The Aussies are very zealous soul winners. They were out there just from... 21:30.700 --> 21:36.620 dawn till dusk preaching and of course we had several people from our church go and 21:36.620 --> 21:38.020 various churches. 21:38.020 --> 21:42.380 So lots of churches were represented on the trip and it was a great time. 21:42.380 --> 21:46.700 I would put the receptivity of the island of Fiji on par with the Philippines. 21:46.700 --> 21:51.700 I mean it really is just an island of very friendly people. 21:51.700 --> 21:55.940 That's something that really stood out to me is just really how friendly everyone is. 21:55.940 --> 21:58.580 They're very hospitable people and pretty much 21:58.700 --> 22:01.380 Everyone that you talked to wanted to get saved. 22:01.380 --> 22:02.860 They wanted to hear. 22:02.860 --> 22:04.940 I had an instance of one time where 22:04.940 --> 22:07.460 I was preaching to two sisters where they just didn't pray 22:07.460 --> 22:10.020 with me at the end, but that was it. 22:10.020 --> 22:14.860 The rest of the time, everybody was listening and praying 22:14.860 --> 22:16.340 at the end to get saved. 22:16.340 --> 22:19.060 And so that's just, it's not something 22:19.060 --> 22:21.200 you get to experience here in the States, or really 22:21.200 --> 22:22.900 very many other places in the world. 22:22.900 --> 22:24.820 It's a very Christian nation. 22:24.820 --> 22:25.740 I will say this. 22:26.700 --> 22:26.800 you 22:27.400 --> 22:33.700 A couple things that shocked me about the island of Fiji is how many Indians are on the island of Fiji. 22:33.700 --> 22:41.400 About a third of the people there are of, like, you know, from, you know, their heritage would be from India. 22:41.400 --> 22:48.900 And so because of that, there's a lot of Hinduism that's influencing the schools, government, things like that. 22:48.900 --> 22:51.400 So that was something I was not expecting. 22:51.400 --> 22:55.400 And I did, I was able personally to get to... 22:55.400 --> 22:59.600 girls who were Hindu convert them to Christianity. 22:59.600 --> 23:02.880 They were some college-aged girls and I've never been able to get 23:02.880 --> 23:09.040 you know somebody that was a Muslim or a Hindu. I mean I've been able to preach the gospel 23:09.040 --> 23:10.320 to many people like that 23:10.320 --> 23:14.480 but nobody would ever pray with me. These two girls actually decided to convert 23:14.480 --> 23:18.840 and to believe on Jesus. So that was really cool. That was a highlight of the trip for me as well. 23:18.840 --> 23:21.840 Another thing that kinda shocked me is 23:21.840 --> 23:23.400 how many dudes wear skirts? 23:23.400 --> 23:28.840 over there. Like I kind of thought that was just a Scottish thing, but no, the 23:28.840 --> 23:34.480 the island of Fiji, many of the men wear skirts and it's kind of a form of a 23:34.480 --> 23:41.000 formal type dress. So like the dress code for the dudes in the schools was skirts. 23:41.100 --> 23:43.740 So you had all the women wearing dresses. 23:43.740 --> 23:44.860 Hey, praise God for that. 23:44.860 --> 23:47.660 It was almost backwards of America, in a way. 23:47.660 --> 23:49.820 It's like all the women were wearing dresses, 23:49.820 --> 23:52.620 but all the dudes were wearing dresses, too. 23:52.620 --> 23:56.220 It was just bizarre. 23:56.220 --> 23:58.380 So anyways, there was a couple opportunities. 23:58.380 --> 24:01.300 I got to slide that in to some people. 24:01.300 --> 24:05.060 Hey, you know that's a sin, right? 24:05.060 --> 24:07.420 So that was something that caught me off guard. 24:07.700 --> 24:11.380 But in general, I mean, Fiji is just an amazing island. 24:11.380 --> 24:12.380 I want to go back. 24:12.380 --> 24:14.180 I mean, there's tons of people there still 24:14.180 --> 24:17.340 that need to hear the gospel. 24:17.340 --> 24:19.100 Fiji is a group of islands. 24:19.100 --> 24:21.220 So it's not just that we went to the main island 24:21.220 --> 24:23.500 and we went to one of the larger cities on the island, 24:23.500 --> 24:27.180 but there's really a group of islands that make up Fiji. 24:27.180 --> 24:32.020 Not to mention, there's also the island of Samoa and then Tonga. 24:32.020 --> 24:35.260 And all of these islands, along with the Marshallese 24:35.260 --> 24:35.700 He's a mini. 24:35.700 --> 24:40.900 Pacific Islands, islands in the Pacific, South Pacific, are very Christian. 24:41.300 --> 24:47.060 I mean everybody we're pretty much running into would at least give lip service to Christianity. 24:47.060 --> 24:53.140 They claim to be a Christian and so on top of that once you told them that they weren't saved they 24:53.140 --> 24:58.740 were eager to hear and so I'm really interested to even maybe venture out at some point in the 24:58.740 --> 25:04.740 future and hit a place like Samoa or Tonga or some of the islands that are nearby because what 25:04.740 --> 25:08.740 we were told is that there's much less Indians there so there's a lot less Hinduism. 25:09.300 --> 25:13.260 influence and so the you know the ideas that they're going to be even more 25:13.260 --> 25:17.980 receptive to the gospel there you could have similar numbers and so it's a great 25:17.980 --> 25:25.420 trip I'm thankful to pastor Shelley for supporting us and going out there I'm 25:25.420 --> 25:30.940 thankful to pastor Sepulveda for the efforts of his church several people in 25:30.940 --> 25:34.820 his church had a lot to do with organizing that mission trip also brother 25:34.820 --> 25:37.300 James and brother Kenton they went down there 25:37.300 --> 25:39.400 like a week before we got there. 25:39.400 --> 25:42.660 And because of that, we were able to get into six schools 25:42.660 --> 25:45.400 and preach in six different schools throughout the week 25:45.400 --> 25:46.400 when we were there. 25:46.400 --> 25:48.660 Just the exact same way we had been doing this 25:48.660 --> 25:49.960 in the Philippines, where you get to get up, 25:49.960 --> 25:51.660 you get in your own classroom, 25:51.660 --> 25:53.500 and many people got saved from that. 25:53.500 --> 25:56.000 I believe the total number was 888. 25:56.000 --> 25:57.700 Is that, was that the number you remember? 25:57.700 --> 26:02.200 Yeah, so 888 kids got saved just in the schools alone. 26:02.200 --> 26:04.640 And so it was a great opportunity. 26:05.300 --> 26:09.860 thankful just for all the hard workers that went out to preach the gospel and 26:09.860 --> 26:13.620 if you've never been on a mission trip I really encourage you to make that 26:13.620 --> 26:18.300 decision. Amen. 37:04.800 --> 37:09.840 Amen. Well, I want to start off by just thank you, Pastor Shelley, for the opportunity to preach. 37:09.840 --> 37:14.880 It's always a great honor. I'm always thankful anytime I get an opportunity to open the Word 37:14.880 --> 37:20.720 of God and preach from it. And I want to preach a sermon based on this chapter here in Numbers, 37:20.720 --> 37:22.200 chapter 32. 37:22.500 --> 37:25.500 and pull out some spiritual applications 37:25.500 --> 37:26.660 that we can take from this. 37:26.660 --> 37:28.140 But first, let's kind of get an idea 37:28.140 --> 37:30.580 as to what's taking place here. 37:30.580 --> 37:32.980 The 40 years of them wandering in the wilderness 37:32.980 --> 37:33.820 has come to an end, 37:33.820 --> 37:35.340 and they're ready to go in 37:35.340 --> 37:37.940 and to possess the promised land. 37:38.100 --> 37:40.820 And you'll notice in these first couple of verses, 37:40.820 --> 37:44.380 Reuben and Gad, they come to Moses and they say that, 37:44.380 --> 37:47.740 hey, we have cattle and this land on the other side 37:47.740 --> 37:52.420 of Jordan, the land of Bashan and Sihon, 37:52.420 --> 37:55.240 this is a land that's good for us. 37:55.240 --> 37:58.120 This is a good inheritance for us. 37:58.120 --> 38:02.740 We wanna lay it hold of this possession to be ours. 38:02.740 --> 38:05.600 And so they present this idea to Moses. 38:05.800 --> 38:14.360 And Moses is a little concerned at first because he doesn't want the fellow brethren, the children 38:14.360 --> 38:21.680 of Israel to be discouraged and to not go in and possess the land if the two and a half 38:21.680 --> 38:25.160 tribes stay back and don't go into battle with them. 38:25.160 --> 38:30.880 He's afraid that they're going to be destroyed like the children of Israel in the wilderness 38:30.880 --> 38:33.400 were destroyed when they didn't have faith. 38:33.600 --> 38:37.040 when they got the report from the 12 spies, right? 38:37.040 --> 38:40.720 The 12 spies went out, 10 were bad and two were good. 38:40.720 --> 38:42.880 And they didn't have faith to go into 38:42.880 --> 38:44.880 and inherit the promised land. 38:44.880 --> 38:47.040 And so because of that, they were destroyed. 38:47.040 --> 38:50.240 And Moses, he's worried that that same thing 38:50.240 --> 38:51.840 is gonna take place. 38:51.840 --> 38:54.560 And you're gonna see a glimpse of the hearts 38:54.560 --> 38:58.080 of the men of Reuben and Gad and the half tribe of Menasseh. 38:58.080 --> 39:00.560 When we look at verse number 16, 39:00.560 --> 39:01.600 let's go ahead and just read. 39:01.600 --> 39:02.900 Read a couple of verses here. 39:03.300 --> 39:06.600 It says, and they came near unto him and said, we will build 39:06.600 --> 39:11.200 sheepfolds here for our cattle and cities for our little ones. 39:11.600 --> 39:14.800 But we ourselves will go ready-armed before the children 39:14.800 --> 39:20.100 of Israel until we have brought them unto their place and our 39:20.100 --> 39:23.600 little one shall dwell in the Finns cities because of the 39:23.600 --> 39:25.000 inhabitants of the land. 39:25.500 --> 39:26.800 Notice this in verse 18. 39:27.100 --> 39:36.640 We will not return unto our houses until the children of Israel have inherited every man his inheritance. 39:36.640 --> 39:42.200 And that's the title of my sermon this morning is Every Man His Inheritance. 39:42.200 --> 39:45.440 The children of Reuben, Gad, and the half tribe of Manasseh, 39:45.440 --> 39:51.040 they were not just satisfied with gaining their inheritance, with gaining their possession, 39:51.040 --> 39:55.040 but rather they had a willing heart to go to battle with their brothers. 39:55.100 --> 40:01.100 to bring them into their inheritance, to bring them into their possession of the 40:01.100 --> 40:06.600 promised land so that way they too could take part in that inheritance. 40:06.800 --> 40:09.800 They had a heart to serve their brethren. 40:09.800 --> 40:16.500 And that's really the focus of my sermon this morning is every man, his inheritance. 40:16.500 --> 40:27.000 That's the mentality as Christians that we should have for our brethren, those that would be saved, those that would call on the name of the Lord. 40:27.000 --> 40:33.100 We should have a heart to see every man receive his inheritance. 40:33.100 --> 40:34.800 And you notice that most 40:34.800 --> 40:37.960 Moses basically gives them some warnings. 40:37.960 --> 40:47.080 He warns them about what happens if they choose not to go into this land and battle with them. 40:47.080 --> 40:49.140 Skip down to verse number 22. 40:49.140 --> 40:52.380 The Bible says in the land be subdued before the Lord. 40:52.380 --> 40:56.060 afterward ye shall return and be guiltless before the LORD. 40:56.500 --> 41:00.700 and before Israel, and this land shall be your possession before the Lord. 41:00.700 --> 41:05.340 But if ye will not do so, behold ye have sinned against the Lord, 41:05.340 --> 41:08.500 and be sure your sin will find you out." 41:08.500 --> 41:12.500 Moses makes it clear that if they do not choose to go in, 41:12.900 --> 41:18.740 and battle alongside their brethren, that this would actually be a sin unto them. 41:18.740 --> 41:22.660 They would be sinning against God and they would not be held guiltless. 41:22.660 --> 41:25.780 There would be consequences for that. 41:25.780 --> 41:31.300 And this is what I really want to focus on is some of the spiritual application 41:31.300 --> 41:33.380 that we can take from the Old Testament. 41:33.380 --> 41:35.700 You know, this is what the Old Testament is there for. 41:35.700 --> 41:40.340 It's for us to learn from, for us to look at and apply these truths to our life. 41:40.340 --> 41:40.900 So that way. 41:40.900 --> 41:43.220 we can be better Christians. 41:43.220 --> 41:45.580 Go back to the beginning of this chapter. 41:45.580 --> 41:50.780 I want to kind of go through and just slowly dissect just some really great points that 41:50.780 --> 41:51.940 the Bible is making here. 41:56.100 --> 41:58.100 Let's start back at verse number two. 41:59.300 --> 42:03.300 The Bible says in verse number two, the children of Gad and the children of Reuben 42:04.500 --> 42:09.780 came and spake unto Moses and to Eliezer the priest and unto the princes of the congregation saying 42:10.340 --> 42:17.620 Adaroth and Dibon and Jaser and Nimra and Heshbon and Elielo and Shebam and Nebo and beyond. 42:18.300 --> 42:25.520 Even the country which the Lord smoked before the congregation of Israel is a land for cattle and I servants have cattle 42:26.220 --> 42:31.220 Wherefore said they if we have noticed this found grace in thy sight 42:31.780 --> 42:36.720 Let this land be given unto thy servants for possession and bring us not over Jordan 42:36.720 --> 42:43.580 So notice in order to inherit anything. It's because of finding grace in the sight of God 42:44.100 --> 42:49.780 Right? It's finding grace in the sight of God that we're able to inherit any of the 42:49.780 --> 42:55.740 possessions that God has for us, specifically salvation. Now notice though, what did they 42:55.740 --> 43:01.440 do first? And I want to highlight this as well. Let me find this in the verse. I didn't 43:01.440 --> 43:03.340 write it down. Verse number two. 43:03.500 --> 43:05.900 It says, the children of God and the children of the room, 43:05.900 --> 43:09.000 it came and spake unto Moses. 43:09.000 --> 43:10.200 So what did they have to do? 43:10.200 --> 43:14.500 They had to open their mouth seeking grace in the sight of God. 43:14.500 --> 43:16.200 And this relates to salvation. 43:16.200 --> 43:18.000 Go to Acts chapter number 20. 43:18.000 --> 43:21.000 Go to, and of course, hold your place here in Numbers 32. 43:21.000 --> 43:24.000 We're going to be coming back here throughout the sermon. 43:25.400 --> 43:27.700 But go to Acts chapter number 20. 43:31.000 --> 43:34.000 Acts chapter number 20, look at verse number 32. 43:35.300 --> 43:38.800 The Bible says, and now brethren, I commend you to God. 43:39.000 --> 43:44.800 Notice this, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up 43:45.100 --> 43:51.000 and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified. 43:51.100 --> 43:57.300 So the Bible is basically saying that the way in which we inherit that possession of salvation. 43:57.700 --> 44:01.300 is through the grace of God, it's through the grace of His Word. 44:01.300 --> 44:05.800 And this is why it's so important that when we go out, we are using the Word of God. 44:05.800 --> 44:09.300 Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. 44:09.300 --> 44:13.400 And the grace of His Word is how we get saved. 44:13.600 --> 44:20.160 for by grace are you saved through faith. It's the grace of God, his great mercy that he died for us 44:20.160 --> 44:27.600 and he gave us an opportunity to be saved in his son. And notice the Bible says, for whosoever shall 44:27.600 --> 44:34.320 call upon the name of the Lord. Right? It's not just enough to say that you believe in Jesus Christ 44:34.320 --> 44:40.800 in your heart. Many people can say, oh yeah, I believe, but unless they ask God for salvation in faith, 44:41.200 --> 44:42.200 Well, guess what? 44:42.200 --> 44:43.200 They didn't get saved. 44:43.200 --> 44:46.520 You know, and many times I had this happen to me. 44:46.520 --> 44:51.080 I had somebody not pray with me over this trip in Fiji. 44:51.080 --> 44:52.080 And you know what? 44:52.080 --> 44:53.080 They didn't get saved. 44:53.080 --> 44:54.120 They understood everything. 44:54.120 --> 44:58.160 And typically when a person doesn't open their mouth and call upon the name of the Lord is 44:58.160 --> 45:00.000 because they don't actually believe it. 45:00.000 --> 45:01.000 Right? 45:01.000 --> 45:02.760 They're not putting their faith in God. 45:02.760 --> 45:03.800 There's some hang up there. 45:03.800 --> 45:08.860 There's some there's something that's causing them not to put their faith in Jesus. 45:08.860 --> 45:09.200 And so. 45:09.200 --> 45:11.200 as a result, they won't call in the name of the Lord. 45:11.200 --> 45:15.200 So you see a great picture here in numbers where Ruben Gad, 45:15.200 --> 45:19.200 they are coming, they're speaking, and they're doing it 45:19.200 --> 45:23.200 seeking grace in Moses's sight. Go back to Ruben, 45:23.200 --> 45:27.200 I'm sorry, go back to numbers 32, numbers 32. 45:29.700 --> 45:32.500 Numbers 32, skip down to verse number six. 45:32.500 --> 45:37.000 The Bible says, and Moses said unto the children of Gad, 45:37.000 --> 45:40.900 and to the children of Reuben, shall your brethren go to war 45:40.900 --> 45:43.300 and shall ye sit here? 45:43.300 --> 45:46.600 So Moses is basically confronting them. 45:46.600 --> 45:51.300 You know, he's not opposed to them inheriting this land. 45:52.500 --> 45:54.900 But he kind of brings up this concept. 45:54.900 --> 45:59.900 He's bringing up this idea that, hey, just because you're saved 45:59.900 --> 46:02.900 doesn't mean that you should just be satisfied with just that. 46:03.400 --> 46:03.900 Right? 46:04.100 --> 46:06.700 Shall we continue in sin that grace abound? 46:06.700 --> 46:08.500 God forbid, the Bible says. 46:08.800 --> 46:11.400 You know, Moses is a picture of the law here. 46:11.500 --> 46:16.600 And so Moses is coming to them and saying, hey, you still have work to do. 46:16.900 --> 46:21.300 Even though you can inherit this land, you still have work to do. 46:21.300 --> 46:25.300 And Moses, we can see as being a picture of the law here 46:25.300 --> 46:29.800 that's going to be convicting Ruben and Gad and the half tribe of Menasseh 46:29.800 --> 46:33.000 to actually go and do something for the Lord. 46:33.000 --> 46:39.200 Once they've received that inheritance, the Bible says in Mark 16 verse 15, 46:39.200 --> 46:40.000 you have to turn there. 46:40.000 --> 46:43.200 The Bible says, and he said unto them, go ye into all the world. 46:43.600 --> 46:46.160 and preach the gospel to every creature. 46:46.160 --> 46:51.600 The Bible is commanding us to be a preacher, to be a soul winner. 46:51.600 --> 46:54.240 The Bible is commanding us to go out. 46:54.240 --> 46:56.960 Similar to how Moses is commanding the men, 46:56.960 --> 46:59.840 hey, you're not going to just stay here and do nothing. 46:59.840 --> 47:02.640 You should go out and fight with your brethren. 47:03.920 --> 47:05.440 Skip down to verse number seven. 47:06.100 --> 47:09.800 The Bible says, and wherefore discourage the heart of the children of Israel 47:09.800 --> 47:14.000 from going over into the land which the Lord have given them. 47:14.000 --> 47:17.200 So if they don't go fight with their brethren. 47:20.200 --> 47:25.200 the children of Israel, those that were there to go in and fight, 47:25.200 --> 47:27.200 they were going to be discouraged. 47:27.200 --> 47:31.200 And in the same way, those in the wilderness were discouraged 47:31.200 --> 47:34.200 and didn't believe and therefore didn't inherit the promise, 47:34.200 --> 47:36.200 they didn't inherit the possession. 47:37.400 --> 47:41.300 these two could be discouraged and not inherit. 47:41.300 --> 47:44.800 And there's a correlation here with a preacher 47:44.800 --> 47:46.900 and going out and preaching the gospel. 47:46.900 --> 47:49.800 And if that preacher decides not to go out, 47:49.800 --> 47:53.500 if he decides not to follow Moses and the law 47:53.500 --> 47:56.700 and the commandments of God to go and preach the gospel, 47:56.700 --> 47:58.800 well, then many people are going to be destroyed. 47:59.100 --> 48:03.100 Many people are not going to gain that inheritance. 48:03.100 --> 48:04.600 Go to Hebrews chapter number three. 48:04.600 --> 48:09.800 We have this brought up in the New Testament Hebrews chapter number three. 48:12.500 --> 48:17.060 It's talking about the children of Israel that were discouraged and then destroyed. 48:17.060 --> 48:18.900 Why were they destroyed? 48:18.900 --> 48:25.380 What caused them not to enter in and claim that inheritance that God had promised them? 48:26.740 --> 48:28.740 Hebrews chapter number three, look at verse 18. 48:30.020 --> 48:35.380 The Bible says, and to whom swear he that they should not enter into his rest, 48:35.940 --> 48:38.260 but to them that believe not. 48:39.400 --> 48:43.700 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief. 48:43.900 --> 48:48.800 The Bible says, but if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost. 48:49.100 --> 48:54.500 Right. Those that don't hear the gospel, those that don't hear a clear presentation, 48:54.700 --> 48:56.200 they will be destroyed. 48:56.500 --> 48:58.600 Their heart will be discouraged. 48:58.900 --> 49:04.200 They will not enter in to possess the inheritance that God has for them. 49:04.500 --> 49:07.400 You know, this is why it's so important as Christians that 49:07.400 --> 49:14.360 We're not just satisfied with the inheritance that we receive in belief and faith in Jesus Christ, 49:14.360 --> 49:20.440 that that earnest of our inheritance, the Holy Spirit, each one of us that are believe in Jesus, 49:20.440 --> 49:24.760 we get sealed with that earnest of our inheritance, the Holy Spirit. 49:24.760 --> 49:29.400 But we shouldn't be just satisfied with our inheritance, but rather, 49:29.400 --> 49:33.640 we should be willing to see that every man receives his inheritance. 49:34.100 --> 49:36.900 We should be willing to go out and open our mouth. 49:36.900 --> 49:39.900 And if we don't open our mouth, many will be destroyed. 49:39.900 --> 49:41.600 Many will go to hell. 49:41.600 --> 49:44.500 Flip over to Romans chapter number 10. 49:44.500 --> 49:47.700 Romans chapter number 10. 49:47.700 --> 49:51.000 Another really famous passage. 49:51.000 --> 49:54.600 And this is something that I really want to encourage people 49:54.600 --> 49:57.700 who are on the fence about soul winning or just maybe not 49:57.700 --> 50:00.500 going as soul winning as often as they should. 50:01.100 --> 50:04.500 is you need to understand the importance of soul winning, 50:04.500 --> 50:06.500 that there are lives at stake. 50:06.500 --> 50:09.200 Many people are going to die and go to hell. 50:09.200 --> 50:10.900 You know, we got a lot of people saved in Fiji, 50:10.900 --> 50:14.600 but there are thousands more that are going to die and go to hell. 50:14.600 --> 50:17.400 They'll never hear a clear presentation of the gospel. 50:17.400 --> 50:19.600 You know, it's not just Fiji, it's all around the world. 50:20.000 --> 50:26.240 I mean, there are people everywhere that are going to be, you know, destitute from hearing the gospel. 50:26.240 --> 50:28.040 They're not going to hear that preacher. 50:28.040 --> 50:29.880 That preacher isn't going to come unto him. 50:29.880 --> 50:33.960 And that's why the feet of the preacher are so beautiful. 50:33.960 --> 50:37.640 They're beautiful in the sight of God because it's so rare. 50:37.640 --> 50:42.120 The Bible says in Romans 10, look at verse 14, how then shall they call on him and whom 50:42.120 --> 50:46.640 they have not believed and how shall they believe on him and who they have not heard? 50:47.000 --> 50:49.240 and how shall they hear without a preacher? 50:49.240 --> 50:53.960 And how shall they preach except they be sent as it is written? 50:53.960 --> 50:58.520 How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace 50:58.520 --> 51:00.600 and bring glad tidings of good things? 51:00.600 --> 51:04.760 You have an obligation to go out and preach the gospel. 51:06.120 --> 51:09.080 It's something that you, it should be a burden on your heart. 51:09.080 --> 51:11.560 Something that you should desire to go out. 51:11.560 --> 51:13.000 Weak in and weak out. 51:13.800 --> 51:18.500 preaching the gospel to the loss because many people are going to be destroyed if they don't hear this message 51:19.840 --> 51:22.100 Without a preacher, how are they going to believe? 51:22.900 --> 51:28.940 All right, how are they going to call on the name of the Lord without the preacher being sent out into the highways and hedges? 51:29.120 --> 51:30.700 You know and I 51:30.800 --> 51:34.240 This is one of the reasons why most of us are all here today, right? 51:34.240 --> 51:40.860 This church is a beacon for soul winners to equip them with everything that they need 51:40.860 --> 51:43.680 to go out and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. 51:44.700 --> 51:47.900 And you should be thankful for the church that you have. 51:47.900 --> 51:53.900 Don't look at this church as being something that's, you know, just a weekly thing that you check off the box. 51:53.900 --> 51:56.300 You know, you check the box on, right? 51:56.300 --> 51:58.300 You got your checklist of Christianity. 51:58.300 --> 51:59.500 You're just checking the box. 51:59.500 --> 52:02.500 No, you should recognize, hey, this is something that's very important. 52:02.500 --> 52:05.900 The work that we're doing is very important. 52:07.400 --> 52:14.800 The rest of the tribes, they needed Ruben Gad and the half tribe in Nasi to go out to battle with their brethren. 52:14.800 --> 52:17.600 They needed them. It was important. 52:17.600 --> 52:21.800 It wasn't like, you know, they could have just set back. 52:21.800 --> 52:23.400 Oh, they'll get it done. 52:23.400 --> 52:28.600 No, they needed their brethren to come with them to help them inherit. 52:28.600 --> 52:34.600 Go back to go back to numbers 32 numbers chapter number 32. 52:38.700 --> 52:42.600 So Moses, he brings up the fact that they're going to be discouraged. 52:42.600 --> 52:46.500 And he kind of does this playback of everything that happens in the wilderness. 52:47.200 --> 52:49.600 And we're going to skip forward to verse number 16. 52:50.700 --> 52:56.200 Verse number 16, the Bible says, and they came near unto him and said, 52:56.600 --> 53:02.200 we will be build sheepfolds here for our cattle and cities for our little ones. 53:02.600 --> 53:08.120 but we ourselves will go ready armed before the children of Israel until we have brought them 53:08.120 --> 53:13.960 unto their place and our little ones shall dwell in thin cities because of the inhabitants of the 53:13.960 --> 53:21.080 land. We will not return unto our houses until the children of Israel have inherited every man 53:21.080 --> 53:25.720 his inheritance." And this is what I want to challenge you with right now is that we should 53:25.720 --> 53:28.040 We should not just be satisfied. 53:28.040 --> 53:29.460 We should not be satisfied with... 53:29.700 --> 53:31.300 you know, the inheritance that we've gotten. 53:31.400 --> 53:36.000 We should not be just satisfied with the work that we've done to this point in our lives. 53:36.800 --> 53:38.200 We should never be satisfied. 53:38.900 --> 53:42.700 We shouldn't be satisfied until every man receives his inheritance. 53:43.200 --> 53:44.600 That should be our mentality. 53:44.700 --> 53:50.900 I really love the attitude that Reuben and Gad have here because they're willing to go all the way to the end. 53:51.200 --> 53:54.600 all the way to the bitter end, to fight every battle, 53:54.600 --> 53:57.600 so that way every man can receive his inheritance. 53:57.600 --> 53:59.400 That's the attitude that we should have. 53:59.400 --> 54:00.800 You know what that attitude is? 54:00.800 --> 54:02.400 It's an attitude of serving. 54:02.400 --> 54:05.400 Right? Christianity is all about serving. 54:05.400 --> 54:09.800 So many people today have a mixed up view of what Christianity should be. 54:09.800 --> 54:12.200 Go to Philippians chapter number two. 54:12.200 --> 54:13.800 Go to Philippians chapter number two. 54:14.200 --> 54:19.400 So many Christians today have such a messed up view of what Christianity should be. 54:19.400 --> 54:24.600 They come to church seeking to find what they can get out of church. 54:24.600 --> 54:27.700 What is the preacher have for me today? 54:27.700 --> 54:31.700 Now, obviously that's an element of church, right? 54:31.700 --> 54:36.200 We come to church to hear, to listen, but that's the only reason some people come to church. 54:36.200 --> 54:38.400 It's just to hear from the Word of God. 54:38.400 --> 54:40.000 Now, that's a great reason to come. 54:40.400 --> 54:42.800 Don't let me discourage you in that. 54:42.800 --> 54:46.400 But listen, Christianity is not just about receiving. 54:46.400 --> 54:48.400 Christianity is all about giving. 54:48.400 --> 54:51.400 Christianity is all about serving others. 54:51.400 --> 54:54.400 Notice what the Bible says here in Philippians chapter number two, 54:54.400 --> 54:55.900 verse five. 54:55.900 --> 54:59.400 It says, look not every man on his own things, 54:59.400 --> 55:02.800 but every man also on the things of others. 55:02.800 --> 55:05.600 So it doesn't say, hey, you know, don't worry about yourself. 55:06.000 --> 55:09.720 Because we should, we should for our own well-being come to church so we can get fed. 55:09.720 --> 55:14.640 We should for our own well-being go out and work hard to provide for our family. 55:14.640 --> 55:19.680 You know, we should work hard as ladies, you guys should work hard to raise your children, 55:19.680 --> 55:20.680 to teach them. 55:20.680 --> 55:21.680 But you know what? 55:21.680 --> 55:22.680 It's not just about ourselves. 55:23.300 --> 55:25.340 It's also about serving others. 55:25.340 --> 55:28.100 But every man also on the things of others, 55:28.100 --> 55:32.300 let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. 55:32.300 --> 55:36.940 Christ Jesus came to give us an example of servitude. 55:36.940 --> 55:38.460 That's all he did. 55:38.460 --> 55:42.860 He came and just served and served and served and served and served. 55:42.860 --> 55:45.020 He's washing the disciples' feet. 55:45.020 --> 55:50.460 He is constantly seeking to save those that were, those that are lost. 55:51.000 --> 55:54.440 Jesus Christ is serving and serving and serving. 55:54.440 --> 55:57.640 And he has nowhere to lay his head many times. 55:57.640 --> 56:00.640 He's not so much worried about his own well-being, 56:00.640 --> 56:02.800 but rather the well-being of others. 56:02.800 --> 56:04.320 He wants others to benefit. 56:04.320 --> 56:12.440 He wants others to enjoy the many benefits that God has for them. 56:12.440 --> 56:13.520 He's serving others. 56:13.520 --> 56:15.720 And that's the type of mentality we should have. 56:16.300 --> 56:17.820 is to serve others. 56:17.820 --> 56:20.060 You know, I work hard throughout the week. 56:20.060 --> 56:22.060 I try to work as hard as I can. 56:22.060 --> 56:22.620 But you know what? 56:22.620 --> 56:24.700 It's not so that way I can be wealthy. 56:24.700 --> 56:28.620 It's not so that way I can keep up riches unto myself. 56:28.620 --> 56:32.060 It's so I can provide for my family, my children, 56:32.060 --> 56:35.420 and to make sure every man gets his inheritance. 56:35.420 --> 56:39.260 I want to spend my money towards my family, my kids, 56:39.260 --> 56:42.140 and making sure other people can get saved. 56:42.600 --> 56:44.600 Going out and preaching the gospel. 56:44.600 --> 56:47.600 That's the type of mentality we should have. 56:47.600 --> 56:51.600 It is not being worried about, you know, how much it costs sometimes. 56:51.600 --> 56:55.600 You know, because sometimes that can be a difficult aspect of it. 56:55.600 --> 56:56.600 And there are costs. 56:56.600 --> 56:59.600 And I'm not saying you have to go on every mission trip. 56:59.600 --> 57:04.600 I mean, there are a plethora of opportunities to go and preach the gospel. 57:04.600 --> 57:05.600 You don't have to go on every one. 57:05.600 --> 57:08.600 But listen, I encourage you to at least choose to go on one. 57:09.300 --> 57:12.100 Just go on one. It will change your life. 57:13.700 --> 57:15.400 It'll give you a burden for the loss. 57:15.400 --> 57:21.700 It'll help you to understand that many there be that go in there at many are following the Broadway. 57:21.700 --> 57:25.800 Many are going to end up in hell and it'll give you a heart for those people. 57:25.800 --> 57:29.300 Go to Acts chapter number 26, Acts 26. 57:33.300 --> 57:36.660 Preaching the gospel is the most selfless thing you could do 57:39.600 --> 57:42.880 It's the most selfless thing you could do. 57:42.880 --> 57:45.280 None of it really benefits you. 57:45.280 --> 57:48.200 I mean, from a physical perspective, right? 57:48.200 --> 57:52.200 From a spiritual perspective, it benefits you more than anything. 57:52.200 --> 57:54.000 But from a physical perspective, I mean, 57:54.000 --> 57:55.440 you might get a little exercise. 57:55.440 --> 57:57.960 That's maybe the only benefit you'll get out of it. 57:57.960 --> 58:00.840 But my voice is pretty much shot right now. 58:00.840 --> 58:02.920 And it's because I've been preaching all week. 58:04.000 --> 58:08.000 That's not very fun to get up here and preach a sermon with no voice. 58:08.000 --> 58:11.000 You sound like I'm going through puberty or something. 58:11.000 --> 58:16.000 But you know what? We should be willing to serve other people. 58:16.000 --> 58:20.000 We should be willing to sacrifice some things in this life 58:20.000 --> 58:23.000 so that way other men can receive their inheritance. 58:23.000 --> 58:26.000 Notice Acts 26, and I want to highlight a couple things. 58:26.000 --> 58:27.800 Look at verse number 18. 58:28.500 --> 58:33.100 Verse number 18, the Bible says to open their eyes. 58:33.100 --> 58:35.500 Now this is just to kind of give some context. 58:35.500 --> 58:40.100 This is Jesus is basically what Jesus is telling Paul during his conversion. 58:40.100 --> 58:45.100 If you read this, this portion of scripture, Paul's recanting his conversion story. 58:45.100 --> 58:47.100 And this is what Jesus is telling him. 58:47.100 --> 58:49.500 So if you got a Bible, it's got red letters, this would be red letters. 58:49.500 --> 58:54.900 Says to open their eyes and to turn them from darkness to light. 58:55.200 --> 59:02.480 and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and inheritance 59:02.480 --> 59:06.560 among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me." 59:06.560 --> 59:10.800 See, it's a complete selfless act to help every man his inheritance. 59:11.520 --> 59:15.840 It's a complete selfless act. Notice Jesus is telling them, 59:15.840 --> 59:21.200 you're going to go open their eyes. You're going to turn them from darkness to light. 59:21.800 --> 59:26.800 that they may receive forgiveness so they can receive that inheritance. 59:26.800 --> 59:31.800 Right? Everything that we do in the Christian life should be centered around serving other people. 59:31.800 --> 59:36.800 Making sure other people get to enjoy the benefits that you have received. 59:36.800 --> 59:41.800 I mean, if we stop right now, we would have... 59:42.300 --> 59:47.420 you know, nothing to be ashamed of, right? We would have, you know, great things to, to, 59:49.020 --> 59:54.620 you know, to rejoice in the rewards. But the most important thing is salvation. The fact that your 59:54.620 --> 01:00:01.020 soul is not going to hell, you know, and, you know, sometimes I think maybe we don't think about that 01:00:01.020 --> 01:00:06.220 as often as we should. I mean, I'm a sinner. I deserve to go to hell, but it's by the grace of 01:00:06.220 --> 01:00:07.420 God that I get to go to heaven. 01:00:08.000 --> 01:00:13.200 And then on top of that, I have the opportunity to serve God and then earn rewards in heaven. 01:00:13.200 --> 01:00:21.200 When we have a great opportunity to serve God mightily, we shouldn't just squander those opportunities. 01:00:21.200 --> 01:00:27.200 We should take full advantage of those things and really just have a mind to serve other people. 01:00:27.200 --> 01:00:29.200 You know, a heart for other people. 01:00:29.200 --> 01:00:35.000 You know, something else we should be willing to do as a servant is to endure some battles. 01:00:35.200 --> 01:00:37.300 to go through some hard times. 01:00:37.300 --> 01:00:38.900 Go back to Numbers 32. 01:00:40.900 --> 01:00:42.300 Numbers 32. 01:00:48.300 --> 01:00:50.300 Numbers 32 look at verse number 20 01:00:52.700 --> 01:01:00.700 The Bible says, and Moses said unto them, If ye will do this thing, if you will go armed before the Lord to war. 01:01:01.700 --> 01:01:04.400 You know, they weren't just helping them inherit. 01:01:05.500 --> 01:01:12.000 Without any, you know, affliction, without any resistance, there was going to be great resistance. 01:01:12.200 --> 01:01:15.000 There was going to be many battles that they were going to have to fight. 01:01:15.000 --> 01:01:16.840 And I really like this point. 01:01:16.840 --> 01:01:21.080 Moses tells them, hey, go armed before the Lord, right? 01:01:21.080 --> 01:01:24.840 You're taking the sword of the spirit when you go out to preach the gospel. 01:01:24.840 --> 01:01:26.600 You're arming yourselves. 01:01:26.600 --> 01:01:28.120 You know, and so many people, they go out, 01:01:28.120 --> 01:01:31.880 they think they're doing a great job because they got a bunch of chick tracks in their pocket. 01:01:31.880 --> 01:01:33.960 How many chick tracks can I hand out? 01:01:33.960 --> 01:01:37.480 You know, my son, my son can turn any object into a weapon. 01:01:37.900 --> 01:01:41.500 The vacuum cleaner is a gun. 01:01:41.500 --> 01:01:43.700 It's a machine gun. 01:01:43.700 --> 01:01:45.900 He'll make these paper knives, whatever. 01:01:45.900 --> 01:01:47.100 And I was thinking about this. 01:01:47.100 --> 01:01:50.380 A lot of these people that think they're doing a great work for the Lord with all their chick 01:01:50.380 --> 01:01:54.640 tracks in their pocket, they're going out with a little paper knife, thinking that they're 01:01:54.640 --> 01:01:57.300 actually going to accomplish something. 01:01:57.300 --> 01:01:59.940 That's something that a child would do. 01:01:59.940 --> 01:02:02.960 Imagine in their mind that they're actually accomplishing great things 01:02:04.100 --> 01:02:07.100 You know, that's something that a child does with their imagination, right? 01:02:07.100 --> 01:02:11.600 But listen, when I became a man, I put away childish things. 01:02:11.600 --> 01:02:14.600 It's supposed to take the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, 01:02:14.600 --> 01:02:16.600 and go out and slay the enemies of the Lord. 01:02:16.600 --> 01:02:21.100 Go fight some battles, and you know, you need the Word of God to do that. 01:02:21.100 --> 01:02:26.600 You're not going to just go out and win a bunch of battles without the Bible. 01:02:26.600 --> 01:02:31.000 We should all be equipped with the Word of God when we go out and preach the Gospel. 01:02:31.100 --> 01:02:35.740 Right? And listen, if you have the verses memorized and you got to do it in a pinch, 01:02:35.740 --> 01:02:39.660 hey, praise God. I don't think it's not like I don't think somebody can't get saved by that 01:02:39.660 --> 01:02:44.300 because that's the word of God ultimately. But I think the most effective way is to just show them 01:02:44.300 --> 01:02:50.140 straight from the Bible. You know, God gave us this Bible for a reason. He's preserved his word in a 01:02:50.140 --> 01:02:56.300 book, right? We shouldn't look at this book as being inferior. Oh, well, it's just words on a page. 01:02:56.300 --> 01:02:57.580 No, this is the word of God. 01:02:58.400 --> 01:02:59.680 You know, this is powerful. 01:02:59.680 --> 01:03:03.800 This is the sword that we're going to go out and slay all the enemies. 01:03:03.800 --> 01:03:08.560 You know, there's a lot of enemies out there that we should be, you know, slaying. 01:03:08.560 --> 01:03:11.800 In Fiji, we're slaying the enemy of Hinduism. 01:03:11.800 --> 01:03:15.720 Let me tell you, I mean, it was difficult because it's something that many of the Fijians 01:03:15.720 --> 01:03:18.000 really struggled with is eternal security. 01:03:18.500 --> 01:03:26.000 You know, and just thinking that they couldn't, you know, they couldn't do something to or that they could do something to lose their salvation. 01:03:26.000 --> 01:03:27.100 So that was an enemy. 01:03:27.100 --> 01:03:28.400 We were having to slay. 01:03:28.400 --> 01:03:31.600 We're having to slay this idea that you can have multiple gods. 01:03:31.900 --> 01:03:33.400 You know, we did some slaying. 01:03:33.600 --> 01:03:35.200 There was one classroom we were in. 01:03:35.200 --> 01:03:37.800 I mean, we were taking Hinduism to task. 01:03:38.200 --> 01:03:40.200 slaying Hinduism before the children. 01:03:40.200 --> 01:03:42.200 It was kind of cool. This is after they all prayed. 01:03:42.200 --> 01:03:45.200 It's like the people who prayed, you could tell who they were. 01:03:45.200 --> 01:03:48.200 Because they were like on our side. They were like, yeah! 01:03:48.200 --> 01:03:50.200 You know, Hinduism is a false religion. 01:03:50.200 --> 01:03:52.200 You know, it was great to see that. 01:03:52.200 --> 01:03:58.200 You know, and that's what we do. We go out and we are fighting these battles. 01:03:58.200 --> 01:04:00.200 We're slaying false doctrine. 01:04:00.200 --> 01:04:05.700 We're trying to defeat the enemies of the Lord so that way every man can inherit his inheritance. 01:04:06.400 --> 01:04:10.960 Go to 2nd Timothy chapter number two, 2nd Timothy chapter number two. 01:04:19.000 --> 01:04:21.380 Paul fought some battles. 01:04:21.380 --> 01:04:25.680 Paul fought some battles for the elect's sake. 01:04:25.680 --> 01:04:29.320 So that way people could receive their inheritance. 01:04:29.320 --> 01:04:31.440 Look at verse number nine. 01:04:31.440 --> 01:04:35.920 The Bible says, wherein I suffer, suffer trouble as an evildoer. 01:04:36.200 --> 01:04:41.200 even unto bonds, but the word of God is not bound. 01:04:41.200 --> 01:04:46.200 Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sake." 01:04:46.200 --> 01:04:53.200 Notice this, that they may also obtain salvation, which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. 01:04:53.200 --> 01:05:00.100 So the Bible is saying that Paul had this mentality that receiving my inheritance is not enough. 01:05:00.500 --> 01:05:06.180 You know, I'm going out, I'm fighting battles so that they also may obtain, so that they 01:05:06.180 --> 01:05:09.780 also may be able to receive that inheritance. 01:05:09.780 --> 01:05:12.540 He's fighting those battles for the elect's sake. 01:05:12.540 --> 01:05:17.180 You know, and if you think about this, they're called the elect, they're our brethren, but 01:05:17.180 --> 01:05:20.620 they have not received that inheritance yet because they are elect according to what? 01:05:20.620 --> 01:05:22.180 The foreknowledge of God. 01:05:22.180 --> 01:05:23.180 Right? 01:05:23.180 --> 01:05:24.260 You know, we're not Calvinists here. 01:05:24.260 --> 01:05:27.700 We don't believe that God predestines people to salvation and damnation. 01:05:28.100 --> 01:05:34.180 right? It's hard. But you know what? It's all worth it. 01:06:23.900 --> 01:06:26.400 I endure all things for the elect sake. 01:06:26.400 --> 01:06:28.240 And listen, that's a lie deflection. 01:06:28.240 --> 01:06:29.340 Let's go to another passage. 01:06:29.340 --> 01:06:32.540 Go to 2 Corinthians 4. 01:06:32.540 --> 01:06:33.980 It's a lie deflection. 01:06:33.980 --> 01:06:36.980 The things that we have to endure in reality 01:06:36.980 --> 01:06:41.060 is such lie deflection, even comparable to Paul. 01:06:41.060 --> 01:06:42.860 But what did Paul say? 01:06:42.860 --> 01:06:44.860 He's getting stoned to death. 01:06:44.860 --> 01:06:46.860 He's getting shipwrecked. 01:06:46.860 --> 01:06:49.020 I mean, he's going through some terrible things, 01:06:49.020 --> 01:06:50.660 some misfortunes, right? 01:06:51.500 --> 01:06:55.100 He truly endured all things for the elect's sake. 01:06:55.100 --> 01:07:00.100 So, hey listen, don't get this idea like, oh well, you know, 01:07:00.100 --> 01:07:04.800 I'm just accomplishing all these great, I'm enduring such great things for the cause of Christ. 01:07:04.800 --> 01:07:08.100 Listen, we endure very light things. 01:07:08.100 --> 01:07:10.800 It's very little things that we have to go through. 01:07:10.800 --> 01:07:12.900 A little bit of Texas heat, right? 01:07:12.900 --> 01:07:15.300 Hey, Texas heat's affliction. 01:07:15.300 --> 01:07:18.300 But it's nowhere near compared to what Paul went through. 01:07:18.700 --> 01:07:20.380 And Paul had a humble spirit. 01:07:20.380 --> 01:07:25.180 Paul had this idea in his mind of serving others. 01:07:25.180 --> 01:07:29.180 Second Corinthians chapter four, look what the Bible says in verse 15. 01:07:29.180 --> 01:07:35.220 It says, Ryan, for all things are for your sakes. 01:07:35.220 --> 01:07:37.540 You know, that motivated him, I bet. 01:07:37.540 --> 01:07:40.260 You know, he's probably just thinking about all the people 01:07:40.260 --> 01:07:42.100 that are going to die and go to hell. 01:07:42.100 --> 01:07:43.820 He's thinking about all these people. 01:07:43.820 --> 01:07:45.900 He's like, hey, I'm going to endure all these things for them. 01:07:46.700 --> 01:07:51.820 You know, sometimes you just have to have an idea in your mind, an image in your mind 01:07:51.820 --> 01:07:54.860 of these people that you haven't met yet that are going to die and go to hell. 01:07:55.660 --> 01:07:59.980 That might help you to endure all things for their sakes, right? 01:07:59.980 --> 01:08:01.660 Have the right mentality. 01:08:01.660 --> 01:08:05.660 If you're struggling with going out so many, hey, just try to picture in your mind a Fijian. 01:08:07.020 --> 01:08:12.780 Right now, there are 300,000 plus Fijians that are going to die and go to hell 01:08:12.780 --> 01:08:14.140 if a preacher doesn't go preach to them. 01:08:14.900 --> 01:08:16.900 There are thousands of people in the Philippines. 01:08:16.900 --> 01:08:21.900 There are thousands of people in Asia and Africa, all across this world. 01:08:21.900 --> 01:08:23.900 They're going to die and go to hell. 01:08:23.900 --> 01:08:28.900 Every one of them, if they don't hear the gospel message and choose to believe on Jesus. 01:08:28.900 --> 01:08:33.900 So, you know, you should, if you're struggling with going so many on a regular basis, 01:08:33.900 --> 01:08:37.900 hey, just try to just think of just, you know, people's faces 01:08:37.900 --> 01:08:39.900 that are going to be burning in hell for all eternity. 01:08:40.800 --> 01:08:44.960 that should motivate you for all things are for your sake. 01:08:45.680 --> 01:08:52.640 It says that the abundant grace my through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. 01:08:52.640 --> 01:08:55.760 You know, and this is another thing to kind of help put things in perspective. 01:08:55.760 --> 01:09:01.360 We go out so many not for our own glory, you know, not so that way we can get a pat on the back. 01:09:01.360 --> 01:09:04.320 It's so that way God can get glory, right? 01:09:04.320 --> 01:09:07.680 We should be praising God for all the souls that got saved in Fiji. 01:09:08.200 --> 01:09:12.840 Right?
