That's how terrifying the coming of the Lord is Well, they would rather have a mountain fall on top of them just to hide them From the wrath of the Lamb verse 17 says for the great day of his wrath is come and who shall be able to stand and the answer is nobody and You can't hide from Jesus Christ at that point You know, oh, what were you saying in the comment section again? Who's dead just they just can't be found or something by God he knows where everyone's at and People will make up such a big deal about cremation and again. I'm not for cremation. I think it's an unbiblical practice I think every believer should be buried in the ground because it signifies a seed being planted into the ground And it's gonna come out a resurrected body. That's the purpose of being buried Okay But people make a big deal about the whole cremation thing. Do you understand that people have died? Thousands of years ago there, but dust already right So God has the capability of resurrecting So we have this the the first group of the resurrection at the second coming of Christ these are all the people have died throughout history, they're going up and Let me just explain something. It's the bodies that are going up their spirit are not in their bodies We don't believe in soul sleep Okay, so sleep is a false doctrine because the Bible teaches to be absent from the bodies to be present with the Lord So if you're to die at this moment your carcass remains here, but your spirit goes straight to heaven to be with the Lord Okay You say well Then where are the spirits of those who have died in Christ at this point well the Bible specifically says at first Thessalonians 4 That Jesus Christ shall bring them with him And then the bodies come up they meet and then they receive their resurrected body Okay We're talking about the manner of the rapture and the manner of the rapture is the dead in Christ Shall rise first and when we talk about the dead in Christ we're not referring to Methodists Lutherans And you know people who are just just lacking any zeal for the Lord We're talking about those who are saved who have died in times past and they're awaiting the resurrection And by the way, this is one of the reasons why you know preterism is false Because what does preterism teach teach well preterism is actually found in the Bible You know those people who are teaching preterism in the Bible and the Apostle Paul talked about those who talked that the resurrection has passed already And they overthrow the faith of some Resurrection is not past my friends. Oh It's a spiritual you think everything is just spiritual Jesus Christ resurrected bodily So We need to shun profane and vain babblings look at verse 17 He says then so after the dead in Christ rise After they've come out of the graves and the oceans and different parts of the world and they meet their spirit in the air and they Are transfigured before our very eyes at that point it says then we which are alive and remain This is after the tribulation after the persecution after the killing of Christians Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and So shall we ever be with the Lord? So don't ask me how long the first one takes because I don't know You know, it's I will say this though. It's very noisy. I Guarantee you that the sky shall be saturated with believers Okay, and I guarantee you that whoever's persecuting Christians at that moment. They're not persecuted. No, but they're just like What in the world is going on here now you can see why men's hearts are failing them for fear During this time, it'll be the highest percentage of heart attacks in my opinion Because they're just there and all these bodies are just coming out of the ground They're just shooting up and they're just flying right and it's not even over yet So once that happens then it's just like see a suckers and then then it's our turn This is then we go up we caught up we are raptured at that point So those who are alive and raptured or excuse me, those who are alive and remain are raptured on sight. Okay, so And you say which one should I shoot for it doesn't really matter Okay, obviously we would all want to see Christ with our very own eyes in our body But it's a possibility that might not happen in either case. We are gonna see Christ But obviously I think it would be really cool though to be able to make it to that point and You're being persecuted you're being chased You're being you know, people are trying to kill you and you're just at that very last moment and then Christ comes It's like oh man. I made it to the very finish line I'm able to see the second coming of Christ with my very eyes and at that point I said shoot me Go ahead Go ahead. Shoot me like he's already here. You're toast dude. You are so toast I'm gone. Like I'm going home to be with the Lord Go to 1st Corinthians chapter 15 1st Corinthians chapter 15. We're talking about the manner of the rapture We see that it's a very public event a cosmic events a wrathful event We see that the dead in Christ are resurrected first then those who are alive and remain are raptured on sight thereafter And we also see that both the bodies of the dead in Christ and those that remain are upgraded So this is a very important aspect of the rapture Resurrection and that is that we are transfigured. We're given a new body We are given an upgrade, right? This is taught extensively in 1st Corinthians chapter 15. Look at verse 41 if you would verse 41 It says there is one glory of the Sun another glory of the moon another glory of the Stars for one star differth from another star in glory He says so also is the resurrection of the dead it is sown in corruption It is raised in incorruption now notice the phrase sown, right? When do we use that type of word when we are sowing seeds? You sow a seed and it comes out something completely different You know, we don't sow an apple seed and just a giant seed comes out something completely different comes out of the ground and Likewise it is with the resurrection It's sown in corruption because we have this corruptible body this sinful body that has fleshly appetites sinful appetites But then it's raised in incorruption sinless He says in verse 43 it is sown in dishonor. It is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness It is raised in power. It is sown a natural body. It is raised a spiritual body There is a natural body and there is a spiritual body and so it is written that the first Adam was made in living Soul the last Adam was made a quickening spirit skip down to verse 15 He says now this I say brethren that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God Neither does corruption inherit in corruption So in other words what this is saying is that the purpose of the rapture in the resurrection is to make us capable of standing before God Because we can't just stand before God in our present form because we're sinful we have corruptible flesh God is holy right so therefore we need an upgrade To our system that comes through our faith in Jesus Christ in order to be completely sinless now. Why is this important? I'll tell you why because there's a false gospel out there That tries to teach that once you get saved you should never sin or you never sit You just will never say and if you sin you're not really saved oh You'll obey all of God's commandments perfectly you're gonna obey the Lord perfectly you're just gonna come with batteries included What are they trying to do? They're trying to get the resurrection without Christ But folks that doesn't happen until the resurrection when we get saved our spirit is perfect our spirit is sinless But we still have this corruptible flesh, which is sown into the ground and raised and in corruption He says in verse 51 behold. I show you a mystery We shall not all sleep But we shall all be changed listen to this in a moment and the twinkling of an eye at the last Trump for the trumpet shall sound and the dead shall be raised incorruptible and we shall be Changed so it seems to indicate that when the rapture takes place the resurrection happens Don't blink This it just happens in an instant Now what what does the resurrected body look like I have no idea, I don't know if you'll have a six-pack I don't know if you'll have a full set of hair. I You know that it doesn't really matter okay? It'll be a perfect body that is incapable of dying It can no longer be enticed by sin it can stand in the presence of God and it shall live forever And it's a physical body. It's not a natural body. It's a spiritual body not like the Spirit the way we would think of spirit where it's just like you can't touch it or feel it Jesus Christ when he resurrected had a spiritual body But yet he even told his disciples feel my hands the wounds in my hand and my side For a spear hath not flesh and blood as you see me to have flesh and bones excuse me as you see me to have Okay Now here it says that flesh and blood shall not inherit the kingdom of God Meaning that the only thing that can inherit the millennial reign or the new heaven and new earth is what is a body That is powered by the Spirit not by blood He says for this corruptible verse 53 must put on incorruption this mortal must put on immortality So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption and this mortal shall have put on immortality Then shall be brought to pass the same that is written death is swallowed up in victory Oh death Where is thy sting Oh grave? Where is thy victory? And you know verse 55 probably we're gonna say when we're raptured Once we get our resurrected bodies, we're gonna say Oh death. Where is thy sting now? Oh grave. Where is thy victory? Death will no longer have power over us because we're gonna live forever Go to Romans 8 if you would Romans chapter 8 Powerful chapter there in 1st Corinthians chapter 15 the resurrection chapter We see the manner of the rapture is that it's a public event. It's a cosmic event. It's a wrathful event We see the dead in Christ arise are raised first Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds and we see that our bodies receive an upgraded Transfigured body that is sinless able to stand before the presence of God and lives forever powered by the Spirit but we also see look what it says in Romans chapter 8 and verse 21 because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God now this Creatures referring to the animal and the animal doesn't receive this Transfiguration at the rapture, but it eventually does in the millennial reign look what it says in verse 22 for we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now and Not only they but ourselves also which had the first fruits of the Spirit even we are so selves grown within ourselves Waiting for the adoption to wit listen to this the redemption of our body, so there's a lot to unfold here Let me explain a couple things first and foremost it says that the creation groaneth Meaning that when you look at the animal kingdom. It's chaotic. Just look up nature as metal all kinds of blood and gore Merciless animals that kill other animals and sometimes even kill people This is what it looks like when the creation groaneth. There's death that reigns in the animal Kingdom Right and it says that they're not the only ones that groan we groan also Why do we groan well? I'll tell you why because we struggle with sin The flesh lusteth against the spirit the spirit against the flesh He's a contrary the one to the other so that we cannot do the things that we would so every day It's just like a battle with the flesh and there comes a part where it's just like man Hate my flesh Sinful flesh wretched man that I am that's what it means to groan. It's like man I'm trying to do right, and then I fail the Lord or I don't meet the expectations. I'm just I'm just not there and It says that we wait for the adoption though to wit the redemption of our body This kind of shows us that there is no redemption of the body yet The spirit has been redeemed the body has not yet We're waiting to wit the redemption of our body, and this is why Ephesians 1 13 and 14 talk about the earnest of our inheritance of the redemption of the purchase possession Referring to the fact that the Holy Spirit dwells within us as a down payment Until he redeems the entire body okay now you say why is that important to note about the animal kingdom well because that debunks Preterism as well Because if we read Isaiah we see that we're waiting for a time Where the lamb and the leper shall lie down with the kid? Oh We're not gonna be here during the tribulation. Yeah, that's what you think If you're here during this time, you will be suffering tribulation And you know what? It's our responsibility as God's people to prepare people for affliction and tribulation Because you know what the Apostle Paul said we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God Oh Except for the rapture though when it comes to that he comes first and then tribulation afterwards No, the Bible teaches that the rapture comes after the tribulation but prior to the wrath of God and typically this narrative is Proposed based upon their belief that wrath and tribulation are synonymous and they're not Tribulation is what man does unto us. Wrath is what God does and When you look at the chronology of the book of Revelation we see that from chapters 8 and on it's all wrath Prior to that from in chapter 6 we see that it's what tribulation for horsemen of the apocalypse The persecution and killing of Christians which is the fifth seal and then the rapture takes place have that in Revelation chapter 7 look at first Thessalonians 3 verse 2 it says in sent to mothy is our brother and minister of God and Our fellow laborer in the gospel of Christ to establish you and to come for you concerning your faith That no man should be moved by these afflictions for yourselves know that we are appointed there unto Hey thinking not strange concerning the fiery trial that shall try you the Bible says why that's your appointment May I remind you this evening you have an appointment with affliction? We all have an appointment with tribulation. We all have an appointment with hardships and difficulties Why that's what the bible tells us. We are appointed unto affliction Well affliction is not the same as tribulation look at verse 4 for verily when we were with you We told you before that we should suffer tribulation Even as it came to pass and you know He says hey, I told you you were going to suffer. I told you you're going to have affliction I told you you were going to have tribulation why because that's just part of the Christian life Look at chapter 5 if you would chapter 5 We See that we're appointed to tribulation as the Bible clearly says but look at chapter 5 verse 8 But let us who are of the day be sober putting on the breastplate of faith and love and for a helmet the hope of Salvation for God hath not appointed us to wrath But to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, so just a couple chapters after or chapters before it says We're appointed to affliction to tribulation and then in chapter 5 says, but we're not appointed to wrath So this is how it works in the end times The rapture comes after the tribulation because we're appointed to tribulation But he comes before the wrath of God because we're not appointed unto wrath. It's pretty simple Now go to Matthew 24, and we're done here Matthew chapter 24 Now anytime you try to show this to like a pre-tribber someone who holds to that ideology they'll often say this well Matthew 24 is for the Jews and Just Understand this that in order for the preacher relation rapture to exist it needs Zionism Like it relies heavily, you know how like Israel relies heavily upon the United States of America, you know financially Well, that's kind of like how the preacher raptures it relies heavily upon Zionism Because in order for it to even make sense in the Bible That it's a pre-trib rapture they have to hijack Matthew 24 and say that it's only designated for the Jews The preacher rapture doctrine relies on the misinterpretation of Matthew 24 in order to make it fit Look what it says in Matthew 24 verse 35 heaven and earth shall pass away but my word shall not pass away and This is what they'll say they say but of that day and hour knoweth no man No, not the angels of heaven, but my father only and to that I say amen No one knows the day or the hour of when the rapture happens, however, we can know Based upon Matthew 24 the events that take place prior to the rapture Now look at verse skip back to verse 29 It says here in verse 29 immediately after the tribulation of those days Shall the Sun be darkened and the moon shall not give her light and the stars shall fall from heaven and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken and Then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn And they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory And by the way, what did it say coming with what clouds? What did acts 1 I say that he's gonna come back with clouds What did revelation 1 7 say behold he cometh with clouds? What does Matthew 24 say that he's coming with clouds? He says in verse 31 and he shall send his angels With the great sound of a trumpet and they shall gather together the Jews No, but the Jews is an axe Shall gather together his elect from the four winds from one end of heaven to the other So this is what they'll say. Romans chapter 8 referring to believers So they rely on verse 31 meaning the Jews when it says elect whereas the Bible's interpretation the correct interpretation is that the elect is referring to Believers. Okay, and so he says to gather together his elect from the four winds from one end of heaven to the other They designate Matthew 24 31 to the Jews then the pre-tribulation rapture will make sense But what's interesting is that they'll say well Matthew 24 31 is for the Jews But hey when it comes to the rapture, no man know what the day or the hour the verses found in Matthew 24 So I thought you said Matthew 24 is all about the Jews. Well, it is except for that one verse though This is called Pre-picking You say well designate this for us Jews us Jews. No, how about this all us and Jews who are believers Now, you know in the New Testament there's only one instance where elect is addressing an angel it says the elect angels But in my opinion is probably referring to believers because angel in the New Testament also means an evangelist someone who's a messenger Okay, what's the point here let's go to this last portion I know that I said that was the last one This is the last one. I promise second Peter chapter 3 go to 2nd Peter chapter 3 Look a little look I'm closing my Bible see Closing What's the point what is the moment of the rapture the moment happens after the tribulation after the four horsemen of the apocalypse after the killing and persecution of Christians And in fact in Revelation chapter 6 the Apostle John sees under the altar the souls of them who were slain for the Word of God And for the testimony which they held saying how long old Lord holy and true Does thou not judge and avenge our blood on them which dwell on the earth? So if the if the souls under the altar are saying why haven't you poured your wrath yet? That's an indicator that the wrath hasn't been poured yet Is that hard right? He says how long the Lord showing us that he has not yet poured out his wrath And in fact in Revelation 7 God commands the angels Hey, don't pour out the wrath yet until it's sealed 144,000 in their heads foreheads showing us that the wrath of God has not yet been poured out Until all of God's people are raptured now. How do we apply this sermon? Well look at 2nd Peter 3 verse 10 It says but the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night We know what the day of the Lord means and we know what it means when it says is a thief in the night In which the heavens shall pass away with the great noise and the elements shall melt with fervent heat the earth also in the works That are there in shall be burned up Seen then that all these things shall be dissolved I want you to notice this what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God Wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved and the elements shall melt with fervent heat. How do we apply this sermon? Well, let me ask you what kind of person should you be knowing these things? Knowing that the rapture will one day happen knowing that the resurrection is a real thing knowing that Christ will return What kind of committed Christian should you be? Knowing that these things will happen and more specifically knowing that all your possessions are just gonna burn Your house is gonna burn your boats are gonna burn your cars are gonna burn Everything you own is gonna burn What manner of persons should you be? I'll tell you the kind of person we should be the person who looks for that blessed Hope who set our affections on things above and not on the things of the earth Let's pray father. We thank you so much for your word and thank you for the rapture We're thankful for the promise of the second coming of Christ in the resurrection I pray Lord that you help us to think upon it in times of distress and anguish and tribulation knowing that the things concerning us have an end and I pray Lord that you'd prepare us for that Lord as much as I would want you to come sooner than later I know that there's a work that needs to be accomplished here souls that need to be saved We know that you're not slack concerning your promises some in count for slackness But your long suffering towards the world not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance Help us as your people to further the spiritual kingdom as we await the physical one and Lord May you be honored and glorified and all that's accomplished.
