All right, and it says they call good evil They put darkness for light light for darkness bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter It's it's backwards is what it is And the fact of the matter is you see throughout the whole Old Testament The Israel was constantly going into sin. They were constantly going into idolatry they were constantly disobeying the Lord and not keeping his commandments and God would have to rain down and chastise them for not being obedient for being backwards and You see constantly that God would foretell though the downfall of his people when they would get away from him and get into idolatry Get into sin get into iniquity and you would constantly remind them of what he had originally Commanded them to do but every single time just like in the book of Judges every man did that which is right in their own Eyes, they would just do their own thing and completely disobey God and go their own way What is that? They do it in a backwards way. That's not biblical, you know They bring in the rock band to bring in the hoochie mamas dancing They teach them the false doctrine with the swelling words why because they want to reach people but that's backwards That's not the way you get people saved. Okay? You see also they even within churches churches even Baptist churches, you know, they want to see people say So what do they do? They do something called track drops. They do something called door hangers, right and Honestly, they have the sincere desire I believe a lot of these people have a sincere desire that people will come to church that will get saved They'll get plugged in they'll become all in for the Lord and start living for God. No No, what we need to do is earnestly just contend for the faith Because if we're keeping the law, that's what we're gonna do And let me tell you why you will earnestly contend for the faith if you are keeping the law Because when you read the law of God, you see that God is not God's opinions are not in a gray area they're very just Black and white yes or no with us or against us You know, it's not like this Gandhi religion where it's just you know, anybody's welcome No, God says I am the way the truth and the life no man cometh unto the Father but by me I mean, that's very That's very basic to say look he is the only way and so we're not gonna if you're keeping the law You're gonna be reading those things. You're gonna be reading the Word of God and coming to the conclusion Hey, it's either black or white. You're either in or out. You actually praise the wicked? You know the Bible says when you actually don't have the law of God and you you stop reading the Word of God You stop studying it. They're not poor. Look a guy came up to me I mean this this guy was like built. He was a man in Spanish and he was asking for money and I was with my wife and I was with my son And he said, uh, he goes hey, you know in Spanish. Can you spare some change? I said, you know what? I got a job because I got to feed this guy right here And I said and my wife I got paid the bills. I gotta buy the groceries gas Everything that my family needs I have to buy for it. So I don't have nothing to give you Okay, okay. I kind of like that term We got church that person, you know, and he used to actually believe what the Bible said about Discipline, you know kicking people out of the church. He introduced that concept to my old church You know and it was something that was believed back in the day, but something has changed where people yeah, they still believe in church discipline But they're backwards It's not Church discipline. It's a different kind of discipline It's not biblical look what the Bible says and first Corinthians chapter number five verse number six We read this earlier, but we're gonna read it again. Your glory is not good No You're not that a little leaven at leaven at the whole lump Purge out therefore the old leaven that ye may be a new lump as ye are unleavened for even Christ our Passover sacrificed for us Therefore let us keep the feast not with old leaven neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness But with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth I wrote into you in an epistle not to company with fornicators yet not all together with the fornicators of this world or with the covetous or Extortioners or with idolaters for then must he needs go out of the world But now I have written unto you not to keep company if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator or Covetous or idolator or a railer or a drunkard or an extortioner such and one know not to eat So the Bible is teaching is very clearly and I'm not gonna belabor the point because we talked about it this morning The Bible teaches us that if anybody's an extortioner Okay, someone who's threatening someone for money in the church if anybody's a drunkard a fornicator an idolater someone who's covetous Okay, someone who's a railer someone who have falsely accuses people if they're not willing to repent of those things They need to be booted out That is a biblical teaching Okay, and there's nothing backwards about it the Bible commands us to do it God is wiser than us and we ought not to lean on our own understanding. Just say hey, that's what the Bible says We need to execute that Lord gave me wisdom help me to be discreet help me to be loving But help me not to compromise this because when it happens it needs to go down. We see Church discipline happening, but not in the biblical way They keep the fornicators and they cast out those who are just Backwards You got it backwards You're doing the crisscross thing It's backwards He said prove it. Look at 3rd John verse number 9. I Wrote into I wrote unto the church but diatrophies who love it to have the preeminence among them receive it does not Wherefore if I come I will remember his deeds which he did what you do with Pradding against us with malicious words and not content with therewith neither that he himself received the brethren and forbideth them that would and casteth them out of the church Beloved follow not that which is evil, but that which is good He that doeth good is of God, but he that doeth evil hath not seen God So, you know what God calls casting someone out of the church for an unbiblical reason evil It's wicked It's backwards You see a church that would will be willing to keep the faggot the transvestite the fornicator But cast out the people who want to just congregate and be there and just so and be a blessing Bible calls that evil It's what the Bible and you said well that you said no, no, that's not evil that's loving Yeah, you're calling good evil evil good You see where the concept it lies here See it's biblical to cast someone out of the church it's even biblical cast someone out of the church for being a heretic You know if someone's in here teaching a works-based salvation you're getting the boot If you're trying to go around teach people the sodomites can be saved and you want to influence people in the church You're getting the boot you're not staying if you're coming in here trying to Debunk the Trinity you're getting the boot Anything that would be a dandable heresies you're getting the boot because it's a biblical reason But let me say this if you're pre tribulation. But if you believe in one of those things You know look let's just say you believe that maybe sodomites can be saved. That's fine But just don't bring them, but you're not gonna get cast out of the church for that Okay, that's not a biblical reason to cast someone out of the church now you know we went through a bunch of reasons why people could get cast out of the church and Those are biblical reasons why to get cast out, but to get cast out because you're a post trip Because your replacement theology Because you hate homos You know not a biblical reason Right Well, no you're backwards You're crisscrossing your Christianity Okay, see see see You're crisscrossing your Christianity. I love the positive stuff, man That's good stuff, man I love the mercy of God I need to be reminded of the mercies of God and his long-suffering his Forbearance and those are his attributes those are his qualities that we need to comprehend and have an understanding of amen to that But it's backwards when it comes to the preaching because the Bible says there reprove rebuke and exhort Okay, you see when you only have exhortation, and you're building people up, but you're not tearing them down Oh, you shouldn't tear people down reprove rebuke exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine The Bible says to lift up our voice like a trumpet cry out loud and spare not and show my people their transgression That's what the Bible says Okay, because here's the thing in order for someone to really appreciate the exhortation of God you have to be humble But to be humble you have to be shown that you're wrong You have to be corrected and when you're wrong you're corrected you recognize. I'm wrong guess what the exhortation is just that much better Then you receive the teaching you receive the grace of God and guess what you you understand that the grace of God doesn't teach you To be lascivious it teaches you to deny ungodliness and worldly lust But what do we see today that Christians and churches are turning the grace of God into lasciviousness? Because all they get is exhortation and exhortation and exhortation and building up and building up and occasion to the flesh all these things And what happens they just get in the most grossest of sins because all I hear about is the grace of God Whereas if you reprove and rebuke the grace of God teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lust You know sometimes you just got to get up and rip face Show my people their transgression we can't live in this candy land world where it's just like no one sins everyone's good You know good God good devil good sin. Everything's good There's a reality check You know the reality is people sin The reality is if we're not if we don't if we don't keep a thermometer in here And we don't have vigilance in here sin can just run rampant Okay Go to Proverbs or excuse me go to Jeremiah chapter number six. I'm gonna read to you from Proverbs chapter 27 verse number five I already quoted it, but I'll read it against his open rebuke is better than secret Love, but we got a backwards today. It's actually all about open love and secret rebuke Right Yeah, what does that mean you openly love everyone and then you secretly rebuke, but not really calling out the same You're generalizing everything Sin is bad. You know We're preaching where it's just like not specific about any sin. It's not specific about something that's going on in the church It's very indiscreet. You're not very specific So guess what the person who's actually involved in that sin is like well. I guess he's not talking to me You know and they'll say well, I'm not talking about anyone in here, you know, even though these four people are involved in that No Open rebuke is better than secret love. Okay Jeremiah 6 14 says they have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly Saying peace peace when there is no peace scary Slightly means sleight of hand and means deceitfully and he says look there's peace peace and God saying hey Well, hold on a second. There is no peace You're gonna get it, you know people were involved in fornication. They're good. They're about to marry a divorced person. Peace. Peace And what does God say? No, no, there is no peace with that That's not good, you know and again he says it you don't have to turn there Jeremiah 8 11 He says for they have healed the hurt of my daughter of the daughter of my people slightly saying peace peace when there is no Peace, here's the thing. We would think peace would heal The daughter who is hurt But you know, God says no no, no, you have to rebuke it you have to tear down Okay, then you can build it up. That's God's equation No, that's your equation. No, that's God's equation and look sometimes I don't understand it, but you just gotta obey it Okay, don't be a backwards Christian. And what is a backwards Christian simply a person who believes they know how to do it better than God Okay, they see what God does and say No, I'll do it another way. Okay, for instance backwards Christianity can it could just be involved in so many at Facets of life we talked about it this morning. But what about the wife submitting to her husband? Right and the wife says well you just don't know my husband you're backwards That's backwards and sometimes you have wives, you know who preach at their husbands You know They might preach at their husbands and they start getting on their husbands and all these things about their husbands It's like that's not your place Yeah, but I know more Bible than him and he needs to be told not by you You got it backwards You see you need to let God deal with your husband You need to let God humble your husband and you just follow your husband Love your husband reverence your husband respect your husband It'll turn out great for you promise You see that this doesn't make sense to you or to me. Well, you know why because you backwards It's backwards and here's the thing is Men, oh man, you know what he wants from his wife is the respect Want to be respected because we got an ego It's huge ego you know and then a wife needs a husband to just just Lord Amen calling him Lord. He's the boss But you know what? That's God's order like oh you're chauvinist. That's just God's order Okay, and it's worked for thousands of years it's God's never had to read to to just change it up No That's how the order has always been just keep it that way when if you don't understand it obey it by faith and you'll see In the in the end results that it's just the way you wanted it to be But it's when you lean into your own understanding you become backwards that you don't get the results that you've desired And many a wife in Baptist churches have just turned their husband away They're not involved in the things of God why cuz your ways not working Do it God's way and it'll work Go to Galatians chapter 1 So another thing that we're Christianity's backwards in is their service for God You say what does that mean? You know when we serve God who are we serving? God right, it's not that hard right serving God. Amen. So when we serve God who we're trying to please God Are we trying to please man? No, but you know what we have today is Christians trying to please man They got it backwards. It's in a serving God, but they're doing it by pleasing man And look at the Bible says in Galatians 1 verse 10 for do I now persuade men or God? Or do I seek to please men for if I yet please men I should not be the servant of Christ Here the Bible's telling us here is in order to be a servant of Christ you got to have the motive of pleasing God That's why Jesus Christ was the servant of God. You know why because he did always those things that please him Amen, and if we're gonna please God we need to make sure that we're trying to please God and not man We're not compromising in different areas of service or ministry in order to please God. No, it doesn't work that way You don't you don't scale back to sermon. You don't change anything. You don't compromise You don't change the way the church is supposed to be done just to please man You see churches today. They change everything to try to keep the members in the church Okay, I mean I even heard about people casting people out of the church Not in my old church people casting people out of the church just for the sake of keeping a tithing member in their church And look there's people who got money in churches And you what that means they got power They got influence over the pastor Because they got money not here. I don't need your money Mike my God holds a cattle on a thousand hill Okay, and his money's green, too Amen But there's there's there's members out there They're just like they know they got the influence over the pastor and they can ask whatever they want Because their pastor will brown nose them to death to get it You're pleasing man, but you know what if that's you you're not pleasing God You're gonna compromise the message you're gonna scale it back You're not gonna say the things that need to be said You're not gonna do the things you need to be doing why because you just want to please man It's not the way it's supposed to work. I'm gonna skip a couple points here because we're out of time go to uh, let's see Go to Proverbs chapter 1 Now go to Proverbs chapter 29 same book, right So Now we also see that a lot of Christians are backwards in their fear See fear is a good thing Fear is a healthy thing Okay, but it depends on who you're fearing Because the Bible says the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge but fools despise wisdom and instruction See when you fear God and you're afraid of God, that's a good thing Why because it helps you to stay in line with what God's telling you to do if you have a fear towards God You're afraid of God. You're afraid of his judgment. It'll keep you right Okay, because you know that God can judge you God can chastise you and there's a fear there that something bad is gonna happen That's a good kind of fear. But what is the bad kind of fear? Proverbs 29 25 says the fear of man Bring it the snare but who's gonna put it this trust in the Lord shall be safe So God says that when you fear man, you're gonna have a snare a snare something that caused that captures an animal, right? Well, it's a trap. So what is God saying when you fear man? You're getting trapped You know why because you're at the subjection of whoever When you fear someone you fear their opinions what they're saying about you what they're opinionated about you But you know what? Well, you don't care what anyone says you can say whatever you want that God wants you to say But when you're afraid and you're not afraid of God, you're afraid of man. You want to tailor the message to the congregate? But When you fear God, you're like no we got to go ahead and just say everything that needs to be said here God hates faggots God hates people, you know all these things you got to say them Why because you're afraid of God? You see, but what do we have today? We have a backwards Christianity where people fear man more than they fear God Okay, and you see it in their ministry you see it in their churches The Bible says be not wise in thine own eyes fear the Lord and depart from evil You see the one who's wise in his own eyes says well we can't we can't we can't say things like that from the pulpit You know, you can't tell people that you can't kick people out of the church. You can't do that That's not very wise you hear that a lot. That's not a very wise thing to do Well, you know what be not wise in thine own eyes Why don't you fear the Lord and depart from evil and just do what God told you to do John 12 42 says nevertheless among the chief rule is also many believed on him But because of the Pharisees they did not confess him lest they should be put out of the synagogues for they loved the praises Of men more than the praise of God Jesus cried and said he that believeth on me believeth not on me But on him that sent me so we see here even the Pharisees who believed they didn't want to confess him openly Why because they were afraid of? Man, okay go to John chapter number eight. This is our last point I'm out of time We're talking what are we talking about today? We're talking about Christians who are backwards they call an evil good and good evil Okay, and the last one is this backwards in our perception of the man of God Backwards on our perception of the man of God you see the man of God in God's eyes is an important man okay is a man who's esteemed as a man who me who's important in the eyes of God and He's a person who God says that God's people should esteem, right? But what do we see today? We see churches who are not esteem in the man of God They're not esteem in the servant of God, they're not a steaming those who are righteous They're condemning those people look what the Bible says in John chapter 8 verse 37 reminds me of the Pharisees look what it says I know that you are Abraham's seed But you seek to kill me because my word hath no place in you I speak that which I have seen with my father and you do that which you have seen with your father They answered and said to him Abraham is our father Jesus said them to him if you're Abraham's children you would do the works of Abraham But now you seek to kill me a man that hath told you the truth which I have heard of God This did not Abraham he do the deeds of your father then said they to him we be not born of fornication We have one father even God so the Pharisees over here trying to kill Jesus. Who's the man of God right? He's got himself, and they're over here trying to use the fact that they come from Abraham as their reputation Well, you don't understand we knew jack house Then why are you tearing down the person who preaches like Jack house? You're backwards You know they're over here talking about will we be Abraham see well Abraham rejoiced to see my day Abraham knows exactly who Jesus Christ was Okay, so did Moses so did all the prophets in fact when Jesus Christ reprimanded the the the the Christians on the road to Emmaus what he say or he fools and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken and Beginning that Moses and all the prophets he expound them into them and all the scriptures the things concerning himself They all knew about him You know if you would have believed Moses you would have believed me for he wrote of me They said right and what do we have today today? We have people who supposedly lift up the old prophets of the past they talk very highly of them I'm talking about the godly problems not not in Rockman Rockman is the devil okay? That guy is out. I'm talking about the godly men who preached hard and yet they condemn the modern prophets Right it's funny. They want to raise up a new generation of preachers Who do something great for God and then finally when they're raised up? It's like they condemn us You say you're a great prophet. You know what I don't consider myself to be a great prophet, but I must think in profit Okay, why cuz I'm preaching the Word of God. I'm proclaiming what the Word of God says and I'm not the only one There's a bunch of us out here You say you're trying to isolate no no no there's a bunch of it There's more to come so you better get used to it because there's more to come and more men are being raised up But what do we see today in Christianity people these prophets are being condemned and the Pharisees are coming along and say oh? We be Abraham see we're we're house energy graduates You know we came from first Baptist Church of heaven You know I know dr. J Frank Norris. I know but you're condemning the people who would preach like them Yeah We're just like the prophets of all look. There's always been a prophet This isn't new there's always been a prophet right always. We just happen to be the ones of this generation amen But what do you see a backwards attitude? Where they want to say like they're a part of the prophets of old, but they're condemning the prophets of the modern Christian world It's not right Okay the Bible says in Matthew 23 37 Oh Jerusalem Jerusalem thou that kill us the prophets and Stone and stem that are sent unto thee how often would I have gathered thy children together? Even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and you would not you know it's funny, but it's true You know people say that they praying for revival and then pastor Anderson showed up, right? But you know what I mean not just him There's a lot of people showing up What they prayed for is coming to flourish in? Because here's the thing the old IFP they want to reach the next generation, but they're backwards about it They think if we scale back to sermon preach soft sermons. It's gonna happen. It's not happening But look hey the next generation is being reached here Amen, that's a great thing and guess what their prayers being answered. Maybe not the way they wanted it to But it's happening man. Where are the answers to the prayer? They've been praying it like send us a revival you know Please Lord send us a revival God's like there you go You know He has a beard But he looks like a Muslim you know It's like God the people are never content with the way God just presents things right He's like well. That's not exactly how I wanted it It's just like God's like I gave it's like you know he they wanted meat right and he they gave him God gives him quail Right or they wanted me or that he gives a manna from heaven, and they're just not content with it You know But it's backwards their perception of the man of God has become backwards now I'm to go to Isaiah chapter 30 is the last verse You know you say how do we avoid being backwards how do we avoid that? By not crisscrossing your Christianity Okay, you got to make sure we just got to make sure we stay right on point You know and one thing that that struck me that brother Matt Stuckey. You know he told me when he was here He said you know it seems that the older Preachers get they just don't want to fight anymore You know and it's true. I don't know what I don't know what it is But we just got to make sure we as preachers the older we get we don't stop fighting You know and I know how it's like I mean when you're in the ring fighting kickboxing or whatever Towards the last rounds you start to slow down a little bit because you're tired You know what I mean, but you know I appreciate the fighters that though. They're tired. They're still swinging And we I guess we just got to make sure that towards the end of our lives. We're still swinging amen We're still fighting. We're preaching the right doctrines and no matter what takes place We're just holding down the fort raising up the next generation and look. Thank God that these children They're gonna be raised in this kind of a church Amen Isaiah 30 verse 8 says now go write it before them in a table and note it in a book That it may be for the time to come forever and ever that this is a rebellious people lying children Children that will not hear the law of the Lord which say to the seers see not and to the prophets Prophesied not unto us right things speaking to us smooth things prophesy deceits That's backwards see prophecy in its very nature is rough Always saying prophesy unto us smooth things It's backwards we need to get back to knowing and just being Straightforward in our biblical Christianity and say let's not do things that are backwards Let's make sure we keep the definition the way it's expanding the Word of God preaching is hard You know Church discipline the way it needs to be done the love of God along with the hatred of God and everything in between Okay, and look who knows when the the second coming of Christ is obviously we know it's after the tribulation, but until that day Let's do our best to not be backwards backwards Christians. We're thankful for the Apostle Paul who we learned much about Lord And I pray that you'd help us Lord and and one thing Of course that we need to make sure that we keep in line is just being humble and may no one confuse hard preaching for pride Hard preaching is something that's commanded in the Word of God but at the same time help us to remain humble help us to recognize that Lord we're nothing without you and if we ever break your commandments if we if we if we decide to veer off the road of A biblical Christianity we're gonna suffer those consequences as well and we'll become backwards We'll begin praising the wicked and condemning the just help us never to be that people Lord We thank you so much.
