WEBVTT

00:00.200 --> 00:02.200
Start trying to get out there.

00:02.200 --> 00:04.200
It's the...

00:04.200 --> 00:06.200
It's the...

00:06.200 --> 00:08.200
Do you want me?

00:08.200 --> 00:10.200
Do you want that?

00:10.200 --> 00:12.200
Do you want that?

00:14.200 --> 00:19.200
She's going to be sitting with me because she wants some of the snacks that you're going to give to your kids.

00:19.200 --> 00:21.200
Can I get this done earlier?

00:21.200 --> 00:22.200
Ask Mom if I have all the fish.

00:22.200 --> 00:24.200
Can she have all the fish?

00:24.200 --> 00:25.200
Uh, yeah.

00:25.200 --> 00:26.200
You know what?

00:26.200 --> 00:28.200
I'm going to be making me snack tea.

00:28.200 --> 00:31.200
We're going to tie it to time restriction so that it won't see the fish.

00:31.200 --> 00:32.200
The tie is on the floor.

00:32.200 --> 00:34.200
The tie smells great.

00:34.200 --> 00:36.200
Look at how you tied it.

01:19.400 --> 01:25.920
Page number 230, we're going to be singing Heavenly Sunlight.

01:25.920 --> 01:27.720
Welcome to Sherr Foundation Baptist Church.

01:27.720 --> 01:29.720
You can find your seats and grab your song books

01:29.720 --> 01:31.800
and turn to page number 230, we're

01:31.800 --> 01:34.000
going to be singing Heavenly Sunlight.

01:37.800 --> 01:39.800
Page 230.

01:47.100 --> 01:50.100
Page 230, let's sing together on the 1st.

01:50.100 --> 01:55.100
Walking in sunlight all of my journey

01:55.100 --> 02:00.100
Over the mountains through the deep veil

02:00.100 --> 02:05.100
Jesus has said I'll never forsake thee

02:05.100 --> 02:09.100
Promise divine that never can fail

02:09.100 --> 02:13.600
Heavenly sunlight, heavenly sun

02:14.500 --> 02:18.980
flooding my soul with glory divine

02:25.000 --> 02:30.120
Singing his praises, Jesus is mine.

02:30.120 --> 02:35.000
Shadows around me, shadows above me.

02:35.000 --> 02:39.800
Never conceal my savior and guide.

02:39.800 --> 02:44.560
He is the light and in him is no darkness.

02:44.560 --> 02:49.200
Ever I'm walking close to his side.

02:49.200 --> 02:50.200
Heavenly side.

02:52.200 --> 02:57.500
Sunlight flooding my soul with glory divine

03:03.400 --> 03:06.060
I sing, sing in his praise.

03:06.900 --> 03:16.260
Jesus is mine in the bright sunlight ever rejoicing pressing my way to

03:16.260 --> 03:26.260
mansions above singing his praises gladly I'm walking walking in sunlight

03:26.260 --> 03:34.900
sunlight of love heavenly sunlight heavenly sunlight flooding

03:34.900 --> 03:39.900
my soul with glory divine.

03:40.140 --> 03:40.600
How.

03:43.400 --> 03:44.240
Enjoy!

03:47.900 --> 03:52.380
This is mine. Amen. Good seeing brother Daniel. Can you open some water prayer?

04:03.580 --> 04:05.740
Amen. Our second song, we song number 254.

04:10.100 --> 04:13.100
Whosoever Will, song 254.

04:24.100 --> 04:28.020
Song 254, let's sing it together on the first.

04:28.020 --> 04:32.860
Whosoever hear it, shout, shout the sound.

04:32.860 --> 04:37.860
Spread the blessed tidings all the world around.

04:37.860 --> 04:42.700
Tell the joyful news wherever man is found.

04:42.700 --> 04:47.420
Whosoever will may come.

04:47.420 --> 04:51.980
Whosoever will, whosoever will.

04:52.200 --> 04:57.000
Send the proclamation over Vail and Hill,

04:57.000 --> 05:01.960
Tis the loving father calls the wander home,

05:01.960 --> 05:05.000
Whosoever will,

05:05.000 --> 05:05.560
May

05:07.700 --> 05:12.700
Whosoever cometh need not delay.

05:12.700 --> 05:17.400
Now the door is open, enter while you may.

05:17.400 --> 05:22.200
Jesus is the true, the only living way.

05:22.200 --> 05:24.700
Whosoever will may...

05:27.000 --> 05:28.500
Whosoever

05:32.000 --> 05:36.800
Send the proclamation over Mill and Hill,

05:36.800 --> 05:40.800
Tis a loving father calls the wanderer home.

05:50.900 --> 05:56.160
Secure whosoever will forever must endure

05:56.760 --> 06:00.660
Whosoever will tears lie forevermore

06:01.520 --> 06:03.400
whosoever will

06:11.300 --> 06:14.100
Send the proclamation over...

06:17.000 --> 06:22.480
Father calls the wander home whosoever will

06:27.000 --> 06:27.840
and good singing.

06:29.900 --> 06:34.300
Our verse of the week is going to be Isaiah 41 verse 13, which says,

06:34.300 --> 06:38.060
for the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee,

06:38.060 --> 06:43.980
fear not, I will help thee. That's Isaiah 41 verse 13.

06:43.980 --> 06:47.580
We are here at our Sunday evening, or good night, Sunday morning service,

06:47.580 --> 06:50.380
good night, I'm already skipping the first one. But the Sunday morning

06:50.380 --> 06:52.620
service, we're going to be going through Jonah chapter number three.

06:52.620 --> 06:55.820
So if you are keen on your Bible reading, you probably know what I'm

06:55.820 --> 06:57.500
probably going to preach about then this morning.

06:57.900 --> 07:02.200
And then as for Sunday night, we're going to be going through John chapter number four.

07:02.200 --> 07:04.500
I believe it's part number three now.

07:04.500 --> 07:09.700
I'm trying to get through this whole end of John chapter number four.

07:09.700 --> 07:10.700
We'll see how it's going to go though.

07:10.700 --> 07:14.100
It's quite a bit of verses to get through, but I'm like, it's like a coin toss right

07:14.100 --> 07:15.100
now.

07:15.100 --> 07:17.740
I'm actually going to get through all of it, or if there's going to have to be a John four

07:17.740 --> 07:18.860
part four.

07:18.860 --> 07:22.780
And then Wednesday evening, we're having our Bible study in first Corinthians.

07:22.780 --> 07:25.780
We're actually on 1st Corinthians 16 now, so there'll be...

07:25.900 --> 07:29.940
Part number one of that actually might be a one and done on that if you could believe it

07:29.940 --> 07:34.820
Okay, I almost don't even believe as I'm telling you but it actually could be it's pretty short and a lot of it is

07:35.560 --> 07:37.740
Him just kind of discussing the different

07:38.540 --> 07:42.500
The different kind of plans he has for coming to visit the Church of Corinth in the future

07:42.500 --> 07:44.500
So we'll see how that goes though

07:45.180 --> 07:47.460
and then as far as our soul and goes we have

07:48.280 --> 07:53.900
121 salvations now because brother Ryan got someone saved it today. It's pretty awesome yesterday that area that we

07:53.900 --> 07:57.660
at Norway Heights, I preached the full gospel one time.

07:57.660 --> 08:00.900
I preached like 75% of the gospel the second time,

08:00.900 --> 08:03.980
and the lady just got off work, so she was kind of just trying

08:03.980 --> 08:05.940
to, I mean, she'd be nice.

08:05.940 --> 08:08.220
She agreed with what we were saying, but she just, you know,

08:08.220 --> 08:09.380
she was thinking about other things, whatever.

08:09.380 --> 08:12.700
And then that last guy, I mean, he had all the distractions

08:12.700 --> 08:15.140
of the world for why he might not have actually heard

08:15.140 --> 08:18.220
the gospel, but he was like, oh, no, no, no, let me go put

08:18.220 --> 08:20.660
the kids up, and then he like comes outside,

08:20.660 --> 08:21.900
and you're the old gospel.

08:21.900 --> 08:25.100
Even with his kids going crazy around him, he can be like,

08:25.100 --> 08:26.700
Oh, can you repeat that again? I didn't hear what you said.

08:26.700 --> 08:29.300
So pretty good. That should just show us though, too.

08:29.300 --> 08:34.100
Like so many people have excuses for us and why they can't hear the gospel.

08:34.100 --> 08:36.300
We're out soul winning. But so many of them are just fake.

08:36.300 --> 08:38.700
Some of them just don't actually want to hear the gospel.

08:38.700 --> 08:43.400
No, just because the reality is that if you really want to hear the good news

08:43.400 --> 08:46.800
about how to go to heaven when you die, you're going to make some time for it.

08:46.800 --> 08:48.100
And someone comes to your door.

08:48.100 --> 08:49.600
So I just thought that.

08:49.900 --> 08:53.980
was pretty interesting. But as far as the upcoming events go on August, or

08:53.980 --> 08:58.180
excuse me, on October 1st will be the end of our memory challenge for Galatians

08:58.180 --> 09:03.340
chapter number one. So if you're still doing that, make sure you stick at it

09:03.340 --> 09:05.820
because there's only a little bit of time left. What we got? It's the 20th. Yeah?

09:05.820 --> 09:10.060
Good night. Time's flying by in this month as well. And then the 13th we have

09:10.060 --> 09:15.220
our homeschool day on October 13th and then October 17th we're

09:15.220 --> 09:17.020
We're gonna have our Tri-Cities Marathon.

09:17.020 --> 09:17.860
I need to post a.

09:17.900 --> 09:21.340
video about that this week as a matter of fact so that I don't forget so I get

09:21.340 --> 09:25.740
all the details out there and then on October 25th we have our church picture

09:25.740 --> 09:31.340
day and on October 28th and 30th we're having the VBS with the creation theme

09:31.340 --> 09:34.220
so I'm looking forward to that I'm already trying to brainstorm the

09:34.220 --> 09:35.300
sermons I'm trying to have

09:35.700 --> 09:39.700
figure out uh I don't know I haven't done much preaching to kids now that I think about it like

09:39.700 --> 09:45.060
even in uh the old life beat churches that I grew up in I was never like in like a Sunday school

09:45.060 --> 09:48.580
teaching so I'm kind of interested to see how that'll work out I know you're probably not

09:48.580 --> 09:54.020
supposed to rip the kids' face off okay but that uh you never know uh but probably not with creation

09:54.020 --> 10:00.820
but um in Psalms 121 verse number two that's our kids memory verse it's my help cometh from the

10:00.820 --> 10:03.060
the Lord which maketh heaven and earth.

10:03.060 --> 10:03.700
And if you tell that to my

10:03.700 --> 10:08.020
wife you can get a piece of candy kids and all the church rules you guys are

10:08.020 --> 10:12.700
all familiar with as far as birthdays go we didn't sing Callie every birthday

10:12.700 --> 10:17.500
right not at church okay so we got a singer happy birthday we already had the

10:17.500 --> 10:24.540
party okay but 26th okay let me see

10:25.100 --> 10:26.700
I think it's within the week though, huh?

10:26.700 --> 10:28.700
I guess we could do Wednesday. Yeah, we'll do Wednesday.

10:28.700 --> 10:30.700
But we do have an anniversary.

10:30.700 --> 10:32.700
Brother Daniel and Miss Marina.

10:32.700 --> 10:34.700
And the date was correct on this one, right?

10:34.700 --> 10:36.700
We're not missing that? Okay.

10:36.700 --> 10:38.700
Now I'm all scared about the dates because I messed up the last one.

10:38.700 --> 10:41.700
So we'll sing Happy Anniversary to Brother Daniel and Miss Marina.

10:41.700 --> 10:43.700
How many years do you guys have now?

10:43.700 --> 10:45.700
11 years. 11 years. Praise God for that.

10:45.700 --> 10:48.700
So I think, yeah, you guys are the longest marriage then at our church.

10:48.700 --> 10:50.700
I think we're the second longest then. So, praise God.

10:51.500 --> 10:55.500
We'll sing Happy Anniversary on the first.

11:00.500 --> 11:02.900
That's that uncertain sound that the Trump is giving right there.

11:02.900 --> 11:04.900
What's up with that?

11:07.300 --> 11:08.300
Are you ready? Okay.

11:08.300 --> 11:12.300
Happy anniversary to you, woo!

11:12.300 --> 11:17.300
Happy anniversary to you, woo!

11:17.300 --> 11:22.300
Happy anniversary, God bless you.

11:22.300 --> 11:27.300
Happy anniversary to you.

11:27.300 --> 11:29.300
Okay, you threw me off for no reason because it sounded really good.

11:29.300 --> 11:32.300
I need more practice with it.

11:32.300 --> 11:35.300
Alright, our next song before we do the offering will be song number...

11:35.300 --> 11:36.140
Number 12.

11:40.500 --> 11:42.100
Blessed Redeemer.

11:47.300 --> 11:50.100
Song number 12, Blessed Redeemer.

12:00.200 --> 12:02.600
Song number 12, we'll sing it on the first.

12:02.700 --> 12:08.120
Up Calvary's mountain, one dreadful morn,

12:08.120 --> 12:13.380
While Christ my Savior, weary and worn,

12:13.380 --> 12:18.420
Facing four sinners, death on the cross,

12:18.420 --> 12:23.820
That He might save them from endless loss.

12:23.820 --> 12:29.220
Blessed Redeemer, precious Redeemer,

12:29.220 --> 12:30.700
Seems now I see...

12:30.700 --> 12:35.600
I am on Calvary's tree

12:35.600 --> 12:36.200
wounded

12:38.600 --> 12:40.400
Four Sanders, please!

12:50.500 --> 12:58.500
Thus did he pray, and while his life blood flowed past away,

12:58.500 --> 13:09.180
Praying for sinners while in such woe, No one but Jesus ever loved so.

13:09.180 --> 13:18.500
Blessed Redeemer, precious Redeemer, Seems now I see him on Calvary.

13:18.500 --> 13:26.400
Street wounded and bleeding for sinners please

13:40.700 --> 13:51.740
praises ever find and through years unnumbered on heaven's shore my tongue

13:51.740 --> 14:02.620
shall praise him forevermore blessed Redeemer precious Redeemer seems now I

14:02.620 --> 14:07.820
see him on Calvary Street

14:08.600 --> 14:13.560
Wounded and bleeding, for sinners bleeding

14:21.100 --> 14:23.100
good scene brother Ryan would you bless the offering for us?

15:18.300 --> 15:22.860
everybody. If you could go ahead and open your Bibles with me. We'll go to Jonah

15:22.860 --> 15:29.340
chapter 3 this morning. Jonah chapter 3 is our text and here at Sure Foundation

15:29.340 --> 15:33.600
Baptist Church we read the entire chapter before the preaching.

15:36.900 --> 15:40.740
Jonah chapter 3 the Bible reads,

15:40.740 --> 15:44.900
And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying,

15:44.900 --> 15:51.860
Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.

15:51.860 --> 15:57.060
So Jonah arose and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD.

15:57.060 --> 16:01.860
Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days' journey.

16:02.100 --> 16:07.980
Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey and he cried and said,

16:08.220 --> 16:11.820
Yet forty days in Nineveh shall be overthrown.

16:12.220 --> 16:19.700
So the people of Nineveh believed God and proclaimed to fast and put on sackcloth from the greatest of them

16:19.900 --> 16:21.800
even to the least of them.

16:21.900 --> 16:28.380
for the word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from

16:28.380 --> 16:32.540
him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes."

16:32.800 --> 16:39.360
and he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his

16:39.360 --> 16:47.680
nobles saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything. Let them not feed nor drink

16:47.680 --> 16:55.520
water. But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth and cry mightily unto God. Yea, let

16:55.520 --> 17:00.640
them turn everyone from his evil way and from the violence that is in their hands.

17:00.800 --> 17:07.240
hands, who can tell if God will turn and repent and turn away from his fierce anger that we

17:07.240 --> 17:08.240
perish not?

17:08.240 --> 17:14.860
And God saw their works that they turned from their evil way, and God repented of the evil

17:14.860 --> 17:19.740
that he had said that he would do unto them, and he did it not.

17:19.740 --> 17:21.700
Brother Daniel, could you pray for the preaching?

17:21.700 --> 17:22.700
Dear Hanifah, thank you for staying.

17:22.700 --> 17:23.700
Thank you, God, for this great chapter.

17:23.700 --> 17:04.760
At the end of the moment, we are going to be talking about the

17:28.200 --> 17:30.200
Preach this chapter to us.

17:31.800 --> 17:38.800
Amen. Amen. You guys are there in Jonah chapter number three. We're going to look in at verse number nine where the Bible says,

17:38.800 --> 17:44.800
Who can tell if God will turn and repent and turn away from his fierce anger that we perish not?

17:44.800 --> 17:47.800
The title of my sermon this morning is, What is Biblical Repentance? Let's pray.

17:47.800 --> 17:51.800
Dear Lord God, thank you so much for this wonderful day, God. Thank you so much for everything you do for us, God.

17:51.800 --> 17:54.800
Thank you so much for this church, God, and for everybody that showed up to hear your work preached this morning, God.

17:54.800 --> 17:59.800
I just pray for that reason. You fill me with your Holy Spirit, God, and help me to preach words that would edify

17:59.800 --> 18:03.800
everybody in this room, God, I just pray that you help me to say what you want me to say

18:03.800 --> 18:06.280
and keep me from saying what you wouldn't want me to say and I pray that you'd help

18:06.280 --> 18:11.400
me to have a clear train of thought as I preach and help me to deliver well the message you

18:11.400 --> 18:12.400
put on my heart.

18:12.400 --> 18:13.040
In Jesus' name I pray, amen.

18:13.600 --> 18:18.160
time I certainly said again is what is biblical repentance we're here in Jonah chapter number three

18:18.160 --> 18:23.280
and this morning I'm going to be talking about the subject of repentance and in the past I know I've

18:23.280 --> 18:30.240
preached at least one sermon on repentance just in the aspect of repentance and salvation what the

18:30.240 --> 18:35.760
bible teaches about the word repentance and what it has to do with salvation and this morning what

18:35.760 --> 18:41.280
I originally had planned to do was to not just talk about repentance in terms of salvation but to talk about

18:41.600 --> 18:43.600
you know, God repenting in the Bible.

18:43.600 --> 18:45.600
Because there's some interesting verses where, you know,

18:45.600 --> 18:47.600
God has a verse where he's like, you know,

18:47.600 --> 18:48.600
he's not a man that he should repent.

18:48.600 --> 18:50.600
But then we see multiple places in the Bible,

18:50.600 --> 18:51.600
like this verse right here,

18:51.600 --> 18:53.600
where it says that God does repent.

18:53.600 --> 18:56.600
So I was going to kind of discuss that a little bit.

18:56.600 --> 18:59.600
But after I got through like this, like halfway through,

18:59.600 --> 19:01.600
I was like, this is just going to be a fool's errand.

19:01.600 --> 19:02.600
It's not going to work out.

19:02.600 --> 19:04.600
So what I decided to do instead is that this sermon

19:04.600 --> 19:05.600
is going to be based on...

19:06.100 --> 19:12.860
fully on salvation what it has to do with repentance in the Bible and then the next sermon I preach on next Sunday is gonna be

19:12.940 --> 19:18.760
discussing repentance as a whole just like everything that the Bible has to say outside of the bounds of salvation

19:19.060 --> 19:21.620
But for this sermon, we're gonna just be talking about

19:22.460 --> 19:26.540
Repentance and what it has to do with salvation and so I'm just gonna get right in this rink

19:26.540 --> 19:28.980
I lost up the cover so point one of this sermon is

19:29.240 --> 19:34.100
what does the word repent mean and I think it's extremely important to start the sermon off right here because

19:34.100 --> 19:37.100
This is a word that I feel is frequently misunderstood

19:37.380 --> 19:42.840
Not just by unsavely people but by safe people alike and I think this comes from two two things

19:42.840 --> 19:43.120
Okay

19:43.120 --> 19:49.540
I think that people have kind of like a preconceived idea about the word repent and so they go to some version of libel and they

19:49.740 --> 19:57.340
Automatically attach the word of your sense to the to the phrase repent even though as we're about to discuss that doesn't always work

19:57.340 --> 20:01.960
It actually never works as I should actually say it does not work because the word repent has

20:02.100 --> 20:05.900
no attachment to it, the word repent has its own specific meaning.

20:05.900 --> 20:10.460
But the second reason why I think people will mess this up is because Webster's Dictionary

20:10.460 --> 20:12.980
and modern day dictionaries as a whole.

20:12.980 --> 20:17.620
Because if you actually look up the word repent in a modern day dictionary, what you'll find

20:17.620 --> 20:20.500
is that the first definition that comes up for a lot of people is this one.

20:20.500 --> 20:27.020
It says for the word repent is on Webster's, it says to turn from sin and to dedicate oneself

20:27.020 --> 20:29.340
to the amendment of one's life.

20:29.340 --> 20:30.100
So that's the first.

20:30.100 --> 20:33.460
definition that Webster has when I looked it up I wasn't trying to cherry

20:33.460 --> 20:36.420
pick that was just the first one that I found it obviously has a couple other

20:36.420 --> 20:39.220
definitions underneath but that was the primary definition that it put out there

20:39.220 --> 20:43.180
for what it means to repent but the thing about this is is that when you

20:43.180 --> 20:47.980
attach the word of your sins to the word of repent you immediately have problems

20:47.980 --> 20:51.060
in the Bible and the first one that we have we see here in Jonah 3 look at

20:51.060 --> 20:55.900
verse number 10 of Jonah 3 10 it says and God saw their works that they turn

20:55.900 --> 20:58.100
from their evil way and God repents

20:58.100 --> 21:02.340
repented of the evil that he said he would do unto them and he did it not.

21:02.340 --> 21:07.100
So if we take Webster's definition right here and just add it to the word repent, then that

21:07.100 --> 21:12.000
would be to say that God repented of his sins in this story and that he went to go amend

21:12.000 --> 21:14.100
his life for the evil that he'd done.

21:14.100 --> 21:18.060
Obviously this cannot be the case because God is a perfect and sinless God and there's

21:18.060 --> 21:20.260
no evil, there's no corruption in him.

21:20.260 --> 21:24.820
So we should understand very quickly then this morning that every time the word repent

21:24.820 --> 21:26.100
is used you cannot

21:26.100 --> 21:31.040
Automatically attach the phrase of your sense to it. It does not work and as a little side note to that

21:31.040 --> 21:33.920
I'd say this as well for as far as the dictionaries go

21:34.680 --> 21:38.720
Dictionaries can be a very helpful tool for us when we're going through and studying the Bible

21:38.720 --> 21:42.780
I know about just like worldly dictionaries even strong dictionary could be a helpful tool to you

21:42.960 --> 21:45.200
But you have to at the end of the day

21:45.200 --> 21:50.480
No matter what those things say you have to go and compare the dictionary's definitions to what the Bible actually says

21:50.480 --> 21:54.100
That's always the most important thing is because it's comparing spiritual things with spirit

21:54.100 --> 21:58.420
spiritual because the Bible is infallible but dictionaries are fallible.

21:58.420 --> 21:59.420
They make mistakes.

21:59.420 --> 22:01.380
So sometimes people will hang themselves on this.

22:01.380 --> 22:04.780
They'll like not understand what a word means in the King James and they'll go to a worldly

22:04.780 --> 22:08.500
dictionary and they just take whatever first definition there is of it and they just, you

22:08.500 --> 22:10.520
know, take it hook line and sinker.

22:10.520 --> 22:11.520
But you cannot do that.

22:11.520 --> 22:15.180
Number one, because the definition of words have definitely changed from over time since

22:15.180 --> 22:16.180
1611.

22:16.180 --> 22:18.700
I mean, even the word suffer is a good example.

22:18.700 --> 22:21.980
in the Bible means to allow most of the time, but then nowadays...

22:22.100 --> 22:24.380
If you say suffer, you're meaning like you're in pain

22:24.380 --> 22:25.520
and you're suffering, right?

22:25.520 --> 22:26.760
So there's that reason.

22:26.760 --> 22:27.800
But then also, like I was just saying,

22:27.800 --> 22:30.660
even if you look up a 1611 dictionary of words,

22:30.660 --> 22:32.020
you have to be careful with that

22:32.020 --> 22:35.240
because these are fallible men writing these dictionaries.

22:35.240 --> 22:37.080
And you have to let the word of God

22:37.080 --> 22:38.760
define itself very often.

22:38.760 --> 22:41.800
And so that, but I know I'll not start with this

22:41.800 --> 22:43.880
while I say this, because if you actually look

22:43.880 --> 22:46.320
what the Bible does with the word repent in this story,

22:46.320 --> 22:48.440
you can, it gives us its own definition of what it means.

22:48.440 --> 22:50.100
Okay, look at verse number eight of John.

22:50.100 --> 22:51.780
Jonah 3, 8 again it says,

22:51.780 --> 22:54.500
but let every man and beast be covered with sackcloth

22:54.500 --> 22:55.620
and cry mildly unto God,

22:55.620 --> 22:58.580
yea, let them turn everyone from his evil way

22:58.580 --> 23:00.660
and from the violence that is in his hands.

23:00.660 --> 23:04.100
Who can tell if God will turn and repent

23:04.100 --> 23:08.240
and turn away from his fierce anger that we perish not?

23:08.240 --> 23:10.860
And God saw their works that they turned

23:10.860 --> 23:13.240
from their evil way and God repented of the evil

23:13.240 --> 23:15.980
that he'd said that he'd do unto them and he did it not.

23:15.980 --> 23:17.220
So just by reading those verses,

23:17.220 --> 23:18.100
what is the word rep...

23:18.100 --> 23:20.340
repent obviously mean in its context,

23:20.340 --> 23:21.980
to turn from something, yeah?

23:21.980 --> 23:23.660
Or another way that we would say it as well

23:23.660 --> 23:25.180
in other passages that you'll see

23:25.180 --> 23:28.140
is to change your mind about something.

23:28.140 --> 23:29.180
To change your mind about something

23:29.180 --> 23:31.300
or to turn from something.

23:31.300 --> 23:33.580
But the something that you are turning from

23:33.580 --> 23:35.580
is based on the context of the verse.

23:35.580 --> 23:37.180
So right here it is their evil way

23:37.180 --> 23:38.780
that it says that they're turning from.

23:38.780 --> 23:40.940
But this is not always the case when the word is repent.

23:40.940 --> 23:41.780
That's why I was saying earlier,

23:41.780 --> 23:44.700
you can't just always attach a definition to it.

23:44.700 --> 23:46.100
And so it's a...

23:46.100 --> 23:48.020
To understand it properly though,

23:48.020 --> 23:49.140
just to use a silly sentence, if I said,

23:49.140 --> 23:52.060
hey, I was gonna eat this sandwich, but I repented.

23:52.300 --> 23:53.300
What do I mean by that?

23:53.300 --> 23:54.860
It means I change my mind, right?

23:54.860 --> 23:57.060
Or I turn from my sandwich, if it also could be, okay?

23:57.060 --> 23:59.420
But probably more likely that you change your mind.

23:59.420 --> 24:00.700
But if you think about it,

24:00.700 --> 24:01.980
because the turn kind of sounds funny,

24:01.980 --> 24:03.860
but it makes sense in this context

24:03.860 --> 24:07.260
that if you're intending to go to the store

24:07.260 --> 24:08.580
and then you change your mind,

24:08.580 --> 24:09.500
you're not going to the store anymore.

24:09.500 --> 24:10.380
What do you do usually?

24:10.380 --> 24:11.460
You turn around, right?

24:11.460 --> 24:12.460
So that's kind of the idea

24:12.460 --> 24:14.140
that the Bible is saying right there.

24:14.140 --> 24:17.340
So the word repent means to turn from

24:17.340 --> 24:19.460
or to change your mind.

24:19.460 --> 24:20.300
And another reason...

24:20.300 --> 24:24.960
why this word is very important to define outside of this being misunderstood is because

24:24.960 --> 24:28.220
the word repent is often used with salvation in the Bible. We see this many times. Go to

24:28.220 --> 24:33.540
Mark 1 verse number 15 and we see an example of this right off the bat. There's many examples

24:33.540 --> 24:37.200
of this in the Bible. I'm only going to show you a few, but the word repent is used over

24:37.200 --> 24:39.200
and over and over again in the Bible.

24:39.400 --> 24:43.420
Mark 1 verse number 15 while you guys turn it out reading Matthew 4 17

24:43.420 --> 24:50.720
It says from that time Jesus began to preach and to say repent for the kingdom of God is at hand and in mark

24:50.720 --> 24:56.820
115 he says and saying the times fulfilled the kingdom of God is at hand repent ye and believe the gospel

24:56.820 --> 25:01.500
So there's a false accusation that sometimes people will say about our beliefs at this church that they'll say that

25:01.920 --> 25:07.200
We don't believe in repentance. This is not true. You have to believe in repentance

25:07.400 --> 25:09.320
If you believe the Bible, you believe in repentance

25:09.320 --> 25:11.360
because Jesus Christ himself is preaching,

25:11.360 --> 25:14.040
repent for the King of God is at hand.

25:14.040 --> 25:17.760
So we do 100% believe in repentance at this church

25:17.760 --> 25:19.020
as long as you define it right.

25:19.020 --> 25:20.380
That's the biggest key about repentance.

25:20.380 --> 25:21.880
You have to define it right

25:21.880 --> 25:24.400
because what we just saw, what I just showed you in Jonah,

25:24.400 --> 25:26.200
is that repentance does not just mean

25:26.200 --> 25:27.560
automatically of your sins,

25:27.560 --> 25:28.980
it means to change your mind

25:28.980 --> 25:31.620
or it means to turn from something.

25:31.620 --> 25:34.440
And in that sense, we absolutely believe this

25:34.440 --> 25:35.400
about the gospel.

25:35.400 --> 25:38.000
You have to repent and believe the gospel.

25:38.000 --> 25:38.840
What does that mean?

25:38.840 --> 25:40.360
It means you have to change your mind

25:40.360 --> 25:42.560
about whatever you believe in before the gospel

25:42.560 --> 25:44.240
and choose to believe in the gospel instead.

25:44.240 --> 25:46.320
You have to turn from whatever false belief,

25:46.320 --> 25:49.520
false religion that you have besides Jesus Christ

25:49.520 --> 25:51.560
and turn to Jesus Christ to believe on him instead.

25:51.560 --> 25:53.720
This is what the Bible is teaching us.

25:53.720 --> 25:57.120
And as a little fun fact about that as well,

25:57.120 --> 25:59.240
with the word repent, that's another reason

25:59.240 --> 26:00.880
why you can't attach a sentence to it automatically

26:00.880 --> 26:03.400
because God is actually the person who repents the most.

26:03.400 --> 26:06.740
in the Bible. If you just look it up on your phone or on some kind of search system, you'll

26:06.740 --> 26:11.920
see that God repents more than anybody in the Bible. But anyways, you guys are there

26:11.920 --> 26:16.800
in Mark 1. Go back to Jonah 3 and yeah, go back to Jonah 3. I almost want to tell you

26:16.800 --> 26:20.080
to keep your finger there, but I don't know how many times we turn back there, okay? But

26:20.080 --> 26:24.080
maybe just bookmark it if you have a spare bookmark. Jonah chapter number 3, verse number

26:24.080 --> 26:25.080
8 again.

26:25.080 --> 26:25.400
Thank you.

26:26.000 --> 26:34.340
If we're being consistent though with these things, then you can't automatically attach the phrase of your friends of your sins of your friends gonna have your sins to the word repent

26:35.700 --> 26:39.900
But when we're out soul hunting with people, we preach repentance.

26:39.900 --> 26:41.900
We tell people they have to repent.

26:41.900 --> 26:44.900
Not always in the word, the verbiage of repenting.

26:44.900 --> 26:46.800
But when we go to people's door, what do we tell them?

26:46.800 --> 26:49.400
We ask them, how did they believe they could get to heaven?

26:49.400 --> 26:52.300
And if they tell us, you have to do good works, you have to go to church,

26:52.300 --> 26:55.700
you have to give money to the poor, we say, hey, no, you're wrong.

26:55.700 --> 26:58.200
This is what the Bible says. Can I show you what the Bible says?

26:58.200 --> 26:59.400
Usually a little bit nicer than that, okay?

26:59.400 --> 27:01.000
But that's just like a blunt example, okay?

27:01.000 --> 27:02.400
Can I show you what the Bible says?

27:02.400 --> 27:03.600
And even Brother DeRion just said, yes,

27:03.700 --> 27:06.900
when he's preaching that guy he said if I should if I could show you that the

27:06.900 --> 27:10.340
Bible says something different would you be willing to change your mind what's

27:10.340 --> 27:15.100
he saying would you be willing to repent is what he's saying okay we just

27:15.100 --> 27:19.260
obviously people the word repent people don't use it very often outside of a

27:19.260 --> 27:22.980
religious connotation nowadays but these things obviously mean the same exact

27:22.980 --> 27:28.220
thing but what Jesus Christ is not doing in this story is telling these people to

27:28.220 --> 27:31.700
repent of their sins and to believe the gospel

27:31.700 --> 27:40.700
Because here's another fun fact about the word repent as well, is that the word, I should say the phrase, the phrase repent of your sins is not found anywhere in the Bible.

27:40.700 --> 27:46.700
The only book that I know of that it's in is the Book of Mormon. It actually says repent of your sins.

27:46.700 --> 27:51.700
The closest you get to repent of your sins in the Bible is what we saw in Jonah that he says to turn from your evil way.

27:51.700 --> 27:56.500
That's about as close as you get, but nowhere is the actual phrase repent of your sins found in the Bible.

27:56.800 --> 28:03.300
Not to say, because that, and I would just caveat that was saying that just because something isn't in the Bible, that doesn't always mean that the idea of it's not true.

28:03.300 --> 28:08.500
We understand this, right? Because the word Trinity is not in the Bible, but the Trinity is true, right?

28:08.500 --> 28:15.800
So, I would have you understand that. The same thing with the rapture or whatever. That's important to understand.

28:15.800 --> 28:18.500
But you guys are there in Jonah 3, verse number 9, look what the Bible says. It says,

28:19.400 --> 28:25.000
Who can tell if God will turn and repent and turn away from his fierce anger that we perish not?

28:25.000 --> 28:29.720
Now pause right there and I'll say this, that a lot of times when we tell people that

28:29.720 --> 28:32.680
you don't have to repent of your sins to be saved, they'll say to us,

28:32.680 --> 28:36.840
well how do you know that Jesus Christ wasn't telling them to repent of your sins to be saved?

28:36.840 --> 28:39.640
Here's the reason we know this, because look at what verse number 10 says,

28:39.640 --> 28:44.040
and this should debunk this beyond any shadow of a doubt to anybody that's a Bible-believing Christian.

28:44.040 --> 28:47.240
It says, and God saw their work.

28:47.400 --> 28:52.240
that they turn from their evil way. So right here the Bible is telling us that

28:52.240 --> 28:57.080
turning from your evil way is a work and we obviously know that that can't be

28:57.080 --> 29:01.080
attached to salvation then why? Because in Ephesians 2, 8, 9 it says for by grace

29:01.080 --> 29:04.320
you saved through faith and that not of yourselves is the gift of God. It says

29:04.320 --> 29:08.840
not of works thus any man should boast. So turning from your evil way if that's a

29:08.840 --> 29:12.800
work that cannot be attached to salvation. Okay this is what you

29:12.800 --> 29:15.400
understand from these verses.

29:15.400 --> 29:18.240
to stay there in Jonah chapter number three though,

29:18.240 --> 29:20.640
but I think that this story of.

29:21.100 --> 29:26.220
of um of of ninnabah can kind of confuse people a little bit and i think the reason why that is is

29:26.220 --> 29:31.100
because there are two salvation that's going on in this story okay like wait what is this like some

29:31.100 --> 29:33.820
the this has been station with him like no no that's not what i'm talking about but i'm talking

29:33.820 --> 29:36.860
about this that there is a physical salvation that's happening in this story and there is a

29:36.860 --> 29:41.820
spiritual salvation that's happening in this story and in this story they do quite go hand in hand

29:41.820 --> 29:46.860
okay and this is where people cross their wires so just kind of pay attention to the what is

29:46.860 --> 29:47.820
is actually going on in the story.

29:47.820 --> 29:49.100
Look at verse number four.

29:49.100 --> 29:51.420
of Jonah chapter number three,

29:51.420 --> 29:54.060
because what was Jonah preaching to these people

29:54.060 --> 29:56.140
when he first came into the city?

29:56.140 --> 29:58.460
It wasn't the gospel, okay, I'll tell you that.

29:58.460 --> 29:59.300
It was Jonah 3, 4,

29:59.300 --> 30:00.140
the way it says it says,

30:00.140 --> 30:02.180
and Jonah began to enter the city a day's journey,

30:02.180 --> 30:03.180
and he cried and said,

30:03.180 --> 30:06.920
"'Yet 40 days and Nineveh shall be overthrown.'"

30:06.920 --> 30:08.700
So what's he telling the people of Nineveh?

30:08.700 --> 30:10.900
He's saying, hey, you guys are gonna get destroyed.

30:10.900 --> 30:12.840
I'm gonna wipe you guys off the face of the earth.

30:12.840 --> 30:15.860
That's what God is telling the people of Nineveh.

30:15.860 --> 30:17.100
And again, what kind of destruction?

30:17.100 --> 30:19.220
is that that is a physical destruction.

30:19.220 --> 30:20.900
That is a physical destruction.

30:20.900 --> 30:22.340
And then what's the response to this?

30:22.340 --> 30:23.580
Verse number five, he says,

30:23.580 --> 30:25.060
"'So the people of Nineveh,'

30:25.060 --> 30:26.100
look what it says,

30:26.100 --> 30:28.100
"'believed God and proclaimed to fast

30:28.100 --> 30:30.520
"'and put on sackcloth from the grace of them,

30:30.520 --> 30:31.900
"'even to the least of them.'"

30:31.900 --> 30:32.960
So Jonah comes in there,

30:32.960 --> 30:35.780
he's preaching them the destruction of Nineveh,

30:35.780 --> 30:38.780
and then these people in response to the preaching.

30:39.000 --> 30:45.000
believe God. They believe that what Jonah is telling them is true. That the God that he's representing is true.

30:45.000 --> 30:49.000
And since they believe on God, what does that mean for them in terms of salvation?

30:49.000 --> 30:53.000
Means that they get their salvation, yeah? Because they get their everlasting life,

30:53.000 --> 30:56.000
is what the Bible teaches us. John 3, 16 obviously, there's many verses I could show you.

30:56.000 --> 30:59.000
But when you believe on Jesus Christ, you get your everlasting life.

30:59.000 --> 31:04.000
So these people, they believe the preaching of Jonah, and then that's how they get their spiritual salvation,

31:04.000 --> 31:07.000
but how they get their physical salvation, it says in verse number 10,

31:07.000 --> 31:10.840
and God saw their works that they turned from their evil way and God

31:10.840 --> 31:15.280
repented look what it says of the evil that he had said he would do to them and

31:15.280 --> 31:18.900
he did it not what was the evil that God says he's gonna do in Nineveh

31:19.100 --> 31:24.440
Destroy them right so God does not destroy Nineveh why because they turn from their evil way

31:24.440 --> 31:29.160
That's why so you see there that there's the spiritual salvation that they believe on God first

31:29.160 --> 31:35.400
And then they turn from their wicked way so they're spared from the destruction physically of God

31:36.000 --> 31:41.540
So, but this is the same thing that I point out to you guys that is true with us nowadays that when we believe on God

31:41.540 --> 31:43.540
That's how we get our salvation

31:43.940 --> 31:46.200
It says that I mean I already showed you

31:46.500 --> 31:51.940
Ephesians 2 8 9 but so many verses of the Bible teaches that you get your salvation by believing on Jesus Christ, right?

31:51.940 --> 31:57.040
That it says in Romans 10 9 that if I will confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus and shall believe in my heart that God

31:57.040 --> 32:00.360
Raised him from the dead thou shalt be saved, right? So

32:01.000 --> 32:02.300
That's what the Bible teaches us.

32:02.300 --> 32:09.000
But then, does that mean that we'll never face any consequences for the rest of our life after we're saved?

32:09.000 --> 32:13.700
No. If we just go out and live a wicked life after we get saved, guess what could happen to us?

32:13.700 --> 32:16.200
We can get wiped out the face of earth just like Nineveh as well.

32:16.200 --> 32:20.800
That if, I mean in Hebrews he tells us that he chastens us, he chastens every son we receive,

32:20.800 --> 32:24.400
and think about the people in the Bible that were believers that God did take home early,

32:24.400 --> 32:29.000
like King Saul for example, or Ananias and Sivirah, or the old...

32:29.000 --> 32:31.520
the prophet in the Old Testament who's prophesying the word of the Lord,

32:31.520 --> 32:35.280
he tells him, don't go back and eat with that in the city that I had you come out of.

32:35.280 --> 32:37.120
And then the other guy comes and tricks him, is like,

32:37.120 --> 32:38.760
oh, God told me actually to come to the city.

32:38.760 --> 32:40.640
This is a very odd story, okay?

32:40.640 --> 32:42.160
Then he gets mauled by a lion.

32:42.160 --> 32:45.000
But I bring it up to say this, is that we see all throughout the Bible

32:45.000 --> 32:49.720
that this is consistently true, that you get your salvation by believing on God.

32:49.720 --> 32:52.600
But then when it comes to a physical salvation,

32:52.600 --> 32:54.400
your physical well-being on this earth,

32:54.400 --> 32:56.960
if you don't obey God, he can destroy you.

32:57.000 --> 33:00.920
Okay, and he can chase in you. That's what the Bible teaches us

33:00.920 --> 33:08.300
So what we should understand from these verses then is that repenting spiritually gives you a spiritual salvation that changing your mind and believing on God

33:08.420 --> 33:13.860
Gives you spiritual salvation, but repenting physically like changing your actions will save you

33:14.580 --> 33:17.080
That I don't know if I said that backwards right did I say spiritually okay?

33:17.080 --> 33:20.180
Okay, yeah that repenting spiritually give you spiritual salvation

33:20.440 --> 33:24.880
But repenting physically will give you a physical salvation that if you choose to obey

33:25.000 --> 33:29.160
God's commandments he's gonna bless your life but if you choose to rebel against

33:29.160 --> 33:34.960
God after you get saved he will crack the whip on you. But this is also what we

33:34.960 --> 33:37.320
should understand from these verses where you guys you guys are in Jonah right

33:37.320 --> 33:42.600
so go to Romans 6 verse number 6 Romans 6 verse number 6

33:43.600 --> 33:50.080
We should understand then that from these verses that you do not have to be you do not the repent of your sins to be saved

33:50.080 --> 33:54.960
You have to believe on Jesus Christ first and then you're allowed to repent of your sins

33:54.960 --> 33:58.160
Okay, then you're able to repent of your sins not for salvation

33:58.160 --> 34:01.920
But just in general you're old because I'm gonna show you guys as we get to Romans 6 6

34:01.920 --> 34:05.900
That a lot of people get this backwards that they they try to tie these things hand-to-hand

34:05.900 --> 34:08.960
If I'd say like they'll say, you know, the two sides of the same coin a lot of times

34:08.960 --> 34:11.600
they'll be like repentance and belief as far as

34:11.600 --> 34:15.920
Repentance of sins okay, they'll say it's two sides of the same coin be like you have to repent of your sins and

34:16.200 --> 34:18.580
Believe in God at the same time for your salvation

34:18.580 --> 34:24.620
This is not true though you have to believe on God first and then you're able to repent of your sense

34:24.620 --> 34:26.440
This is what the Bible teaches us. It's very clear

34:26.440 --> 34:31.000
That's why I have you guys in Romans 6 because he tells us in Romans 6 that before we're saved

34:31.120 --> 34:34.320
We're servants to send we're in bondage to sin

34:34.320 --> 34:39.460
We are slaves to send if you will, but then once we believe on Jesus Christ

34:39.600 --> 34:43.280
then we're free to serve him. Then we're free to walk in the Spirit. That's what

34:43.280 --> 34:47.360
the Bible teaches. Look what it says in Romans 6, 6. He says, knowing this, that our old man

34:47.360 --> 34:52.000
is crucified with him. When does that happen? When we believe on Jesus Christ. It says that the body

34:52.000 --> 34:58.240
of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth, which means from that point forward, we should not serve

34:58.240 --> 35:02.480
sin. So you don't choose to serve sin while you're still in bondage to sin. You can choose not to

35:02.480 --> 35:06.560
serve sin after you make Jesus Christ your Lord. That's, I mean, that's even why we say this, right?

35:06.560 --> 35:07.600
that you make Jesus Christ your God.

35:07.600 --> 35:10.620
Like Jesus Christ when you believe on him, he becomes your Lord, right?

35:10.620 --> 35:15.620
He becomes your Lord and at that point you can choose to no longer walk in your flesh.

35:15.620 --> 35:20.900
You can choose to walk in the spirit instead. Go to 2nd Corinthians 11 verse number 3.

35:22.180 --> 35:28.000
2nd Corinthians 11 verse number 3. But the reason we make a big deal about this, okay?

35:28.600 --> 35:31.480
because sometimes it can sound a little bit like nitpicky,

35:31.480 --> 35:35.880
is because there are countless people out there that get very confused with this

35:35.880 --> 35:39.000
subject. And we meet people all the time out there around so many that are

35:39.000 --> 35:44.200
confused about this subject. Because the reality is there's a wide

35:44.200 --> 35:47.880
variety of beliefs on what it means to repent your sins. Because people say

35:47.880 --> 35:49.500
you get to repent your sins to be saved.

35:49.600 --> 35:51.600
And then it's like, but what do you mean by that though?

35:51.600 --> 35:54.640
Because here's the thing, and I give a disclaimer about this.

35:54.640 --> 35:59.040
Some people, when they say repent of your sins, what they mean is that you have to understand you're a sinner.

35:59.400 --> 36:04.800
Think that terminology is wrong, but that is true that you have to understand that you're a sinner to be saved

36:04.800 --> 36:07.680
There's no question about it that when the Bible I mean

36:07.680 --> 36:10.360
That's what we start our every gospel presentation with that we have out so many

36:10.840 --> 36:15.200
Romans 3 23 for all of sin and control the word of God because you have to know what you're getting saved from

36:15.540 --> 36:17.400
To get saved in the first place, right?

36:17.400 --> 36:21.720
You have to know what you're getting saved from in order to get saved and go to heaven

36:21.720 --> 36:27.260
So if people don't believe that they're a sinner, then they cannot be saved. This is 100% true. We understand this, right?

36:27.400 --> 36:33.540
But then there's other people that I've talked to and I disagree with this to the max where I would say

36:33.540 --> 36:36.260
I wouldn't even just say it's heresy that it just is heresy, okay?

36:36.260 --> 36:38.580
Me and my brother Anthony talked to this guy when we were down in Vancouver

36:38.580 --> 36:40.180
I brought this up a couple of Wednesdays ago I think

36:40.180 --> 36:46.200
But we talked to this guy who's a Russian and he was telling us that he repented of all this sins when he got saved

36:46.200 --> 36:51.200
And when I said, what do you mean by that? He said, I mean that I don't sin anymore

36:51.200 --> 36:55.360
And he was like straight-faced. He's not like, and he doesn't mean like I don't commit, you know

36:55.400 --> 37:00.240
big sins anymore. He means like I don't sin anymore. He was like because the Bible says

37:00.240 --> 37:03.000
that you have to repent of your sins. He was like and what does it mean to repent of your

37:03.000 --> 37:07.200
sins? It means to turn from them, to no longer do them is what he said. So he was telling

37:07.200 --> 37:10.360
us that from the time that he got saved, which I think he said he got saved when he was like

37:10.360 --> 37:14.440
18 or whatever, he was probably like 20 something at the time, he said he's now committed one

37:14.440 --> 37:19.960
sin since then. I mean that's just a straight up lie. That's not true. Nobody, nobody has

37:19.960 --> 37:23.400
overcome sin completely in their flesh not even

37:23.400 --> 37:25.360
and the apostle Paul has done that.

37:25.360 --> 37:28.340
And you guys are going to 2 Corinthians 11 verse number three.

37:28.340 --> 37:29.660
But I didn't want to give that disclaimer

37:29.660 --> 37:31.900
because when I say repent of your sins,

37:31.900 --> 37:33.940
it's important to understand that there's a wide variety

37:33.940 --> 37:34.960
of definitions out there.

37:34.960 --> 37:39.820
So that they're not all equal is what I'd say.

37:39.820 --> 37:41.740
Like thinking that you have to understand you're a sinner

37:41.740 --> 37:42.680
that's very logical,

37:42.680 --> 37:45.400
but trying to say that you don't commit sin anymore,

37:45.400 --> 37:46.940
and that's what you think it means to repent of your sins

37:46.940 --> 37:47.780
is garbage.

37:47.780 --> 37:49.820
It's simply not true, okay?

37:49.820 --> 37:51.400
But you guys are there in 2 Corinthians.

37:51.400 --> 37:56.700
11 verse number three the reason why though we distance ourself from this

37:56.700 --> 38:00.580
phrasing of repent of your sins is because it confuses people okay and the

38:00.580 --> 38:02.980
Bible teaches us that there's a simplicity in the gospel of Christ

38:02.980 --> 38:07.820
look at it says in second Corinthians 11.3 it says but I fear lest by any means as the

38:07.820 --> 38:10.980
serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety so your mind should be corrupted from

38:10.980 --> 38:16.220
the simplicity that is in Christ the beauty of the gospel is that it's simple

38:16.220 --> 38:19.400
to understand it's simple to obey it's simple to believe in

38:19.400 --> 38:23.200
And if God loves us so much, then he would make salvation easy for us, right?

38:23.200 --> 38:29.600
So we tell them all the time when we're not so only it's true. The gospel is simple. The gospel of Jesus Christ is simple

38:29.600 --> 38:31.280
There's a simplicity in Christ

38:31.280 --> 38:38.520
But when people add these phrases to the gospel it destroys some of the simplicity because it's confusing and and what I mean by it

38:38.520 --> 38:42.060
Being confusing is this is that my whole life I grew up in different Baptist churches

38:42.060 --> 38:47.240
And when I would ask people what they meant by what it means to repent of your sins. I got

38:47.400 --> 38:50.680
different answer every single time. Everyone has a different answer for what

38:50.680 --> 38:53.920
it means. Because some people that I talk to and I say what does it mean to repent

38:53.920 --> 38:57.840
from your sins? They'll say it means to turn from all of your

38:57.840 --> 39:02.640
sins. From all of your sins? Yes, from all of your sins. So then I ask them, so you

39:02.640 --> 39:06.600
don't sin anymore? No, I mean I still sin but I turn from my sins. It's like

39:06.600 --> 39:10.800
wait a minute though. It doesn't make any sense okay? Because think about this logically.

39:10.800 --> 39:15.400
When you turn from something, like if I were to say to you, I turned away from

39:15.400 --> 39:20.080
a life of crime. How many crimes do you think I'm committing then if I tell you that? Zero,

39:20.080 --> 39:24.120
right? So if I say I turned away from my sins, I turned away from a life of sin, how many

39:24.120 --> 39:28.360
sins am I really telling you that I commit then? It'd be zero, right? If you're actually

39:28.360 --> 39:33.080
like holding this definition to its fullest logical conclusion. Go to Romans 7 verse number

39:33.080 --> 39:37.080
25 though. Romans 7 verse number 25.

39:37.600 --> 39:41.500
Because this is the thing I was telling you like even with that Russian guy that I was talking to

39:41.920 --> 39:46.300
Nobody has fully turned from their sins because we all still sin every single day

39:46.300 --> 39:51.180
That's the reality in our flesh as long as we have our flesh. We will be sinners

39:51.180 --> 39:55.800
This is what the Bible teaches us. We are supposed to walk in the spirit and restrain our flesh

39:56.060 --> 39:58.160
But we don't always get this victory

39:58.160 --> 40:03.940
We don't always overcome our flesh even though God has given us the ability to do so and we see this with the Apostle

40:03.940 --> 40:05.600
Paul he says I think God

40:05.600 --> 40:10.520
Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God but

40:10.520 --> 40:14.320
with the flesh the law of sin. And this is why I was just talking about in 1st

40:14.320 --> 40:18.480
Corinthians why flesh and blood does not inherit the kingdom of God because your

40:18.480 --> 40:21.840
flesh is corrupt and your flesh stays corrupted till the day you die. That's

40:21.840 --> 40:26.000
why when we all die when he raises it again he gives us a new glorified body

40:26.000 --> 40:29.880
and that's why when the people that are still here for the rapture when they

40:29.880 --> 40:33.600
get raptured up their change is what it says their change from their sinful

40:33.600 --> 40:39.120
flesh to their glorified perfect body. And so even Paul, the apostle, who's one

40:39.120 --> 40:42.720
of the greatest Christians there is, says that he struggled with serving

40:42.720 --> 40:46.840
God and with his flesh serving the law of sin. And if we're all being honest, we

40:46.840 --> 40:49.940
all struggle with sin. I mean anybody that would tell me that they just don't

40:49.940 --> 40:53.960
say anymore is just a straight-up liar. John tells us this. He says if we say we

40:53.960 --> 40:57.600
have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us is what he says.

40:57.600 --> 41:00.200
So we all sin.

41:00.200 --> 41:03.600
being born again, we are made a new creature.

41:03.600 --> 41:05.000
In Jesus Christ, our new man is perfect,

41:05.000 --> 41:06.360
but our flesh is never perfect.

41:06.360 --> 41:08.680
That's why we have to drop our flesh

41:08.680 --> 41:11.440
and get the glorified body one day.

41:11.440 --> 41:13.040
Go to James 2, verse number 10 though,

41:13.040 --> 41:15.360
James 2, verse number 10,

41:15.360 --> 41:18.680
because the reality is that we should try to walk

41:18.680 --> 41:21.240
in the spirit and this should not be a license to sin.

41:21.240 --> 41:22.960
I mean, I'll just pause that right there and say this,

41:22.960 --> 41:25.920
that some people do just use their flesh as like a license

41:25.920 --> 41:27.240
to just go and live wickedly

41:27.240 --> 41:28.200
and just kind of throw their hands in the air.

41:28.200 --> 41:30.360
and be like, well, we're all gonna see at the end of the day.

41:30.360 --> 41:32.520
That should not be your attitude for sin though.

41:32.520 --> 41:36.280
We should constantly strive to get every single thing

41:36.280 --> 41:38.520
that we perceive and that we understand to be sinful

41:38.520 --> 41:39.480
out of our lives.

41:39.480 --> 41:42.760
There's no excuse for it because Jesus Christ died

41:42.760 --> 41:45.640
so that we no longer have to be servants to sin.

41:45.640 --> 41:47.320
So he says to walk in the spirit.

41:47.320 --> 41:48.840
And if you call Jesus Christ, Lord, Lord,

41:48.840 --> 41:50.280
he says, if you call me Lord, Lord,

41:50.280 --> 41:51.480
why don't you do the things that I say?

41:52.280 --> 41:54.440
Because how ironic is it to call Jesus Christ your Lord,

41:54.440 --> 41:55.880
to call Jesus Christ your master.

41:55.880 --> 41:56.200
And

41:56.200 --> 41:58.240
and then not serve him like he is your master.

41:58.240 --> 41:59.560
It's nonsense, right?

41:59.560 --> 42:02.520
So this should never be a license to sin.

42:02.520 --> 42:06.080
But the reality is, is that you have not arrived,

42:06.080 --> 42:07.480
the apostle Paul didn't arrive.

42:07.480 --> 42:10.300
Nobody will fully conquer.

42:10.400 --> 42:14.780
They're sending their flesh to the point where they never send until they did it. I actually get say this is just not true

42:14.780 --> 42:17.220
Because people tell stories about that like I got saved

42:17.220 --> 42:22.780
I just lost all my desire for everything since then no you didn't do it's it's a lie. I don't believe it

42:22.780 --> 42:26.860
Okay, maybe you lost a desire for some of the bigger sins you have but there's no way you just like woke up

42:26.860 --> 42:28.500
And we're like, you know what?

42:28.600 --> 42:32.520
I'm just not gonna do anything bad anymore because this breaks this analogy with the Bible anyways

42:32.520 --> 42:37.880
because the Bible says that when you get saved you're a babe in Christ. Do babies just turn over

42:37.880 --> 42:41.800
and leave and they do everything perfect from the get-go? No, they have to grow up, they have to

42:41.800 --> 42:46.280
learn, they have to struggle. So the same is true with us as Christians as well and like some people

42:46.280 --> 42:50.840
might like do better than others at getting sin out of their life earlier when they get saved

42:50.840 --> 42:55.960
but the reality is is that nobody just wakes up and is all of a sudden perfect. It's not real okay

42:55.960 --> 42:56.600
but this is the

42:56.600 --> 42:59.720
second thing because I'll say when you push back on that and be like you have to turn from all

42:59.720 --> 43:01.240
sides and then they'll be like well...

43:01.600 --> 43:04.600
not all sins, but you have to turn from your big sins, okay?

43:04.600 --> 43:07.400
The big sins, it's like, who's the judge of that, okay?

43:07.400 --> 43:09.000
Because this is what I found with people is that

43:09.000 --> 43:11.500
people think that whatever sins they're doing,

43:11.500 --> 43:13.000
this is always the truth of humanity,

43:13.000 --> 43:14.700
whatever sins you're doing, they like,

43:14.700 --> 43:18.000
oh, that's a minor sin, but then someone else's sin,

43:18.000 --> 43:19.800
they're like, oh, that's huge, right?

43:19.800 --> 43:22.900
But like, if you're not, you know,

43:22.900 --> 43:26.100
on alcohol, looking at pornography or doing drugs,

43:26.100 --> 43:27.800
you're like, those are really big sins.

43:27.800 --> 43:29.000
But then if someone is doing those things,

43:29.000 --> 43:29.600
and they'd be like...

43:29.600 --> 43:34.120
Whoa, those aren't big sense though. It's it's murder and adultery and for a case in that are big sins

43:34.120 --> 43:36.200
It's like okay who's but this is the reality

43:36.200 --> 43:40.360
That's why I'm here in James 2 10 and I'm not saying that all sins equal because all sin is not equal

43:40.400 --> 43:42.400
That's not what Bible teaches us the Bible

43:42.440 --> 43:46.360
All sin is equal in the sense that it'll all condemn us to hell if you have one sin

43:46.600 --> 43:53.520
But God does not see you murdering someone and you lying to someone as being just the exact same thing

43:53.520 --> 43:57.600
That's why there's different classifications of death penalties in the Old Testament. That's why

43:57.600 --> 44:00.660
there's different punishments for sin. That's why some sins in the New Testament

44:00.660 --> 44:03.700
get you kicked out of church and other sins you can still stay in the church if

44:03.700 --> 44:06.780
you put in those sins. Okay so I just pointed out to you but look what it says

44:06.780 --> 44:09.420
there in James 2 because talk about turning from only your big sins. It says

44:09.420 --> 44:13.900
for whosoever shall keep the whole law and yet offended one point he is guilty

44:13.900 --> 44:18.740
of all. If this is true then why would it be that I only have to turn from my big

44:18.740 --> 44:20.000
sins to be saved?

44:20.200 --> 44:21.960
That doesn't make sense, okay?

44:21.960 --> 44:24.000
And what if you try to turn from your big sense

44:24.000 --> 44:25.840
and then you fall back to them later on in your life?

44:25.840 --> 44:27.240
Did you not really repent then?

44:27.240 --> 44:29.360
And it's like, how many sins did the thief on the cross

44:29.360 --> 44:30.600
repent of when he got saved?

44:30.600 --> 44:32.040
It's like, there's just so many things.

44:32.040 --> 44:33.440
Like, that's what I'm trying to show you guys

44:33.440 --> 44:35.560
is that when you add this to the gospel,

44:35.560 --> 44:37.920
it just opens up so many more questions

44:37.920 --> 44:40.160
and so much more confusion than the simplicity

44:40.160 --> 44:42.520
that it's supposed to be in Jesus Christ.

44:43.300 --> 44:46.420
But because and then like I brought the thing on the cross because that's a big one

44:46.420 --> 44:49.440
I'll be like how many sins did he repent of and they'll be like well, okay. Here's the thing

44:49.900 --> 44:52.900
It's kind of like what that Catholic guy just told Kylie when she was out so wanting.

44:52.900 --> 44:56.500
It's like, you have to be willing to turn from your sins.

44:56.500 --> 44:57.800
Willing to turn from your sins.

44:57.800 --> 45:02.100
It's like, I just think it's like, I don't even know what that means, first of all.

45:02.100 --> 45:06.200
But second of all, even if you were to say, okay, it's like, that's not what Jesus says though.

45:06.200 --> 45:09.700
Because again, when I believe that when Jesus Christ says, repent, believe the gospel,

45:09.700 --> 45:12.000
I don't think he's talking about your sins at all, period.

45:12.000 --> 45:17.400
But even if you were to say that right there, he doesn't say to be willing to repent and believe.

45:17.400 --> 45:17.900
He says.

45:17.900 --> 45:25.140
Repent and believe the gospel so you can't have it both ways right there and like a like a willingness not to say anymore

45:25.800 --> 45:27.500
That's not actually what's found in the Bible

45:27.500 --> 45:27.940
Okay

45:27.940 --> 45:33.760
Because in our flesh we all want to send especially before you even get saved in the first place people want to sin

45:33.760 --> 45:40.480
Okay, they want to live in their flesh go to Romans 1 16 the Romans 1 verse number 16 all these things like I said again

45:40.480 --> 45:42.300
I'm showing you these things because

45:42.600 --> 45:47.320
When you add repentance of your sins to the gospel, it adds confusion.

45:47.320 --> 45:52.200
And God is not the author of confusion. God is a God of simplicity, and there's a simplicity in

45:52.200 --> 45:57.400
the gospel of Christ and in Jesus Christ himself. And this is the simplicity that's the gospel.

45:57.400 --> 46:01.560
That if you believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and you put your

46:01.560 --> 46:05.480
faith on Jesus Christ, you call upon the name of the Lord to be saved, you are saved. This is what

46:05.480 --> 46:10.440
the Bible teaches us. Romans 1-16, it says, for I am not a shade of the gospel of Christ,

46:10.600 --> 46:13.340
for it is the power of God unto salvation

46:13.340 --> 46:16.220
to everyone that believeth, to the Jew first,

46:16.220 --> 46:17.620
and also to the Greek.

46:17.620 --> 46:21.060
In 1 Corinthians 15 verse one it says,

46:21.060 --> 46:24.060
moreover brethren, I declare unto you the gospel

46:24.060 --> 46:26.260
which I preach unto you, which also you have received

46:26.260 --> 46:28.220
and wherein you stand, by which also you are saved

46:28.220 --> 46:30.500
if you keep in memory what I preach unto you

46:30.500 --> 46:31.840
unless you bleed in vain.

46:31.840 --> 46:32.980
For I deliver unto you first of all

46:32.980 --> 46:34.620
that which I also received, how that Christ died

46:34.620 --> 46:36.000
for our sins according to the scriptures,

46:36.000 --> 46:38.060
and that he was buried, and that he rose again

46:38.060 --> 46:38.600
the third day.

46:38.600 --> 46:44.500
According to the scriptures the Bible says the person that believes these things they will call upon the name of Lord doesn't we've been

46:44.500 --> 46:48.140
Discussed about Romans 10 with the one at the will they will call upon the name of Lord for salvation

46:48.140 --> 46:53.200
And it says for whosoever shall call upon the name of Lord shall be saved the person that calls will be saved

46:53.200 --> 46:58.300
That's what and the Bible says I believe therefore I've spoken the Bible says out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaking

46:58.460 --> 47:00.740
so these things like

47:01.520 --> 47:06.600
These things are are all true and all biblical and hopefully I prove that to you so far in

47:06.600 --> 47:11.520
this sermon, okay? But then all this argument that I've given for against

47:11.520 --> 47:14.600
repent of your sins, I want to give some pushback from objections that I've heard

47:14.600 --> 47:18.280
from myself from people that that don't agree with you. Okay, go to Luke three

47:18.600 --> 47:22.400
verse number three, because some people when they'll tell us when we will tell

47:22.400 --> 47:26.000
them like we believe in repentance, but not repenting of your sins to be saved.

47:26.400 --> 47:32.400
And then when we tell them, hey, no, we understand, like, you have to understand your sin, but we don't believe that that's what repenting your sins means.

47:32.400 --> 47:36.400
That they'll say, well, what about John? Because John preached repentance.

47:36.400 --> 47:48.400
John, or yeah, Luke three, verse number three, the Bible says, and he said, and he came into all the country about Jordan preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

47:48.400 --> 47:53.400
So was John preaching repentance? He absolutely was, right? He's preaching repentance.

47:53.400 --> 47:54.400
I mean, you see this all the time.

47:54.400 --> 47:57.400
in all the gospels, right, that he's preaching about repentance, that...

47:57.800 --> 48:01.320
that but what is he teaching these people that's that's the key okay go to

48:01.320 --> 48:04.600
acts 19 verse number two because we agree that john is

48:04.600 --> 48:07.000
repeating preaching repentance because like i was just telling you earlier we

48:07.000 --> 48:08.920
preach repentance when we go out so many

48:08.920 --> 48:12.600
we tell people if you don't believe on jesus christ

48:12.600 --> 48:15.400
you need to change your mind you need to believe on the gospel jesus christ

48:15.400 --> 48:18.760
that is repentance we're telling them to change your mind we're telling them to

48:18.760 --> 48:21.720
turn from whatever they trust in and to trust in jesus christ

48:21.720 --> 48:24.840
instead but here's the thing about john because people be like that's not what

48:24.840 --> 48:25.800
what John was teaching the bull.

48:25.800 --> 48:28.680
Oh, but it was what John was teaching people because look what it says in Acts 19

48:28.680 --> 48:33.880
This is Paul describing and I think it's beautiful that the the New Testament like lays this out so beautifully for us

48:33.880 --> 48:38.960
It says he said unto them have you received the Holy Ghost since he believed and they said unto him

48:38.960 --> 48:42.760
We have not so much as her would there be any Holy Ghost and he said unto them unto

48:43.200 --> 48:49.040
What then were you baptized and they said unto John's baptism then said Paul and look what he says

48:49.600 --> 48:55.460
John barely baptized with the baptism of repentance saying into the people that they should believe on him

48:55.460 --> 48:58.160
Which should come after him that is on Christ Jesus

48:58.160 --> 49:03.440
So what was John preaching to people to believe on Jesus Christ and we see this in the teaching of the gospel, right?

49:03.440 --> 49:10.020
He's like, hey, I'm just the I'm just the bridegroom. He's like but the actual groom which is Jesus Christ

49:10.020 --> 49:16.140
He's the one you guys have to believe on he's like I'm there's one coming that's that's that's mightier than I he says whose

49:16.880 --> 49:17.600
shoes

49:17.600 --> 49:24.840
Latchett who sandals actually he's not even worthy to unloose he's pointing them to Jesus Christ and then think about John in his ministry

49:24.980 --> 49:26.040
What was his whole goal?

49:26.040 --> 49:31.400
It was to prepare the way for the Lord says to make a highway to the Lord and it's to turn the heart to the father

49:31.400 --> 49:33.340
So the children of children's hearts to their fathers

49:33.340 --> 49:38.440
That's what it says and the old cousin prophecies of in Malachi believe that were that time and Isaiah is where it's at respectively

49:38.440 --> 49:45.580
Okay, so John was teaching people what to repent to repent how though by believing on Jesus Christ. That's how that's

49:45.600 --> 49:47.360
what he was teaching these people.

49:47.360 --> 49:48.600
And you can't argue with that

49:48.600 --> 49:50.280
because that's what the text itself says.

49:50.280 --> 49:53.460
That's the apostle Paul who's saying this in Acts 19.

49:53.460 --> 49:54.920
But as a little side note,

49:54.920 --> 49:56.640
a little commercial break from repentance,

49:56.640 --> 49:58.160
this should also show us in this passage,

49:58.160 --> 49:59.800
a beautiful passage that...

49:59.900 --> 50:02.300
you do not have to be baptized to be saved, okay?

50:02.300 --> 50:05.100
And then baptism doesn't forgive you of your sins

50:05.100 --> 50:07.420
because these people were baptized

50:07.420 --> 50:09.900
and they were not saved, we say in this story.

50:09.900 --> 50:11.580
They have to get saved first

50:11.580 --> 50:13.660
and then he baptizes them again.

50:13.660 --> 50:15.180
That's where we get our name from as Baptists

50:15.180 --> 50:17.100
is we were just telling this woman at the door yesterday.

50:17.100 --> 50:19.580
They called us Anabaptists, which means what?

50:19.580 --> 50:21.180
To rebaptize, right?

50:21.180 --> 50:21.660
Why?

50:21.660 --> 50:22.940
Because we looked at the Catholic church

50:22.940 --> 50:24.220
and their baptism was like, hey,

50:24.220 --> 50:25.580
sprinkling isn't baptism.

50:25.580 --> 50:27.660
You gotta dunk someone under the water and-

50:27.900 --> 50:31.340
and sprinkling a baby that doesn't believe on Jesus Christ doesn't mean anything,

50:31.340 --> 50:36.300
you actually have to believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is your Lord and your Savior and his gospel

50:36.300 --> 50:39.500
for your baptism to count is what these verses show us.

50:39.500 --> 50:43.100
So it absolutely smokes this idea that infant baptism is a thing.

50:44.220 --> 50:49.500
Because these people, this shows us that you have to understand why you're being baptized in the first place for it to count.

50:50.500 --> 50:53.700
And baptism, as I said, doesn't have to do with salvation.

50:53.700 --> 50:56.500
Not the water baptism, but this is the baptism you need for salvation,

50:56.500 --> 50:57.940
the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

50:57.940 --> 50:59.020
This is what John also says.

50:59.020 --> 51:01.300
He's like, hey, I baptize you guys with water.

51:01.300 --> 51:04.420
He's like, but there's one that's coming after me that's going to baptize you with fire

51:04.420 --> 51:05.900
and with the Holy Ghost.

51:05.900 --> 51:08.100
So that's the baptism you need to be saved.

51:08.100 --> 51:10.100
And the fire is hell, obviously, right?

51:10.100 --> 51:12.380
To be baptized in fires to go to hell.

51:12.380 --> 51:14.900
But the baptism of the Holy Ghost is to be saved.

51:14.900 --> 51:18.420
Because in Romans, he tells us that the kingdom of God is righteousness, joy, and peace.

51:18.500 --> 51:25.220
peace in the Holy Ghost. Go to 2 Corinthians 7 verse 9. Ok, 2 Corinthians 7 verse number

51:25.220 --> 51:28.780
9. This should also show us while you guys are turning there as well, I want to point

51:28.780 --> 51:34.380
out to you, that this should show us that we will have people that are false converts

51:34.380 --> 51:37.940
from time to time out-soul-wanting, ok? Because sometimes people will criticize our numbers,

51:37.940 --> 51:42.660
like we put the number in the bulletin for salvation, like we have 121 right now out-soul-wanting,

51:42.660 --> 51:44.300
Sometimes they criticize us, people be like...

51:44.300 --> 51:47.300
Do you really believe all 120 of those people got saved?

51:47.300 --> 51:49.800
It's like the reality is like, we don't know, okay?

51:49.800 --> 51:51.300
Like, this is what we know.

51:51.300 --> 51:54.300
Is that the Bible commands us to go out and preach the gospel

51:54.300 --> 51:56.800
and the Bible says if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus

51:56.800 --> 51:58.800
and believe in that heart that God raised from the dead, that shall be saved.

51:58.800 --> 52:02.300
So when someone prays and calls upon the name of the Lord with us out-soulening,

52:02.300 --> 52:03.600
we assume that they're saved.

52:03.600 --> 52:08.600
Now, we can't look into their heart and judge, like, I can't look at every 121,

52:08.600 --> 52:11.800
every 121 of those persons on our bulletin and be like,

52:11.800 --> 52:12.300
I'm

52:12.300 --> 52:14.460
I guarantee every single one of them are saved.

52:14.460 --> 52:16.700
But this is what I do know, is that some of them are getting saved.

52:16.700 --> 52:20.760
And I know this because we have people in this church that came from us going out and

52:20.760 --> 52:22.060
preaching the gospel to them.

52:22.060 --> 52:24.860
Brother Kyle got saved by, were you brother Ryan, right?

52:24.860 --> 52:25.860
Out souling.

52:25.860 --> 52:29.500
Miss Amanda and Callie got saved out souling.

52:29.500 --> 52:31.620
Miss Shanika got saved when she was out souling.

52:31.620 --> 52:35.900
Brother Aaron, who hopefully is going to come back here pretty soon, okay, was going, but

52:35.900 --> 52:36.900
now it's going to a different church.

52:36.900 --> 52:39.540
And then Miss Larissa as well, even though she's not coming here, she's going to a different

52:39.540 --> 52:40.300
church.

52:40.300 --> 52:42.800
We see the fruit of people getting saved out so many.

52:42.800 --> 52:44.800
It's just not always that people come in droves,

52:44.800 --> 52:46.040
but this shouldn't surprise us either

52:46.040 --> 52:49.040
because not even Jesus had 100% success rate

52:49.040 --> 52:50.400
of people coming back to him.

52:50.400 --> 52:52.000
Even think about the story with the lepers.

52:52.000 --> 52:54.360
Like he heals 10 lepers,

52:54.360 --> 52:56.400
but how many come back to give him thanks?

52:56.400 --> 52:57.240
One of them.

52:57.240 --> 52:58.280
And he's like, where's the nine?

52:58.280 --> 52:59.800
And it's the question we ask ourselves sometimes.

52:59.800 --> 53:01.120
We're like, where's everybody else at?

53:01.120 --> 53:03.320
Jesus Christ gave you the free gift of salvation.

53:03.320 --> 53:04.400
Why aren't you coming back to church

53:04.400 --> 53:07.440
and at least worshiping him and thanking him for it?

53:07.440 --> 53:08.300
But we don't always know.

53:08.300 --> 53:10.640
people's minds. We don't always know why they don't do these things, but this is

53:10.640 --> 53:14.040
what I know is that Jesus healed 10 lepers and only one of them came back.

53:14.040 --> 53:18.300
And Jesus is perfect in everything that he does. So we don't always know...

53:18.400 --> 53:23.680
why it is that people don't just come in droves to our church even after they get saved.

53:23.680 --> 53:26.880
I can give you a good hint though, it's because like I said, they're babes of Christ

53:26.880 --> 53:30.320
and they have their flesh still and then they live in and Lord willing though,

53:31.600 --> 53:34.800
then they get convicted by the Holy Spirit in their heart and they eventually start to move in

53:34.800 --> 53:38.400
the right direction and sometimes it just takes time for people. Like I've told you with my dad

53:38.400 --> 53:42.480
before, when he first got saved he didn't just immediately go to church, he got saved at a Chinese

53:42.480 --> 53:46.240
food restaurant. Someone preaching the gospel, praise God for that, super awesome. His testimony is

53:46.400 --> 53:48.240
super awesome, okay?

53:48.240 --> 53:49.440
But he didn't go to church right away,

53:49.440 --> 53:50.720
and then when he did come to church,

53:50.720 --> 53:51.680
I think it was like a year later,

53:51.680 --> 53:53.680
if my memory serves me right,

53:53.680 --> 53:56.720
he came to church in these basketball short shorts,

53:56.720 --> 53:57.920
the old school ones, okay?

53:57.920 --> 53:59.720
It's like, whoa, okay.

53:59.720 --> 54:00.840
Yeah, don't imagine it, okay?

54:00.840 --> 54:01.800
It's crazy, okay?

54:01.800 --> 54:03.960
And then a blazer's jersey that he had on,

54:03.960 --> 54:05.480
and then he goes to the pastor of the sermon

54:05.480 --> 54:08.560
and is like, hey, what do you think about casting out demons?

54:08.560 --> 54:11.200
It's like, what can you expect though?

54:11.200 --> 54:12.320
He's a babe in Christ, right?

54:12.320 --> 54:14.300
So this is what you should understand is that...

54:14.700 --> 54:17.740
Sometimes people that we get saved out so they might not come to our church

54:17.740 --> 54:22.640
But they probably go to some other church or even if they don't this is what we know is that when someone believes

54:22.640 --> 54:24.780
It's the gospel that's power salvation

54:24.780 --> 54:28.460
And we can't always we can't always tell who gets saved and who doesn't get saved

54:28.460 --> 54:33.660
But we know that God knows and we know this that if anybody if we go out and preach the gospel and even one person

54:33.660 --> 54:37.420
Out of those 121 people got saved it was all worth it in the end though

54:38.100 --> 54:40.320
because because the the angels

54:40.980 --> 54:42.700
rejoice over one sinner that

54:42.700 --> 54:47.740
repentance is what the Bible teaches us. So anyways, you guys are there in 2 Corinthians

54:47.740 --> 54:54.540
7 verse number 9. So all that to say is that what was John telling people? He was preaching

54:54.540 --> 54:57.740
them to repent, but the repentance that he was teaching them was to believe on him that

54:57.740 --> 55:02.460
was to come after, and that was on Jesus Christ. The second objection sometimes that people

55:02.460 --> 55:06.940
say to what we believe about repentance is in 2 Corinthians 7, 9 it says

55:07.400 --> 55:24.100
Now I rejoice not that you were made sorry, but that you sorrow to repentance for you were made sorry after a godly sort that you might receive damage by us and nothing for godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

55:24.100 --> 55:30.800
This is another definition sometimes that people will add to the repentance list that I covered this earlier, but they'll say what it means to repent of your sins.

55:30.800 --> 55:33.300
It means to be really, really, really sorry for your sins.

55:33.300 --> 55:34.600
Like how sorry?

55:35.100 --> 55:37.500
They're not gonna give you an exact answer because how can you okay?

55:37.500 --> 55:41.140
But at least you'd have at least one tear okay, or you didn't really believe on just credit

55:41.140 --> 55:47.260
Not really okay, but there are some people that are like kind of I don't know they'll like judge someone's salvation out

55:47.260 --> 55:50.240
So wanting like well if they cried then I know that they actually got saved

55:50.240 --> 55:54.480
It's like okay, did you really though because sometimes people put on a show, but anyways okay

55:54.480 --> 55:58.380
not to say that some people don't cry when they can say some people do okay, but I'm bringing this up because

55:59.400 --> 56:04.600
Some people when it comes to repentance of your sins, their definition is that you have to be really sorry for your sins.

56:04.600 --> 56:06.800
And this is the verse that they use for it.

56:06.800 --> 56:12.200
Now, I'm going to address this verse proper in a second, but the first thing I want to point out to you about these verses is this.

56:12.200 --> 56:15.000
Is that this is not talking about spiritual salvation.

56:15.000 --> 56:16.800
And there's there is no argument about this.

56:16.800 --> 56:21.900
Okay, because look at what the Bible says in verse number eight of this passage.

56:21.900 --> 56:24.300
And by the way, that's a bold statement, but I will prove this to you.

56:24.300 --> 56:24.700
Be honest.

56:24.700 --> 56:27.340
There's not a question about this.

56:27.400 --> 56:30.400
is that I'll demonstrate it to you from the Bible.

56:30.400 --> 56:33.900
But you need to know the context of this chapter, okay?

56:33.900 --> 56:35.300
And what is the context of 2 Corinthians?

56:35.300 --> 56:37.400
It's this, is that in 1 Corinthians,

56:37.400 --> 56:38.900
there was a man that was committing fornication

56:38.900 --> 56:40.900
with his father's wife at the church.

56:40.900 --> 56:42.000
And Paul says...

56:42.600 --> 56:44.380
get that bozo out of here, okay?

56:44.380 --> 56:45.480
He says, that's in the Greek, okay?

56:45.480 --> 56:46.720
In English, it's like, you know,

56:46.720 --> 56:48.000
to deliver him unto Satan, okay?

56:48.000 --> 56:50.720
But they kick this fornicator in the church,

56:50.720 --> 56:53.640
he's a wicked person, and Paul rebukes him very harshly,

56:53.640 --> 56:55.160
and then he rebukes the rest of the church

56:55.160 --> 56:56.240
very harshly as well, because he's like,

56:56.240 --> 56:58.040
what are you guys doing with this guy in your church?

56:58.040 --> 56:59.120
And he said that they're puffed up,

56:59.120 --> 57:01.560
like, it doesn't tell us exactly how they were puffed up,

57:01.560 --> 57:04.600
but you can only imagine that they're probably like,

57:04.600 --> 57:06.920
look how loving we are, we have this nasty,

57:06.920 --> 57:09.520
disgusting fornicator with his father's wife in our church,

57:09.520 --> 57:10.600
like, look how loving we are.

57:10.600 --> 57:13.440
to not judge this guy and let him come to church with us.

57:13.440 --> 57:15.480
He's like, you're not loving, get him out of the church.

57:15.480 --> 57:17.080
He says, because a little leaven,

57:17.080 --> 57:18.240
leaven it the whole lump.

57:18.240 --> 57:21.080
And when you allow certain types of sin in the church,

57:21.080 --> 57:23.160
like fornication, it corrupts the whole lump,

57:23.160 --> 57:24.000
is what the Bible teaches us.

57:24.000 --> 57:25.200
So you have to get him out.

57:25.200 --> 57:26.700
is what he teaches, okay?

57:26.700 --> 57:28.440
That's what he kinda leads up into this context,

57:28.440 --> 57:30.840
and then right here he begins to explain

57:30.840 --> 57:33.480
his thought process behind writing this original letter,

57:33.480 --> 57:34.640
okay, because look what it says in verse number eight.

57:34.640 --> 57:37.240
It says, for though I made you sorry with a letter,

57:37.240 --> 57:39.640
I do not repent, though I did repent.

57:39.640 --> 57:41.180
For I perceive that the same epistle

57:41.180 --> 57:44.780
have made you sorry, though it were but for a season.

57:44.780 --> 57:47.860
So Paul feels bad, and I can relate to him sometimes.

57:47.860 --> 57:48.960
Sometimes when you're a preacher

57:48.960 --> 57:50.560
and you're ripping on things, it makes you feel bad.

57:50.560 --> 57:53.200
You're like, don't look at me when I'm ripping on you, okay?

57:53.200 --> 57:58.420
Like I don't know like it's like I feel like it's like in our human nature sometimes like you we want to preach against sin

57:58.420 --> 58:01.020
But then like you also love the people in the room with you

58:01.020 --> 58:05.720
So you don't want to you know, and this is probably just not a good feeling all the time

58:05.720 --> 58:08.320
But sometimes just like I don't want to just like make them feel like trash

58:08.320 --> 58:10.420
I mean, this is how Paul feels right here, right?

58:10.420 --> 58:15.500
He says I repented at first he's like but he's like then I didn't repent and he's like why because he's like because he sees

58:15.500 --> 58:20.320
The work that it brought in them, right? So this attitude you have to have when you're preaching but he says in verse number 11

58:20.320 --> 58:21.200
he says

58:21.200 --> 58:23.360
For behold, this self same thing that you saw

58:23.360 --> 58:26.280
after a godly sword, what carefulness it brought in you,

58:26.280 --> 58:27.520
yea, what clearing of yourselves,

58:27.520 --> 58:29.680
yea, what aggrimation, yea, what fear,

58:29.680 --> 58:31.880
yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal,

58:31.880 --> 58:34.380
yea, what revenge and all these things,

58:34.380 --> 58:37.440
you have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.

58:37.440 --> 58:38.380
In what matter?

58:38.380 --> 58:40.040
The matter with the fornicator, that's what he's talking about.

58:40.040 --> 58:41.080
In looking verse 12, he proves that.

58:41.080 --> 58:45.000
He says, wherefore I thought, though I wrote unto you,

58:45.000 --> 58:47.560
I did it not for his cause that had done the wrong,

58:47.560 --> 58:49.200
that's the fornicator, nor for his...

58:49.200 --> 58:54.520
cause that suffered wrong. That's the Father, okay? But that our care for you in the sight

58:54.520 --> 58:59.000
of God might appear unto you. Why am I bringing this all up to you though? Because you might

58:59.000 --> 59:02.900
like, am I just rabbit trailing? I'm not though. I'm bringing this all up to you to show you

59:02.900 --> 59:06.280
that when Paul is preaching this to these people, he's not talking about their salvation

59:06.280 --> 59:10.680
right here. He's talking about their reaction to his rebuke in the first letter that he

59:10.680 --> 59:14.720
wrote them. And he says, because they sorrowed after a godly sword, they didn't just take

59:14.720 --> 59:17.200
if you can be like, oh, Paul is so mean.

59:17.200 --> 59:21.520
Why would he do this to us? Why he could have been nicer with how he delivered this message and said they took us

59:21.520 --> 59:25.000
They're like we are messing up and they get right with God is what he says right here

59:25.000 --> 59:28.480
It says they bring them them revenge and desire and behemoth desire

59:28.480 --> 59:32.880
It says that he brings them zeal and that's because they're sorrowing after a godly sorrow

59:33.080 --> 59:37.680
Which that would be a whole good summer preach on that just there's a difference in sorrows by the way

59:37.680 --> 59:37.920
Okay

59:37.920 --> 59:38.400
a

59:38.400 --> 59:44.240
Godly sorrow is a sorrow that turns it back to God and doesn't make it all about you like you like think with yourself like

59:44.320 --> 59:45.200
I've been away

59:45.200 --> 59:49.600
person and I'm sorry to you God because how this has been affecting you.

59:49.800 --> 59:56.120
A worldly sorrow is just the woe is me attitude. Oh, everything's terrible. I am such a bad person

59:56.400 --> 01:00:00.920
I'm such a terrible person. I'm so wicked. I'm so evil and they just like I don't know how to even extract

01:00:00.920 --> 01:00:06.420
But people use that to like it's like a reverse thing that they do and they like boost themselves up almost to buy degrading

01:00:06.420 --> 01:00:09.840
This I was very weird. Okay, I can't articulate that probably but I'm sure you guys know I'm talking about

01:00:09.840 --> 01:00:14.860
Okay, but anyways, okay. This is what he's talking about is their response to that not about the gospel

01:00:14.860 --> 01:00:17.580
How do we know this because go to first Corinthians like I said?

01:00:17.800 --> 01:00:18.600
This is not debatable.

01:00:18.600 --> 01:00:20.440
This is obvious to prove in the Bible.

01:00:20.440 --> 01:00:23.480
Go to 1 Corinthians 1 verse number two

01:00:23.480 --> 01:00:26.120
that these people did not get saved right here.

01:00:26.120 --> 01:00:28.520
These people are already saved that he's talking to.

01:00:28.520 --> 01:00:31.920
It's demonstrable in multiple assets of 1 Corinthians.

01:00:31.920 --> 01:00:34.680
Look at 1 Corinthians 1 verse number two.

01:00:34.680 --> 01:00:37.560
It says, unto the church of God, which is at Corinth,

01:00:37.560 --> 01:00:40.120
to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus

01:00:40.120 --> 01:00:41.440
called to be saints.

01:00:41.440 --> 01:00:43.480
Look what it says, called to be saints

01:00:43.480 --> 01:00:45.640
with all that in every place.

01:00:45.800 --> 01:00:48.920
upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord both theirs and ours. Now go to 1st

01:00:48.920 --> 01:00:51.960
Corinthians 3 verse number one because that's a little bit broad but he makes

01:00:51.960 --> 01:00:57.600
it more specific. 1st Corinthians 3 verse number one it says, and I brethren

01:00:57.600 --> 01:01:01.600
brethren could not speak unto you as an spiritual but as an incarnal even as unto

01:01:01.600 --> 01:01:05.760
babes in Christ which explains their behavior quite well doesn't it? Why is

01:01:05.760 --> 01:01:07.920
he having to repeat them so harshly because they're acting like babes in

01:01:07.920 --> 01:01:10.400
Christ at this church. They're not operating how they should be as

01:01:10.400 --> 01:01:13.800
mature Christians. Go to chapter number four verse number 15 like I said it's

01:01:13.800 --> 01:01:17.320
multiple verses that shows this. A baby in crisis, someone who's already saved, we understand this,

01:01:17.320 --> 01:01:21.800
he called them brethren as well. Verse number 15, 1 Corinthians 4.15 it says,

01:01:22.600 --> 01:01:28.120
For though you have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you have not many fathers for in Christ Jesus

01:01:28.120 --> 01:01:32.880
I have begotten you through the gospel. What does that mean? It means he got these people say preaching in the gospel

01:01:32.880 --> 01:01:38.440
That's what it means and he calls them he calls them babes in Christ for that reason and obviously with the Bible says called

01:01:38.440 --> 01:01:40.940
No man your father. So that's not what he's trying to say here, but he's saying like that he

01:01:41.740 --> 01:01:47.280
Fathered them in the gospel people. He begat them in the gospel by preaching it to them first Corinthians 6 11 as well

01:01:47.280 --> 01:01:50.380
Okay, this is the last verse I'll show you but I'm just trying to show you that this is obvious

01:01:50.600 --> 01:01:51.680
that these people are already saved.

01:01:51.680 --> 01:01:54.320
Like there's no question about this in this chapter, okay?

01:01:54.320 --> 01:01:56.500
1 Corinthians 6, 11 it says,

01:01:56.500 --> 01:01:59.360
and such were some of you, but ye are washed,

01:01:59.360 --> 01:02:01.640
but you are sanctified, but you're justified

01:02:01.640 --> 01:02:03.940
in the name of Jesus, of the Lord Jesus,

01:02:03.940 --> 01:02:05.360
and by the Spirit of our God.

01:02:05.360 --> 01:02:07.880
I mean, can you argue that these people are not saved?

01:02:07.880 --> 01:02:09.840
They very obviously are saved.

01:02:12.100 --> 01:02:18.100
Where I had you guys at, 1 Corinthians 6 verse number 11, okay, go to 2 Corinthians 7, 10 again, okay?

01:02:18.100 --> 01:02:21.100
Back there, I tried to keep your finger there, but I didn't.

01:02:21.100 --> 01:02:25.100
2 Corinthians 7 verse number 10, okay?

01:02:25.100 --> 01:02:29.000
These people were clearly saved, and to say, because I want you to also think while you're coming back there.

01:02:29.200 --> 01:02:32.800
If you think that these people are getting saved because of what Paul's writing to them,

01:02:32.800 --> 01:02:36.320
and considering the matter of kicking this guy out, that is a workspace salvation.

01:02:36.320 --> 01:02:42.080
That'd be saying that they're saved based on the fact that they kicked this fornicator out

01:02:42.080 --> 01:02:45.680
and that they got right as a church. That's not how salvation works.

01:02:46.240 --> 01:02:49.600
They got on fire for God, it seems like, and praise God for that,

01:02:49.600 --> 01:02:53.280
because they saw after a godly sword and didn't just sulk in themselves,

01:02:53.280 --> 01:02:57.040
but they did not get saved right here, okay? But back there in Synchro Deeds...

01:02:57.200 --> 01:03:00.200
says, for God, the sorrow work of repentance and salvation, not the

01:03:00.200 --> 01:03:03.200
repented of, but the sorrow of the world worketh death. So what does this verse mean

01:03:03.200 --> 01:03:07.200
then? Okay, because I don't want to just like explain away from you. You have two

01:03:07.200 --> 01:03:11.200
options of what this verse can mean. That this is talking about the salvation of

01:03:11.200 --> 01:03:16.200
the church itself, as in like the church coming together itself, or it's talking

01:03:16.200 --> 01:03:21.200
about their physical salvation, okay, again. And you're like, what do you mean?

01:03:21.200 --> 01:03:24.200
That's a stretch. It's really not a stretch though, because think about this.

01:03:24.200 --> 01:03:25.080
in Revelation.

01:03:25.200 --> 01:03:29.960
Doesn't Jesus when he writes the letters of a beauty the churches he tells one of the churches which I'm spacing on the top

01:03:29.960 --> 01:03:33.800
My head is I'm gonna be glad to see it that he says this to me says if they don't repent

01:03:33.800 --> 01:03:38.340
He's gonna remove their candle stand up. What does that mean? He's gonna take their church away not their salvation

01:03:38.340 --> 01:03:39.420
But he's gonna take the church away

01:03:39.420 --> 01:03:41.420
He's like you guys are no longer gonna have a church

01:03:41.820 --> 01:03:45.420
Anymore and so that makes that lines up with what Paul's saying though

01:03:45.420 --> 01:03:49.000
Because again, I was bringing up to you that he says a little leaven leaven at the whole lump

01:03:49.000 --> 01:03:53.160
So what would happen if these people would have just ignored the Apostle Paul and what?

01:03:53.200 --> 01:03:56.880
left this fornicator at the church and stayed puffed up in themselves, it would

01:03:56.880 --> 01:04:00.640
have destroyed their church. So what is the repentance, the salvation there?

01:04:00.640 --> 01:04:04.880
The salvation of the church, not in a spiritual sense, but in like the church

01:04:04.880 --> 01:04:06.900
spiritually as a whole, okay?

01:04:07.200 --> 01:04:10.400
But then you can also say that it's a literal physical salvation.

01:04:10.400 --> 01:04:12.160
And what do I mean by that? Like, is that a stretch either?

01:04:12.160 --> 01:04:15.360
No, because think about who he's writing to right here.

01:04:15.360 --> 01:04:17.120
He's writing to a people that he literally said,

01:04:17.120 --> 01:04:21.840
because they were holding Lord's Supper so badly, there was many of them that slept, right?

01:04:21.840 --> 01:04:23.680
And when he means slept, he didn't mean that they were taking a nap.

01:04:23.680 --> 01:04:26.480
He means that they were dead, okay? That God killed them, okay?

01:04:26.480 --> 01:04:29.040
So either of these definitions work right here, okay?

01:04:29.040 --> 01:04:33.200
That God could have pronounced extreme judgment on them for not obeying Paul in this matter,

01:04:33.200 --> 01:04:35.120
or that the church...

01:04:35.200 --> 01:04:39.440
as a whole would have dissimulated away, would have dissolved away because they

01:04:39.440 --> 01:04:42.640
didn't obey Paul's letter here but this is what we do know that this has nothing

01:04:42.640 --> 01:04:45.480
to do with salvation. The spiritual salvation okay is what I'm talking about

01:04:45.480 --> 01:04:50.680
okay. These people were already saved okay but you guys are still there in 2 Corinthians

01:04:50.680 --> 01:04:54.400
I think. Go to Jude 1 22 okay Jude 1 22

01:04:56.300 --> 01:05:05.060
If I was like, cause I'll like, cause I'm not trying to say that godly sorrow cannot lead to a repentance in terms of real salvation either though.

01:05:05.060 --> 01:05:09.180
It obviously can because godly sorrow is a good thing, right? It's like...

01:05:09.500 --> 01:05:15.700
When you hear the preaching of the gospel, you can have a worldly sorrow or you can have a godly sorrow to it, right?

01:05:15.700 --> 01:05:20.700
You could like hear the gospel and be like, everything I've been taught my whole life is a lie.

01:05:20.700 --> 01:05:24.500
I can't believe this because it's too, you know, it's too harsh or whatever.

01:05:24.500 --> 01:05:27.800
Or you can have a godly sorrow and be like, wow, I cannot believe I've deceived my whole life.

01:05:27.800 --> 01:05:30.100
And then you can believe the gospel instead, right?

01:05:30.100 --> 01:05:33.900
But I'm just saying that the primary context of this is not spiritual salvation.

01:05:33.900 --> 01:05:36.700
I don't know. I don't think you can argue with that, okay?

01:05:36.700 --> 01:05:37.420
but a god

01:05:37.500 --> 01:05:40.140
Godly sorrow can get people saved, okay?

01:05:40.140 --> 01:05:42.300
It can get people saved spiritually, okay?

01:05:42.300 --> 01:05:43.900
But this is what the verse does not say.

01:05:43.900 --> 01:05:46.860
It does not say you have to have a godly sorrow

01:05:46.860 --> 01:05:47.820
to be saved, does it?

01:05:47.820 --> 01:05:48.980
It just says godly sorrow,

01:05:48.980 --> 01:05:50.740
work with repentance to salvation.

01:05:50.740 --> 01:05:54.780
But it didn't say you have to have a godly sorrow.

01:05:54.780 --> 01:05:55.980
It just says that this is a fact

01:05:55.980 --> 01:05:58.020
that this can lead to salvation.

01:05:58.020 --> 01:05:59.700
And it's talking about the physical salvation,

01:05:59.700 --> 01:06:00.580
like I said there,

01:06:00.580 --> 01:06:03.500
but even out-soulening that if people...

01:06:03.800 --> 01:06:07.600
People actually take the gospel and they have a godly sorrow over it

01:06:07.600 --> 01:06:09.700
They can get them saved though when we're preaching to them

01:06:09.920 --> 01:06:13.280
but there's many different ways to react to the gospel and explain to you and

01:06:13.720 --> 01:06:15.200
this is like

01:06:15.500 --> 01:06:17.260
Like, and I want to say this as well, okay?

01:06:17.260 --> 01:06:19.740
Just saying that a godly sorrow will work in repentance and salvation

01:06:19.740 --> 01:06:22.940
does not mean that that's the only way that you can get to salvation, okay?

01:06:22.940 --> 01:06:24.700
What I mean is like this, okay?

01:06:24.700 --> 01:06:28.940
If I tell you, hey, if you go on the keto diet, you'll lose weight.

01:06:28.940 --> 01:06:31.420
Am I saying that the keto diet is the only way to lose weight?

01:06:31.420 --> 01:06:33.100
No, I'm just saying there's one option, right?

01:06:33.100 --> 01:06:37.020
The saying is true right here that even if you take this to be literal salvation,

01:06:37.020 --> 01:06:39.900
godly sorrow is not the only emotion that works salvation, okay?

01:06:39.900 --> 01:06:42.220
Why? Because look what it says in Jude 1-22, that's where I have you guys at.

01:06:42.220 --> 01:06:43.500
It says

01:06:43.500 --> 01:06:46.240
Some have compassion, making a difference,

01:06:46.240 --> 01:06:48.840
and others, saved with fear, point them out of the fire,

01:06:48.840 --> 01:06:50.820
hating even the garments spotted by the flesh.

01:06:50.820 --> 01:06:52.100
We see this all the time, I was warning.

01:06:52.100 --> 01:06:53.640
Some people, when we preach the gospel,

01:06:53.640 --> 01:06:57.020
they react to it, they react to compassion, okay?

01:06:57.020 --> 01:06:58.340
They think of the love of God.

01:06:58.340 --> 01:07:00.460
They think, if God loved me so much,

01:07:00.460 --> 01:07:04.460
you know, if God was willing to send his only begotten son

01:07:04.460 --> 01:07:05.300
to die on the cross for my sins,

01:07:05.300 --> 01:07:06.300
how could I not believe in him?

01:07:06.300 --> 01:07:07.900
That's how some people respond.

01:07:07.900 --> 01:07:09.580
Some people are not very mushy-gushy, though.

01:07:09.580 --> 01:07:11.500
Some people are like, ah.

01:07:11.500 --> 01:07:14.300
you know, love, whatever, but then when you tell them,

01:07:14.300 --> 01:07:15.340
but listen, if you don't believe this,

01:07:15.340 --> 01:07:17.340
you're gonna die and go to hell, it scares them.

01:07:17.340 --> 01:07:19.100
It says, with fear, right?

01:07:19.100 --> 01:07:20.460
It pulls them out of the fire.

01:07:20.460 --> 01:07:22.220
And so, both of those things, I mean,

01:07:22.220 --> 01:07:24.460
compassion you could probably tie to godly sorrow,

01:07:24.460 --> 01:07:26.140
but fear, is that really sorrow?

01:07:26.140 --> 01:07:27.500
It's really not, it's scared.

01:07:27.500 --> 01:07:29.660
And even anecdotally, I'll just say this to you guys, okay?

01:07:29.660 --> 01:07:31.820
Because I got saved when I was six years old,

01:07:31.820 --> 01:07:32.860
I believed on Jesus Christ.

01:07:32.860 --> 01:07:36.300
I don't remember the exact day as far as the date of it,

01:07:36.300 --> 01:07:38.380
but I remember the exact place where I was,

01:07:38.380 --> 01:07:39.420
I remember my dad picked me up,

01:07:39.500 --> 01:07:46.080
gospel, that it was after church, he preached me the gospel, and I understood exactly what

01:07:46.080 --> 01:07:47.080
he was telling me.

01:07:47.080 --> 01:07:50.880
When I was six years old, okay, I knew I was a sinner, I knew I deserved hell, and I wanted

01:07:50.880 --> 01:07:53.000
to get saved, I wanted to believe in Jesus Christ.

01:07:53.000 --> 01:07:57.560
When I got saved though, when I was six, I was not sorrowing and weeping and in sackcloth

01:07:57.560 --> 01:07:59.240
and ashes as a little six year old, okay?

01:07:59.600 --> 01:08:03.800
I wasn't like if I mean also you the thing that saved me when I was always fear of hell

01:08:03.800 --> 01:08:07.640
I did not want to go to hell when I died so I was like how do I get that?

01:08:07.640 --> 01:08:11.000
I gotta believe that's what I'm gonna do that that is this verse in effect

01:08:11.000 --> 01:08:12.840
There was no godly sorrow in effect

01:08:12.840 --> 01:08:15.720
It was just a raw fear and I understood that I was a sinner

01:08:15.720 --> 01:08:21.320
But I mean I'm six years old like am I really gonna be like like like weeping and gnashing my teeth over like the sins that

01:08:21.320 --> 01:08:22.080
I've done when I'm six

01:08:22.080 --> 01:08:26.680
It's like I mean like what have I done when I'm six years old like probably live maybe disobey my parents

01:08:26.680 --> 01:08:27.600
And I'm not saying that those are good

01:08:27.600 --> 01:08:32.360
But like this is not the same as some people's level where like they're you know when they're getting saved

01:08:32.360 --> 01:08:36.440
It's like they have murder in their past or they have like just a really bad past. Okay

01:08:37.200 --> 01:08:38.300
so

01:08:38.500 --> 01:08:42.500
And that should show us again as well, like this is another problem with repentance that

01:08:42.500 --> 01:08:45.020
it like limits children with getting saved.

01:08:45.020 --> 01:08:48.860
That people will like be like, oh well if you're not really really sorry, if you don't

01:08:48.860 --> 01:08:52.260
turn from all your sins, if you don't turn from your big sins, it's like how many sins

01:08:52.260 --> 01:08:54.380
can you really have when you're six years old though?

01:08:54.380 --> 01:08:58.980
You have sin, obviously, I knew I was a sinner, but it's like when I'm believing on Jesus

01:08:58.980 --> 01:09:02.780
Christ, I'm not like, I'm gonna forsake all of my sins, God.

01:09:02.780 --> 01:09:05.300
It's like, I'm six years old.

01:09:05.300 --> 01:09:06.500
Like what, like what, I mean.

01:09:06.500 --> 01:09:09.000
Unless I'm just have a really bad, six years old,

01:09:09.000 --> 01:09:10.500
but it's like, you didn't even become sentient

01:09:10.500 --> 01:09:13.100
until you're five, I feel like, goodnight.

01:09:13.100 --> 01:09:15.920
So, but like, so this doesn't work for children though.

01:09:15.920 --> 01:09:20.380
Like, realistically, think about this as well,

01:09:20.380 --> 01:09:23.600
I committed more sins after I got saved.

01:09:24.100 --> 01:09:27.460
than before I was saved, just by nature of the time that I lived in my house.

01:09:27.460 --> 01:09:31.940
And if I tried to say like, oh I tried to repent of my lying or my disobeying my parents,

01:09:31.940 --> 01:09:34.900
because that would have probably been the two biggest things I had, it's like here's the reality,

01:09:34.900 --> 01:09:38.500
I still lied to my parents as I got saved. I still disobeyed my parents as I got saved.

01:09:38.500 --> 01:09:43.060
I mean can you blame, I was six years old, like you have like another what, like 12 years on top

01:09:43.060 --> 01:09:48.340
of that, that I would have to completely forsake the sin of disobeying. It's not real. It's not

01:09:48.340 --> 01:09:51.940
possible, okay? And there are some people like I'm bringing this up, there's not a strong man.

01:09:52.100 --> 01:09:57.100
There are people that will say that children cannot get saved because they can't show repentance.

01:09:57.100 --> 01:10:02.100
Okay? That I think it was this Brian Denly guy that I saw. It was like children can't actually have true repentance.

01:10:02.100 --> 01:10:06.100
How wicked and how evil is that? Because Jesus Christ says and said,

01:10:06.100 --> 01:10:12.100
There they stand to you, except ye be converted and become as little children ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

01:10:12.100 --> 01:10:17.100
So it sounds like a kid is the perfect candidate for getting to heaven because children are what?

01:10:17.100 --> 01:10:19.900
or what, willing to put their faith in something fully.

01:10:20.100 --> 01:10:23.180
without trying to depend on and trust on anything else.

01:10:23.180 --> 01:10:24.900
That's why he says you have to be like a little child.

01:10:24.900 --> 01:10:26.140
You have to have the faith of a little child

01:10:26.140 --> 01:10:26.980
to get to heaven.

01:10:27.900 --> 01:10:30.860
And that's what I have when I was a kid. I knew God was real

01:10:30.860 --> 01:10:32.660
I believe it with all my heart when I was a kid

01:10:32.660 --> 01:10:35.820
I believe like I like I just like I didn't want to go to hell

01:10:35.820 --> 01:10:37.820
So I'm like I'm gonna believe on Jesus Christ

01:10:37.980 --> 01:10:42.380
But I did not have a God bizarre which is not to say again this this can be good

01:10:42.380 --> 01:10:45.560
But this is this is not a requirement. That's not what second Corinthians says

01:10:45.560 --> 01:10:50.140
That's the reality and it's not in the primary context of the salvation. Anyways, okay first print go to first this little hands one nine

01:10:50.140 --> 01:10:52.140
Okay, this last place I have

01:10:52.900 --> 01:10:54.900
You guys turn beside one other verse.

01:10:54.900 --> 01:10:56.900
First Thessalonians 1, verse number 9.

01:10:56.900 --> 01:10:57.900
The third...

01:10:57.900 --> 01:10:59.900
See how that was pretty slick, okay?

01:10:59.900 --> 01:11:02.900
First Thessalonians 1, verse number 9.

01:11:02.900 --> 01:11:04.900
This is the third objection that people will say this,

01:11:04.900 --> 01:11:06.900
because the first one is they'll say,

01:11:06.900 --> 01:11:07.800
Hey, you know...

01:11:08.000 --> 01:11:11.180
John taught repentance. Hey, we preach repentance too.

01:11:11.180 --> 01:11:17.180
Number two, they'll say godly sorrow. Hey, godly sorrow is a good thing, but it is not required for salvation.

01:11:17.180 --> 01:11:21.020
Someone does not have to be crying in order to really be saved. It is your faith in Jesus Christ.

01:11:21.020 --> 01:11:27.520
Some people do cry, and out slowly we've had a... I mean, I've had dozens of people cry with me when we're preaching the gospel,

01:11:27.520 --> 01:11:32.200
because it's a deep thing. It's a beautiful thing. That all of our sins were paid for by Jesus Christ.

01:11:32.200 --> 01:11:35.900
It's beautiful. It moves people so often. But...

01:11:36.000 --> 01:11:43.480
Different people are made differently. Okay, and some people are just super stoic and you don't want to judge someone's getting saved on how they react

01:11:43.480 --> 01:11:45.280
To you when you're out the door. It's not a good idea

01:11:45.280 --> 01:11:49.380
It's not a righteous judgment because there's some people like especially like the Native Americans

01:11:49.380 --> 01:11:55.200
They're just a very stoic people like you look at them and you're preaching something. You're like you believe that yeah

01:11:56.080 --> 01:12:00.360
Okay, and then you get to the end and then they like they really believe it they brand it and they're like

01:12:00.480 --> 01:12:02.600
Thank you so much for showing me that it's just like

01:12:03.400 --> 01:12:09.000
people react differently. That's the fact that people react differently is a fact because of what we saw in Jude.

01:12:09.000 --> 01:12:12.840
And he says some say with compassion, some say with fear. So these things are both,

01:12:13.640 --> 01:12:17.640
it's just different matters of perspective is what I'd say. Okay. So first Thessalonians 1,9,

01:12:17.640 --> 01:12:23.240
this is another rejection that people make to our claims. Okay. It says, for they themselves show

01:12:23.240 --> 01:12:29.640
of us what manner of entering in we had unto you and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the

01:12:29.640 --> 01:12:31.400
living and true.

01:12:31.400 --> 01:12:37.480
God the reason I'm showing you this verse is because of that phrase where it says the turn from idols to serve the living and

01:12:37.480 --> 01:12:39.480
true God because some kind of like

01:12:39.480 --> 01:12:41.800
This is a really weasely argument in my opinion, okay

01:12:41.800 --> 01:12:46.460
Maybe people have good intentions on that when they say this but when when I've talked about this before they'll tell me like

01:12:46.600 --> 01:12:49.160
No, no, because think about this. They'll be like is

01:12:50.640 --> 01:12:52.640
Worshipping idols of sin you go

01:12:53.200 --> 01:12:56.920
Yes, this is sin. Okay, and they'll be like well if you believe on Jesus Christ

01:12:56.920 --> 01:13:02.920
Can you also believe in idols and the answer is obviously no and they'll be like so you do have to repent your sin

01:13:02.920 --> 01:13:09.400
Oh, you see right there or they'll do it with belief to in Revelation 21 8 that it says but the fearful and the unbelieving

01:13:09.400 --> 01:13:15.400
And they'll be like is unbelief a sin. Yes, so can you be both unbelieving and believing in Jesus Christ?

01:13:15.400 --> 01:13:19.560
No, well, then that's another thing is our kind of I got you right there again, but here's the problem with this. Okay

01:13:20.500 --> 01:13:22.500
The problem is, is that...

01:13:22.900 --> 01:13:28.200
If you're trying to use that definition, okay, I could level with a person to some degree on these things

01:13:28.200 --> 01:13:28.740
Okay

01:13:28.740 --> 01:13:34.220
But it's dishonest because what they do with that is they use it like a trojan horse to then add a bunch of other sins

01:13:34.220 --> 01:13:37.380
On top of these things and that's garbage. Okay, because here's the difference in these things

01:13:37.380 --> 01:13:43.980
Okay, you cannot believe that Jesus is the one true God while also believing in Allah that those things are contrary to each other

01:13:44.460 --> 01:13:50.780
Yeah, but and you can't believe that Jesus Christ the one true God if you're serving idols in many multitudes of God, but can you?

01:13:50.900 --> 01:13:56.400
believe on Jesus Christ and still be a liar? Yes you can. So these things are not comparable.

01:13:56.400 --> 01:14:00.060
One of these things, like it's a byproduct, a natural byproduct that in order to believe

01:14:00.060 --> 01:14:05.620
on Jesus Christ, you have to turn from whatever you're trusting in before Jesus Christ. But

01:14:05.620 --> 01:14:08.580
in order to trust on Jesus Christ, you don't have to stop being a liar though. These things

01:14:08.580 --> 01:14:12.500
are not comparable. So if you try to use this definition like, well that's where penance

01:14:12.500 --> 01:14:17.460
ends, okay. Again, I don't like that because I think it makes things confusing about salvation.

01:14:17.460 --> 01:14:18.900
It slips in the door with

01:14:18.900 --> 01:14:24.700
people where they'll be like, where Ray Comfort, like he will say what people like, well, when

01:14:24.700 --> 01:14:26.940
he asked me if they believe, he's like, what are you living in holiness?

01:14:27.200 --> 01:14:31.040
It's like what? He's like yeah, because the Bible says if you don't have holiness, you're not gonna see God.

01:14:31.040 --> 01:14:34.880
And he takes that to mean that if you're not living a good life, then you didn't really believe.

01:14:34.880 --> 01:14:37.520
And what does that do to people? It just confuses them.

01:14:37.520 --> 01:14:40.720
It makes them just like wonder like, because we're telling people the gospel of Jesus Christ,

01:14:40.720 --> 01:14:42.640
that you have to believe on Jesus Christ to be saved.

01:14:42.640 --> 01:14:45.600
And then people slip in so many of these confusing phrases like,

01:14:45.600 --> 01:14:47.600
did you really feel sorry when you got saved?

01:14:47.600 --> 01:14:49.840
Did you really turn from all your sins to be when you got saved?

01:14:49.840 --> 01:14:52.560
Did you really turn from all your big sins when you got saved?

01:14:52.560 --> 01:14:55.040
It's like why add all that in when the Bible says it's the-

01:14:55.200 --> 01:14:59.660
Gospel that saves us it is your belief on Jesus Christ that saves you these are

01:14:59.660 --> 01:15:03.380
what the Bible is teaching and all these passages that I've showed you and

01:15:03.380 --> 01:15:08.380
you do have to repent you have to change your mind you cannot trust in Allah and

01:15:08.380 --> 01:15:12.240
in Jesus Christ you can't trust in Buddha and trust in Jesus Christ you

01:15:12.240 --> 01:15:16.000
can't trust that there's nothing and believe in Jesus Christ obviously right

01:15:16.100 --> 01:15:20.100
You have to turn from whatever you believe in before and believe on Jesus Christ.

01:15:20.100 --> 01:15:25.100
So this is the salvation. You're moving whatever your faith is in before to being on Jesus Christ.

01:15:25.100 --> 01:15:29.100
But it's still faith. So then it's not of works.

01:15:29.100 --> 01:15:35.000
Because that is the biggest problem with repenting of your sins is that Jonah said that turning from your evil ways will work.

01:15:35.300 --> 01:15:40.300
So if it's turning from your evil ways of work, then it cannot be attached to salvation.

01:15:40.300 --> 01:15:41.300
Okay?

01:15:41.300 --> 01:15:43.300
So in summary for these things, okay?

01:15:43.300 --> 01:15:45.300
Repent, the word repent means to change your mind.

01:15:45.300 --> 01:15:47.300
It means to turn from something.

01:15:47.300 --> 01:15:50.300
God repents the most out of anybody in the Bible.

01:15:50.300 --> 01:15:53.300
God repents in the story that we saw with Jonah.

01:15:53.300 --> 01:15:58.300
But this is okay because it just means to change your mind, to turn from something.

01:15:58.300 --> 01:16:01.300
Whatever that something is, is dictated by the context, okay?

01:16:01.300 --> 01:16:03.300
And in the context of the gospel

01:16:03.300 --> 01:16:07.560
It's turning from whatever you believe before to believing on Jesus Christ

01:16:08.500 --> 01:16:11.100
And you have to repent to be saved.

01:16:11.100 --> 01:16:12.340
There's no question.

01:16:12.340 --> 01:16:13.300
But this is the reality.

01:16:13.300 --> 01:16:14.580
You don't have to repent if you're going to be saved.

01:16:14.580 --> 01:16:16.180
You have to understand you're a sinner to be saved.

01:16:16.180 --> 01:16:16.780
That's a fact.

01:16:16.780 --> 01:16:18.100
Nobody would argue with that.

01:16:18.100 --> 01:16:20.700
You have to, you cannot trust in anything else

01:16:20.700 --> 01:16:21.820
besides Jesus Christ and be saved.

01:16:21.820 --> 01:16:22.980
You have to trust in Jesus.

01:16:22.980 --> 01:16:24.780
Even your own works is the same way.

01:16:24.780 --> 01:16:26.460
Man, I should have had you guys go to there.

01:16:26.460 --> 01:16:27.180
Where is this even at?

01:16:27.180 --> 01:16:28.020
Hebrews 6?

01:16:28.020 --> 01:16:28.860
Go there real quick, okay?

01:16:28.860 --> 01:16:30.220
I'm sorry.

01:16:30.220 --> 01:16:31.540
Well, I guess I told you one more place

01:16:31.540 --> 01:16:33.140
I didn't have you turn to it, so this is the make-up.

01:16:33.140 --> 01:16:34.740
Okay, go to Hebrews 6, okay?

01:16:35.700 --> 01:16:38.300
I want you to see something about the works as well, okay?

01:16:39.200 --> 01:16:43.840
Because this is what's ironic people be like you have to repent of your sins and like add all these good works

01:16:43.840 --> 01:16:47.680
But like he's like he tells us in hebrew 6 that you have to repent of your dead works

01:16:48.400 --> 01:16:51.040
And we're gonna see this right here. This says it says therefore

01:16:51.520 --> 01:16:54.320
Leaving the principles of the doctor of christ let us go out of perfection

01:16:54.720 --> 01:17:00.320
Not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith towards god

01:17:00.640 --> 01:17:01.920
What is he saying there?

01:17:01.920 --> 01:17:06.480
You cannot trust in your own good works if you do heaven and this is the problem that we meet with so many people out the door

01:17:06.800 --> 01:17:07.200
they

01:17:07.200 --> 01:17:10.280
we ask them how do you get to heaven they say well I'm a good person well I

01:17:10.280 --> 01:17:14.720
you know give money to the poor well I'm really nice or sometimes I've heard

01:17:14.720 --> 01:17:19.640
really bizarre ones like well I serve in the military so I know I'm going to heaven okay I'm a teacher at

01:17:19.640 --> 01:17:22.800
school so I know I'm going to heaven I missed that in the Bible maybe it's maybe

01:17:22.800 --> 01:17:27.200
somewhere okay but these are all works this is all boasting in yourself that's

01:17:27.200 --> 01:17:31.840
what you understand why had you turn this verse because you cannot trust in

01:17:31.840 --> 01:17:33.200
anything

01:17:33.300 --> 01:17:35.540
and trust in Jesus Christ at the same time.

01:17:35.540 --> 01:17:36.980
Salvation is a full trust in Jesus.

01:17:36.980 --> 01:17:37.700
That's why he told me what,

01:17:37.700 --> 01:17:39.620
like brother Ryan just used that analogy yesterday as well.

01:17:39.620 --> 01:17:43.380
He's like, if you believe 99% in Jesus for your salvation,

01:17:43.380 --> 01:17:46.340
but then 1% in yourself, do you trust fully in Jesus?

01:17:46.340 --> 01:17:46.980
No, you don't.

01:17:46.980 --> 01:17:49.540
And so you're not saved, is what the Bible teaches us.

01:17:49.540 --> 01:17:52.580
And we only need a grain of mustard seed of faith to be saved,

01:17:52.580 --> 01:17:54.660
but all of that mustard seed has to be in Jesus Christ.

01:17:54.660 --> 01:17:56.020
That's what we need to understand.

01:17:56.400 --> 01:17:59.840
And then the last thing is that salvation is by grace through faith.

01:17:59.840 --> 01:18:01.680
It's not of works, lest any man should boast.

01:18:01.680 --> 01:18:07.120
And repenting is a work turning from your evil way is a work so it can't be attached to salvation.

01:18:07.120 --> 01:18:09.440
So hopefully you guys learned something from this sermon. Hopefully it was edifying.

01:18:09.440 --> 01:18:13.360
And next week, like I said, I'm going to touch on the aspects of God repenting in the Bible

01:18:13.360 --> 01:18:14.640
and what exactly that means. Let's pray.

01:18:14.640 --> 01:18:17.600
Do it for the God. Thank you so much for everything you do for us, God.

01:18:17.600 --> 01:18:20.800
Thank you so much for your word, God. Thank you so much, God, that there's...

01:18:21.000 --> 01:18:25.000
So many different passages of scripture that we can compare to find the truth about matters.

01:18:25.000 --> 01:18:29.000
God, I just pray that you'd help us, God, as a church to have correct doctrine for you, God,

01:18:29.000 --> 01:18:34.000
and to believe on you truly, God, and to focus on serving you with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, God.

01:18:34.000 --> 01:18:39.000
I just pray that we would never use the grace that you've given us as just a license to send, God.

01:18:39.000 --> 01:18:43.000
I just pray that you'd use it, help us to use it to be a motivation to serve you, God,

01:18:43.000 --> 01:18:47.000
and to think of how blessed we are and how wonderful it is that you set us free from sin.

01:18:47.000 --> 01:18:49.000
So how dare we go back and live and...

01:18:49.000 --> 01:18:52.440
in all the past sins that we've tried to get out of our life.

01:18:52.440 --> 01:18:55.000
God, I just pray that you'd help us to overcome the things that we struggle with

01:18:55.000 --> 01:18:58.840
and that we could present ourselves as perfect as humanly possible to you

01:18:58.840 --> 01:18:59.880
before you're coming.

01:18:59.880 --> 01:19:01.000
I just need to pray, amen.

01:19:01.000 --> 01:19:02.000
Amen.

01:19:02.000 --> 01:19:04.000
Last time we saw number 197.

01:19:13.300 --> 01:19:20.340
Song number 197, Singing I Go, song 197.

01:19:24.900 --> 01:19:26.900
Sing it together on the first.

01:19:26.900 --> 01:19:31.100
The trusting heart to Jesus sings,

01:19:31.100 --> 01:19:35.100
nor any ill forbodes.

01:19:35.100 --> 01:19:39.300
But at the cross of Calvary sings,

01:19:39.300 --> 01:19:43.400
praise God for lifted loads.

01:19:43.400 --> 01:19:47.600
Singing I go along life's road,

01:19:47.600 --> 01:19:51.500
praising the Lord, praising the Lord.

01:19:51.500 --> 01:19:52.900
Singing I go...

01:19:52.900 --> 01:19:59.260
Oh, a long life's road, for Jesus has lifted my load.

01:19:59.260 --> 01:20:03.300
The passing days bring many cares.

01:20:03.300 --> 01:20:07.220
Fear not, I hear him say.

01:20:07.220 --> 01:20:11.180
And when my fears and turn to prayers,

01:20:11.180 --> 01:20:15.220
the burdens slip away.

01:20:15.220 --> 01:20:16.780
Singing I go.

01:20:18.400 --> 01:20:27.280
road, praising the Lord, praising the Lord, singing I go along life's road for

01:20:27.280 --> 01:20:38.000
Jesus has lifted my load. He tells me of my Father's love and never slumbering I,

01:20:38.000 --> 01:20:46.100
my everlasting King above, will all my needs supply.

01:20:51.000 --> 01:20:52.560
Praising the Lord!

01:20:58.700 --> 01:21:02.700
For Jesus has lifted my load

01:21:02.700 --> 01:21:06.700
When to the throne of grace I flee

01:21:06.700 --> 01:21:10.700
I find the promise true

01:21:10.700 --> 01:21:14.700
The mighty arms upholding me

01:21:14.700 --> 01:21:18.700
Will bear my burdens too

01:21:18.700 --> 01:21:20.700
Singing I go on

01:21:21.400 --> 01:21:28.400
I go along this road, for Jesus has lifted my load.

01:21:28.400 --> 01:21:29.400
Amen.

01:21:29.400 --> 01:21:30.400
Good to see you, Brother Ryan.

01:21:30.400 --> 01:21:31.400
Would you close the door to prayer?

01:21:31.400 --> 01:21:32.400
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you God for this church, Lord, and thank you God that you made

01:21:32.400 --> 01:21:33.400
salvation so easy and so simple.

01:21:33.400 --> 01:21:34.400
Amen.

01:21:34.400 --> 01:21:35.400
Amen.

01:21:35.400 --> 01:21:36.400
Amen.

01:21:36.400 --> 01:21:37.400
Amen.

01:21:37.400 --> 01:21:38.400
Amen.

01:21:38.400 --> 01:21:39.400
Amen.

01:21:39.400 --> 01:21:40.400
Amen.

01:21:40.400 --> 01:21:41.400
Amen.

01:21:41.400 --> 01:21:42.400
Amen.

01:21:42.400 --> 01:21:43.400
Amen.

01:21:43.400 --> 01:21:44.400
Amen.

01:21:44.400 --> 01:21:44.500
Amen.

01:21:45.400 --> 01:21:44.500
Amen.

01:21:46.400 --> 01:21:44.500
Amen.

01:21:47.400 --> 01:21:44.500
Amen.

01:21:48.400 --> 01:21:44.500
Amen.

01:21:49.400 --> 01:21:44.500
Amen.

01:21:44.900 --> 01:21:47.400
that all we have to do is put our whole trust

01:21:47.400 --> 01:21:50.320
on Jesus Christ, Lord, and I pray God

01:21:50.320 --> 01:21:53.320
that you'll bless the fellowship in the soul today

01:21:53.320 --> 01:21:54.640
in Jesus' name, amen.

01:21:54.640 --> 01:21:55.480
Amen.

01:21:55.480 --> 01:21:56.300
Amen.
