All right, it's now time for favorites, where if you're selected, we will sing a stanza from the song that you picked. Madison, go ahead. The other one. What was it? Go for it. You. Madison. Yes. 19. The next one is you. Song number 19. There is a fountain filled with blood drawn from the manual of space. Song number 19, sing it out on the first. Sing it out on the first. faith is the victory, number 410. And to all the thousand lives on the world, it is not worth the cost. And yet, no one can make us apart, for this is not a crime. And thus, no man can make us apart, for this is not a crime. And thus, no man can make us apart, for this is not a crime. God no other can help me but me. God help the free and the applied. God no other should be hurt. And still our ancient glow, the sea to earth as home, may sprout and cloud the grave, and our faith will be made. God no other can stop this dream. Lord, you need me to sing it out on the first. Take my life and let it be consecrated. Lord, you need me to take my hands and let them move at the end. Hosanna, hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hosanna, hallelujah! Mark that. Forty-three. Forty-three. Come on. Four, three. The morning is a day. If you would join with me tonight. Come with me now. Come on with me. And let our joys be known. Join me in the sound of freedom. Join the song of freedom. And thus, we start our path. We're marching to sound. Beautiful, beautiful sound. We're marching to sound. We're marching to sound. Come on. Two thirty-six. Song number two hundred and thirty-six. Song number three hundred and forty-six. No, not one song. Two hundred and forty-six. There's that friend like you always can see. Two hundred and fifty-five ten years. This love we have only choice. Come and ride. Come and ride. And as we weep for some days to close. La la la, la la la, Jesus, Lord of our struggles. We will walk till day is dry. Let the rain light the lovely Jesus. La la la, la la la. Now, we're going to sing one more song, but for this one, we're going to grab the chorus of the weekend. As Brother Anderson said this morning, New Year comes with new traditions. So we're going to sing the wonderful Jesus medley as the last song for favorites. You're going to sing this one out, all right? It's a fun song. It's a joyful song, so we ought to sing this one out with some passion. Sing it out on the first. He's a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Isn't Jesus my home, wonderful? I shall see His hour as we go in the turn. Isn't Jesus my home, wonderful? Powerful, powerful, Jesus, yes, indeed. That's the love of Christ, the peace that He was deep. Time He gave, He believed, God will save His shame. All who grow in His gravity will praise His name. Precious King of our street, over the world and over the world I shall see, Lord, I shall see. All the world can tell Him, heaven is a wonderful place. We'll play glory and praise. I want to see, I want to see Your face. Heaven is a wonderful, heaven is a wonderful, heaven is a wonderful place. But until then, my heart will follow us here. Until then, Victoria, give me love. Until then, my heart will follow us here. Until then, my heart will follow us here. This was not our home, but just a massive room. The church was not made up so that we never knew. The angels buried me from heaven's door. And yet we let go in this world we know. For the Lord Jesus, for the Lord Jesus. For His name we'll all receive. For His love we'll die for Thee. Amen, and we want to welcome you to the Sunday evening service here at Verity Baptist Church. We're so glad that you are with us. Let's take our bulletins and we'll look at some announcements real quickly. If you do not have a bulletin, just raise your hand and one of our ushers can get one for you. If you need a bulletin, just put your hand up and we'll get one for you. The verse this week, Psalm 136, one, oh, give thanks unto the Lord for He is good, for His mercy endureth forever. And that's a good verse there. We like that. If you open up your bulletin, you'll see our service times Sunday morning service, 10 30 a.m. We had a wonderful service this morning and we had 212 in church and that was a good attendance and we're glad that you are here tonight for the evening service. We do invite you to be with us for the Wednesday evening Bible study at 7 p.m., our midweek service. We call it the most encouraging service of the week and we'd love you to join us, of course, for that. If you look at our soul-winning times, our main soul-winning time is on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. and we'd love you to join us for our big soul-winning rally on Saturday morning. I'm teaching some lessons on being a fruitful Christian on Saturdays and I'd love for you to be a part of that. Then we have additional soul-winning times on Thursdays and on Sundays at 2 p.m. as well. And if you are a soul-winner, please don't forget to mark your salvations on your communication card. If you had a salvation, let us know so that we can get that in the bulletin and also if you have a map that you did not finish, please clearly mark what was done, what was not done and put it in the bin in the foyer so that we can get that recycled through and make sure we get that done. And then, of course, if you're coming to one of our soul-winning times and you're running late, please don't forget to call us or text us at the number there, 916-868-9080. Let us know that you're planning on being there but you're running late, that way our soul-winning captains can make sure they have a map for you and a partner and they can make sure that you're situated with regards to that. If you look at the announcements and upcoming events, we just want you to be aware of some things coming up. First of all, we're really excited about the BBC Family Fun Night and this is something that we used to do years ago and we're bringing it back and I hope you'll be excited about it and this is gonna be a service that is gonna be geared towards the kids. Now we, of course, are going to still have adults here for the service so it's not something where you drop your children off. This is a family-integrated church so we keep the children together with the adults. We don't ever separate children from their parents but this service is gonna be geared towards the children and we're going to have some songs for the children. We'll have normal songs that we do normally but we'll also have some special songs for the children. We're gonna have a Bible lesson for the kids and the Bible lesson's gonna be good for the adults as well and one of the things that I plan to do with these Family Fun Nights and one thing that I kinda have as a vision for the children in our church is I want them from the time that they are old enough to comprehend and understand, I want our church to teach these children from three years old, four years old to before they go into the youth group at 13 years old, 12 years old, we want them to learn all the major Bible stories in the Bible and we're gonna systematically work through those and we wanna make sure that these kids know all the stories and by the way, that's gonna be good for you adults too because you probably don't know some of the stories and you need to know them as well so it's gonna be a good time and we're gonna have a puppet show of course. Freddie and Amy are making a comeback so you're not gonna wanna miss that and it's gonna be a good time. Also on that night for the teens, there's going to be a separate lesson for the teens in the fellowship hall so just be aware of that and there'll be a good lesson for them as well. So I hope you get excited about the Family Fun Nights. That's a few weeks away on Sunday night but we just want you to be aware of that. Also of course, there's a wedding this Saturday for Brother Adam Ritchie and Miss Emily Gessler. The entire church family is invited and that is this Saturday, January 18th at 2.30 p.m. If you are planning on attending and you've not yet RSVP'd, you can do that on your communication card and if you would do that, they would appreciate knowing who's coming and then of course, we have a teen activity coming up on Friday, January 24th at 6 p.m. and it is a laser tag activity. The address is there for you. We will be meeting at the location at 6 p.m. All the teens are invited, 13 to 19 years old. Siblings are not included but one parent is so all the teens, there's gonna be three laser tag games for them to play, all the teens can do that and also one parent would like to play. If there's a parent that wants to play, then they can be a part of that. We'll have pizza afterwards. Of course, there'll be a lesson for the teens as well. Nine chapters a day, we hope you're sticking with it. Don't quit, don't give up. If you took the challenge for the month of January, make sure you stick with that and then of course, they had choir practice today, that went well. Homeschool group, we've got PE class coming up on Thursday, January 23rd and February 6th. So if you homeschool moms wanna make a note of that, those are the next PE class. Ladies, weight loss and accountability group, they meet on Wednesday nights at 6.15 if you'd like to be a part of that and that is a group that my wife leads. They meet in her office, so you're welcome to be a part of that if you'd like. Upcoming cleaning crew, you can check for your name there and we of course appreciate your faithfulness with that. If you look at the back of the bulletin, birthdays and anniversaries for the month of January, this week we have Sophia Lee Wilson's birthday on January 14th and then Brother Matt and Miss Rizel Lee Wilson have an anniversary on January 14th as well and Madeline Gonzalez has a birthday on January 15th. Brother Sean, Miss Eva Rodari have an anniversary on January 15th and Yaseline De Dios has a birthday on January 18th. Praise report, money matters, all of those things are there for you to look at and if you are a first time guest, if it's your first time here at Verity Baptist Church, we're so glad that you're with us. We have a special gift for you as you walk out of the church building this evening, as you go out our main doors there, you'll see a little table set up and on that table, you'll see these little gift bags. Please make sure you grab one on your way out as a gift from us to you for being our guest this evening. There are several things in this bag that we'd like you to have but the one I like to highlight is this documentary that our church made. It's called Being Baptist and it's very well made, very interesting, I tell people it's educational, it's entertaining and it pretty much takes you from the time of Christ all the way to modern history and it takes you from the historic Anabaptists to the impact of the independent funeral Baptist churches and we think you'll just enjoy this one and I'll give this to you as a gift so please make sure you don't leave here without grabbing one of these gift bags on your way out and if you are a guest, we'd ask that you please take a moment to fill out the communication card which is inserted in your bulletin. If you need a pen, you can raise your hand, one of our ushers will bring you by a Verity Baptist Church pen, you're welcome to keep the pen, of course as a gift from us as well and we would love to have a record of your attendance. We actually would like to send you a little gift but we need your information to do that so please take a moment to fill the card out. When we're done with the announcements, we're gonna sing a song, when we're done singing, we're gonna receive the offering and as the offering plate goes by, you can drop this card in the offering plate or you can hand it to me after the service. I'll be standing at the main door greeting people on the way out and I hope you'll come by and say hello. I think that's it for all of the announcements so let's go ahead and take our song books and we're gonna sing one more song before we receive the offering and we're gonna go to page number 121. One, two, one, like a river glorious. This is the kind of song you wanna sing with passion, so let's go ahead and sing it out. On the first, like a river glorious, is God's perfect peace. Why the river glorious, is God's perfect peace. All the joyous, is God's perfect peace. All the joyous, is God's perfect peace. Perfect and it will all win for every day. Perfect and it will all win for every day. Sing it out. Sing it out. So let's go ahead and open your mouth, make a joyful noise unto the Lord, sing it out on the second. All the joyous, is God's perfect peace. All the joyous, is God's perfect peace. All the joyous, is God's perfect peace. I think I see Christ, and perfect peace again. Amen. Good singing. Before the guys come up for the offering, let me just remind you that we of course are a family integrated church. What that means is that children and infants are always welcome in the service. We do not separate children from their parents for any reason. However, we do have mother baby rooms and daddy rooms available for your convenience. All of the rooms have comfortable seating. They've got monitors set up or windows set up so you can watch the service and listen to it. If you're not sure where the mother baby rooms are, where the daddy room is, you can look at the back of the bulletin. You'll see a layout of the church building. It'll show you where the mother baby rooms are, where the daddy room is. It'll show you where the restrooms are. And so if you have a child that's been distracting during the service, so if you need some privacy, we'd encourage you to use those rooms as needed. If you need to be baptized, please let us know on your communication card and we'll follow up with you and get you situated for baptism. And then of course, if you wouldn't mind, please make sure you turn your cell phones off or place them on silent during the service so that they're not a distraction during the preaching so they don't go off. We'd appreciate you just checking your phone and making sure it's off. We'll go ahead and have the guys come up and help us with the offering at this time. And let's go ahead and bow our heads and have a word of prayer. Heavenly Father, Lord, we do love you. We thank you for allowing us to gather together on a Sunday night. Lord, we pray that you'd bless the offering, the gift and the giver. We pray that you would bless those that support this ministry financially. And Lord, we pray that you'd bless the time set aside for the preaching of your word. In Jesus' name we pray, amen. ["Praise the Lord"] . . . . . . . . .
