We're going to open in prayer dear Lord We thank you so much for the chance to be here today Lord and we pray that you would bless your word as it's preached and Fill us all with your Holy Spirit Lord as the word goes forth and in Jesus name we pray. Amen All right today. I want to preach to you out of the book of Revelation Now Revelation is the last book in the Bible and it has to do with the end times It has to do with the end of the world. It has to do with Bible prophecy and future events now We brought a couple of big boxes of DVDs that we have here and on your way out the door We're gonna make sure that every single one of you gets a DVD. We brought over a thousand DVDs So you're all gonna get a DVD that has to do with the book of Revelation the end of the world Bible prophecy Things of that nature But the title of the sermon today is on the wrath of God the wrath of God and I'm going to be preaching from Revelation chapter number 16 Now the Bible uses the word wrath to talk about anger Wrath means a very intense anger a very burning anger and the Bible talks a lot about the love of God The grace of God the mercy of God But it also talks about the wrath of God or the intense anger of the Lord Now if we study the book of Revelation it talks about how in the end of the world God is going to pour out his wrath upon this earth God is going to pour out various plagues upon the earth and those plagues of God's wrath are found in the book of Revelation chapter 16 so I'm gonna read for you from the Bible listen very carefully and I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels Go your ways and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth And the first went and poured out his vial upon the earth and there fell a noisome and grievous sore Upon the men which had the mark of the beast and upon them which worshipped his image So when God pours out his wrath upon this earth in the end of the world The first plague that he's gonna send the first vial of God's wrath is that he's going to send a horrible sore People are going to get sores on their body if they are ones who have taken the mark of the beast So anybody who worshiped the Antichrist or got the mark of the beast on their forehead or in their hand is going to get Sores all over their body now who here put up your hand if you've ever seen a picture of somebody who took meth The drug meth who knows what I'm talking about like a meth addict Have you ever seen those pictures where they have sores all over them who knows what I'm talking about Well the Bible says that at the end of the world When God pours out his wrath on this earth the first plague that he sends is that people are worshiping the devil People are worshipping the Antichrist People have received the mark of the beast in their right hand or in their forehead are going to receive sores all over their body They're gonna have sores on them That's the first plague second plague the Bible says in verse 2 and the and the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea and it became as the blood of a dead man and Every living soul died in the sea So the second plague that God sends is he actually turns the water into blood now Do you remember back in the Bible where Moses went to Egypt and he said let my people go And he brought the children of Israel out of Egypt. Do you remember how Moses turned the water into blood? Well, the Bible says that at the end of the world in Revelation 16 the second vial the second plague is when God Turns the waters of the ocean into blood Let me give you the third plague verse number four and the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters And they became blood and I heard the angel of the waters say thou are righteous Oh Lord Which art and was and shalt be because thou has judged thus For they've shed the blood of saints and prophets and thou has given them blood to drink for they are worthy So the Bible says that the third plague that God's gonna send is that he's going to turn the fresh water into blood That means the Demerara River will be turned into blood someday he'll turn the fountains and the rivers of waters into blood and people will desire to have water to drink and they won't be able to find any water to drink and Therefore they will have to resort to drinking that blood out of the river now Can you think of anything more disgusting than that? Wouldn't that be terrible? How angry must God be if God is pouring out his wrath by sending Sores all over people's bodies and then turning the water in the ocean into blood and then turning the rivers and fountains Into blood God must have been pretty mad, right? now let me keep reading the fourth plague and the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the Sun and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire and Men were scorched with great heat and Blasphemed the name of God which hath power over these plagues and they repented not to give him glory So I live in Arizona who knows where Arizona is put up your hand Arizona is a state in the United States. It's right next to California and Arizona is the hottest place in the whole United States. It's very hot where I'm from So when I come to Guyana and it's pretty hot and I'm sweating This is nothing to me because where I come from it's even hotter than this. It's the hottest place in the whole country Do you guys do Fahrenheit or Celsius here? Celsius Well in the summertime where I live it gets to be 45 degrees Celsius 45 degrees very hot But the Bible tells us that at the end of the world when God sends these plagues He's actually going to scorch men with great heat. It's gonna get even hotter than 45 degrees outside It's gonna be burning and hot and people are gonna be cursing God because it's so hot and they're so uncomfortable that's one of the plagues that God's gonna send a Scorching burning heat unlike anything we've ever felt. It'll be like Death Valley all over the world the fifth plague is found in verse 10 and the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seed of the beast and his kingdom was full of darkness and they nod their tongues for pain and Blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores and repenting out of their deeds So not only do they have sores not only has the ocean been turned into blood and the rivers have been turned into blood and Men are being scorched with great heat from the Sun But also the Bible says that then after that with the fifth plague God's going to send darkness over the whole world It's going to be so dark that you won't even be able to see your hand in front of your face Now that's a pretty scary thought because in the darkness, you know people can do all kinds of crazy things and bad things And so that's the fifth plague the plague of darkness. Let me give you this sixth plague. Listen carefully and the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates and the Water thereof was dried up that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared and I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the beast and Out of the mouth of the false prophet for they are the spirits of devils working miracles Which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world to gather them to the battle of that great day of? God Almighty so that sixth plague is a great army that's going to be assembled and brought forth to Bring warfare and obviously warfare brings death and famine and sorrow and suffering Here's the sixth or the seventh and final plague from the book of Revelation here the seventh vial of the wrath of God It says in verse 17 the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air and there came a great Voice out of the temple of heaven from the throne saying it is done and there were voices and thunders and lightnings And there was a great earthquake Such as was not since men were upon the earth so mighty an earthquake and so great and the great city was divided into three parts and the cities of the nation's fell and Great Babylon came in remembrance before God to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath and Every island fled away and the mountains were not found and there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven Every stone about the weight of a talent and men blaspheme God because the plague of the hail For the plague thereof was exceeding great Okay So let me just give you a quick review of all seven of these plagues first God's gonna cause all those that had worshiped the Antichrist and received the mark of the beast to have sores all over their body, right? That was the first thing we saw the second thing was when the waters of the ocean were turned into blood The third thing was when the rivers and fountains of waters were turned into blood The fourth thing was when men were scorched with great heat The fifth thing was when God sent darkness over the face of the whole earth the sixth thing was that great army that came from the east to bring warfare and Trouble to the Middle East and then the seventh thing was this whole list of judgments where there's going to be thunders Earthquakes lightning's but the greatest of these was that hail would come from the sky Big giant balls of hail that are like almost like rocks falling out of the sky and just pummeling and pelting Everything and everyone and the Bible talks about men Blaspheming God because of this plague of the hill now. What is it that made God so mad now? Don't you wonder why would God be so angry with the world that God would pour out his wrath? This is not a fairy tale This is a real story about what's going to happen someday in the end of the world What is it that made God so mad? Well, I'll read for you what the Bible says made him so mad The Bible says the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues Yet repented not of the works of their hands that they should not worship devils and idols of gold and silver And brass and stone and of wood which neither can see nor hear nor walk neither repented They have their murders nor of their sorceries nor of their fornication nor of their theft So the Bible gives us a list there of what it was that made God so mad That he's going to bring those judgments someday that his wrath will be poured out someday One thing was that they worshiped idols They had gods of gold gods of silver gods of brass gods of iron and the Bible said in that verse That when they worship those gods of gold and gods of silver they're actually worshipping devils They're actually worshipping demons The Bible says that the things which the Gentiles offer and sacrifice unto idols They sacrifice unto devils and I would not think you should have fellowship with devils The Bible says that we should not have gods of silver and gods of gold and wood we shouldn't have idols God created the whole world and we should not think that he could be made like unto a graven image The other thing that made God so mad was Sorcery witchcraft black magic and you know that that goes on today even in the world that we live Another thing that made God so mad was murder Murder killing someone the Bible says thou shalt not kill and a lot of people commit murder today And a lot of people even murder their own children or have abortions And so that makes God very angry and then the Bible also says because of their fornication Fornication is when you have sex outside of marriage the Bible says that's a sin and it's a sin that makes God Angry and incurs the wrath of God and not only the fornication but also the theft Theft what's theft it's stealing and the Bible says thou shalt not steal But a lot of people they don't want to work and earn things for themselves They rob other people and steal and hurt other people. So these are some of the sins that made God mad idolatry Fornication Theft and sorcery But the main thing I want to talk to you about today is how to escape the wrath of God How to escape the wrath of God I don't think any of you here today wants to be on this earth when God pours out his wrath Do you want to be there when this happens? None of you wants to face the wrath of God? I know I don't want to face the wrath of God. I want to experience the love of God I don't want to experience the wrath of God I don't want to be on this earth when God is raining hell and fire and brimstone and hail out of the sky and Turning water into blood. Well, the Bible tells us how we can escape God's wrath The Bible says in verse number 10 of 1st Thessalonians 1 and to wait for his son from heaven Whom he raised from the dead even Jesus which delivered us from the wrath to come The Bible says that Jesus Can deliver us from the wrath to come he has delivered us from the wrath to come if we believe in him It also says in 1st Thessalonians 5 9 for God hath not appointed us to wrath But to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ the way to escape the wrath of God is to obtain Salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ now, how do we get salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ? Well, the first thing we need to know is that we've all sinned before every single one of us has sinned Nobody's perfect. Even if you've never been a murderer or a sorcerer You've all lied before I know I've lied put up your hand if you've lied before Everybody has lied before and myself don't talk about it. Just put up your hand and put it back down again So we've all sinned we've all lied We've all done bad things and the Bible says that the punishment for that is death The Bible says the wages of sin is death. And after the physical death the Bible talks about Spiritual death the Bible talks about a second death It talks about going to a place called hell where you experience the wrath of God and fiery torment in hell You don't want to go to hell and I don't want you to go to hell and God doesn't want you to go to hell So that's why Jesus Christ died on the cross for us so that we would be saved and so that we don't have to go To help the Bible says but God commended his love toward us and that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us So even though we've all sinned even though we've all lied Even though the Bible tells us that all liars shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone Which is the second death because God loves us He came to this earth in the form of Jesus and he lived a perfect life that none of us could live Jesus never sinned and Jesus performed a lot of miracles. For example, he walked on water He healed the sick He raised the dead back to life But he also preached the Word of God and when he preached the Word of God a lot of people were Offended and angry by his preaching So therefore he was arrested and when Jesus was arrested they beat him up. They spit on him They hit him in the head with a stick and then they nailed him to the cross And when Jesus was on that cross the Bible says that he himself bear our sins in his own body on the tree So every sin you've ever done and every sin I've ever done. It was as if Jesus had done it He was being punished for our sins and when Jesus died on the cross They took his body and buried it in a tomb and then three days later He rose again from the dead and he showed them the holes in his hands and the hole in his side to prove that he'd Risen from the dead now Jesus died for everybody in the whole world But everybody's not going to heaven There's one thing that we have to do in order to be saved the Bible asks the question What must I do to be saved and they said believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou? Shall be saved in thy house The one thing we must do to be saved is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved The most famous verse in the Bible John 3 16 says for God so loved the world That he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life So the Bible tells us that if we believe on Jesus will be saved. We'll have everlasting life now everlasting means forever So when Jesus saves you he doesn't save you for a little while. He saves you forever So you only have to get saved one time The Bible says for the wages of sin is death But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord the gift of God is eternal life God wants to save you today and Being saved is as simple as receiving a free gift The gift of God's eternal life. How do we get that gift by believing on Jesus Christ now? Let's say I were going to give you a gift today if I were to give you these DVDs For example that we're giving out if I were to give you a DVD and tell you okay now you have to give me $1,000 is that really a gift? What if I said okay? I'll give you a gift, but you have to do some work for me come wash my car No, that's not a gift is it What if I gave you the DVD and then I came back two weeks later, and I said I need it back I need you to give it back. That's not a gift so two things about a gift a gift is free and A gift is yours to keep you don't have to give it back. It's yours to keep so God said the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord So once we receive that free gift of salvation by believing on Jesus. He's never going to take it away from us Once we're saved we're saved forever It's impossible to lose your salvation because once you believed on Jesus Christ He gives you eternal life, and he makes you the promise. I will never leave you Nor forsake you I will never leave you nor forsake you Jesus said I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand Once you believe on Jesus Christ you are saved forever Now let's say after you believe on Jesus Christ you do something really bad. Let's say you commit a really bad sin Well if you do that Then God's gonna punish you because God will punish us on this earth for the sins that we do on this earth But as long as we believe on Jesus Christ We will still go to heaven because being saved is not based on how good we are because we've all sinned We've all sinned and come short of the glory of God being justified freely by his grace through the redemption That's in Christ Jesus, so if we believe on Jesus He forgives all of our sins now Jesus died for us 2,000 years before we were even born So that means that Jesus died for all of our sins Past present and future before we even did them because he died 2,000 years ago That means if we believe on Jesus Christ today He'll forgive all of our sins, and we will escape the wrath to come he's delivered us from the wrath to come now if You believe on Jesus you're a child of God. You're a son or daughter of God. I have nine children Now yes, I really do I have nine children at home This guy in the green shirt is my oldest boy right here, but I he has eight brothers and sisters now if My son disobeys me. I'm gonna punish him. I'm not just gonna tell him it's okay. He's gonna be punished But I'm not gonna kick him out of the family no matter what he does no matter what he does He's my son, and I'm still gonna love him. It's the same way with God once we believe on Jesus Christ He'll never leave us. He'll never forsake us. He'll never kick us out of the family, so how many times do we have to get? saved then One time only once because once we're saved. We're always saved We're saved for eternity, but if we break God's commandments after we get saved He'll discipline us he'll punish us just like I punished my son, and I don't know about you But I don't want to get a whipping from God. I don't want to get punished by God That's why I want to obey God's commandments okay, but no matter what we do once we believe on Jesus Christ We have everlasting life, and he will never take that away from us now today I want to ask you a question, and I don't want you to talk. I just want you to raise your hand if You here today believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins that he was buried and that he rose again and if you believe that Jesus is the only way to heaven and That you get to heaven just by believing on Jesus put up your hand if you believe that right now All right now go ahead and slip them down again And what I want to do if you believe that if you believe Jesus is the only way to heaven if you believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins and was buried and rose again and That just by trusting in him is going to get you to heaven just by believing in him not based on how good we are But based on how good he is Let's bow our heads And you can pray this prayer with me and say this directly to God close your eyes bow your head if you want to pray This prayer if you believe that just repeat after me and say to the Lord dear Jesus I Know I'm a sinner I Know I deserve hell But I believe that you died on the cross for all my sins and rose again Please save me right now and Give me eternal life I'm only trusting you Jesus Thank you for delivering me From the wrath to come Amen now The Bible says That whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved The Bible says that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shall believe in thine heart that God has raised him from The dead thou shalt be saved so according to the Bible That's the one thing you must do to be saved is just believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you're saved forever Thank God for his love and mercy and grace that saves us from the wrath to come now We have a DVD that we would like to give to all of you Okay, so we're gonna station ourselves at the two exit doors Okay, and we're gonna give everyone a DVD as they go out the door all right So we want everybody in a moment to very orderly line up and come out the door and everybody gets a DVD Oh Oh Wow we just had an awesome experience we just preached to 571 students I preached on the wrath of God I went through all the different seven vials of God's wrath from revelation 16 And then I preached about how to escape God's wrath by believing on Jesus Christ, and I went into my plan of salvation So anyway, we had an awesome time just the whole place put up their hand practically to receive Christ I don't know how many of them.
