14:51.560 --> 14:53.560 That's a word that you see in the bible a lot 14:53.600 --> 14:55.600 And it's not usually talking about 14:55.600 --> 14:57.600 Some sort of physical, heavy load 14:57.600 --> 14:59.600 It's usually talking about a negative 14:59.600 --> 15:01.600 Message that is being sent 15:01.600 --> 15:03.600 It's this negative 15:03.600 --> 15:05.600 Kind of sad message of doom 15:05.600 --> 15:07.600 And destruction that the prophet 15:07.600 --> 15:09.600 Has been given by God to 15:09.600 --> 15:11.600 Deliver 15:11.600 --> 15:13.600 And you know one of the problems that we have 15:13.600 --> 15:15.600 In America today is we have a lot of preachers 15:15.600 --> 15:17.600 That are not willing to deliver the burden 15:17.600 --> 15:19.600 Of the Lord 15:19.600 --> 15:21.600 And Isaiah was a real man of God because he got 15:21.640 --> 15:23.640 The burden of the Lord and was willing to deliver 15:23.640 --> 15:25.640 A negative message 15:25.640 --> 15:27.640 A lot of churches today you go to 15:27.640 --> 15:29.640 And you hear just a positive only 15:29.640 --> 15:31.640 Type preaching 15:31.640 --> 15:33.640 But you know that is not biblical because when you actually 15:33.640 --> 15:35.640 Read the bible you see lots of negative 15:35.640 --> 15:37.640 Messages 15:37.640 --> 15:39.640 Lots of bad messages 15:39.640 --> 15:41.640 And some people would have the attitude of 15:41.640 --> 15:43.640 Well you know I don't want to hear a negative message 15:43.640 --> 15:45.640 I just want to hear a positive message 15:45.640 --> 15:47.640 But here's the thing if God is mad at you 15:47.640 --> 15:49.640 About something, ignorance is not bliss 15:49.680 --> 15:51.680 I mean the moabites getting this 15:51.680 --> 15:53.680 Message from God of destruction 15:53.680 --> 15:55.680 Of doom 15:55.680 --> 15:57.680 It can only help them 15:57.680 --> 15:59.680 By hearing the fact that God is upset 15:59.680 --> 16:01.680 That God is angry 16:01.680 --> 16:03.680 And then maybe there's hope to fix that 16:03.680 --> 16:05.680 But this idea of ignorance is bliss 16:05.680 --> 16:07.680 You know maybe that is true 16:07.680 --> 16:09.680 In some areas of life but it's not 16:09.680 --> 16:11.680 When it comes to the bible 16:11.680 --> 16:13.680 It's not when it comes to God 16:13.680 --> 16:15.680 If you would actually let's keep your place there 16:15.680 --> 16:17.680 So I want to give you a few 16:17.720 --> 16:19.720 Lessons this morning from 16:19.720 --> 16:21.720 The burden of moab 16:21.720 --> 16:23.720 Number one 16:23.720 --> 16:25.720 Being emotional does not 16:25.720 --> 16:27.720 Make you right with God 16:27.720 --> 16:29.720 Why do I say that? Look at Isaiah chapter 15 verse 1 16:29.720 --> 16:31.720 It says the burden of moab 16:31.720 --> 16:33.720 Because in the night 16:33.720 --> 16:35.720 R of moab is laid waste 16:35.720 --> 16:37.720 And brought to silence 16:37.720 --> 16:39.720 Because in the night ker of moab is laid 16:39.720 --> 16:41.720 Waste and brought to silence 16:41.720 --> 16:43.720 So notice this message he's saying hey 16:43.720 --> 16:45.720 You guys are just going to get wiped out in one 16:45.760 --> 16:47.760 Night and right now you have 16:47.760 --> 16:49.760 Ker and you have moab and you have 16:49.760 --> 16:51.760 These cities and they're bustling and they're full 16:51.760 --> 16:53.760 Of life but just in one night all of a sudden 16:53.760 --> 16:55.760 It's just going to be silence 16:55.760 --> 16:57.760 Because of the destruction that is 16:57.760 --> 16:59.760 Coming upon you then in verse 2 16:59.760 --> 17:01.760 It says he that pronoun is 17:01.760 --> 17:03.760 Referring to moab as a whole 17:03.760 --> 17:05.760 Sometimes the bible will use that 17:05.760 --> 17:07.760 Personal pronoun to just describe a whole 17:07.760 --> 17:09.760 Nation it says he 17:09.760 --> negative 17:41.840 --> 17:43.840 Message given someone that they would 17:43.840 --> 17:45.840 Turn to the Lord that they would turn 17:45.840 --> 17:47.840 To the true God of this world 17:47.840 --> 17:49.840 In repentance and in sorrow 17:49.840 --> 17:51.840 And in asking God for mercy 17:51.840 --> 17:53.840 But you know there's some people in this world 17:53.840 --> 17:55.840 Where they hear a negative message from the bible 17:55.840 --> 17:57.840 And they feel something 17:57.840 --> 17:59.840 They have an emotional reaction 17:59.840 --> 18:01.840 They're upset but they turn 18:01.840 --> 18:03.840 To the wrong things 18:03.840 --> 18:05.840 Right so they get this negative message 18:05.840 --> 18:07.840 And what do they do they go to badjif 18:07.840 --> 18:09.840 And to dive on you say what is 18:09.880 --> 18:11.880 That we'll look at the next few words 18:11.880 --> 18:13.880 The high places so what are 18:13.880 --> 18:15.880 These these are temples for 18:15.880 --> 18:17.880 False gods this can represent 18:17.880 --> 18:19.880 False religion and some people 18:19.880 --> 18:21.880 Today boy oh boy are they emotional 18:21.880 --> 18:23.880 About their false religion 18:23.880 --> 18:25.880 And boy oh boy do they feel 18:25.880 --> 18:27.880 Something in their bosom about their 18:27.880 --> 18:29.880 False religion but you know what being 18:29.880 --> 18:31.880 Emotional doesn't cut it when it comes 18:31.880 --> 18:33.880 To being right with God hey it's great 18:33.880 --> 18:35.880 To be emotional but we want to be emotional 18:35.880 --> 18:37.880 About the right things we want to turn 18:37.920 --> 18:39.920 To the right things when we are wrong 18:39.920 --> 18:41.920 Notice what it says in verse 3 18:41.920 --> 18:43.920 In their streets they shall 18:43.920 --> 18:45.920 Gird themselves with sackcloth 18:45.920 --> 18:47.920 That's pretty extreme right 18:47.920 --> 18:49.920 On the tops of their houses 18:49.920 --> 18:51.920 And in their streets everyone 18:51.920 --> 18:53.920 Shall howl 18:53.920 --> 18:55.920 Weeping abundantly 18:55.920 --> 18:57.920 I mean imagine that scene 18:57.920 --> 18:59.920 This is a very distraught people 18:59.920 --> 19:01.920 Right here this is not the person 19:01.920 --> 19:03.920 Out soul winning that's just like 19:03.920 --> 19:05.920 I don't care close the door I mean 19:05.960 --> 19:07.960 These people are moved greatly 19:07.960 --> 19:09.960 Emotionally the whole city 19:09.960 --> 19:11.960 They're out weeping they're howling 19:11.960 --> 19:13.960 I mean when I when I think of 19:13.960 --> 19:15.960 Someone howling I mean I think of like 19:15.960 --> 19:17.960 A woman in labor or something just 19:17.960 --> 19:19.960 Howling and weeping that's how 19:19.960 --> 19:21.960 Emotionally affected they are 19:21.960 --> 19:23.960 By the fact that God is coming 19:23.960 --> 19:25.960 Down on them look at verse number 19:25.960 --> 19:27.960 Four it
