So tomorrow we're going to have our meetup at 10 a.m. again. So just make sure for those of you that are part of the youth rally, that you're here at 10 a.m. And we're going to have our meetup General Assembly tomorrow. We're going to have games and of course, a skit. And we're going to have Pastor Tabner that came from Stronghold Baptist Church all the way from the UK. He's going to be preaching for us tomorrow morning. So you're not going to want to miss that. And then tomorrow, after the morning session, we're going to have games in the Fellowship Hall. We're going to have Jeopardy. And then out on the field, we're going to have BB gun target practice. And then from three to five, there's going to be a bowlathon. And that'll be at the bowling alley. All right, I'm going to try to make my sermon as interactive as possible because I realize a lot of you are tired and sun burnt and ate too much food today. Nice catch. Did he catch it? All right, I got shirts here. They're small and other sizes, but I'll give them away later. I don't want to take up too much time. But again, thank you Verity Baptist Church for putting this on. Thank you, Pastor Jimenez. And let's look down at our text. And I'm not necessarily preaching out of this text tonight, but I did want to get, just kind of jumpstart from verses eight to 13. Let's go ahead and look at the Bible here in verse eight. It says, and Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died being 110 years old. And they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnathares in the Mount of Ephraim in the north side of the hill of Gash. And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers, and there arose another generation. So in other words, a next generation, right? After them, which knew not the Lord, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel. And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and served Balaam. And they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, which brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods of the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked the Lord to anger. And they forsook the Lord, and served Baal and Asheroth. So just, you know, the problem was, is that they did not reach the next generation. And I'm very thankful for the fact that this church has a vision to reach the next generation. That is what we're here for, and this is geared towards you, teens. And you've had, you know, a lot of fun today. And look, we want you to have fun. By all means, have fun, make connections, meet new friends. I'm sure you've had a lot of time to do that. But I really want you to focus in tonight on the word of God, because like Pastor Amanda said, it is the most important thing, and this is really why we're here, so that you can get a message from the Lord in the services, and I'm hoping this will help you tonight. The title of my sermon tonight is Doing Right When Everyone Else Is Doing Wrong. Doing right when everyone else is doing wrong. Let's pray real quick. Heavenly Father, we thank you, Lord, so much for this great gathering of teenagers and just young people and adults in general. Lord, we're so thankful for a group of teens that would just come here and wanna hear what you have to say to them tonight. Lord, I pray that you'd fill me with your spirit. I pray, Lord, for the rest of this conference. I pray, Lord, that great things and great friendships would be made. But also, Lord, great decisions would be made in young people's lives, that they would wanna serve in this next generation and rise up and be a great powerhouse for you, Lord, and that, Lord, they would replace the older generation and go on and do great things for you, Lord. In Jesus' name we pray, amen. So, now, doing right things when everybody else is doing wrong, and in reality, I'm just gonna show you stories about teenagers and children that they did right when everybody else was doing wrong. And so, one thing I want you to notice about this is that all these teenagers that I mentioned, these children, go on and serve the Lord for their whole life. This is a very important time in your life, and if you're already saved, and I know a lot of you probably already are, but in a room this size, I'm sure that there's teens in here or children in here that are not saved. And you need to make a decision as to whether you're gonna be part of a generation that forsakes God and goes your own way and rebels against your parents and rebels against the God of your fathers, or if you're gonna say, you know what, I'm gonna serve God with my life, I'm gonna be part of that next generation. That is what the theme of this conference is about, for you to be that next generation. So, I really wanna focus in on some specific teenagers here, and I also want to focus on some different qualities that these teenagers had, and those qualities are character, integrity, bravery, and boldness. Character, integrity, bravery, and boldness. And so, integrity is what? It's the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles, or moral uprightness. So, in the first story that we're gonna go to, it's in Daniel chapter number one, so go ahead and turn to Daniel chapter number one, and we're gonna look at a few verses here. So, of course, most people know the story of Daniel. He was taken from Babylon. He was taken to a faraway country. Jerusalem is destroyed. The temple gets destroyed, and all these children are taken away to a foreign nation, and Daniel and some of the people that are with him are chosen because they're the brightest and upcoming of these people. They're fair to look upon. They're very wise. They know science. They're smart. They're cunning in knowledge. But look at verse number five. There's something that they had to do also that's not something that they grew up doing. Look at verse five. It says, and the king appointed them a daily provision of the king's meat and of the wine which he drank, so nourishing them three years that at the end thereof they might stand before the king. So, they're kinda trying to make them eat this certain kind of meat and drink this certain kind of wine that's gonna make them look a certain way after three years. Isn't that what it says? Now, among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names. For he gave unto Daniel the name Belteshazzar, and unto Hananiah of Shadrach, and unto Mishael of Meshach, and unto Azariah of Abednego. So, this is Daniel, you know, is Belteshazzar. Then, of course, most people know them by Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Everybody heard of these? Who's heard of these guys before? Raise your hand, okay, a lot of people. All right, so, but look at verse number eight. And so, integrity is the first quality that I want you to see. And look, most of these people have all these qualities that I've already mentioned, but for Daniel's purpose, I wanna focus on his integrity. Look what it says in verse number eight. But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor of the wine which he drank. Therefore, he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. Now, why would it be defiling for him to just eat some food and drink some wine? Now, of course, wine has two different meanings. It can mean alcoholic wine, or it can mean just fruit juice. I mean, we're not really sure exactly why this was not something that they were supposed to eat and drink. There's a couple reasons I would say. One, it could have had alcohol in it, or the meat could have been some kind of forbidden animal that they were not supposed to eat under the law of Moses, like a pig or swine or whatever. But also, they could have been sacrificed to their gods, and maybe that was an abomination to Daniel and he wasn't going to eat those things. But the thing is, is that Daniel, he is the one that stood tall and said, I'm not going to do this thing. I'm not going to allow myself to be defiled by these things. And here's the thing, Daniel had every excuse to just go along to get along. Daniel had every excuse to just say, well, everybody else is doing it. Why not me too? Who's going to notice? You know, they're dragged away from their homeland. Their temple is destroyed, and you know, I don't want to be crass here, but if you notice that they said that the master of the eunuchs gave them names, these children have been made eunuchs, and that means that some of their male parts have been cut off, okay? So I mean, if you want to have a reason to throw a pity party and to just say, you know what, I'm just going to just do what everybody else is doing, because it wasn't just, you know, Daniel was the only one that said, you know what, I'm going to purpose in my heart not to defile myself with the king's wine or with the meat that he drank. And so Daniel refused to be defiled. And so what does it mean to be defiled? Well, it means that you are made dirty in some way. You're made filthy in some way. And that could be spiritually filthy or it could be, you know, literally dirty, like the people that were eating sand earlier. I mean, that's pretty gross, right? I was kind of having secondhand gag reflexes because of them sticking their faces in piles of sand. But you know, hopefully it was clean sand that they got somewhere, but I mean, it is dirt, right? But Daniel had something that a lot of people wouldn't normally have, and that is character. That word character is the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual. It's a person's good reputation. Now I want you to ask yourself tonight, kids, and I really am focused on the teens here tonight, but everybody can get something out of this. Would somebody say that you're a person of good moral character? And that is something that you need to have on your own. And just like everything else, you're kind of in this, I don't know, weird age where you're not quite an adult, but you're not a kid and you're trying to figure things out and you're like, well, how do you know? You're just some old boomer, Pastor Thompson. Well, number one, I'm not a boomer. I'm a Gen X-er, okay? I don't know if that's any better, but I'm not a boomer. And number three, I was a teen once. So believe it or not, I was just like you a long time ago, far, far away. But I used to be a teen, so I understand, you know, some of the things and the challenges that you go through. And one of those things is trying to be your own person and identify what are you gonna be? What are your moral characteristics gonna be like? And it can be tough because there's a lot of peer pressure and there's a lot of different, you know, you're dealing with things that I never had to deal with. We didn't have cell phones when I was a kid. And when we had them, when they first came out, they were like this long and like this fat and like they were huge. You couldn't just put them in your pocket and store them away. You didn't have like internet access to them. It was just calling people. And like you're always trying to find a signal. I didn't even have one. I mean, you had to kind of have a lot of money to have one of those things. So cell phones were not one of those challenges that we had. But regardless of what age you, I mean, Daniel lived a long time ago. But he did have moral character, didn't he? He could have made the other choice. He could have just said, you know what, I'm gonna just eat the king's meat and drink the king's wine. Now, to have character, you know, I just kind of read this definition or found this definition that says your character or this statement here, says your character is your personality, especially how reliable and honest you are. If someone is of good character, they're reliable and honest. If they're a bad character, they're unreliable and dishonest. And that is pretty true. And so you want to be a person that is reliable, right? I mean, who in here would say, I just don't want to be reliable at all? Who would raise their hand and say that? Don't do it. Don't do it. I don't care about being reliable. I don't care about being honest. Well, then, you know, you probably got some problems, you know, if that's your attitude. And I don't think anybody here has that attitude. So, well, how do we apply this? Well, I would say this. Daniel, he's just dealing with something that we really don't have to deal with in those ways, except for the fact that don't drink wine, kids. Don't do alcohol and drugs. Don't defile yourself and destroy your brain and the temple that God gave you. You know, you might think, oh, yeah, well, it looks like it's fun on this movie or people tell me it's fun or this friend I'm hanging out with tells me to try it. Look, if you have a friend that's telling you to try drugs or alcohol, stop being friends with that person. Let me just tell you that right off the bat. Don't defile yourself. Don't defile yourself with tattoos and piercings. You know, I mean, I, you're like, well, Pastor James, I've seen that you have a tattoo. I do have a tattoo, and you know what I am? I'm an idiot for getting one. You know, and you know what it is of? I don't wanna show it right now, but it's of a dragon. What does the dragon represent? The devil, but do you think that that's what, I went in there and I'm like, I'm gonna get a tattoo of the devil on my arm. No, I mean, and I shouldn't even have got it there, so every time I wear a short-sleeve shirt, I have to be reminded of some devil on my arm, and it's there forever. You can't get it off. I mean, I could, you know, I thought about like putting some Christian tattoo over it a long time ago before I realized what the Bible said about when I was at first a Christian or just trying to cover it up some way, but you know, I wasn't raised as a Christian. That's not an excuse for me, but I'm just telling you this. You'll regret doing it, and you know, a lot of even women didn't used to get tattoos when they were, you know, at my age, but it kind of started to become a thing when I was getting older, but you know, maybe 19 or 20 or something like that, but I regret doing that. I wish I'd never defiled my body in that way, and it's a permanent thing. You're like, well, it's not that big of a deal. Well, you know, the Bible says not to print any marks upon you. You're not supposed to make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you. I am the Lord. That's what the Bible says. So look, you know, you can say, oh, it's not a big deal. That's the Old Testament, bro, and all this other stuff. Look, make up any excuse you want, but you know what the Bible says. It says not to do it. It's a demonic, and it's a heathen practice, all right? It really is, and the Bible, you know, and look, here's the other thing. Who puts stickers on a Ferrari? Who puts bumper stickers on a Ferrari? Look, your body's a Ferrari that God made for, you know, designed you. He didn't intend for you to put a bunch of stupid bumper stickers on your body that he made. And look, if you're saved in here tonight, God's redeemed you, and he says that's his body. You know, he's redeemed you from your cursed life, and you know, that body belongs to him. So what right do you have to go and put some stupid only God can judge me tattoo on you or something? And it's really pretty stupid to put some Christian stuff on your body, because he's already telling you not to do it, it's just like the ultimate hypocrisy. You know, people do it, but you know, obviously, people are really misguided. Don't defile yourselves, kids. Don't defile yourself, don't defile your purity. You know, here's another thing. Don't defile your purity. And you're like, well, why is that defiling? Why should I stay a virgin? Well, because the Bible says so, that's why. And you should wait for that person that you're gonna marry, and you wait till you get married before you do those things. Because the Bible calls it being defiled when you lie with somebody that's not your spouse. And so you should stay pure until you get to the marriage altar. Your first handhold, your first kiss, all those things should be done at the marriage altar. And I know there's various different opinions on that, but let me just tell you something. The Bible teaches that it's good for a man not to touch a woman. And you're like, well, that doesn't necessarily mean that. Well, let me just tell you this. You know what leads to more touching? When you do any kind of touching, when you're your age, you already know it, you're going through the hormones right now, you already have these feelings inside you that you can't help, and if someone touches you, it doesn't have to be some kind of inappropriate touch, it could just be any touch. And it's gonna make you feel a way that you wanna do more touching. So I mean, I believe that if you're not married, you shouldn't be touching each other, period. And you should leave some space for Jesus when you're, leave some room for Jesus. Have you any room for Jesus? Because you probably should leave some room for Jesus between you and your dating partner, if you're gonna be dating. So anyway, that's enough of my meddling on that, but I also say this, stay away from queers. They'll defile you too. And you're like, oh, you're gonna talk about queers? Yeah, I'm gonna talk about it, because it is the fight of our generation. And it's being just bombarded over all social media, and I realize some of you kids don't have social media, and thank God for that, but some of you probably do. And that stuff is just constantly just being bombarded in your face. Look, Daniel was made a eunuch against his will, and there's a lot of people that are being made eunuchs against their will today too. These queers are adopting children and adopting teens, and then they're making them think that they're something that they're not. That they're, oh, you were born to be a man instead of a woman, and all this other stuff. That's trash, stay away from these types of people and that mentality, because look, once you get it, that stuff chopped off, you can't get it back, all right? The real parts, once they're gone, you can't put them back on. And so if you get someone, you know, obviously, I think that a lot of these people are freaks and reprobates, but there's some people that are made eunuchs against their will. And there might be these weirdos out there, you think that they're reprobates, but someone just probably made them that way, and they're confused. I mean, we're living in a world of mass confusion, mass confusion when it comes to these kind of situations and issues. So look at 2 Corinthians chapter six, 2 Corinthians chapter six. What are we talking about right now? We're talking about not being defiled. Be like Daniel, you know that song, Dare to be a Daniel? Well, why don't you dare to be a Daniel? Why don't you dare to stand alone? Why don't you dare to be a kid that has some character and said, you know what, you guys might want to do that, but I'm gonna purpose in my heart not to defile myself with anything that I shouldn't be doing. And look, I could go through all kinds of things, but one of the things is to stay away from people that are not saved. And they shouldn't be your best friends. They shouldn't be the people you're hanging around with. 2 Corinthians 6, 14 says be not unequally yoked together with, what's it say there? Haul it out on believers. So are we supposed to hang out with them? No, you're supposed to get them saved. You're like, oh, Jesus went to the bars, no he didn't, okay. I know you kids don't believe that, but it says, for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness? What concord hath Christ with Belial? What does Christ have to do with the devil? Nothing, right? So these are questions that Paul's asking. He's like, and the questions are all the same answer. Nothing. Or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God. As God hath said, I will dwell in them and walk in them and I will be their God and they shall be my people. And look what it says here. Wherefore, come out from among them and be separate, saith the Lord. And what's it say right there? Touch not the unclean thing. So what would that be? Defiling yourself. And how do you defy yourself? Well, it's saying, don't hang out with these people. Don't make them your best friends. Don't yoke up with them. Don't marry them. Look, ladies, you can't change some unbeliever kid. If you can get him saved, yeah, get him saved, but they're not gonna change. If they're not going to church now, they're not gonna go to church later. And obviously you're not ready to get married right now. I'm not saying that, but for the future, don't fix your eyes upon that which is forbidden. The Bible says to come out from among them, to not touch the unclean thing. So don't defile yourself with Hollywood trash. Don't defile yourself with worldly music. Daniel, and think about this, Daniel's stands led to his friends following him. You know, it doesn't say that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that they are the ones that took the stand. It says Daniel took the stand, but then they took the stand with Daniel. See, you wanna be a leader for right and truth and character, not for the wrong thing. And look, you hang around the wrong people and the bad things are gonna happen. But let me tell you this, great moments are born from great opportunities. When you have a chance to make a stand for God for the right things, God is gonna bless you. Just like he blessed Daniel. What are the things he blessed him with? Well, how about giving him the wisdom to interpret dreams? You know, he interpreted Nebuchadnezzar's dreams, saved a bunch of people's lives, became basically the second in command of the whole nation. You know, Daniel was, his life was continuously blessed throughout his whole life, even though he was a eunuch, even though he was taken from his parents. You know, don't let the circumstances of your life and the hardships of your life, you know, make you say, oh, well, I don't wanna serve God because all these bad things. This is the world talking. This is what the world will tell you. They'll tell you to feel sorry for yourself because of the lot that you've been given. But that's just trash. That's a reason to have your own little pity party and feel bad about you and so you and your friends can all get together and cry about it or whatever. Just put that stuff aside. Didn't Daniel have some excuses to not move forward in his life and to not make stands? He did, but you know what Daniel did? He prayed three times a day. Daniel was a man of prayer and God loved Daniel. He was beloved of the Lord and he served God his whole life. Great example. So you also can have your great moments that are born from great opportunities. You know, opportunities are gonna come to you where you can make a stand, where you can choose to do right instead of doing wrong and then God's gonna bless your life in the same way. So let's move on to the second one. Now I want some participation in this one. So I'm gonna ask you to obey what I'm saying right now, everybody. Okay? This is a commercial timeout for you. I want everybody to stand up, everybody. Now I want everybody to get on your knees. Kneel. Kneel. You all kneeled. All right, you can get back up. Turn to Daniel chapter three. That was just an experiment, I just wanted to wake you up, make your knees hurt real quick, make all the old people get mad at me. My wife. Sorry honey, I love you. But my second point tonight is this. Don't bow down to peer pressure. Look at Daniel chapter three. So the story here is Nebuchadnezzar sets up this image and it's supposed to be worshiped by everybody. Everybody has to bow down to this image, right? Who's heard this story before? Okay, and this is called idolatry, it's a wicked sin that God hates. But once they started playing all the different sounds of music, do you think it was how great thou art that was playing? Do you think it was that song that was playing before during the passing of the plates? What was that song? Anybody, can someone holler it out to me? Yeah, victory through grace, not to the strong is the battle, not to the swift is the race. But what is it, but the true, faithful, victory is promised through grace, yeah. It's a great song. So do you think that that's the song that they're playing? Nebuchadnezzar said once you're playing all the flutes and the dulcimers and all the different kinds of music then everybody's gonna bow down. Do you think it was that song? No, it was probably some wicked worldly music. And of course it's a picture of the end times. Nebuchadnezzar picturing the antichrist, picturing the false image that's gonna be set up in the temple and if everybody doesn't worship the beast or the image that he places and you don't bow down, you don't worship him, then what's gonna happen is you're gonna be killed or you have to take the mark of the beast or you can't buy and sell and all that stuff. There's a picture of that. But now look at verse number 14. So I said don't bow down to peer pressure. And I commanded everybody in this room to stand up and to bow down and everybody did it. Why did you do it? Because you bowed down to my peer pressure. I was thinking maybe a couple people would just say I refuse to stand. But it was an experiment. You're not wrong for doing it. I was asking you to bow down to an idol. But look at verse 14, it says Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, is it true, because Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, they didn't bow. It says is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, do not ye serve my gods nor worship the golden image which I have set up? Now if ye be ready, then at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sack, foot, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of music, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made well. But if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. And who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands? Peer pressure is a real thing. It is a real difficult thing that teenagers, it's a real big issue that teenagers deal with. Because you want to fit in, you want to be cool, you don't want to be the weird one, you don't want to be the one that everybody makes fun of or mocks. And it's hard because even in Christian groups, these types of things can happen. I know it happens, it probably happened today. Someone probably feels bad for the way that they were treated. Some people probably treated some kids worse than others. And that shouldn't be happening, but it still does. And if you are doing that to other people, you probably shouldn't be doing that. You're Christians, you should be different, right? But it says, this is what Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered back to the ruler of the whole world at this time. And Nebuchadnezzar kind of had a little bit of a temper problem. In case you didn't realize that, when people say no to him, he likes to cut him up and throw him in a dung heap and destroy their houses. He destroyed Jerusalem, he destroyed the temple. But it says, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up. So they weren't really trying to be rude, but there's sometimes when you're being pressured to do something that's wrong, that someone has to stand up and do that which is right. And these are teenagers, basically. They're kids your age, just like Daniel was a teenager, or probably, maybe he was a little bit younger at the time when he made that first stand, maybe he was 12, 13 or something, I don't know. But these friends followed Daniel, and now they're setting the example to everybody else. Everybody else is bowing down, and they get narked off to Nebuchadnezzar. They have some tattletales that wanna get him killed. And so what's the penalty for not doing it? You get thrown into the fiery furnace. Now, Nebuchadnezzar gets really angry here. He throws them in the fiery furnace, and then he notices that somebody is in the fiery furnace with them. Who's in the fiery furnace with them? Anybody know this story? Who's in the fiery furnace, anybody? Who's in there? Who's in there? Yeah, well, Nebuchadnezzar says one like the son of man or the son of God, does it say this? Yeah, the son of God. So Jesus is in there with them, and it says they're walking around in this fire. The fire was made seven times hotter than it ought to be. And the people that walked up and threw those guys in, they died because it was so hot when they pushed them in. They just died because it was that hot. But they didn't have one, they didn't even smell like smoke. None of their clothes got singed. Nothing happened to them. And why did God allow that to happen? Why did God save them? Why did God stop them from being killed? Well, because they didn't bow down to the peer pressure that was being forced upon them. And look, we're living in a time right now, and times are getting crazier, and you're like, well, I'm not ever gonna be put in that much of a peer pressure situation. Well, like I said, this is one of those things that is a foreshadowing of things to come. So yes, there is a time when people are gonna be asked to do things like this, and what is your answer gonna be? Is your answer gonna be, hey, I'm saved, I'm not gonna take this mark? Hopefully, obviously nobody that's saved is gonna take the mark, but it's gonna be a tremendous pressure. And so you, but you have a lot of things that are way less pressure than that. And you know what, if you're a child of God, it's time to stand up to peer pressure. And don't let this bad peer pressure affect you as teenagers, okay? And look, there's good peer pressure. There's good peer pressure. Daniel's peer pressure was good to Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. If you're hanging around people that are doing right and they're like encouraging you to go soul winning and read your Bible and pray and go to church and those types of things, that's good peer pressure, isn't it? You know, when pastor gets up here and says, hey, come to Sunday night church, come to Wednesday night church, come to Sunday morning church, be three to thrive, what's he doing? He's pressuring you to do something that's right. That's good peer pressure. What's bad peer pressure? Oh, you don't need church, you don't need Jesus, you don't need all this stuff. You can get tattoos, you can do whatever you want. Look, that's bad peer pressure. That's the peer pressure that you want to avoid and you need to, as Christians, you need to be able to make a stand. The Bible says in Exodus 23 verse two, it says, thou shall not follow a multitude to do evil. So just because everybody else is doing it, it doesn't mean that it's okay for you to do it. Just like the Nazis, they got tried for war crimes and you know what they said? Well, we were just following orders. Is that gonna get you off the hook? Oh, we were just doing everything because everybody else was doing it too. That's not gonna fly with God, it's just not. And so you have to make a decision in your life to say I'm not gonna bow down to wicked and bad peer pressure. So peer pressure, what's the definition of it? Well, peer pressure could be good in some cases, like I said, but you are who you hang around. And Pastor Pizarcy kind of hit on that a little bit this morning. He said, you know, you are the sum of your friends. And this is true, and I just say it like this, you become who you hang around. And so if you're navigating to the worst types of people, and look, in church, there still can be bad people. There still can be bad influences in church. Don't navigate towards them just because they're cool or whatever. You know, there's a lot of cool people that are in prison. There's a lot of cool people that ruin their life. You know, and how cool are they gonna be when they're fornicating and ruining their lives? They're not gonna be cool then. You know, you're only cool for so long when you get your new car, kids. You know, when you're shining it up and you're doing whatever, and that's a lot of teenagers, that's a big deal. When someone gets their first car and you're hanging around that kid in their car or whatever. Obviously that was a thing that we thought was really cool when our friends that get cars are like, yeah, come pick me up, give me some gas money or whatever. You know, it's just one of those things. But don't be pressured into bowing down to these wicked things. And what are some of these things? Well, how about being a narcissist? Don't bow down to becoming a narcissist. And you're like, well, what do you mean by that? Well, some people worship themselves. And teenagers can be prone to worshiping themselves. They're like, well, what do you mean? Well, how about the 15 million selfies that you put on your Instagram page? How about that? How about all the TikTok videos that you make with a bunch of worldly music with it? How about the Snapchat that you probably shouldn't be using? You know, the Bible says this, no, in the last days, perilous time shall come for men shall be lovers of their own selves. Well, what does that mean? It's narcissism. Where'd that word come from? Well, narcissist was some Greek, some, I don't know, it's from some Greek story or whatever where he caught his reflection in something and he looked at himself and he's like, I love you. So that's kind of where the saying came from. So if you look in the mirror and you go, ooh, I really love you. It's kind of, you know, obviously everybody's supposed to love themselves to a certain extent. No man hates his own flesh, right? But you can get a little too obsessed with yourself and so don't bow down to yourself, obviously. There's a peer pressure to be on social media and look as pretty as you can and use a bunch of filters. Look, everybody knows they're filters, okay? They know your face is not without blemish. I mean, everybody has blemishes, right? If you just have like this, I mean, some of the filters are just like, that looks like a cartoon, okay? That's weird but don't get so obsessed with your body and how you look and your hair and your clothes and I know this is a thing that teens get obsessed with and guys, if you're spending more than five or 10 minutes in the mirror, that's just bizarre, just stop. All right, just shave your head like me. No, I'm just kidding. Well, it's a lot easier to deal with. I can tell you that right now. I just, I just shave and that's it, you know? It's over but yeah, I know. I don't have any hair to brag about so when I was young, I had hair. I don't know how to get it but anyway. So but let me just tell you this. Anything that you put before God can become an idol that God hates. It doesn't have to necessarily be Nebuchadnezzar's statue. It can be anything you put before God and guess what? So can it be yourself? Yeah, it can be and you know, when the Bible says in the last days, men shall be lovers of their own selves, that is ringing true because look, we live in this generation where everybody wants to be an influencer on the internet, everybody has a podcast, everybody's an influencer and young people are going to these influencers and being influenced by the wrong people and so I would say make sure that your influencer is someone that you should be influenced by. It is a big thing out there right now and like when it comes to like being obsessed with your looks and all these things, well I'm not saying be a scrub. I'm not saying look like a, you know, look like a scruffy scrub or whatever but you know, to obsess over your own self to the point where that's just all you're doing is obsessing over your body and how you look, it kind of gets a little weird and you know, maybe throw away the makeup paint sprayer. I mean, I'm not against makeup, obviously totally against makeup or something but when you have to, you know, go to the auto body shop and have it sprayed on your face or whatever, then that's getting a little too much, right? So that's a bad joke but yeah, so I mean, again, you know, I know I'm stepping on some toes and some people are like, yeah, I don't care what you say, I'm gonna wear makeup. I don't, I'm just, I'm trying to help you out here. You know, because if people look at you and that's not your real face every day, I mean, eventually you're gonna get married and they're gonna wake up the next day and be like, ah, you know, like, might want to let them know what you really look like, I don't know. So and then here's the other, and this is something that women really have a hang up with and I'm just gonna kind of briefly mention this and move on but there is a pressure, there is a big pressure for women with pants, with, what do you call them, brother Ian? Trousers, they're called trousers in England because pants in England are like underwear. So whenever we say pants, they think, what are they talking about? But trousers, that even makes it sound more manly, doesn't it? I think we'll just start calling them trousers from now on that makes women like turned off in their mind about it. But I don't know what it is where, it's like I was watching some cult documentary or something and this, I mean, this girl, the first thing that she does when she escapes is she goes, and I went and I got a pair of pants because they were making her wear a dress or something. I just thought, I see that so many times, like what is it like about pants that just women have to gravitate towards? It is kind of like a high place in women's minds. It's like, well, at some point you're gonna have to have your own, I don't know, what would you say? Your own personal choice in whether you're gonna follow the Bible or not. It shouldn't be, well, I'm only doing that because I go to this church. It should be something that you do because you believe God's word. And then you're not gonna wear that which pertaineth unto a man. I'm not gonna get into all the ins and outs. You've heard the sermons plenty of times, I'm sure, but it is something that can be an idol. And look, why don't you just make up your mind that just like Jacob, when before he, Jacob was told to get rid of all of his idols in his family. And he took, and there was an oak tree and he buried all those idols of all the women in the family and all the, whatever wicked things they had, they just buried. Why don't you just get rid of that stuff? And why don't you just make a point in your mind that I'm not gonna bow down to these things, these pressures, because you know what it is? It's a pressure from society to say, why are you so weird? Why are you wearing a dress? What, are you Russian or something? I mean, that's literally what was said to my daughters all the time. They'd come up and try to speak Russian to her. Ruski, Ruski? Because they're white. Obviously they're not gonna say that to the dark people, but they're not, what are you, Jehovah's Witnesses? I mean, God forbid that we would be a Baptist. And you know, you'd be wearing dresses outside. That's what the Bible teaches. You know, people are like, wow, I don't think that's the garment. Well, which one is it then? The gloves, the T-shirts, the socks. And yeah, I admit, there could be some other things that would be girly looking, right? And guy looking. But anyway, I'm not gonna dwell on that forever. But I'm just saying, there's a lot of things that we're pressured into, folks. And we gotta break those things and not feel that pressure. Bury those things under the yoke like Jacob did. So your friends can be an idol too. And with teenagers, this is a big thing. I wanna hang out with my friends, you know? And then you kinda get to the point where, you know, I don't know what happens in a teenager's mind where, you know, I remember when my kids were young and I would walk through the door and they'd run and hug me and hug my legs and be like, oh, dad, ah. You know, and then when they turn like teenagers, the dogs are coming to hug me and the kids are just like, ah, dad, you know, whatever. But it's not just my kids. I think it's all teenagers kinda go through this thing where there's like a disconnect with the parents or something. And I don't know why that is. Maybe it's just because, you know, when the boys kinda get some testosterone, they like get challenging with dad or whatever. And sometimes that's just like, you know, it doesn't become like a fight physically necessarily, but it can be a fight in the mind. And you start to question like, why am I believing this? Or why are these rules in place for me? And you kinda become, you kinda get to this point where you're like, as a teenager, you're like, well, you know, I'm challenging what I think and what I believe about things. And it kinda just gets to this point where there's just like an unsaid, you know, problem between your parents and you. And sometimes that's because you wanna be hanging out with your friends all the time. And you don't want your parents to pick you up at a certain place because you don't want them to see the car that they're driving or things like that. That can be, you know, a situation that, you know, is wrong. It's wrong for you to feel, you know, things like that towards your parents. And mothers and daughters, I noticed kind of, you know, they kinda clash during that time period a little bit more than they normally would. You know, and when my kids grew up and got married, some of them wanted to come back. But it's too late after that, you know. They realized how good they had it at home. No, I'm just kidding. But no, they're happily married and all that stuff. But it's, you know, it's hard for, especially for young ladies to move out of the home. And, you know, it's challenging. But I would just say this. Hey, you know, don't bow down to the pressure of your other friends saying, hey, you know, your mom and dad aren't cool or whatever. We don't have to be cool. Our job is to guide you and to help you grow up and be, you know, citizens that are, you know, adding to society, not taking away from society and making it worse. So the Bible, Pastor Brzezinski brought this verse up too. It's Proverbs chapter 13, verse 20. It says, he that walketh with wise men shall be wise, but a companion of fools shall destroy him. So, and this is true when it comes to this friendship thing. Don't, you know, don't walk with fools. Don't walk with these types of friends that are going to drag you down. You know, there's a phrase that I think I've heard Pastor Minna say a lot. And a lot of preachers bring it up because it's true. And it says, but Amnon had a friend. You know, there's friends that can ruin your life. And the decisions that Amnon made because of his friend were life changing. It cost him his life ultimately. You know, to listen to his stupid plan, it really ended his life early. So don't bow down in your heart or, you know, literally or in your heart to these pressures. Number three, put yourself in a situation, don't put yourself in a situation where probity can be called into question. Like what is probity? Well, it is basically your integrity, all right? Joseph was a man of integrity, of good moral character. And I needed a P in my outline here. So, but let's look at Genesis chapter 39. I know I gotta kind of hurry up here. But Genesis chapter 39. Now Joseph did a lot of things right. There wasn't really much that he did wrong that you can really point to, but he was a dreamer of dreams. He prophesied his dreams. He wasn't ashamed to tell his mother and his brothers what his dreams were. They didn't like him because the dreams kind of were negative towards them in some regards. He told on his brothers when they did wrong and they didn't like him because of that. And let me just tell you this kids, if your brothers and sisters are doing something that's wrong that your parents need to know, look, this isn't prison. You can tell on them and you should, especially if they're doing something really wrong or wicked. I'm not seeing me a tattle-tale about every little thing but if they're doing something really wicked or wrong, you need to tell on them, like Joseph did. And he did right when he was persecuted by his brothers and he did right even though it cost him his freedom. You know, he went to find his brothers and what'd they do? Here comes this dreamer. They threw him in a pit. They sold him into slavery. And he gets sold to this man named Potiphar. And really Joseph is a great man. He's put into control of this whole house, Potiphar's house, but Potiphar's wife is this wicked woman that continuously is trying to get him to commit adultery with her. And I don't think Joseph necessarily did anything super wrong. He just kind of got caught in a situation that he shouldn't have necessarily been in because he is the ruler of this house. He probably made the schedules, but of course Potiphar's wife might have had something to do with the setup of this thing. But basically she's just going at him hard, trying to get him to commit adultery. And let's pick up in Genesis 39 in, let's see, verse seven. It says, and it came to pass after these things that his master's wife cast his eyes upon Joseph and she said, lie with me. But he refused and said unto his master's wife, behold, my master wadeth not what is with me in the house and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand. There's none greater in this house than I, neither hath he kept back anything from me but thee because thou art his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness and sin against God? So Joseph has the right attitude, he's taking the right stand. And it says, and it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day that he hearken not unto her to lie by her or to be with her. So he's doing the right thing there too. And it says, and it came to pass about this time that Joseph went into the house to do his business and there was none of the men in the house there within. So this is the mistake he makes. He goes into the house, there's nobody there to witness. He's by himself with another woman by himself, right? And it says, she caught him by his garment saying, lie with me. And he left his garment in her hand and fled and got him out. So he did the right thing again, like as soon as he had the chance to run, he literally runs from this woman. And so I'm not saying that Joseph did something bad, but he did allow himself to get caught into a situation where his integrity could be questioned. And so what happened? Well, she has his garment in his hand and then he, you know, Potiphar throws him in prison and he gets thrown into prison. Obviously all this worked out to be good in the end, but what happened was that he got blamed for trying to do some, for basically trying to come on to his wife or whatever. Now, obviously Joseph was a man of integrity. Joseph was a man that could be counted on, but my point here is that don't put yourself in a position where your integrity could be called into question. And as young people, you know, I would say this, don't put yourself in a position where your integrity could be questioned by anybody either. You should always have some sort of witness. And I personally believe that like, especially when it comes to like dating and things like that, that you should always have somebody else around to witness what's happening. Because you know what? People do just lie. I mean, case in point right here, this woman lied about a great man of God who did nothing wrong. And so don't put yourself in these positions. The Bible says we should flee fornication in 1 Corinthians chapter 6, 18, which almost seems to me like that was written because of what Joseph did. You know, flee fornication, run away from it. And so if you're not putting yourself in a position where you can get into fornication, like Joseph not being alone with her, I mean, most people probably would not have been able to endure what Joseph endured. A lot of people don't have the kind of integrity that Joseph did, so that's why I'm saying don't put yourself in that position where you're alone with somebody else that you would be romantically involved in, teenagers. Because what was the point? Well, don't lose your purity. Don't commit fornication. The Bible says abstain from all appearances of evil. You know, if someone says, oh, those two people were, you know, if two people saw me walking out of a bar, my church members saw me walking out of a bar, what would that look like? Would it look like I was doing something evil? Yeah, well, if two people see two teenagers in a dark corner somewhere, what are they gonna think? You're doing something you shouldn't be doing. So that's why I'm saying don't put yourself in a position where your integrity can be questioned. Be aware of your situation and be strict with these types of things like dating methods. Even if your parents are less strict than you are, be strict on yourself. Because look, like I said earlier, your hormones can get the best of you and next thing you know, you're doing something that you wish you hadn't done. You're giving away something that you should've never gave away to someone that you never should've given it away to. So and at a time when you shouldn't have done it. And look, I'm not a dummy. I know how these things take place. So be aware of your situations, be strict in your dating methods, flee fornication. You know, flee it in your mind before you ever flee it in your soul. Last point, be willing to persevere even in times of great difficulty and danger. So Esther was a woman that was beautiful. She was beautiful to look upon. She came, you know, she was also of the captivity, of the Babylonian captivity. And then, you know, maybe not Babylon, so she came out of the, her family came from that captivity, but the Medes and Persians are in power at this time. And some feminists that he married refused to obey him. And she gets an opportunity to be the queen because of what Vashti did. He said, come to dinner, and she refused. And then he got rid of her as the queen and picked Esther. And the reason why he picked Esther, you know, it says that she was, you know, beautiful and all these different things. And he picked her for a specific reason. And then, you know, Haman, wicked Haman, was gonna kill all the Jews, all God's people in one day in all the provinces where they were. He hated them, and Esther, who's a beautiful woman, had a chance to do something right. But she had to stick her neck out on the line in order to do it. You know, sometimes, we're gonna be called to put our neck on the line for a greater cause. You know, every time you go sewing, obviously, I don't wanna scare you, but every time you go sewing, there is a chance that, you know, some kind of altercation could happen. Obviously, it doesn't happen a lot, but in the future, things could be different. So Esther, what was Esther's attitude? Well, Esther's attitude was, if I perish, I perish. You know, she said, you know, because Mordecai said to her, who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this? Because he was basically saying, well, you know, if you don't help, then someone else will rise up and help the Jews. But, you know, he's saying, you need to help. So my point here, though, is that, you know, perseverance is the ability to continue and continuing to do something even though it's difficult. It's not giving up. And to be bold is showing an ability to take risks, confident and courageous. Brave is to be ready to face and endure danger or pain, showing courage. And Esther showed courage because, you know, basically the rule was is that she was supposed to, she was supposed to go to the king, but only if you called. And he hadn't called her for 30 days, which is kind of weird if that's your wife. But anyway, that's besides the story. But so if she walked into that room and he, you know, gave her the thumbs down with the scepter, then she was to die. Anybody was to die that did that. So she was taking a risk. She was risking her life. But she was doing it to help others. And we as God's people and kids, look, you're just not, you're not some just, nobody's in the kingdom of God. This whole conference is put together for you to reach you and to help you and give you tools to help you in your Christian life. You know, there are gonna be, you know, in that next generation that you're in, you're gonna be called upon to be the ones that fight the battles. You know, when me and Pastor Jimenez and Pastor Anderson and all of our pastor friends are too old to fight these battles anymore, we're not gonna be able to go out and come in like Moses, you know, kind of got too old to do it. We need somebody to step up and be that Moses. We need someone to step up and be, you know, the man of God that's gonna be the one that battles and contends. And who's gonna be that person that's brave and refuses to curb down their preaching and taper it down and I'm afraid I'm gonna lose this or I'm afraid I'm gonna lose that. You gotta preach the word of God no matter what and that takes perseverance, that takes boldness and it takes bravery. And you know what, for women to follow those men and for women to be leaders in their home of their children, that takes boldness, that takes bravery, that takes perseverance. And you know what, Esther was born in some, you know, her parents were gone. She was raised by her cousin basically. And she gets picked because she's a pretty face basically and graceful or whatever. But she was more than that. And look, women's worth is much more than just beauty. Your worth is way more than that. So don't just sell yourself short. She was able to, she saved the whole Jewish population on the face of the planet because she was brave enough to walk into a room where she doesn't know whether she's gonna live or die and was put into a position where she saved everybody because she wasn't just another pretty face. She had moral character. She had integrity. She had boldness and she was brave, amen. So she, you know, she used her beauty to an advantage. I'll give you that. But she bent the ear of the most powerful man on the planet to her will to save her people and herself. And of course we know that the Jews lived on and God's people, you know, at that time, the Jews wasn't really a bad name, you know. They were still in the Old Testament there. But her attitude was, well hey, if I perish, I perish. And look, that's the attitude you kids need to have also is that hey, you know what, I want to be, you know, a leader in this next generation and you know what, I'm gonna serve God no matter what happens. I'm gonna, you know, influence my future children no matter what happens. I'm gonna stand behind my husband and the values and the moral principles that he has based upon the word of God, the Bible, and I'm gonna, you know, whether he's gonna be a pastor or just a church member, whatever, hey, you need to realize that God has called you for a specific purpose. And look, every single person I've mentioned so far are teenagers, teenagers that made a big difference in this world and you're not just nothing. You're a part of everything that we are building here at Verity Baptist Church. Well, you know, Pastor Jimenez, you're a big part of this and the little children rising up. Look, you're not nothing. Let no man despise thy youth, the Bible says. You are something and you can make a difference in this church just like everybody else and, you know, you don't have to work to fit in. You are here and, you know, we're acknowledging that by having a conference, right? So the last thing, I just wanted to talk about King David real quick. So King David, he takes, it took faith for not only, go ahead and turn to 1 Samuel chapter 17. So I kinda wanted to end on this. An ancient Wild West showdown. So the theme here is like the cowboys, you know, the Wild West and it says 1873. But this is kind of like a high noon showdown, this story here of a sharp shooter named David, a young cowboy, I mean, he didn't take care of cows, but he took care of sheep, right? So he was like a mutton buster or whatever, right? He wrangled sheep. But in this story, he smacks, he, you know, he stooge slaps a bear. He smacks around, you know, a lion or whatever. He smites a bear and a lion or whatever and protects the sheep. He's, and he's not fully a man. The Bible says that he's a stripling. And Saul calls him a youth. Find out who's, you know, whose father this youth is. So he's not a full grown man. He's called a stripling. If you look that word up, it means someone that's an adolescence, not fully a man, but not a child. So David was a stripling when he did this. Nobody wanted to fight Goliath. Goliath is out there challenging everybody. You know, who's gonna fight me? He's coming out with his battle in a ray. He's got his armor on. He's got his sword. He's got someone holding a giant shield. You know, he's kind of like, so somebody made the comment that the photo for the poster, I don't see the poster in here, but of me and Pastor Menes is not to scale. Pastor Menes, can you come up here real quick please? All right, so Pastor Menes is gonna be David. Yeah, give a cheer for David. Now, if I fall down, I probably won't get back up. So I might not fall down, it just depends. I don't want to break his Sennheiser and if I fall on this hip, I'm gonna die. So he might have to send me to the hospital. So think about, I'm just gonna kind of give you a visual story here real quick. We'll read the verses. I'll finish a couple things and we'll be done. I know it's late. So Goliath is fighting with a sword, okay? And it's a lot bigger than this sword, this is just kind of a prop. And for scale, here, let's get the scale here. This is the real scale, okay. Now, Pastor Menes is a mighty man of God. He ordained me, you know, he's a great man and he's put on this conference, he's done a great job, it's awesome. Everybody say thank you to Pastor Menes. He's had a tough day too, so. Trying to wrangle all you kids. He's the true cowboy here. So now David and Goliath are about to fight. David says, you know what, is there not a cause? Everybody else is afraid. Look, Saul is actually my size. I'm not a giant. You might look at me and say, oh, Pastor Thomas is a giant but I'm not a giant. Saul was head and shoulders above the other people. That's like what I am. Saul was probably my size. So Goliath is like this. To scale. I don't know how tall David was. Said he was ruddy, he's ruddy, of a beautiful countenance or something like that. Anyway, good looking kid, no blemishes, yeah. We'll do the filters later for Pastor Menes, I'm just kidding. So Goliath's like, come on, bring it. But what he doesn't realize is that Saul tried to give his armor to David and David said, no, I have not proved these things. But what Goliath doesn't know is that David is a master marksman, a real quick draw artist. But see, back then they didn't have revolvers like these guys here. He had a sling and he picked five smooth stones because Goliath apparently had four big brothers or something. So they're about to fight. They get a little closer. He's like, I'm gonna feed your flesh to the fowls of the earth and all this other stuff. And so Goliath's like, he's coming, he's got someone with a shield in front of him. And so right when he gets, you know, they're about to come up to action, David starts slinging his sling and then what happens? He nicked me, but. Thank you, Pastor Menes. So that wasn't as dramatic as I wanted it to be. But the point is, is that Goliath took a sword to a rock fight and he lost. And nobody else wanted to fight him. Saul didn't wanna fight him. David's older brothers didn't wanna fight him. In fact, they're like, what are you doing, you punk kid, why are you here? You're just here to, because you're naughty and all this other stuff. And everybody's discouraging him from fighting in the battle. But you know what David did? He had courage, he had boldness, he had perseverance. He didn't care what anybody else said. He said, you know what, I'm gonna go kill this giant that's defying the God of Israel. Look at 1 Samuel chapter 17, verse 49. Here's the showdown. It says that David put his hand in his bag and took thence a stone and slang it and smote the Philistine in his forehead. And the stone sunk into his forehead and he fell upon his face to the earth. So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone and smote the Philistine and slew him. But there was no sword in the hand of David because he brought the rock, the Lord Jesus Christ is pictured in that rock that sunk into his forehead and he hit him right between the eyes. He just one shot, it didn't take five stones. He took him just in case or whatever. But one shot, right between the eyes. I don't know, he'd probably, would you say he was a cowboy or a wrangler? Wrangler? Let's hear it for wranglers. Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Cowboys? Yeah! I think that's worth 2,000 points. I think the cowboy's got that one. Anyway, I don't make the rules though. So anyway, it says therefore, so this is the cool, this is kind of the gory part so if you're like squeamish. But David was so gangster, this is what he did. He said, therefore David ran and stood upon the Philistine, so his dead carcass he stands on, he took his sword and drew it out of the sheath thereof and slew him and cut off his head therewith. And when the Philistines saw, Philistine saw that their champion was dead, they fled. Now skip down to verse 54, it says, and David took the head of the Philistine and brought it to Jerusalem and he put his armor in his tent. He's like taking his spoils. And when Saul saw David go forth against the Philistine, he said unto Abner, the captain of the host, Abner, whose son is this youth? And Abner said, as I so liveth, O king, I cannot tell. He was a nobody, and nobody knew who he was. And it says that when Saul saw David, or excuse me, verse 56 it said, and the king said, inquire thou whose son this stripling is. And as David returned from the slaughter the Philistine Abner took him and brought him before Saul with the head of the Philistine in his hand. So Pastor Mejia did that red hot last year where he had the head, whatever. But David literally had a severed giant's head in his hand when he went before Saul. And you know, he's a stripling. He's not a foley man. He's like at the end of being a teenager. And here's this, I mean if he's a giant and he's 10 feet tall almost, he probably has a bigger head than most people. I have a bigger head than most people do. Hats don't fit me right sometimes. But his head must have been huge. He's just got this head in his hand. You know, it's kind of gross, right girls? Not as cool as the Esther story, not as elegant as the Esther story. This is the part that I thought the guys would like. But anyway, so he said, Saul said unto him, who art thou, thou young man? And David answered, I am the son of thy servant Jesse, the Bethlehemite. And you know what, I just want to say this. What one man can do, another man can do. Was it David's height that gave him the victory? Was it his massive upper body strength? Was it the fact that he could deadlift 600 pounds? Was it because he was a trained warrior that he won? No, it was because he feared the God of Israel and he counted on God to get him through that battle. And you know what, he was a young teenage man. And he did great things for God. For the rest of his life, just like every other story that I've told, none of those people stopped serving God their whole lives. Now did they make mistakes? Of course they did. Everybody does. But you know, the great thing about these stories is that they started serving the Lord when they were young and they continued on. And that's why I would say this, it's so important for you kids, for you teens, for you young people here, to start serving the Lord early with your life and keep serving him your whole life. Don't just dream, oh I can't wait till I can get out of my parents' house and put on my pants or my trousers. Ladies, don't dream of escaping this life. This is the best life you can live. You have, you talk about white privilege, you have Christian privilege. I've heard Pastor Anderson preach about this, Christian privilege. It's true, you might not even realize it's true, but I didn't grow up in a Christian home. I grew up in a home that was as godless as could be. I mean, it wasn't the worst ever, it wasn't like Texas Chainsaw Massacre or anything. But it was like, it was different than what the home you guys were growing up in. You're like, well you don't know my home. Well I know that your parents brought you here, and like Pastor Bzarneski was talking about the batteries, hey don't just sell your parents short. They love you, they want you here, they have you here, appreciate them because they want to have an effect on your life also. Let no man despise thy youth. The Bible says, and from a child that has known the holy scriptures. You know, you have a great responsibility. You were born basically with what you would call a Christian silver spoon in your mouth. A lot of you were born into a Christian family. You don't know anything else. You're like, well I want to see what everything else is like. It leads to a place you don't want to go. I came out of that life. I don't want to go back to that life. I got saved when I was 25, but I really wish I would have got saved when I was five. Because there's a lot of decisions I made in my life that I wish I could take back. So don't forsake your Christian godly heritage. Don't waste your heritage and your Christian privilege that you have by going out and seeing what is out there in the world. Children are open to, I want to read this article really quickly. It says, children are open to the good news. Many children, Christian leaders today point to an awakening to faith in their childhood. Studies at the George Barna Research Group show that in the U.S. state, the probability of someone coming to trust Christ is 32% for those between the ages of five and 12, but only 6% at age 19 or older. It seems that by 13, one's spiritual identity is largely set in place. This is the basic premise of what is called the 4-14 window. Unofficial studies in many contexts strongly suggest that the openness of children to the good news is present in cultures, societies around the world, regardless of religious or cultural background. Any serious mission strategy will include careful and appropriate efforts to reach children and young people. Children are shapers of their world. They are the greatest potential agents for change and transformation in the world today. Children are influencers of other children and of the adults in their lives. Many groups are seeking to use them to advance their agendas. For example, most advertising to family targets children because they have the power to influence family decisions. We must protect them from harmful and manipulative influences and guide them to the truth found in Christ. Many people who came to Christ as children attest it was a friend or peers whom strongly influenced, or excuse me, who most strongly influenced them in their faith decision. This means that not only are children a significant mission field, they're also an important mission force. Children and teens, you are the generation to pick up the torch for Christianity, but why wait? If you're saved, start Winning Souls now. Start doing it today. Making friends is important, making connections is important, but hey, Winning Souls is important. Look, this Barna Research article is really important because it tells you you are part of our mission force. We need you. We need, you know, when we're at a park, it's kind of weird for me to walk up to a big group of kids and start preaching the gospel. Parents are like, let me turn around my kids. You know, it's just like, I kind of just don't do that anymore. I feel weird, you know. Well, I don't, you know, it's not weird, but you know, if I walk up to a group of eight, 10-year-old kids, you know, parents are like, what's Lurch doing over there by my kids or whatever? What's Goliath doing talking to my children? But you know what we will do? We'll send a bunch of kids to know how to preach the gospel. What if we don't have them out there with us? Be part of our mission force and influence your friends to get them saved. In closing, this conference is, you know, obviously, again, a vision for the next generation. Someone needs to pick up that torch and fill the shoes not only of the preachers of this generation but to replace the Christian families and to, you know, be fruitful and multiply. So we kind of live in this era of Christian deconstruction you know, where people are questioning what they grew up with, questioning Christianity, and you know, it's really kind of demonic, you know, this movement to deconstruct people from Christianity, but I'll just say this. We stand on the truths of everything that we teach, and you can question whatever you want because what you're gonna find at the end of every doctrine that we teach at a church like this is you're gonna find that there's a biblical answer for it. It's not gonna be some, oh, well, just believe it because we told you so. You know, go ahead and check out what, you know, you should know what you believe. You know, at some point, kids, you're gonna have to make Christianity your own thing. They can't be riding on the coattails of your parents. You have to make Christianity yours. Jesus has to be yours, and you have to be Jesus, Jesus'. So that's all I got. Let's go ahead and pray. Lord, we thank you so much for this great conference. I pray, Lord, that this generation would rise up and do great things. All the kids in this room would rise up and do great things, and Lord, they'd make great decisions, not allow themselves to be peer pressured, Lord, that they would have character, Lord, that they would have boldness, and that they would persevere with great things, and Lord, we thank you for the great examples of teens doing wonderful things in the Bible and being a great example to them. I pray, Lord, that the teens in this room would rise up and do great things for you, Lord, and we pray these things in Jesus' name, amen. Amen, all right. Oh man, he's just pressing him into that corner, like he's wrestling a skier in the back country. I mean, I've seen things like that before. And Moses knocks him down right there. That is not a good start, folks. Not a good start for a white kid. Spears him right into the corner. The last time I saw that was behind the barn shed, back down in Sweetwater. And it looks like Noah is oh, and white kid hits Moses with the tray right there. And then socks him. By the way, Noah, I see you talking all that trash up there. Moses has white kid in the corner, throws him right across the ropes, and oh, clotheslines him right over there. Right there in the middle. Crowd is cheering for Moses. Looks like Moses is taking a whooping. Oh, and stuns him right there. Got him in a leg lock. And Noah has Moses in a leg lock again. And, oh, he's got him in a head lock right there. Kicked in a leg. And he kicked him out of there like a reprobate getting kicked out of church. And smacks him right on the head with the tray. Folks, trays are for bacon biscuits. They're not for smacking people over the head. And Noah has Moses. Moses looks like he's exhausted, but he gets one good shot to Noah. And right now they're just beating each other up outside of the ring. Oh, and he kicks him right in the stomach. Knocks him down. And Pastor Jimenez comes over, gets Noah, and throws him right into the pole. Gets Noah and throws him right into the pole. And it looks like Pastor Jimenez is helping up his friend Moses. And Noah knocked out right at Dwight Cage as body slams him right over the top there. All three are pretty exhausted. All four are pretty exhausted right outside the ring. I don't know, maybe we could probably call this a tied match and call it a night unless one of them decides to get up. Folks, the church floor ain't for sleeping. Oh, but it looks like Noah decides to get up. But he's not finished with Moses yet. Instead he throws Moses back into the ring. Has him in another leg lock. Oh, and he gets out of that leg lock. And, oh! Throws him down. Oh, and throws him backwards. Oh. Oh. And that also has to hurt. And Moses escapes that one right there. Oh. Puts him in a leg lock. Oh, and he escapes the leg lock. And then Noah comes up there. He starts dragging him. Folks, that's the stuff we did back in middle school. That is not adult stuff to be doing right there. He escapes that one. He hits Pastor Jimenez in the hand with the tray. While Noah is dragging Moses across the floor while stomping the tray on his chest. And Dwight Kid misses him. But looks like he gets an injury in the process. And then Moses tags in Pastor Jimenez and then close lines him. Oh, and he close lines Dwight Kid again. And then he body slams Dwight Kid. Perhaps this is going to be a repeat of last year folks. Kicks him three times on the chest or twice. And then he throws Dwight Kid out of the ring. Like he should have done this morning. And also hits Dwight Kid over the head with the tray. And hits Dwight Kid again with the tray. And it looks like they're headed towards the pulpit area. Pastors kind of taking him into his own territory right there. That's where Pastor has most of the power is right there in the pulpit area. While Noah oh and then Moses coming over there beating up Noah. And now they're all beating up each other in the pulpit area. You know I wish we could see some of this stuff during football but they wouldn't allow that. Pastor Jimenez hits Dwight Kid with the tray. And lands the tray on him again. And then Pastor Jimenez has Dwight Kid in a headlock and he slams him against the ring. And it looks like Pastor Jimenez is setting up for some sort of finishing move. But Dwight Kid escapes it and Noah comes up and socks Pastor Jimenez in the face. Look nobody should be socking their pastor in the face because that is just unacceptable. And Pastor Jimenez fights back. Getting Noah into the corner. Oh and kick right to the face. Oh and lands him right there with the leg lock. Noah escapes Pastor Jimenez. And then they hit each other in the tray and it looks like I guess this could be a double knockout. Noah complaining that he can't see. He is trying to inch his way over and he tags Dwight Kid in. Okay now I'm going to tell you all something. If somebody took video or picture right there I'm going to tell you this much. Social justice warriors wouldn't be happy with it. Dwight Kid leaving the ring. Oh what's this he's got? He has the Windex using a little bit of chemical warfare here. Socks him. Alright so wait a second. So Dwight Kid what part of maybe harmful or fatal if swallowed do you not understand? Noah holding Moses so he oh he tries to spit the Windex into Noah's into Moses face but he ends up hitting Noah in the face. That's when you need to seek a physician folks according to the bottle. And then Moses using that same move on Dwight Kid and it looks like they're all having chemical reactions down there. Okay this is where you all need to get them to the eye wash station because they look like they're having seizures or something. You know that's the kind of stuff we'd see when people eat bad crawdads back in Sweetwater. Cause let me tell you something. And Moses does that to himself while Pastor is putting his hands on his head saying I mean what in the world? I'm pretty sure we're going to hear a sermon next time about why you shouldn't be inhaling or ingesting Windex. But I guess it's part of Pastor Jimenez plans. Pastor Jimenez is doing something to Jacob here. He's rubbing I think he's rubbing the Windex in his face. And then he's got Dwight Kid Oh And he slams Dwight Kid right when he's and it looks like Pastor Jimenez escapes that. You see one advantage that Pastor Jimenez here has is he's got some jujitsu skills. So that should I don't know about boxing though. Dwight Kid now could Pastor Jimenez around Now they're both hitting each other. Last time I saw this was back down in Texas when two of them were fighting over a girl. This was two random individuals. That was the last time I saw that happen. Okay now it sounds like Pastor Jimenez has a phone call now so be quiet. Hi yes this is Pastor Jimenez. Now that is a disgraceful move. That is a cheat move folks. I do not know why in world Baptist sports people think that would be acceptable. Looks like he's about to slam him right there. And he throws Noah over. Alright and he knocks down Moses knocks down Dwight Kidd. Got him in the leg lariat. Dwight Kidd on the ground looking pretty injured. Alright. Oh! And knocks him down once again. And it looks like Dwight Kidd's leg has an injury to it. So something is happening here. And we don't know what it is. Oh I see what he's doing. He's tuning up the band. He's got the flute. He got the clarinet for the sweet chin music. Let me tell you. Nah nah folks. That was not a sweet chin music. That was a sweet chin orchestra with all the bells and whistles. So they're using bananas for some reason. Now I seem to remember that they were not supposed to allow steel bananas in the match. And it seems like there's an argument going on. Oh. Alright. And he gets ooh. Okay so what are they doing right here? They got the bananas on his chest. And it looks like they're going in for a move. And it looks to be looks to be he's winding up for oh it's the people's elbow. I think they hit that one so hard. And Moses looks like he is eliminated. The crowd is not very happy about this. Moses is likely unconscious from that very horrible people's elbow. And Noah getting very aggressive with Dave up there to play the music. Oh and now that was completely unacceptable. And unfortunately it looks like Noah and Dwight Kidd win this match tonight. Which was against prediction. And however, wait a second what's going on here in this corner? Dwight Kidd needs help up. It looks like he has been badly injured. As a result I guess he leaves the belt to Moses right there. I mean maybe that's an act of goodwill but I don't know. You don't know Dwight Kidd and what he does. And now Dwight Kidd still, even though Dwight Kidd has the belt he is still unable to walk. Like who knows if this is going to give him any ammo for And Moses gets up and he makes it worse. As Moses way of saying see you later. Moses giving a hug to his mother. But still Dwight Kidd looks to be injured. Looks like something is going on there. I am not sure. Doctors are probably going to come in and have a look at him. But I'll tell you this much. You see Dwight Kidd kind of deserved that little injury because I mean what he has said to Pastor this morning and last year has been completely unacceptable.
