It is the 5th Sunday Fellowship, so it's crowd pick hymns for tonight, we're going to go left to right each section, Alex, you got a pick? I don't know that one. Anyone else got a pick? Do you have another pick that you got? Do you know what the number is? I'm not balanced, is that what you said? 169? Yep. Alright, hymn number 169, yeah turn your hymnals to hymn number 169, Come Thou Fount, we'll start there right on the first. Come Thou Fount of every blessing, tune my heart to sing Thy grace. Dreams of mercy never cease, call for songs of loudest praise, teach me some melodious sonnet, sung by flaming tongues above, praise the mount I fixed upon it, mount of thy redeeming love, here I praise my Ebenezer, bither by Thy help I come, and I know by Thy good pleasure, safely I'll arrive at home. Jesus sought me when a stranger, wandering from the fold of God, came to rescue me from danger, interposed his precious blood, oh to grace how great a debtor, daily I'm constrained to be, let Thy goodness, like a feather, bind my wandering heart to Thee, prone to wonder, Lord I feel it, prone to leave the God I love, here's my heart, oh take and seal it, seal it for Thy courts above. We sing and we'll open with the word of prayer, your father thank you for the church and thank you for the opportunity to gather together tonight, I thank you also Lord for the leadership that you've given us in Evangelist Fur and I pray that you would bless him in the work that you have for him in Texas Lord and his future, and I pray that you just bless the remainder of the service at this time Lord, in Jesus name I pray, Amen. For our next hymn we'll go to the next section, do we have any takers on this section? Alright if we have anything, you guys see in the back, 176, alright, Jesus Loves His Little Children, hymn number 176, it is a short one, we'll go ahead and sing it twice, hymn number 176, we'll start that right on the first, Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world, red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in His sight, Jesus loves the little children of the world, Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world, red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in His sight, Jesus loves the little children of the world. Good evening everyone, welcome to Steadfast Baptist Church, we'll go through our announcements this evening, on the front is our Bible memory passage of the week, Hebrews chapter 6 verse 8, keep Christ with that ministry, so great job on that, nursing home ministry schedule is listed there if you are participating in that, our year to date stats, this was before the soul winning today, but as you can see, definitely has been a great month for soul winning here in Oklahoma City, please be in prayer for our expecting ladies, Miss Whitney Reed, due in April, now today it was a little bit of a curve ball thrown at us, Pastor Shelley wasn't able to make it, but he is going to be coming in two weeks, we're really looking forward to having him for that, and tonight the time has finally come, the bittersweet moment of saying see you later to the Furr family, I think they're leaving for Texas tomorrow, wow that's pretty crazy, but we're very excited for them, we wish them the best and again we thank them for their service here, it's not easy running a church, and this, I mean a tree is known by its fruit, this is a great church, there's great people here, and it goes to show the leadership that has been here, so you know you're going to do a very fun job, I did it for many years and I loved it, so I'm excited for you, that's going to be really awesome, so it's a very rewarding job for sure, and tonight we're going to have a sermon, but you know there's going to be also some food, so okay I'm glad you came, it's going to be great, we're going to have Mexican food catered to us, and there's going to be a ton, so it's going to be a good night, have some good old Baptist fellowship, some games, hanging out, having a good time together, we're really excited for this evening, so you know God bless you, Brother Tanner and Miss Emily and the children there, thank you for everything you do, go ahead and give the Fur family a round of applause, thank you guys, all right we're going to go ahead and go to our third song, all right we'll move on to the middle section, Miss Rhea, 245, yeah we can do that one, hymn number 245, the old account was settled, hymn number 245, we'll start that right on the first, there was a time on earth when in the book of heaven, an old account was standing for sins yet unforgiven, my name was at the top and many things below, I went unto the keeper and settled long ago, long ago, long ago, yes the old account was settled long ago, and the record's clear today for he washed my sins away, when the old account was settled long ago, the old account was hard and growing every day, for I was always singing and never tried to play, but when I looked ahead and saw such pain and woe, I said that I was settled, I settled long ago, long ago, long ago, yes the old account was settled long ago, hallelujah, and the record's clear today for he washed my sins away, when the old account was settled long ago, living in their happy home, my savior's home above, I'll sing redemption story and praise him for his love, I'll not forget that book with pages wide as snow, because I came and settled, I settled long ago, long ago, long ago, yes the old account was settled long ago, and the record's clear today for he washed my sins away, when the old account was settled long ago, oh sinner trust the lord, be cleansed of all your sins, for thus he hath provided for you to enter in, and then if you should live a hundred years below, up there you'll not regret it, you settled long ago, long ago, long ago, yes the old account was settled long ago, and the record's clear today for he washed my sins away, when the old account was settled long ago, good singing as the offering plates are being passed around turning your bibles to john chapter number three, john chapter number three. so so john chapter number three verse number one the bible reads there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus a ruler of the jews the same came to jesus by night and said unto him rabbi know that thou art a teacher come from god for no man can do these miracles that thou doest except god be with him jesus answered and said unto him verily verily i say unto thee except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of god nicodemus saith unto him how can a man be born when he is old can he enter the second time into his mother's womb and be born jesus answered verily verily i say unto thee except a man be born of water and of the spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of god that which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the spirit is spirit marvel not that i said unto thee ye must be born again the wind bloweth where it listeth and thou hearest the sound thereof but canst not tell whence it cometh and whither it goeth so is everyone that is born of the spirit nicodemus answered and said unto him how can these things be jesus answered and said unto him art thou a master of israel and knowest not these things verily i stand to thee we speak that we do know and testify that we have seen and ye receive not our witness if i have told you earthly things and ye believe not how shall ye believe if i tell you of heavenly things and no man hath ascended up to heaven but he that came down from heaven even the son of man which is in heaven and as moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness even so must the son of man be lifted up that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have eternal life for god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life for god sent not his son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through him might be saved he that believeth on him is not condemned but he that believeth not is condemned already because he have not believed in the name of the only begotten son of god and this is the condemnation that light is come into the world and men love darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil for everyone that doeth evil hateth the light neither cometh to the light lest his deeds should be reproved but he that do a truth cometh to the light that his deeds may be made manifest that they are wrought in god and after these things came jesus and his disciples into the land of judaea and there he tarried with them and baptized and john also was baptizing an anon near to salem because there was much water there and they came and were baptized for john was not yet cast into prison then there arose a question between some of john's disciples and the jews about purifying and they came unto john and said unto him rabbi he that was with thee beyond jordan to whom thou barest witness behold the same baptizeth and all men come to him john answered and said a man can receive nothing except to be given him from heaven ye yourselves bear me witness that i said i am not the christ but that i am sent before him he that hath the bride is the bridegroom but the friend of the bridegroom which standeth and heareth him rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice this my joy therefore is fulfilled he must increase but i must decrease he that cometh from above is above all he that is of the earth is earthly and speaketh of the earth he that cometh from heaven is above all and what he hath seen and heard that he testifieth and no man receiveth his testimony he that hath received his testimony hath set to his heel that god is true for he whom god hath sent speaketh the words of god for god giveth not the spirit by men by measure unto him the father loveth the son and hath given all things into his hand he that believeth on the son hath everlasting life and he that believeth not the son shall not see life but the wrath of god abideth on him let's pray heavenly father lord we just pray that you would bless this service god i pray that you would fill uh brother oz with the holy spirit helping to preach your message the message you've laid on this heart i pray that we would all be attentive and keep distractions pray these things in your son's name amen amen all right well let's start reading in john 3 let's read in verse number 16 it says for god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life now this is probably the second most famous verse in the whole bible because in our day and age the most famous verse in the bible is matthew 7-1 judge not that you be not judged but you know throughout most of history and throughout most of the world what we just read is the most famous verse in the bible and you know every once in a while it's great to just go to some of the most beautiful powerful scriptures in the bible and remind ourselves of the truth and power and greatness of these verses and so tonight i want to preach a sermon to you called lessons from 316 lessons from john 316 number one the first lesson that we garner from this great verse is that salvation is by faith alone in jesus christ keep your finger here throughout the sermon let's read uh john 316 again it says for god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life do you really think it's any coincidence that the most well-known verse throughout all of human history is about what it takes for a man to get saved why because god is not willing that any should perish right god wants people to go to heaven god wants people to be saved so when he gave us the most famous verse in human history it shall it tells us that we have to do what to be saved believe in jesus christ believe in jesus christ and of course what does it mean to believe elsewhere we learn that believing simply means trust it does not mean that you just believe that jesus exists that is a straw man that enemies of the gospel like to use against churches like us well they'll say well you're saying you just have to believe jesus exists to be saved no that's not what we're saying what we're saying of course yeah you have to believe that jesus exists duh but on top of that you have to put your trust in what he did for you on the cross and you're trusting his works on the cross for your salvation not the things that you do why because whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life go to john chapter number 20 and let's just take a walk through the book of john this evening because the book of john hammers this idea of salvation being by faith in jesus christ in john 20 verse 31 the bible says but these are written that you might believe that jesus is the christ the son of god and that believing you might have life through his name so why is it that the book of john was written it was written so that people will believe in jesus well why is that important because believing in jesus will cause you to have life through his name and of course that's talking about spiritual life that's talking about having eternal life being saved being born again go to john chapter three back to john chapter number three and you would think like the repent of your sins false gospel teachers out there that teach that oh the bible teaches that you have to repent of your sins to be saved well you would think that a book that's written about how to get saved would say somewhere in the book that you have to repent of your sins to get saved yet nowhere in the entire book of john is the word repent ever used you know what it's talking about all the time believe believe believe believe look at john three verse 15 it says that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have eternal life for god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life for meaning because god sent not his son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through him might be saved he that believeth on him is not condemned but he that believeth not is condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten son of god notice how it says in verse 17 that the world through him might be saved you know what i find very interesting becoming a soul winner and talking to people all the time about salvation is that the bible says that god gave us his son so that the world through him might be saved yet when you ask the average religious person today in this world if you were to die today are you 100 sure that you're going to heaven they'll say yes and you say okay do you mind if i ask you what do you think it takes for someone to get to heaven and the name jesus doesn't even come out of their mouth half the time it's of course i'm going to heaven because i go to church i live a good life i don't murder i don't steal i've repented of my sins where is jesus in that equation no the world is supposed to be saved through jesus yet most of the world today thinks they're going to be saved through themselves that's who they're trusting and ultimately to save them and look there's really two philosophies in the world when it comes to salvation one is that of faith alone in jesus christ and the other is that of works and look you could put islam in the works category you could put catholicism in the works mormonism repenting your sins baptists pentecostals they all teach the same thing it's repent of your sins it's your merit it's your good life it's your testimony whereas the bible says that we're saved the world saved through who through jesus christ go to john chapter 3 verse 36 it says here in verse 36 he that believeth on the sun hath everlasting life what is the qualification for obtaining everlasting life in the bible it's believing on the son of god and he that believeth not the son shall not see life but the wrath of god abideth on him so according to the bible someone that is unsaved someone that is in a state where they've not believed in jesus christ the bible says that god's wrath is abiding on that person why because if they die in that state they will spend eternity in a literal hell and you know that's one of the things that great verses like john 3 16 reminds us of is that we can be saved through faith in jesus christ go to john 7 john 7 flip the page it says in john 7 verse 37 in the last day that great day of the feast jesus stood and cried saying if any man thirst let him come unto me and drink he that believeth on me as the scripture hath said out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water invert oops i went to the wrong page here rivers of living water verse 39 but this he spake of the spirit which they that believe on him should receive for the holy ghost was not yet given because that jesus was not yet glorified so here jesus says something that would seem pretty cryptic to a lot of people he says that if you believe in him out of your bellies shall flow living water but what that's taught rivers of living water what that's talking about is the gift of the holy spirit because in the old testament when men had the holy spirit it was the holy spirit coming upon them for a short amount of time to enable them to do some work for god to enable them to preach the word of god you know we have a great blessing in the new testament where we're actually sealed with the holy spirit of god until the day of redemption and that is a benefit that is a blessing that we have in the new testament that not everyone in history has had but notice how is it obtained how is it that you get rivers of of water flowing out of your belly it's by believing in jesus christ it's by believing in him john 16 john chapter number 16 he gives this promise of the holy ghost in john 16 verse 12 jesus said i have yet many things to say of you but you cannot bear them now how be it when he the spirit of truth is come he will guide you into all truth so notice when we believe in jesus christ when we get saved we get this promise of the holy ghost coming to dwell with us and that he will guide us into all truth by the way don't forget that the holy spirit is a person why because he says he he has a personal pronoun there why because god is three persons the lord jesus christ god the father and the holy spirit the holy spirit is not just some mystical force he's not just wind he's not something that you feel he is a person of the godhead which is why jesus refers to him as he when he the spirit of truth has come he will guide you into all truth for he shall not speak of himself but whatsoever he shall hear that shall he speak and he will show you things to come he shall glorify me for he shall receive of mine and show it unto you all things that the father hath are mine therefore said i that he shall take of mine and shall show it unto you a little while and ye shall not see me and again a little while and ye shall see me because i go to the father go to john chapter number 20 so here he's explaining them that when he leaves the holy spirit's going to come the comforter is going to come he's going to guide us into all truth and we're going to see the lord jesus christ fulfill this promise in john 20 verse 19 it says then the same day at evening being the first day of the week when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the jews came jesus and stood in the midst and saith unto them peace be unto you and when he had so said he showed unto them his hands and his side then were the disciples glad when they saw the lord then said jesus to them again peace be unto you as my father hath sent me even so sent i you and when he had said this he breathed on them and saith unto them receive ye the holy ghost whosoever's whosoever sins ye remit they are remitted unto them and whosoever sins you retain they are retained go to ephesians chapter number one ephesians chapter one so here you had in john 16 jesus promising that if you believe in him you're going to have the gift of the holy ghost he's going to guide us into all truth then in john 20 he breathes on them tells them that they received the holy ghost and now today we have the great blessing that every single person that gets saved now is immediately indwelled with the holy spirit let me show you that in the bible ephesians 1 12 it says this that we should be to the praise of his glory who first trusted in christ in whom also ye trusted after that ye heard the work of truth the gospel of your salvation so notice what does it mean to believe in jesus christ well watch this it says in whom also after that ye believed you were sealed with that holy spirit of promise which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession unto the praise of his glory so notice a couple things in this verse number one the bible defines what it means to believe in jesus christ it says that it's in whom you trusted right so what it means to believe in jesus christ is hey you grew up in some false religion or you didn't grow up in church at all and you may think in your mind well to get to heaven i think i just have to be a pretty good person i just think that i have to live a pretty good life right or i think that i have to follow the commandments what it means to believe in jesus christ is changing where you're placing your trust this is actually what repentance is is when you're changing from trusting in yourself to saying you know what i'm actually not that great of a person actually you know what in the sight of god my righteousness is as filthy rags i'm a sinner i deserve hell but you know what i trust or i believe that jesus christ died on the cross for all of my sins that he was buried that he went to hell to pay the punishment that i deserve and that he rose again from the dead that's what it means to trust in jesus christ that's what it means to believe in him and once we believe in him what do we receive we receive a seal we're sealed with that holy spirit of promise and notice how long it is that we receive this ceiling it says until the redemption of the purchase possession you know what that means that means that god is going to keep you god is going to seal you until the day of redemption meaning the day that we get our glorified bodies okay this isn't a seal that could be broken like some people like to teach that oh yeah of course yeah we're sealed but you could break any seal any seal not this seal according to the bible we're sealed until the redemption of the purchased possession go to john chapter number 11 john chapter 11 look at john 11 verse 25 jesus said unto her i am the resurrection and the life he that believeth in me though he were dead yet shall he live and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die believeth thou this you know the apostle paul says in roman seven that he was alive without the law once but when the commandment came sin revived and i died and the truth is is that when we sin when we for the first time understand our sinful condition and we break god's commandments we are now a sinner you know what happened is our spirit has died but here's the thing we don't have to stay dead there's good news because jesus said in verse 25 he that believeth in me though he were dead yet shall he live and so there's only one way to be born again there's only one way for your spirit to be revived and to have life and it's through jesus christ it's not through your worthless works you know what those worthless works are those are dead works according to the bible your spirit was dead your works are dead hey you want to live you have to believe in jesus christ go to john 14 john chapter 14 the whole book of john just hammers this idea of salvation being one way only by faith in jesus christ john chapter 14 verse 6 jesus saith unto him i am the way the truth and the life no man cometh unto the father but by me so notice when it comes to salvation salvation is a very exclusive path there you know billy graham well i think that if people just follow the light that they have that they're our brothers that we're going to see them in heaven no no no no jesus is the way the truth the life there's only one person that could get you saved there's only one route of salvation and it's faith in jesus christ there's tons and tons and tons of other roads that will lead you to eternal damnation and hell and those people are picking every single day but there's one narrow path to salvation it's faith in jesus christ and you know that is the verse i love to use when you're talking to someone of a different religion you know islam or something like that and you could tell like the gospel had an impact on their heart but they're kind of just debating in their mind like well maybe both of these can be true maybe there's some good things from both i often just say like hey man look what the bible says right here john 14 6 you know salvation is actually very exclusive there is no hope in islam whatsoever if you believe in islam you will die in good health it's only in jesus christ and you say well man point one in your sermon is so boring and it's so simple well apparently it's not that simple since so many baptists today are confused about the most basic tenet of christianity that salvation is by grace that salvation is by faith alone in jesus christ say john 3 16 i mean you're preaching a sermon on john 3 16 well apparently it needs to be preached because the most famous verse in human history is not understood by the majority of churches in this world the majority of pastors in this world read john 3 16 and you ask them hey what do you have to do to be saved they'll tell you repent of all your sins come to church give me money be baptized it's like this is the most famous verse how do you not understand it so you know we need sermons like this every once in a while to remind us well this may be simple to us we take these things for granted you know it's actually a rare thing for someone to fully understand john 3 16 here's another great truth from john 3 16 and that is once you're saved you're always saved go to john 3 16 john 3 16 for god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have what everlasting life now this should just be common sense and just plain and easy logic to everyone what does everlasting mean it means that it will endure it will go on it will perpetuate forever it will have no end so the bible is saying if you believe in jesus christ what do you have life that will never end do you know what the word never means and they're like yeah yeah of course you'll have everlasting life but you can lose it you don't know what the word everlasting means everlasting it will endure forever you will have it forever if i am saved today and i have everlasting life i will have it 10 years from now i will have it 100 million years from now because it's ever lasting go to first john chapter number five first john chapter number five and you know i've heard differing views on this over the years but let me just explain where i stand on this i believe you must you must you must believe in eternal security in order to be saved if you are a person that says yeah yeah yeah salvation is by faith alone but if i commit a big sin i'll lose my salvation you're not saved no not no you didn't lose your salvation no you're just never saved why because what you're saying is that oh yeah you know salvation is not of works but i just have to keep doing good works in order to stay saved it's like what you're saying you're not even understanding what you're saying what you're teaching is work salvation if you think you could lose your salvation let me explain something to you you're teaching works salvation and it's so frustrating you know last week i was on the baptist bias and we reacted to this documentary that was supposedly exposing once saved always saved and these guys would say stuff like this it'd be like oh yeah salvation's by grace it's not of works we can't do enough good works to be saved but of course i mean you could walk away i mean of course you know god's got you in his hand but i mean you could choose to jump out of his hand and it's like wait what everlasting life or how about this we just read how the holy spirit is supposed to bear witness of the truth so i've got you're telling me i've got the holy spirit of god inside of me that's bearing witness of the truth of the gospel but i'm just gonna like stop believing the gospel it's like wait what is the holy spirit's job then it makes no sense you're not going to ever lose your salvation first john five verse 10 he that believeth on the son of god hath the witness in himself he that believeth not god have made him a liar because he believeth not the record that god gave of his son so here's the thing if you do not believe the record that god gave of his son the bible says that person's a liar the person's making god a liar verse 11 it says and this is the record that god hath given to us eternal life and this life is in his son he that hath the son hath life and he that hath not the son of god hath not life these things have i written unto you that believe on the name of the son of god that you may know man excuse me that you may know that you have what kind of life eternal life and that you may believe on the name of the son of god so notice according to the bible if you deny the record that god gave of his son you're accusing god of being a liar and what is the record that god has given to us the record is that god has given us his son and that we get eternal life through his son so if you're saying that salvation is by anyone other than the son of god well then you're lying you're calling god a liar or if you're saying that salvation is by the son but it's not eternal you're making god a liar either way because you're saying that god's record isn't true you're saying the word of god the promise of eternal life isn't true go to john chapter number one john chapter number one this is a great verse if you're new to soul winning this is a verse i highly recommend that everybody uses john 1 verse 12 says but as many as received him so whoever received jesus to them gave he power to notice become the sons of god even to them that believe on his name so the bible teaches that not everyone is born a son or a daughter of god you know i was talking to this catholic today and he brought that up you know we're all god's children he was telling me why we should love homosexuals because you know we're all god's children but hold on john 112 does not teach that we're all god's children we become god's child how by believing in jesus christ that's when we become his child now this is a great analogy to help people understand everlasting life is a lot of times i ask people out so many hey do you have any kids and most people be like yeah i do and i just ask them this question is there anything your child can do to stop being your child and 99 out of 100 times they'll be like well no of course and it's like right because they have your dna there's nothing you could ever do to stop being you know your father's child once you're a child you're always a child now here's what people just don't understand here's what a lot of you know uh unsaved christians don't understand is that you can be a child of god and still not be pleasing in god's sight right you could be a child of god and be rebellious living a wicked life but at the end of the day you're still a child and hebrews 12 tells us that the lord whom the lord loveth he chasteneth and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth right so once you become a son of god that's not to say that you could just live your life however you want and never have any consequences oh no there's consequences absolutely if you're a son of god and you disobey the commandments of god you better believe that there's consequences you know second samuel chapter number 12 david had killed uriah the hitite he had committed adultery with bathsheba and what happened his son slept with all of his wives in the sight of all of israel and his little baby was killed now did david lose his salvation no he didn't david's always going to be a son of god once you're saved you're always saved but was he punished by god severely you better believe he was and you know the the idea of once saved always saved the idea that i can never lose my salvation that doesn't cause me to go want to live a really wicked life you know because that's what we get accused of well if you can't lose your salvation you're just saying that we could go out and be wicked and live however you want and it's like well hold on is that the same logic you apply to your parents because when i was growing up i never had any doubt that i would always be my parents son i didn't think like man i messed up today i disobeyed my parents i guess i'm not their son anymore i always knew i was going to be their son but i never thought well hmm because i'm always going to be their son i'm going to purposely disobey all their rules have a terrible relationship with them you know mouth off to them be disrespectful to them who thinks like that and really it kind of is revealing a preacher's heart when they're getting up saying like well if if i could lose my salvation are you saying i could just go live however that i want it's kind of like they're saying like man that sounds nice they're they're like man i really want to go do all these really terrible things but the only thing that's keeping from me from doing it is the the threat of hell and it's like that's weird if that's your attitude the attitude you should have is like hey i love my mom and dad and so i want to obey what they say because i love them because i want to have a good relationship with them because i want them to be proud of me and and and be pleasing in their sight and it's the same thing with god i know i will never go to hell why because of don 316 that's why because i've believed in him and i know i have everlasting life but that doesn't motivate me to want to go live a wicked life if anything it makes me thankful that i'm always saved no matter what it makes me want to love him and serve him with all my life anyways so it's a weird attitude that people have john chapter number five another great verse for soul winning i often show people this verse this is usually my go-to when i ask someone if they believe they could lose their salvation this is my first verse i go to and i always say this you know jesus actually said three times in one verse that you can never lose your salvation let me show you that john 5 24 verily verily i say unto you he that heareth my word and believeth on him that sent me notice hath everlasting life so he says if you believe in me right now present tense that word hath is present tense it's saying right now you have everlasting life how long does everlasting last for we already answered it it goes on for forever but not only that he says and shall not come into condemnation so number one he says if you believe in me you have everlasting life not only that number two if you believe in me you'll never come into condemnation what's condemnation that's hell that's what condemnation is and number three look what he says but is passed from death unto life so if you believe in him you have everlasting life you'll never come into condemnation but you're passed from death unto life notice what the bible says he doesn't say someday if you live a good life someday if you're a good enough person maybe you'll pass from death unto life if you've done enough good things he says right now in this very moment you could be passed from death unto life why is that the reason why is because salvation is not a lifestyle salvation is not a process of cleaning up your life salvation is one moment in time deciding to put all of your trust and faith in jesus christ the moment you do that you are passed from death unto life that's why the bible says for whosoever shall call upon the name of the lord shall be saved the moment you call upon him in faith you are saved it's not like well i believe in him i called on him but maybe someday hopefully i'll know that i'm safe no you're already passed from death unto life and that's why the gospel is called the good news it's good news because our sins have been forgiven it's a free gift it's by believing in him and once we're saved we're always saved what if i said to you hey man i've got really great news for you you're a sinner you deserve to go to hell for all of eternity and if you don't repent of all your sins and live a perfect life and just follow every command in the bible then you're going to spend eternity in hell how's that good news the gospel is literally called good news if you could lose your salvation you would every single person would lose their salvation every single day if it was possible to lose your salvation you know why because the bible says that the thought of foolishness is sin and people have such a high view of themselves and such a low view of god that they think as they drink alcohol as they're smoking as they're doing drugs as they're dressing like a thug or dressing like a whore as they're living with their living girlfriend as they're on their fifth wife they're thinking well i'm not that bad it's like actually yes you are actually yes i am actually all of us deserve hell and what you don't understand is just because you haven't ax murdered a thousand babies in a school that's not the litmus test of going to hell the litmus test for going to hell is one sin and guess what you repenting of that one sin it still needs to be paid for by someone and it was paid for by someone it was jesus christ but if you want that to be applied on your account you actually have to put your faith in him once you do that you're saved for all of eternity but look the idea that you can keep your salvation by your works only a prideful fool would ever believe in that because they're thinking like well of course i could keep myself saved of course i could live a perfect life and it's like well i i don't think that i could do that and people in this room hopefully don't think that we could do that because we actually know that god's standard is perfection god's standard is absolute perfect holiness be holy for i am holy and we know that we can't reach that so the only way we can get there is by faith in christ go to john 316 you know so far god has put two of the most important truths in the world in one of the most famous verses in the bible i don't think that's a coincidence right salvation is by faith and that once you're saved you're always saved but number three another lesson we can learn from this is that salvation is offered to everyone john 316 for god to love the world that he gave his only begotten son that notice whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life you know the great thing about the gospel the great thing about jesus christ is that it is a gift that is offered to the whole world and you know this really does prove the love of god that he gave his son to die for all of the world and people that like to hate on god hate on jesus christ how could you possibly create hell how could you ever possibly burn someone in hell well hold on you're without excuse because he died for everyone i love the great him look and live life is offered unto you hallelujah eternal life your soul shall have if you'll only look to him hallelujah look to jesus who alone can save you know that song says life is offered unto you and that's true life is offered to every single human soul that's ever been created so if anyone goes to hell you know whose fault that is that's their own fault it's not god's fault you can't blame him because life is offered unto you because he died for whosoever john 316 says go to luke chapter number two luke two luke two let's start reading verse 10 it says and the angel said unto them fear not for behold i bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all people for unto you is born this day in the city of david a savior which is christ the lord and this shall be assigned unto you you shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes lying in a manger and suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising god and saying glory to god in the highest and on earth peace goodwill toward men you know the bible says that god commendeth his love towards us and that while we were yet sinners christ died for us god truly did offer salvation to every single person it was glad tidings of great joy to all people the bible says and so truly there is no excuse for a single person that goes to hell they are not allowed to stand in judgment of god and say i didn't have a chance no yes you did john 316 is that chance and is it any coincidence that again such a powerful truth would be encapsulated in the most famous verse in human history that jesus christ died for all go to luke chapter 13 now of course just because jesus died for everyone just because life is offered unto everyone just because whosoever believeth in him doesn't mean that everyone's going to go to heaven and that's the sad reality of our world is that not everyone is going to heaven look at luke 13 verse 23 then said one unto him lord are there few that be saved so they're asking are there few people that are going to heaven and he said unto them strive to enter in at the straight gate for many i say unto you will seek to enter in and shall not be able when once the master of the house is risen up and hath shut to the door and you begin to stand without and to knock at the door saying lord lord you begin to stand without and to knock at the door saying lord lord open unto us and he shall answer and say unto you i know you not whence you are so notice verse 24 tells us to strive to enter in at the straight gate why because many will seek to enter in and shall not be able you know many people are they may think that they want to go to heaven but they don't have a heart that truly desires truth they want to give ear to false prophets and tell them that salvation is by faith alone or that by my salvation is by works and the sad reality of the world is though jesus died for everyone though jesus offered the free gift of eternal life to everyone unfortunately it's actually few that are saved and you know this from being a soul winner that the vast majority of people they don't want to hear it they don't want the free gift they're too busy oh i'm good oh i'm good no worries i'm good it's like man it's it's kind of scary and sad to know what awaits someone that rejects the gospel but at the end of the day you know life was offered unto them and so the blood's off our hands and of course the blood's definitely off jesus's hands because he died for all go to first timothy chapter number four because you know there's this satanic doctrine taught by calvinists called limited atonement where they would teach that jesus didn't die for everyone that life wasn't actually offered to everyone that jesus only ever died for the elect so you know the the choice that we think that we made that we decided to believe on jesus christ they don't think that that's real they don't think that people are actually making that choice they think that god just only died for the elect and so people actually don't have free will to believe on him no he just predetermined everything and he only died for a certain number of people well look at first timothy 4 10 it says for therefore we both labor and suffer reproach because we trust in the living god who is the savior of all men especially of those that believe so notice the living god who is who the savior who living god who is who the savior who is who jesus jesus is god he's the savior of all men especially though those that believe so you know jesus christ he is the savior it's like if someone is you know off the coast and they kind of get taken out to the sea by a rip tide and a coast guard helicopter comes up to them that helicopter is that person's savior whether or not that person decides to take the rope that's going to save them is up to them and you know it's not they're not going to swim their way to shore they're not going to work their way back to shore they need a savior they need a rescuer but at the end of the day it's up to them to decide to accept that rescue and if that person decided not to accept that rescue that coast guard guy was still their savior he was there for them he was ready he had the rope lowered for them but at the end of the day it's up to individuals to actually choose to believe in jesus christ we'll go to john 316 let's talk about the fourth lesson from john 316 and this is an important thing to be reminded about and that is that those who do not believe in jesus christ will spend an eternity in a literal hell in a real place of torment and anguish and agony and fire that will last for forever and ever and ever many people today are forsaking the doctrine of hell teaching that it's an allegory teaching that the bible doesn't really teach the doctrine of hell but look at john 316 for god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not what perish but have everlasting life that word perish is referring to someone going to hell and i'll prove that later from the bible but first who's heard of this false doctrine by the seventh-day Adventists it's called annihilation has anyone ever heard of that before yeah this is a doctrine that seventh-day Adventists teach and they actually have their own paraphrase bible so they actually they don't even call it a translation they literally call it a paraphrase and this but this bible is called the clear word now they teach in this paraphrase edition in the clear word this idea of annihilation what is annihilation annihilation is the seventh-day Adventist teaching that when an unsaved person dies they cease to exist so whereas the bible teaches people in hell being in torment being in smoke being in agony for forever having no rest day or night seventh-day Adventists teach that simply when someone dies they just cease to exist okay now go to Matthew chapter number 25 this is a quote from Adventist.org they said this the second death refers to annihilation or extinction of the unrepentant rather than a continual and eternal conscious torment and some people would like to twist John 3 16 and they'll say well it says there perish so perish clearly means that you stop existing but hold on let's compare some scripture with scripture here because the seventh-day Adventists are not getting this from the bible Matthew 25 verse 41 then shall he say also unto them on the left hand depart from me ye cursed into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels why would God have to create everlasting fire if there's not going to be people being burned in there I mean God doesn't need a furnace God doesn't need a heater why is there everlasting fire because there's people being burned in everlasting fire for all of eternity two of those people are the devil the anti-christ his angels people that don't believe in Jesus Christ there's lots of people Matthew 25 verse 46 notice this and these shall go away into what everlasting punishment but the righteous into life eternal now I had you skip a little bit Matthew 25 41 let me read the clear word this is the paraphrase bible of the seventh-day Adventist this is what their clear word bible says then he will say to those on the left you can't be given a home in my father's kingdom for you are still controlled by your sinful nature leave my presence you will perish in the same fire which will destroy the devil and his angel angels so notice in the king James it's everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels and then in this clear word it's well you're going to go perish in the same fire which will destroy the devil and his angels Matthew 25 46 this is what the clear word says I have no choice but to end your lives because in my kingdom everyone cares about everyone else what that's not even close and these shall go away into everlasting punishment but the righteous into life eternal I have no choice but to end your lives because in my kingdom everyone cares about everyone else wow how stupid do you have to be to be a seventh-day Adventist to read this and think this is the word of God what trash go to Luke 16 Luke 16 this is the worst one they butcher this one worse than than any of them here Luke 16 is a very famous passage I'm sure you're familiar with it verse 19 says there was a certain rich man which was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day and there was a certain beggar named Lazarus which was laid at his gate full of sores and desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table moreover the dogs came and licked his sores and it came to pass that the beggar died and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom the rich man also died and was buried and in hell he left up his eyes being in torments and seeth Abraham afar off and Lazarus in his bosom and he cried and said father Abraham have mercy on me and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger and water and cool my tongue for I am tormented in this flame so notice we have a person here who dies and goes to hell and in hell he's lifting up his eyes and he's literally begging for a just little drop of water to be put on his tongue and he explains why he says for because I am tormented in this flame he doesn't say like oh man I burnt up I'm annihilated I don't exist anymore no he is being tormented present tense in the flames of hell here's what the seventh day avendist bible says on this then he said to the Pharisees which verse 19 actually never says that he's just making this up then he said to the Pharisees you keep telling people the story you put together about a rich man so now he's saying that the Pharisees are coming up with this story okay and you Pharisees keep telling this story that you made up out of thin air about the rich man Lazarus about a rich man who dressed in fine clothes and lived luxuriously verse 20 in your story in your story there's also a poor man called Lazarus who had open sores all over his body every day he sat outside the rich man's gate begging then according to your story the rich man said I beg you father Abraham if no one can come down here to help me then please send Lazarus my brother or Lazarus to my father's house verse 31 then your story ends by Abraham saying if your brothers are not willing to listen to Moses and the prophets they won't listen to anyone else even if one rose from the dead so you see you yourselves teach people that they should listen to the scriptures and that they and that what they do in this life will affect the affect them in the next one so he takes Jesus who Jesus is telling the story about the rich man and Lazarus and Jesus is using this story to warn people about the realities of hell well the seven-day Adventist Jesus is sitting there and saying that this story actually isn't from Jesus oh the Pharisees keep making up this story and according to the Pharisee story this is what happened and according to the Pharisees you know this is the next detail of the story and it's like talk about corrupting scripture talk about adding to the word of God you know these people that believe this book those people are absolutely cursed you know it is a curse to believe something that's stupid revelation chapter 14 revelation chapter number 14 it's just amazing that someone could think that this is even honestly close like I know they call it a paraphrase but that's not a paraphrase I mean you're literally adding to the story that's not what a paraphrase is revelation 14 revelation 14 verse 11 and the smoke of their torment ascendeth up forever and ever and they have no rest day nor night who worship the beast in his image and whosoever received at the mark of his name here's what the seventh day Adventist Bible says the fire of God's judgment will not rest until those who worship the sea beast and the animal and have the mark of its name are totally destroyed so rather than people being in torment and smoke and not having rest day or night it's just like the fire of God's judgment will not rest until those who worship the sea beast where did that come from who's the sea beast it sounds like a cartoon it's like stop worshiping the sea beast okay revelation 19 revelation 19 he's going to talk about this sea beast again in revelation 19 so get ready revelation 19 20 just says and the beast okay and the beast was taken and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast and then that worshipped his image these were both noticed cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone here's the seventh day Adventist Bible but the sea beast and the animal turned false prophet were taken prisoner so the animal turned into a false prophet all right this is the false prophet who had worked miracles to deceive people and had forced them to worship the sea beast and to receive its mark both of them were engulfed by a lake of fire and destroyed so again King James Bible they're cast alive they're burning in a lake of fire this the the little sea beast he's destroyed in the fire it's like what is this man well here's the thing the author of this uh paraphrase Bible Jack Blanco or whatever his name is Jack Blanco he doesn't believe in annihilation anymore I'll tell you that because this guy died a while ago and he didn't you know he had a rude awakening when he died and lifted up his eyes in hell he's like the paraphrase Bible wasn't true he's like where's the sea beast you know it's like no he's still burning to this very moment and he will be burning for all of eternity and you know what he probably has a pretty severe punishment too for messing with the word of God but guess what when it says perish in John 3 16 that doesn't mean annihilation because we just read all these other verses that disprove that what it means is going to hell that's what perishing means go to uh John 3 16. Number five another great lesson we can learn from John 3 16 is that Jesus is not the father Jesus is not the father but John 3 16 for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life I don't think this is a very difficult concept to understand that if you have a son you're a father right and if you're someone's son you're not the father of yourself this is not a difficult concept to understand yet there's those that are out there that would teach that Jesus is the father and really the verse that they would always use for this is Isaiah chapter 9 go to Isaiah 9 verse 6 there is countless scriptures that make it very clear the distinctions between the trinity that the father is his own person that the son is the express image of his person the holy ghost is referred to as he him when he comes you know why is satan tempted you to lie to the holy ghost I can't lie to this pulpit it's not real it's not a thing but I can lie to a person right so there's persons in the trinity but this is where they would go to say no Jesus is the father Isaiah 9 6 for unto us a child is born unto us a son is given and the notice government shall be upon his shoulder and his name shall be called wonderful counselor the mighty God the everlasting father the prince of peace and people say see there you go he's going to be called the everlasting father so Jesus is the father but let me explain to you how it is true that Jesus is the everlasting father in this verse you have a couple of words that tie together you have the word government you have the word counselor oftentimes a lawyer or sometimes even a judge would be called a counselor or counsel the mighty God the everlasting father and the prince of peace you have four words in this verse that all relate to some sort of authority all all relate to some sort of rulership and then it goes on in verse seven it says of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end upon the throne of David and upon his kingdom to order it and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever the zeal of the lord of hosts will perform this so in both of these verses what are we talking about we're talking about rulers we're talking about authority we're talking about government rulership being a king being a prince go to Isaiah chapter 22 flip a couple pages there to Isaiah 22 this same very book will define for you what the word father means because we have to let the bible define itself you know we have john 316 telling us that jesus is the only begotten son of the father okay then we have isaiah 9 saying that jesus will be called the everlasting father so does that mean that you know jesus is the father is this some sort of oneness you know pentecostal view no isaiah 22 verse 21 says this and i will clothe him with thy robe that's something a king would do right wearing a robe and strengthen him with thy girdle and i will commit thy government into his hand and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of jerusalem and to the house of judah don't miss this what does it mean to be a father according to the book of isaiah it's for the government to be committed to you when the government is committed to your hand he shall be called what and he shall be a father don't miss that all right what it's saying to be a father is when the government is committed to you does that sound familiar even in our modern vernacular yes it does how about the founding fathers you know we have founding fathers they created the authority and the the government and the ruling structure of our nation and so they're called founding fathers the bible here is talking about someone when the government is put into his hand he will be a father to the inhabitants of jerusalem this isn't saying that he is literally the blood daddy of every inhabitant of jerusalem okay there's more than one definition to words sometimes and i'll show you also in the bible where it defines it this way go to genesis 45 genesis chapter number 45 genesis 45 look at verse 8 so now it was not you that sent me hither this is joseph speaking so now it was not you that sent me hither but god and notice and he hath made me a father to pharaoh and lord to all his house and a ruler throughout all the land of egypt so notice did did joseph beget pharaoh was he the daddy of the people of egypt no but you know what he was he was the ruler he was the governor he was the person in charge he was the person with authority and what it means that jesus is the everlasting father he shall be called the everlasting father it means that he will be in charge for forever he will have authority for forever he will have power for forever that actually makes sense what doesn't make sense is to say like hey forget the rest of the bible forget all of the book of john you know isaiah 9 is saying jesus is literally the father with that in mind let me read for you again isaiah 9 6 and think about this this concept for unto us a child is born unto us a son is given and the government shall be upon his shoulder and he shall be named he shall his name shall be called wonderful counselor the mighty god the everlasting father the prince of peace you know god is jesus christ is the everlasting ruler this morning we read how he is the head of all principalities and powers right jesus truly is the everlasting father he has everlasting rule he's going to rule for a thousand years on this earth and he's going to rule after that for all of eternity he will be the everlasting father but you know what that's not saying that jesus is god the father and that they're the same person john go to john 17 john chapter number 17 verse 1 it says these words spake jesus and lifted up his eyes to heaven and said father the hour is come glorify thy son that thy son also may glorify thee as thou has given him power over all flesh that he should give eternal life to as many as thou has given him and this is eternal life that they might know thee the only true god and jesus christ whom thou sent i have glorified thee on the earth i have finished the work which thou gave us me to do and now oh father glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which i had with thee before the world was so according to jesus when he's praying to the father he shared glory with god the father before the world even existed that doesn't make a lot of sense if jesus is the father it's like he's praying to himself and he's talking about like man will you please just glorify myself self and self i just want to let you know that we had glory together before the world was and then he's praying to himself in verse 20 neither pray i for these alone but for them also which shall believe on me through their word that they may all be one as thou father art in me and i in thee that they also may be one in us that the world may believe that thou sent me would that make any sense if he's praying to himself no but what makes sense is he's saying hey i'm praying that this group of people will be one just like me and you are one oh see there you go jesus and the father are one well they're one in a certain context just like we are one in a certain context how does god want us to be one well he wants us to be one in the same way that him and the father are one how are they one well they are united in purpose they are united in their authority structure that the father rules over the son he obeys perfectly the son they're united in their mission right and shouldn't we also be one as god and jesus are one shouldn't we be on the same page with the mission that we're called to do to get people saved to win people to jesus christ that actually makes sense to say like we should be one as a church in the same way that they're one but it's like if oneness pentecostalism is true and jesus is the father how are you and i going to be one in the same way that they're one that doesn't make any sense that's impossible that would make jesus's prayer completely pointless and completely vain which of course we know it's not go to john 316 i'll skip some of this for sake of time for the sake of my lungs please pray my lungs get better i'm tired of this john 316 the last lesson that i'm going to talk about this morning is this god's love can run out that is one of the truths that we can learn from john 316 it says this for god so loved that's a past tense word right there for god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believe in them should not perish but have everlasting life you know there does come a point where god can say well i love those people but he doesn't anymore you know what who would fit that bill how about every single person in hell right now you could say of those people well god so loved those people but can you really say that god loves the people that are in hell right now no you cannot you can't say that it's a loving thing for people to be burning and being in torture and suffering and torment for all of eternity yet last summer pastor shelley and i we went to some college universities and we went and we asked college kids this at a christian university at tcu does god love the people in hell all of them that we asked all of them that we asked said yes it's like you have been brainwashed my friend the bible says for god so loved did god love every single human soul at one point yes he did for you know how did god show us his love god commended his love towards us and that while we were yet sinners christ died for us how does god love us he loves us by giving us his son jesus christ that's how he loves us that's how he loved the whole world but the people that decided to reject that free gift the people that decided to reject john 316 he does not love them anymore and it's a it's a sad reality but it's just the truth god does not love everyone god will not love everyone for all of eternity now he will love us that are saved he will love us for forever go to romans 8 romans chapter number 8 while you're turning there i'll read john 336 he that believeth on the sun hath everlasting life and he that believeth not the sun shall not see life but the wrath of god abide upon him he's not really loving to those people that don't believe in jesus christ rather his wrath is upon them here's a good reason to get saved god will always love you if you get saved look at romans 835 who shall separate us from the love of christ shall tribulation or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or peril or sword as it is written for thy sake we are killed all the day long we are counted as sheep for the slaughter nay in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us for i am persuaded that neither death nor life nor angels nor principalities nor powers nor things present nor things to come nor height nor depth nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of god which is in christ jesus our lord and you know what thank god for that that's an amazing gift that we have from god that nothing absolutely nothing we experience in this life will ever separate us from the love of god and you know what we should try to have the same attitude that god has one of the things i was talking about this morning how we should try to be loving to our brothers and sisters in christ that we shouldn't want to just cut someone off so quickly think about how long-suffering god is towards us think about how faithful god is towards us that there's nothing that's going to separate us from the love of god and sometimes how quickly we are willing to separate our love for another christian who jesus loves who jesus died for you know what this is a powerful scripture right here that nothing will ever separate us from the love of god and you know that should motivate you as a person to also love your brothers and sisters in christ and say you know what nothing's going to separate me from my love from brothers and sisters in christ they can walk away from me but i'm not walking away from them i love them that's the attitude that you should have go to hosea chapter number nine not only does god not love the people in hell not only is his love past tense for those people it is true and this is not popular in christianity today but it is true that god can stop loving people while they are still alive on this earth hosea chapter number nine hosea nine verse 15 all their wickedness is in gilgal for there i hated them that's not something you're going to see on a hallmark card anytime soon that's not something that you're going to see on a canva image for the wickedness of their doings i will drive them out of mine house i will love them no more all their princes are revolters so notice with god's people nothing can separate us from the love of god he will always love us but there's some people that god hates there's some people that god says i will love them no more and just like we should try to mirror god's attitude and we should have the attitude towards christians that we love our brothers in christ that we're not going to let anything stop us from loving our brethren also if there's someone that god hates i want to hate that person too there's someone that god doesn't love anymore if there's someone that's an enemy of god you better believe i hate that person too and we live in such a weird world that thinks that it's some sort of virtue just to love everyone at all times no matter what when hello john 316 says for god so loved past tense meaning that there's some people that god does not love anymore what would that look like today go to romans chapter number one romans chapter number one there's people that god hates and it is not a virtue to love people that god hates that's actually a revealing that you don't have a heart that's in tune with the scripture that your mind has not been renewed that you're walking according to fleshly wisdom no we have to go with what the bible says romans 1 verse 21 because that when they knew god they glorified him not as god neither were thankful but became vain in their imaginations and their foolish heart was darkened you know there's some people that they're not just ignorant there's some people that know the truth in this world but they hate the truth they know things have been revealed from god but rather they are professing themselves to be wise they become fools they're willingly ignorant there's people in this world that hate the truth they know what it is and they hate the truth and look at what happens to those people verse 24 wherefore god also gave them up to uncleanness through the lust of their own hearts to dishonor their own bodies between themselves who changed the truth of god into a lie and worshipped and served the creature more than the creator who's blessed forever amen for this cause for this cause god gave them up unto vile affections for even their women to change the natural use of that which is against nature and likewise also the men leaving the natural use of the woman burn in their lust one toward another men with men working that which is unseemly and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was me and notice verse 28 and even as they did not like to retain god in their knowledge god gave them over to a reprobate mind to do those things which are not convenient so notice god at one time he did love these people god at one time did say life is offered unto you but there comes a point where someone rejects him over and over and over and over again where god in turn says okay you know what my love has run out for you i don't love you anymore he turns them over to a reprobate mind and they can never ever believe the truth after that i don't have time to develop that this evening but if you go read john chapter number 12 it talks about people who have hardened their hearts to a point where they can not believe and that's what a reprobate is you know i had a person ask me this week you know like well what if one of your kids became a homosexual or would you do you think that we should still love homosexuals it's like well hold on a second the only way a person could even become a homosexual according to the bible is by rejecting god and hating god and being turned over to reprobate mine so if you're saved if your children are saved it's impossible for them to even become a homosexual in the first place but to answer the question what would i do if anyone was a homosexual i would feel about them the way that god does that they're worthy of death according to the last verse of this chapter that we're in right now romans chapter number one and so i'm not going to be any respecter of persons you know if god hates someone i should hate that that person if god loves someone i should love that person and sometimes you know our flesh doesn't want to love someone sometimes we don't want to show someone mercy and grace but that's the way that god feels towards them and if god feels that way towards them that's how we should feel too and you know what that's probably the message that our types of church needs a lot but these liberal churches they need to hear like hey god hates some people too there's some people that have rejected god and in turn god has rejected them and turned them over to reprobate mine and you know what you should reject those people too you shouldn't let homosexuals into your church you shouldn't let homosexuals into your home parties or watch your kids or be around your family you should reject those people why because god rejected them because john 3 16 teaches us hey god so loved the world and so you know the application of the sermon is is that we need to reach people with john 3 16 before time runs out for them why because hey john 3 16 hey it does teach salvation is by faith alone once you're saved you're always saved jesus died for everyone right god is willing to give us everlasting life he's he's given us life is offered unto us we could take it we could believe on him but there comes a time where time can run out for someone to where that no longer is an option for them and so what do we do now that we're saved because of course before you're saved what do you do with john 3 16 you believe it you call upon the name of the lord you get saved but us now that we're saved what do we do with john 3 16 we go and reach people with john 3 16 we show them hey let me explain to you why this is the most famous verse in the whole world because you can get saved by faith alone because it's everlasting life because jesus died for everyone and because guess what your time isn't guaranteed for forever god's timer can run out on you if you reject him and people need to believe in the lord jesus christ today let's have a word of prayer lord thank you for this verse thank you for the great truths found in it i just pray that you would help us all to love this verse and to reach people in this community with its message and
