Amen 03:41.500 --> 03:42.400 Amen 03:42.600 --> 03:48.520 Okay, we're in Genesis chapter 18 this morning and the time of our sermon today is saving a nation 03:49.160 --> 03:55.900 Saving a nation we started off in genesis chapter 18 because this is the famous passage where abraham is interceding 03:56.680 --> 03:59.880 For sodom and for gamora specifically for sodom 04:00.280 --> 04:04.440 Uh because of the fact that god is going to judge it now. We obviously know because of genesis 19 04:04.840 --> 04:08.760 That god ends up smoking the queers, right? That's what we see in genesis 19 04:09.320 --> 04:10.600 But what we see is 04:10.600 --> 04:17.640 In Genesis 18 is Abraham the patriarch making intercessions not for the godless, not for 04:17.640 --> 04:20.160 the wicked, not for that which is abominable. 04:20.160 --> 04:23.200 He's actually interceding for the righteous, right? 04:23.200 --> 04:26.520 And he's specifically saying, hey, are you going to spare it if there's this many righteous 04:26.520 --> 04:27.160 people there? 04:27.600 --> 04:30.160 Of course, God says, of course, you know, he'll spare it. 04:30.160 --> 04:31.360 He goes down to 10. 04:31.360 --> 04:34.720 And obviously, there wasn't even 10 righteous people there. 04:34.720 --> 04:36.640 There was maybe five. 04:36.640 --> 04:39.000 We know that Lot was a just man. 04:39.000 --> 04:40.880 He was a righteous man because he was saved. 04:40.880 --> 04:43.360 And then God ends up destroying Sodom and Gomorrah, 04:43.360 --> 04:44.520 and rightfully so. 04:44.520 --> 04:45.760 Now hold your place there. 04:45.760 --> 04:47.280 We're going to come back to that in just a bit. 04:47.280 --> 04:49.040 Go to Matthew chapter 11, if you would. 04:49.040 --> 04:50.080 Matthew chapter 11. 04:50.080 --> 04:51.960 Hold your place there in Genesis chapter 18. 04:53.000 --> 05:00.000 This morning I want to talk about how to save a nation. Of course, I'm referring to saving our nation, the United States of America. 05:00.000 --> 05:05.000 How can we as Christians do our part in saving our nation? 05:05.000 --> 05:09.000 Well, let's talk about what we mean about saving a nation. What does that mean exactly? 05:09.000 --> 05:16.000 You know, some would say it means to save it from becoming exceedingly sinful, from having more abominations come through, 05:16.000 --> 05:21.000 and more, you know, sodomy, and all this filth and perversion. 05:21.000 --> 05:24.000 you know, basically stopping it from spreading in our nation. 05:24.000 --> 05:27.000 Others would say, well, we need to save our nation 05:27.000 --> 05:31.000 by making sure that we keep American culture, American culture, 05:31.000 --> 05:35.000 and prevent other foreign cultures from interceding in that, right? 05:35.000 --> 05:38.000 You know, we need to have a lot more stricter immigration policies 05:38.000 --> 05:41.000 because the more immigrants you have coming into this country, 05:41.000 --> 05:43.000 bringing in their false religion, 05:43.400 --> 05:50.600 bringing in their wicked culture, you know, we can preserve, we can save this nation from getting destroyed. 05:50.600 --> 05:58.400 Others would interpret saving a nation as simply preserving the ideals that we began with at the inception of our country. 05:58.700 --> 06:04.500 Some would say, well, no, we just got to save it by keeping out the Democrats and the liberals from the political systems. 06:04.500 --> 06:10.300 And we need to make sure, you know, America avoids being a socialist country, a commie country. 06:10.300 --> 06:12.300 That's how we're going to save our nation. 06:12.300 --> 06:15.300 Others would simply say, we just got to save it from economic decline. 06:15.600 --> 06:20.760 Okay, but when I say we need to save a nation I'm referring to saving it from God's wrath 06:21.060 --> 06:27.880 Okay, that's actually what I'm talking about here. You know the biggest threat to America believe it or not are not the homos 06:28.200 --> 06:35.020 They're not the liberals or Democrats. It's not disease. I'm gonna tell you who the biggest threat is is God himself 06:35.320 --> 06:42.420 Okay, that is the biggest threat to our country and in fact, you know a more accurate statement would be 06:43.040 --> 06:43.600 save 06:43.600 --> 06:50.660 a nation by delaying the wrath of God that will eventually come. 06:50.660 --> 06:53.580 And this is something that people have to accept and that is that the United States 06:53.580 --> 07:01.300 of America will one day be severely judged of God for its abominations, for its sin, 07:01.300 --> 07:05.300 for its crimes, for its warmongering efforts and so forth. 07:05.300 --> 07:10.060 And all we can do as God's people is try to delay that as long as possible. 07:10.900 --> 07:11.740 Okay. 07:12.300 --> 07:16.460 So it's important for us to recognize that we can do our part by doing so but you know what? 07:16.460 --> 07:18.580 Let me just be honest with you the judgment is gonna come 07:18.660 --> 07:23.560 You know if you've read the book of Revelation you see that all nations suffer the wrath of God 07:23.620 --> 07:30.980 There's not a single nation that God's just gonna single out and he's gonna ignore all the abortions all the murders all the filth all 07:30.980 --> 07:37.360 The perversion all the Jews all of Hollywood. He's not gonna ignore all that and just say well because it's America 07:37.360 --> 07:39.000 I'm not gonna judge it. Okay 07:39.100 --> 07:41.100 Let me just make something very clear. 07:41.100 --> 07:42.740 I love America. 07:42.740 --> 07:45.540 I'm not a traitor to my country. 07:45.540 --> 07:47.400 I love the United States of America. 07:47.500 --> 07:49.500 I just can't stand its government, you know. 07:49.500 --> 07:51.500 And, you know, I can't stand its leaders, 07:51.500 --> 07:53.500 I can't stand its government, 07:53.500 --> 07:55.500 I can't stand, you know, people 07:55.500 --> 07:57.500 who masquerade as Christians, but they're 07:57.500 --> 07:59.500 politicians, but they try to masquerade as Christians. 07:59.500 --> 08:01.500 I hate, you know, 08:01.500 --> 08:03.500 what the higher-ups do in our nation, 08:03.500 --> 08:05.500 but I love our country. I love the 08:05.500 --> 08:07.500 red, white, and blue, you know, if I could, I would've 08:07.500 --> 08:09.500 came today in a red, white, and blue suit, 08:09.500 --> 08:11.400 you know, look real cheesy and Republican. 08:12.800 --> 08:14.640 I'm not a Republican, by the way. 08:14.640 --> 08:18.840 But I love our nation, and I'm so thankful that I was born. 08:18.840 --> 08:21.760 And yes, I was born here. 08:21.760 --> 08:23.800 Just to let you know that, OK? 08:23.800 --> 08:26.760 I'm not an illegal, OK? 08:26.760 --> 08:28.760 But I'm thankful that I was born in this country. 08:28.760 --> 08:31.000 And quite frankly, it is the greatest country 08:31.000 --> 08:32.520 on the face of the planet, OK? 08:32.520 --> 08:34.240 Especially when you compare it to other countries. 08:34.240 --> 08:36.120 I'm thankful that I wasn't born in India. 08:36.120 --> 08:37.200 Just be honest. 08:37.300 --> 08:40.500 You know, I'm thankful that I wasn't born overseas. 08:40.500 --> 08:43.900 I wasn't born, you know, in Mexico. 08:43.900 --> 08:45.060 Yeah, I said it. 08:45.060 --> 08:46.540 You know, I'm thankful that I wasn't born 08:46.540 --> 08:48.600 in this other country, because this is the best country. 08:48.700 --> 08:50.900 It's the country where I got saved. 08:50.900 --> 08:53.900 It's the country where I heard about the gospel. 08:53.900 --> 08:56.300 I got the King James Bible. 08:56.300 --> 08:58.300 I got into a Bible believing church 08:58.300 --> 09:00.400 and it reformed my mind and changed my life. 09:00.400 --> 09:01.100 Amen. 09:01.100 --> 09:04.400 And it's because of people who have come in times past 09:04.400 --> 09:06.200 and put in the work in this country 09:06.200 --> 09:07.800 to make it what it is today. 09:07.800 --> 09:10.000 And you know, I know that we're not necessarily 09:10.000 --> 09:11.600 a Christian country per se, 09:11.600 --> 09:13.900 but there's a lot of churches in America. 09:13.900 --> 09:15.500 There's a lot of fundamental Baptists in America. 09:15.500 --> 09:16.700 There's a lot of people who have the right God. 09:16.700 --> 09:19.700 in America, there's a lot of missionaries and soul owners in America. 09:19.700 --> 09:23.700 And quite frankly, it is the country that's doing a lot for the gospel. 09:23.700 --> 09:28.700 And so my stamp of approval on America is not my stamp of approval on its president, 09:28.700 --> 09:31.700 on its government, and so forth. 09:31.700 --> 09:36.700 I love this nation because of the fact that God has blessed our nation, for sure. 09:36.700 --> 09:38.600 And you would have to be blind not to see that. 09:38.900 --> 09:42.400 And if you don't believe our country has been blessed of God, then go ahead and take a look 09:42.400 --> 09:44.560 around you in this world. 09:44.560 --> 09:46.280 Look at the surrounding nations. 09:46.280 --> 09:49.720 But let me also say this, it doesn't mean that our country is not going to be judged 09:50.300 --> 09:55.500 because it severely it will be judged one day. Let me read you a couple verses here before we get 09:55.500 --> 10:02.220 into Matthew chapter 11 Deuteronomy 32 verse 39 says, See now that I even I am he and there is no 10:02.220 --> 10:09.980 God with me. I kill and I make alive I wound and I heal neither is there any that can deliver out of 10:09.980 --> 10:15.100 my hand. In other words he's saying if I'm going to judge you as a nation as an individual no one 10:15.100 --> 10:17.980 is going to help you with this. No one's going to be able to deliver you out of my hand. 10:18.300 --> 10:20.380 No one can escape the wrath of God. 10:20.380 --> 10:23.020 No one can escape the disciplinary hand of God. 10:23.020 --> 10:25.460 If you're going to get it, you're going to get it one day. 10:25.460 --> 10:28.820 Exodus 34, verse 7 says, keeping mercy for thousands, 10:28.820 --> 10:32.060 forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin. 10:32.060 --> 10:34.860 And that will by no means clear the guilty, 10:34.860 --> 10:38.740 visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children. 10:38.740 --> 10:41.260 Upon the children's children, the Bible says, 10:41.260 --> 10:43.580 unto the third and to the fourth generation. 10:44.300 --> 10:48.140 So God doesn't forget about the sins of the past, the sins of a nation. 10:48.140 --> 10:52.300 He says, I will punish that nation and the generations to come. 10:52.300 --> 10:56.060 He's not going to clear the guilty and those who have transgressed his laws and so forth. 10:56.060 --> 11:03.660 Psalm 9 verse 17 says, the wicked shall be turned into hell and all the nations that forget God, the Bible says. 11:04.400 --> 11:09.920 Psalm 110 verse 6 he shall judge among the nations among the heathen excuse me 11:09.920 --> 11:14.660 He shall fill the places with the dead bodies. He shall wound the heads over many 11:15.280 --> 11:17.480 Countries, let me keep reading a couple more verses here 11:18.000 --> 11:24.440 Jeremiah 25 verse 31 a noise shall come even to the ends of the earth for the Lord hath a 11:24.920 --> 11:28.060 Controversy with the nations. He will plead with all flesh 11:28.600 --> 11:33.000 He will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the Lord. 11:33.000 --> 11:36.300 This is God's threats on the nations of this world. 11:36.300 --> 11:37.900 He said, I am going to punish you. 11:37.900 --> 11:40.000 I, destruction shall come upon you. 11:40.000 --> 11:41.600 The sword's going to come upon you. 11:41.600 --> 11:46.100 Isaiah 13 verse 11 says, and I will punish the world for their evil 11:46.100 --> 11:48.300 and the wicked for their iniquity. 11:48.500 --> 11:51.700 and that will cause the arrogance of the proud to cease 11:51.700 --> 11:54.820 and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible. 11:54.820 --> 11:56.100 34 verse 2 says, 11:56.100 --> 11:59.540 for the indignation of the Lord is upon all nations 11:59.540 --> 12:01.940 and is fury upon all their armies. 12:01.940 --> 12:03.780 He hath utterly destroyed them. 12:03.780 --> 12:06.340 He had delivered them to the slaughter. 12:06.340 --> 12:07.380 Ezekiel 14. 12:08.100 --> 12:11.940 says this, these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it, 12:11.940 --> 12:16.480 they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, save the Lord God. 12:16.480 --> 12:21.300 He's saying here, a nation can become so wicked, so godless, 12:21.300 --> 12:24.340 that even if you have three of the most righteous men throughout history, 12:24.340 --> 12:27.780 they won't even be able to stop the wrath of God from coming upon that nation. 12:29.200 --> 12:33.520 So even a righteous remnant can't stop the judgment to come. 12:33.520 --> 12:36.480 Oh, they can prevent, they can delay it a little bit. 12:36.480 --> 12:39.840 They can, you know, put it off for some time. 12:39.840 --> 12:42.880 But at the end of the day, they're not going to be able to stop God's wrath 12:42.880 --> 12:45.680 from coming upon that nation because God has to judge it. 12:45.680 --> 12:47.760 Zephaniah chapter three verse eight says this, 12:47.760 --> 12:50.480 Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the Lord, 12:50.480 --> 12:52.480 Until the day that I rise up to the praying. 12:53.200 --> 12:59.920 For my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms to pour upon them 13:00.480 --> 13:07.200 mine indignation. Even all my fierce anger for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire 13:07.200 --> 13:11.120 of my jealousy." What am I saying here? What we see here is that God is saying, 13:11.120 --> 13:16.720 hey, don't think that just because you have the gospel, just because you're winning souls, 13:16.720 --> 13:19.280 that somehow God's just going to look the other way. 13:20.100 --> 13:23.660 and not judge the nation for its crimes and abominations. 13:23.660 --> 13:27.060 All we can do really is delay that judgment to come. 13:28.100 --> 13:31.700 And I do think it's important for us to be thankful for the country that we're in. 13:31.700 --> 13:37.220 You know, I do think that we should be loyal to the nation that we're in and not just be these, 13:37.220 --> 13:42.100 you know, uh, trader types where, you know, we're in this country, but we're promoting a different 13:42.100 --> 13:46.020 country. Obviously during the World's Cup, it's different, you know what I mean? I guess you guys, 13:46.020 --> 13:49.780 I guess that's allowed or something, but I'm talking about in general, and you have this a 13:49.780 --> 13:53.380 lot where it's just like, you know, they're in the United, people who are in United States of America, 13:54.020 --> 13:56.020 but then they're talking about how great Mexico is. 13:56.100 --> 13:57.220 or something like that. 13:57.220 --> 14:00.740 But it's just like, then why are you here? 14:00.740 --> 14:03.780 You know, if Mexico's so great, if Mexico's so awesome, 14:03.780 --> 14:06.020 which it's not, because it's got a Jew president, who's 14:06.020 --> 14:08.860 a woman, by the way, you know, if it's so great, 14:08.860 --> 14:10.100 then why don't you go over there? 14:10.100 --> 14:13.620 Why do you want to come here and complain about here, 14:13.620 --> 14:14.820 and you're not over there? 14:14.820 --> 14:16.620 It just doesn't make any sense. 14:16.620 --> 14:17.660 And here's the thing. 14:17.660 --> 14:20.180 The United States of America is so generous 14:20.180 --> 14:22.220 that it'll give you a free ticket over there. 14:22.600 --> 14:24.600 If you're illegal here, you know? 14:24.600 --> 14:25.600 Just go turn yourself in. 14:25.600 --> 14:26.600 You don't even have to pay for it. 14:26.600 --> 14:29.600 They'll just throw you on a plane and toss you right over the border. 14:29.600 --> 14:30.600 Amen? 14:30.600 --> 14:32.600 You know? 14:32.600 --> 14:36.600 And here's the thing, folks, is that you need to make sure that you are thankful for this nation. 14:36.600 --> 14:37.600 Because this is the nation. 14:37.600 --> 14:41.600 These are the bounds, as the Bible says, these are the bounds in which he's placed us in. 14:41.600 --> 14:42.300 Right? 14:42.400 --> 14:47.800 This is the city, this is the state, this is the country where God has placed you, 14:47.800 --> 14:52.800 and we need to take advantage of that and use it in order to get people saved, 14:52.800 --> 14:55.200 to preach the gospel, and to carry out the work of God. 14:55.200 --> 14:55.900 Okay? 14:55.900 --> 14:59.500 And I'm just thankful that we get to do it here and not in some other... 14:59.500 --> 15:02.800 I'm grateful that I wasn't born in Iraq or something, you know? 15:02.800 --> 15:06.200 If I grow my beard long enough, I know I look like I may have been, 15:06.200 --> 15:08.500 but, you know, that's why I keep it short. Amen. 15:09.500 --> 15:11.540 I don't want to give anybody any ideas. 15:11.540 --> 15:16.040 So it's important for us to be thankful, but let's just be realistic here. 15:16.040 --> 15:20.680 The realistic position that we as Christians need to take is be grateful for our nation 15:20.680 --> 15:25.020 but recognize that it's not above or approached to the point where God is not going to judge 15:25.020 --> 15:26.020 this nation. 15:26.020 --> 15:27.020 He is going to judge it. 15:27.020 --> 15:28.860 And don't grow so attached to America. 15:29.200 --> 15:34.280 That you forget that you are actually a citizen of a better country, which is heaven, right? 15:34.280 --> 15:41.040 And so don't become so attached to what's going on here and so and get your stakes down so deep that you're just like 15:41.040 --> 15:46.200 You forget about the eternal because at the end of the day we are citizens of the heavenly Jerusalem 15:46.280 --> 15:49.880 We are sojourners here.
