easter and i'm preaching on the resurrection i'm excited about the sermon tonight tonight i'm preaching on 12 keys for answered prayer there are 12 things the bible tells us we must do we want our prayers answered and i don't know about you but i'd like my prayers to be answered and i want to encourage you to be with us tonight as we learn from the word of god and of course we have our wednesday evening bible study at 7 p.m and we call our evening service the wednesday evening service the most encouraging service of the week we're studying the book of psalms together we'd love for you to join us uh for that if you look at our soul winning times our main soul winning time is on saturday mornings at 10 a.m soul winning is when we go out in the community we knock doors we invite people to church and we preach the gospel to anyone who's interested we have additional sewing times listed for you there as well and then of course we want to wish everybody a happy easter this morning we're glad that you are with us we've got uh special things going on today we have special music from the vbc choir and orchestra and right after the offering the choir is going to be singing for us and then we also have a little gift a small gift for all of the children we have a special gift for all of the guests we'll talk about that in a minute but for all of the children we have these little cadbury eggs and at the end of the service after the preaching while we're singing the last song we'll have the ushers go through and every child in the service that stays awake no i don't know maybe not that but every child in service will get a little cadbury egg as a little treat this morning so you can be looking forward to that of course if you look at the announcements and upcoming events several things we have going on here at verity baptist church that we'd like you to be aware of first of all we have our annual ladies tea coming up on saturday may 3rd at 3 p.m and this is a beautiful uh event that my wife puts on every year i want to invite all the ladies for an elegant afternoon tea in honor of mother's day this is the saturday not before mother's day but the week the saturday before that saturday and there's going to be food and fellowship a gift basket will be given away you can sign up through your communication card if you've not yet signed up please make sure you do that on your communication card on the back there's a place for you to sign up and let us know that you are planning on coming and then also we've got just some volunteer opportunities thank you to all the ladies who sign up to help but we could use some help from the men and after the ladies tea we have a time where we need to get everything uh put away and set back up for church the next day so men if you're able to help at 5 30 p.m on that saturday on your on your communication card you can check off that you can help with that and we would appreciate your help with that also of course we have our mother's day service coming up and we'd love for all of you to join us for mother's day we're gonna have a small gift for all of the ladies all the girls in attendance not just mothers but every uh lady and girl in the service will get a small gift from us that day we'll have special music from the children's choir the children's choir will be singing for mother's day so just want to encourage you to make a note to be here for mother's day on sunday may 11th and then we also have an announcement here for the teenagers there's a youth conference coming up on june 16th through the 19th this is open to students 7th through 12th grade and if you are interested we are getting a delegation of teenagers together to go and if you're interested in being part of that the nvbc annual youth conference the theme is high noon on your communication card you can let us know that you'd be interested in getting more information about that and we can follow up with you and get you the info you need also children's choir there's practice today at 5 15 they're meeting in the playroom this is for ages 4 to 12 years old of course they're practicing for mother's day and then we also want you to just make a note of this you should have one of these cards there in your bulletin and this is a brand new sermon series that we're starting next sunday morning of course today's easter and we're learning about and i'm preaching on the subject of the resurrection of the lord jesus christ but next sunday morning we're starting a brand new series called timeline of the end times and we're going to be going through systematically every major event that the bible tells us is coming during the end times and you'll notice that on the back you've got information about that i want to give you this card for a couple of reasons first of all so that to remind you and you might be interested in this type of study interested in these things and we want to encourage you to be with us next sunday morning as we begin this brand new series the best time to be in church is right at the beginning of a brand new series or bible study so you can get every single one of those lessons and next week we're going to begin with a sermon on the four horsemen of the apocalypse we're going to be learning what the bible teaches about that so i think you'll find this a very interesting sermon series and we want to encourage you to be here for that and if you know someone that might be interested you can use this card as an invitation and invite them with you next week as we begin this brand new sermon series timeline of the end times we want you to be aware of that if you look at the back of the bulletin birthdays and anniversaries for the month of april today is michael and teresa's salazar's anniversary and then this week we have miss april villa's birthday on april 22nd brother brent and miss leilani thompson have an anniversary on april 22nd miss lindsey johnson has a birthday on april 25th and brother misael and miss shimrit have an anniversary this week on april 25th as well praise report money matters all of those things are there for you to look at just a quick announcement about uh soul winning normally we have soul winning and at 2 p.m on sundays and normally we have cleaning around that time as well but due to easter we're postponing some of that however if you'd like to go soul winning there'll still be an opportunity for you to do that but just right after the service if you'd like a map brother shaw will be in the foyer and he'll have maps if you'd like a map to go sewing this afternoon you can grab one from him right after the service and that way you can go sewing this afternoon if you'd like but there'll be no meeting at 2 p.m so just make a note of that also for the cleaners we're postponing that for now but the staff and some volunteers are going to be cleaning right after the morning service we're trying to give them the afternoon for easter so if you'd like to help with that or if you're able to help with that then you can meet them in the foyer and we would appreciate of course any help that you can do with regards to that and then of course if you're a first-time guest and we have several guests with us this morning we are so glad that you are with us and we'd like to just point out to you that you should have one of these little inserts there in your bulletin it just gives you some information with regards to being a guest if you're a first-time guest we have a gift we'd like to give you as you walk out of the church building this morning you'll see on the table there in our main foyer these little gift bags please grab one on your way out as a gift from us to you for being our guest this morning we'd also love to have a record of your attendance and we're not going to do anything odd with your info we'd just like to actually send you a little gift in the mail but we need your information to do that so if you take a moment and fill out the communication card which is also inserted in your bulletin well we'd love for you to take a moment to do that you need a pen you can raise your hand one of our ushers will bring you by a verity baptist church pen if you'd like you can actually scan the qr code and fill out and uh an online version of that communication card if that's easier for you whichever way you'd like to do it but we'd love for you to take a moment uh to fill that out and like i said we'd love to have a record of your attendance when we're done with the announcements we're going to sing a song when we're done singing we're going to receive the offering and as the offering plate goes by you can drop that communication card in the offering plate or you can come by and uh i hope you'll come by and greet me after the service i'm going to be standing at the back door at the main door greeting people on the way out i'd love to take a moment to meet you and uh just let you know that we're thankful to have you with us here today i think that's it for all of the announcements so we're going to go ahead and sing the chorus of the week which is also an insert in your bulletin and we're going to sing beyond the cross this is a beautiful song you have to sing it with passion so i'm going to ask you to sing it out think of the words as we sing them and as we celebrate the resurrection of christ this morning let's go ahead and sing it out on the meeting strength for my journey i know at the cross where jesus once died for me me sing it out me me there any more, and beyond the tomb is life everlasting, and hope forevermore. Good. Lift up your voice on the second. And I saw three assurance, and I went to the tomb place where his body once lay. And I cried, Lord, help me see. Is there hope here for me? And this I heard him sing. Good. Sing it out. Beyond the cross is a tomb that is empty. You won't find me there anymore. And beyond the tomb is life everlasting, and hope forevermore. Amen. Good singing this morning. Just a few reminders before the guys come up and help us with the offering. First of all, we'd like to remind you that we are a family integrated church. What that means is that children and infants are always welcomed in the service. We do not separate children from their parents for any reason. However, we do have mother-baby rooms and daddy rooms available for your convenience, and we have those rooms open for you as well, of course. And we'd like for you to use those rooms if you need them. If you have a child that's been distracting during the service, if you need some privacy, we'd encourage you to use them. All of the rooms have comfortable seating. They have monitors or window setups. You can watch the service and listen to it. If you're not sure where those rooms are at, you can look at this little insert you have there, and it'll let you know where the mother-baby rooms are, where the daddy room is. It'll show you where the restrooms are. And then, of course, if you'd like information about baptism, I'd like you to notice on the back of this insert, it talks about baptism. If you'd like to learn about baptism, there's a sermon that you can listen to. There's a QR code there for you as well. Or you can let us know on your communication card that you'd like information about baptism, and we'll follow up with you and talk to you about that. And then, of course, please don't forget, we'd like you to make a note of the little note there. Please don't forget to turn your cell phones off or place them on silent during the service so that they don't go off in the middle of the preaching. We'd appreciate just your respect with that. If you wouldn't mind just checking your phone, making sure that it's off or silent, vibrate, something like that, and we appreciate your help with all of those things. We'll have the guys come up and help us with the offering at this time, and let's go ahead and bow our heads and have a word of prayer. Heavenly Father, Lord, we do love you. We thank you for allowing us to gather together today. We thank you for Easter and what it represents, the resurrection, and Lord, we pray that you would bless the singing, the preaching, the fellowship. Lord, we pray that you would speak to us through your word. In Jesus' name we pray, amen. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
