you're just going to deal with it but here's the thing though it's singular notice what it says in verse 16 now to abraham and his seed where the promise is made he saith not into seeds as of many but as of one into thy seed which is christ so when you see these promises made he said it's to abraham specifically and that's why it's important to know is to thee i will bless them that bless thee i will curse them that curse thee and in thee shall all the nations of the earth be blessed notice how it's very consistent at thee thy thy and then it says thy seed thy seed singular now all these new versions mess this up the new king james messes this up and says descendants all throughout genesis and then they'll they'll just say like all the descendants and all the you know all the the the they'll just use different terms okay but essentially it's multiple people okay whereas galatians that would just completely negate galatians 3 16 because it's saying it's singular that seed is christ now how does that apply to us because you say well okay the promises to abraham into into christ how do we get it on all that you know like how you know who else is getting blessed is it just abraham and christ that's getting blessed well keep or go down to verse 29 so the the chapter ends with the answer to that it says in verse 29 and if ye be christ's then are ye abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise and even before that it gave you the answer verse 7 so genesis 3 and verse 7 says know ye therefore the day which are of faith the same are the children of abraham and in verse 9 it says so then they which be of faith are blessed with faith faithful abraham it's like a spiritual sandwich in there where it says that in thee shall all nations of the earth be blessed that right before that it says if you're of faith your children of abraham at the end if you're of faith then you're blessed with abraham and it's showing you that hey those that are in christ are blessed with abraham because guess what abraham was in christ too because jesus is the root and the offspring of david that means he's the root of abraham as well okay meaning that he created abraham he created david and you know what abraham is in christ because he believed god and it was encountered him for righteousness so do you see how that that just falls apart you know this whole zionism stuff as far as well you know we need to bless israel because you know we need to bless those that bless them what them you know no if you if you get actually what the bible says is to abraham specifically now would it be wrong for the king james to say you or for it for that to be listen that's our modern vernacular you know to have you for singular or plural i'll say this it's not as precise and galatians would uh show you how that should be singular right it would it would help you there right but i love that that we have a king james bible that uses thee thou thine uses that singular pronoun by the way a lot of languages still do that okay where they have a singular uh second person pronoun okay now a lot of them when they get into they're just trying to be more um uh formal or informal they'll like drop it and they'll just use one of them right i think spanish is that way right where there's like formal is the singular or no i'm sorry uh formal is the the plural use and you know the singular use is like the informal use or something like that of like you and so but that being said uh it's very clear here that the gospel is is that christ is going to bless all nations how by believing on him those that believe on christ those that are that are that are of faith are of that seed and are blessed with faithful abraham okay so in your study go through genesis and every single time that god says that he's going to bless abraham and his seed those blessings apply to you as a believer because we're not second-class citizens when it comes to the household of god we're fellow citizens with saints okay so i don't care who you are jew gentile barbarian cithian you know american american um we're all in that family and we're all in christ okay as believers obviously if you believe on christ go back to galatian chapter 3 and verse 10 so i wanted to kind of uh get the the zionism stuff yeah you know basically addressed uh you know it in there i i believe it was sluder who's who's stating that when it says the the scripture for seeing that he would justify the heathen uh through faith preached before the gospel unto abraham he said well you know it's saying that he preached before the gospel before there before the gospel existed right so stupid okay anybody i don't think anybody's ever read that to think like that wasn't anything other than that he preached before like like unto abraham before time like back then he preached the gospel unto him okay that we're talking about back then and not the fact that he's saying well he preached to abraham before there was a gospel before the gospel existed right and uh and anyway it doesn't it doesn't work out it's funny because the word like preached in this you know has a pre the prefix means before okay it's like pre you know like a prerequisite right you know the word pre that you put on something it's like a it's a it's a uh a suffix right is it suffix or prefix yeah i should have already known that it's a prefix to the word okay so that being said you know he's an idiot and he is a complete zionist him and bill grady are out the lunch and they're the ones saying that we are out the lunch because we believe that the old testament was replaced by the new testament uh when it says that he taken away the first and he may establish the second call it take away theology or whatever you want to call it but yes the old testament has been done away with new testament is forever and everlasting galatians 3 and verse 10 here this is where he's really going to hit it on the head that paul paul's hitting it on the head that you're not saved by works okay so i love this chapter because first of all it hits on the fact that hey you didn't begin by doing good works how do you think you're gonna stay saved by doing good works and that's usually what we're out trying to defeat out when we're out soul winning is the fact that listen you get saved by faith but you don't stay saved by doing good works okay it's it's just you're saved okay it's not the works aren't involved in this any portion but in verse 10 here it says for as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse so when people are trying to get there by their good works they're under a curse meaning that they're not going to make it that way but it's not just you know what they think is you know well that's someone that is just saying that it's it's all by works and that's it okay you know like it's just works no what does the bible say here it says for it is written cursed is everyone that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them but that no man is justified by law in the sight of god it is evident for the just shall live by faith and a lot of the law is not a faith but the man that doeth them shall live in them christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law being made a curse for us for it is written cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree that the blessing of abraham might come on the gentiles through jesus christ that we might receive the promise of the spirit through faith so can anybody read this and think that works are involved in salvation at all now the thing that i want to break down here is that in verse 10 here what is staying here it says for it is written that's actually in deuteronomy 27 okay so if you think that well no it's in the new testament that you're not justified by the law and the old testament you're justified by the law well he's quoting the old testament stating that it can't be by that okay notice what it says in deuteronomy 27 verse 26 now in your homework read all of deuteronomy 27 because there's a lot of cursed be you know this man cursed be the person that does this and all all and it says and all the people shall say amen and it goes down this whole list okay of different sins that you can commit from idolatry to different things okay and he goes through this whole list and then it ends here in deuteronomy 27 verse 26 cursed be he that conform or confirmeth not all the words of this law to do them and all the people shall say amen so when he's quoting this passage you know this passage is being quoted from deuteronomy 27 because i've heard this you know that uh you know the the meninites and the amish they try to say that well you know when it's talking about not by works okay that you're saved by faith and not by works it's not talking about moral law it's talking about customary law okay and it's like customary like keeping the sabbath you know doing different things you know like that are customary like eating certain things the dietary laws things like that right and they'll say well that's what they're talking about in the new testament it's not talking about like that shall not kill okay or that shall not commit adultery well when you go back to that list it literally has idolatry you know like you know like adultery like all these different things that are in this list that are moral law okay so that falls apart because when you go back to where it's even talking about it it's talking about moral law so yes when we're talking about you're not saved by works we're talking about thou shalt not kill we're talking about thou shall not commit adultery thou shalt not steal thou shalt not covet thou shalt not take the name of the lord thy god in vain you know these commandments are what we're talking about when we're talking about uh you know it's not by that okay because a lot of people think well it's not by helping the old lady across the street it's not by going to church yeah those are all great okay meaning that yeah we should love our neighbor and we should be doing all this but most of the commandments in the bible are negative commandments meaning thou shalt not okay you know what the bible's saying it's not you don't get to heaven by not murdering somebody you don't get to heaven by not committing adultery you don't get to heaven by not stealing okay and i'm not here to condone any of you know breaking any of the commandments what i'm saying stating though is that it's not by that go to uh james chapter two because the bible says in galatians 3 11 it says but that no man is justified by the law on the side of god it is evident for the just shall live by faith that means no one can be justified by the law you know the just are going to live by faith not by the law these are polar opposites because it says in the law is not a faith so it's just as much as and if by grace then isn't no more of works otherwise grace is no more grace and if it be of works then isn't no more grace otherwise work is no more work so it's it's one or the other you can't mix the two if you mix the two it's going to be one or the other okay meaning that if you mix works with grace it's going to be it's going to be all works then okay as soon as you taint grace at all with any type of works it's not it's not what it is james chapter 2 and verse 10 this is what i believe galatians 3 10 is talking about so meaning that curse is everyone that continued not in all things meaning that you're cursed unless you continue in all of it you got to do all of it okay you want to go to heaven by being a good person and keeping the commandments then don't mess up at all and if you already messed up then you're done okay so it says in james 2 10 it says for whosoever shall keep the whole law and yet offending one point he is guilty of all so that's what galatians 3 10 is stating is that unless you do all of it you're cursed and here and here's the thing though i want to read the next verse because people take this too far and what they'll say is like well you've told a lie that means that you're a murderer you did this and you you've done everything you know you're just guilty of every sin and you've committed every sin no that's not what's being stated notice what it says here you know it says in verse 10 for and for whosoever shall keep the whole law and yet offend one point he is guilty of all what is the all talking about for he that said do not commit adultery said also do not kill now if thou commit no adultery yet if thou kill thou art become a transgressor of the law it doesn't say that you become an adulterer okay does that make sense it's not saying like you killed somebody which is always funny to me because it puts adultery above murder right as far as being worse do you think it's like well uh you know you didn't you didn't kill anybody but you know now if i'll kill you know it's kind of like it's less it's like you only killed you didn't commit adultery though okay it's like you you would think that murder would be like the one you'd be like well you committed adultery but you didn't murder so you're okay right but it's actually the other way around um anyway all that's saying is that it's not stating that you committed you broke this one commandment therefore you've broken thou shalt not commit adultery thou shalt not you know steal or whatever the case may be he's stating that you're guilty of all meaning you're guilty of the law okay and i've i've seen it likened under this or you know i've heard preachers say it like this that the law is basically imagine the law is hanging by like this big long chain okay and each chain represents a commandment break you break one of those chains does it matter which one you break for that law to fall let's say it's a big book right that's held on by a chain would it matter which link of those of that chain you broke for that to fall doesn't matter right any of them but as soon as you break one of them it's gone does that make sense so that's what it's stating there it doesn't matter if you you broke thou shalt not kill thou shalt not commit adultery thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor doesn't matter any of those that you break you you're guilty you're a transgressed or law okay so yes you want to you want to get to heaven by living a good life good luck okay now go to leviticus chapter 18 because it says in galatians 3 and verse 12 it says and the law is not of faith but the man that doeth them shall live in them so what does that mean that means that if you keep all of them and you don't mess up yeah you'll live i mean that's what the rich rich young ruler came up and said you know i've kept all these from my youth up right and and jesus is basically saying you know you keep all the commandments thou shalt live yeah i mean why wouldn't you have everlasting life why wouldn't you live because the sin you know the wages of sin is death you know sin when it is finished bringing forth death so if you didn't sin why would you die okay so yeah i mean that would be true but here's the problem we're all sinners there's not a just man upon earth that doeth good and sin is not so you have to have be in reality okay but yes technically if you were to do it and this is coming from leviticus 18 verse 5 where it says the man that doeth them shall live in them notice how it's worded when you look at it in leviticus here it says ye shall therefore keep my statues and my judgments which if a man do he shall live in them i am the lord notice that big if there if a man do he shall live in them but that's the problem is no one can because you're cursed unless you keep them all if you offend in one point you're guilty of all right you're you're you become a transgressor you're you're cursed under the law does that make sense and so it's it's stating this fact that yeah i mean if you keep it you can live in it but no one's gonna do it the only the only person there's nothing good on the earth but one that is god so there's none righteous no not one there's nothing to do with good no not one then it states that jesus became a curse for us and this really shows you another way in which it shows that jesus is the propitiation for our sins meaning that he took our place he's the atonement meaning that we were cursed and he became cursed for us okay and i i love how the bible pictures this because it says cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree go to deuteronomy 21 this is where this comes from and the new testament sometimes will liken the cross to a tree well it is made of wood okay so it's it's biblical but it also you know the reason that i believe the new testament is using the term tree is because it's it's falling back to this this passage in deuteronomy and showing that hey he became a curse for us and you know he took that curse upon him because he was made to be sin for us who knew no sin now notice what it says in deuteronomy 21 verse 22 it says and if a man have committed a sin worthy of death and he be put and he i'm sorry and he be to be put to death and thou hang him on a tree his body shall not remain all night upon the tree but thou shalt and any wise bury him that day for he that is hanged is a curse of god and thy land that thy land be not defiled which the lord thy god giveth thee for an inheritance so it's basically saying if you hang a man on a tree that's a curse meaning they're cursed you know and if you don't take it if you don't take them down by night think about that all that think about jesus okay jesus was on you know he was nailed to a cross he hanged on the tree and remember that they're like we need to take him down off the cross right that i mean this fits hand in glove with that but first peter chapter two just to give you one of those places where it uses that that they hanged him on a tree in verse 24 by the way we believe it was a cross not a stake like the jahovah witnesses and you know i guess there are trees that don't have any branches but when you think of like a family tree it's not just going straight up if it is then i guess you are from west virginia you didn't get that if you didn't laugh at that i'm just kidding you're like like man that that hurts i didn't think anybody would anything would hurt tonight more than that no i'm just kidding but obviously um you know a tree you know you think of the cross and the fact that it would represent hurry um now in first peter chapter two and verse 24 it says who his own self bear our sins in his own body on the tree that we being dead to sins should live unto righteousness by whose stripes you were healed he was made a curse for us you know he he it says that uh uh christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law being made a curse for us that's how he redeemed us he took our sins okay he became that curse he was cursed for us and even to the point where his soul was in hell for three days three nights he took our punishment both physically spiritually and he was triumphant over it and it's just another great picture of how he paid for our sins and so this path this passage can you tell why i love galatians chapter three galatians chapter three is just a magnificent chapter okay the whole book of galatians is magnificent but galatians chapter three if i had one chapter you know that i could have like oh if i was in prison you know for preaching the gospel or whatever that i would want to have it's galatians three okay because that's just an amazing chapter galatians three and verse 17 here so this this verse right here a lot of people when it comes to the age of the earth get messed up meaning that the timeline here that you're going to see they get confused okay and they'll say that the earth is younger than it really is now not by much but you know by like hundreds of years okay they all still say it's around six thousand okay but what i'm stating here is that this number of 430 years this verse kind of uh gets people off on how they age the earth a little bit notice in galatians three and verse 17 it says in this i say that the covenant that was confirmed before of god and christ the law which was 430 years after cannot disinall that it should make the promise of none effect you say well what what do they do here well the verse right before that says to abraham and to see where the promise is made then it goes into this verse and what they're stating what they they're saying here is that the law of moses came 430 years after the promise was given to abraham okay that's what they're seeing or what they think this is stating okay and it's just not the case okay and this this would really mess up that that israel was evil and treated for 400 years in egypt okay the bible states this it states this in acts states this in genesis when he's stating it to abraham himself saying it's going to be 400 years of being evenly and treated remember abraham had that like dream where he was just really scared you know it was just very frightened and so 430 years is the the exact amount of time that they were in egypt like the children of israel that they sojourn there to prove that to you go to exodus chapter 12 exodus chapter 12 and verse 40 and then i'm going to explain to you what this passage is stating okay so it's not a contradiction this isn't in their list by the way so i'm not going to be like duplicating this one on sunday sunday afternoon or anything like that um but and and i feel like a lot of times they use this to try to they try to prove something when it comes to aging the earth they want the earth to be less than six thousand years because they want to say like we're like just a few years away from it being six thousand and there's this theory out you know like they have this theory like one day is a thousand years with the lord they're saying well six thousand years of like people being on the earth and then the seven thousand years the seven thousand would be the millennial reign okay it's like you can't just you can't figure fit a square peg into a round hole okay it's clearly over six thousand years okay we're like almost 6500 years when you look at when you add up all the dates and everything okay but that being said is that they're trying to fit a theory into the bible that doesn't fit okay now in uh exodus chapter 12 verse 40 he says now the sojourning of the children of israel who dwelt in egypt was 430 years so you see that it's 430 years that they are in egypt now look at verse 41 and it came to pass at the end of the 430 years even the cell same day it came to pass that all the hosts of the lord went out from the land of egypt not only was it 430 years it was 430 years to the day okay that's not even 430 years in one day or two days it's 430 years to the day the day they went into egypt 430 years to the cell same day they left egypt okay so that's what the bible teaches so let's stick with what the bible teaches and and see what we're talking about well in galatians 3 go to psalm 105 psalm 105 in galatians 3 it doesn't say that it was 430 years after abraham or the promise was given to abraham it says in this i say that the covenant that was confirmed before of god in christ the law which was 430 years after so the law is obviously the law of moses talking about you know exodus the law of moses they're saying that's 430 years after uh it was confirmed before of god in christ now one thing i want to point out here is that is before it was confirmed before of god in christ before the law of moses christ is involved in this do you see that it's confirmed before of god in christ 430 years before the law okay now i believe this is talking about it was confirmed to jacob okay meaning that jacob is the one that went down into egypt right when they went to sojourn in egypt that's when jacob and joseph's whole family went down okay it wasn't abraham abraham was already dead isaac was already dead when they went into egypt okay now in psalm 105 in verse 8 it says he has remembered his covenant forever the word which he commanded to a thousand generations which covenant he made with abraham okay so the company made with abraham and his oath unto isaac and confirmed the same unto who jacob for a law and to israel for an everlasting covenant now for sake of time i don't want you know just because i want to get through the sermon without going over or anything like that in genesis 46 is where i believe that happened god came to uh to jacob by night and told him that he was going to make of him a great nation and he's going to bring them out of egypt okay that's where i believe this confirmation and then 430 years after that is when you have the law okay so that's how that all makes sense go back to galatians chapter 3 and verse 18 galatians chapter 3 and verse 18 so i just wanted to really just kind of point that that number that number's right it's 430 years the children of israel were 430 years exactly in the in the land of egypt and 400 of those years they were evil and treated okay and obviously at the end of that 400 years of being evil and treated it was like with rigor it was really hard bondage okay and that's where moses comes in and all that okay now in galatians chapter 3 and verse 18 notice what it says for if the inheritance be of the law it is no more a promise but god gave it to abraham by promise and this is a theme throughout the new testament where it's stating this fact that it's by promise not by law okay and you know salvation is by promise not by the law the inheritance is by promise not by law go to roman chapter 4 and roman chapter 4 i believe explains this so when you're reading in galatians 3 you're kind of like okay what are we talking about you know what inheritance like what is it what does it specifically mean by this that the inheritance is not of the law you know or if it is by law then it's no more a promise you know what are we talking about here roman chapter 4 and verse 13 i love thunderstorms by the way if you don't like thunderstorms i don't know what to tell you i love thunderstorms i don't want to get hit by lightning but you know i like thunderstorms so unless the power goes out and it gets really hot in here then i'm not gonna like it roman chapter 4 and verse 13 it says for the promise that he should be the heir of the world was not to abraham or to his seed through the law so who do we talk we're talking about abraham and to his seed so we're talking about christ it says that that promise that he should be heir of the world was not to abraham or to his seed through the law but through the righteousness of faith okay so abraham does anyone think abraham was justified by the law okay no it's by faith but keep reading there verse 14 for if they which are of the law be heirs faith is made void and the promise made of none effect sound familiar that christ has become of no effect unto you who serve you are justified by the law you're fallen from grace sounds familiar because verse 15 because the law worketh wrath for where no law is there is no transgression therefore it is of faith that it might be by grace to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed not to that only which is of the law but to that also which is of the faith of abraham who is the father of us all as it is written i have made thee a father of many nations before him whom he believed even god who quickened at the dead and call out those things which be not as though they were so what are we talking about when we're talking about the inheritance is not of the law we're talking about how salvation is by promise that it was given to abraham and to his seed by promise by faith is by the righteousness of faith it had nothing to do with the law the law you know what the law does it condemns the law doesn't save anybody the law only condemns the law is not evil or bad it's just the fact that the law shows you that you're a sinner it doesn't give you life now go to galatian chapter 3 and verse 19 because you may ask the question you know why why was the law of moses given you know what's the point of the old testament and now i would say that you know that there's i believe multiple points for the old testament or multiple reasons for the old testament one you know a lot of a lot of things that were imposed on the israelites were allegorical or pictures of what jesus was going to do right all these sacrifices and all these different things all picture different things that christ was going to accomplish and all that right so there's definitely all that and lessons that can be learned through it but ultimately the law was given to show us that we're sinners okay now people knew they were sinners before the law of moses okay so it's not like people didn't have any type of law we had the law written in our hearts our conscience bearing us witness and that they were without excuse meaning that you still had law you still had moral law before the law of moses but it was it the law was given notice what it says in verse 19 galatians 3 and verse 19 wherefore then serve at the law it was added because of transgression till the seed should come to whom the promise was made and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator now a mediator is not a mediator one but god is one so it's added because of transgression there's a reason why it was added but notice that it says till the seed should come to whom the promise was made do you see how that seed clearly can't be talking about the descendants of abraham because it's saying that moses the law was given till until the seed should come meaning christ okay because the law was given by moses but grace and truth came by jesus christ and the idea here is that the law was added because of transgressions why go to roman chapter 3 roman chapter 3 and verse 19 roman chapter 3 and verse 19 like i said i believe there's multiple reasons why the old testament was established and shown god obviously knew that they wouldn't be able to keep it um you know it's not like it's like oh man they fail i got to get plan b here no you know the land slain from the foundation world jesus was the plan from the beginning you know as soon as man fell it was jesus it was you know christ coming to save us from our sins that was the plan from the very beginning but the old testament was to show how man fails to show how man can't do it how man can't enter intercede man can't be the mediator it has to be god it has to be jesus and that's what it's stating here but notice what it says in roman chapter 3 and verse 19 it says now we know that what things so ever the law says it says to them that are under the law that every mouth may be stopped and all the world may become guilty before god so why was the law moses given so that the every mouth may be stopped and all the world may become guilty before god verse 20 here it says therefore by the deeds of law there shall no flesh be justified in the sight for by the law is what the knowledge of sin so why was the law given is because of transgressions right meaning this is that the law shows us that we're sinners it's it's it basically opens your eyes you know when we go out solving what is the first thing that we're trying to show somebody is that they're a sinner it doesn't take long it shouldn't take that long but most of the time they're like have you ever told a lie before they're like well yeah everybody's told why well the bible says that shall not bear false witness you've committed a sin boom i mean that's the law isn't that one of the ten commandments okay but you could go down the list and give a lot more commandments if you had to right because some times they're like well you know well what what's a white lie you know and they'll try to get out of it and be like well the thought of foolishness is sin have you ever thought about anything foolish before right how about there's not a just man upon earth to do as good and sin if not so why don't you just stop thinking that you're righteous okay and you know it's like the rich young ruler he didn't want to admit that he was a sinner and you can't go anywhere else with that person you can't get someone saved if they won't admit that they need saved okay but in roma chapter seven verse seven you can turn there if you want but roma chapter seven verse seven it says what shall we say then is the law sin god forbid nay i had not known sin but by the law so the law is the knowledge of sin i i had not known sin but by the law for i had not known lust except the law had said thou shall not covet okay so why was the law added it wasn't to save us okay well you could say indirectly okay because obviously the law will like starkly show you you need a savior okay so yes you can say like the law was added for our benefit and for our use but the law can never get us saved meaning you can't save us from our sins because it just shows it just shows us that we're sinners right and then it says that you know it's ordained in the hand of a mediator not a mediator is not a meteor of one but god is one go to first timothy chapter two and verse three first timothy chapter two and verse three we're almost done here um but literally this chapter you could break it down and have whole sermons that have all this stuff right i could i could literally preach a whole sermon about galatians 3 16 you know and and just hit on that for a whole for a whole hour and a half really to be honest with you but uh and in first timothy chapter two and verse three it says for this is a good this is good and acceptable in the sight of god our savior who will have all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth for there is one god and one mediator between god and men the man christ jesus who gave himself a ransom for all to be testified in due time so god is one meaning this is that there's a mediator the man christ jesus who is god by the way but the mediator is between god who is one god and a lot of people does that make sense and that's what's being stated there is that there's a mediator between one god and a lot of people okay so that's what's being stated there in galatians chapter three go back to galatians chapter three and verse 21 in galatians three and in romans where it's talking about like is the law sin god forbid you know the same same kind of questions being brought up here it says in verse 21 is the law then against the promises of god okay so there's nothing wrong with the law there's nothing sinful about the law uh you know the law has its purpose okay but it's got to be the right purpose right people think the law is what saves them and gets them to heaven that's not what the reason for the law is okay notice what it says in verse 21 it says is the law then against the promises of god god forbid for if there had been a law given which could have given life verily righteousness should have been by the law now i'd like to know how any dispensational person thinks that anybody was saved by the law when you have a verse like that in the bible if there had been a law given which could have given life verily righteousness should have been by the law now that should that should defeat any type of work salvation before jesus christ shouldn't it okay and it and let me let me say this if there if there couldn't be a law given which could have given life back then or before the new testament do you think it's going to be after the new testament by the way we just called the everlasting testament the everlasting covenant so by the way it's the everlasting gospel from the foundation world the end of the world it's the same gospel and so i love that verse because it just shows you that no no law can save you if it could have been that way it would have been that way but it's not okay and you think about jesus when he says if there's another way let this cut past from me you know the answer to that question he went to the cross so there was no other way there was no law that could save you there's no other intercession that could save you it was only him that was the only way and praise the lord that he did it and saved us so in verse 22 there so galatians 3 verse 22 it says but the scripture hath concluded all under sin that the promise by faith of jesus christ might be given to them that believe but before faith came we were we were kept under the law shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto christ that we might be justified by faith but after that faith has come we are no longer under a schoolmaster so this really shows you the purpose of the law right the purpose of the law what is it it shows you the knowledge of sin right paul said i didn't know that lust was sin until i saw the law said thou shall not covet right thou shall not covet thy neighbor's wife thy neighbor's house whatever right is lusting after things that don't belong to you and he's saying i didn't know that i didn't know it didn't have the knowledge of sin but it's the schoolmaster to bring us unto christ so when we go out soul winning what do we do we use the schoolmaster right we're showing people you're a sinner the wages of sin is death you have a problem okay you're you're you're gonna go to hell because all liars should have the part in the lake which burned brimstone which is the second death does that make sense you're using the law to bring them unto what faith after you show them that hey you're in that condition they're like yeah you know i would you know i would deserve to go to hell just like anybody else now what do you do you show them believe in the lord jesus christ now shall be saved and that's the over simplistic way of showing it but that's really all you're doing right you're showing you're a sinner you deserve to go to hell jesus paid for it believe on him the law is the schoolmaster to bring you them unto faith now this isn't saying like uh that faith only came when jesus christ came around that would be really ridiculous considering we're just talking about abraham now abraham believed god and was imputed on him for righteousness it's stating that it for anybody right before i got saved i was under the schoolmaster when i got saved i'm no longer under the schoolmaster i'm no under no longer under the law i'm no longer under the curse okay does that make sense i don't need to be under the schoolmaster because i've already been schooled okay does that make sense like you already you already learned christ you already understand the gospel you've already believed the gospel you don't need to know that you need to get saved you already done know you've been saved right because these things have written unto you that believe in the name of the son of god that you may know that you have eternal life we know we're saved we know that we are sinners we already know it okay so there's no need for the that schoolmaster in that in that sense right so uh so hopefully all that makes sense man it is coming down out there isn't it so let's see if uh see if we have any leaks uh last point here is uh you might have noticed that we have some um but uh galatians chapter 3 and verse 26 here it says for ye are all the children of god by faith in christ jesus i use this one out a lot outsolening now i know a lot of you probably use uh john 112 but as many as received him that them gave you power to become the sons of god even to them that believe on his name i use that one too a lot this one's first of all shorter okay but it also says you're all uh the children of god by faith in christ jesus so it's it encompasses everybody so i don't have to be like to the if i'm talking to a woman i'd only be like well that means you too you know like i'm not saying you're gonna become a son of god you know you're obviously a daughter of god if you're a woman but so i use this one out a lot um by the way the bible says in first john 5 1 it says who sort of believe it that jesus is the christ is born of god okay so you're all the children of god by faith in christ jesus who sort of believe that jesus is the christ is born of god obviously if you received him because you believed on his name you become the you have the power to become the sons of god and so all of that is true um all those are great verses to show how we're born again and that we're children of god now are you the sons of god and it does not yet appear what you shall be all those verses are great go to galatians 3 verse 27 here and verse 28 and this is the last part we're going to get to here you're like what about 29 we already hit it okay that goes with galatians 3 16 and the fact that we're in christ and we're abraham's seed but in galatians 3 27 here it says for as many of you as have been baptized into christ have put on christ there is neither jew nor greek there's neither bond nor free there's neither male nor female for ye are all one in christ jesus now i personally believe that this verse is talking about a spiritual baptism that happens the moment you believe okay not water baptism though if you wanted to get baptized we probably just go outside right now but i do believe that this is just talking about spiritual baptism meaning like you're all the children of god by faith in christ jesus and those that are children of god have been baptized into christ and it's basically stating that those that have believed have been baptized into christ and those that have been baptized into christ they have been uh what is what it's stating here is that they have put on christ okay meaning that spiritually speaking you have put on the new man you're a new creature in christ you have christ in you the hope of glory like all these promises all these things that are going on there but to show you this go to first corinthian chapter 12 first corinthian chapter 12 in verse 13 might wait a little bit until we leave so after the service here so first corinthians chapter 12 verse 13 it says for by one spirit are we all baptized into one body so i i want i want to state this in both galatians 3 27 or in in first corinthians 12 13 do you see anything about water here okay i don't see anything about water now there's plenty of places where baptism and it's talking about they found there was much water they went into the water they came up out of the water and there's a lot about water and i'm not taking that away obviously you know you get saved you should get baptized in water but we're talking about for by one spirit are we all baptized into one body whether we be jews or gentiles whether it be bond or free and have been all made to drink into one spirit this is very spiritual okay i don't believe this is talking about you're drinking into one spirit you're baptized by one spirit so this is a spiritual baptism that happens i preached a whole sermon on this actually uh dealing with the doctrine of baptisms plural there's the doc there's baptism the spiritual baptism there's water baptism there's baptism of the holy ghost there's baptism of fire which praise the lord we're not going to be in that one but there's different types of baptisms that the bible talks about this one i believe is talking about the spiritual baptism happens when you get saved colossians 2 11 go to colossians 2 11 just to show you that that when you get saved you're actually baptized with him roman chapter 6 will show you that too but for sake of time i'm just going to show you colossians 2 here and then we'll be done you can go out to the storm colossians 2 verse 11 it says in whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands and putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of christ buried with him in baptism wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of god who hath raised him from the dead so when you're talking about you know what do you think elatians 3 26 and 27 is talking about i believe that that's what it's talking about that you're buried with him in baptism wherein you're you are raised with him through the faith of the operation of god meaning that it's by faith that you're born again but it's by faith that you're born of the spirit right it says that you know that a man must be born again that was just born of the flesh is flesh and that was just born of the what the spirit is spirit and so when you get saved you're born of the spirit you're you're you're you're buried with him into one by one spirit and you know all that happens the moment you believe okay it's just stating the facts of it um but uh that's galatians 3 and uh awesome chapter i can't do it any justice meaning like uh i could be here all night talking about this chapter but uh one with the word of prayer we thank you for today thank you for the book of galatians specifically thank you for this chapter and what a powerhouse of a chapter this is and lord just prayed you'd help us to understand it and to use it lord uh out soul winning and just every everywhere and just obviously our bible studies uh to know the these verses these passages to help us know doctrine and lord we love you and pray to give us safe travels uh with the rain and everything i pray that with stops that we can get on get on the road and get home safely and lord we love you and pray us in jesus christ name amen all right brother nick will come say one more song and then we'll be dismissed all right turn to song number 116 we would all stand we'll sing 116 he leadeth me song number 116
