(Disclaimer: This transcript is auto-generated and may contain mistakes.) Amen. Well, thank you for having me again. I'm glad to be here. Glad to see everyone. And man, it seems like you guys are staying here the same or going little by little. But it looks like you guys are about 90% filling this place up and look forward to having to, you know, look forward to another building once you guys get bigger and bigger. But I know you're going to grow and it's amazing to see your faithfulness, especially since you don't have a pastor that's here preaching to you all the time. Pastor Shelley does his best. And of course, you know, sometimes he gets herself stuck in the corner and he has to call me to come preach, but that's okay. You know, forcing quarterbacks aren't that bad either. But if you have your Bible, go ahead and look down at Isaiah chapter number 33. The verse that I want you to focus on is verse number 14 that says this. The sinners in Zion are afraid. Fearfulness has surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? Who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings? I'm going to tell you something right now. It ain't going to be us. That's not going to be us in everlasting burnings. And I like how it starts since the sinners in Zion are afraid. And that's what we need today is for sinners to be afraid, especially the ones where it says fearfulness has surprised the hypocrites. The hypocrites, that's referring to the unbelievers. And unbelievers are the biggest hypocrites. Let's just face it. That's what the Bible says that, that, you know, there are going to be some people, you know, that are servants that are going to have their part with the unbelievers. In another verse, it says with the hypocrites. Why? Because let's just face it. Unbelievers who claim that they know what salvation is. In reality, they don't. And people that think that they know, you know, that there is no God. When you look at their evidence, it's weak. And they mock us because we believe in a God we've never seen. You know, but they don't look at themselves believing in a big bang they've never seen. You know, but we have way more evidence than them. And by faith, we get saved. And that's what really it comes down to it is having faith, not stupid faith, but they have stupid faith. That's just, that's just how I see it when it comes to the atheist and everyone else. Man, I'm glad I got that donut. It's waking me up a little bit, you know, but the title of my sermon is this three reasons why we must preach on hell or three reasons to preach on hell. The reason I want to preach on this is because let's face it, you know, we have a small little battle with a certain pastor that I don't know how far he is from here, but it's now teaching something that is completely not biblical. And if you don't know what I'm talking about, I'm talking about Pastor Manley Perry. Pastor Manley Perry believes that a person that goes to hell, whatever he believes in is just going to burn up and that's it. That is not going to be eternal. It's not going to be forever, but here's the thing. There's people in this church that either agree with them or are too afraid to really stand up to the truth and preach what the truth really is. And it's very crazy to believe that you don't, that hell is not everlasting because it's all over the place. Amen. You know, but false teachers, they do that. They teach craziness when it comes to hell or they don't even talk about it at all. Who knows? Probably because they fear it themselves. And I'm talking about false teachers like T.D. Jakes, Joe Osteen, Joe Myers. You know, with these individuals, they're not going to talk about hell because let's just face it, inside they know that they probably can end up in there and they don't want to think about the reality of hell. And then it's hard to find these people talking about hell. And in fact, I did a quick experiment. I just ended up just trying to find something from T.D. Jakes, something from Joe Osteen, something from Joyce Meyer or whoever the latest and greatest false prophet is that's out there, just trying to see what they have taught recently in regards to hell. So I just googled it. I just googled, went on YouTube and just search T.D. Jakes hell or T.D. Jakes preaching on hell or T.D. Jakes, you know, warning about hell, something. And you know how many videos came out? Zero. Zero video. Can't find one on him preaching on hell. I figured, okay, let's try the next guy. Joe Osteen, same thing. Joe Osteen preaching on hell, Joe Osteen on hell, Joe Osteen warning about hell. Guess how many videos I found? Zero. Not a single one. I figured all right. Maybe Joes Meyers has the guts to preach on hell. Did the same thing. Joes Meyers on hell, Joes Meyers preaching on hell, Joes Meyers worrying about hell. Guess how many videos came up with Joes Meyers warning us about hell or talking about hell or preaching a full sermon on hell? Zero. Zero. And then I don't know, but there's this guy, I don't know if I pronounce his last name correctly. Steven Furtick. Have you guys heard of him? I don't know. I don't know much about this guy, but every single time I went to Pastor Anderson's sermon, it seems like he pops up. He's like the next guy up. But when you search Pastor Anderson, he's like right there mixed up with him. You guys know what I'm talking about? I did the exact same thing with him. And he has a really big YouTube channel. I think it's like 1.5 million. It's up there in the millions. And I think the average sermon seems to have about 500,000 views. You know, that's a lot of people on a weekly basis. He uploads a sermon and it seems like it's 300,000 views. Some have a million views. So I figured, okay, let's see what this guy has to say. Steven Furtick, you know, on hell, Steven Furtick preaching against, preaching for hell, worrying about hell. Guess how many videos came up with him talking about hell? Zero. Zero. I wonder why? Well, my guess is they don't want to, they don't want to talk about hell. They don't want to even keep it in their mind because inside all these guys have one thing in common. They believe you have to repent of your sins in order to be saved. In other words, there's a chance they can still burn in hell. So the thought of them burning in hell probably doesn't go well with them. So they don't want to talk about it or retain hell in their knowledge. But when it comes to real men of God, right, real men of God, they're not going to be careful to talk about, you know, something that they believe in. They're going to make sure you understand nice and clear what they believe in. So I figured, you know what, let me see what comes up when I do Pastor Anderson. I haven't done them in a while. So I popped in, you know, YouTube, Pastor Steven Anderson, and I just did Pastor Anderson, hell. And this is the top 10 videos that came up, literally top 10 videos. It wasn't mixed in with anybody. It was just Pastor Anderson preaching on hell, Pastor Anderson on hell, and these came up. And so the first video that came up was Damnation of Hell, or video number two, the majority of people are going to hell. Number three, The Bottomless Pit. Number four, Why Believers Will Never Go to Hell. Amen. Number five, Horrific Nature of Hell. Number six, Tell Her the Killer Goes to Hell. I don't even know who that guy is. You know, but Tell Her the Killer Goes to Hell. There's a clip on that guy. You know, video number seven, Baptist Preachers That Will Be in Hell. You know, number eight, The Gates of Hell. Number nine, Jesus Went to Hell to Pay for Our Sins. Amen. Number 10, The Reality of Hell. So let's just say he's doing a really good job preaching on hell, warning about hell. But you know what, I can understand why even say pastors will hold off a little bit and not want to preach on hell, or even us as parents not really want to talk about hell, you know, because it's a tough subject. You know, it's a subject that, you know, it's just, I don't know how to really explain it, you know, but it's a subject that can I guess you can say, you know, convincing or, you know, it can leave you feeling guilty, you know, for more than one reason, you know. But when it comes down to hell, you know, I didn't even want to preach this sermon this morning. I had another one I wanted to preach. I wanted to preach on unbelief. And that's what I'm going to preach about this afternoon. But I guess God wanted me to preach this one because my iPad couldn't even get up this morning for me to pull up that sermon that I have saved on my Gmail. And I even saw the hotel while they got a little office space, you know, where I can go in there and print it out there. So I figured, okay, I told my son, hey, I'm going downstairs to go print my sermon for this morning. And I couldn't even get it going. I couldn't even log into Word. So I'm like, all right, forget it. And I figured, all right, Lord, I know I should preach on this this morning, because this is something that they're going to need because they're going out. So when it's 2pm, true. It's the only time you're going. So it makes more sense. Now looking at it, I'm glad the iPad didn't come up. I'm glad I couldn't get it printed out on Word this morning. Because let's just face it, whether it's morning service or evening service, I think this is better for the morning service because you guys are going to go out there. You know, one of the points that I'll bring up has to do with soul winning. But I'll get into my first point. The first reason why if there's anybody who wants to be a pastor who's thinking, man, maybe I should hold out preaching on health, or needs a little bit of motivation to preach on health. Well, here's a positive thing, but may not seem positive. But the obvious reason why we should preach on hell is because it scares people. It horrifies people. Amen. And like you see right there in Isaiah 33, it says the sinners in Zion are afraid. This is not there as a negative thing. This is there as a positive thing. And then it says the fearfulness has surpassed the hypocrites. And then it talks about hell right away. Who among us shall dwell with the divine fire? Who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings? And that's not the believer. The believer is not going to do that. But that's there to scare the sinner. Amen. That is there to get them to get afraid. If you have your Bibles, go to Mark 9, go to Mark 9 43. And this is especially true when it comes to soul winning. You know, hell is something that does scare people whether they want to admit it or not. And for the believer, it's not as scary. For the unbeliever, it should be scary. And people sometimes, you know, do panic when you even start talking about hell at their door. You know, I've had many experiences that maybe you have as well. When I knock on the door, talk to the gentleman, he goes to church or whatever the case, somebody in the church. Oh yeah, I already got a church, whatever the case might be. And you just find out, ask him, well, you know what, what if you died today? Do you know for sure you'd be in heaven? And sometimes it just comes out. This is how my pastor used to do it before I went to paperwork. He used to just go to people and just say, look, if you die right now, do you know you're going to heaven or hell or do you not know? That's just, that's how he does it. And just going with someone who hit him a lot, I sometimes do that. I usually don't. Usually it's like, hey, more important than going to church is going to heaven. Are you 100 percent sure you're going to heaven? I should leave it at that. But sometimes it does come out where I'm just like, you know what, more important than church is going to heaven. If you died today, do you know for sure you'd be in heaven or hell or don't you know? And sometimes when I say hell, they freak out. They're like, whoa, don't use that word in front of my child like their kid is there just listening in. You know, and they make it seem like it's a bad thing because they're afraid of it and that's a good thing for them to be afraid of it. You know, but I quickly try to turn it into a positive thing. It's like, look, but if, you know, if God loves you, then he wants you to go to hell. And of course they all used to say no, but sometimes they're like, hey, I don't want to talk about that subject. Don't say that in front of my kids. Don't use that word in front of my kids because it does scare them. And they should, you know, because we should bring this up to people because we should, in a sense, horrify them with the reality of hell. You know, where do we get that from? Jude is a perfect example with Jude verse 122 says this, then if some have compassion, making a difference and others say with fear, pulling them out of the fire. So yes, I do want to put the fear of hell in people's hearts when I do go knock doors. And sometimes I do speak to people and I ask them, do you believe in hell? And they say yes. And I just simply ask them, what do you believe hell is? And they struggle to answer. They're just kind of like, well, do you believe it's fire? Well, I'm not sure, but you know what? They need to believe that hell is real. What are they being saved from? You know, and I've heard of an independent fundamental Baptist pastor. His name is Jack Treer from Northern California, North Valley Baptist Church. And the reason I mentioned in his name, because I think this is something bad that he taught. He was given a story about how he got saved and he was supposedly, he got him saved. And then afterwards he started conversating with him, just talking a little bit longer. And then he ended up talking about hell, according to Pastor Treer says that, I ended up mentioning something about these people are going to die and go to hell. And that guy says, whoa, he's like, I don't believe hell is real. He's like, brother, hell is real. He's like, whoa, did you forget the mansion that when you were getting this guy saved? You know, but this is how people are. They tend to kind of forget to bring that subject up. And I try to bring it up every single time, just because somebody says, yeah, I believe in hell. Doesn't mean it's the hell of the Bible. Or they have a hell that's not as bad as the hell in the Bible. And that doesn't give them the urgency to want to listen more or to really understand what salvation is, because they think that hell is like maybe Manly Perry. Oh, he just burned up. Well, sometimes people think that God hates them so much because they're in sin and they're not living a perfect life and they're quote unquote, a screw up. And they may think that, oh, well, God doesn't like me right now. And the reason they don't want to hear you give them the gospel is because they may have a wrong idea of what hell is. They may think what hell is probably a bad place, you know, but I don't think God will really send me to a fiery burning hell is going to last forever. You know, but that's what some people think. You know, I recently had my vehicle broken into, and it was funny because there were these two guys trying to break into my vehicle. I stepped out the office and they're like looking at me, I'm looking at them. And I just kind of just, I just ended up feeling like, yo, you know, what's going on, dude? I don't know exactly what I said, but it was something to the degree it was like, yo, dude. And then sure enough, they looked at me and they took off running. And I'm like, whoa, what's going on? And I realized they're breaking into my vehicle. They took my license plate off my vehicle. And then on the side of the door, I kind of looked at it and I saw that the guy was yanking something. He ended up breaking off the door handle and there was like a metal piece he was trying to pull to open the door to basically get in my vehicle and steal my stuff or steal my van. I don't know, but they ended up taking off. And so what happened is I just went back in the building, went to grab a phone to kind of call the police, but my phone was dead. Typical horror movie, right? It's dead, right? When you need it. So I'm thinking, man, I'm out of here because I didn't want these guys to come back because they can easily smash the window. And by the time my phone gets enough power to call, it'll be too late. So I don't know what's going on, but I quickly just thought, oh, maybe I can jump in my van really quickly and just take off. So as soon as I kind of saw that, all right, they're gone. I just gambled and I quickly got out, locked the door, you know, went to my vehicle. They didn't break the driver's side, opened it up, jumped in. And then when I jumped in, I looked to the left and I saw a car and I'm thinking, whose car is this? And I'm thinking, is this their car? No way. And just, I wasn't even thinking this wasn't smart. I just quickly get out, open the door and my license plate is in there. And then I looked a little more and my broken door was in there. The door lock was in there as well. And I'm thinking, man, this is their getaway car. And I kind of looked in left and right. And there were like boxes and there was different materials there. And I'm like, what in the world is this? It's like, this looks like stolen stuff. So I just grabbed my license plate and my broken lock and jumped in my van. And I'm thinking, man, I can totally take off the lug nuts off their tire. I don't know why I thought that. I'm like, I can totally do that. So I just quickly did it. I quickly got out of my car, grabbed my little thing, went through the thing and started one by one taking a lug nut off. And I took them all off and I jumped in there. And I'm thinking, and it was stupid. This is just to let you know, I wasn't in my right mind. This is around 5.30 in the morning and it's dark. And I'm just thinking, boom. So I took off all the lug nuts, went back in there. I put everything. I was being nice. I took everything I wanted to put in my pocket because I'm thinking maybe the car is stolen. So I jumped in and then I thought to myself, I can totally take that tire off because I'm thinking they might still, I don't know why I was thinking they might still be able to drive off. I'm thinking I can totally take it off. And it had a jack in my van. That's one of those strong jacks. It's just one pole, connect them and go. So I said, you know what? I'll do it. Forget it. So I went basically to the side, opened up my sliding door, grabbed it, threw it underneath the car, lifted it up. And since the car came high enough, I pulled the tire out, pressed the button, the car just dropped down. And now I grabbed the thing, grabbed the wheel, going to my office, throw it in my office, locked the door, jump in my van. Then I'm thinking, no, they're going to see the wheel and smash the window and go in there and grab it. So I ended up just going back in the office. I don't know what I was thinking. Like I said, I wasn't thinking straight. I just grabbed everything, went into a supply closet, threw my jack in the supply closet, threw the tire in the supply closet, came out, locked the door, jumped in my vehicle and drove it off and basically parked it away from our vehicle backwards so I can peel off in case they come back. And then I started to call the police. So as I'm calling the police, the guy runs back to his vehicle and jumps in his vehicle and gets on the phone. And I'm on the phone like, oh, the guy's back. Give him the address. Sure enough, they end up saying, okay, what's the description like? Okay, there's a description, no problem. We'll get some police officers there. And within probably 30 seconds, police officers showed up and they blocked the guy in and whatever. So what happened is afterwards, they investigated the whole thing. They had a bunch of stolen stuff in the vehicle. You know, the cop comes to me and kind of starts laughing because he didn't believe my story. I told him what had happened. And he said, well, it was really, he said it was very funny because they're all up to the guy and they're like, hey, what are you doing here? Oh, I just parked here. I'm just making a phone call. I'm about to leave. And they're like, oh, you just got here and you're about to leave? He's like, yeah, no problem. Well, how are you going to leave when you're missing a tire? And literally, the guy's like, I'm missing a tire? Yeah, your back tire's completely missing. It's like, what? And then he comes out and he's like, you want to tell me what really happened? And he's like, all right, no problem. The guy was on probation. So he fessed up because he said, if you keep lying to us, you know, we're going to charge you with all kinds of stuff. You're going to go to jail. So then the police comes over and it's like, where's the tires in the office? Okay, we need the tire bag. We need the license plate back because I actually took the license plate off his vehicle, too. I ended up getting my drill and I took it off. I'm like, they stole mine, I'll steal theirs. That's kind of what I was thinking. And I was thinking, if I take theirs, because at first I thought, all right, I know what to do. I'll take their driver's license off or the plate off. I took that off and I figured, okay, they drop off, whatever, maybe the cops will come over and steal all the stolen stuff. Then I'm thinking, no, you know, let me just take the tire off, take the tire off, whatever. But what happened is after everything was said and done, you know, the police officer's like, all right, everything's said and done. We're going to sign and release him. He's in a lot of trouble. He's on probation. He's just a young kid. He's just an idiot. We told him to stop messing with people. And we even told him to come to your church. I'm like, I don't know if our pastor's going to want him at our church, but whatever. And so finally the police left and he's out there trying to figure out how to put his tire back in, you know. And the whole time he's doing that, I just told my coworker, yo, man, might as well, he's still here. Try to go get that guy saved. So he's like, yeah, no problem. That makes sense. He goes over there and he's like, yo, man, hey, my name is such and such. I just want to invite you to the church. Here's an invitation. And the guy takes the invitation and he's like, do you go to church anywhere? He's like, no, I'm good, man. God is kind of mad at me right now. That's what the guy said. He said, well, why is that? He's like, well, you know, I'm good with God. We're good. Yeah, we're good. He just tried to steal my stuff. You know, not just that. The guy said he was stealing it for drugs and he was a total mess, but here's the thing. He didn't believe that hell was so bad. He wasn't too concerned about hell. To him, his hell was not the hell of the Bible. And if he obviously would realize how bad hell is, and we'll take a look at how bad hell is in a second, I don't think he will be taking us kind of lightly as we're trying to tell him, look, more important, yeah, you screwed up. Yeah, God may be mad with you, but more important than that, you know, God doesn't want you to go to hell, but the guy just didn't want to hear it. And I guarantee you it's because he doesn't know the realities of hell. And that's the thing about teaching people about hell, preaching about hell, warning people about hell, even if they don't believe it, by us telling them, God's word is so powerful it's going to affect them. And here's how bad hell is. Go ahead and look at Mark 943. And I use this every single time when I come across people and I ask them, do you believe hell is real? And if they give me the right answer, I move on. If they say, well, I'm not too sure, I'm like, let me quickly show you what hell is about. And I show them Mark 943, which says this, and if the hand offended, cut it off, it is better for thee to enter into life maimed than having two hands to go into hell. To go into hell, I'm sorry, let me read it again. And if the hand offended, cut it off, it is better for thee to enter into life maimed than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched, where the worm's eye is not and the fire's not quenched. And if the foot offended, cut it off, it is better for thee to enter a hole into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched, where the worm's eye is not and the fire is not quenched. And if the eye offended, pluck it out. It is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God one night, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire, where the worm's eye is not and the fire's not quenched. For everyone shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt. Now just reading that, it sounds bad. But the reason I like showing this to people that are not sure what hell is, it's because it shows them how bad hell really is, and it's in this manner. I just simply show the individual, look, it says clearly here that if you're hand offended, cut it off, it's better for you to enter into life maimed than having two hands to go into, and I make the person read it hell, and I tell them hell into the what, and they read it fire. Says the same thing in verse 44, says the same thing in verse 45, then it says the same thing in verse 46, keeps mentioning fire. And I just stop them and tell them, look, you see the word hell three times in this section, but what do you see more than hell? You see the word fire seven times in this section. So I just explained to them, it's like, do you understand that hell is fire? And a lot of people say, yeah, I see it, but they still don't believe it. I'm like, okay, that's totally fine. Because the main thing I want to show them is that it does say that it's fire. Whether they want to go with it or not, that's fine. And I remind the person that Christ is not telling us to cut off our head and cut off our foot and take out our own eye in order to make it into heaven. But what I see here is that if you have to, what the story is teaching us, if you have to do those things, it won't be worth it because hell is more painful than somebody cutting off your hand, than somebody cutting off your foot. And I often use this also when it's like, look, look how bad hell is. And I usually tell people, look, if I had to cut off my hand and my foot, I honestly believe I would do it. It would hurt and it would hurt like crazy. And I hope I pass out as soon as I chop off my hand and my foot. If I had to do that, you know, if God would say, if you want to enter heaven and escape the flames of hell for all eternity, you got to cut off your hand or cut off your foot. I'm just saying, if I have to, I think I would do it. This is a simple, boom, give me the ax, whack, you know, and then I'll scream and pass out. I can see me doing that. Even putting my foot up here, give me the ax. I think I could chop that thing off and like, all right, man, all three, bam, I think I could do it. But one thing that I don't believe I can do at all, even the thought of doing it, I don't think I can pluck out my own eye. With my fingers or a spoon or a knife, the thought of it almost makes me faint, just to be honest with you. Because think about how painful will be to get your eye plucked out. But yet God said, if you had to do it, it will be worth it. Because hell is way more painful. And usually with the little kids, I'm like, you understand? Yeah, I understand. Do you believe in hell now? I believe in hell now. Because it's the little kids when I run into, they're not sure what hell is. And when I show them this, they believe it. Then I quickly tell them, but if God loves you, then he wants you to go to hell. It's like, no. So why, why should we preach on hell? Because it horrifies people. And what does that do? It gets them to the point where you can get them saved. And we'll get into that in a second. You know, but when it comes to how painful is hell? Obviously, I think that's enough right there where if, hey, if your eye offends you pluck it out, it's better for you to enter to the kingdom of God. One eye that I have two eyes to be cast into hell fire. That'll be enough if you explain it correctly. But here's another verse Malachi chapter number four, you guys can go to revelations 2010. Go to revelations 2010. I'm just going to read Malachi four. This is one of the verses that I opt and use to keep me motivated when I'm knocking doors. But it's another verse that I show people just to bring it to their attention and show them how horrific hell is. It says in Malachi chapter number four, verse one, it says, for behold that they cometh, they shall burn as an oven. Burn as an oven. The ladies may realize, you know, you know, this verse is talking about something painful, because I've never been burned by an oven as far as I can remember, but I've gotten close to ovens where I have to like step away really bad. You know, I remember this, this oven where they were cooking pizzas and man, it was hot. As soon as they opened that thing, I couldn't even stand there. It just came out and I just moved away. And just the thought of somebody burning as an oven, to me, it's just like, whoa, that is painful. And when I see this, that they shall come in that burn as an oven and all the proud gay and all the dew wiggly shall be stubble and the day that cometh shall burn them up. Just that thought of being burned up, like somebody throwing you in an oven. It's enough to just say, whoa, I don't want anything to do with that. That scares me. But revelation 2010, I mean, if it was something where you just burn really quickly and I said, all right, maybe hell wouldn't be so bad. But when it says in revelation 2010 and the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and a false prophet are, here's the verse that just scares me. It shall be tormented day and night forever and ever. Now we're never going to burn day and night forever and ever. We're safe. Safe from what? Safe from hell. We're justified. We're not going to fall into condemnation, but I don't want my mom to burn in hell. I don't want my, my unsafe family to burn in hell. You know, my nieces and nephews. I don't want them to burn in hell. I don't want my neighbors to burn in hell. You know, this horrifies me enough to want to do something about it. You know, so preaching about hell guys, remember it's forever. It's hot like an oven. It's more painful to get your eye plucked out. That should be enough to get you started. As far as like, you know what I need to do something about my friends and family, neighbors, coworkers, whoever, even the Uber driver, try to do my best to get them safe. You know, but that's one thing about preaching on hell. It's going to horrify people. And that's a good thing because the fear of the Lord helps people to repent. It's the goodness of God that leads us towards repentance. And when we see how good God is, we'll see in a second, how he went to hell to pay for our sins. You know, that's a good thing. So the first thing about preaching about hell, you know, is that it's going to horrify people. And that is a good thing. Another thing is that it's going to help us out. It's going to help us out in a couple of ways. One way is going to help us to get people safe because those verses are powerful. Many times when people are on the fence where they're like, I'm not sure. I'm not too sure what hell is. Because I ask them all the time, you believe in hell? You believe hell is real? Yes I do. What do you believe hell is? Well, I believe it's fire. You know, and not just simply asking me, if somebody goes to hell, can they ever get out? No. You know, you're in hell, you're in hell forever. I'm like, no problem. Continue with the gospel. But other people are going to be like, I'm not too sure. Who's had that happen before? I'm not too sure. And whatever verse you use, hey, it will help them. It will help them. You know, I'll give you an example. I was knocking doors, ran into this lady and I was doing my best. You know, she believed she was a sinner, but she didn't believe she deserved hell. And I told her, look, the Bible says that God committed his love towards us, even though, you know, well, I'm sorry, I messed it up. But God committed his love towards us that while we were a sinner, says Christ died for us. What it's talking about is that he died. He was dead. But this is the second death. Explain the second death, Revelation 21, 8, all the way down. Explain the whole thing. She kept saying, well, I believe it's fire, but I don't think I deserve hell. And I'm thinking, man, what verse could I use to help her out? And for some reason, it just came to me, try Acts 16, or try Acts 2 31. 2 31 ended up doing it. So if you have your Bible, just go to Acts 2 31, go to Acts 2 31. I used that one, but ended up using another one. But Mark 9 47 was another one that I used on this lady. And it's the verse that we just read. And if the eye offended, pluck it out. It is better for me to enter into the kingdom of God, one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire. I explained to her what this verse meant. I explained to her, this is just trying to teach us that we do have something to look forward to. We have the kingdom of God. When a person dies to go one or two places, they either go to the kingdom of God or they go to the other place. The other place is hell fire to do my best to show her and explain to her how bad hell is, not to gamble with it. And she keeps saying, no, I don't believe I deserve hell until I read them in Acts 2 31. It says this, he's seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ that his soul was not left in. And I had the lady read it. What's it say right there? And the lady read it and she said, hell. It says, now I did this place to see corruption. It's like, who is this talking about? It's talking about Christ, the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell. And as soon as I showed her that, she said, you know what? I've never seen that. That's what she says. I've never seen that. I didn't even know that. He said, well, that's what it means that he tasted death. Death is a second death. He's tasted hell for us. So we don't have to, you know, he's paying the punishment that we deserve. And if Christ went to hell who didn't deserve it, who are we? And at that point, here's what she said. You know what? I believe it now. I do deserve hell. So preaching on hell helps us to also get people safe, helps us to horrify them, the ones that need it. And the other ones that obviously understand how horrific hell is, make them understand that they deserve it. And this verse just like, I didn't even have to fight her. I'm like, why didn't I turn to this 10 minutes earlier? Because she literally said, I believe it now. She's like, do you understand that we all deserve it? Yup, I get it now. If he went, who am I? That's literally what she said. And I said, well, look, if God loves you, do you think he wants to go there? No. Continue with the gospel. Lady ended up getting saved. But after going through Mark 9, going through other, even Matthew 25 says, it's everlasting power, prepare for them as angels. It wasn't even doing anything. It was just like, okay, I get it. I believe it's fire. You know, but that's what ended up happening. Thank you. Don't worry, guys. I don't got the corona. So that's what ended up happening with this lady. And so I'm thinking, man, you know, it's like, I guess they preached to her about hell, but somehow fell the part that, hey, this is the punch we deserve. Christ suffered in hell. And they don't need to know that. They don't need to be convinced of that in the sense where, you know, that's part of your gospel. But they do need to believe that, hey, they deserve hell. I mean, what are you getting saved from? You know, you're getting saved from the flames of hell. But that's what hell does when you preach it. It helps us to get people safe and it helps you to stay motivated to get people saved. What do I mean by that? You know, go to Luke 16, go to Luke 16, and I'll just read again from Malachi chapter number four. Like I said, this verse has helped me a lot. Just remembering this verse as much as I can and almost having it as an answer. If somebody were to ask me, why are you knocking doors? Why are you doing this? You know, why are you ringing doorbells and giving invitations? You know, if I were to just say something like this, because I don't want people to burn us an oven. If they're saying, what do you mean? Well, I'll show you Malachi, behold the day cometh that you'll burn us an oven. I don't want my friends to burn us an oven. I don't want you to burn us an oven. I do this because I care. And this is a verse that I use. And it's a verse that's talking about hell. It's literally talking about, hey, they're going to be burned up. I don't want them to be burned up. But Luke 16, it's another one that will help keep you motivated. And we'll start in verse number 23. You're there in Luke 16. We'll go to verse 23 says, and in hell, he lifted up his eyes, being in torments to see his Abraham afar off and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, father Abraham have mercy on me. He said, Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue for I'm tormented in this flame, tormented in this flame. But Abraham says, son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receiveth thy good things. And likewise Lazarus evil things, but now he is comforted in thou are tormented. And beside all this between us and you, there's a great golf fixed so that day, which will pass from hands to you cannot, neither can they pass to us that will come from dance. Then he said, I pray thee therefore father that thou would have sent him to my father's house for I have five brethren that he may testify to him lest they also come in this place of torment. But I don't know about you, but that fires me up every single time that helps me to stay motivated when out there, knocking doors, getting rejected door after door. People have been yelling at us. You know, I just recently got yelled at by an old man. He didn't even give us a chance. We just knocked on the door. He came out. I don't know if he was just panicking because it looks super nervous. And he literally just saw us. It's like, Hey, we just want to invite you to church. Get off my property, get the heck off my property. And he's like walking back, like, whoa, I just stay quiet. And I'm with my so many partners, like, man, what's up with that? You know, it's like, he's, he's a perfect person. That's probably going to die from the Corona. If he gets it. He looked like he was 70 or 80 fragile, but man, he just started yelling at us. I don't know why I can only imagine. But when I thought of it, I'm like, man, I felt bad for that guy. It's like, man. And even my partner's like, man, I hope this isn't his last chance. He's like, I hope this isn't the one that just makes God say, forget, you're done enough. It's like, cause even though he was mean to us, you know, just remembering this just makes me say, man, I really hope that he's not just condemning himself permanently. I really hope that I do not want him to burn. Don't want him to burn us an oven. But I mean, how many times do you see in Luke 16, tormented, tormented? He says, Hey, I have five brethren, go testify to them. People in hell. I've heard him many times from the pulpit. People in hell want you to go. It's not just your pastor. People in hell, go to my brother, go warn him, go to my sister. I'm pretty sure they're just like, send somebody, have mercy, send them all. And you know what? We just got to go. We just got to go. And hell just, when I read about hell, it just helps me to get people saved by warning them, by scaring them. If I need to get them to get saved, you know, by obviously reminding me, hey, this is their faith. You know, it's like, do not care that this is where they're going, that they're going to go there. You know, let it not be, you know, that they went there without a fight. You know, let's do something about it. And also number one, it horrifies people. And that's a good thing. The fear of the Lord comes to people to turn from sin and also to seek the Lord as well. I mean, why did I want to listen when they asked me, hey, can I show you what the Bible says? Because I didn't want to go to hell. I'm not sure about you, why you listened when they were giving you the gospel or why you clicked on that video, how to get saved. But I didn't want to go to hell. I didn't want to burn in hell forever. You know, I had ears to hear. Why? Because I firmly believed in it. And these, these false prophets that you saw, Joel, and the rest of them, Steven Furtick, none of them are preaching on hell because in reality, they don't care. They could care less. It's not popular at all. You know, it's easier to just say, yeah, God loves you than to say, hey, God's going to send you to hell if you don't get saved and he loves you. You know, it's very difficult to do that, you know, but the last, the last thing too, in regards to why should you preach on hell? For pastors, it's like, hey, preach on hell because it's going to horrify people. That's a great thing. You know, it's going to help you. It's going to help you to get people saved. It's going to help you to stay motivated to get people saved. But the other thing is reason number three is that it does humble us. If you have your Bible, you know, if you can make it a Mark 947, you know, Mark 947, you go back there. Mark 947 is a very humbling verse. If you let it humble you, it will humble you. If you have ears to hear, hey, you'll see, you'll hear exactly what Christ is teaching in this chapter. And if you happen to be there, great. If not, I'm going to just start reading. Mark 943, it says, in it's eye of Finney, pluck it out. It is bed for you into the kingdom of God. And I often tell people that it's like, look, this is one of the two places you're going to go. You're either going to go to the kingdom of God or you're going to go to hellfire. But when I read the kingdom of God, it's almost like you got all this bad stuff about hell and then you see this and that kind of just gives you a little, you know, breath or a little bit of fresh air. Because I'm the kind of guy that when I see that, it's kind of like, whoa, I'm going to be there. When I see that, it's like, man, what did I do to deserve God to send somebody my way and ask me, do I know for sure if I'm going to heaven? You know, it's like, who am I with the billions of people that are unsaved? And it's like, we're saved. We're not pretending that we're saved. We're not wondering if we're saved. We're not wondering what's going to happen when we die. We know what's going to happen. We're going to be in the kingdom. We're not going to be in hellfire. And that's enough to just remind me, hey, no matter how bad it gets, you got it good. You're saved. You're going to heaven. You should be happy. And in Psalm 16, you can go to Luke 10, please. If you got your Bibles, go to Luke 10. I'm going to try to finish in the next 10 minutes. Go to Luke chapter number 10. But think about this. I'm just going to read from Psalm 16 that says this, verse 11, thou wilt shew me the path of life, and in thy presence is fullness of joy. And that's what we're going to be in the presence of God. Fullness of joy, not for a little bit, says that in thy right hand, there are pleasures forevermore. Just think about people that are going to hell. They're never going to get out. Never. Us that are saved, it's like, look, no matter how ugly it gets, let's not forget, we're going to have joy forevermore. And the Christian life is not easy. I'm not here saying the Christian life is easy. It's not easy. If it was easy, this verse wouldn't be in the Bible in their harness as a good soldier, Jesus Christ. That wouldn't be there, but it's going to be worth it. It's going to be worth it when it explains, look, the surface of this life are nowhere to compare to the things that God has for those that love him. But if you're in Luke 10, let's just remind ourselves why we should just be rejoicing, why we should be humble people. It says in thou, Capernaum, which are assaulted in heaven, shall be thrust down to hell. He that heareth you, heareth me, and he that despises you, despises me, and he that despises me, despises him that sent me. And at 70 return again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not that the spirits are subject unto you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven. In other words, hey, be grateful you're not going to go to hell. Read about how bad hell is, but always remember, you're not going to go there. And you are very fortunate to be saved. I don't know why, like I still don't know. I wish I could say, God, why? You know, you allowed it to work out perfectly. You know, because that pastor could have been anywhere that day. But I happened to be there. He happened to be there and happened to have enough compassion for me to just get out of his office. Think about it. Seeing me in his parking lot, getting out of his office, walking, grabbing his Bible, walking across the parking lot to go check and see whether I'm interested or not. He had enough faith to say, hey, I'm going to go try. And I'm thinking, man, and like I always tell people, hey, the greatest day of your life, the day you got saved. Let's just face it. If they ever ask you that question, be ready for it. You know, that question came to me one time in the police academy. I don't know if I spoke about this. One day I asked the police academy to stand up and tell us what the greatest day of our life is. And I got up and my courage went. And instead of saying the day I got saved, oh, the day I graduated boot camp in the Marines. Because I got scared and, you know, I wasn't humbled to appreciate what I had and what a great opportunity to just tell people the day I got saved. Ha! What is that? What is that, cadet? That's when I got saved. I was on board again, you know. Blew it, but it's coming. But here's something funny. Our assistant pastor also ended up going to that academy and he screwed up too. I was a new believer. I didn't know the Bible that well. All right. But he had been a college student or a high school student in the Christian school, graduated from a Christian college, from a Bible college, had been an assistant pastor for a little under three years. And yet he didn't have the guts to say it's the greatest day. And I remember I ended up grabbing, it's like, hey, hey, have you done this yet? Have they asked you to stand up and tell people, you know, the greatest day? And he's like, yeah, they actually, yeah, they already did that. And I told him, tell me you told him it was the day you got saved. Tell me you witnessed the entire class. And he said, no, I did not. I said it was the day my child was born. And then the next day or a little bit after that, he comes up to me, he's like, thanks a lot, man. I have not been able to feel better since you told me that, you know. He's like, thanks for making me feel so guilty as it left my mind. But I'm just warning you guys, kids, you guys, it's coming, you know. Ever get that opportunity in front of your class and I don't know if any of you guys go to college or your work or whatever, it ever comes up. What, you know, tell us about yourself, your name, where you're from, and the greatest day of your life. Be ready. That's a great opportunity to tell the whole class what's up, you know. But what do we see here? Christ saying, hey, rejoice, rejoice, rejoice. Rejoice because your name is written in heaven. Translation, rejoice because you're not going to hell. You're not going to burn there. You know, be grateful. It's like many are going to go there. You guys are not going to be them at all. And I'll finish it with this. First Corinthians chapter number 15 says, behold, I'll show you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed in a moment in the twinkling of an eye at the last trump. For the trumpet shall sound and this shall be raised incorruptible and we shall be changed. For this incorruptible must put on incorruption and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption and this mortal shall put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that it is read in death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is that sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding the work of the Lord for as much as you know that your labor is not in, in vain in the Lord. In other words, keep telling people that death is swallowed up in victory. Keep telling people, O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is that victory? In other words, keep telling people that there's a hell, death is real. It's a, it's a fire. It's an, it's like an oven, you know, but we don't worry about it as Christians and you don't have to either. If you put your faith in the Lord, it will not be in vain. The day that God will come to burn up, guess what? You will not burn up with them. And the fact that we are never going to burn up shall be enough to just be grateful to God every single day. He humble and just say, Lord, thank you. I just, I don't know. I mean, I can't thank you enough for the fact that I got, I am saved. You sent somebody to witness to me. And hell is one of those things that humbles me when I read it in the Bible, like, man, hell is so wicked. I mean, hell is so bad. I'm not going to be there, man. I need to praise God every single day. You know, but that's the thing about preaching on hell. You know, it will horrify people, but that is not a bad thing. And don't forget, it will help you. You know, when you're out there and you're like, I don't know if I should tell this person that they're going to burn in hell or not. It's like, look, I know it's hard, but bottom line is the person says, well, I believe you have to be a good person. Well, the Bible says different. You know, the Bible says you need to believe and to trust the gospel. The gospel is that eternal life is a gift, you know, not a reward. And if you think you have to live a good life, you're saying it's a, it's a reward, something you have to earn, but it's a flat out 100% gift. And in fact, Romans five, it says free gift, like three times so we can get it. It's a free gift, free gift, free gift. And if you don't believe that, sir, you will burn in hell. And there's more painful than chopping up your foot, chopping up your head, plucking at your eyeball, more painful than somebody throwing you in the oven. And that's why I'm knocking doors. Why are you knocking doors? Cause I don't want you to burn like an oven. Why are you here? Why are you guys here? What do you guys want? Well, we don't want you to burn like an oven. That's why we're here. Well, what do you mean? Hey, we want you to go to heaven. You know, you're not sure to go into heaven. How about hell? Do you even know what hell is? Do you believe in hell? I don't believe in hell. Can I show what the Bible says? I'm not interested. That's not your fault. But for the people that are interested, I'm glad the pastor told me, Hey, you know what? You deserve to go to hell. That's what my pastor told me. I'm like, yeah, I know. I believe that. I was like, how am I going to say? Yeah, I believe that. You know, it's like, Yay, this is what the Bible says. We all deserve hell. You deserve hell. I'm like, yeah, I believe that. You believe it's fire. I believe it's fire. I don't know how the Catholic church ended up, you know, at least not messing that up, you know, but they taught me that it's hell, it's fire, it's forever, you know, but that you have to do more good than bad. That's where they come. They're trying to condemn my soul. You have to do more good than bad. You have to keep the commandments, the works and whatever, but praise the Lord. It's all by faith alone. Amen. So when it comes down to it, if you ever get to the point where it's your turn to preach, you know, and you haven't preached on hell in a while, and you're like, man, I don't know. Just remember those three reasons. Hey, it's going to scare people, you know, and it'll scare them to get saved. Hey, it's going to help you. It's going to help you to get them saved. It's going to help you to stay humble as well. So preaching to your people. I hope you guys have realized how good we have it. Amen. Walk out of here a little bit more humble than when you walked in. We're not going to see hell. We should be super excited about it. At least if something bad happens, somebody gives, God forbid, somebody gives to the car accident in this rain and things don't go well. Things don't go your way. Hey, I don't care. I'm going to be in the joy and the Lord of joy forevermore. We're all going to see heaven. We're all going to be there not for a thousand years, but for all eternity. And I mean, unfortunately, there's a lot of people are going to go to hell, but we're going to do our best to save them from the pit of hell. Amen. Let's pray. Dear father, thank you for everything that you've done, Lord. Just help me to just live life according to your will. And Lord, I thank you for this opportunity and father, it is what it is. Help us to just remember hell. Remember that hell is a horrible place, Lord. It's an eternal place of fire. And not just that father, we don't want our family, friends, neighbors, coworkers to go there. So help us to get them saved and help us to remain humble and to realize that our names are in heaven, Lord, regardless of how good or how nice we may have it down here. Help us to always rejoice because the names are written in heaven and we ask you to do all this for your honor and glory in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen.
