Tis the grandest steam o'er the mortal stream Tis the grandest steam, tell the world again Our God is able to deliver thee, is able to deliver thee, is able to deliver thee Though by sin our prayers call to him, for as our God is able to deliver thee On the last, tis the grandest steam that the tidings roll to the guilty heart Look to God in faith, he will make thee whole Our God is able to deliver thee, is able to deliver thee, is able to deliver thee Go to him, for as our God is able to deliver thee Amen. Great singing. Welcome to the Wednesday evening service here at Verity Baptist Church. We're glad to see everyone here this evening. Let's bow our heads and have a word of prayer. Dear Heavenly Father, Lord, we thank you for the opportunity to come to your house this evening, Lord. Thank you for the people that are here. We pray that you'd bless the service, bless the singing, bless the preaching, come in who love you. And in Jesus' name I pray. Amen. Alright, turn to page number 140. Song number 140. We'll sing We Have an Anchor. Song number 140. On the first. Will your anchor hose in the storms of life When the clouds unfold their wings of strife When the strong tides lift and the cables strain Will your anchor drift or firm remain We have an anchor that keeps us so Set fast and sure while the billows roll Fastened to the rock which cannot move Grounded firm and deep in the Savior's love It is safely moored till the storms they stand Till the tips secure by the Savior's hand Though the tempests rage and the wild winds blow That an angry way shall embark our flow We have an anchor that keeps us so Set fast and sure while the billows roll Fastened to the rock which cannot move Grounded firm and deep in the Savior's love See it out on the last When our eyes behold through the gathering night The city of gold our harbor ride Will anchor fast by the heavenly shore Where the storms all pass forevermore We have an anchor that keeps us so Set fast and sure while the billows roll Fastened to the rock which cannot move Grounded firm and deep in the Savior's love The bulletins will look at some announcements this evening. If you do not have a bulletin, just raise your hand and one of our ushers can get one for you. If you need a bulletin, just put your hand up and we will get one for you. The verse this week, Psalm 23 6, Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. And that's a good verse there. We like that. If you open up your bulletin, you'll see our service time Sunday morning service 10 30 a.m. And then of course we have our Wednesday evening Bible study at 7 p.m. If you look at our soul winning times, our main soul winning times on Saturday mornings at 10 a.m. And then we have additional soul winning times on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays at 2 p.m. So if you'd like to go soul winning, there will be an opportunity for you to be able to do that tomorrow at 2 p.m. If you're a first time guest, if it's your first time here at Verity Baptist Church, we're glad you're with us. We have a gift we'd like to give you as you walk out of the room. We're glad you're with us. We have a gift we'd like to give you as you walk out of the church building this evening. If you go out our main foyer or if you go out our secondary foyer, you'll see a little table set up and on that table you'll see these little gift bags. Please grab one on your way out as a gift from us to you for being our guest tonight. There are several resources in this bag that we'd like you to have. The one I like to highlight is this documentary called Being Baptist. It's a documentary that our church made. It's very well made, very interesting. We think you'll like it and we want to give this to you as a gift. If you are a guest, we'd ask that you please take a moment and fill out the communication card, which is inserted in your bulletin. We aren't going to do anything odd with your info. We would actually just like to have a record of your attendance. We'd like to send you a little gift, but we need your information to do that. Please take a moment to fill the card out. When we're done with the announcements, we're going to sing a song. When we're done singing, we're going to receive the offering. As the offering plate goes by, you can drop this card in the offering plate. If you look at the announcements there, we of course are a family integrated church. What that means is that children and infants are always welcome in the church service. We do not separate children from their parents for any reason. We do have mother-baby rooms and daddy rooms available for your convenience. The mother-baby rooms all have comfortable seating. They have monitor set up so you can watch the service and listen to it. If you have a child that's being distracted during the service, so if you need some privacy, we'd encourage you to use those rooms as needed. If you need to be baptized, you can let us know on your communication card. On the back, there's a place for you to sign up to get some information about baptism. We'll follow up with you in regards to that. If you look at the announcements and upcoming events, of course this last Sunday we had I Love My Church Sunday, and we just had event after event around here, so I'm kind of looking forward to being done with all the events. But we had a good Sunday of course, great turnout, and everything went well. So thank you to all of you who participated. We could really tell you tried for the potluck, all right? So good job. You did a great job. It's amazing what guilt will do, but okay. Young Men's Workshop is coming up this Thursday, February 23rd at 10 a.m. All the young men ages 8 to 17 years old and their dads are invited to a workshop to learn the basics of how to work with their hands. If you'd like to attend, you can sign up on your communication card. If you have any questions, please see Brother Joel Usher, and he's the one that's heading this up for us, and he'll be able to answer whatever questions you need. Lunch will be provided, so we need to know if you're coming, so please make sure you sign up. All the ladies are invited to a baby shower for Miss Ajana Ghansharab on Saturday, February 25th at 3 p.m. That's not this Saturday, but next Saturday. She is having a boy. She is registered on Amazon. It is a potluck, so if you can, please bring a dish to share. If you'd like to attend, you can sign up on your communication card. Nine chapters a day challenge. It's over, but if you've finished, please go by the clipboard in the main foyer. There's a clipboard, and we just need you to check your name. We need you to just look for your name. It's in alphabetical order. If your name is fine, then we need you to put a checkmark next to it, letting us know that it's fine. If there's something wrong with it, you can cross it out. There's a line next to it. Just write legibly how it should be written. If it's missing, if it should be there and it's not, there are lines at the bottom. Add your name, but we need you to do that because in a couple of weeks, we're going to remove that clipboard, and then we're going to get the plaque made. Once the plaque's made, someone is going to come up to me and tell me their name wasn't right, and I'm going to say, well, we've got a clipboard out there. Please help us with that because we're not redoing the plaque. It's like the law of the Medes and the Persians. Once it's done, it's done. If your name's not on there, if it's not right or whatever, we need you to tell us that now. Please go by that clipboard and take a look at it. Choir practice for Easter begins on Sunday, February 26. Please make a note of that. If you're going to be part of the choir, we need you there at that first practice. You need to be there at that first practice, and you need to be on time. Make sure you make a plan of that. The first practice, the first practice, and the last practice are the most important practices. Make sure you're there for the first one, and that way you can get all the information you need. Homeschool group, they had the party on Tuesday. That went well. They've got PE tomorrow at 10 a.m., so don't forget about that. Upcoming cleaning crew, you can check for your name there. There's other things there for you to look at. Please don't forget to turn your cell phones off or place them on silent during the service so that they're not a distraction to anybody. If you look at the back of the bulletin, birthdays and anniversaries for the month of February, we had Delia Vincent's birthday on February 14th. Brother Victor, Miss Julissa Zuniga had an anniversary on February 14th. And then Celise and Jamie, happy birthday today on February 15th. Praise report, money matters, all those things are there for you to look at, and I think that's it for all of the announcements. So we're going to go ahead and take our songbooks, and let's go to page number 125. Page number 125, and we're going to sing the solid rock as we prepare to receive the offering tonight. 125, my hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness. Sing it out on the first. My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but only lean on Jesus' name. On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand. Other ground is sinking sand. 125, sing it out on the second. When darkness veils his lovely face, I rest on his unchanging grace. In every high and stormy gale, my anchor holds within the veil. On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand. All other ground is sinking sand. His oath is covenant, his blood support me in the whelming flood. My soul gives way, he then is all my hope and stay. On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand. All other ground is sinking sand. Sing it out on the last. When he shall come with trumpet sound, O may I then in him be found, dressed in his righteousness alone. On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand. All other ground is sinking sand. Amen. Good singing. We'll have the guys come up and help us with the offering at this time. And let's go ahead and bow our heads and have a word of prayer. Heavenly Father, Lord, we do thank you for allowing us to gather together tonight. Lord, we pray that you'd bless the offering, the gift and the giver. We pray that you'd meet with us as we take time to pray for our church family. And of course, as we preach from your word, Lord, we pray that you would speak to our hearts. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. We pray that you'd bless the offering, the gift and the giver. We pray that you'd bless the offering, the gift and the giver. We pray that you'd bless the offering, the gift and the giver. We pray that you'd bless the offering, the gift and the giver. We pray that you'd bless the offering, the gift and the giver. We pray that you'd bless the offering, the gift and the giver. We pray that you'd bless the offering, the gift and the giver. We pray that you'd bless the offering, the gift and the giver. We pray that you'd bless the offering, the gift and the giver. We pray that you'd bless the offering, the gift and the giver. We pray that you'd bless the offering, the gift and the giver. We pray that you'd bless the offering, the gift and the giver. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Amen. All right, well, let's take our prayer sheets tonight and we'll go through our prayer list. If you did not receive a prayer sheet on your way in, please raise your hand and one of our ushers can get one for you. If you need a prayer sheet, just put your hand up and we will get one for you. And just while we get those out, a couple of things. First of all, I just want to give you an update that brother Ron is back home now from the hospital. So praise Lord for that. And we are going to be providing meals for him. So if you'd like to sign up to bring brother Ron some meals, then please see my wife after the service. She has the clipboard and she can get you signed up for that. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
