WEBVTT

09:00.900 --> 09:04.100
Good morning everyone. We are going to go ahead and get started this morning.

09:04.100 --> 09:07.420
Our clock is falling a little behind, but the time is right.

09:07.420 --> 09:10.420
It is time to get started. Welcome to Anchor Baptist Church.

09:10.420 --> 09:14.140
Our first hymn for the morning is number 112,

09:14.140 --> 09:17.100
Be Still My Soul.

09:17.100 --> 09:20.260
Hymn number 112, 112,

09:20.260 --> 09:22.800
Be Still My Soul.

09:28.400 --> 09:32.840
112, 112, Be Still My Soul.

09:32.840 --> 09:34.920
Let's sing it all together.

09:34.920 --> 09:40.280
Be still my soul, the Lord is.

12:24.900 --> 12:28.980
Thank you for yet another day to gather together to sing out praises in your name and to hear

12:28.980 --> 12:29.980
from your word.

12:29.980 --> 12:34.300
Lord, I just pray that you'd be with those who are potentially still traveling back from

12:34.300 --> 12:37.700
the missions trip to Fiji and all the souls that were saved there.

12:37.700 --> 12:42.260
I pray that you'd be with us here locally for the services and for our soul winning

12:42.260 --> 12:45.900
this afternoon and that you would open our ears to the message both this morning and

12:45.900 --> 12:46.900
this evening.

12:46.900 --> 12:48.180
These things we pray in Jesus name.

12:48.180 --> 12:49.180
Amen.

12:49.180 --> 12:50.180
Amen.

12:50.180 --> 12:52.340
Next to him, number 406.

12:52.900 --> 12:56.900
Hymn number 406, who is on the Lord's side?

13:00.500 --> 13:01.000
Ahem.

13:06.500 --> 13:11.060
406-406 who is on the Lord's side. Let's sing it out.

16:59.600 --> 17:03.440
Please raise your hand and an usher would be glad to bring you one there on

17:04.040 --> 17:09.800
The front is our Bible memory passage of the week there second Timothy chapter number two

17:10.320 --> 17:16.360
Verse five and of course our goal is to memorize the entire epistle here of second Timothy

17:17.160 --> 17:21.600
Had a great day yesterday. We our church was invited to do an interview

17:22.560 --> 17:23.900
surprisingly with

17:24.100 --> 17:27.300
public television of the nation of Israel.

17:27.300 --> 17:28.900
So that was interesting.

17:28.900 --> 17:31.860
So this is the government funded propaganda arm

17:31.860 --> 17:33.980
of the Israeli public television.

17:33.980 --> 17:37.060
So it's like BBC in England or PBS here,

17:37.060 --> 17:38.380
something like that.

17:38.380 --> 17:40.460
And they're making a documentary

17:40.460 --> 17:42.660
basically about Jewish guilt.

17:42.700 --> 17:47.500
of the crucifixion of Jesus and Judaism and anti-Semitism in general.

17:47.500 --> 17:51.820
They interviewed me for about 45 minutes, 50 minutes or something like that

17:51.820 --> 17:53.460
regarding what the Bible teaches on this.

17:54.100 --> 17:59.220
At one point, the producer started throwing stuff and yelling in anger.

17:59.220 --> 18:06.580
I don't know if that was because of what the Bible was saying, or because the interviewer was just not able to get me in the traps that he was trying to lay.

18:06.580 --> 18:11.180
If you go on our YouTube channel, it's posted up there if you want to watch that full interview.

18:11.180 --> 18:13.020
I think you'll at least find it interesting.

18:13.020 --> 18:22.020
That's pretty funny how Israel and the Jews are losing in this topic so badly that the Israeli government is reaching out to anchor Baptist Church.

18:22.100 --> 18:26.740
for an interview. It just goes to show what's happening in this world.

18:26.740 --> 18:30.620
But the Bible is so clearly on our side, it's not even funny.

18:30.620 --> 18:35.500
It was a really fun time. The guy interviewing me was a nice guy.

18:35.500 --> 18:41.540
He wasn't a religious Jew at all. He's a secular. He called himself a secular Jew, a cultural Jew.

18:41.540 --> 18:42.740
He lives in Israel.

18:42.900 --> 18:46.820
So it was a good conversation had a good time. So definitely check that out on our YouTube channel

18:47.540 --> 18:52.040
On the left side there. We got our service times Sunday morning 1030 Sunday evening

18:52.140 --> 18:55.960
430 our Wednesday Bible study through the gospel of Mark at 7 p.m

18:56.380 --> 19:02.940
We have all of our soul winning times listed there below all those meet here at the church building except for Saturday

19:03.480 --> 19:10.900
Yesterday we had a SWAT soul winning time and sometimes when you go to the SWAT locations things can get a little interesting

19:10.900 --> 19:15.060
and so we had a very angry man who was drunk

19:15.060 --> 19:18.100
dealing with us and thankfully nothing happened

19:18.100 --> 19:20.140
but be aware, I always offer people,

19:20.140 --> 19:22.460
hey if you want a regular map when we're doing the SWOT,

19:22.460 --> 19:24.900
I'll give you a regular map, especially you ladies

19:24.900 --> 19:26.860
because sometimes things get a little crazy.

19:26.860 --> 19:28.160
Just letting you know on that.

19:28.160 --> 19:29.260
Then we have our year to date,

19:29.260 --> 19:32.540
soul winning statistics, July we have 62.

19:33.000 --> 19:38.960
US for the year 430 Philippines 798 so we're at 1235 for the year

19:39.500 --> 19:45.220
A couple of our church members, Brother Sonny, Brother Theodore, just went to Fiji, and the

19:45.220 --> 19:48.380
report I heard is that it was very receptive.

19:48.380 --> 19:52.020
In Theodore's words, he said it was better than the Philippines, which is just crazy.

19:52.020 --> 19:56.180
And he said the reason for that is because there's absolutely no language barrier at

19:56.180 --> 20:00.860
all, whereas sometimes in the Philippines there can be people who speak only Tagalog.

20:01.400 --> 20:04.880
And so Brother Theodore told me he had 80 salvations in a few days there.

20:04.880 --> 20:06.680
So praise the Lord for that.

20:06.680 --> 20:10.280
It looked like a really great group of people, some soul winners from Steadfast,

20:10.280 --> 20:12.320
and First Works, and Anchor Baptist Church.

20:12.320 --> 20:12.500
you

20:12.600 --> 20:17.680
So great work that was done there. Just hearing a few minutes from brother Theodore. He sold me

20:17.680 --> 20:20.040
I'm wanting to go there. I would love to go there in the future

20:20.040 --> 20:24.560
So if you've never been on a missions trip, you got to make it a priority to plan a missions trip

20:24.880 --> 20:29.720
It's definitely a life-changing experience and it's gonna be the best soul winning you've ever had in your life

20:29.800 --> 20:33.800
Oklahoma is a great place to preach the gospel, but it's not Fiji. It's not the Bahamas

20:33.960 --> 20:37.920
It's not the Philippines. And so if you ever get a chance to go I highly recommend it

20:38.600 --> 20:45.800
We do have there our online visitor card as well as our online giving information as well as our prayer list

20:46.360 --> 20:50.760
There's one that's time sensitive there an update for miss jennifer for a monday appointment

20:51.160 --> 20:54.280
Please keep that in prayer today and tomorrow morning

20:54.920 --> 20:56.920
On the back we have our upcoming events

20:57.600 --> 21:03.520
Our next Sony marathon is in Shawnee, Oklahoma. I understand that some people are having issues

21:03.520 --> 21:07.680
signing up on the website, so I'll make sure to get another paper printed to sign up physically

21:07.680 --> 21:13.520
as well. But that's August 15th, meeting at 9 a.m. at Chick-fil-A. August 23rd is the next

21:13.520 --> 21:18.640
men's preaching night for the evening service. We'll have a potluck and game night after that.

21:19.100 --> 21:27.100
September 19th, we're going to do the Osage Indian Sowing Marathon in Pahuska in the northeast part of the state up there.

21:27.100 --> 21:33.000
Then we've got October 24th, Orr Family Farm Fellowship Saturday.

21:33.300 --> 21:37.140
October 31st, that's the next Saturday, our Chili Cook Off.

21:37.140 --> 21:39.660
And then November 7th, Enid, Oklahoma,

21:39.660 --> 21:41.140
soul winning marathon.

21:41.140 --> 21:42.800
And of course, there'll be some more events

21:42.800 --> 21:44.500
throughout the year as well.

21:44.500 --> 21:47.340
Lord Willing, our documentary, Lord Willing,

21:47.340 --> 21:49.700
will be done before the end of the year.

21:49.700 --> 21:50.940
And we're gonna, Lord Willing,

21:50.940 --> 21:53.860
have some more cool guest preachers this year as well.

21:53.860 --> 21:55.700
So just stay tuned for those things.

21:55.700 --> 21:57.100
But that's gonna be it for announcements.

21:57.100 --> 21:59.140
We'll go ahead and go to our third song.

21:59.140 --> 21:59.700
Thanks for watching!

22:03.000 --> 22:09.600
Our third song this morning, number 223, 223,

22:09.600 --> 22:11.200
Springs of Living Water.

22:15.900 --> 22:20.900
223, 223, Springs of Living Water.

22:27.000 --> 22:29.400
223 let's sing it out all together

24:36.900 --> 24:42.420
as the offering plates are being passed, turn if you would to Matthew chapter 13.

24:42.420 --> 24:44.500
Matthew chapter number 13.

25:54.100 --> 25:58.220
Matthew Chapter 13 The same day went Jesus out of the house

25:58.220 --> 26:03.260
and sat by the seaside, and great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he

26:03.260 --> 26:07.460
went into a ship and sat, and the whole multitude stood on the shore.

26:07.800 --> 26:13.280
And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow.

26:13.280 --> 26:17.840
And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the wayside, and the fowls came and devoured them

26:17.840 --> 26:18.840
up.

26:18.840 --> 26:22.120
Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth.

26:22.120 --> 26:25.240
And forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth.

26:26.000 --> 26:30.800
And when the sun was up, they were scorched, and because they had no root, they withered away.

26:30.800 --> 26:34.640
And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprung up and choked them.

26:34.640 --> 26:41.280
But other fell into good grounds, and brought forth fruit, some in hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.

26:41.600 --> 26:44.040
Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

26:44.040 --> 26:46.280
And the disciples came and said unto him,

26:46.280 --> 26:48.760
Why speakest thou unto them in parables?

26:48.760 --> 26:50.280
He answered and said unto them,

26:50.280 --> 26:52.640
Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries

26:52.640 --> 26:56.000
of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

26:56.000 --> 26:58.560
For whosoever hath, to him shall be given,

26:58.560 --> 27:00.360
and he shall have more abundance.

27:00.360 --> 27:03.200
But whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away

27:03.200 --> 27:04.480
even that he hath.

27:04.700 --> 27:09.640
Therefore speak I to them in parables, because they seeing see not, and hearing they hear

27:09.640 --> 27:12.260
not, neither do they understand.

27:12.260 --> 27:16.820
And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and

27:16.820 --> 27:22.060
shall not understand, and by seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive.

27:22.060 --> 27:23.400
this people

27:24.200 --> 27:29.600
For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed,

27:29.600 --> 27:37.100
lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

27:37.100 --> 27:41.600
But blessed are your eyes, for they see, and your ears, for they hear.

27:41.600 --> 27:51.900
For verily I say unto you, that many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them, and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

27:52.200 --> 27:56.520
Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower, When any one heareth the word of the kingdom,

27:56.520 --> 27:59.800
And understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one,

27:59.800 --> 28:02.680
And catcheth away that which was sown in his heart.

28:02.680 --> 28:08.120
This is he which receiveth seed by the wayside. But he that receiveth seed into stony places,

28:08.120 --> 28:12.040
The same is he that heareth the word, And anon with joy receiveth it.

28:12.300 --> 28:16.180
Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while.

28:16.180 --> 28:22.560
For when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

28:22.560 --> 28:26.880
He also that receiveth seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word, and the care

28:26.880 --> 28:32.320
of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomeeth unfruitful.

28:32.800 --> 28:37.760
But he that receives seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word and understandeth it,

28:37.760 --> 28:43.600
which also beareth fruit and bringeth forth, some in hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

28:43.600 --> 28:48.560
Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which

28:48.560 --> 28:54.160
sowed good seed in his field. But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat,

28:54.160 --> 28:59.440
and went his way. But when the blade was sprung up and brought forth fruit, then appeared the

28:59.440 --> 29:00.440
tears also.

29:00.800 --> 29:05.680
So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst thou not sow good

29:05.680 --> 29:07.200
seed in thy field?

29:07.200 --> 29:09.000
From whence then hath it tares?

29:09.000 --> 29:11.680
And he said unto them, An enemy hath done this.

29:11.680 --> 29:15.960
The servant said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

29:15.960 --> 29:21.000
But he said, Nay, lest while you gather up the tares, you root up also the wheat with

29:21.000 --> 29:21.400
them.

29:22.000 --> 29:27.120
Let both grow together until the harvest, and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers,

29:27.120 --> 29:31.280
Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them,

29:31.280 --> 29:33.040
But gather the wheat into my barn.

29:33.600 --> 29:36.080
Another parable put ye forth unto them, saying,

29:36.080 --> 29:39.200
The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed,

29:39.200 --> 29:41.800
Which a man took and sowed in his field.

29:41.900 --> 29:47.020
which indeed is the least of all seeds, but when it is grown it is the greatest among herbs,

29:47.020 --> 29:51.260
and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.

29:52.380 --> 29:56.620
Another parable spake he unto them, The kingdom of heaven is like unto Levin,

29:56.620 --> 30:00.860
which woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was Levins.

30:01.420 --> 30:04.780
All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables,

30:04.780 --> 30:07.180
and without a parable spake he not unto them.

30:07.700 --> 30:11.060
that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken by the prophet, saying,

30:11.060 --> 30:15.300
I will open my mouth in parables. I will utter things which have been kept secret

30:15.300 --> 30:19.540
from the foundation of the world. Then Jesus sent the multitude away and

30:19.540 --> 30:22.980
went into the house. And his disciples came unto him, saying,

30:22.980 --> 30:26.100
Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.

30:26.200 --> 30:30.600
He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of Man.

30:30.600 --> 30:34.040
The field is the world, the good seed are the children of the kingdom,

30:34.040 --> 30:36.600
but the tares are the children of the wicked one.

30:36.900 --> 30:42.900
The enemy that sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the world, and the reapers are the angels.

30:42.900 --> 30:48.400
As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so shall it be in the end of this world.

30:48.400 --> 30:57.900
The Son of Man shall send forth His angels, and they shall gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity, and shall cast them into a furnace of fire.

30:57.900 --> 31:00.400
There shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

31:00.800 --> 31:05.040
Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their father,

31:05.040 --> 31:10.880
who hath ears to hear, let him hear. Again the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure

31:10.880 --> 31:16.000
hid in a field, the which when a man hath found he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth

31:16.000 --> 31:21.600
and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. Again the kingdom of heaven is like unto

31:21.600 --> 31:24.160
a merchant man seeking goodly pearls.

31:24.300 --> 31:29.820
who when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.

31:29.820 --> 31:34.940
Again the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net that was cast into the sea and gathered of every

31:34.940 --> 31:40.540
kind, which when it was full they drew to shore, and sat down and gathered the good into vessels,

31:40.540 --> 31:46.060
but cast the bad away. So shall it be at the end of the world. The angels shall come forth

31:46.060 --> 31:48.060
and sever the wicked from among the just.

31:48.400 --> 31:52.800
and shall cast them into the furnace of fire. There shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

31:53.600 --> 31:58.160
Jesus saith unto them, Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea, Lord.

31:58.800 --> 32:03.600
Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven

32:03.600 --> 32:09.040
is like unto a man that is in householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and

32:09.040 --> 32:09.700
old.

32:10.000 --> 32:14.400
And it came to pass that when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed thence.

32:14.400 --> 32:18.720
And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue,

32:18.720 --> 32:20.800
in so much that they were astonished, and said,

32:21.760 --> 32:24.720
Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?

32:25.360 --> 32:28.640
Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not his mother called Mary,

32:28.640 --> 32:31.840
and his brethren James, and Joseph, and Simon, and Judas,

32:32.400 --> 32:36.960
and his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?

32:37.500 --> 32:40.460
and they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them,

32:40.460 --> 32:45.100
A prophet is not without honor, save in his own country and in his own house.

32:45.100 --> 32:49.020
And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

32:49.020 --> 32:51.980
Let's pray. Your heavenly father, thank you for this day.

32:51.980 --> 32:55.020
I pray that you would fill pastor with your spirit,

32:55.020 --> 32:59.020
help them preach an edifying sermon for us and help us to receive it. Amen.

32:59.740 --> 33:03.900
Amen. We're in Matthew chapter 13. Let's start reading in verse number 44.

33:05.000 --> 33:12.240
Jesus said again the kingdom of heaven is like unto a treasure hid in a field the which when a man hath found

33:12.600 --> 33:19.280
He hideth and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath and buyeth that

33:19.760 --> 33:20.600
field

33:20.800 --> 33:27.660
One observation I want to make about this parable is just thinking about the actual physical truth thinking about the actual carnal

33:28.340 --> 33:33.480
Illustration that Jesus is giving here when this man finds treasure in his field

33:34.000 --> 33:35.720
Obviously he's excited for that

33:35.720 --> 33:41.920
But it's not like he just kind of cordons off this one little part of the field that just has the treasure and he just

33:41.920 --> 33:46.060
Purchases only that treasure. He actually just purchases the whole field

33:46.600 --> 33:52.120
You've got to think about, for example, in places like Oklahoma, there's been many people

33:52.120 --> 33:56.160
throughout the history of this state that have found some oil on their land and they're

33:56.160 --> 33:58.700
excited they find this treasure.

33:58.700 --> 34:02.760
When you find out that you have oil on this land, people are willing to just buy up this

34:02.760 --> 34:06.360
whole huge piece of land for the oil that is there.

34:06.700 --> 34:09.400
And you got to think about when you're buying a field,

34:09.400 --> 34:12.200
whether that's in Oklahoma or wherever this is talking about,

34:12.200 --> 34:14.520
you're not just buying the treasure.

34:14.520 --> 34:16.740
You're not just buying the oil.

34:16.740 --> 34:20.500
What you're also buying is all the bugs on that field

34:20.500 --> 34:24.700
and all the ticks and the foxes and the coyotes

34:24.700 --> 34:27.600
and the bramble bushes and maybe some old

34:27.600 --> 34:30.580
dilapidated structures from times past

34:30.580 --> 34:34.280
and maybe some trash from trespassers dumping onto your land

34:34.280 --> 34:34.700
and maybe.

34:34.700 --> 34:38.780
just all sorts of other less desirable things in that field.

34:38.780 --> 34:40.740
But you know what, you're okay with putting up

34:40.740 --> 34:42.260
with those less desirable things

34:42.260 --> 34:45.100
because of the fact that there's treasure within that field,

34:45.100 --> 34:47.420
because of the fact that there's something valuable

34:47.420 --> 34:49.040
within that field.

34:49.040 --> 34:51.320
You know, when I grew up, me and my brothers,

34:51.320 --> 34:55.720
we had a big field literally right behind our house.

34:55.720 --> 34:57.320
And we would just jump over our fence

34:57.320 --> 34:59.260
and we would play in that field.

34:59.260 --> 35:02.580
And in that field was Black Widows.

35:02.600 --> 35:09.280
and snakes and trash and metal pipes sticking up out of the ground and

35:10.120 --> 35:13.640
Foxes and you know just bugs and just nasty stuff

35:13.720 --> 35:19.820
But here's what that field had it was a place where we could build ramps for our bikes and play and have fun as kids

35:20.400 --> 35:25.360
It was a place where me and my brothers, we would dig foxholes that would probably injure

35:25.360 --> 35:26.640
someone if they didn't see it.

35:26.640 --> 35:31.680
We're like recreating like little Vietnam war traps, if you will.

35:31.680 --> 35:35.880
That field was a place where we would just have the coolest airsoft wars you could possibly

35:35.880 --> 35:36.380
imagine.

35:36.700 --> 35:41.800
There was a time there was a certain time of year where the grass would grow taller than we were at the time

35:41.800 --> 35:48.380
And we would get like this scythe and we would just cut out like this little maze so we could just have like the most crazy

35:49.100 --> 35:51.100
intense airsoft wars

35:51.100 --> 35:57.240
Imaginable and look you could look at that field and say like hey, it's just a field. It's gross. There's spiders. There's snakes

35:57.240 --> 36:01.400
There's trash. There's you know homeless people sometimes there's all this bad stuff

36:01.400 --> 36:04.600
but you know what there was treasure in that field for us because

36:04.700 --> 36:06.720
of the way that we got to use it.

36:06.720 --> 36:09.260
And for the Oklahoman, yeah, there's a lot of problems

36:09.260 --> 36:11.160
with some of the land, but there's oil there,

36:11.160 --> 36:12.280
there's treasure there.

36:12.280 --> 36:13.820
This guy finds the treasure.

36:13.820 --> 36:15.960
Yeah, there's probably issues there, but you know what?

36:15.960 --> 36:17.840
There's treasure in his field as well.

36:17.840 --> 36:19.100
And the title of my sermon is this,

36:19.100 --> 36:21.740
the treasure in your field.

36:21.740 --> 36:23.840
The treasure in your field.

36:23.840 --> 36:25.340
Go to Job chapter number two.

36:26.420 --> 36:27.000
You know.

36:27.200 --> 36:32.800
One of the things we can learn right off the bat from this is that life is a combination of good and bad.

36:33.200 --> 36:36.880
There is no one in this world that is just getting the treasure

36:37.200 --> 36:40.880
No one's just like I'm just only gonna buy the treasure forget the rest of the field

36:40.880 --> 36:48.040
You know, there's a combination of the snakes and the the weird, you know trash and all that stuff and the treasure life is a

36:48.040 --> 36:51.840
Combination of good and bad look what job said in verse number seven

36:51.840 --> 36:58.420
It says in verse 7 of chapter 2 so went Satan forth from the presence of the Lord and smote job

36:58.580 --> 37:01.180
with sore boils from the soul

37:01.200 --> 37:06.640
of his foot unto his crown. This is not the treasure of his life. This is the field. This

37:06.640 --> 37:12.800
is the bad stuff. Then he took him a pot shirt to scrape himself with all and he sat down

37:12.800 --> 37:18.520
among the ashes. Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? Curse

37:18.520 --> 37:24.400
God and die. But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh.

37:24.800 --> 37:31.840
Notice this what shall we receive good at the hand of God and shall we not receive evil?

37:32.560 --> 37:36.160
In all this did Job sin with his lips

37:36.600 --> 37:44.000
Job is just pointing out. Hey, are we only going to receive the treasure from God or are we not also going to receive?

37:44.100 --> 37:52.100
The field are we not going to receive good from hand of God and look every person in this life has good given them from God

37:52.600 --> 37:57.860
Saved or unsaved God causes the rain to fall on the just and on the unjust

37:57.860 --> 38:04.520
You know even reprobates in this world if they're breathing air that's from God that they can live. Okay, so I don't care

38:04.600 --> 38:10.260
Who you are how bad your situation in life is there is some good in your life and also

38:10.840 --> 38:14.040
Don't look at someone who you would say man. They have such a perfect life

38:14.040 --> 38:18.920
They have such a good life you may think that but I guarantee you they have bad in their life as well

38:18.920 --> 38:22.160
And we all have different good and bad in our life

38:22.160 --> 38:27.780
And let me say this the people in your life are going to be a combination of good and bad

38:28.400 --> 38:33.320
And it doesn't matter if it's your neighbor, your friend, your grandma, your spouse, your

38:33.320 --> 38:37.820
children, your parents, your doctor, your pastor, your teacher.

38:37.820 --> 38:42.400
We are all going to be a combination of that treasure and that field.

38:42.400 --> 38:43.400
Right?

38:43.400 --> 38:47.960
And so we want to be people that are not those that just focus on all the negative in life

38:47.960 --> 38:52.800
and complain about the thorns and complain about the problems and complain about things

38:52.800 --> 38:54.380
you don't like about someone.

38:54.380 --> 38:56.380
We should be people that are going to focus.

38:56.400 --> 39:02.800
the treasure that is in your field and if you actually want to be someone that has joy and

39:03.120 --> 39:08.800
Be someone that actually is productive with your life. You cannot be these hyper critical

39:09.280 --> 39:15.760
hyper complaining people that all you want to do is focus on the thorns and the negatives and the evils of your life because

39:15.760 --> 39:20.080
Look if you want to do that you could find it and if I want to do that I can find it

39:20.080 --> 39:22.080
But you know people like that are miserable people

39:22.900 --> 39:29.860
It cracks me up these people that think they're like these expert psycho, you know analysts because they could point out problems in people

39:29.860 --> 39:31.860
It's like wow congratulations

39:31.940 --> 39:35.860
Wow, you figured out romans 323 for all of sin and come short of the glory of god

39:36.100 --> 39:38.100
Aren't you special? Aren't you amazing?

39:38.180 --> 39:40.980
You know, you should become a psychologist or something. No, you know what?

39:40.980 --> 39:45.060
Why don't you be a person that tries to focus on the good in people in your lives?

39:45.460 --> 39:50.820
And not just nitpick each other and not just look for all the issues you could find in someone this is

39:50.900 --> 39:55.820
is how you're going to end up being lonely and miserable and nobody liking you.

39:55.820 --> 39:58.520
Go if you would to Matthew chapter number 18.

39:58.520 --> 40:00.920
Matthew chapter number 18.

40:00.920 --> 40:05.840
Let's make some application of this concept into just several different areas of our life.

40:05.840 --> 40:09.320
Number one, look for the treasure in your church.

40:09.700 --> 40:13.480
Look for the treasure in your church so many people today

40:13.700 --> 40:16.740
they just constantly want to hyper criticize and

40:17.020 --> 40:22.060
Focus on the field of whatever church they go to and look if you're going to any church in this world

40:22.060 --> 40:25.780
And you want to find problems you will find it because there's people there

40:26.300 --> 40:30.220
There are sinners there sinners are running things sinners are attending

40:30.380 --> 40:32.940
And so if you want to look for problems you will find it

40:33.180 --> 40:39.260
But what I suggest you do is that you look for treasure in your church look at matthew chapter 18 verse 20

40:40.300 --> 40:43.420
For where two or three are gathered together in my name

40:44.220 --> 40:45.820
There am I

40:45.820 --> 40:47.100
in the midst of them

40:47.300 --> 40:51.260
Hey, I'll concede. Yeah anchor Baptist Church. We have a field

40:51.260 --> 40:55.480
You know why because we're sinners here in this room today, but you know, there's a great treasure here today

40:55.480 --> 41:00.700
It's the Lord Jesus Christ because we're two or three are gathered together in his name

41:00.800 --> 41:06.400
He is here in the midst and so many people just treat church lightly. It's not a big deal

41:06.580 --> 41:12.040
They'll miss on a whim. They'll prioritize their job. They'll prioritize, you know, their fun and entertainment

41:12.500 --> 41:15.160
Whereas there's treasure here today. Why?

41:15.300 --> 41:17.580
because Jesus Christ is here.

41:17.580 --> 41:18.920
His word is here.

41:18.920 --> 41:19.760
And you know what?

41:19.760 --> 41:21.540
He's not out at the lake with you

41:21.540 --> 41:23.180
when you're skipping church.

41:23.180 --> 41:25.380
He's not out on the job site with you

41:25.380 --> 41:26.620
when you're skipping church.

41:26.620 --> 41:28.700
He's right here with us today.

41:28.900 --> 41:32.900
And look, you could go ahead and point out the problems that I have.

41:32.900 --> 41:35.420
You could point out, oh, I don't like the building.

41:35.420 --> 41:36.880
I don't like the programs.

41:36.880 --> 41:38.580
I wish we did things on this date.

41:38.580 --> 41:40.060
I wish we did things this way.

41:40.060 --> 41:43.540
Okay, you could be the person that points out the field, congratulations, or you could

41:43.540 --> 41:45.980
say, you know what, there's treasure at Anchor Baptist Church.

41:46.600 --> 41:51.240
And the people who realize that, they're gonna be more fulfilled, they're gonna be more spiritual,

41:51.240 --> 41:57.320
they're gonna be closer to God in life, rather than being this just complaining, spoiled brat.

41:58.040 --> 42:02.040
And you know how I know this? Because I've been to other parts of this world where their churches

42:02.040 --> 42:06.920
suck and they're happy with the churches that they have if there's some treasure there.

42:07.400 --> 42:09.280
And they learn like, yeah, I don't like that.

42:09.280 --> 42:12.520
You know, my pastor gets on me for soul winning a certain way

42:12.520 --> 42:14.200
or preaches the pre-trib rapture.

42:14.200 --> 42:16.600
But it's like, hey, they've got the King James Bible.

42:16.600 --> 42:19.000
Hey, they're preaching salvation by faith alone.

42:19.000 --> 42:20.680
And so there's some treasure there.

42:20.680 --> 42:23.320
And look, there's just some people that are just froward.

42:23.320 --> 42:26.160
There are some people that are just scorners and froward.

42:26.160 --> 42:29.320
And it does not matter how much good they have in their life.

42:29.320 --> 42:31.800
They just want to complain and whine and moan.

42:32.300 --> 42:34.140
And there's some people where they go.

42:34.140 --> 42:36.260
They go to a good old IFB church,

42:36.260 --> 42:38.300
but they're just a pain in the pastor's neck.

42:38.500 --> 42:44.460
They're complaining. They're not a blessing to the church. They're not going out soul-winning. They're not bringing people in as visitors

42:44.480 --> 42:50.140
They're not praying for their pastor. They're not being an encouragement to him. They're not saying amen

42:50.140 --> 42:51.660
They're not engaging in the sermon

42:51.660 --> 42:57.820
All they're doing is complaining about what he has wrong and then they think that their problems are to get fixed by coming to a

42:57.820 --> 42:59.820
New ife church, but they're the problem

43:00.800 --> 43:07.360
They're the person that's just an ungrateful jerk and they come in they come here and you're gonna find here another field a

43:07.920 --> 43:10.420
Different field that you don't like but you know I submit to you

43:10.420 --> 43:15.600
Why don't you just be a person that focuses on the treasure in the field go to Colossians chapter number one

43:16.520 --> 43:17.900
Colossians chapter number one

43:23.400 --> 43:25.400
Colossians 1 look at verse number 13

43:26.760 --> 43:27.920
Speaking of Jesus here

43:27.920 --> 43:35.080
It says who hath delivered us from the power of darkness and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear son

43:35.400 --> 43:39.920
In whom we have redemption through his blood even the forgiveness of sins

43:40.080 --> 43:44.640
Who is the image of the invisible God the firstborn of every creature?

43:45.600 --> 43:51.600
For by Him were all things created that are in heaven and that are in earth visible and

43:51.600 --> 43:58.080
invisible, whether they be thrones or dominions or principalities or powers, all things were

43:58.080 --> 44:01.000
created by Him and for Him.

44:01.000 --> 44:05.480
And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.

44:05.480 --> 44:09.960
Notice this, and He is the head of the body, the church.

44:10.400 --> 44:17.380
Who is the beginning the firstborn from the dead that in all things he might have the preeminence

44:18.120 --> 44:25.020
You know whatever field you want to pick a part in your church where you go to whether that's anchor Baptist Church or someone

44:25.020 --> 44:31.520
Listening online, you know if you've got a church where Jesus Christ is the head of the church then you have treasure in your church

44:32.100 --> 44:34.480
because there are a lot of churches in this world

44:34.480 --> 44:36.720
that are not going to look to the Bible

44:36.720 --> 44:39.280
and submit to the Bible as the final authority,

44:39.280 --> 44:42.420
they are going to look to a council of elders,

44:42.420 --> 44:46.080
a council of deacons, some denominational hierarchy.

44:46.080 --> 44:49.100
How about the pope of the Catholic Church?

44:49.100 --> 44:50.120
And it's like, let me tell you,

44:50.120 --> 44:51.460
if you're going to the Catholic Church,

44:51.460 --> 44:53.160
there's no treasure in that field.

44:53.300 --> 44:59.760
There's no treasure whatsoever. And so it's like people going to a saved Baptist Church with a saved pastor

45:00.120 --> 45:04.920
King James only soul winning preaching doctrine from the King James Bible

45:04.920 --> 45:10.460
You know what that is something to be thankful for and to not take lightly and to not take for granted

45:11.000 --> 45:17.120
And it's funny like what is the difference in life between some people who read the Word of God?

45:17.900 --> 45:22.380
who listen to preaching, who go out and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, and there are

45:22.380 --> 45:27.420
some people in this world that are willing to sell all that they have, leave their career,

45:27.420 --> 45:32.100
leave their family, leave their hometown to go to a great church.

45:32.100 --> 45:35.300
Then there's people where a great church is just spoon-fed to them.

45:35.300 --> 45:40.580
They grow up in a great church or one just happens to be in their geographical area and

45:40.580 --> 45:42.060
they just treat it lightly.

45:42.060 --> 45:43.060
What's the difference?

45:43.060 --> 45:43.380
Someone's heart.

45:43.900 --> 45:47.240
One person is focusing on the treasure in the field,

45:47.240 --> 45:49.920
the other person, all they can see is all the problems,

45:49.920 --> 45:53.040
but by doing that, you miss out on the treasure.

45:53.040 --> 45:55.500
You know, if someone just looks at a field

45:55.500 --> 45:57.720
from a superficial level in Oklahoma.

45:58.200 --> 45:59.560
Would you see the oil?

45:59.560 --> 46:00.560
Likely not.

46:00.560 --> 46:03.040
I know sometimes it bubbles to the surface, I get that.

46:03.040 --> 46:07.080
But a lot of times the oil's way down deep and you never know it's there until you actually

46:07.080 --> 46:08.080
look for it.

46:08.080 --> 46:11.120
And it's like some people, that's how they go through life, is they're just looking on

46:11.120 --> 46:15.280
the superficial that is like, oh, strip mall, no, I'm good.

46:15.280 --> 46:17.720
You know, oh, you guys, you know, aren't renowned or super big.

46:17.720 --> 46:18.720
No, I'm good.

46:18.720 --> 46:21.980
Where it's like, well, you should be looking for is the treasure, the King James Bible,

46:21.980 --> 46:23.920
the doctrine that's being preached.

46:23.920 --> 46:26.160
out and winning souls to Jesus Christ.

46:26.200 --> 46:27.880
doing something for the Lord.

46:27.880 --> 46:29.800
Go to Ephesians chapter four.

46:29.800 --> 46:31.660
Ephesians chapter number four.

46:33.800 --> 46:38.680
Ephesians chapter number four look at verse 11

46:39.460 --> 46:42.220
the Bible says and he that's God and

46:42.980 --> 46:48.640
He gave some apostles and some prophets and some

46:49.220 --> 46:51.680
evangelists and some pastors

46:52.300 --> 46:54.300
Teachers, you know the Bible says that

46:55.020 --> 47:01.820
Ministers are something that is given by God and it's not something that every single person in this world has

47:02.020 --> 47:06.820
What's the purpose it says verse 12 for the perfecting of the Saints for the work of the ministry?

47:07.300 --> 47:09.940
for the edifying of the body of Christ

47:10.600 --> 47:15.380
Till we all come in the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God unto

47:15.380 --> 47:22.000
a perfect man unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.

47:22.400 --> 47:27.600
Look, there's there's people every single week that message me on Instagram or email me

47:28.160 --> 47:31.280
Trying to see hey, can you can you send someone to start a church here?

47:31.360 --> 47:33.360
Can you send someone to start a church there?

47:33.520 --> 47:36.400
And it's like look i'm not claiming to be anything special

47:36.560 --> 47:40.160
But I am a safe pastor and according to the bible, that's at least something

47:40.640 --> 47:42.720
Right, and that's something that we should not take for granted

47:42.720 --> 47:48.420
I don't think anyone here is but you know, there's some people in this world that do take those things for granted

47:48.900 --> 47:55.220
There are people I've seen go to great churches like steadfast Baptist Church with a great man of God pastor Shelley

47:55.220 --> 48:01.040
And I've seen people you know just despise him and not you know be thankful for the work that he's putting in

48:01.040 --> 48:03.220
I mean look at look at our friend pastor Stephen Anderson

48:04.320 --> 48:11.180
Arguably one of the greatest pastors alive today. I would say yeah, probably probably the greatest pastor alive today, and how many fools

48:12.000 --> 48:18.960
Have we seen just take that for granted, despise it, turn their back on Him, not take advantage

48:18.960 --> 48:21.160
of that great, you know what, gift of God.

48:21.160 --> 48:24.020
Yeah, I'll go ahead and say it, it's a gift of God.

48:24.020 --> 48:27.040
And people like to make fun of Pastor Shelley for saying that, but doesn't the Bible say

48:27.040 --> 48:31.420
right here that ministers are given by God?

48:31.420 --> 48:33.280
And not everyone has a good pastor.

48:33.600 --> 48:36.900
And there are some people where they have a decent pastor,

48:36.900 --> 48:38.740
a pretty good pastor, and all they want to do

48:38.740 --> 48:41.260
is pick him apart, criticize him,

48:41.260 --> 48:43.100
complain about everything that he's not,

48:43.100 --> 48:44.280
instead of saying, hey, you know what,

48:44.280 --> 48:46.180
there's some treasure in my pastor,

48:46.180 --> 48:48.520
and thank God my pastor's King James only,

48:48.520 --> 48:50.420
and thank God my pastor's putting in the work,

48:50.420 --> 48:52.860
trying his best, trying to do what's right for the church,

48:52.860 --> 48:54.380
trying to lead us in the right way.

48:54.380 --> 48:56.060
You know, there's some people that take advantage of that,

48:56.060 --> 48:57.700
and there's some people that are thankful for that.

48:57.800 --> 49:02.600
And it's not a difference of, you know, who's the greatest pastor, because even if you have the greatest pastor,

49:02.600 --> 49:07.300
there's still people that want to criticize and complain and whine and moan.

49:07.300 --> 49:10.000
You know what? This is just not the attitude that we should have.

49:10.300 --> 49:14.460
Because if you're if you're unhappy in a good church, I submit to you

49:14.460 --> 49:19.340
You'll still be unhappy in a great church because the problem is not the good church or the great church

49:19.340 --> 49:21.500
The problem is the person themselves

49:21.980 --> 49:27.500
That's the issue is a heart that does not want to focus on the treasure rather. You just want to focus on

49:28.060 --> 49:31.260
The field go if you would to song of solomon chapter number five

49:32.060 --> 49:36.320
Song of solomon chapter number five and look, I don't think we have any issue with that here

49:36.600 --> 49:38.840
But you know these are just good reminders.

49:38.840 --> 49:39.680
You know every once in a while,

49:39.680 --> 49:41.800
if I do something to piss you off,

49:41.800 --> 49:44.100
you're like, man, Pastor Oz has a field.

49:44.100 --> 49:47.060
You could have had Salvador.

49:47.060 --> 49:50.140
You could have had Pastor who, right?

49:50.140 --> 49:51.520
And again, I'm not saying anyone's complaining

49:51.520 --> 49:53.800
or being like that, but hey, just remind yourself of that.

49:53.800 --> 49:55.360
Oh, Pastor Oz has a field.

49:55.360 --> 49:56.560
Yeah, you know what though?

49:56.560 --> 49:58.940
I'm not Salvador, so just remember that.

49:58.940 --> 49:59.780
All right.

49:59.780 --> 50:02.780
Number two, look for the treasure.

50:04.100 --> 50:05.300
in your spouse.

50:05.500 --> 50:12.900
Look for the treasure in your spouse now look when you first get married you don't have to look for the treasure right we've heard of

50:12.940 --> 50:19.860
The honeymoon phase and if you're married you've gone through the honeymoon phase where everything your spouse does is wonderful

50:19.900 --> 50:26.000
And great, and you just get along and you guys are just so in love and just everything is sunshine and rainbows

50:26.100 --> 50:31.300
But you know what I submit to you after a while of living with someone you might have to look for the treasure a little

50:31.300 --> 50:33.500
Bit and that's okay, right why because?

50:33.500 --> 50:36.020
Because you know what, your spouse has a field.

50:36.020 --> 50:39.180
And you have a field that your spouse has to deal with.

50:39.180 --> 50:40.620
But here's the thing, you could be the person

50:40.620 --> 50:44.100
that just focuses on the field and complain and whine

50:44.100 --> 50:46.820
and be unhappy and discontented in your marriage.

50:46.820 --> 50:48.180
Or you could say, hey, you know what,

50:48.180 --> 50:49.900
there's treasure in my spouse.

50:49.900 --> 50:51.300
And I should thank God for that treasure

50:51.300 --> 50:53.460
and I could focus on that treasure.

50:53.460 --> 50:56.260
Look at Song of Solomon chapter number five, verse 10.

50:57.140 --> 50:58.740
It says, my beloved is white.

50:58.800 --> 51:01.440
And Ruddy, Jaz, this is talking about me right here, right?

51:01.440 --> 51:02.440
Keep this in mind.

51:02.440 --> 51:07.720
My beloved is white and Ruddy, the chiefest among 10,000.

51:07.720 --> 51:09.280
Notice the attitude that the wife here

51:09.280 --> 51:10.680
has towards her husband.

51:10.680 --> 51:14.520
And she's saying, ugh, he doesn't put away his dirty clothes.

51:14.520 --> 51:17.160
Ugh, he doesn't put the toilet seat down.

51:17.160 --> 51:18.920
Ugh, he doesn't make enough money.

51:18.920 --> 51:21.000
She's like, you know what, man, he's white.

51:21.000 --> 51:22.600
And he's Ruddy.

51:22.600 --> 51:25.000
And he's the chiefest among 10,000.

51:25.000 --> 51:25.200
you

51:25.800 --> 51:31.320
So among 10,000 men right in her mind she's saying my husband is the best

51:31.840 --> 51:35.800
Among 10, you know, give me 10,000 other dudes. That's the best guy right there

51:36.320 --> 51:44.560
His head is as the most fine golds. He's blonde his locks are bushy and black. Oh, that's gone there as a raven

51:45.000 --> 51:48.360
His eyes are as the eyes of doves by the rivers of waters,

51:48.360 --> 51:54.760
lost with milk and fitly set. His cheeks are as bed of spices as sweet flowers.

51:54.760 --> 51:58.520
His lips like lilies dropping sweet smelling myrrh.

51:59.000 --> 52:03.000
His hands are as gold rings set with the barrel.

52:03.000 --> 52:07.600
His belly is as bright ivory overlaid with sapphires.

52:07.600 --> 52:13.600
His legs are as pillars of marble set upon sockets of fine gold.

52:13.600 --> 52:17.600
His countenance is as Lebanon, excellent as the cedars.

52:17.600 --> 52:19.400
His mouth is most sweet.

52:19.400 --> 52:20.500
Notice this, yay.

52:20.500 --> 52:23.300
He is altogether lovely.

52:23.600 --> 52:28.840
This is my beloved and this is my friend. Oh daughters of Jerusalem

52:29.080 --> 52:35.660
Notice that when the wife just kind of sets back and just looks at the big picture of her husband

52:35.660 --> 52:37.860
She says you know what he is just all together

52:38.460 --> 52:43.360
Lovely now does that mean that Solomon was a sinless man? No

52:44.000 --> 52:46.160
Did Solomon have a field?

52:46.160 --> 52:48.440
Yes, Solomon had some issues.

52:48.440 --> 52:50.640
And you know what, every single husband in this room

52:50.640 --> 52:55.000
has a field, has an issue, has problems, has sin.

52:55.000 --> 52:56.560
But you know what a smart wife would do?

52:56.560 --> 53:00.040
She would look back in the big picture of her life

53:00.040 --> 53:02.000
and in the big picture of her husband

53:02.000 --> 53:04.480
and she's not gonna look at him with a magnifying glass

53:04.480 --> 53:07.400
and find all of his problems, find all of his faults.

53:07.400 --> 53:10.480
She says, you know what, he's just altogether lovely.

53:11.100 --> 53:12.100
You know what that is?

53:12.100 --> 53:14.600
That's a woman that instead of focusing on the field,

53:14.600 --> 53:16.700
is gonna focus on the treasure.

53:16.700 --> 53:18.300
Because if you have treasure in your field,

53:18.300 --> 53:20.140
you're gonna say, yeah, there's black widows,

53:20.140 --> 53:23.540
there's snakes, there's bushes, there's some trash,

53:23.540 --> 53:24.940
there's some problems, but you know what?

53:24.940 --> 53:26.740
There's treasure in that field.

53:26.740 --> 53:28.820
And so I like the field overall.

53:28.820 --> 53:30.820
I want the whole field because of the fact

53:30.820 --> 53:33.180
that it has treasure in your field.

53:33.180 --> 53:34.120
And you know what, ladies?

53:34.120 --> 53:38.260
You'd be a happier person than rather nagging your husband.

53:38.500 --> 53:41.100
into fixing all the issues in his field

53:41.100 --> 53:42.420
is just, why don't you just praise him

53:42.420 --> 53:44.420
for the treasure that's in his field.

53:44.420 --> 53:46.300
Have you noticed that nagging has never worked

53:46.300 --> 53:48.540
one time in your life?

53:48.540 --> 53:50.860
Do you realize that if nagging worked,

53:50.860 --> 53:53.140
that all marriages would be perfect by now?

53:53.140 --> 53:54.700
Because every woman does this?

53:55.100 --> 53:58.260
It's not gonna work. This is not a nagging wife right here

53:58.260 --> 54:03.280
This is a wife that's praising her husband, which you better believe men crave respect

54:03.460 --> 54:09.900
They crave that adoration from their spouse from their wife and you know what this wife is wise for doing so

54:10.460 --> 54:16.460
Good to Proverbs chapter number 18 Proverbs chapter number 18. You know, it's the exact same thing for men

54:17.900 --> 54:21.740
It's such an ugly thing to see a man complaining about his wife.

54:21.740 --> 54:28.940
It's such a pathetic, gross thing to hear of a man just trash talking his wife, putting her down,

54:28.940 --> 54:33.980
you know, making fun of her to his friends or stuff like that, or talking about other women at the

54:33.980 --> 54:39.020
job site with the bros. You know, that's a wicked attitude. Here's what the Bible says, Proverbs 18,

54:39.020 --> 54:43.820
verse 22, who so findeth a wife, findeth a good thing.

54:44.600 --> 54:48.300
Obtaineth favor of the Lord. Hey, you know what?

54:48.300 --> 54:55.620
There's treasure in that field there and the Bible says if you found a wife you found a good thing and you've obtained favor from God

54:55.620 --> 54:57.380
Almighty, you know what?

54:57.380 --> 55:03.140
This should be a good reminder for you men that lately if you've been a little upset with some things that your wife has done

55:03.480 --> 55:07.460
You're a little bit bitter at her not every single thing that she does in life

55:07.500 --> 55:11.900
You're just you know, 100% jazzed about but you know what? Let me ask you. Is there treasure in the field though?

55:12.900 --> 55:16.400
Let me ask you this, did she birth and raise your children?

55:16.400 --> 55:18.080
Does she cook you food?

55:18.080 --> 55:19.360
Does she clean your home?

55:19.360 --> 55:22.140
Does she educate your child and nurture them

55:22.140 --> 55:24.460
and bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord?

55:24.460 --> 55:26.140
Does she teach them the Bible?

55:26.140 --> 55:28.000
Is she doing the memory verse with them?

55:28.000 --> 55:29.300
Is she loving your kids?

55:29.300 --> 55:30.460
Is she loving you?

55:30.460 --> 55:32.860
Well then shut up about your complaints.

55:32.860 --> 55:34.680
Because there's a lot of guys in this world

55:34.680 --> 55:38.140
that have nowhere close to the caliber of wives

55:38.140 --> 55:39.100
that are in this room.

55:39.500 --> 55:45.220
Your wife is going to anchor Baptist Church and your wife is reading the King James Bible and your wife is a sole winner

55:45.220 --> 55:47.260
For Jesus Christ. Let me tell you something

55:47.260 --> 55:50.740
You found a good thing and you have obtained favor of the Lord

55:50.740 --> 55:56.740
You know you would be such a wicked person to complain about the field when you have so much treasure in your wife

55:57.460 --> 55:59.460
Go to Proverbs 31

55:59.660 --> 56:01.660
Proverbs chapter 31

56:01.940 --> 56:03.500
Look at verse number 10

56:03.700 --> 56:09.880
Who can find a virtuous woman notice for her price is far above rubies

56:10.260 --> 56:12.260
Look rubies are super expensive

56:12.820 --> 56:20.900
There are rubies you could find that are literally just hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars and the Bible says that a virtuous woman

56:21.140 --> 56:26.260
She's rare who could find her but you know what the reason she's so valuable is because she's rare

56:26.260 --> 56:30.220
And if you have that virtuous woman, man, you better realize you have a special treasure

56:30.800 --> 56:37.960
Her price her value is far above rubies far above even just monetary value. You know what you should appreciate

56:38.640 --> 56:40.400
your wife

56:40.400 --> 56:43.960
You say your wife has a field okay, but she's also the mother of your children

56:44.760 --> 56:48.160
She also cooks you great meals. She also loves you

56:48.760 --> 56:54.720
For you right? I don't think there's any rich dudes in here if your wife loves you. She actually loves you for you

56:55.200 --> 56:59.360
You know, a lot of people grow up and they like want to be a celebrity. They want to be famous

56:59.840 --> 57:04.640
But i've heard a lot of these people talking about like they they struggle with the idea of dating or finding a girl

57:04.880 --> 57:07.120
Because there's so many people that just want them for their money

57:07.600 --> 57:14.320
And it's like here's here's what's awesome about getting married when I was 21 and jasmine was 18 is I had absolutely nothing

57:14.640 --> 57:17.540
And the only reason that she liked me was for me

57:17.800 --> 57:20.600
I had no money, I wasn't a pastor,

57:20.600 --> 57:22.100
none of those things whatsoever.

57:22.100 --> 57:23.900
She actually just likes me.

57:23.900 --> 57:24.980
And that's crazy.

57:24.980 --> 57:27.580
And so look, that's a great treasure to me

57:27.580 --> 57:28.780
that I should appreciate.

57:28.780 --> 57:31.900
And it's like, look, oh, my husband's not perfect.

57:31.900 --> 57:34.620
He doesn't make as much money as so-and-so.

57:34.620 --> 57:36.800
Shut up and appreciate the treasure that you have.

57:37.400 --> 57:43.200
Does your husband live every stupid day of his life sleep-deprived to take care of you and to love you and

57:43.320 --> 57:47.800
to pay for you and your children and does he go out and work his tail off and

57:48.200 --> 57:52.480
Sacrifice pleasures for himself so that you and the children can be blessed

57:52.480 --> 57:58.500
Then let me tell you something you have treasure in your field and you should appreciate that go to Ephesians chapter number six

57:59.360 --> 58:03.580
Ephesians chapter six number three look for the treasure in your children

58:04.200 --> 58:07.680
Man, the way some people talk about their kids makes me so sad.

58:07.680 --> 58:12.960
Like, there's some people that all they do is criticize their children.

58:12.960 --> 58:14.840
All they do is look down on them.

58:14.840 --> 58:16.840
All they do is act like they're a burden.

58:16.840 --> 58:21.080
All they do is act like it was the worst thing that ever happened to them to have kids.

58:21.080 --> 58:22.080
And guess what?

58:22.080 --> 58:25.720
Some people, they have kids and then they snip or then they get a surgery or then they

58:25.720 --> 58:29.360
prevent themselves from having more just because they hated it so much.

58:29.360 --> 58:30.360
You know what?

58:30.700 --> 58:32.460
If you have kids, let me tell you something.

58:32.460 --> 58:33.540
Do kids have problems?

58:33.540 --> 58:36.100
Yes, foolishness is bound in the heart of a child,

58:36.100 --> 58:38.540
but you have treasure in your field.

58:38.540 --> 58:40.040
Number one, there's some people

58:40.040 --> 58:42.100
that can't have kids that want them.

58:42.100 --> 58:44.340
Number two, you know, your kids are growing up

58:44.340 --> 58:46.680
as Christians in a great church

58:46.680 --> 58:48.840
and are way better than the kids in this world.

58:48.840 --> 58:50.980
How do I know that goes soul winning?

58:50.980 --> 58:53.920
And you know, we have treasure in our field today as parents.

58:53.920 --> 58:56.120
Look what the Bible says, Ephesians 6 verse one.

58:56.400 --> 59:00.680
Children obey your parents and the Lord for this is right honor thy father and mother

59:01.120 --> 59:05.720
Which is the first commandment with promise that it may be well with thee and thou mayst live

59:06.120 --> 59:09.700
Long on the earth. So what's the commandment to the children obey?

59:10.520 --> 59:12.920
honor respect do what they say

59:13.760 --> 59:15.880
Verse 4 and ye fathers

59:16.680 --> 59:19.220
Notice provoke not your children to wrath

59:20.100 --> 59:25.100
but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

59:25.100 --> 59:29.100
Raising children, the Bible points out, we need both of these things

59:29.100 --> 59:33.100
and the Bible does not give us a ton of specifics.

59:33.100 --> 59:39.100
In marriage and in child rearing, the Bible actually does not give a ton of instruction,

59:39.100 --> 59:42.100
but rather the Bible gives us guiding principles.

59:42.600 --> 59:49.880
That's the guiding principle in marriage wives obey your husbands submit unto them husbands. Love your wives

59:50.080 --> 59:53.900
What does the Bible tell parents to do to discipline our children?

59:54.080 --> 01:00:00.800
To give them the rod to spank them to give them correction and it says this to raise them in the nurture and

01:00:01.680 --> 01:00:07.200
Admonition of the Lord. What's admonition? Hey telling them. Hey, you're wrong on this. This is how you do things, right?

01:00:07.240 --> 01:00:10.600
Let me correct this, you know discipline is an important

01:00:10.600 --> 01:00:12.440
part of child rearing, but you know what?

01:00:12.440 --> 01:00:16.040
That also needs to be balanced with love.

01:00:16.040 --> 01:00:17.880
And look, it's not that spanking isn't loving,

01:00:17.880 --> 01:00:19.640
it is loving, but I'm saying there needs to be

01:00:19.640 --> 01:00:23.180
also some nurture coming from us as parents as well.

01:00:23.180 --> 01:00:25.040
Provoking your children under wrath.

01:00:25.040 --> 01:00:28.140
You know, we've all heard those adults that grow up

01:00:28.140 --> 01:00:31.520
super just emotionally unstable because they have

01:00:31.520 --> 01:00:34.400
daddy issues, because it's like dad never said

01:00:34.400 --> 01:00:35.400
that they love them.

01:00:35.500 --> 01:00:38.700
Or were proud of them? Dad never spent any time?

01:00:38.700 --> 01:00:41.900
Dad always viewed them as a burden or something to be cast away?

01:00:41.900 --> 01:00:49.580
Or didn't like them? Or mom was just angry and just, you know, screaming and just over the top and just not loving to them?

01:00:49.580 --> 01:00:52.780
You know, that should not be the way that a Christian home is.

01:00:53.300 --> 01:00:55.940
Not saying that there's never a time to blow your top.

01:00:55.940 --> 01:00:58.140
Not saying not to spank your kids.

01:00:58.140 --> 01:01:01.480
But what I'm saying is that from the depths of your heart,

01:01:01.480 --> 01:01:04.100
you should just have so much love for your children.

01:01:04.100 --> 01:01:05.980
I can't give this to someone.

01:01:05.980 --> 01:01:07.860
I don't understand how people don't have this.

01:01:07.860 --> 01:01:09.540
To me, it's just natural.

01:01:09.540 --> 01:01:10.540
But it's like you should just have

01:01:10.540 --> 01:01:12.540
so much love for your children.

01:01:12.540 --> 01:01:15.540
You should prioritize spending time with them.

01:01:15.540 --> 01:01:18.160
You should tell them, I love you.

01:01:18.400 --> 01:01:22.800
You should give your kids hugs and affection and kisses and all these things

01:01:22.800 --> 01:01:27.040
because of the fact that we're supposed to raise them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

01:01:27.400 --> 01:01:32.200
Look, I discipline my children and when they do wrong, I will give them spankings.

01:01:32.200 --> 01:01:37.000
I will give them hard punishments when they deserve it, but my kids know that I love them

01:01:37.000 --> 01:01:38.000
very much.

01:01:38.000 --> 01:01:44.020
And I pray for my kids every single day and I am painfully aware at how fast time is going

01:01:44.020 --> 01:01:45.020
by.

01:01:45.020 --> 01:01:48.800
Any other parent is painfully aware of how fast time is going by.

01:01:48.800 --> 01:01:53.680
And I'm just like, wow, this number of summers until this person is an adult, I'm just like...

01:01:54.000 --> 01:01:59.360
That's crazy to me. But you know, I'm a busy person. I'm a full-time pastor

01:01:59.360 --> 01:02:04.360
I work a full-time secular job, but you know what I have to be careful myself not to just

01:02:04.880 --> 01:02:10.300
Neglect my kids and not spend time with them and not show them that love because of the fact that I want to make sure

01:02:10.720 --> 01:02:16.760
That my kids are being raised in the nurture and admonition of the Lord go if you would to Proverbs chapter number 17

01:02:17.400 --> 01:02:22.960
But look, I just, I think it's gross when all you ever hear from parents is just negative

01:02:22.960 --> 01:02:25.160
towards their children.

01:02:25.160 --> 01:02:29.600
All you ever hear is just, you're terrible, you can never do anything right, you're this,

01:02:29.600 --> 01:02:30.600
you're that.

01:02:30.600 --> 01:02:31.600
You know what?

01:02:31.600 --> 01:02:33.200
That is going to break your child's spirit eventually.

01:02:33.600 --> 01:02:37.920
And one thing I love about having young kids and one thing I'm cherishing because I know

01:02:37.920 --> 01:02:42.880
I've seen it that's not gonna last forever is like all of my kids I have all their hearts they love

01:02:42.880 --> 01:02:47.440
me so much they want to spend time with me they want to go to the grocery store with me we all

01:02:47.440 --> 01:02:51.920
know though as teenagers that usually changes for some kids right or they want to back up a little

01:02:51.920 --> 01:02:57.200
bit it's like I know that day may come but like right now I'm trying to hold on to that as much

01:02:57.200 --> 01:02:59.440
as possible look what the bible says in proverbs 17

01:03:00.100 --> 01:03:05.100
Verse 22, a merry heart doeth good like a medicine,

01:03:05.100 --> 01:03:09.540
but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

01:03:09.540 --> 01:03:11.540
We need to be careful as parents

01:03:11.540 --> 01:03:15.220
not to break our children's spirit, right?

01:03:15.220 --> 01:03:16.300
Because the Bible says, hey,

01:03:16.300 --> 01:03:19.200
a merry heart doeth good like a medicine.

01:03:19.400 --> 01:03:22.700
Being cheerful is good for your physical health.

01:03:22.700 --> 01:03:24.200
It's good for your emotional well-being.

01:03:24.200 --> 01:03:26.600
It's good for your spiritual well-being to be happy.

01:03:26.600 --> 01:03:31.400
But notice a broken spirit, man, it just dries the bones.

01:03:31.400 --> 01:03:36.400
And I would hate to be a parent that's given this great treasure by God.

01:03:36.800 --> 01:03:45.540
This great gift by God, and it's just all I ever do is criticize and beat down and speak down to and be negative to and be angry at.

01:03:45.540 --> 01:03:47.540
You know, that's a that's the wrong way to parent.

01:03:47.540 --> 01:03:50.640
That's not the right attitude to have.

01:03:50.640 --> 01:03:55.140
Make sure you're not you're not someone who's just always angry at your children.

01:03:55.140 --> 01:04:02.400
And you know what? A lot of reasons why people are just always angry at their children is because they're not spanking biblically.

01:04:02.900 --> 01:04:05.460
Some people are like, oh, I don't want to spank my kids

01:04:05.460 --> 01:04:07.820
because that's child abuse.

01:04:07.820 --> 01:04:09.780
That's going to break their spirit.

01:04:09.780 --> 01:04:10.780
No, no, no.

01:04:10.780 --> 01:04:12.880
What's better is just there's a problem.

01:04:12.880 --> 01:04:16.220
You spank them, you hug them, and you move on with your life,

01:04:16.220 --> 01:04:17.680
and they love you, and you love them,

01:04:17.680 --> 01:04:19.680
rather than you're just holding on to bitterness

01:04:19.680 --> 01:04:20.660
against your kids.

01:04:20.660 --> 01:04:23.300
And just day after day, you're angry at your children.

01:04:23.300 --> 01:04:25.560
And day after day, you're screaming at them

01:04:25.560 --> 01:04:28.280
and just yelling at the top of your lungs and being angry.

01:04:28.280 --> 01:04:29.380
How is that?

01:04:29.380 --> 01:04:30.800
How is that more loving?

01:04:30.900 --> 01:04:33.700
Then just oh you sinned spanking move on

01:04:34.740 --> 01:04:39.140
That's the reason a lot of parents have this constant anger go if you would to proverbs chapter number 29

01:04:39.540 --> 01:04:41.540
Let me prove this biblically

01:04:43.140 --> 01:04:51.240
Proverbs 29 verse 17 notice this correct thy son and he shall give thee rest

01:04:52.100 --> 01:04:55.500
Yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.

01:04:55.500 --> 01:04:57.640
Now this is what the Bible says,

01:04:57.640 --> 01:04:59.560
that if you correct your son,

01:04:59.560 --> 01:05:01.900
he's gonna give you rest.

01:05:01.900 --> 01:05:04.940
He's gonna give you delight unto your soul.

01:05:04.940 --> 01:05:08.480
Let me especially talk about young kids, right?

01:05:08.480 --> 01:05:10.180
Because I've never raised teenagers,

01:05:10.180 --> 01:05:11.540
I've never had adult kids,

01:05:11.540 --> 01:05:14.280
and I realize that adult kids out of the house,

01:05:14.280 --> 01:05:15.660
man, they've got free will,

01:05:15.660 --> 01:05:18.320
they've got their own thing going on, right?

01:05:18.500 --> 01:05:23.940
But I submit to you that toddlers will behave the exact level that you allow them to behave.

01:05:24.900 --> 01:05:29.940
And if you just have a kid and it's just like this kid just never gives me rest, I'm always angry,

01:05:29.940 --> 01:05:34.340
I'm always upset at this person, I'm always just screaming at them, you know, chances are you're

01:05:34.340 --> 01:05:39.940
probably not correcting the way that you should. Because, you know, I've been around church people

01:05:39.940 --> 01:05:45.940
for well over a decade and, you know, I've seen some pretty ridiculous spankings.

01:05:46.600 --> 01:05:54.000
I've heard the the tap for the six-year-old, you know, the six-year-old that's getting taps like this. It's like look give them the rod

01:05:54.600 --> 01:06:02.440
Give them correction give them spanking that the Bible says thou shalt beat him with the rod and shalt deliver his soul from hell

01:06:02.720 --> 01:06:08.600
Okay, the Bible says hey that it's a it's actually a hateful thing to withhold correction from your son

01:06:08.600 --> 01:06:11.620
You know, I'm for giving kids real spankings

01:06:12.400 --> 01:06:15.400
My kids get real spankings, but here's the thing.

01:06:15.400 --> 01:06:17.900
The spanking is like, okay, we're upset about an issue,

01:06:17.900 --> 01:06:21.400
and in one moment we're fixing it, and then we're happy.

01:06:21.800 --> 01:06:26.080
Then, we have love, we have joy, there's no bitterness, there's no anger.

01:06:26.080 --> 01:06:29.480
And look, these things take time, it takes consistency.

01:06:29.480 --> 01:06:33.080
It's not, well I spanked my toddler one time and then they're fixed.

01:06:33.080 --> 01:06:35.160
No, this can take some time.

01:06:35.160 --> 01:06:38.920
But there's some people where it's just like, you know, you're five-year-old, you're six-year-old,

01:06:38.920 --> 01:06:42.600
you're seven-year-old, still just obeys nothing that you say.

01:06:42.600 --> 01:06:46.060
You know, they run out to the road, you calling to them doesn't stop them in their tracks.

01:06:46.060 --> 01:06:49.800
You know, I believe that's a failure to discipline properly at that.

01:06:49.800 --> 01:06:54.280
age. I get it, kids are older, they do their own thing, but it's like you can control a

01:06:54.280 --> 01:07:01.160
toddler. I think God has enabled adults to control a toddler. Go to Proverbs 1.27, or

01:07:01.160 --> 01:07:08.480
I'm sorry, Psalm 127. If you have Proverbs 127, let me know. Psalm 127.

01:07:13.400 --> 01:07:20.640
Look what the Bible says in verse 3, lo, children are an heritage of the Lord, and the fruit

01:07:20.640 --> 01:07:22.680
of the womb is His reward.

01:07:22.680 --> 01:07:26.320
As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man, so are children of the youth.

01:07:26.320 --> 01:07:30.880
Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them.

01:07:30.880 --> 01:07:35.560
They shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

01:07:35.560 --> 01:07:39.960
Every once in a while you should remind yourself, hey, these children are a gift from God.

01:07:40.300 --> 01:07:45.500
It's a heritage of the Lord. It's a great treasure that God has given me

01:07:45.500 --> 01:07:49.140
And you know what the Bible says a normal person is happy

01:07:49.660 --> 01:07:53.980
When his when his quiver is full of them, so look if you're not happy

01:07:54.600 --> 01:07:58.400
By the fact that you're having children will number one I would ask you are you correcting your son?

01:07:58.560 --> 01:08:03.840
Because the Bible says correct thy son and he shall give thee rest that you'll have delight unto your soul

01:08:03.840 --> 01:08:06.800
And if you're still not happy then there's probably just you have a heart problem

01:08:06.800 --> 01:08:10.920
I don't know you need to get on your face and ask God to renew your heart or something to be filled with the Holy

01:08:10.920 --> 01:08:12.920
Spirit, but you know it is not a normal attitude

01:08:13.600 --> 01:08:15.680
To have children given to you by God

01:08:16.200 --> 01:08:20.480
these wonderful blessings, this great treasure that God has given to us

01:08:20.480 --> 01:08:24.240
and you're just constantly just angry and bitter and not happy about having

01:08:24.240 --> 01:08:24.960
those kids

01:08:24.960 --> 01:08:28.800
you know you need to remind yourself every once in a while, yes, parenting is hard

01:08:28.800 --> 01:08:33.560
yes there's challenges, yes there's a field but there's also treasure in that field

01:08:33.560 --> 01:08:37.040
go to Proverbs chapter number 10 Proverbs

01:08:37.040 --> 01:08:38.200
chapter number 10

01:08:40.400 --> 01:08:46.120
It's like look I'll take the field of raising kids every day then to be job. I

01:08:46.840 --> 01:08:52.420
Mean, how'd you like just lose all your children, right? And it's like I think about that. Yeah, there's problems

01:08:52.420 --> 01:08:58.280
There's hardships, but it's like but but my kids are healthy and happy and it's like my kids are at the age where we're all

01:08:58.280 --> 01:09:01.700
Friends and love each other that may that may not last forever. I hope it does

01:09:01.700 --> 01:09:04.180
I pray that it does but man, I'm telling you right now

01:09:04.180 --> 01:09:08.000
There's treasure in my field and I would be a fool to waste these years

01:09:08.500 --> 01:09:12.540
You'd be a fool to waste these years because you know what there's only so many summers left

01:09:12.660 --> 01:09:17.300
There's only so much time left that we have with these kids that should be a sobering thought for all of us

01:09:18.380 --> 01:09:21.360
Number four look for the treasure in your career

01:09:21.880 --> 01:09:26.660
Look for the treasure in your career look at what Proverbs 10 verse 4 says he becomeeth poor

01:09:27.100 --> 01:09:29.580
That dealeth with a slack hand

01:09:30.200 --> 01:09:34.360
But, the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

01:09:34.360 --> 01:09:39.640
You know, maybe your field isn't the problem, maybe you're the problem.

01:09:39.640 --> 01:09:42.080
Maybe your work ethic is the problem.

01:09:42.080 --> 01:09:45.840
Maybe the attitude you show up to work with is the problem.

01:09:45.840 --> 01:09:49.960
Maybe your refusal to cooperate with anyone is your problem.

01:09:50.300 --> 01:09:53.900
There's a lot of people today that want to complain about their field.

01:09:53.900 --> 01:09:56.600
Isn't it funny how where you work is called the field, right?

01:09:56.600 --> 01:09:58.400
It's the field of work that you're in.

01:09:58.400 --> 01:10:01.300
But let me tell you something, I bet you there's some treasure in your field.

01:10:01.900 --> 01:10:05.600
If I wanted to nitpick, I could give you some things that I don't like about my job,

01:10:05.600 --> 01:10:07.300
because that's called work.

01:10:08.000 --> 01:10:10.300
There's not, you're not going to like everything about your job.

01:10:10.300 --> 01:10:13.900
But you know what? I am thankful to God for the jobs plural that I have.

01:10:14.200 --> 01:10:18.480
There's problems with both of them. There's a field in both of them, but you know what?

01:10:18.480 --> 01:10:21.100
I'm thankful to God for those things and here's what you should do

01:10:21.100 --> 01:10:24.540
You should go to work and you should focus on the treasure in your field

01:10:24.540 --> 01:10:26.140
And if you don't like it

01:10:26.140 --> 01:10:31.800
Well, then how about you be a diligent person and start working harder and then go to another field be a diligent person

01:10:31.800 --> 01:10:35.420
So you could see that field say hey, I'm gonna buy this field. I'll start working in this field

01:10:35.460 --> 01:10:41.080
There's nothing wrong with changing fields, but here's the thing look for the treasure in your field Proverbs 22

01:10:41.900 --> 01:10:44.060
Proverbs chapter number 22

01:10:46.420 --> 01:10:53.020
Verse 29 see is thou a man diligent in his business. He shall stand before Kings

01:10:53.600 --> 01:10:56.760
He shall not stand before mean men.

01:10:58.140 --> 01:11:01.720
So notice the person that advances in their career,

01:11:01.720 --> 01:11:03.880
where they're not amongst the average,

01:11:03.880 --> 01:11:05.840
they're actually standing before kings,

01:11:05.840 --> 01:11:08.360
they've got promoted, they've got advancement

01:11:08.360 --> 01:11:09.200
in their career.

01:11:09.200 --> 01:11:11.140
Notice what the Bible says about that person.

01:11:11.140 --> 01:11:11.980
He's what?

01:11:11.980 --> 01:11:14.640
Diligent in his business.

01:11:14.640 --> 01:11:15.760
You know what that means?

01:11:15.760 --> 01:11:17.720
That means that they were the type of person

01:11:17.720 --> 01:11:21.600
where they were willing to put up with some black widows.

01:11:21.800 --> 01:11:25.960
Some coyotes, some foxholes, some trash in the field,

01:11:25.960 --> 01:11:29.480
some spiky bushes, some dilapidated structures.

01:11:29.480 --> 01:11:33.360
They're willing to deal with that to get to the treasure.

01:11:33.360 --> 01:11:35.560
And it's like, how do you get to the treasure in your career?

01:11:35.560 --> 01:11:36.560
How do you advance?

01:11:36.560 --> 01:11:39.060
You do the things that other people don't want to do.

01:11:39.400 --> 01:11:45.160
Because here's what most people do in life and I think you knew have talked about this a lot a lot of people they just they

01:11:45.160 --> 01:11:52.280
Meet resistance and the moment they read meet resistance they quit and if you could be the type of person

01:11:52.440 --> 01:11:58.880
That is a problem solver where people go to you to figure out problems. Let me tell you a secret about my job

01:11:59.700 --> 01:12:04.700
Working in the field of computers and IT's in IT is that a lot of the questions I get asked

01:12:04.700 --> 01:12:08.820
I have no idea what the answer is no clue whatsoever

01:12:09.540 --> 01:12:13.580
But you know what I do. I use this awesome thing called the internet and

01:12:13.980 --> 01:12:18.720
Believe it or not. This is not an esoteric magical device that is only given to me

01:12:19.360 --> 01:12:25.460
Everybody has this but not everybody has the work ethic to find the answers to their questions

01:12:25.900 --> 01:12:29.540
And usually in my field, when I'm asked a question

01:12:29.540 --> 01:12:32.000
and I don't know, I usually can find the answer

01:12:32.000 --> 01:12:35.540
in 30 seconds, literally 30 seconds.

01:12:35.540 --> 01:12:37.820
But it's like why does this field exist?

01:12:37.820 --> 01:12:40.240
Because a lot of people are so lazy,

01:12:40.240 --> 01:12:42.880
they will not put in 30 seconds of work.

01:12:42.880 --> 01:12:45.140
And imagine more and more complex issues.

01:12:45.140 --> 01:12:47.580
Maybe it takes you a whole day to figure something out.

01:12:47.580 --> 01:12:48.880
You're a valuable person.

01:12:49.300 --> 01:12:53.300
What if it takes you a week or a month to fix a problem?

01:12:53.300 --> 01:12:55.780
You're a very valuable person.

01:12:55.780 --> 01:12:58.980
And look, if you want to stand before kings in your job,

01:12:58.980 --> 01:13:00.900
whatever field, be the person where you're like,

01:13:00.900 --> 01:13:02.740
hey, I will endure the snakes,

01:13:02.740 --> 01:13:04.260
I will endure the black widows,

01:13:04.260 --> 01:13:05.940
I will endure the foxholes,

01:13:05.940 --> 01:13:07.380
I will endure the trash,

01:13:07.380 --> 01:13:09.700
I will endure the dilapidated buildings

01:13:09.700 --> 01:13:11.140
to get to that treasure,

01:13:11.140 --> 01:13:13.620
because you don't even have to be good in this world,

01:13:13.620 --> 01:13:14.820
you just have to not quit.

01:13:15.400 --> 01:13:16.940
And if you want to excel in your career,

01:13:16.940 --> 01:13:18.480
you don't even have to be that smart,

01:13:18.480 --> 01:13:19.660
you don't have to be that skilled,

01:13:19.660 --> 01:13:20.820
you don't have to be that good,

01:13:20.820 --> 01:13:23.800
you just have to be someone who actually tries.

01:13:23.800 --> 01:13:26.080
And it's like there's this phenomenon

01:13:26.080 --> 01:13:28.480
where people think the expert bias,

01:13:28.480 --> 01:13:30.320
I may not be using the exact right word for that,

01:13:30.320 --> 01:13:31.280
but it's where you think like,

01:13:31.280 --> 01:13:34.500
man, experts in this field, they're just so great,

01:13:34.500 --> 01:13:35.660
they're so wonderful.

01:13:35.660 --> 01:13:38.480
Then you hire an attorney for the first time,

01:13:38.480 --> 01:13:41.580
and you're like, wow, this person is an idiot.

01:13:41.700 --> 01:13:43.420
You hire an attorney and you're like,

01:13:43.420 --> 01:13:45.760
I did all your job for you.

01:13:47.260 --> 01:13:49.100
And I just worked for Pastor Shelley.

01:13:49.100 --> 01:13:51.860
And I'm just like, I'm making all of the evidence

01:13:51.860 --> 01:13:52.940
and I'm writing everything up for you.

01:13:52.940 --> 01:13:56.300
And it's like, oh, the experts, right?

01:13:56.300 --> 01:13:58.300
You know, my brothers are both in the military.

01:13:58.300 --> 01:14:01.460
Oh yeah, special forces and Marines,

01:14:01.460 --> 01:14:03.300
man, they must be really good at shooting.

01:14:03.300 --> 01:14:05.380
My brother is high up in the military

01:14:05.380 --> 01:14:07.700
and he's just like, everyone sucks at shooting.

01:14:08.000 --> 01:14:13.240
You know you watch cop videos where they get into like a shootout with someone it's like female officer fires

01:14:13.560 --> 01:14:17.920
47 rounds hits no one and it's just like oh man the experts

01:14:17.920 --> 01:14:22.240
It's just like you could do a lot more than you give yourself credit for if you just try

01:14:22.240 --> 01:14:28.680
If you just try and you actually are serious about learning, you know, you could learn a lot of Bible if you actually try. Oh

01:14:30.080 --> 01:14:35.160
Someone's a pastor. They must know the Bible really really well. Have you ever visited other churches?

01:14:35.800 --> 01:14:39.640
There's a lot of people that are in the pastorate that don't even understand salvation.

01:14:39.640 --> 01:14:42.720
They're not even babes in Christ.

01:14:42.720 --> 01:14:46.320
They haven't even read their Bible cover to cover one single time.

01:14:46.320 --> 01:14:50.560
And it's like, look, just because someone's a pastor doesn't mean that they understand

01:14:50.560 --> 01:14:52.100
the Bible that well.

01:14:52.100 --> 01:14:55.640
And you, as a layman, you know, you could be better in knowledge than a lot of pastors

01:14:55.640 --> 01:14:57.320
in this world if you do this simple thing.

01:14:57.320 --> 01:14:57.640
Try.

01:14:58.400 --> 01:15:02.400
Try. Now a lot of people, they just focus on the field and say, well that's hard.

01:15:02.400 --> 01:15:06.400
That's hard to read the Bible cover to cover. Yeah it is hard, but you know what?

01:15:06.400 --> 01:15:10.400
There's treasure at the end of it. And here's the cool thing about the

01:15:10.400 --> 01:15:14.400
Word of God is that yeah, it's difficult. You put time into it, but every single

01:15:14.400 --> 01:15:17.800
time you read the Bible, you're getting more treasure every single time.

01:15:17.800 --> 01:15:20.800
It's just an inexhaustible field of treasure.

01:15:20.800 --> 01:15:23.100
It's just you bought that land in Oklahoma

01:15:23.100 --> 01:15:25.800
and it's just got quadrillions and quadrillions

01:15:25.800 --> 01:15:26.900
of gallons of oil.

01:15:26.900 --> 01:15:28.500
It'll just never ever run out.

01:15:28.500 --> 01:15:30.200
You know, that's what the word of God is like.

01:15:30.200 --> 01:15:31.500
But how do you get that treasure?

01:15:31.500 --> 01:15:33.100
You have to work at it.

01:15:33.100 --> 01:15:34.000
You have to actually pray,

01:15:34.000 --> 01:15:35.100
God, please give me understanding.

01:15:35.100 --> 01:15:37.900
God, please help me to see the treasure out of your word.

01:15:37.900 --> 01:15:40.400
Doesn't Psalm 119 say, Lord, it says,

01:15:40.400 --> 01:15:43.100
open my eyes that I may behold wondrous things

01:15:43.100 --> 01:15:44.500
out of thy law.

01:15:44.500 --> 01:15:45.500
That's treasure.

01:15:47.500 --> 01:15:51.500
Go to Colossians chapter three, Colossians chapter number three.

01:15:59.000 --> 01:16:04.000
Colossians 3 verse 22 servants obey in all things your masters according to the flesh

01:16:04.380 --> 01:16:08.840
not with eyes service as men pleasers but in singleness of heart fearing God and

01:16:09.520 --> 01:16:12.420
whatsoever you do do it heartily as

01:16:13.200 --> 01:16:16.280
To the Lord and not unto men

01:16:16.840 --> 01:16:23.860
Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance you that that's treasure right there for ye serve the Lord Christ

01:16:23.920 --> 01:16:25.920
Maybe you don't like your field

01:16:26.200 --> 01:16:28.080
Maybe you don't like your job.

01:16:28.080 --> 01:16:29.800
Maybe you don't like your boss.

01:16:29.800 --> 01:16:31.480
Maybe you don't like your coworkers.

01:16:31.480 --> 01:16:34.480
Maybe you don't like your tasks on a day-to-day basis.

01:16:34.480 --> 01:16:36.120
But here's one thing that we all have,

01:16:36.120 --> 01:16:40.280
is we all have the opportunity to work hard as unto Christ.

01:16:40.800 --> 01:16:43.840
and Christ can reward us for our work.

01:16:43.840 --> 01:16:44.680
You know what?

01:16:44.680 --> 01:16:47.080
That makes no difference whether you're a CEO

01:16:47.080 --> 01:16:49.280
or whether you are cleaning bathrooms.

01:16:49.280 --> 01:16:51.780
You can earn rewards from Jesus Christ

01:16:51.780 --> 01:16:54.420
by working hard unto him.

01:16:54.420 --> 01:16:56.120
So even if you don't like your job,

01:16:56.120 --> 01:16:59.060
I submit to you that there's still treasure in your field

01:16:59.060 --> 01:17:00.800
because if you're working unto Christ,

01:17:00.800 --> 01:17:03.160
you can still be rewarded greatly.

01:17:03.160 --> 01:17:07.700
Look, moms, there's some days where your field is a field.

01:17:08.000 --> 01:17:14.260
It's not even you know spiders. It's poop literally and vomit and and all sorts of issues that you've got to deal with

01:17:14.360 --> 01:17:19.140
But you know what work hard as unto the Lord and Jesus Christ will reward you for that

01:17:19.880 --> 01:17:24.180
Jesus Christ it says you'll receive the reward of the inheritance

01:17:24.300 --> 01:17:29.980
Look there could be treasure in any field that you're working in if you're working as unto the Lord

01:17:30.160 --> 01:17:33.060
First Timothy 6 if you would first Timothy chapter number 6

01:17:34.200 --> 01:17:36.700
And look, I hope you do like your job.

01:17:36.700 --> 01:17:37.820
I hope you do like your boss.

01:17:37.820 --> 01:17:39.680
I hope you do like your coworkers.

01:17:39.680 --> 01:17:44.060
And sometimes you may even be blessed to have a boss who is saved.

01:17:44.060 --> 01:17:47.020
That's awesome blessing right there, having a boss that is saved.

01:17:47.020 --> 01:17:50.200
Look what the Bible says about that situation, 1 Timothy 6 verse 1.

01:17:50.600 --> 01:17:54.680
Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters

01:17:55.160 --> 01:18:00.400
Worthy of all honor that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed

01:18:00.400 --> 01:18:06.140
So regardless of how your boss is you should count him worthy of honor just cuz God said so

01:18:06.360 --> 01:18:13.100
Because the Bible says so you don't want God's word and doctrine to be blasphemed when we go to work as Christians obey the boss

01:18:13.760 --> 01:18:16.260
Respect the boss. Don't try to be little the boss

01:18:17.400 --> 01:18:19.400
Do a good job as an employee. Look at verse 2.

01:18:19.400 --> 01:18:27.400
And they that have believing masters, so if your boss is saved, let them not despise them, because they are brethren.

01:18:28.400 --> 01:18:35.840
But rather do them service because they are faithful and beloved partakers of the benefit these things teach and exhort

01:18:35.840 --> 01:18:38.620
But I will sing look if you have a saved boss

01:18:38.960 --> 01:18:43.660
Don't despise that person and I think one one idea

01:18:43.660 --> 01:18:47.580
This is trying to get a call across is like not taking advantage of that person

01:18:48.100 --> 01:18:53.940
Because I've worked with saved believers before and I've seen this dynamic where it's like hey we go to church together

01:18:53.940 --> 01:18:58.060
So, you know, you're not gonna tell on me to the boss. You're not gonna get me in trouble or stuff like that

01:18:58.220 --> 01:19:00.220
It's like don't don't despise

01:19:00.940 --> 01:19:06.440
Christians when you're working for them don't use their their grace, you know against them or something like that

01:19:06.620 --> 01:19:10.000
You should love them even more if they're your boss and they're saved

01:19:10.400 --> 01:19:13.840
You should try to do them even more service because they're saved.

01:19:13.840 --> 01:19:18.480
That's what the Bible says and hey, maybe you don't like your job, but you have a good boss.

01:19:18.480 --> 01:19:19.920
There's treasure in your field.

01:19:19.920 --> 01:19:21.600
Focus on the treasure.

01:19:21.600 --> 01:19:25.200
Maybe you don't like your job, but you like your co-workers.

01:19:25.200 --> 01:19:26.720
That's treasure in your field.

01:19:26.720 --> 01:19:30.800
I mean, your boss and your co-workers sometimes can kind of make or break a job.

01:19:31.100 --> 01:19:32.680
I think we've all been there.

01:19:32.680 --> 01:19:37.980
When you've just had those coworkers, it just makes the job absolutely miserable.

01:19:37.980 --> 01:19:41.620
You know, when you're a teenager and you're working at a restaurant and you have sodomite

01:19:41.620 --> 01:19:44.260
coworkers, that makes the job miserable.

01:19:44.260 --> 01:19:47.740
So it's like, look, if you have a safe boss, or even if you just have a good boss that

01:19:47.740 --> 01:19:49.500
you like, that's treasure in your field.

01:19:49.900 --> 01:19:51.200
Hey, maybe you don't like your boss,

01:19:51.200 --> 01:19:52.040
maybe you don't like your job,

01:19:52.040 --> 01:19:53.380
but you like your coworkers.

01:19:53.380 --> 01:19:54.700
That's treasure in your field.

01:19:54.700 --> 01:19:55.540
What am I saying?

01:19:55.540 --> 01:19:58.020
Just focus on the treasure in your field.

01:19:58.020 --> 01:19:59.100
Maybe you don't like your boss,

01:19:59.100 --> 01:20:00.380
maybe you don't like your coworkers,

01:20:00.380 --> 01:20:02.340
but man, your job pays you good.

01:20:02.340 --> 01:20:03.700
And you take care of your family.

01:20:03.700 --> 01:20:05.560
Maybe you enjoy the work that you do.

01:20:05.560 --> 01:20:08.140
There's treasure in your field.

01:20:08.140 --> 01:20:09.620
Proverbs 17.

01:20:09.620 --> 01:20:13.120
Number five, look for the treasure in your friends.

01:20:13.120 --> 01:20:14.300
Look for the treasure.

01:20:14.400 --> 01:20:20.820
your friends. Here's what the Bible says in Proverbs 17 verse 17. A friend loveth

01:20:20.820 --> 01:20:27.140
at all times and a brother is born for adversity. It's very easy to be someone's

01:20:27.140 --> 01:20:31.860
friend when they're rich, when they're blessing you, when they're on top of the

01:20:31.860 --> 01:20:36.000
world, when things are going great in their life. But who are the real friends

01:20:36.000 --> 01:20:37.400
that are there for you when you're down?

01:20:38.000 --> 01:20:42.900
Who are the real friends that are there for you after you've had a bad day and you've been kind of a jerk?

01:20:43.280 --> 01:20:46.060
Right, maybe maybe that person wasn't the best friend to you

01:20:46.280 --> 01:20:52.000
But the Bible says that a friend love it at all times and a brother is born for adversity

01:20:52.000 --> 01:20:56.600
There's gonna be times in your friendships where you're like reminded while this person has a field

01:20:56.920 --> 01:20:59.080
But let me remind you you have a field

01:20:59.800 --> 01:21:06.520
And how would you like your friendships to be based on someone just hyper focusing on your field?

01:21:06.520 --> 01:21:08.760
Let me tell you what, you'd have very little friends in life.

01:21:09.100 --> 01:21:11.700
You'd have very close, very few close relationships.

01:21:11.700 --> 01:21:13.940
There'd be very few people that love you.

01:21:13.940 --> 01:21:15.980
Here's the thing, you reap what you sow.

01:21:15.980 --> 01:21:18.200
If you're a person who loves at all times,

01:21:18.200 --> 01:21:19.820
who invests into people,

01:21:19.820 --> 01:21:21.420
you don't hold every little thing

01:21:21.420 --> 01:21:23.180
that they've done against them.

01:21:23.180 --> 01:21:25.380
You actually just love them despite their field.

01:21:25.380 --> 01:21:26.540
You know, you're gonna find that you have friends

01:21:26.540 --> 01:21:28.180
that could do the same thing to you.

01:21:28.180 --> 01:21:29.920
And you're gonna want that someday

01:21:29.920 --> 01:21:31.180
when you are at a low point.

01:21:31.180 --> 01:21:32.660
Go to 2 Timothy chapter one.

01:21:33.000 --> 01:21:36.600
You know there was a time where everyone in Asia

01:21:36.600 --> 01:21:38.760
forsook the Apostle Paul.

01:21:40.160 --> 01:21:41.720
Now let me tell you, the Apostle Paul,

01:21:41.720 --> 01:21:43.180
does he have a field, yes or no?

01:21:43.180 --> 01:21:44.800
Yes he does, he's a sinner.

01:21:44.800 --> 01:21:46.720
But is the Apostle Paul like the worst guy

01:21:46.720 --> 01:21:47.560
you could be friends with?

01:21:47.560 --> 01:21:49.720
Or is he like one of the best guys you could be friends with?

01:21:50.100 --> 01:21:56.520
Like being friends with the Apostle Paul should be a great honor to associate with Paul to be a friend of Paul

01:21:56.520 --> 01:22:02.080
To be someone that you could invest in his life and love but even the Apostle Paul says this in verse 15

01:22:02.700 --> 01:22:10.360
This thou knowest that all they which are in Asia be turned away from me of whom are fey jealous and

01:22:10.760 --> 01:22:13.280
Hermogenes that's a sad statement to think of

01:22:13.900 --> 01:22:21.700
And look, there's times in this world, you know, I don't believe that Paul was reaping what he's own in this sense because I don't think he was a bad friend of these people.

01:22:21.700 --> 01:22:25.300
I don't think he was doing something wrong, but sometimes you just go through different trials in life.

01:22:25.300 --> 01:22:35.600
And here's the Apostle Paul, the greatest apostle in my opinion, the greatest missionary, the greatest evangelist, the greatest preacher of the gospel, and just everyone in Asia turns away from him.

01:22:35.600 --> 01:22:38.400
Everyone just drops him like a bad habit.

01:22:39.200 --> 01:22:44.240
But look at verse 16, the Lord give mercy unto the house of Onesiferous, for he oft

01:22:44.240 --> 01:22:47.640
refreshed me, it was not ashamed of my chain.

01:22:47.640 --> 01:22:48.640
You know what his chain is?

01:22:48.640 --> 01:22:49.320
It's his field.

01:22:49.800 --> 01:22:50.800
Right?

01:22:50.800 --> 01:22:54.620
Hey, he's looking at the Apostle Paul and it's like, the great Apostle Paul, chosen

01:22:54.620 --> 01:22:59.640
by the Lord Jesus Christ, to go start churches all over this world and preach the gospel

01:22:59.640 --> 01:23:04.920
and turn people from idolatry and pagan religion to turning to the Lord Jesus Christ.

01:23:04.920 --> 01:23:05.920
And how wonderful is Paul?

01:23:05.920 --> 01:23:07.240
Oh, but he has a chain, doesn't he?

01:23:07.900 --> 01:23:12.300
But he's hated and despised. Oh, he's the off scouring of the world

01:23:12.660 --> 01:23:19.920
Everyone looks at him and detests him and hates him and he's stoned and he's shipwrecked and he's you know threatened by

01:23:20.020 --> 01:23:25.480
You know his fellow countrymen and his brothers and all these people you know getting arrested. He has a chain

01:23:26.020 --> 01:23:28.020
But he also has treasure. I

01:23:28.340 --> 01:23:33.060
Mean if there's someone that has treasure, it's the Apostle Paul and and we would just be fools as people

01:23:33.500 --> 01:23:37.900
to just look at the field of our friends and not see the treasure there.

01:23:37.900 --> 01:23:39.900
And it's crazy.

01:23:40.600 --> 01:23:46.360
How and I don't think we have this issue but this happens in churches this and this will happen again where it's like here

01:23:46.360 --> 01:23:52.360
We are in a like-minded church where we agree on 99% of things we agree on all of the fundamentals

01:23:52.360 --> 01:23:54.500
We agree on most of secondary topics

01:23:54.500 --> 01:23:58.660
We agree on most tertiary and even beyond that and there's still some people

01:23:58.720 --> 01:24:04.240
That are so focused on the field of their brother and sister in Christ that they cannot see the treasure that they have

01:24:05.100 --> 01:24:10.620
It's like you have a great church to go to with great people that have the same goals in life that have the same

01:24:10.680 --> 01:24:15.940
Zeal for Christ and if you cannot love your brother despite his field, you probably don't love God either

01:24:16.240 --> 01:24:21.980
In fact, let me rephrase that you don't love God either because you if you cannot love your brother, you don't love God

01:24:22.360 --> 01:24:29.220
That is what the Bible teaches in on a cyphers. Okay, Paul's got a chain, but on a cyphers is not ashamed of his chain

01:24:29.580 --> 01:24:32.740
He's like cool. Hey suffering for Christ. That's great

01:24:33.600 --> 01:24:36.300
Verse 17, but when he was in Rome,

01:24:36.300 --> 01:24:38.880
he sought me out very diligently and found me.

01:24:38.880 --> 01:24:42.240
There was no Facebook, instant messaging, phone calls,

01:24:42.240 --> 01:24:44.160
you know, Snapchat, Instagram.

01:24:44.160 --> 01:24:46.120
He had to go find Paul.

01:24:46.120 --> 01:24:47.320
He's like, oh, Paul's in Rome?

01:24:47.320 --> 01:24:51.600
I'm gonna diligently find this guy just to refresh him,

01:24:51.600 --> 01:24:55.400
just to express love to him, just to be a friend to him,

01:24:55.400 --> 01:24:57.360
even if he wasn't gonna receive anything back.

01:24:57.360 --> 01:24:59.560
And let me remind you, this wasn't when,

01:24:59.560 --> 01:25:01.600
wow, Paul's at the top of the world and he's a rock.

01:25:01.600 --> 01:25:04.000
He's loved no this is when everyone's forsaken him

01:25:04.400 --> 01:25:11.880
It's real easy to stand with people where when they're succeeding when they're on the top of the world where it's a bandwagon of success

01:25:11.880 --> 01:25:15.940
It's so easy to join that bandwagon, but what about when your friend is down?

01:25:16.540 --> 01:25:20.820
What about when they mess up? What about when things are going wrong for them in their life?

01:25:20.820 --> 01:25:26.860
What if things are falling apart? You know where are you for them at that point that really goes to show the type of friend that?

01:25:26.860 --> 01:25:27.600
you are

01:25:28.000 --> 01:25:34.720
Verse 18 the Lord grant unto him that he may find mercy of the Lord in that day and in how many things he

01:25:34.720 --> 01:25:40.240
Ministered unto me at Ephesus thou knowest very well. He's like man. This guy just did me so much good

01:25:40.820 --> 01:25:43.980
You want to know why because onus cipher has said hey the Apostle Paul

01:25:44.080 --> 01:25:47.960
He may have a field but you know what there's treasure in that field

01:25:48.700 --> 01:25:55.440
You know, I'm friends with a lot of people that the world would look at and despise and detest and hate

01:25:55.440 --> 01:25:59.700
And think negatively of and let me tell you what I don't give a rip

01:25:59.920 --> 01:26:03.760
What people think about my friend pastor Jonathan Shelley because you know what?

01:26:03.760 --> 01:26:10.780
I know there's treasure in that field and could you just look at pastor Shelley and just nitpick him and say like man

01:26:10.780 --> 01:26:12.780
He likes golf. I mean he likes golf

01:26:13.400 --> 01:26:16.100
What a stereotypical Baptist preacher, right?

01:26:16.100 --> 01:26:18.300
He likes all, but who cares, right?

01:26:18.300 --> 01:26:20.000
There's treasure in that field.

01:26:20.000 --> 01:26:22.600
And yeah, he's maybe a little bit of a picky eater,

01:26:22.600 --> 01:26:23.680
but you know what, at least he's gonna take you

01:26:23.680 --> 01:26:25.140
to a really good restaurant.

01:26:25.140 --> 01:26:27.380
He's not gonna suffer for low quality food.

01:26:27.380 --> 01:26:29.020
You know, if you go out to eat with Pastor Shelley,

01:26:29.020 --> 01:26:31.620
it's gonna be a super awesome place.

01:26:31.620 --> 01:26:35.280
You know Pastor Anderson, I'm sure he's got a field, right?

01:26:35.280 --> 01:26:36.520
People don't like him.

01:26:36.520 --> 01:26:38.280
People don't like his reputation.

01:26:38.280 --> 01:26:39.680
He likes Indian food.

01:26:39.680 --> 01:26:40.520
It's crazy.

01:26:40.900 --> 01:26:43.460
But there's treasure in pastor anderson is there not?

01:26:44.500 --> 01:26:48.340
One of the greatest preachers in this world saving probably millions of people

01:26:48.900 --> 01:26:53.800
Throughout the course of his ministry leading the charge and mission strips preaching great doctrinal sermons

01:26:54.300 --> 01:27:01.120
Changing thousands if not millions of people's minds on things like the preacher rapture on things like the Zionism

01:27:01.700 --> 01:27:06.680
Firing up an entire generation of people to renew the old paths of confrontational soul winning

01:27:06.680 --> 01:27:11.720
It's like you go ahead and show me the field. I don't care because there's treasure in the field

01:27:12.300 --> 01:27:18.260
While a lot of people when people are looking at his field or even his perceived field said I'm out of here

01:27:18.260 --> 01:27:23.400
I'm gonna forsake my friend. I'm gone. You know, there's some people that are saying hey, I know there's treasure there

01:27:23.400 --> 01:27:25.780
I'm not gonna forsake my friend

01:27:26.300 --> 01:27:31.240
You know, there's there's a field that pastor Reyes has have you ever seen how short pastor Reyes is, right?

01:27:31.240 --> 01:27:35.060
I mean when he preached her I'm pretty sure he had to preach right here because he couldn't preach right here

01:27:35.060 --> 01:27:39.500
Hey, you pastor Reyes has got a field, but you know, there's treasure in pastor Reyes. He's a great man of God

01:27:40.200 --> 01:27:41.740
He preaches good sermons.

01:27:41.740 --> 01:27:44.340
He's a faithful, humble servant of God

01:27:44.340 --> 01:27:47.800
that's winning souls every single week in Houston, Texas.

01:27:47.800 --> 01:27:49.700
Boy, talk about working in a field.

01:27:49.700 --> 01:27:51.700
Bros in Houston, Texas, that's a field.

01:27:51.700 --> 01:27:54.540
But you know what, hey, even in the field of Houston,

01:27:54.540 --> 01:27:56.740
there's one piece of treasure there.

01:27:56.740 --> 01:27:58.880
Spring Crest Baptist Church.

01:27:58.880 --> 01:28:01.140
You know, show me the field with my friends.

01:28:01.140 --> 01:28:02.440
Hey, I'll show you the treasure.

01:28:02.440 --> 01:28:05.980
Pastor Mejia, his building literally explodes sometimes.

01:28:06.860 --> 01:28:08.020
Talk about a field.

01:28:08.400 --> 01:28:12.560
I mean, you never know. His building could just blow up from sodomite terrorists.

01:28:13.440 --> 01:28:19.440
Ben literally looks like a 9-11 hijacker. But let me tell you what, there's treasure in that field.

01:28:21.040 --> 01:28:27.120
Time would fail me to tell you of Cameron's field. He likes Whataburger. He likes anime.

01:28:27.840 --> 01:28:31.440
I mean, this guy's got a field, but you know what? There's treasure in my friend Cameron.

01:28:32.100 --> 01:28:36.020
Because he's a faithful soul winner. He loves the word of God. I mean, let me tell you

01:28:36.660 --> 01:28:43.300
Theodore that there's a field there if I'm preaching and I'm preaching about hey people who go to hell for all of eternity

01:28:43.300 --> 01:28:45.860
They're gonna be burning in torments. He's gonna be smiling at me

01:28:46.980 --> 01:28:52.260
And when I say god loves you he's gonna be smiling at me and right now I bet you he's smiling right now

01:28:52.900 --> 01:28:56.980
But you know what? There's treasure in brother Theodore because he's a servant of god

01:28:57.780 --> 01:28:59.100
Because he's a soul winner

01:28:59.200 --> 01:29:03.020
Because he wants to go to Fiji to preach the gospel. Oh, but he has a field

01:29:03.020 --> 01:29:06.120
You know brother Alex has a field bro shot himself

01:29:07.180 --> 01:29:11.120
We call him Houston because he looks like he's working in mission control

01:29:11.120 --> 01:29:13.400
He's got so much technology hooked up to his head

01:29:13.620 --> 01:29:18.100
But you know what Alex is one of the most generous people I've ever met in my entire life, right?

01:29:18.100 --> 01:29:22.020
I mean who in here has not been blessed by Alex in some way. Alex is a great friend

01:29:22.720 --> 01:29:24.600
Alex is a helpful person

01:29:24.800 --> 01:29:27.800
I mean my friend Brother Rich, that guy's got a field.

01:29:27.800 --> 01:29:29.700
He questions the moon landings.

01:29:29.700 --> 01:29:31.660
He doesn't question Artemis, okay?

01:29:31.660 --> 01:29:33.660
But let me tell you what, Brother Rich has treasure.

01:29:34.200 --> 01:29:36.040
He is super helpful to our church.

01:29:36.040 --> 01:29:37.760
He's helping us with our documentary.

01:29:37.760 --> 01:29:40.040
He's a very smart and talented person.

01:29:40.040 --> 01:29:41.840
He loves the Lord his God.

01:29:41.840 --> 01:29:43.120
He's a great soul winner.

01:29:43.120 --> 01:29:46.120
He's faithful to Pastor Shelley and Set Fast Baptist Church.

01:29:46.120 --> 01:29:48.520
I'm just telling you, you would be a smart person

01:29:48.520 --> 01:29:51.560
to start looking at the treasure in your friends

01:29:51.560 --> 01:29:53.160
rather than while they have a field.

01:29:53.500 --> 01:30:00.960
Yeah, no duh genius. We all have a field. Congratulations. Dr. Spock aren't you a wonderful psychologist that you could point out that someone has a field

01:30:00.960 --> 01:30:03.360
You know, I'm more impressed by someone who could point out the treasure

01:30:04.000 --> 01:30:08.120
And I'm more impressed with the onus if erases that when everyone is forsaking Paul

01:30:08.120 --> 01:30:14.040
He says I'm not ashamed of your chain. I'll still love you. I'll still be your friend

01:30:14.040 --> 01:30:17.560
Look, I'm not naming everyone but let me tell you what the people in my life

01:30:17.560 --> 01:30:20.800
I try my best to look for the treasure in those people

01:30:21.900 --> 01:30:25.560
There's people I am just looking for the best in them. I'm thinking of the best in them

01:30:25.600 --> 01:30:31.260
That's how I try to treat people in my life. Am I perfect? No, but I am trying to look for the treasure in people

01:30:31.960 --> 01:30:34.860
Go to Matthew 8. I'll read for you Proverbs 18 verse 24

01:30:34.860 --> 01:30:39.500
The Bible says a man that hath friends must show himself friendly

01:30:39.500 --> 01:30:42.740
And there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother

01:30:42.860 --> 01:30:46.980
You will not have friends if all you do is point out people's fields

01:30:47.900 --> 01:30:53.600
You will not have friends if all you do is you hyper focus and complain and whine about people's field

01:30:53.760 --> 01:30:56.000
Why don't you actually appreciate someone's treasure?

01:30:56.640 --> 01:31:03.760
Why don't you help someone by loving them rather than constantly criticizing them and look we need reproof

01:31:03.760 --> 01:31:07.080
We need rebuke we need but it needs to come from a place of love

01:31:07.900 --> 01:31:13.380
That's the difference when someone's approving you and you know, this person loves me and wants the best for me

01:31:13.420 --> 01:31:19.140
That's different than someone's like all you ever do is point out my field and you forsake me in my time of need and you're

01:31:19.140 --> 01:31:25.100
Not a good friend and you don't even like me. Why would I listen to your criticism? Why would I listen to your rebuke?

01:31:25.100 --> 01:31:28.660
Hey, I'll take the rebuke from someone who loves me. That's a different story

01:31:30.420 --> 01:31:34.160
Last point number six look for the treasure in serving God

01:31:35.200 --> 01:31:39.360
Let's be honest, serving God is going to have a field.

01:31:39.360 --> 01:31:41.560
They're serving God, let me tell you this,

01:31:41.560 --> 01:31:43.920
are gonna be some of the most fun times in your life,

01:31:43.920 --> 01:31:46.320
some of the most exciting, some of the most rewarding,

01:31:46.320 --> 01:31:49.600
but they're also going to be times where it's thorns

01:31:49.600 --> 01:31:52.880
and black widows and snakes and foxholes

01:31:52.880 --> 01:31:54.560
and issues and problems.

01:31:54.560 --> 01:31:56.480
There's going to be a field.

01:31:56.480 --> 01:31:59.280
Look at what the Bible says here in Matthew 18 verse 19.

01:31:59.900 --> 01:32:05.340
And a certain scribe came and said unto him, Master, I will follow thee whithersoe'er thou

01:32:05.340 --> 01:32:10.300
goest. Boy, don't we hear that all the time. Oh, I'll be there at church. Oh, I'm coming

01:32:10.300 --> 01:32:17.180
this Sunday. No problem. I'll be there preacher. And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes

01:32:17.180 --> 01:32:22.860
and the birds of the air have nests, but the son of man have not where to lay his head.

01:32:23.420 --> 01:32:26.860
You know, even the Lord Jesus Christ had a field.

01:32:27.400 --> 01:32:30.700
That field was not his sin of course he was sinless

01:32:30.800 --> 01:32:36.120
But the field was there's gonna be problems that you're gonna encounter in following the Lord Jesus Christ

01:32:36.120 --> 01:32:40.680
If you follow the Lord Jesus Christ that is not a path to being loved by everyone

01:32:40.920 --> 01:32:44.820
To health and wealth and success and and being loved by this world

01:32:44.820 --> 01:32:51.040
He says you know what if you follow me the foxes have it better than me and the birds of the air have better

01:32:51.280 --> 01:32:53.520
Accommodations than me are you sure you want to follow me?

01:32:53.900 --> 01:32:55.180
Do you really want to follow me?

01:32:55.180 --> 01:32:56.180
Because guess what?

01:32:56.180 --> 01:32:57.940
There's going to be a field involved.

01:32:57.940 --> 01:33:02.740
Verse 21, and another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and

01:33:02.740 --> 01:33:06.500
bury my father, seemingly reasonable request.

01:33:06.500 --> 01:33:11.060
But Jesus said unto him, Follow me and let the dead bury their dead.

01:33:11.500 --> 01:33:17.500
Hey, sometimes there could be a field of life not being as comfortable for you as you would like it to.

01:33:17.500 --> 01:33:22.060
Sometimes there's going to be a field of, hey, I would like to be maybe closer to my family.

01:33:22.060 --> 01:33:25.740
I would like to maybe not have issues or problems in relationships.

01:33:25.740 --> 01:33:28.780
But he's like, hey, if you want to follow me, you better let the dead bury their dead.

01:33:29.420 --> 01:33:32.940
You better just accept that there's going to be a field in following me.

01:33:32.940 --> 01:33:38.780
And you can either accept that and go on to be a disciple or let that field stop you and you will not serve God.

01:33:40.000 --> 01:33:42.880
Go to Matthew chapter number 10 Matthew chapter number 10

01:33:44.640 --> 01:33:48.420
I don't know what people think they're signing up for when they actually want to serve god

01:33:48.700 --> 01:33:55.420
But let me tell you what, you're not signing up for comfort and prosperity and wealth and to be loved and to never get yelled at out

01:33:55.420 --> 01:34:00.940
soul-winning and to never have problems in your relationships and to never have people backstab you or treat you evil

01:34:01.260 --> 01:34:04.460
Or the news lie about you or the israeli government come out

01:34:04.460 --> 01:34:09.580
But i'm just telling you let me tell you what you're signing up for. Let's read it matthew 10 verse 16

01:34:09.820 --> 01:34:13.200
Behold I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves

01:34:14.000 --> 01:34:19.040
Be therefore wise as serpents and harmless as doves. I don't want to be a sheep in the midst of wolves

01:34:19.560 --> 01:34:23.700
I've been in the midst of wolves before while I was hunting elk as a human and that was kind of scary

01:34:23.720 --> 01:34:27.840
Well, I had a gun imagine being a sheep in the midst of wolves

01:34:28.620 --> 01:34:35.320
Verse 17 but beware of men for they will deliver you up to the councils and they will scourge you in their synagogues

01:34:36.300 --> 01:34:41.900
Hey guys, I'm about to send you on your first mission strip. This is him sending out his disciples the very first time

01:34:41.900 --> 01:34:45.260
That's what Matthew 10 is. He's like, let me explain to you. You're going into a dangerous situation

01:34:45.860 --> 01:34:49.740
We're doing some swat soul-witting. You're gonna be like sheep in the midst of wolves

01:34:49.740 --> 01:34:54.940
They're gonna send you to the synagogues to be beaten. Hey, you're gonna be what scourged in the synagogues?

01:34:54.940 --> 01:34:57.500
A lot of people would not continue with this

01:34:58.260 --> 01:35:01.260
And he shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake

01:35:01.800 --> 01:35:07.080
For a testimony against them and the Gentiles. Oh, I don't want any persecution at my job. Oh, I don't want the news

01:35:07.160 --> 01:35:10.120
Oh, I don't want the government. He's saying you do this you're gonna be brought before the government

01:35:10.760 --> 01:35:12.040
in question

01:35:12.040 --> 01:35:16.120
Verse 19 but when they deliver you up take no thought how or what ye shall speak

01:35:16.440 --> 01:35:19.160
For it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak

01:35:19.640 --> 01:35:23.320
For it is not ye that speak but the spirit of your father would speak within you

01:35:24.120 --> 01:35:26.200
And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death

01:35:27.000 --> 01:35:28.300
Boy, doesn't that sound fun?

01:35:28.500 --> 01:35:35.140
and the father of the child and the children shall rise up against their parents and cause them to be put to death

01:35:36.500 --> 01:35:40.260
And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake

01:35:40.900 --> 01:35:44.020
But he that endureth to the end shall be saved

01:35:44.660 --> 01:35:49.880
Right. Hey, here's what you're signing up for. Are you wanting to just be hated by all men?

01:35:50.400 --> 01:35:53.920
Hey, the foxes of the air, the foxes of the field, they have holes.

01:35:53.920 --> 01:35:55.200
The birds of the air, they have nests.

01:35:55.200 --> 01:35:57.440
The son of man has not to lay his, where to lay his head.

01:35:57.440 --> 01:35:59.920
You sign up following me, you're going to be persecuted.

01:35:59.920 --> 01:36:01.840
You're going to be hated. You're going to be scourged.

01:36:01.840 --> 01:36:03.600
You're going to be brought before the government.

01:36:03.600 --> 01:36:04.960
You're going to be disliked.

01:36:04.960 --> 01:36:06.640
Your family is going to turn against you.

01:36:06.640 --> 01:36:08.720
Your brother is going to deliver you up to be killed.

01:36:08.720 --> 01:36:12.640
The father, the child, the children are going to raise up against their parents.

01:36:12.640 --> 01:36:14.400
And it says in verse number 23,

01:36:14.400 --> 01:36:16.840
But when they persecute you in this city,

01:36:16.840 --> 01:36:18.200
flee into another.

01:36:18.300 --> 01:36:23.020
For verily I say unto you you shall not have gone over the cities of Israel till the Son of Man become

01:36:23.820 --> 01:36:26.300
Listen to this the disciple is not above his master

01:36:27.260 --> 01:36:29.340
Nor the servant above his lord

01:36:29.340 --> 01:36:32.140
It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master

01:36:32.540 --> 01:36:37.180
And the servant as his lord if they have said if they've called the master of the house beels above

01:36:37.820 --> 01:36:41.420
How much more shall they call him them of his household?

01:36:42.300 --> 01:36:44.300
We can't expect to be

01:36:44.700 --> 01:36:51.980
Treated any better than the Lord Jesus Christ if we're following him and did Jesus get health and wealth and prosperity and loved by everyone

01:36:52.060 --> 01:36:54.000
No, he was rejected

01:36:54.200 --> 01:36:59.180
No, he was forsaken by his friends. No, he was betrayed by one of his own disciples

01:36:59.300 --> 01:37:04.060
No, he was spit in his face. He was buffeted. He had his beard ripped out

01:37:04.060 --> 01:37:06.060
He had a crown of thorns placed on his head

01:37:06.060 --> 01:37:09.400
He was beaten so badly the Bible says that you could see his bones

01:37:09.620 --> 01:37:14.860
They cast lots for his garment. They made fun of him and railed against him when he was on the cross

01:37:14.940 --> 01:37:20.060
They drove nails through his hands and through his feet. They made him hang there for six agonizing hours

01:37:20.700 --> 01:37:22.200
choking on his own blood

01:37:22.200 --> 01:37:25.680
and spit and then he dies and goes to hell for three days and three nights.

01:37:25.680 --> 01:37:26.920
What does the Bible say?

01:37:26.920 --> 01:37:28.840
We're not better than him.

01:37:28.840 --> 01:37:30.440
So you know what I should expect?

01:37:30.440 --> 01:37:33.320
If I want to serve God, I should expect there's going to be a field.

01:37:33.320 --> 01:37:34.520
I should expect, hey, you know what?

01:37:34.520 --> 01:37:35.880
There's going to be a field.

01:37:35.880 --> 01:37:40.240
And for some people, that field might be more messed up than other fields than other people.

01:37:40.240 --> 01:37:41.240
Right?

01:37:41.240 --> 01:37:43.520
Hey, some of the disciples were literally martyred.

01:37:43.520 --> 01:37:44.900
They were literally killed.

01:37:44.900 --> 01:37:48.040
Some of us, our field is just like, you know, your mom thinks you're weird.

01:37:48.700 --> 01:37:50.700
Right? Someone yells at you out soul winning.

01:37:50.700 --> 01:37:54.700
Someone threatens you out soul winning and nothing even happens.

01:37:54.700 --> 01:37:57.700
You got questioned by your job and nothing even happened.

01:37:57.700 --> 01:38:00.700
A news article was posted and nothing even happened.

01:38:00.700 --> 01:38:04.700
Is it a field? Sure it's a field but let me tell you what, there's treasure serving God.

01:38:04.700 --> 01:38:08.700
There is treasure serving God. It's like well why?

01:38:08.700 --> 01:38:10.700
Why would I serve God then?

01:38:11.600 --> 01:38:15.160
If there's all this field, there's all these problems, there's all these relationship issues,

01:38:15.160 --> 01:38:17.640
there's all these lies, there's all these issues, here's why.

01:38:17.640 --> 01:38:20.440
There's treasure in serving God.

01:38:20.440 --> 01:38:25.800
Matthew 25 verse 21 says, His Lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant.

01:38:26.300 --> 01:38:31.400
Thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things, enter

01:38:31.400 --> 01:38:33.160
thou into the joy of thy Lord."

01:38:33.160 --> 01:38:38.480
Hey, there's fields, there's problems, there's persecution, there's people hating you for

01:38:38.480 --> 01:38:42.320
no reason, there's people turning on you, there's all these things, but you know what?

01:38:42.320 --> 01:38:46.500
It's worth it to endure that field so that someday you can have the treasure of Jesus

01:38:46.500 --> 01:38:49.360
saying unto you, well done my good and faithful servant.

01:38:49.360 --> 01:38:51.340
Hey enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.

01:38:51.340 --> 01:38:52.860
You've been faithful over a few things.

01:38:52.860 --> 01:38:54.300
I'll make you ruler over many.

01:38:54.300 --> 01:38:55.760
Many things.

01:38:55.760 --> 01:38:58.140
That is treasure that is worth it, my friend.

01:38:58.140 --> 01:38:59.140
And that's what I want to exhort you.

01:38:59.140 --> 01:39:00.140
Hey, you know what?

01:39:00.140 --> 01:39:04.560
Serving God, sometimes it's going to be a field, but you should focus on the treasure

01:39:04.560 --> 01:39:06.120
rather than the field.

01:39:06.120 --> 01:39:07.120
What treasure do we have?

01:39:07.120 --> 01:39:10.300
How about the fact that we are ambassadors for Jesus Christ?

01:39:10.300 --> 01:39:12.160
What a treasure that is.

01:39:12.160 --> 01:39:16.300
What a treasure that I am a representative of God Almighty.

01:39:16.800 --> 01:39:22.560
What a blessing and honor it is that my office reflects the Lord Jesus Christ.

01:39:22.560 --> 01:39:23.560
That is a treasure.

01:39:23.560 --> 01:39:25.360
Hey, is there a field with pastoring?

01:39:25.360 --> 01:39:28.680
Sure there's a field with pastoring, just like there's a field with everything, but

01:39:28.680 --> 01:39:29.680
you know what?

01:39:29.680 --> 01:39:30.680
There's treasure there.

01:39:30.680 --> 01:39:33.520
There's treasure for you as a soul winner, for Jesus Christ.

01:39:33.520 --> 01:39:39.780
There's treasure that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Ghost.

01:39:39.780 --> 01:39:42.580
of the members of the Godhead dwells within us.

01:39:43.000 --> 01:39:44.500
That is a great treasure.

01:39:44.500 --> 01:39:46.600
You ever think about that?

01:39:46.600 --> 01:39:47.300
How about this?

01:39:47.300 --> 01:39:50.300
Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us

01:39:50.300 --> 01:39:52.840
that we should be called the children of God.

01:39:52.840 --> 01:39:54.340
That's treasure.

01:39:54.340 --> 01:39:57.920
We are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.

01:39:57.920 --> 01:39:59.300
That's treasure.

01:39:59.300 --> 01:40:02.180
How about we get to make a difference, pulling some

01:40:02.180 --> 01:40:03.280
out of the fire?

01:40:03.280 --> 01:40:04.500
That's treasure.

01:40:04.700 --> 01:40:09.580
How about we get to help people whose life is wrecked by sin and we could bring them into the house of god

01:40:09.740 --> 01:40:13.420
And get them some hard preaching and change their life. That's treasure

01:40:14.220 --> 01:40:17.020
How about someday we get to meet the lord in the air someday?

01:40:17.580 --> 01:40:18.860
That's treasure

01:40:18.860 --> 01:40:25.440
How about someday we get glorified bodies that will never die never get sick never get injured. That's treasure

01:40:26.000 --> 01:40:30.480
How about someday we'll get to descend from heaven with the Lord when he's on his white horse

01:40:30.480 --> 01:40:34.320
and we get to watch him destroy all of his enemies in front of us? That's treasure.

01:40:35.040 --> 01:40:40.640
How about someday we get to rule and reign with Christ for a thousand years? That's treasure.

01:40:40.640 --> 01:40:46.240
How about we get to inherit the new heaven and the new earth? That's treasure. And be with the

01:40:46.240 --> 01:40:51.440
Lord forever and ever where there's no tears and no crying and no hunger and no death and no pain.

01:40:52.000 --> 01:40:52.800
That's treasure.

01:40:53.700 --> 01:40:56.700
How about someday we'll be on streets of gold? That's treasure.

01:40:56.700 --> 01:40:59.700
It's like, well why would you go through all the pain?

01:40:59.700 --> 01:41:01.700
Why would you go through the field of life?

01:41:01.700 --> 01:41:03.700
Because there's treasure in serving God.

01:41:03.700 --> 01:41:05.700
And I'm just like, some people, I'm just like,

01:41:05.700 --> 01:41:08.700
when are you going to wake up to what is important in life?

01:41:08.700 --> 01:41:10.700
When are you going to stop living for this world?

01:41:10.700 --> 01:41:14.700
When are you going to actually start becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ?

01:41:14.700 --> 01:41:18.540
When are you going to start realizing, hey, there's problems, there's a field, but you

01:41:18.540 --> 01:41:21.300
know what, there's treasure with the Lord Jesus Christ.

01:41:21.300 --> 01:41:22.920
Sign me up for the field.

01:41:22.920 --> 01:41:24.180
Sign me up for the hatred.

01:41:24.180 --> 01:41:27.920
Sign me up for the problems because someday I'm telling you, there's treasure beyond anything

01:41:27.920 --> 01:41:29.380
we could possibly imagine.

01:41:29.380 --> 01:41:32.520
Go to 1 Corinthians 15.

01:41:32.520 --> 01:41:33.700
First Corinthians 15.

01:41:33.700 --> 01:41:41.020
Boy, when a man finds treasure in his field, he sells all that he has to buy that field

01:41:41.020 --> 01:41:42.020
because of the treasure.

01:41:42.700 --> 01:41:44.220
And you know what we should do?

01:41:44.220 --> 01:41:47.180
The Bible says that we should give our bodies a living sacrifice.

01:41:47.180 --> 01:41:48.940
That's a reasonable service.

01:41:48.940 --> 01:41:52.820
There is great treasure in believing on the Lord Jesus Christ.

01:41:52.820 --> 01:41:54.300
It's called being saved.

01:41:54.300 --> 01:41:57.540
There's great treasure in being a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ.

01:41:57.540 --> 01:41:58.740
It's called rewards in heaven.

01:41:59.100 --> 01:42:00.700
It's called getting people saved.

01:42:00.700 --> 01:42:02.180
It's called doing the work of God.

01:42:02.180 --> 01:42:03.020
And you know what?

01:42:03.020 --> 01:42:04.700
If you're actually a wise person,

01:42:04.700 --> 01:42:06.140
and if you could look at this world

01:42:06.140 --> 01:42:08.060
through spiritual glasses for a moment,

01:42:08.060 --> 01:42:09.980
you would sell everything you have.

01:42:09.980 --> 01:42:13.140
You would sacrifice all of your worldly ambitions and dreams

01:42:13.140 --> 01:42:15.300
to fully sell out for Jesus Christ,

01:42:15.300 --> 01:42:17.820
because that's all that's going to matter someday.

01:42:17.820 --> 01:42:20.980
And someday at the judgment seat of Christ,

01:42:20.980 --> 01:42:23.220
I think we're all going to look back and say, wow,

01:42:23.220 --> 01:42:24.460
we wasted time.

01:42:24.460 --> 01:42:25.140
But you know what?

01:42:25.140 --> 01:42:26.900
I want to minimize that as much as possible.

01:42:27.300 --> 01:42:33.780
I only have 70 or 80 years in this dumb world in this flesh in this corruptible flesh

01:42:34.020 --> 01:42:36.020
Why don't I use it doing something for god?

01:42:36.340 --> 01:42:40.820
Why don't I use it and get busy for god and not sit here to just please myself?

01:42:41.860 --> 01:42:46.740
1st crenthians 15 verse 58 therefore my beloved brethren be ye steadfast unmovable

01:42:47.460 --> 01:42:54.100
Always abounding in the work of the lord for as much as you know that your labor is not in vain in the lord

01:42:55.200 --> 01:42:58.480
You know, even if you found a field in Oklahoma

01:42:58.480 --> 01:43:02.280
that was never purchased or was up for sale or something like that

01:43:02.280 --> 01:43:06.040
and you found out, you know, this field has an inexhaustible amount of oil

01:43:06.040 --> 01:43:09.080
and I am so rich, you know, you buy that

01:43:09.080 --> 01:43:12.080
and you get rich, you know, all that money's gonna perish someday.

01:43:12.500 --> 01:43:18.220
All of its gonna be completely vain even if you strike it rich even if you found literal treasure in this world

01:43:18.220 --> 01:43:21.260
It will mean nothing for eternity and it'll be gone

01:43:21.260 --> 01:43:27.620
You can't take it with you. But here's what the Bible says that our labor is not in vain in the Lord

01:43:28.180 --> 01:43:33.800
That's what's cool. Is that hey, even if I if I could trade all the money in the world for one soul

01:43:33.800 --> 01:43:35.300
I've ever saved I would not do it

01:43:35.500 --> 01:43:39.940
Because guess what that money's gonna perish but the soul I got saved is gonna be in heaven for all of eternity

01:43:40.460 --> 01:43:45.100
And it's just time for us as Christians to reevaluate our priorities in life

01:43:45.780 --> 01:43:51.580
Are you focusing on the treasure in your field or are you just the person that all you can see is the field?

01:43:51.700 --> 01:43:57.500
If you're the person you just all you do is focus on the field you complain about the field you are missing out on joy

01:43:58.260 --> 01:44:00.260
fulfillment and purpose in your life

01:44:00.800 --> 01:44:05.800
Be someone that focuses on the field. I just want to read a couple verses for you. You don't need to turn there

01:44:07.420 --> 01:44:14.260
Lamentations 322 says it is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed because his compassion's fail

01:44:14.260 --> 01:44:20.120
Not they are new every morning great is thy faithfulness. You've got treasure every day from God

01:44:20.720 --> 01:44:24.240
Psalm 31 19. Oh how great is thy goodness?

01:44:24.800 --> 01:44:30.640
which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee, which hast wrought for them that trusted thee before the sons of men.

01:44:30.640 --> 01:44:36.240
Psalm 34, 8, O taste and see that the Lord is good, blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

01:44:36.240 --> 01:44:43.840
Psalm 105, for the Lord is good, his mercy is everlasting, and his truth endureth to all generations.

01:44:43.840 --> 01:44:50.960
Psalm 145, 9, the Lord is good to all, and his mercies are over all his works.

01:44:50.960 --> 01:44:52.000
God has been good to you.

01:44:52.900 --> 01:44:54.560
God has been good to me.

01:44:54.560 --> 01:44:55.940
God has been good to all.

01:44:55.940 --> 01:44:57.020
You know what that means?

01:44:57.020 --> 01:44:59.860
There is treasure in your field.

01:44:59.860 --> 01:45:01.820
Whatever stage of life you're at,

01:45:01.820 --> 01:45:03.740
whatever mistakes you've made in the past,

01:45:03.740 --> 01:45:07.540
right now today, there is treasure in your field.

01:45:07.540 --> 01:45:09.300
Hey, your kids are still young,

01:45:09.300 --> 01:45:11.240
your kids and you have a great relationship,

01:45:11.240 --> 01:45:12.500
there's treasure in your field.

01:45:12.700 --> 01:45:18.460
Hey, you've got a good career you're able to provide there's treasure in your field. You got a good church to go to there's treasure in your field

01:45:18.780 --> 01:45:23.340
Hey, you got legs that could walk to those apartment complexes. You've got lungs that could breathe

01:45:23.500 --> 01:45:26.700
You got a mouth that could speak the gospel. There's treasure in your field

01:45:27.420 --> 01:45:33.580
Do not be a person that wastes your life complaining about the field be someone that focuses on the treasure. Let's pray lord

01:45:33.580 --> 01:45:35.180
Thank you so much for

01:45:35.180 --> 01:45:37.000
All that you do for us lord

01:45:37.100 --> 01:45:42.060
We may not always understand it, but I know that we always need the good and the bad from you.

01:45:42.060 --> 01:45:48.140
Help us not to just complain about the bad or the trials or the hardships. Help us to focus on the

01:45:48.140 --> 01:45:53.500
treasure, to be thankful for the good. Help us to be good friends to one another and good servants

01:45:53.500 --> 01:45:56.460
of Jesus Christ. We love you in Jesus name we pray. Amen.

01:46:04.500 --> 01:46:09.500
Our last hymn this morning, turn in your hymnals to 119.

01:46:13.400 --> 01:46:23.400
Hymn number 119, 1-1-9, till the storm passes by.

01:46:23.400 --> 01:46:25.900
119.

01:46:38.500 --> 01:46:41.500
119, let's sing it out all together.

01:46:42.000 --> 01:46:50.400
In the dark of the midnight have I offed my face

01:46:50.400 --> 01:46:58.800
While the storm howls above me and there's no hiding place

01:46:58.800 --> 01:47:07.200
Mid the crash of the thunder, precious lord, hear my cry

01:47:07.200 --> 01:47:10.000
Keep me safe till the s-

01:47:10.000 --> 01:47:15.000
The storm passes by

01:47:15.000 --> 01:47:19.000
Till the storm passes over

01:47:19.000 --> 01:47:23.000
Till the thunder sounds no more

01:47:23.000 --> 01:47:31.000
Till the clouds roll forever from the sky

01:47:31.000 --> 01:47:35.000
Hold me fast, let me stand

01:47:35.100 --> 01:47:47.100
In the hollow of thy hand, keep me safe till the storm passes by.

01:47:47.100 --> 01:47:55.100
Many times Satan whispered, there is no need to try,

01:47:55.100 --> 01:48:01.100
for there's no end of sorrow, there's no hope.

01:48:01.700 --> 01:48:09.140
I am fine, but I know thou art with me and to more

01:48:10.140 --> 01:48:14.380
Roll rise where the storms never

01:48:15.940 --> 01:48:17.940
In the sky

01:48:20.000 --> 01:48:24.000
Till the storm passes over

01:48:24.000 --> 01:48:28.000
Till the thunder sounds no more

01:48:28.000 --> 01:48:36.000
Till the clouds roll forever from the sky

01:48:36.000 --> 01:48:40.000
Hold me fast, let me stand

01:48:40.700 --> 01:48:52.200
In the blow of thy hand, keep me safe till the storm passes by.

01:48:52.900 --> 01:49:01.340
When the long night has ended and the storms come no more,

01:49:01.340 --> 01:49:09.700
let me stand in thy presence on that bright, peaceful shore,

01:49:09.700 --> 01:49:15.820
in that land where the tempest never comes.

01:49:15.820 --> 01:49:20.860
Lord, may I dwell with thee when the storm.

01:49:20.900 --> 01:49:24.900
Passes by

01:49:24.900 --> 01:49:28.900
Till the storm passes over

01:49:28.900 --> 01:49:32.900
Till the thunder sounds no more

01:49:32.900 --> 01:49:36.900
Till the clouds roll forever

01:49:36.900 --> 01:49:40.900
From the sky

01:49:42.400 --> 01:49:46.560
Hold me fast, let me stand

01:49:46.560 --> 01:49:50.800
In the blow of thy hand

01:49:50.800 --> 01:49:58.960
Keep me safe till the storm passes by

01:49:58.960 --> 01:50:00.960
Amen. With that you are dismissed.
