First Timothy chapter five, the Bible reads, rebuke not an elder but entreat him as a father and the younger men as brethren, the elder women as mothers, the younger as sisters with all purity. Honor widows that are widows indeed, but if any widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to show piety at home and requite their parents for that is good and acceptable before God. Now she that is a widow indeed and desolate trusteth in God and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day, but she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth, and these things give in charge that they may be blameless. But if any provide not for his own, especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith and is worse than an infidel. Let not a widow be taken into the number unto threescore years old, having been the wife of one man, while reported of for good works, if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saint's feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she diligently followed every good work. But the younger widows refuse, for when they have begun to wax wanton against Christ, they will marry, having damnation because they have cast off their first faith. And with all they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house, and not only idols, not only idle but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not. I will, therefore, let the young women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion of the adversary to speak reproachfully, for some are already turned aside after Satan. If any men or women that believeth have widows, let them relieve them, and let not the church be charged, that it may relieve them that are widows indeed. Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially they who labor in the word and doctrine, for the Scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn, and the laborer is worthy of his reward. Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses. Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing but partiality. Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins, keep thyself pure. Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake, and thine often infirmities. Some men's sins are opened beforehand, going before to judgment, and some men they follow after. Likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand, and they that are otherwise cannot be hid. Let's pray. Dear Lord, thank you for this day, thank you for this opportunity to gather for the preaching of your word. I just ask that you would fill a pass from here with your spirit now, and please help us be attentive and be edified. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Amen. Okay, we're in 1 Timothy chapter number 5 this morning, and look down at your Bibles at verse 24. It says here, some men's sins are opened beforehand, going before to judgment, and some men they follow after. Verse 25, likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand, and they that are otherwise cannot be hid. And the title of the sermon this morning is Your Time Will Come. Your time will come, and I'll explain to you what I mean by that in just a moment. Now here in 1 Timothy chapter 5, the Apostle Paul is giving Timothy some instructions, some important instructions. First and foremost, the greatest portion of the chapter is dealing with widowhood, and giving some instructions and admonitions regarding that. And then he spends some time on how to treat a pastor, how to honor a pastor. But then towards the latter end of the chapter, he begins to give some nuggets of instruction that seem a little out of context, but they're actually really important nonetheless. Look at verse 20. It says in verse 20, them that sin rebuke before all that others may fear. So he says, hey, look, when you are pastoring this church, when you're preaching the Word of God, there's going to come times when you have to rebuke someone openly before everyone so that others may fear, okay? You know, when someone commits a grievous sin that merits excommunication or merits rebuke or correction, you need to make sure you get up before the church, you rebuke that individual so that others who are tempted to do the same may fear and not do it. You understand? It's basically a deterrent. Make them a public example in order to deter them from usurping authority, causing division, or doing anything of the like. He says in verse 21, I charge thee therefore, I charge thee before God and the Lord Jesus Christ and the elect angels, that thou observe these things, preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality. So the next thing he tells them is this, is hey, you need to make sure you're not a respecter of people, okay? You know, and that's a problem today in churches, right? You know, people have a tendency, or pastors have a tendency to be a respecter of people. They show partiality because oh, because someone gives a large amount in the church. You know, they give a large amount, they give to their building fund, and they try to pervert the judgment of the leader, and sometimes the leader allows himself to be deterred in that way. You understand? They say, well, you know, you don't feel that way, aren't you afraid you're going to lose some major tither? I don't know who the major tithers are, and you know what, I don't really care, you know? And just to prove to you that I can care less who's the biggest tither, we threw out apparently our biggest tither out of the church, you know, probably a year and a half ago, and this is a guy who was like the biggest giver, the biggest tither. I didn't know that until afterwards. Someone actually came to me and said, hey, this person actually gave X amount of dollars. I'm like, well, I don't care, you know? And lo and behold, this same individual who got thrown out for that, prior to getting thrown out, came to me with a bundle of money. He said, hey, Pastor, I forgot to give this offering. Can you take this? And I'm like, don't give me that. I don't want to touch that. I don't have any dealings with the finances like that. All I do is deposit the money and that's it. But other than that, he tried to make it seem like, hey, I got all kinds of money, I'm giving all kinds of money, so favor me kind of thing. And obviously, this is not the type of church that you can do that. We're supposed to do everything without partiality, not be a respecter of people because someone gives, not be a respecter of people because we've known someone for X amount of years. We're supposed to have equal judgment, amen, and not say, well, we should show more favor to this individual because they're rich, show more favor towards this person because of their talents or their skill. No, we can't do anything by partiality, not be a respecter of people. And in fact, the Bible tells us in James chapter two and verse one, my brethren have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory with respect of persons. Then he says in verse 22, lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins, keep thyself pure. Now what does it mean when he says lay hands suddenly on no man? This isn't saying like, hey, don't just go around beating people up. When it says laying hands, it's referring to ordaining. And he's telling Timothy, hey, don't just ordain anyone. Don't just be sudden to ordain some individual who hasn't proven themselves. Don't be partaker of other men's sins, et cetera. Verse 23, drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities. Now this is not permission to drink wine as an alcoholic beverages. He's not saying, hey, I preach against drinking alcohol and all that, but you're kind of sick to the stomach. So I'll permit you to drink a little whiskey every now and then. You can drink a little bourbon every now and then. You can drink a little hard liquor every now and then, because it's good for your stomach. This is referring to grape juice. This is talking about grape juice. And here's the proof that this is not referring to alcoholic beverages is because of the fact that later or earlier in 1 Corinthians 5, he tells people to get thrown out if they're involved in drunkenness, which is referring to drinking alcohol. And there's plenty of verses in the Bible that debunk this stupid doctrine that teaches, well, you can drink a little wine for thy stomach's sake. You can just not be given too much wine. You can only drink a little bit in moderation. There's no such thing as drinking alcohol in moderation. Well, he's not saying, you know, he's saying don't be drunk. You can get buzzed though. Folks, if you're buzzed, you're drunk, okay? He's telling them, you know, you can drink a little wine, a little grape juice because of the fact that it has antiviral, antioxidant properties that can help you with your stomach issues, Timothy. And by the way, he's not telling them no longer drink water, period, right? Because obviously he has to drink water. He's just telling them, hey, you need to drink a little bit more wine, a little bit more grape juice just to help you with your stomach issues that you have. So you can see how some of these instructions that he's given him is kind of like out of context, just kind of like random thoughts, random truths, but they have a lot of value in them, right? And then he says in verse 24, some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment, and some men they follow after. Likewise, also the good works of some are manifest beforehand, and they that are otherwise cannot be hid. Now what is this referring to? Well what he's saying here is that some men's reputations actually precede them, okay? Whether good or bad. That's why he says some men's sins are open beforehand. In other words, some people come to church and you already know that they've had a rough past, okay? Or some people you just know their mistakes, their failures, their sins, their heresies, they're known beforehand, okay? Before coming to judgment, and then he says in some men they follow after. Some people you don't know what kind of person they really are until afterwards, okay? And then on the flip side of that, he says in verse 25, likewise, also the good works of some are manifest beforehand. Some people, their reputation precedes them because they've done good works in the past. They've done great works. God has used them in a great way. They have a godly reputation. People know who they are. And then it says, and they that are otherwise cannot be hid. And so the second group there that we see in verse 25 is the individuals who are righteous people, but you know, they don't really have a reputation yet. They have to wait a little bit, they have to build up their reputation, they have to build up their portfolio, so to speak, in order for people to know who they are kind of thing, okay? And so that's what this is referring to, and I believe that this can be broken up into four categories. And I want to go over these four categories this morning. And just as a reminder, the title of the sermon is Your Time Will Come, and it will make sense as we go through this passage here. Category number one that it's referring to that we can apply from this is that it's referring to wolves, okay? Now what are wolves? Now I'm not referring to the animals. I'm referring to the biblical term of wolves, referring to false prophets, infiltrators, okay, devils. These are people who are not sheep, okay? And by the way, I'm sick and tired of seeing on social media people saying stop being dumb sheep as though being a sheep is bad, right? We're God's sheep, you know? But this is the problem with the woke crowd, where they want to demonize everything that the Bible actually teaches, it's like, oh, don't be dumb sheep, don't be a sheep, don't just follow. Hey, we're supposed to follow the Lord Jesus Christ. I'm glad to be a sheep. What are you, a wolf? Because that's the only alternative, or a goat, and that's really not good, right? That means you're just not saved at all. But category number one are the wolves. These are the false prophets, the infiltrators, the wicked individuals who seek to infiltrate a church to cause confusion, disruption, and division, okay? And that's what he says. He says, some man's sins are known beforehand. So these wolves, notice that I didn't say wolves in sheep's clothing. I'm just talking about wolves. Wolves in wolves' clothing, okay? Now go to Acts chapter 20, if you would, hold your place there in 1 Timothy. I'm going to read to you from 2 Peter chapter two, verse one, excuse me, but there are false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, privileged shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them and bring upon themselves swift destruction. Look at Acts chapter 20 and verse 28. Now we live in a biblical society today where it's like pastors think that, well, false prophets existed in the Bible, but they're not going to exist in my church. This is something from biblical times. This is something for like the book of Acts. This is something that Jesus and the apostles had to deal with. We don't have to deal with those things today, but folks, that is so stupid and such a wrong way of thinking because false prophets exist today. He says there shall be false teachers among you, okay? Now here's the thing is that they're going to seek to infiltrate our church. They're going to seek to teach a false doctrine, a false way of salvation, a false way of doing church, and I don't think my responsibility is to look for the false prophet in our church, okay? I don't think that's anyone's responsibility because then you start suspecting everyone and if they don't line up exactly how you are, you start, you know, thinking that everyone's an infiltrator, everyone's a false prophet, and I don't believe that's the attitude that God wants us to have, okay? So what are we going to do? If you're saying that false prophets will infiltrate one day, if they're going to come into the flock of God, and so, you know, how are we going to know? Well, this is how we know. They just manifest themselves. But even prior to that, the way you fix this issue is by teaching God's people the right doctrine. Look what the Bible says in Acts 20, verse 28. Take heed therefore unto yourselves and to the flock over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers. Look what it says, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock also of your own self, shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. So Paul, as he's leaving the church at Ephesus, he's telling the leaders, hey, you need to make sure that you feed the flock of God, you teach the right doctrine, you teach them the truth, you help condition their mind to be in alignment with God's word. So when some false prophet comes into the church trying to spread heresy, the sheep, the flock, they just reject it. And they go ride them out. Like this is false, let me just go ahead and tell pastor about this. Okay. That's what he's saying. So it's not my job to point people out and, is John a false prophet? I don't know, man. This guy, he's a little smooth too many times, you know what I mean? A little soothsayer right here, you know? Is Moses a false prophet, man? You know, what's going on with this guy? Looks a little suspicious. He said something funny the other day, you know what I mean? That's not our job. Our job is to feed the flock of God, teach God's people the right doctrine, and then what happens is their antennas are up when they hear some heresy. And look, folks, we've only been around for three years, but this has already happened multiple times. When you hear some heresy, they're just like, whoa, I need to go tell pastor about this. And just to let you know, if you believe something different in our church, and you think you can just go around and spread heresy and stupidity in our church, just know this. People are going to rat you out like that. They're going to snitch you out. Because it always happens that way. Because the pastor is taught not to tolerate heresy and false doctrine. Feed the flock of God which are among you. Don't try to expose them and point them out. Just feed the church, and the church will notice, examine, and determine, okay, this person is saying some weird stuff, some heresy, I need to go to the leadership about this, and then we go to that person. So some of these people are so open about how devilish they are, their sins are open beforehand. In other words, their wickedness precedes them. Or you even have to judge them, they're well established that they're wicked, all right? Now what is a biblical example of this? The Pharisees. So the people in the book of Acts, they already knew that the Pharisees were false prophets, because their sins were open beforehand. They look at the Pharisees like, oh, these are the guys who crucified Jesus, you understand? So it wasn't like, oh, man, I wonder if the Pharisees are, maybe they're righteous people, it's just like, no, Jesus, do you remember that sermon in John chapter eight, verse 44? Do you remember what Jesus said to the Pharisees? He says, ye are of your father the devil, and the lust of your father will ye do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth. When he speaketh a lie, speaketh of his own, for he is a liar and the father of it. What does that mean? It means their sins were open beforehand. Do you remember what John the Baptist said when he said, ye are a generation of vipers? He's calling them children of the devil. And so by this time, most believers knew that the Pharisees were false prophets. They were wicked people, they crucified the Lord. Their reputation as false prophets preceded them. They already knew that. Now what's a modern day example of this? Well how about this, Mormons? I mean, do I really need to tell you that Mormons are a cult? Do I really need to teach you that Jehovah's Witnesses are a cult? Do I really need to tell you that, you know, give me a false cult out there. La Luz del Mundo. I mean do I really need to teach you and say, hey man, you got to be careful with La Luz del Mundo. Like if you get carried away with that stuff, it's like you kind of deserve to be carried away with that stuff. Or you don't really believe the Bible in the first place. That's like elementary stuff, it's like, do I need to tell you that you need to beware of the wolf, right? The Mormon, the Jehovah's Witness, hey do I really need to tell you, as independent fundamental Bible-believing Baptists, that Pentecostalism is wicked? That they teach you can lose your salvation? Do I really need to tell you that Pentecostalism teaches that you can speak in tongues in some heavenly language which no man can understand and how stupid and foolish that is? Do I need to tell you that? No, because you believe the Bible, right? I don't have to teach Baptists about these things because Pentecostal's sins are open beforehand. And all you have to do is YouTube a Pentecostal service, and be like, this is a circus. What are they doing? They're like running around, doing laps, speaking in tongues, some devilish language, talk about their prophesying of things to come. They have women pastors, how about that? I mean folks, as soon as you click on a video, you see a woman behind the pulpit, you should exit out already. Oh, Thyatira. Oh, they got a Jezebel behind the pulpit. Right? Their sins are open beforehand, we already know about them, right? So it's not necessarily the wolf that, oh how about this, Judaism. I don't think we need it, I mean, I take that back, some Baptists need to be taught that Judaism is wrong, but a church like ours does not need to be taught that. There's no such thing as a Maisianic Jew, folks. We don't need, I don't need to teach the church, hey, don't reference Jewish encyclopedias, fables, to try to learn things about God. They hate the Lord Jesus, they say blasphemous things about him, they say that he's burning in hell in his own excrement. They're wicked people, okay? And so we don't need, I don't need to teach the church, hey, Judaism, you gotta be aware of that. Now we do need to tell our independent fundamental Baptist brethren about that. But that's like a modern day example, okay? Their sins are open beforehand, and before they even knock on the door, you see the white shirts cut off with the little elder, you know, it's not like, huh, I wonder if these people are actual, you know, Christians. It's more like, I'm about to rebuke the fire out of these guys right now. And I rebuke them. When these false prophets come to my door, I let them have it. To the point where one time these Mormons came to my door, and I just screamed their head off, and they were both shaking. They were just like this, and my son came up and was just like, Mom, Dad's rebuking the false prophets. So that's not right, you should try to win them to the Lord. Folks, these people make it their full-time job to damn people to hell. Don't defend people like that, okay? You know, how about this? I don't know what this organization is called, but it's a new thing, and it's these people who try to preach that God is a woman. I mean, you've heard that before. I literally had one of those guys come to my door, and you know, he was dressed regular, and he's like, hey, you know, I'm from so-and-so church, and I was like, okay, what's up? And he was just like, I want to tell you about how God is a woman. That's like the first thing that came out of his mouth. And I lost it. I lost it. And I have like, I live in an apartment, so I have like neighbors around me, but I just let it fly. Because I was so upset that he said that, and he was like, you're a Christian? You're talking to me like that? I was like, I'm actually a pastor. And I just let him have it, and he was just like, he just left. You know what I mean? I'm like, get out of this apartment complex right now, before I lose my pastorate, because I become a brawler. So the first category are the wolves. These people, our sins are known beforehand, before they come to judgment. You kind of look at them, and you say, okay, they're standing on the corner. They have hats and briefcases. They walk really slow. Those are Jehovah's Witnesses. We know not to mess with those people. That's not, we're not interested, okay? Category number two are the tares among the wheat. These are the false prophets and infiltrators and devils who you may not even know that they are false prophets, infiltrators and devils. These are the wolves in sheep's clothing. So they come trying to portray as though they're Christian, they believe the Bible, but inwardly they are ravening wolves that desire to destroy and to teach false doctrine. Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment, and some men, they follow after the Bible says. They slip under the radar. Go to 1 John chapter two, if you would, 1 John chapter two. They play the part. Now who's a great example of this in the Bible? Now the example of the wolf whose sins are known beforehand are the Pharisees, right? The disciples looked at the Pharisees and said, these guys are false prophets, but wasn't there someone among them that they didn't know was a devil? Judas Iscariot. They didn't know beforehand that he didn't believe from the beginning. Jesus said in John chapter six verse 70, Jesus answered them, have not I chosen you twelve and one of you is a devil? He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon, for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve. That's the one that actually fooled the apostles, fooled the disciples. They didn't fool Jesus, but fooled everyone else. He was a wolf in sheep's clothing, he didn't believe from the beginning, and of course he's the son of perdition. Look what the Bible says in 1 John chapter two in verse 18. Little children, it is the last time as ye have heard the antichrist shall come. Even now are there many antichrists whereby we know that it is the last time. They went out from us, but they were not of us, for if they had been of us they would no doubt have continued with us, but they went out that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. So John is writing this, and I believe he's writing from personal experience because he's talking about Judas. He was numbered of the twelve, he was the treasurer, he was there with Jesus, but yet he went out to be made what? Manifest that he was not of the twelve, he was not even a believer. And the point that I want to make with this, with category number two is this, is that don't worry if there's an infiltrator in our church. Why? Because first of all there's more of us than there are of them, but number two, eventually they'll manifest themselves. It always happens. Because they can't help but speak the things which they have seen and heard, and the things that they have seen and heard are not biblical things, it's false doctrine, heresy, wickedness. Go to 2 Timothy chapter three. They will be made manifest. They're going to slip up and say something, they're going to cause division, they're going to expose themselves for who they really are. And we've had that already in our church in times past. Where people have tried to make themselves, they have a form of godliness, but they actually deny the power thereof. Look what 2 Timothy three verse five says, having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof, from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with diverse lusts, ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Janus and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth. Men of corrupt minds reprobate concern in the faith, and look what it says here, but they shall proceed no further. For their folly shall be made manifest unto all men, as theirs also was. So just as Janus and Jambres, when they're going toe to toe with Moses, eventually everyone knew, okay these guys are phonies. They were going to do like the first three miracles, but after that they couldn't replicate anything else. In like manner, those who infiltrate churches will be the same. You're going to be able to see, okay these guys are phonies. They don't really believe, they have false doctrine, they're heretics, whatever it may be. Now here's the thing with this category here, you know, obviously sometimes infiltrators have different agendas. Some can be to violate children, some could be to teach false doctrine, or some just come to just cause division. Or they come because they, get this, they come because they actually hate me. Now to you, you're like, what? That sounds crazy, but yeah it's because you're not a reprobate, you're not a false prophet, so you don't understand that. But there's actually people who will come because they hate yours truly, they despise me, so what do they try to do? They try to challenge me and usurp my authority. Now you probably could do that at some old IFP church, because the old IFP churches are filled with like politicians and stuff like that, and they just want to please both sides or whatever. But you can't do that here, because we just have a different philosophy here. And people think they can come and do that because it's like, well he's not going to kick us out, he's not going to kick me out because he doesn't want to lose church members. I will lose every single church member in this building before I ever start believing or accepting some heretic in my church. Yeah but we won't tithe, take your tithe to compromising baptist church then if that's what you want. I don't care about your money, I don't care about your attendance. Now look folks, obviously we want God's people to come to church, we want you to be blessed from the preaching of God's word, we want you to grow and develop relationships, but folks, not at the expense of usurping my authority, or causing division in the church, you understand? And there's people who have done that in times past, where they'll come and make sly remarks against my authority, sly remarks against the pastor, sly remarks against my doctrine, and they try to tiptoe around that, and try to mess around, try to test the waters a little bit to see what happens, and you know what happens is they get the nine and a half shoe out the door. That's not right, well then go find a place where they think it is right, or where you think it's right. This sounds like a dictatorship, I believe every pastor should run their church as a benevolent dictator, right? With benevolence. There's not a deacon board here folks. If you don't like my authority it's not like you can go to, let me get Mark, let me get Pike, let me get Moses, let me get Jose, let's just gather these men and see if we can just boot out the pastor or something like that. Don't work that way. Cause there's no, first of all I haven't even ordained deacons here, but even if I did, that board would not exist, you understand? Let me give you an example of this, we had a person a couple years ago who was teaching some weird, weird stuff, they were teaching like you can stop believing in the real Jesus and still be saved, and just like you can become like a Mormon and like still be saved, you know what I mean, if you believe in the right Jesus in times past. And this guy had the gall to make a YouTube video, rebuking me, and then he came to church and said, hey have you watched my video yet? And look, I was ignorant of the video so I was like, no I haven't watched it, he's like yeah you might want to watch it, you know some good things on there. And the video was like, how long was it, do you guys remember? It was like an hour, it's like an hour long video, I'm like I got to put this on double speed cause the guy's not an orator or anything like that, so I'm watching it, and then I hit pause and I'm like, let me rewind that a little bit, did he just say what I think he said? And he's like mocking me on the video, mocking my doctrine, trying to spread his stupidity and heresy, and then he comes to church the next day, he's like, did you get a chance to watch the video? And I ended up telling him like, so here are your options, you either take down the video and repent, or you can't come back to church, and I'm throwing you out. I said, but either way you're getting rebuked before the entire church. So he didn't take down the video, and I said, I told him, I said, I'm excommunicating you from the church tomorrow, and I'm just going to preach against you, cause I need sermon ideas. And he just gave me a sermon idea, the next day I got up and I just rebuked the fire out of him, called him out, threw him out, and of course he ended up being the devil and joining forces with other devils who hate me, hate our churches, hate our friends, but you think to yourself like, how can a person like do that, isn't that weird? And if you think that, it's because you're just a normal person, cause that's how normal people behave folks. But his folly was made manifest, and we manifested him right outside these church doors, amen? So some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment, and some men they follow after. Some people you think they're just righteous people, they're good people, but then they show their true colors, right? They start showing who they really are, at which point they need to be dealt with immediately. Category number three, now let's get into some positive things here, okay? Category number three is, this is also referring to righteous people with a reputable background. Go back to 1 Timothy chapter five, if you would, 1 Timothy chapter five, and look, back to my old point, I've said this before and I'll say it again, if you can't respect my leadership, if you can't respect who I am as a pastor, then don't come. And if you keep coming, I'm gonna make your church attendance miserable, on purpose, until you leave. You say, why would you do that? Because you're making me miserable by your presence, so I'm just returning the favor. If you wanna make me miserable, and you serve my authority, and criticize me for my leadership and my doctrine, okay, I see that hand, I see that card, and I'm gonna dish it right back out. And I will make it very uncomfortable for you. But you know, if you can't follow the leadership, there's plenty of other Baptist churches you can go to, there's plenty of other pastors out there where you can usurp their authority and punk them and kind of lead them, and they love your money, and they have a building program they need you to give to, or they have something, they're swayed by money or something like that, and you can lead them and threaten them, and they'll do exactly what you tell them to do and all that stuff, there's plenty of churches out there like that. This is just not one of them. So the righteous with the reputable background, look at verse 24, or verse 25, likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand. Oh, I forgot to mention this. So I'm just saying, look, your time will come whoever you are. Forgot the title of the sermon, I was supposed to kind of like slip that in somehow. What does it say when they're gonna be made manifest, in other words it's like, your time will come. And if you're like, man, who's the false prophet, don't worry about it, their time will come. I feel like they're just getting away with things, they're not gonna get away with things, their time will come. Look folks, don't get nervous when someone is like spreading heresy in the church, okay? You know, if someone comes into our church and they believe oneness, don't freak out. Why? Because what are they gonna do if there's like one of them? It's like this one time this guy came and he, you know, people, they had an inkling or suspicion that he might be like a oneness Pentecostal. And one of the guys came up to me and was just like, man, I just don't want this stuff spreading in the church. I'm like, what do you think he's gonna do? I'm just saying, you know, we can't have this spread in the church and what if it, when people started to like believe in this stuff, I'm like, do you think like he has that much influence in our church or something? The guy's a nobody. Folks it's different when one heretic is in our church and everyone believes right doctrine that one heretic is walking on eggshells. First of all, they're not gonna be able to like spread heresies. Secondly, they're just, I'm just telling you that they're afraid. Why? Because they have a bunch of people who believe right. So don't be, don't, don't worry about that. Now obviously we need to deal with it. We need to take care of it, but don't, oh, I just don't know what's going to happen. I just don't want this stuff spreading in the church. It's not going to spread in the church. Is he like some big time name preacher who has influence over people in our church? If it's just like some nobody who no one knows who has zero influence whatsoever, don't worry about it. Just tell him he's wrong and tell him to leave or if he gets it right, then he can stay, but he's not going to spread anything. No one's spreading anything anywhere. Now one thing that people can spread is division and that's why I work diligently in our church to bring unity. Last three years, one of the strongest attributes I believe of our church, other than the doctrine is this, is that we have a lot of unity. We should get that ring, the unity, okay, there's a lot of unity, it's a brotherhood, right? A lot of unity. And so there's a lot of genuine love in the brotherhood to the point where, you know, it's kind of hard to cause division. Almost near impossible. Okay. All right, now let's get to the positive stuff. Likewise also the good works of some, I'm just kidding, so we're talking about the righteous with a reputable background. There's some people that they, you know, their works, their reputation precedes them in a good way. And the people that I think about in the Bible are Peter, James, and John. Peter, James, and John, going through the book of Acts and later on even during Paul's ministry, Paul even said of them, they seem to be pillars in the church. These guys were with Jesus, they won a bunch of people to Christ, they preached great sermons, they did great works for God, like their reputation precedes them. So it's almost as if they came into this thing already with some respect already given to them because they earned it in times past, okay? And that's what it means when it says, likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand. You know, if we have a pastor come here from, for example, from one of our friend's church, you know, if we had Pastor Anderson, Pastor Jimenez, you know, Pastor Thompson, Pastor Shelley, Pastor Robinson, their good works are manifest beforehand. So when they come here, it's just like, whoa, you know, this is Brother so-and-so, this is Pastor so-and-so, you know, these people have done great works in the past, they merit a lot of respect. Now obviously anybody who has the title of a pastor should merit respect, but there are others that because their works are made manifest beforehand, it's like they already had that double honor from people, you understand? Because they've gone through persecution, they preached the great sermons, they fought the good fight, they have a reputation. Go to Philippians chapter two, if you would, Philippians chapter two. Peter, James, and John come to mind when I think of that. And it's for this reason, folks, let me say this, is that people who have earned that respect of being a pastor or a leader of some sort, well let's say more specifically a pastor, you know, I personally believe that you should honor people like that, and you shouldn't just, I know that sounds funny, but, and I mentioned this before, but I need to mention it again, I don't think you should call people like that by their first name. Like Pastor Anderson, I don't believe you should call him Steve. Or hey, I listened to Anderson's sermon. And you know, I know there's people that do that, maybe they don't do it to be disrespectful, but I believe he's a man of reputation, whose works and reputation precedes him, and he has earned that respect for you to call him Pastor Anderson. Now Pastor Steve is not bad, but you know, as long as you have pastor in there. To call him Steve or Anderson, or call Jimenez, RJ, obviously that's disrespectful. You know, oh man, I love Roger's sermon, I love Jimenez's sermon, and a lot of people do that, and I don't think they do it with ill intention, but sometimes, you know, you can come across that way, and I believe the pastor is an honorable thing. Where they earn that reputation to be called a pastor, you understand? You know, oh yeah, Robinson, Robinson's great. Jason Robinson's great. No, it's Pastor Robinson. Or if you want, Brother Robinson, understand? But I mean, if they're a pastor, why not call them a pastor, they've earned that title, okay? I believe that's important, and I know there's people out there that disagree with that, but I think that's important, and let me say this, if you are a young man, you should address the older people in our church as sir and ma'am. That's what I believe. Now maybe I shouldn't have said that, because you're going to say it to a lady, and they're going to be like, are you saying that I'm old? Let's just say this, you know, anybody you should just call sir and ma'am, okay? It doesn't matter how old they are, even if they're really young or something, no. Obviously, if they're younger than you, no, there you go, that's a better one. If they're older than you, okay, and you might be like 20 or something, you know, you should call them sir or ma'am. I don't think you should call someone who's older than you bro. I know that sounds silly, but I think it's true though. I think you should have some respect for people who are older than you. Yes sir, no sir, yes ma'am, no ma'am, it's not like, yes bro, no bro, you know, I think you should be respectful as much as possible, okay? People who have been around the block longer than you, look at Philippians 2.25, yet I suppose it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labor and fellow soldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants, for he longed after you all and was full of heaviness, because that ye had heard that he had been sick. For indeed he was sick nigh unto death, but God had mercy on him, and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow. I sent him therefore the more carefully that when ye see him again, ye may rejoice and that I may be the less sorrowful. So this person Epaphroditus is an important individual, I mean, he put his life on the line. He says in verse 29, receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness, and hold such in reputation. What does that mean? Respect this individual. Epaphroditus almost gave his life for the work of the ministry. He's a righteous person, I, you know, am honoring him, I'm telling you that he's a man of reputation, you should hold such in one in reputation as well, don't, you know, don't think that he's just some average Joe Schmoe, this is an individual who has labored in the Lord, he deserves that respect. First Timothy 5 17 says, let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honor, specially they who labor in the word and doctrine. Now go with me if you would to First Corinthians chapter 15. The fourth category is this, the righteous who is still working on his or her reputation. So you have the Peter, James and Johns, who have been around for a while, therefore they've kind of earned their stripes, you understand? People know who they are, they've labored there, but then you have another, the last category, who are men of God or just righteous people who are still working on their reputation. Now, who comes to mind in the Bible who came later, but became a man of reputation? Paul, right? Paul was someone who came later and was working on his reputation, in fact he had a bad reputation in times past, people were actually afraid of him because he used to persecute the church of God, he wreaked havoc the Bible says, okay, and it got to a point that even when he got saved and they tried to bring him to the disciples, they're just like, oh, I don't know about this guy, and Barnabas had to come and say, hey, the guy believes right, he's solid, he's a legitimate person, he's serving the Lord, he preaches mightily, and had to kind of back him up. And you know what, even thereafter, people didn't really esteem him much, so you know what he did? He just kind of went off on his own and just started building his own reputation, okay? And this is great, and this is what it says in 1 Timothy 5, 25, it says, likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand, like Peter, James, and John, and they that are otherwise cannot be hid. Now what does that mean? Well, if he's talking about the good works of some are made manifest beforehand, he's saying, look, if you are a person, a godly individual, you're working for the Lord, you don't have to tell people that you're a person of reputation, people just know it. Can't be hid. Your works cannot be hid. Your reputation will precede you one day. You don't have to boast of who you are, of the works that you do, it'll just come to pass and people will just know it. And let me just say this, there's certain people in our church, certain men in our church, that their reputation is building. And people know them. They're like famous in the camp, so to speak, where, can you go a little faster? I'm just kidding. Can you pick it up a little bit, please? There's people that if you drop their name to someone in our church, who's been in our church, they're like, oh yeah, so and so, that person's a hard worker. So and so is a blessing. So and so is godly. So and so loves the Lord. And it's not because so and so came to so and so and said, hey, just to let you know, I read my Bible today. Let you know you see all these wonderful works that I've done. Now if you could go ahead and spread that a little bit in the church, I'd appreciate that. No, it's just that, like the Bible says, they that are otherwise cannot be hid. The Bible says, let your light still shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father, which is in heaven. So when you're letting your light shine, it's like you can't really hide that. It's not something that can be hidden. It's not something that can be covered, necessarily. The brighter it shines, the more people are going to recognize that this person is a laborer or a blessing, so on and so forth. Okay. And again, a good example of this is the Apostle Paul, look at first Corinthians 15 verse seven. After that, he was seen of James, then of all the apostles. And last of all, he was seen of me also as one born out of due time. For I am the least of the apostles. He's basically saying like he's basing himself and saying, I'm not like Peter, James and John. These guys were actually with Jesus. He says, for I am the least of the apostles, then I am not meant to be called an apostle because I persecuted the church of God. He's humble. But by the grace of God, I am what I am. And his grace, which was bestowed upon me, was not in vain. But I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God, which was with me, therefore, whether it were I or they, so he preached and so ye believed. So he's basically saying, look, I came later, but what happened with him? He actually did more later on and built his own reputation. So this is the message today to those of you who are in this category right here. Your time will come. You don't have to boast of your gifts or how great you are or how you're some great one. Your time will come if you're doing that which is right. You don't have to try to prove to people how much you know the Bible, how Godly you are, what a great soul winner you are, how many people you've won to the Lord, or you don't have to give your resume to people. Your time will come. You're like, man, I'm laboring, I'm working, I'm trying to do my best to serve the Lord, you know, and yet here I am still, you know what I mean? Like I have goals in my life, I want to be a pastor one day, I want to be a missionary one day, I want to do something great for God one day. Well, here's the thing, your time will come because you cannot be hit if you are a legitimate person who is laboring for the Lord, okay? Your time will come. And let me give you some final points, go to 1 Timothy chapter number 6. You're like, man, Mark was getting married, and now John's married, and I'm still single, I'm still looking for a spouse, this is family time, okay? I'm still single, I'm looking for a spouse, I feel like I'm serving God, and it's just saying, what's going on? Hey, your time will come. If you're doing that which is right, your time will come. Man, but I just feel like I'm getting the short end of the stick and the raw deal here, and I'm just, you know, I feel like I'm serving the Lord, but it's not in vain. Serving the Lord is never in vain. Your time will come. And here's the thing, let's use Marcos, let's gossip about Marcos since he's not here, okay? Let me see Marcos, I'm like, oh man, you know, he just got married, like, he just, oh, just came out, just, you know, a year later. Yeah, but here's the thing though, you don't know some of the arduous things that he had to go through to get to that point. And those of you laughing, you know exactly what I'm talking about because you've been here long enough. He went through some pretty difficult times. I'll put it this way, he went through so many difficult times that some of the people in our church were like, they felt bad for Marcos, they were just like, man, this poor guy's been through a lot, he's been through a lot. And even prior to that, I mean, Marcos has been, I've known Marcos for 10 years. And in the 10 years that I've known Marcos, he just faithfully, has faithfully served the Lord. And you know what, I guarantee you there was a time in Marcos' life 10 years ago, seven years ago, eight years ago, when he just thought to himself like, man, I'm just serving God, and everyone's succeeding, or everyone's being promoted or whatever, but you know what? You know what God was telling us? Your time will come. And his time came. So don't envy someone like that or think, well, it's just an overnight success or something like that. A lot of that stuff took time. You know, people, for example, look at myself or our church, like, man, how did you guys just grow like that? But they don't see all the sufferings that came 15, 14 years ago, up until this point. They don't see the process leading up to the product. They don't see the time of prayer and Bible reading and sufferings and persecutions and training. They don't see those things. They just see the product. And here's the problem. Sometimes people see the product and they're just like, this is what I want. All right, your time will come. But you also need the process to go to get that product. And so those of you who feel like, well, you know, I'm just fed up with this, your time will come. What do you need to do? Well, your time will follow after when you follow after godly virtues. Looking for Timothy 6 11, but thou, O man of God, flee these things and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith. You knew you should be doing single man preparing for marriage, following after righteousness, getting into the spiritual battle, into the spiritual fight, learning how to grow up and mature to become the husband that you need to be. Stop acting like a child. Stop acting like a teenager. I am a teenager. Stop acting like one. That's a double whammy against you. It's bad enough you're actually a teenager. You're acting like one too. Folks, back when I was a teenager, which was many, many eons ago, I couldn't wait to become like an adult. When I was 13, I'm like, man, I hate being 13. I want to be a grown man. I want to have a wife. I want to have kids. I want to have responsibility. I want respect. But today that's not the case. Today we have the Toys R Us generation. They don't want to grow up. They want to be a Toys R Us kid. They want to keep playing with video games and not grow up and not mature. Look, we need to follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and meekness. What happens is that your success will follow after. But just remember this, it takes time to build a reputation. Can't force it. It takes time. Today's consistency takes faithfulness, and it doesn't take you telling other people about how godly you are. Don't boast of yourself. But let me say this. With this point, it takes years. Are you telling me it's going to take like 10 years like Marcos? I mean, it might. Well, I don't know about that. Then what's your motive for serving the Lord then? Because I thought we were in this for the long haul. I thought we were in this until we die. I thought we were in this no matter what happens to us. Whether we get what we want, right? We should just serve the Lord because he deserves our service because we love God, and no matter what happens, we build and don't become like that individual who was not able to build and people mocked him because of it. He didn't count the cost. Build no matter what. Don't have some stipulation, well, you know, I'll keep serving God as long as he provides me a pastor of a husband, or I'll keep serving God as long as God gives me just a beautiful wife, I'll keep serving God until, you know, unless, you know, he doesn't give me that job that pays X amount of dollars. Don't put any stipulations on God's will, just serve God. And whatever you get, I promise you, you'll be happy with it. Why? Because the Bible says that the blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich and he addeth no sorrow to it. God short changes no man. It's not cheap with his blessing, folks. You know, I'm like, all right, man, you put in all this work, all this service, see what I got here, I got some quarters, here you go, but keep loving me, all right? Keep sacrificing. Folks, God's not that way, but let me say this is that you should serve God no matter what happens, no matter what happens. When we started this church, we started with 30 plus people, and you know what my attitude was? Well, if this stays 30 people, then thank God. I guess we'll just have 30 people. You know what? At least I get to preach. At least my family gets to go to a good church. At least it's family integrated, you know? At least I can preach against faggots, which is great. Even if it's towards 30 people, it's going to be awesome. Have a low expectation because when you get something better than that, you'll be more grateful. That's not to say obviously you want to pray and dream big and all that. That's not at the exclusion of those things, but just know this, it takes time to build a reputation. It takes years, but let me say this, it can take just a moment to ruin it though. It takes decades to build a reputation, and it takes but a moment to completely tarnish it. And lastly, don't boast of your works, just work. Don't boast of who you are, just be who you are. Don't try to convince people of how godly you are, how much you know. Just do what you're supposed to do, and people will know. The Bible says in Joshua 4.14, on that day, the Lord magnified Joshua on the side of all Israel, and they feared him as they feared Moses all the days of his life. In 2 Timothy chapter 3, when Paul is speaking of the reprobates, he says, their folly shall be made manifest. And he says, but that was known my doctrine and my manner of life, my persecutions. He's like, they'll be made manifest, but you know what? I've been made manifest too. Yeah, I came at the latter end, I used to be a Pharisee, I persecuted the church of God, but you know who I am now. You know my doctrine, you know my works, you know the people that I've gotten saved, you know my persecutions, you know my afflictions, you know everything that I've gone through. And it's not because he imposed it upon people, it was just made manifest of who he was. Your time will come. Learn patience, learn long suffering, but I'm telling you, you need to be faithful and consistent and just don't put any stipulations on the will of God. Just say whatever happens, happens. I just want to be consistent, I want to keep serving God, I want to be a blessing in my church, and my works will follow after. Amen? Spire heads that have a word of prayer, Father, we thank you so much for your word, and thank you Lord for the examples of people who are of reputation, such as Peter, James, and John. But I'm also thankful for Paul, the apostle Paul who came later on, and he had a lot going against him, he was going against the grain, he didn't have a good reputation, in fact the Bible says that he was a blasphemer, he was a jurist, and he persecuted the church of God and wreaked havoc, but yet you used him so greatly, you magnified Paul so much because of his works, and he labored so much, and I pray that that would be an encouragement to someone here to recognize that their time will come, but they need to make sure that they follow after righteousness, they follow after that which is godly, that they keep trucking along, they just keep doing what they're supposed to be doing in the midst of difficulty and trial, and not try to put any deadlines or stipulations on the will of God, just take whatever you can get, we deserve help, that's actually what we deserve, and so because we're saved, anything above that is just great, it's the cherry on top, and I pray God that you continue to bless us Lord, raise more leaders, and magnify the people in our church, in Jesus' name we pray, amen.
