But over the last couple 26:57.780 --> 27:02.180 years, you know, our church has come together, we've grown, we've been in some battles as far as, 27:02.180 --> 27:08.260 like, we're soul winning more, we're growing, we're leading families in the fear not munition 27:08.260 --> 27:14.420 of the Lord. And then even in our friends groups, you know, there's a lot of activity going on as 27:14.420 --> 27:15.540 as far as like. 27:15.600 --> 27:20.960 the work for the Lord and the opposition seems to be either. 27:21.100 --> 27:27.860 really annoyed with that and they're fighting and what I want to leave you with today is that what are them fighting words from both 27:27.860 --> 27:29.620 sides of the aisle, right? 27:29.620 --> 27:37.000 If you look at this, here's an interesting thing like in Ephesians 6, you could make the argument that this is a battle 27:38.660 --> 27:40.860 chapter, right? I mean, it's literally talking about 27:41.260 --> 27:48.980 wrestling and putting on the whole armor of God and I've actually preached the sermon on Ephesians 6 on the first 12 verses 27:49.100 --> 27:50.540 because it's interesting that a lot of people 27:50.540 --> 27:52.060 like to focus on the fact that, 27:52.060 --> 27:54.160 hey, we gotta put on the whole armor of God, 27:54.160 --> 27:56.080 we wrestle not against flesh and blood, 27:56.080 --> 27:58.920 but then they never really set up the stage 27:58.920 --> 28:00.160 with the first 12 verses. 28:00.160 --> 28:02.640 And if you look, the first four verses 28:02.640 --> 28:05.080 are dealing with the family structure. 28:05.080 --> 28:08.800 It says, children, obey your parents in the Lord, 28:08.800 --> 28:10.000 for this is right. 28:10.100 --> 28:16.100 Honor thy father and mother which is the first commandment with promise that it may be well with thee and that thou may has lived 28:16.100 --> 28:21.060 Long on the earth so God's giving you a promise children. Hey honor your father and your mother 28:21.740 --> 28:26.900 And then say honor your father your mother if they're good fathers and mothers honor your father your mother 28:26.900 --> 28:29.080 They're perfect. He just says honor them, right? 28:29.600 --> 28:31.600 And then, you know, people love to then, 28:31.600 --> 28:34.400 the people that are anti the Bible, 28:34.400 --> 28:35.680 and that are anti-authority, 28:35.680 --> 28:36.900 will just take you to verse four and say, 28:36.900 --> 28:38.900 oh yeah, but it says that you fathers, 28:38.900 --> 28:40.820 provoke not your children to wrath, 28:40.820 --> 28:43.320 but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. 28:43.320 --> 28:45.240 Well, anger and wrath are two different things. 28:45.240 --> 28:46.700 The Bible makes that very clear. 28:46.700 --> 28:49.580 So the Bible says that the wrath will be poured out 28:49.580 --> 28:50.540 in the end times, 28:50.540 --> 28:52.960 but before that we're going to have some tribulation 28:52.960 --> 28:54.340 because the Lord's angry. 28:54.340 --> 28:56.160 But we won't be here for the wrath of God. 28:56.160 --> 28:57.600 So it's definitely worse. 28:57.600 --> 29:01.040 Then when God's just angry at you when he's pointing out his wrath is different 29:01.040 --> 29:06.780 So, you know getting your child angry at you because you actually discipline him. It's not the same as provoking him to wrath 29:07.320 --> 29:13.680 Right, and if you also look the ratio is what three verses to one, but then if we even go deeper than that 29:14.400 --> 29:20.120 If we go all the way to the ninth verse, verses one through nine, what are these verses dealing 29:20.120 --> 29:21.120 with? 29:21.120 --> 29:26.040 Submission and authority to your authority structure, not only in the home and in the 29:26.040 --> 29:29.440 church, but even in work and in life. 29:29.440 --> 29:30.440 Who do you need to obey? 29:30.440 --> 29:35.720 It says, servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to flesh with fear 29:35.720 --> 29:36.720 and trembling. 29:37.400 --> 29:42.840 in singleness of heart as unto Christ. How many people actually fear and tremble at their bosses 29:42.840 --> 29:48.920 today? At their parents? You know, at their authority structure they don't. You know, 29:48.920 --> 29:55.000 when Elijah was coming into any town people were like, hey are you are you coming in peace? 29:55.800 --> 30:01.000 Right? Like they wanted to know if he was like in good terms because they knew that he was coming down to lay down the hammer. 30:01.000 --> 30:04.800 But not today. Everybody wants to just be at the same level and it's not like that. 30:04.800 --> 30:09.600 You know, when I was growing up, my parents always made sure that we talked to our elders with respect. 30:09.600 --> 30:16.400 And the one thing that was always constant whenever we would mess up is, hey, you're not their equal. 30:16.400 --> 30:21.000 We are not equals. You know, that and it was kind of drilled in my mom. 30:21.000 --> 30:22.900 anytime that I messed up she's like hey 30:23.000 --> 30:24.760 You are not their equal. 30:24.760 --> 30:26.560 I was like, oh yeah, yes ma'am. 30:26.560 --> 30:27.840 No, you're not their equal. 30:27.840 --> 30:32.000 Just like a constant reminder that you're not their equal. 30:32.000 --> 30:32.500 Right? 30:32.500 --> 30:34.240 And then the other thing we also see here 30:34.240 --> 30:37.480 is that the leadership also has to have the right attitude. 30:37.480 --> 30:39.240 And so when you're looking at all of this, 30:39.240 --> 30:41.640 we need to have the right attitude about what 30:41.640 --> 30:42.600 we're fighting for. 30:42.600 --> 30:44.200 And so what I want to really focus on 30:44.200 --> 30:46.200 is that verse, the very famous verse in verse 12. 30:46.200 --> 30:48.040 It says, for we wrestle not. 30:48.500 --> 30:55.340 Against flesh and blood but against principalities against powers against rulers of the darkness of this world against spiritual 30:55.820 --> 30:57.740 wickedness in high places 30:57.740 --> 31:02.660 And the reality is that we are in a battle the Bible says for we wrestle not that means though 31:02.660 --> 31:08.560 We're not wrestling against this one specific thing give an indication that we do wrestle against this other thing, right? 31:08.560 --> 31:13.020 It says for we're still not against flesh and blood but against all these other things 31:13.400 --> 31:17.640 So for us, the fighting words are the reason that we pick these fights 31:17.640 --> 31:19.800 is because we want to get the gospel across. 31:20.200 --> 31:25.740 Obviously, we're never going to do we're never going to take it on physically unless we're in a situation where it's self-defense 31:25.740 --> 31:30.520 And that's far and few between you know maybe that'll change in the future as the world grows 31:30.760 --> 31:34.080 You know while there. I don't know if you've seen there's this uptick lately 31:34.360 --> 31:38.560 It used to be that only school shootings and shootings of the sort were here in the u.s. 31:38.680 --> 31:44.700 And everybody kind of poo-pooed on the u.s. That oh you know we have too many guns and there's school shootings everywhere 31:44.960 --> 31:47.880 There's been 200 you know there's always some statistics 31:48.300 --> 31:50.940 But lately there's been shootings outside of the US. 31:50.940 --> 31:55.260 Who saw the one about that kid in Thailand or something like that, just like yesterday, 31:55.260 --> 31:57.980 where he walked in and he was just like shooting up the place. 31:57.980 --> 32:00.300 I thought they weren't allowed to get guns in those places either. 32:00.300 --> 32:04.700 So you know, this is going to the world, the Bible says that the love of men will wax 32:05.500 --> 32:06.380 colder, right? 32:06.380 --> 32:11.020 That as the end times comes near, people are going to get meaner and colder. 32:11.020 --> 32:13.900 And so it's our duty to get more loving. 32:13.900 --> 32:16.220 And the only way to get more loving is to just get in the 32:16.300 --> 32:18.780 battle for the souls of men and women. 32:18.780 --> 32:22.660 And this is what it all really comes down to, but before we go there, think about it. 32:22.660 --> 32:25.340 After all of this, he gives the whole armor of God. 32:25.340 --> 32:27.660 We get down to verse 19. 32:27.660 --> 32:29.260 What is them fighting work? 32:29.260 --> 32:31.820 What is this all about? 32:31.820 --> 32:34.780 Because you could make the argument that Paul talked about a lot of subjects. 32:34.780 --> 32:37.060 I mean, he talked about authority. 32:37.060 --> 32:40.420 He talked about wives, submit yourselves into your husbands. 32:40.420 --> 32:41.420 Husbands love your wives. 32:41.420 --> 32:43.420 You know, he's talking about the... 32:44.200 --> 32:48.760 the qualifications of a bishop and deacons. I mean he's given us a lot in 32:48.760 --> 32:52.840 the New Testament, but in verse 19 this great chapter 32:52.840 --> 32:56.920 on putting on the whole armor of God he says, and for me he's saying, hey pray for 32:56.920 --> 33:00.280 me, Paul. And he says let me give you the main 33:00.280 --> 33:02.700 reason to pray for me in this battle. 33:03.100 --> 33:09.500 And he says, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make 33:09.500 --> 33:11.660 known the mystery of the gospel. 33:11.660 --> 33:17.060 He says, hey, if you were to draw all the things that I do, everything into one single 33:17.060 --> 33:19.320 thing, it's the gospel. 33:19.320 --> 33:20.320 And it's not only the gospel. 33:20.320 --> 33:25.260 I want you to pray for me that I would be bold in uttering the words of the Lord Jesus 33:25.260 --> 33:25.760 Christ. 33:26.300 --> 33:29.340 And you know what? Anytime that we do that, that's what it comes down to. 33:29.340 --> 33:32.460 And I'm giving you the main point of the whole sermon. I'll give you some points. 33:32.460 --> 33:36.700 But the main point is that the gospel, all we need to do is preach the gospel. 33:36.700 --> 33:38.700 And those are them fighting words. 33:39.100 --> 33:44.380 The reason that there's opposition, the reason that people are going after, you know, Pastor 33:44.380 --> 33:49.180 Anderson, the reason that people are going after us, the reason that they make fun of us. I mean, 33:49.180 --> 33:53.340 my wife finds stuff online about, you know, people making fun of me or stuff like that. 33:53.340 --> 33:57.660 You know, I think there was some AI image of me with a pacifier or something like that. 33:57.660 --> 34:00.620 You know, why do they do that? Because we're preaching the gospel. 34:01.200 --> 34:03.200 It has nothing to do with all the other topics. 34:03.200 --> 34:06.720 You know, if you peel away all the other things that they're fighting about, 34:06.720 --> 34:11.040 really what they're against is the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, right? 34:11.040 --> 34:13.360 They're against winning souls to Christ. 34:14.100 --> 34:17.900 They can paint it, they can decorate it however they want, 34:17.900 --> 34:21.500 you know, they can try to sympathize with the weak and the feeble-minded. 34:21.500 --> 34:25.500 The Bible actually instructs us to strengthen them, right, to be there for them. 34:25.500 --> 34:27.400 But at the end of the day, how do we do that? 34:27.400 --> 34:29.700 With the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. 34:30.000 --> 34:36.160 You know, I was, the term came to me and I kind of had to put this idea together in my 34:36.160 --> 34:41.520 mind. I just thought this would be an interesting kind of interjection of 35:06.540 --> 35:11.820 history. So we got children who are homeschooled. Now, currently preaching the gospel is not that, 35:44.340 --> 35:50.100 but one day it will be that the powers that be will stop the preaching of the gospel 35:50.900 --> 35:55.300 or will make an attempt that will never stop, and those will be the fighting words. 35:56.200 --> 36:00.320 So it's an idea, these are the uses that it's usually used in. 36:00.320 --> 36:04.680 A play for serious warning that an argument has crossed the line into a potential fight. 36:04.680 --> 36:09.000 In law, it's a specific abusive language directed at a person that triggers immediate physical 36:09.000 --> 36:09.880 retaliation. 36:10.200 --> 36:16.920 which governments can legally restrict. And then it's tone, a phrase uses old, non-standard grammar, 36:16.920 --> 36:23.080 them instead of those are to sound rustic or southern. And it would be okay for us to use it 36:23.080 --> 36:27.240 as a title of sermon because we are in Texas. And even though technically we were never part of the 36:27.240 --> 36:32.440 South, we are in the South of the United States. Like if you were doing something lewd and obscene, something profane, something slanderous, 39:04.180 --> 39:11.860 the enemies of Christ act like we're the ones running around nude in a, you know, queer pride parade, just, you know... 39:12.500 --> 39:17.060 you know, just defaming and messing up children's minds all over the place. 39:17.060 --> 39:20.020 Well, when we say it, it's almost like we're the bad guys. 39:20.020 --> 39:24.340 You know, the world's so upside down that when we say things, it's like, whoa, that's really 39:24.980 --> 39:29.940 insulting. We need to just take these people out. But then if like some queer goes around and does 39:29.940 --> 39:34.660 that, it's like, well, you know, everybody has the right to just be disgusting, you know, and do that 39:34.660 --> 39:38.740 stuff. So I just think it's really interesting. That's why we have men. 41:59.800 --> 42:03.800 I'll talk to the men whenever we're going to have an event or somebody that's more... 42:03.800 --> 42:06.800 If Pastor Anderson's coming, people just don't like him. 42:06.800 --> 42:11.800 This is just the way it goes. I like him. He's a really nice guy. We're not Republicans where we just like all the moral issues of the Bible, but we hate the gospel. 43:04.780 --> 43:06.140 Like, we're not going to get up here. 43:06.140 --> 43:08.620 Like, I'm pro-life. 43:08.620 --> 43:11.580 But you know what I'm going to preach first? Those are just the manifestations of a much deeper 44:07.660 --> 44:08.940 spiritual war, in my opinion. 44:10.200 --> 44:11.480 And you know what? 44:11.480 --> 44:15.120 The devil is really happy if you just get off on those tangents. 44:15.120 --> 44:19.920 Now here's the thing, that doesn't mean we're not going to preach on them because the reality 44:19.920 --> 44:24.560 is, and I heard it best said at the anti-Israel conference, by Pastor Anderson actually, 44:24.560 --> 44:29.120 why do we touch on all those subjects that are culturally relevant? 44:29.120 --> 44:33.440 Because nobody for the most part, if you were to take a room of a hundred people, 44:34.100 --> 44:38.740 You'd have like maybe, I don't even think 10% of the people are like, how do I get saved? 44:38.740 --> 44:42.740 Right? In my life of soul winning, I actually have one example. 44:42.740 --> 44:45.140 In my life of soul winning, I've had maybe two examples. 44:45.140 --> 44:48.420 One of them happened this week where someone's like, how do I get saved? 44:49.400 --> 44:50.400 Right? 44:50.400 --> 44:53.080 Acts 16-31 is actually a rare occurrence. 44:53.080 --> 44:54.600 That's why it's only once in the Bible. 44:54.600 --> 44:57.380 It's like, sirs, what must I do to get saved? 44:57.380 --> 44:59.480 You don't find that all over the Bible. 44:59.480 --> 45:02.480 You find it in one specific passage in the book of Acts. 45:03.400 --> 45:08.560 But what you do find is people dealing with other issues in the gospels, Jesus is dealing 45:08.560 --> 45:13.200 with people who are sick, who are possessed with devils, who are dealing with other stuff 45:13.200 --> 45:16.140 and he says, hey, be healed, go sin no more. 45:16.140 --> 45:20.720 They're dealing with adultery and fornication and have husbands and all of these are the 45:20.720 --> 45:24.240 issues that are really just leading to the heart of the issue, which is they're either 45:24.240 --> 45:25.760 lost or they're saved. 45:26.300 --> 45:29.500 Right? So we do preach on them, but that's not the battle. 45:29.500 --> 45:33.020 Like what I'm trying to say is when we're taking on those issues, 45:33.020 --> 45:35.500 we always bring it back to the main focus. 45:36.140 --> 45:38.220 Right?
