18:05.000 --> 18:09.000
He just started walking and he's all ready to find her.

18:10.000 --> 18:12.000
Hi, Mama!

18:16.000 --> 18:19.000
I bet she's been walking all this walk.

18:24.000 --> 18:26.000
Hi, little baby!

18:30.000 --> 18:32.000
Hi, Mama!

18:34.000 --> 18:36.000
Hi, Mama!

18:38.000 --> 18:40.000
Hi, Mama!

18:42.000 --> 18:44.000
Hi, Mama!

18:46.000 --> 18:48.000
Hi, Mama!

18:50.000 --> 18:52.000
Hi, Mama!

18:54.000 --> 18:56.000
Hi, Mama!

18:56.000 --> 18:58.000
Hi, Mama!

19:00.000 --> 19:02.000
Hi, Mama!

19:04.000 --> 19:06.000
Hi, Mama!

19:08.000 --> 19:10.000
Hi, Mama!

19:12.000 --> 19:14.000
Hi, Mama!

19:16.000 --> 19:18.000
Hi, Mama!

19:20.000 --> 19:22.000
Hi, Mama!

19:22.000 --> 19:24.000
Hi, Mama!

19:26.000 --> 19:28.000
Hi, Mama!

19:30.000 --> 19:32.000
Hi, Mama!

19:34.000 --> 19:36.000
Hi, Mama!

19:38.000 --> 19:40.000
Hi, Mama!

19:42.000 --> 19:44.000
Hi, Mama!

19:46.000 --> 19:50.000
Baptist Church, if you guys want to go ahead and find your hymnals, we're going to turn to page number 66.

19:52.000 --> 20:00.000
Page number 66 at Calvary.

20:00.000 --> 20:08.000
Page number 66.

20:08.000 --> 20:16.000
Years I spent in vanity and pride,

20:16.000 --> 20:21.000
Caring not my Lord was crucified,

20:21.000 --> 20:30.000
Knowing not it was for me, He died on Calvary.

20:30.000 --> 20:35.000
Mercy there was great and grace was free,

20:35.000 --> 20:40.000
Harden there was multiply to me,

20:40.000 --> 20:49.000
There my burdened soul found liberty at Calvary.

20:49.000 --> 20:54.000
By God's word at last my sin I learned,

20:54.000 --> 20:59.000
Then I trembled that the lights burned,

20:59.000 --> 21:08.000
Till my guilty soul and glory turned to Calvary.

21:08.000 --> 21:13.000
Mercy there was great and grace was free,

21:13.000 --> 21:18.000
Harden there was multiply to me,

21:18.000 --> 21:27.000
There my burdened soul found liberty at Calvary.

21:27.000 --> 21:32.000
O the love that drew salvation's plan,

21:32.000 --> 21:37.000
O the grace that brought it down to man,

21:37.000 --> 21:46.000
O the mighty gulf that God did spend at Calvary.

21:46.000 --> 21:51.000
Mercy there was great and grace was free,

21:51.000 --> 21:56.000
Harden there was multiply to me,

21:56.000 --> 22:05.000
There my burdened soul found liberty at Calvary.

22:05.000 --> 22:10.000
Now I give to Jesus everything,

22:10.000 --> 22:15.000
Now I gladly own Him as my King,

22:15.000 --> 22:24.000
Now my raptured soul can only sing of Calvary.

22:24.000 --> 22:29.000
Mercy there was great and grace was free,

22:29.000 --> 22:34.000
Harden there was multiply to me,

22:34.000 --> 22:43.000
There my burdened soul found liberty at Calvary.

22:44.000 --> 22:46.000
Alright, excellent singing everybody.

22:46.000 --> 22:48.000
Will the pulcher please open us up in order to prayer?

22:48.000 --> 22:50.000
Thank you Father, thank you so much for this day.

22:50.000 --> 22:52.000
Thank you so much for those who are willing to make it.

22:52.000 --> 22:54.000
We just pray for the health and safe travels

22:54.000 --> 22:56.000
and have all the members of Jesus name and amen.

22:56.000 --> 22:58.000
Amen.

22:58.000 --> 23:00.000
Alright, if you want to take your hymnals,

23:00.000 --> 23:05.000
we're going to turn to page number 31.

23:05.000 --> 23:11.000
It's page number 31, He Lives.

23:11.000 --> 23:14.000
Page number 31.

23:14.000 --> 23:34.000
I serve a risen Savior, He's in the world today.

23:34.000 --> 23:40.000
I know that He is living whatever men may say.

23:40.000 --> 23:46.000
I see His hand of mercy, I hear His voice of cheer.

23:46.000 --> 23:51.000
And just the time I need Him, He's always near.

23:51.000 --> 23:57.000
He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today.

23:57.000 --> 24:03.000
He walks with me and talks with me along life's narrow way.

24:03.000 --> 24:10.000
He lives, He lives, salvation to impart.

24:10.000 --> 24:16.000
You ask me how I know He lives.

24:16.000 --> 24:22.000
He lives within my heart.

24:22.000 --> 24:28.000
In all the world around me I see His loving care.

24:28.000 --> 24:34.000
And though my heart grows weary, I never will despair.

24:34.000 --> 24:40.000
I know that He is leading through all the stormy blasts.

24:40.000 --> 24:45.000
The day of His appearing will come at last.

24:45.000 --> 24:51.000
He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today.

24:51.000 --> 24:57.000
He walks with me and talks with me along life's narrow way.

24:57.000 --> 25:04.000
He lives, He lives, salvation to impart.

25:04.000 --> 25:10.000
You ask me how I know He lives.

25:10.000 --> 25:15.000
He lives within my heart.

25:15.000 --> 25:21.000
Rejoice, rejoice, O Christian, lift up your voice and sing.

25:21.000 --> 25:27.000
Eternal hallelujahs to Jesus Christ the King.

25:27.000 --> 25:33.000
The hope of all who seek Him, the help of all who find.

25:33.000 --> 25:39.000
None other is so loving, so good and kind.

25:39.000 --> 25:45.000
He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today.

25:45.000 --> 25:51.000
He walks with me and talks with me along life's narrow way.

25:51.000 --> 25:58.000
He lives, He lives, salvation to impart.

25:58.000 --> 26:04.000
You ask me how I know He lives.

26:04.000 --> 26:10.000
He lives within my heart.

26:10.000 --> 26:14.000
Alright, excellent singing everybody. This time we will have our announcements.

Alright, kids, your current verse is Psalms 59 verse 17.

27:45.000 --> 27:47.000
Psalms 59 verse 17.

27:47.000 --> 27:53.000
Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing, for God is my defense and the God of my mercy.

27:53.000 --> 27:56.000
That's Psalms 59 verse 17.

And let's turn to the Lord in prayer.

28:32.000 --> 28:34.000
Amen.

29:02.000 --> 29:30.000
Alright, if you want to take your psalm books or your bibles and turn to Psalm 150,

29:30.000 --> 29:34.000
Turn to Psalm 150.

29:41.000 --> 29:45.000
Psalm 150.

29:53.000 --> 29:57.000
Psalm 150.

29:58.000 --> 30:02.000
We'll sing it out on the first.

30:08.000 --> 30:24.000
Praise ye the Lord, Praise God in his sanctuary, Praise him in the firmament of his power,

30:24.000 --> 30:36.000
Praise him for his mighty acts, Praise him according to his excellent greatness,

30:36.000 --> 30:52.000
Praise him with the sound of the trumpet, Praise him with the psaltery and harp,

30:52.000 --> 31:04.000
Praise him with the timbrel and dance, Praise him with stringed instruments and organs,

31:04.000 --> 31:20.000
Praise him upon the loud cymbals, Praise him upon the high sounding cymbals,

31:20.000 --> 31:33.000
Let everything that hath breath, Praise the Lord, Praise he the Lord.

31:33.000 --> 31:36.000
Alright, excellent singing everybody.

31:36.000 --> 31:39.000
Brother Paul, would you please pray for the offering?

31:39.000 --> 31:42.000
Brother Paul, we thank you so much for all we have and those who remember the Lord.

31:42.000 --> 31:47.000
Be faithful to me as you stand fighting and you will see the blessings which I can give you.

31:47.000 --> 31:49.000
Amen.

31:49.000 --> 31:51.000
Thank you.

32:19.000 --> 32:31.000
Good morning everyone.

32:31.000 --> 32:36.000
Go ahead and take your Bibles and turn to Matthew chapter 20.

32:36.000 --> 32:40.000
Matthew chapter 20 will be our text this morning.

32:40.000 --> 32:45.000
And as always here at our church we read the entire chapter before the preaching.

32:45.000 --> 32:50.000
Matthew chapter 20, the Bible reads,

32:50.000 --> 32:55.000
For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder,

32:55.000 --> 32:59.000
Which went out early in the morning to hire laborers into his vineyard.

32:59.000 --> 33:05.000
And when he had agreed with the laborers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.

33:05.000 --> 33:13.000
And he went out, and he went out about the third hour and saw others standing idle in the marketplace,

33:13.000 --> 33:20.000
And said unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give it you.

33:20.000 --> 33:23.000
And they went their way.

33:23.000 --> 33:29.000
And again, again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour and did likewise.

33:29.000 --> 33:33.000
And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing idle,

33:33.000 --> 33:37.000
And saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?

33:37.000 --> 33:41.000
They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us.

33:41.000 --> 33:48.000
He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right that shall ye receive.

33:48.000 --> 33:53.000
So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward,

33:53.000 --> 33:59.000
Call the laborers and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first.

33:59.000 --> 34:06.000
And when they came that were hired, and when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour,

34:06.000 --> 34:08.000
They received every man a penny.

34:08.000 --> 34:13.000
But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more,

34:13.000 --> 34:16.000
And they likewise received every man a penny.

34:16.000 --> 34:21.000
And when they had received it, they murmured against the good men of the house,

34:21.000 --> 34:27.000
Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us,

34:27.000 --> 34:30.000
Which have borne the burden of the heat of the day.

34:30.000 --> 34:34.000
But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong.

34:34.000 --> 34:37.000
Dost thou not agree with me for a penny?

34:37.000 --> 34:40.000
Take that as thine, and go thy way.

34:40.000 --> 34:44.000
I will give unto this last, even as unto thee.

34:44.000 --> 34:48.000
Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own?

34:48.000 --> 34:52.000
Is thine eye evil because I am good?

34:52.000 --> 34:56.000
So the last shall be first, and the first last.

34:56.000 --> 34:59.000
For many be called, but few chosen.

35:00.000 --> 35:05.000
And Jesus, going up to Jerusalem, took the twelve disciples apart in the way,

35:05.000 --> 35:09.000
And said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem,

35:09.000 --> 35:14.000
And the Son of Man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes,

35:14.000 --> 35:19.000
And they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles,

35:19.000 --> 35:26.000
To mock and to scourge and to crucify him, and the third day he shall rise again.

35:26.000 --> 35:30.000
Then came to him the mother of Zebedee's children with her sons,

35:30.000 --> 35:34.000
Worshiping him and desiring a certain thing of him.

35:34.000 --> 35:37.000
And he said unto her, What wilt thou?

35:37.000 --> 35:41.000
She saith unto him, Grant that these two, my two sons,

35:41.000 --> 35:47.000
May sit the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left in thy kingdom.

35:47.000 --> 35:51.000
But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask.

35:51.000 --> 35:54.000
Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of,

35:54.000 --> 35:58.000
And to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?

35:58.000 --> 36:01.000
They say unto him, We are able.

36:01.000 --> 36:05.000
And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup,

36:05.000 --> 36:09.000
And be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with.

36:09.000 --> 36:14.000
But to sit on my right hand and on my left is not mine to give,

36:14.000 --> 36:18.000
But it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.

36:19.000 --> 36:24.000
And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation against the two brethren.

36:24.000 --> 36:27.000
But Jesus called them unto him and said,

36:27.000 --> 36:32.000
Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them,

36:32.000 --> 36:37.000
And they that are great exercise authority upon them.

36:37.000 --> 36:39.000
But it shall be not so among you.

36:39.000 --> 36:45.000
But whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister.

36:45.000 --> 36:50.000
And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant.

36:50.000 --> 36:54.000
Even as the Son of Man came not to be ministered unto,

36:54.000 --> 36:58.000
But to minister and to give his life a ransom for many.

36:58.000 --> 37:03.000
And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed him.

37:03.000 --> 37:07.000
And behold, two blind men sitting by the wayside,

37:07.000 --> 37:11.000
When they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out saying,

37:11.000 --> 37:14.000
Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David.

37:14.000 --> 37:18.000
And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace.

37:18.000 --> 37:23.000
But they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David.

37:23.000 --> 37:27.000
And Jesus stood still and called them and said,

37:27.000 --> 37:30.000
What will ye that I should do unto you?

37:30.000 --> 37:34.000
And they said unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.

37:34.000 --> 37:38.000
So Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes,

37:38.000 --> 37:43.000
And immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.

37:43.000 --> 37:46.000
Brother Paul, could you pray for the preaching?

37:46.000 --> 37:50.000
Brother Paul, thank you so much for allowing us to be here, to hear you a word read to us.

37:50.000 --> 37:54.000
But may our ears be opened now because the message builds off this chapter.

37:54.000 --> 37:58.000
May our minds be expanded, may our hearts be refreshed,

37:58.000 --> 38:01.000
And may the Lord be honored with this sermon. Jesus' name, Amen.

38:01.000 --> 38:05.000
Amen. All right, so we're here, we're there in Matthew chapter number 20.

38:05.000 --> 38:10.000
But I want to have you go ahead and turn to Ecclesiastes chapter number 9.

38:10.000 --> 38:14.000
And the title of my sermon this morning is, Life Just Isn't Fair.

38:14.000 --> 38:17.000
Life Just Is Not Fair.

38:17.000 --> 38:22.000
And we're going to be coming back to Matthew chapter number 20 to kind of go over that story a little bit.

38:22.000 --> 38:26.000
But here in Ecclesiastes chapter number 9, verse number 11,

38:26.000 --> 38:30.000
The Bible reads, it says, I returned and saw unto the sun,

38:30.000 --> 38:35.000
That the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong,

38:35.000 --> 38:40.000
Neither yet bred to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding,

38:40.000 --> 38:47.000
Nor yet favor to men of skill, but time and chance happeneth to them all.

38:47.000 --> 38:52.000
And so this verse in Ecclesiastes chapter number 9 is telling us,

38:52.000 --> 38:58.000
Look, sometimes in life, the outcomes are not always as we think that they should be.

38:58.000 --> 39:03.000
You know, every once in a while, the guy that's the strongest or the guy that's the fastest,

39:03.000 --> 39:08.000
He doesn't actually win the race for whatever reason.

39:08.000 --> 39:13.000
Maybe that guy got injured or maybe a bug flew in his throat or something.

39:13.000 --> 39:20.000
Who knows? There's all kinds of reasons why he might not have won, or the battle to the strong.

39:20.000 --> 39:26.000
Maybe the most skilled army didn't win for whatever reason.

39:26.000 --> 39:31.000
Maybe the other commander was just more clever, or maybe the terrain was fake.

39:31.000 --> 39:34.000
There's all kinds of different reasons, right?

39:34.000 --> 39:39.000
And at the end of this verse here, there's a very interesting phrase that says,

39:39.000 --> 39:43.000
Time and chance happeneth to them all.

39:43.000 --> 39:49.000
And here the Bible is, I would say, it's referring to what we would call luck.

39:49.000 --> 39:53.000
And a lot of people, they'll come to this conclusion that says,

39:53.000 --> 39:56.000
Hey, luck isn't real. I don't believe in luck.

39:56.000 --> 39:58.000
But the thing about it is, and a lot of people will say,

39:58.000 --> 40:02.000
I don't believe in luck because I'm a Christian or whatever.

40:02.000 --> 40:06.000
But the reality is that the Bible teaches that there is such thing as luck.

40:06.000 --> 40:11.000
Time and chance happeneth to them all.

40:11.000 --> 40:18.000
And so a lot of people, they have this idea that they want life to be fair.

40:18.000 --> 40:22.000
And we all generally have this idea that we want life to be fair. Amen.

40:22.000 --> 40:25.000
We want to see things that are fair happen in the world.

40:25.000 --> 40:29.000
Especially if we're the recipients of the unfairness.

40:29.000 --> 40:33.000
If we feel that we've been wronged in some way and life isn't just like...

40:33.000 --> 40:37.000
But if we're receiving, if we got the luck of the draw, then we're like,

40:37.000 --> 40:41.000
Life isn't fair, but that's just how it is. I want.

40:41.000 --> 40:44.000
But whenever we're the recipients of the unfairness, we're like,

40:44.000 --> 40:46.000
Hey, why isn't life fair?

40:46.000 --> 40:50.000
Well, the reality of the world is that life isn't fair.

40:50.000 --> 40:53.000
That's just the way it is.

40:53.000 --> 40:57.000
Sometimes you might have been the best person for a position,

40:57.000 --> 41:00.000
and somebody else got the position, right?

41:00.000 --> 41:07.000
There could be situations where some bum wins the lottery or something like that.

41:07.000 --> 41:11.000
It's like, well, how could this idiot here win the lottery?

41:11.000 --> 41:16.000
And when he has done nothing good in his life, he's provided nothing for society,

41:16.000 --> 41:19.000
but yet he got all these riches.

41:19.000 --> 41:21.000
This isn't fair, right?

41:21.000 --> 41:26.000
But the reality, we have to realize that God,

41:26.000 --> 41:29.000
he's in overall control of the universe.

41:29.000 --> 41:33.000
He created the universe. He holds everything together.

41:33.000 --> 41:40.000
But we need to realize that God is not orchestrating every single event that happens in life.

41:40.000 --> 41:45.000
I mean, we can't sit here and when something bad happens, blame God.

41:45.000 --> 41:49.000
When something bad happens, we can't sit here and blame God for it

41:49.000 --> 41:52.000
and say, well, why didn't he make this fair?

41:52.000 --> 41:56.000
Why didn't God intervene and make this right?

41:56.000 --> 42:01.000
And so go ahead and turn to Ecclesiastes chapter number 10.

42:01.000 --> 42:08.000
So the point of my sermon is we need to realize that life isn't fair,

42:08.000 --> 42:11.000
and we shouldn't be blaming God for that, right?

42:11.000 --> 42:17.000
Because God is not making everything happen in our lives.

42:17.000 --> 42:21.000
We do need to realize that God, he is involved in our lives.

42:21.000 --> 42:25.000
I'm not here to say that nothing in your life happens because of God.

42:25.000 --> 42:28.000
There are many things that happen in life because of God.

42:28.000 --> 42:35.000
However, we can't sit here and attribute everything that goes on in the world to God.

42:35.000 --> 42:38.000
Because think about all the wickedness that goes on in this world.

42:38.000 --> 42:41.000
Are we going to sit here and blame God for that? Absolutely not.

42:41.000 --> 42:45.000
And think about all the bad things that have happened to you

42:45.000 --> 42:48.000
directly because of your decisions.

42:48.000 --> 42:51.000
Has anything bad happened because of your decisions in your life?

42:51.000 --> 42:56.000
Yeah. You know, I've had bad things that have happened to me. Why?

42:56.000 --> 43:00.000
Because of the guy in the mirror, right? Because I did something dumb, right?

43:00.000 --> 43:05.000
But there's also other things that happened in our lives that happened

43:05.000 --> 43:09.000
not necessarily because you made a bad decision because you did something wrong.

43:09.000 --> 43:13.000
It was just the luck of the draw, right?

43:13.000 --> 43:18.000
You know, people have gotten into different car accidents and what not.

43:18.000 --> 43:22.000
You know, like I was in a car accident several months ago

43:22.000 --> 43:27.000
where I stopped because there was a car in front of me that stopped.

43:27.000 --> 43:29.000
And then I get hit.

43:29.000 --> 43:32.000
Now, was that like, you know, am I going to sit here and be like,

43:32.000 --> 43:36.000
well, God didn't protect me from you having this car accident.

43:36.000 --> 43:42.000
No, because God wasn't necessarily just controlling the guy behind me

43:42.000 --> 43:45.000
and his driving, right?

43:45.000 --> 43:51.000
But maybe God could have caused the guy to swerve or make him pay attention or whatever.

43:51.000 --> 43:54.000
Maybe he could have done that, but he didn't.

43:54.000 --> 43:58.000
But I'm not going to sit here and blame God and be like, well, that's not fair.

43:58.000 --> 44:03.000
Because look, time and chance happeneth to them all.

44:03.000 --> 44:07.000
Was it very likely for me to get into a car accident?

44:07.000 --> 44:10.000
No, but it happened.

44:10.000 --> 44:14.000
Time and chance happeneth to them all.

44:14.000 --> 44:18.000
But in Ecclesiastes number 10, verse number 5, it says,

44:38.000 --> 44:42.000
And so what the Bible here is saying is that, you know,

44:42.000 --> 44:47.000
basically the Ecclesiastes, or, you know, Solomon,

44:47.000 --> 44:52.000
he's saying, look, I've seen the world backwards at times.

44:52.000 --> 44:58.000
It's like where you have some fool, he's in a place of authority.

44:58.000 --> 45:02.000
And then the guy that's really smart, he's like a servant.

45:02.000 --> 45:05.000
It's like, why is this happening? This doesn't seem fair.

45:05.000 --> 45:10.000
And, you know, we can see this in our world today

45:10.000 --> 45:15.000
where you have all kinds of people in positions of authority that are just fools.

45:15.000 --> 45:22.000
I mean, you think about all the people in our government

45:22.000 --> 45:25.000
that it seems like they're complete morons,

45:25.000 --> 45:27.000
but yet they've been put into this position of power,

45:27.000 --> 45:30.000
like the head of the FBI or something.

45:30.000 --> 45:31.000
AOC.

45:31.000 --> 45:35.000
Yeah, how did AOC, how is she a congressman?

45:35.000 --> 45:39.000
I mean, she has an IQ, you know, north of 60,

45:39.000 --> 45:42.000
and it's like, how did she become a congressman?

45:42.000 --> 45:45.000
But it's just the way the world works sometimes.

45:45.000 --> 45:48.000
You know, you can get a complete moron into a position of power.

45:48.000 --> 45:52.000
It's like, you know, how did this happen?

45:52.000 --> 45:54.000
What in the world?

45:54.000 --> 45:58.000
And, you know, but you'll have somebody that's like really smart, you know,

45:58.000 --> 46:03.000
and they don't get into that position of power, but then you have some fool, right?

46:03.000 --> 46:07.000
And, you know, you see this through like different corruptions and whatnot in our world,

46:07.000 --> 46:11.000
and unfortunately it's just the way the world is.

46:11.000 --> 46:15.000
Because we live in a sinful world, right,

46:15.000 --> 46:18.000
this is the type of stuff that's going to go on.

46:18.000 --> 46:23.000
And, you know, you can see that kind of thing happening in your life on a smaller level, right?

46:23.000 --> 46:27.000
It's something that we just have to deal with as human beings.

46:27.000 --> 46:31.000
And here's the thing, you know, life isn't fair, the world's not fair,

46:31.000 --> 46:36.000
but, you know, especially as saved Christians, you know, we should be able to deal with it.

46:36.000 --> 46:38.000
Because we should be able to realize, well, guess what?

46:38.000 --> 46:44.000
We're actually major recipients of, you know, the lack of fairness, right?

46:44.000 --> 46:52.000
Because, you know, is it fair for Jesus to kind of suffer and pay the penalty for my sin?

46:52.000 --> 46:55.000
And then I just get, I don't have to pay for my sin at all?

46:55.000 --> 46:58.000
Is that fair? No, that's not fair.

46:58.000 --> 47:01.000
And so we're massive recipients of lack of fairness.

47:01.000 --> 47:09.000
So, you know, as saved Christians, you know, we shouldn't be sitting around lamenting the fact that life isn't fair,

47:09.000 --> 47:13.000
because we're major beneficiaries of that fact, that life isn't fair,

47:13.000 --> 47:19.000
that Jesus took the unfair punishment, you know, that we deserved upon himself and took it for us.

47:19.000 --> 47:22.000
And we don't have to suffer those consequences.

47:22.000 --> 47:30.000
Now, you know, so when we're suffering through life, you know, the fact that unfair things happen,

47:30.000 --> 47:32.000
we should be able to deal with those things.

47:32.000 --> 47:37.000
Now, the unsaved world, you know, it shouldn't surprise us,

47:37.000 --> 47:40.000
it shouldn't shock us when they're upset that the world isn't fair,

47:40.000 --> 47:46.000
because at the end of the day, you know, if they don't get saved, they're going to have to pay for their sins.

47:46.000 --> 47:51.000
And they're going to have to get that divine justice from God and go to hell, unfortunately for them, right?

47:51.000 --> 47:57.000
And so, you know, we as Christians though, we should be able to look at the world and be like,

47:57.000 --> 48:02.000
well, this thing happened, it's not fair, but I'm not going to get upset about it,

48:02.000 --> 48:08.000
I'm not going to freak out about it, because, you know, I'm benefiting from the lack of fairness,

48:08.000 --> 48:16.000
from the fact that God, you know, put that punishment on Jesus Christ for us, which wasn't fair,

48:16.000 --> 48:19.000
but we get to benefit from that, amen?

48:19.000 --> 48:23.000
And so, but, you know, as human beings, I think I was kind of mentioning this earlier,

48:23.000 --> 48:25.000
go ahead and turn to 1 Peter chapter 1.

48:25.000 --> 48:29.000
You know, as, actually, 1 Peter chapter number 2.

48:29.000 --> 48:33.000
If I could get a glass of water, that would be fantastic.

48:33.000 --> 48:41.000
So, here in 1 Peter chapter number 2, verse number 20, it says,

48:41.000 --> 48:42.000
It says,

48:56.000 --> 49:04.000
So, the Bible here, you know, it's contrasting, you know, taking suffering and being buffeted for your faults,

49:04.000 --> 49:12.000
in other words, what you did wrong, contrasting that with being buffeted for things that you did right, right?

49:12.000 --> 49:19.000
Because some, you know, and, you know, this doesn't happen, you know, I would say, especially in 2026 America,

49:19.000 --> 49:22.000
this isn't happening, like, a ton, okay?

49:22.000 --> 49:27.000
It's not like my, I can't sit here and say, like, my whole life I've just been doing everything right

49:27.000 --> 49:32.000
and doing everything correct, and every time I do something correct, I get punished for it, you know?

49:32.000 --> 49:38.000
You know, personally, I can't really say that, you know, maybe every once in a while something like that happens.

49:40.000 --> 49:42.000
But it is a reality, amen?

49:42.000 --> 49:45.000
Sometimes in life, things like that do happen.

49:45.000 --> 49:52.000
And in other places, in other times in history, I'm sure it happened to people a lot more than it's happening to 2026 Christians, amen?

49:52.000 --> 50:02.000
And so, you know, the Bible is saying that this is a reality where, you know, you could do something that is right in the sight of God,

50:02.000 --> 50:10.000
do something that's correct, and, you know, it seems like you're punished for it, like something bad happens as a result of it.

50:10.000 --> 50:16.000
You know, and I guess a good example of this would be when we're out soul hunting, if somebody just, like, freaks out, like,

50:16.000 --> 50:21.000
You know, it's like, oh man, you know, no good deed goes unpunished.

50:21.000 --> 50:28.000
Well, you know, that happens every once in a while, and honestly, that's not a big deal, especially if you've been soul hunting for a while.

50:28.000 --> 50:30.000
You just, you kind of get used to it, right?

50:30.000 --> 50:37.000
You know, every once in a while somebody just really explodes, and it's like, whoa, like, what happened here?

50:37.000 --> 50:40.000
Like, you need, do you need, like, counseling?

50:40.000 --> 50:45.000
You know, like, you know, like, you know, you need, like, counseling?

50:45.000 --> 50:49.000
Or, like, or maybe a padded box?

50:49.000 --> 50:55.000
We're not sure, but it's like, you know, you know, so every once in a while things like this happen, right?

50:55.000 --> 51:03.000
But, you know, honestly, you know, we're not dealing with, like, actual real persecution where, you know, we're physically suffering or anything like that.

51:03.000 --> 51:05.000
We just have somebody freak out on us every once in a while.

51:05.000 --> 51:07.000
Maybe somebody will call the cops or whatever.

51:07.000 --> 51:11.000
And it's like, you know, did we really deserve that?

51:11.000 --> 51:12.000
No, we didn't.

51:12.000 --> 51:13.000
But here's the thing.

51:13.000 --> 51:15.000
Life isn't fair.

51:15.000 --> 51:17.000
It's simply, it's not fair.

51:17.000 --> 51:18.000
Right?

51:18.000 --> 51:20.000
And so, you know, we should be able to put up with it.

51:20.000 --> 51:28.000
And look, the thing about it is that this is, the Bible says here, when you take it patiently, you know, this is acceptable with God.

51:28.000 --> 51:29.000
Right?

51:29.000 --> 51:40.000
So when somebody just freaks out on us, right, flips out on us at the door, you know, the proper response is probably not to flip them off, but to take it patiently.

51:40.000 --> 51:41.000
Right?

51:41.000 --> 51:43.000
Just take it patiently.

51:43.000 --> 51:47.000
Let it, you know, it should be like water off a duck's back.

51:47.000 --> 51:49.000
You know, just don't worry about it.

51:49.000 --> 51:52.000
You know, and don't let it, you know, consume.

51:52.000 --> 51:56.000
And there's, there is this temptation, you know, where you just kind of dwell on it.

51:56.000 --> 51:57.000
Oh, that guy.

51:57.000 --> 52:00.000
Oh, oh, how can't he see how wrong he is?

52:00.000 --> 52:03.000
You know, there's this temptation to kind of dwell on these things.

52:03.000 --> 52:18.000
But honestly, you know, when, when injustices happen, when lack of fairness happens in our lives, you know, one thing that we shouldn't do is just sit there and dwell on it and just think about it and let it, and let it, you know, let it simmer in our minds, whatever.

52:18.000 --> 52:20.000
Because for one, it's not going to do you any good.

52:20.000 --> 52:22.000
It's not going to help you at all.

52:22.000 --> 52:25.000
You know, you should just forget about those things.

52:25.000 --> 52:26.000
Let it go.

52:26.000 --> 52:28.000
Maybe have a laugh about it.

52:28.000 --> 52:29.000
Right?

52:30.000 --> 52:34.000
You know, I oftentimes enjoy coming back from soul wedding and just talking about the crazy thing that happened.

52:34.000 --> 52:43.000
Like the crazy guy that was just standing out by his door and be like, hey, don't come to my door with that Bible, talking to me about God.

52:43.000 --> 52:45.000
You know, these, these crazy people, right?

52:45.000 --> 52:49.000
It's, you know, sometimes it's fun to come back and talk about those things.

52:49.000 --> 52:53.000
But you do want to avoid letting those things bother you.

52:53.000 --> 53:00.000
You know, when you lay down your head on your pillow at night, you don't want to be thinking about all the injustices that happen to you during the day.

53:00.000 --> 53:01.000
Right.

53:01.000 --> 53:02.000
Right?

53:02.000 --> 53:05.000
Because for one, you're probably not going to be able to do anything about it.

53:05.000 --> 53:07.000
You're not going to change the outcome.

53:07.000 --> 53:10.000
You're not going to be able to fix the situation, especially if it's some freak out soul wedding.

53:10.000 --> 53:11.000
Right?

53:11.000 --> 53:12.000
You can't fix it.

53:12.000 --> 53:14.000
There's nothing you can do about it.

53:14.000 --> 53:16.000
So don't think about it.

53:16.000 --> 53:17.000
Just let it go.

53:17.000 --> 53:24.000
Because, you know, you're just causing yourself more stress, more heartache for no reason.

53:24.000 --> 53:26.000
You're suffering for free.

53:26.000 --> 53:28.000
You know, my wife always says, like, I'm drunk.

53:28.000 --> 53:31.000
You're drowning in a glass of water.

53:31.000 --> 53:33.000
There's no there's no reason for it.

53:33.000 --> 53:38.000
OK, it's it's it's it's just, you know, just forget about it and move on.

53:38.000 --> 53:39.000
Right.

53:39.000 --> 53:44.000
But but we as human beings, you know, we have a there's a strong desire for fairness.

53:44.000 --> 53:45.000
Right.

53:45.000 --> 53:48.000
And go ahead and turn to Matthew, chapter number 20.

53:48.000 --> 53:57.000
It's inhuman nature that, you know, we, you know, if we feel that we've been wronged or whatever, we have a we have a strong desire for things to be fair.

53:57.000 --> 53:58.000
Amen.

54:00.000 --> 54:11.000
And there's a story that kind of connects to this here in Matthew, chapter number 20, which is, of course, the chapter we read for for the for the preaching.

54:11.000 --> 54:22.000
It says in Matthew, chapter number 20, verse number one, it says, For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is in householder, which went out early in the morning to hire laborers into his vineyard.

54:22.000 --> 54:29.000
And when he had agreed with the laborers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.

54:29.000 --> 54:33.000
So basically, you know, there's a guy he owns a vineyard and he's hiring laborers.

54:33.000 --> 54:34.000
Right.

54:34.000 --> 54:40.000
And he said, and he agrees to pay them a certain amount, you know, a day's a day's worth of labor, whatever.

54:40.000 --> 54:42.000
Which is apparently is a penny back in that time.

54:42.000 --> 54:46.000
Probably, probably at least a Canadian wheat penny or something like that.

54:46.000 --> 54:50.000
I don't know if that's Canadian or if it's just, I don't know.

54:50.000 --> 54:55.000
I'll have to ask Bill Sweeney about, you know, he'll know.

54:55.000 --> 55:09.000
But anyways, verse number three says, And he went out the third hour and saw other standing idle in the marketplace and said unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard whatsoever is right, I will give you.

55:09.000 --> 55:10.000
And they went their way.

55:10.000 --> 55:14.000
And again, he went out to six hour and the ninth hour and did likewise.

55:14.000 --> 55:24.000
And about the eleventh hour, he went out and found others standing idle and sayeth unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?

55:24.000 --> 55:27.000
They said unto him, Because no man hath hired us.

55:27.000 --> 55:33.000
He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive.

55:33.000 --> 55:44.000
And when even was come, the Lord of the vineyard said unto his steward, Call the laborers and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first.

55:44.000 --> 55:50.000
And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny.

55:50.000 --> 55:56.000
And when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more.

55:56.000 --> 56:00.000
And they likewise received every man a penny.

56:00.000 --> 56:08.000
And when they had received it, they murmured against the good man of the house, saying, These last have wrought but one hour.

56:08.000 --> 56:19.000
And thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden, excuse me, I can't read for some reason, which have borne the burden and heat of the day.

56:19.000 --> 56:25.000
But he answered one of them and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong.

56:25.000 --> 56:27.000
Didst thou agree with me for a penny?

56:27.000 --> 56:29.000
Take that as thine and go thy way.

56:29.000 --> 56:32.000
I will give unto this last even as unto thee.

56:32.000 --> 56:37.000
Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own?

56:37.000 --> 56:42.000
Is thine eye evil because I am good?

56:42.000 --> 56:51.000
So we see here in this story, right, that basically you have the first people that are working for 12 hours for one penny.

56:51.000 --> 56:57.000
And then everybody else that works less time, they're also working for one penny.

56:57.000 --> 57:01.000
You know, and the most egregious, right, would be the people that came in at the last hour.

57:01.000 --> 57:06.000
They worked for 60 minutes and they still got one penny.

57:06.000 --> 57:11.000
And the people that work for 12 hours, they're upset about this, right?

57:11.000 --> 57:14.000
Like, Hey, you know, how come they're getting a penny?

57:14.000 --> 57:17.000
You know, the good man of the house, he's like, Am I a Jew?

57:17.000 --> 57:20.000
Am I supposed to be like a coin clipper or something?

57:20.000 --> 57:22.000
Like, you want me to cut up the penny?

57:22.000 --> 57:24.000
You know, there's ridges on the coins for a reason.

57:29.000 --> 57:34.000
The householder, he's like, Google why there's ridges on the coins.

57:34.000 --> 57:37.000
He's like, you want me to be some kind of a Jew?

57:37.000 --> 57:40.000
Like, you know, to Jew them out of a penny or something, right?

57:40.000 --> 57:49.000
But so, you know, they're basically they're upset because somebody that worked for one hour got the same pay as them.

57:49.000 --> 57:51.000
Now, here's the thing about this.

57:51.000 --> 57:57.000
We might look at that situation and be like, ah, that's not fair.

57:57.000 --> 58:03.000
But really, is it unfair though? Is it really unfair?

58:03.000 --> 58:06.000
I mean, what if, let's think about this.

58:06.000 --> 58:14.000
What if I came in here and I gave, let's say I gave Brother Paul and Brother Ryan, I just gave them both a thousand dollars.

58:14.000 --> 58:17.000
Like, oh, that's fair, right? That's fair.

58:17.000 --> 58:24.000
Okay. What if I gave Ryan a thousand dollars and then Paul, since he left the room, a five hundred dollars?

58:24.000 --> 58:26.000
Would that be fair?

58:26.000 --> 58:30.000
Would there be anything unfair about that?

58:30.000 --> 58:31.000
No.

58:31.000 --> 58:34.000
Okay. What about, what if I did this?

58:34.000 --> 58:44.000
What if I gave every single person in this room, including Mini Paul, a thousand dollars and I gave Paul nothing?

58:45.000 --> 58:47.000
Would that be unfair?

58:47.000 --> 58:54.000
If I just waltzed in here and just started handing out cash, making a rank, you know, except for Paul.

58:54.000 --> 58:57.000
Would that, that wouldn't be unfair. Why?

58:57.000 --> 59:00.000
Because did I do anything wrong to Paul?

59:00.000 --> 59:02.000
I didn't do anything wrong to him.

59:02.000 --> 59:07.000
I just blessed somebody else, right? I blessed everybody else.

59:08.000 --> 59:17.000
Now, somebody might start, you know, somebody might be like, well, what's the deal with, how come Brother Paul didn't get anything?

59:17.000 --> 59:19.000
Brother Paul might be thinking the same thing.

59:19.000 --> 59:21.000
Like, oh, come on, you're going to get anything, right?

59:21.000 --> 59:28.000
Well, you know, but the reality is, is that I didn't do anything wrong to Paul.

59:28.000 --> 59:29.000
Yeah.

59:29.000 --> 59:32.000
Right? So there's nothing actually unfair about this situation.

59:32.000 --> 59:39.000
Now, you know, somebody might perceive it as being unfair, but the reality is, is that if I wanted to give everybody in here a thousand dollars,

59:39.000 --> 59:43.000
except for Brother Paul, there would actually be nothing actually wrong with that.

59:43.000 --> 59:49.000
You know, or if I just gave one person a thousand dollars, you know, and that's the other thing.

59:49.000 --> 59:55.000
It's like, you know, if I gave one person a thousand dollars, probably nobody would blink an eye at that, right?

59:55.000 --> 59:58.000
They'd be like, oh, cool, you know, so and so got a thousand dollars.

59:58.000 --> 01:00:06.000
But if like, if everybody got a thousand dollars except for one person, then it's like, oh, this is, this is unfair.

01:00:06.000 --> 01:00:09.000
But fundamentally, did something different happen?

01:00:09.000 --> 01:00:11.000
I mean, is it something fundamentally different?

01:00:11.000 --> 01:00:13.000
No. Right?

01:00:13.000 --> 01:00:21.000
It's, it's like, you know, the householder, he can give however much money he wants to to each individual.

01:00:21.000 --> 01:00:22.000
Right?

01:00:23.000 --> 01:00:29.000
You know, and also, you know, of course, there's the detail of the fact that he agreed for a penny with the original people

01:00:29.000 --> 01:00:32.000
and the other people had no idea what they were going to get paid.

01:00:32.000 --> 01:00:40.000
But, you know, even without that fact, the reality is, is that the householder can give what he wants to any individual.

01:00:40.000 --> 01:00:48.000
And, you know, God, he can, he can bless the nation of Israel or he can bless individuals however he wants.

01:00:48.000 --> 01:00:49.000
Right?

01:00:49.000 --> 01:00:52.000
He can, he can give one person great riches.

01:00:52.000 --> 01:00:55.000
He can give another person very little riches or no riches.

01:00:56.000 --> 01:01:03.000
And yet, you know, it's, it's still, it's not something that you could really say is unfair.

01:01:03.000 --> 01:01:11.000
Why? Because the reality is, is that all the blessings, however, you know, whatever blessings you compare one to another,

01:01:11.000 --> 01:01:15.000
at the end of the day, there's still blessings that you didn't necessarily deserve.

01:01:15.000 --> 01:01:16.000
That's right.

01:01:19.000 --> 01:01:26.000
You know, the Bible says that it rains on the, on the righteous and the wicked. Right?

01:01:26.000 --> 01:01:34.000
So, you know, we as human beings, we're receiving blessings from the Lord all the time, every single day.

01:01:34.000 --> 01:01:35.000
Right?

01:01:35.000 --> 01:01:45.000
And, you know, we didn't do anything to earn these blessings necessarily because according to the Bible, what we've earned is death.

01:01:45.000 --> 01:01:46.000
Right?

01:01:46.000 --> 01:01:49.000
That's what we would actually deserve is death.

01:01:49.000 --> 01:01:52.000
And so anything we get over and above that is truly a blessing.

01:01:52.000 --> 01:01:53.000
Right?

01:01:53.000 --> 01:02:01.000
And so if one person is blessed more than another person, you know, that shouldn't, that shouldn't upset us.

01:02:01.000 --> 01:02:02.000
Right?

01:02:02.000 --> 01:02:04.000
That shouldn't, we shouldn't allow that to make us mad.

01:02:04.000 --> 01:02:05.000
Right?

01:02:05.000 --> 01:02:07.000
And we shouldn't sit around and say, like, that's not fair.

01:02:07.000 --> 01:02:08.000
That's not fair.

01:02:08.000 --> 01:02:13.000
Because the thing about it is like, you know, this, this type of thing, I'm sure happens all the time.

01:02:13.000 --> 01:02:22.000
Like if, let's say, you know, there was an owner of a business, right, and he has two employees and they're both doing the exact same thing.

01:02:22.000 --> 01:02:27.000
And he's paying, you know, one person a certain wage.

01:02:27.000 --> 01:02:30.000
Let's say, you know, one person is getting, you know, $40,000 a year.

01:02:30.000 --> 01:02:35.000
But then the other employee, he just likes him and he gives him $80,000 a year.

01:02:35.000 --> 01:02:36.000
Right?

01:02:36.000 --> 01:02:41.000
Did the, did the owner of the business, did he do anything wrong?

01:02:42.000 --> 01:02:43.000
No.

01:02:43.000 --> 01:02:46.000
He just blessed in one person more than the other.

01:02:46.000 --> 01:02:47.000
Right?

01:02:47.000 --> 01:02:51.000
And so, you know, somebody might say, well, that's not fair.

01:02:51.000 --> 01:02:57.000
But, but the reality is, is that the owner can do what he wants with his money.

01:02:57.000 --> 01:02:58.000
Right?

01:02:58.000 --> 01:02:59.000
So just like this householder.

01:02:59.000 --> 01:03:09.000
You know, and so I did kind of want to mention the fact that there is, you know, there is some correlation between fairness and justice.

01:03:09.000 --> 01:03:10.000
Right?

01:03:10.000 --> 01:03:11.000
And those are going to be pretty similar things.

01:03:11.000 --> 01:03:12.000
But there is a difference.

01:03:12.000 --> 01:03:13.000
Right?

01:03:13.000 --> 01:03:22.000
And, you know, fairness, like, you know, somebody might say, well, you know, this thing that happened was unfair.

01:03:22.000 --> 01:03:25.000
But, you know, wasn't necessarily criminal though.

01:03:25.000 --> 01:03:31.000
Because when, you know, when we're, when we're thinking about something that's, you know, unfair versus unjust.

01:03:31.000 --> 01:03:32.000
Right?

01:03:32.000 --> 01:03:37.000
You know, you could have something that, you know, we would say, well, that's, that's just not fair.

01:03:37.000 --> 01:03:38.000
Right?

01:03:38.000 --> 01:03:41.000
But, you know, did criminal activity happen?

01:03:41.000 --> 01:03:53.000
Like, like in that, in that situation, you know, you know, somebody could make the argument that, hey, that's not really fair if they're doing the exact same job, but they have completely different salaries.

01:03:53.000 --> 01:03:56.000
You know, you could make the argument that that's not fair.

01:03:56.000 --> 01:03:57.000
Right.

01:03:57.000 --> 01:03:58.000
Okay.

01:03:58.000 --> 01:04:01.000
But you couldn't really make the argument that it's like criminal or something.

01:04:01.000 --> 01:04:02.000
Right.

01:04:02.000 --> 01:04:04.000
That it's unjust.

01:04:04.000 --> 01:04:05.000
Right?

01:04:05.000 --> 01:04:14.000
You know, and the Bible does talk about the fact that, hey, you know, basically, masters should pay his servants properly.

01:04:14.000 --> 01:04:15.000
He should pay them well.

01:04:15.000 --> 01:04:17.000
He shouldn't be like ripping them off or whatever.

01:04:17.000 --> 01:04:28.000
But, you know, as long as he's paying them a proper wage for whatever they're doing, you know, you can't just be like, well, you know, he should be paying everybody the same thing.

01:04:28.000 --> 01:04:37.000
Because, you know, the reality is, is that, you know, life is going to be unfair because God's, for one, I mean, God's not a communist.

01:04:37.000 --> 01:04:40.000
He's not making everything and everybody the exact same.

01:04:40.000 --> 01:04:41.000
Amen.

01:04:41.000 --> 01:04:42.000
Right.

01:04:42.000 --> 01:04:44.000
You know, we don't all look the same.

01:04:44.000 --> 01:04:46.000
We don't all sound the same.

01:04:46.000 --> 01:04:48.000
You know, we don't all have the same temperaments.

01:04:48.000 --> 01:04:49.000
We're different.

01:04:49.000 --> 01:04:50.000
Right.

01:04:50.000 --> 01:04:52.000
God made us all different.

01:04:52.000 --> 01:04:55.000
And so there's going to be different outcomes.

01:04:55.000 --> 01:04:56.000
Right.

01:04:56.000 --> 01:04:57.000
Because God.

01:04:57.000 --> 01:05:01.000
Think about like how boring would that be if we just all looked exactly the same?

01:05:01.000 --> 01:05:03.000
We all acted exactly the same.

01:05:03.000 --> 01:05:05.000
We all did the exact same thing.

01:05:05.000 --> 01:05:08.000
It's like a giant hive mind where it's all it's like the board.

01:05:08.000 --> 01:05:09.000
Right.

01:05:09.000 --> 01:05:11.000
Everyone's completely equal.

01:05:11.000 --> 01:05:14.000
Nobody's having any like out of range thoughts.

01:05:14.000 --> 01:05:17.000
You know, we're all just like robots doing the same stuff.

01:05:17.000 --> 01:05:18.000
Right.

01:05:18.000 --> 01:05:21.000
I mean, how how boring and pathetic would that be?

01:05:21.000 --> 01:05:23.000
That would be terrible.

01:05:23.000 --> 01:05:26.000
And so, you know, does anybody want to live like that?

01:05:26.000 --> 01:05:27.000
Live in a hive?

01:05:27.000 --> 01:05:31.000
Does anybody want to go join a board cube today?

01:05:31.000 --> 01:05:33.000
Resistance is futile.

01:05:33.000 --> 01:05:35.000
Nobody would want to do that.

01:05:35.000 --> 01:05:36.000
Right.

01:05:36.000 --> 01:05:40.000
You know, if you're watching Star Trek, you're like, oh, no, the euro, he got turned into a board.

01:05:40.000 --> 01:05:41.000
No.

01:05:41.000 --> 01:05:42.000
Right.

01:05:42.000 --> 01:05:46.000
Because, you know, that just that seems like horrible to us.

01:05:46.000 --> 01:05:50.000
But if you wanted everything to be fair.

01:05:50.000 --> 01:05:51.000
Right.

01:05:51.000 --> 01:05:52.000
Yeah.

01:05:52.000 --> 01:05:53.000
Yeah.

01:05:53.000 --> 01:06:02.000
Let's say that you kind of have to have like a board cube situation where nobody's getting anything that they you know nobody's getting more than anybody else.

01:06:02.000 --> 01:06:04.000
You know, nobody's getting more resources.

01:06:04.000 --> 01:06:06.000
Nobody's getting more talents.

01:06:06.000 --> 01:06:13.000
You know, and everybody is just doing you know their job you know exactly the way that the board mind wants it or whatever.

01:06:13.000 --> 01:06:18.000
That's what you'd have to have in order to make everything completely out of 100 percent fair in our minds.

01:06:18.000 --> 01:06:19.000
Right.

01:06:19.000 --> 01:06:23.060
20 and no no no no no it has to be 100% fair you know everybody's gonna work 12

01:06:23.060 --> 01:06:26.560
hours and everyone's gonna get one penny you know and and we're just we're

01:06:26.560 --> 01:06:30.240
definitely gonna make sure that all the pennies have ridges so nobody you know

01:06:30.240 --> 01:06:34.680
all the pennies are exactly equal in weight and of the same value and you know

01:06:34.680 --> 01:06:38.960
not a Jew has seen a put a breath on any of those coins so they're all equal

01:06:38.960 --> 01:06:44.600
right and so you know that's what you would have to do right but but who

01:06:44.600 --> 01:06:48.000
wants to live like that though who wants to be have everything exactly the same

01:06:48.000 --> 01:06:52.200
everyone has the exact same things you know and different societies have tried

01:06:52.200 --> 01:06:57.800
this right you know you think about the Bolshevik Revolution over in in Russia

01:06:57.800 --> 01:07:04.440
where they try to install communism create communism right and what's the

01:07:04.440 --> 01:07:09.360
whole point of communism well we're trying to make everything equal I mean

01:07:09.360 --> 01:07:16.280
who wants to go live in a commie block over in Russia today no thanks I'd rather

01:07:16.720 --> 01:07:21.560
not live I'd rather live in America where you know you have different

01:07:21.560 --> 01:07:27.120
outcomes you have unfair outcomes right where you know if you want to you know

01:07:27.120 --> 01:07:33.080
you can work really hard and you know get a you know you don't have to live in

01:07:33.080 --> 01:07:36.800
a commie block you can live in a regular house you know and you can have like a

01:07:36.800 --> 01:07:40.760
yard you know it's it's pretty nice that we don't live all just live in the

01:07:40.760 --> 01:07:45.080
commie blocks we actually have yards that we can you can that you can have

01:07:45.080 --> 01:07:48.960
your kids playing it's pretty great right and so you know but it but if we

01:07:48.960 --> 01:07:54.280
had a completely and totally and utterly fair society you know like the

01:07:54.280 --> 01:07:59.800
communists claimed to want you we'd all be living in a tiny tiny apartment but

01:07:59.800 --> 01:08:05.160
probably with very little heating you know and some commie block somewhere and

01:08:05.160 --> 01:08:10.280
the reality is of course you know in a communist society you know it's actually

01:08:10.280 --> 01:08:13.760
not fair because all the goy get the commie blocks and all the Jews they get

01:08:13.760 --> 01:08:18.200
all the money and power right it's actually even more unequal than in like

01:08:18.200 --> 01:08:23.800
a capitalist society where it's like instead of instead of the unequal a seed

01:08:23.800 --> 01:08:30.280
being there because you know some people you know choose different paths than

01:08:30.280 --> 01:08:34.760
other people so they get different outcomes it's a forced outcome you know

01:08:34.760 --> 01:08:49.800
which is far worse far far worse but you know in our world though you know

01:08:49.800 --> 01:08:52.480
there's a lot of things that we would perceive as being unfair that are really

01:08:52.480 --> 01:08:57.960
actually not unfair but but the reality is is that unfair things do happen and

01:08:57.960 --> 01:09:01.920
we should just realize that that's the world we live in the world is unfair

01:09:01.920 --> 01:09:07.280
because man is sinful because of our sin that we've screwed up and so we should

01:09:07.280 --> 01:09:13.160
just we should just realize that accept that and just do the best with the cards

01:09:13.160 --> 01:09:17.600
that were handed amen go ahead and turn to John chapter number 21 John chapter

01:09:17.600 --> 01:09:25.160
number 21 and you know there's there's lots of different examples of this type

01:09:25.160 --> 01:09:28.520
of thing happening in the Bible but this is this is a really good one I think in

01:09:28.520 --> 01:09:32.680
John chapter number 21 where you have you know two different people that are

01:09:32.680 --> 01:09:35.920
living two different lives and they have two different outcomes that's like well

01:09:35.920 --> 01:09:40.440
this one's not fair you know there this isn't fair right and here in John

01:09:40.440 --> 01:09:47.360
chapter number 21 this is basically when Jesus you know finds Peter you know

01:09:47.360 --> 01:09:51.680
fishing you know after he's supposed to be following Jesus Christ doing his will

01:09:51.680 --> 01:09:55.400
you know after he's resurrected right you know Peter decides he's gonna go

01:09:55.400 --> 01:10:00.080
fishing for some reason it's like dude Jesus rose like and then you're gonna go

01:10:00.080 --> 01:10:06.160
fishing like what dude but he goes fishing right and this is you know this

01:10:06.160 --> 01:10:10.920
is after Jesus like hey do you love me do you love me do you love me you know

01:10:10.920 --> 01:10:17.920
Peter's like you know you know you know you know and so right after that in John

01:10:17.920 --> 01:10:21.560
chapter number 21 look at verse number 18 it says very liberally I say unto

01:10:21.560 --> 01:10:26.680
thee when thou was young thou didst gird thyself and walkest whither thou

01:10:26.680 --> 01:10:31.320
wouldest but when thou shalt be old thou shalt thou shalt stretch forth thine

01:10:31.320 --> 01:10:36.600
hands and another shall gird thee and carry thee whether thou wouldest not he

01:10:36.600 --> 01:10:43.640
spake excuse me this spake he signifying by what death he should glorify God and

01:10:43.640 --> 01:10:50.200
when he had spoken this he saith unto him follow me then Peter turning about

01:10:50.240 --> 01:10:55.320
seeeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following which also leaned on his

01:10:55.320 --> 01:11:03.880
breast at supper and saith Lord which is he that bereth thee Peter seeing him

01:11:03.880 --> 01:11:10.760
saith to Jesus Lord and what shall this man do Jesus saith unto him if I will

01:11:10.760 --> 01:11:17.880
that he tarry till I come what is that to thee follow thou me and so so what's

01:11:17.920 --> 01:11:22.880
going on here is this Jesus is telling Peter basically how he's gonna die right

01:11:22.880 --> 01:11:27.040
now you know this stretching forth his hands you know a lot of people say well

01:11:27.040 --> 01:11:32.160
hey that's him stretching forth his hands on a cross and basically you know

01:11:32.160 --> 01:11:37.080
that's how people say that Peter died upside down on cross right you know

01:11:37.080 --> 01:11:41.560
maybe that happened maybe it didn't you know we don't know exactly what Jesus is

01:11:41.560 --> 01:11:44.840
referring to there but he's referring to what death he should die that should

01:11:44.840 --> 01:11:50.400
glorify God amen and so Peter's gonna die some way somehow that's gonna

01:11:50.400 --> 01:11:56.960
glorify God and then you know Peter he you know he's turning about he's like

01:11:56.960 --> 01:12:06.400
well what about him what about that guy it's like Jesus he's like well if he if

01:12:06.400 --> 01:12:12.680
he literally never dies if he's just alive until I come back what does that

01:12:12.680 --> 01:12:16.480
have to do with you what is that to be right why what how's that gonna affect

01:12:16.480 --> 01:12:24.880
you Peter yeah like is this isn't fair though what about him he you know I mean

01:12:24.880 --> 01:12:28.040
Peter you know I guess he you know if he probably is asking that because he

01:12:28.040 --> 01:12:33.640
realizes like oh man I'm gonna die in some horrible way you know and he's like

01:12:33.640 --> 01:12:39.800
well what about him you know is he gonna die if I'm gonna die in some horrible

01:12:39.800 --> 01:12:43.920
way I want him to die in some horrible way you know what kind of a mentality is

01:12:43.920 --> 01:12:47.960
that like I don't know you know so you Peter he's a great character in the

01:12:47.960 --> 01:12:53.000
Bible but he has a lot of moments where it's like dude like what are you doing

01:12:53.000 --> 01:12:58.080
you know Jesus he's like hey guess what I'm gonna die and then I'm gonna be

01:12:58.080 --> 01:13:03.000
resurrected and then Peter's just like that's not so that's not gonna happen be

01:13:03.000 --> 01:13:08.360
it far from thee and then Jesus like hey get behind me Satan you know I mean

01:13:08.400 --> 01:13:10.840
Peter has all kinds of these little moments where he's just saying something

01:13:10.840 --> 01:13:14.960
dumb right and you know we've all probably been like Peter where we're

01:13:14.960 --> 01:13:20.640
saying dumb stuff you know it happens right we get that foot and mouth disease

01:13:20.640 --> 01:13:26.600
you know it's something I suffer from greatly and so you know but he's like

01:13:26.600 --> 01:13:31.440
you know what what about him you know I want him to suffer too I wanted him to

01:13:31.440 --> 01:13:37.720
be at the cross next to me now like this is not a good attitude though like if

01:13:37.760 --> 01:13:42.040
just because you're suffering that doesn't mean that other people have to

01:13:42.040 --> 01:13:46.000
suffer with you you know there's that saying that what this says like a

01:13:46.000 --> 01:13:50.240
suffering loves company right and you know a lot this is something that

01:13:50.240 --> 01:13:53.640
people do a lot of times you know if they're having a bad day you know they

01:13:53.640 --> 01:13:57.520
want to bring everyone else down to their level but the but the thing about

01:13:57.520 --> 01:14:04.560
it is is that somebody else's joy is not hurting you right like if somebody else

01:14:04.600 --> 01:14:08.920
is happy and they're excelling in life and life is just going great for them

01:14:08.920 --> 01:14:16.320
everything is going well for them does that actually hurt you is that harming

01:14:16.320 --> 01:14:21.880
you in any way you know and it's like you know yeah but how come I can't have

01:14:21.880 --> 01:14:25.400
all the blessings that they have you know if you spend too much time on

01:14:25.400 --> 01:14:30.640
social media or whatever you know you'll you'll see all the all the great things

01:14:30.640 --> 01:14:34.960
that are happening in other people's lives or whatever and it's like you know

01:14:34.960 --> 01:14:38.760
you could get a sour aptitude because it's like well how come they not

01:14:38.760 --> 01:14:44.120
miserable like me you know but the reality is is that if they were

01:14:44.120 --> 01:14:48.000
miserable like you would you be happier

01:14:50.000 --> 01:14:57.080
I mean you shouldn't it shouldn't make you happy happier maybe for somebody

01:14:57.080 --> 01:15:00.560
maybe it does I don't know like they're just happier the more miserable

01:15:00.560 --> 01:15:04.280
everybody else is like I don't know but that but that's a wicked attitude though

01:15:04.280 --> 01:15:08.880
right that's not an attitude that we should have so if somebody else is being

01:15:08.880 --> 01:15:13.360
blessed right if somebody else if their life's going perfect if it's just going

01:15:13.360 --> 01:15:19.520
great like nothing ever goes wrong then just be happy for them just be glad for

01:15:19.520 --> 01:15:24.360
them or just don't think about them you know you know if somebody else's

01:15:24.360 --> 01:15:28.960
happiness is just bothers you I don't know what to do for you other than to

01:15:28.960 --> 01:15:32.000
say maybe I don't know maybe you could just pretend they're miserable I don't

01:15:32.000 --> 01:15:38.760
know but the reality is is that you know that's not an attitude that we should

01:15:38.760 --> 01:15:43.320
have if somebody else is being blessed just be happy for them because the

01:15:43.320 --> 01:15:49.080
reality is that their blessing this is not like a zero-sum game right what

01:15:49.080 --> 01:15:53.240
what's a what's a zero-sum game well that's basically like if you have that

01:15:53.240 --> 01:15:59.120
you know that there's one pie right and they're just the pie is only so big and

01:15:59.120 --> 01:16:05.560
there's so many people that can have part of the pie so whatever pie I take

01:16:05.560 --> 01:16:10.040
I'm basically making so that other people can't have that right

01:16:10.040 --> 01:16:14.680
that's a zero-sum game right so if I take half the pie that means that

01:16:14.680 --> 01:16:19.880
there's half the pie that everybody else can't have right and so if I take the

01:16:19.880 --> 01:16:25.160
whole pie that means nobody else got any pie right that's that's what it that's

01:16:25.160 --> 01:16:31.480
what a zero-sum game is is that I win at the expense of others right I receive

01:16:31.480 --> 01:16:41.120
pie at others lack of pie right and if I don't get pie it's it's gonna be to

01:16:41.120 --> 01:16:44.720
others game right other people are gonna get more pie because I got less pie does

01:16:44.720 --> 01:16:49.320
that make sense so but here's the thing about it life is not a zero-sum game

01:16:49.320 --> 01:16:56.400
and joy is not a zero-sum game you see I don't if I the more joyful I am I don't

01:16:56.400 --> 01:17:02.120
have to like suck joy out of other people to get that right right and so you

01:17:02.120 --> 01:17:06.600
know if somebody else is happy it's not like they've robbed your happiness

01:17:06.600 --> 01:17:12.480
right they haven't taken anything from you and so you know if somebody else is

01:17:12.480 --> 01:17:17.640
joyful and somebody else is happy you know don't let it you know don't let

01:17:17.640 --> 01:17:23.800
their joy suck your joy away right or or make your misery worse right because

01:17:23.800 --> 01:17:28.240
that's that's that's if if some if people are thinking that way it's just

01:17:28.240 --> 01:17:38.640
in their mind it's not reality so never let somebody else's happiness cause you

01:17:38.640 --> 01:17:45.160
to be you know an Eeyore right we don't we you know we don't need the Eeyore

01:17:45.160 --> 01:17:50.480
Baptist Church we need what's the piglet we need like piglet or we need

01:17:50.480 --> 01:17:55.000
poo Baptist Church we need the poo he's he's happy right I don't know that's I'm

01:17:55.000 --> 01:18:00.880
making references I probably shouldn't I don't know you know we need the poo you

01:18:00.880 --> 01:18:04.360
know he did he missed piglet a lot but that was a really good bacon sandwich

01:18:04.360 --> 01:18:10.120
something I don't know all right that would be a zero-sum game right you know

01:18:10.120 --> 01:18:15.680
whose happiness came with the expensive piglet okay all right you know what we're

01:18:15.680 --> 01:18:18.760
moving on from this point all right let's we're moving on all right go ahead

01:18:18.760 --> 01:18:24.560
and turn to Proverbs chapter number Proverbs chapter number 14 Proverbs

01:18:24.560 --> 01:18:28.920
chapter before I haven't you know I had I had a bunch of little poo bear Winnie

01:18:28.920 --> 01:18:32.920
the Pooh books when I was a kid but I don't remember enough about them to make

01:18:32.920 --> 01:18:36.840
those references you know I just remember the Eeyore is always grumpy you

01:18:36.840 --> 01:18:40.920
know and he needs to cheer up and be happy all right so here Proverbs chapter

01:18:40.920 --> 01:18:48.520
number 14 look at verse verse number 30 says a sound heart is the life of the

01:18:48.520 --> 01:18:54.680
flesh but envy the rottenness of the bones and a lot of where this this

01:18:54.680 --> 01:19:00.720
fairness problem comes from is when people are envying other people right so

01:19:00.720 --> 01:19:06.440
if somebody else if their life if their joy or whatever is making you

01:19:06.520 --> 01:19:12.920
unhappy what would we call that is envy right and so you know we're envying

01:19:12.920 --> 01:19:17.960
somebody else's either possessions or the life they have or how things are

01:19:17.960 --> 01:19:23.320
going for them or whatever it is you know if this is making you unhappy we

01:19:23.320 --> 01:19:27.320
would call this envy right and what does the Bible says it says envy is the

01:19:27.320 --> 01:19:32.920
rottenness of the bones now if you think about it you know your bones are a pretty

01:19:32.920 --> 01:19:36.920
important part of your body right if you don't have strong bones you're gonna

01:19:36.920 --> 01:19:43.200
have you're gonna have issues and you know there's a there's a this youtuber

01:19:43.200 --> 01:19:47.600
that I used to watch every once in a while what's his name he was a gun

01:19:47.600 --> 01:19:53.560
tuber and he was from the great state of Oregon right so so shoot why can't I

01:19:53.560 --> 01:19:56.480
remember his name well anyway so this guy he got I think you got like

01:19:56.480 --> 01:20:05.720
pancreatic cancer and he apparently at one point his hips broke and then he

01:20:05.720 --> 01:20:10.360
fell down why well because his bones were all messed up right and he you know

01:20:10.360 --> 01:20:15.000
eventually he he died from pancreatic cancer and you know it's a you know a

01:20:15.000 --> 01:20:21.760
sad situation right but you know his his bones basically were were suffering

01:20:21.760 --> 01:20:26.200
from this pancreatic cancer they became super weak to where his hips literally

01:20:26.200 --> 01:20:31.680
just broke while he's standing there right and you know so that's kind of the

01:20:31.680 --> 01:20:37.000
picture that the Bible is painting here where if you're just letting envy rule

01:20:37.000 --> 01:20:44.000
your life like it's like you it's like having patriot a pancreatic cancer and

01:20:44.000 --> 01:20:49.720
having your bones break it's like the rottenness of the bones right and the

01:20:49.720 --> 01:20:53.960
thing about it is is that you know like I was saying earlier having this envy

01:20:53.960 --> 01:21:00.680
will not help you it's not going to help you in any way because you know

01:21:00.680 --> 01:21:05.360
whatever it is that you're envious of you can't have it you know you can

01:21:05.360 --> 01:21:09.600
there's other things you can have again this is not like a zero-sum game where

01:21:09.600 --> 01:21:13.480
if you you know you have to take it from them in order for you to have it that's

01:21:13.480 --> 01:21:19.400
you know that's not the case that's not true it's not a zero-sum game and so

01:21:19.400 --> 01:21:27.040
being envious of other people will not help you 2nd Corinthians chapter number

01:21:27.040 --> 01:21:31.360
10 verse number 12 it says where we dare not make ourselves of the number or

01:21:31.360 --> 01:21:35.400
compare ourselves with some that commend themselves but they measuring

01:21:35.400 --> 01:21:41.080
themselves by themselves and comparing themselves among themselves are not wise

01:21:41.080 --> 01:21:48.000
and so you know you shouldn't be sitting around just comparing yourself to other

01:21:48.360 --> 01:21:52.960
people necessarily okay you know if it like you know there's a there's multiple

01:21:52.960 --> 01:21:56.760
ways you could do this that are that are negative I would say if you're just like

01:21:56.760 --> 01:22:02.400
sitting around but hey I'm just so much better than so and so yeah or you know

01:22:02.400 --> 01:22:06.160
if you're like oh you know they just have it so easy you know like how come

01:22:06.160 --> 01:22:09.880
how come I can't have how come I can't have their life it's just so easy

01:22:09.880 --> 01:22:13.600
nothing ever goes wrong for them and they you know you know whatever it is

01:22:14.560 --> 01:22:19.000
you know these are these are evil ways to compare yourself yeah right and you

01:22:19.000 --> 01:22:24.880
know especially if you're comparing yourself to like people that are you

01:22:24.880 --> 01:22:28.800
know in your life right you don't want to be doing that because you could be

01:22:28.800 --> 01:22:33.400
causing strife and issues between people that you're that you're living with

01:22:33.400 --> 01:22:36.000
right people that you're going to church with or people that you're interacting

01:22:36.000 --> 01:22:39.840
with at the job site or whatever right if you if you want to compare yourself

01:22:39.840 --> 01:22:43.760
you know if you want to make yourself feel good why don't you compare yourself

01:22:43.760 --> 01:22:47.800
to people in like third world countries or whatever compare yourself to them and

01:22:47.800 --> 01:22:51.400
then just be like wow I'm just so blessed right why don't you do that right

01:22:51.400 --> 01:22:58.160
you know if here's a tip right if you if you're if you're taking your wife out

01:22:58.160 --> 01:23:02.880
and your family out on just like a cruise on a drive right don't drive

01:23:02.880 --> 01:23:08.160
through like the rich neighborhood because then it's like well how can we

01:23:08.160 --> 01:23:14.360
get out like that yeah drive through like the most ghetto part of the

01:23:14.360 --> 01:23:19.280
neighborhood you can find like wow honey I'm so glad you're such a great provider

01:23:19.280 --> 01:23:31.600
right or you could just stay home and save the gas money right wait till

01:23:31.600 --> 01:23:36.240
operation Epstein fury to end you know maybe the gas prices are gonna go down

01:23:36.240 --> 01:23:40.840
and then then you can you know maybe think about having a having a having a

01:23:40.840 --> 01:23:45.760
drive with your family but other than that you know you got a you got to save

01:23:45.760 --> 01:23:51.800
the tank all right tell your wife hey we can't go on a drive because but well for

01:23:51.800 --> 01:23:54.120
a couple reasons we're gonna be comparing ourselves among ourselves

01:23:54.120 --> 01:23:59.600
which is not wise and Epstein fury is still happening so you know gas prices

01:23:59.600 --> 01:24:05.640
are still up so yeah so what was I saying with that I have no idea but

01:24:05.680 --> 01:24:13.280
you know you want to avoid making these bad comparisons with people right and

01:24:13.280 --> 01:24:19.760
you know because the thing about it is that you are living a very specific life

01:24:19.760 --> 01:24:26.920
right you are living your life you know I'm living my life right my life is not

01:24:26.920 --> 01:24:30.840
the same as brother Paul's it's not the same as brother Ryan's right it's not

01:24:30.840 --> 01:24:34.080
the same as anybody else in this room or anybody else on planet Earth we all have

01:24:34.120 --> 01:24:38.080
we have different difficulties and issues that we that we have to deal with

01:24:38.080 --> 01:24:46.400
right you know so we so comparing ourselves among ourselves is a really

01:24:46.400 --> 01:24:50.480
productive thing to do it's not a it's not a good thing to do right now you

01:24:50.480 --> 01:24:53.880
know I'm sure that there are certain situations where you could you know make

01:24:53.880 --> 01:24:57.000
certain comparisons right I'm not I'm not gonna condemn every single

01:24:57.000 --> 01:25:01.880
comparison ever right but there's a lot of situations where you just shouldn't

01:25:01.880 --> 01:25:06.680
be comparing yourself right like if you know if maybe if you're doing like a lot

01:25:06.680 --> 01:25:11.520
of Bible reading you know you probably shouldn't be just comparing yourself

01:25:11.520 --> 01:25:17.120
there but as hey hey brother how much Bible did you read this week ten

01:25:17.120 --> 01:25:26.440
chapters I had a 65 you know that's not a good comparison is it right or or maybe

01:25:26.440 --> 01:25:29.880
like if you if you're struggling if you were struggling to read the Bible last

01:25:29.880 --> 01:25:36.920
week you know maybe if somebody is like if somebody's like hey I did 65 chapters

01:25:36.920 --> 01:25:40.320
you know announcing it you know it's probably not a good thing for them to

01:25:40.320 --> 01:25:44.560
be doing if they're just announcing that for in 65 chapters Bible yeah you know

01:25:44.560 --> 01:25:48.600
don't worry about that right don't compare yourself to them don't let them

01:25:48.600 --> 01:25:52.040
get you down because here's the thing like just the fact that they're

01:25:52.040 --> 01:25:56.360
announcing to the whole world how much Bible they've read like only ten chapters

01:25:56.360 --> 01:26:02.480
65 you know that's not a spiritual thing for them to be doing and they

01:26:02.480 --> 01:26:07.040
should be very embarrassed about that so you know if you if you see you know if

01:26:07.040 --> 01:26:12.320
you're comparing yourself like oh man I'm not doing well spiritually because of

01:26:12.320 --> 01:26:15.920
a comparison with other people you shouldn't be doing that don't worry

01:26:15.920 --> 01:26:19.600
about those other people why well because for one they're on a different

01:26:19.600 --> 01:26:24.000
life track than you are okay you know you should be comparing yourself to

01:26:24.000 --> 01:26:29.320
yourself right or you can compare yourself to Jesus right and you know

01:26:29.320 --> 01:26:32.680
here's the thing when you compare yourself to Jesus you know we're never

01:26:32.680 --> 01:26:38.440
gonna measure up right but however that is still the goal amen and so but you

01:26:38.440 --> 01:26:45.120
should be comparing yourself to yourself right like hey within yourself you know

01:26:45.120 --> 01:26:50.760
can you read more Bible can you memorize more verses can you and the answer to

01:26:50.760 --> 01:26:55.680
all those questions is yes right amen but you know have you spent enough time

01:26:55.680 --> 01:27:00.560
in prayer have you spent enough time doing XYZ right and so you know you

01:27:00.560 --> 01:27:04.960
should you shouldn't be worrying about other people's races right because God

01:27:04.960 --> 01:27:12.200
has set a race before you and it's your job to run your race you know it's not

01:27:12.200 --> 01:27:17.080
your job to run everybody else's race right and so you know maybe somebody

01:27:17.080 --> 01:27:22.760
else's race is way easier you know you know in track and field you know they

01:27:22.760 --> 01:27:26.520
have those races where they have to jump over the hurdles and you know maybe

01:27:26.520 --> 01:27:31.960
somebody else maybe they only got one hurdle right but you got like I got like

01:27:31.960 --> 01:27:37.280
ten hurdles well you know jump your hurdles do it with all the gusto and all

01:27:37.280 --> 01:27:41.400
the correct form you know get your toe up and you know at the right speed or

01:27:41.400 --> 01:27:45.720
whatever jump those hurdles you know and if you crash and burn on hurdles or

01:27:45.720 --> 01:27:50.200
whatever just you know get back up and and do it again you know and you know

01:27:50.200 --> 01:27:55.600
because hey you know maybe God put those hurdles in there for a reason or maybe

01:27:55.600 --> 01:27:58.920
there's no reason that there's hurdles there but you just got our jump over

01:27:58.920 --> 01:28:03.760
him anyway right and God's gonna bless you when you jump those hurdles without

01:28:03.760 --> 01:28:10.200
complaint right let's see here where was I Philippians go ahead and turn to

01:28:10.200 --> 01:28:13.520
Philippians chapter number two verse number 14 we're we're gonna be wrapping

01:28:13.520 --> 01:28:16.080
up here pretty soon

01:28:21.400 --> 01:28:25.120
Philippians chapter number two look at verse number 14 it says do all things

01:28:25.120 --> 01:28:30.840
without murmuring and disputing that ye may be blameless and harmless the sons

01:28:30.840 --> 01:28:35.320
of God without rebuke in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation among whom

01:28:35.320 --> 01:28:42.760
ye shine as lights in the world and so you know even even if you have more

01:28:42.760 --> 01:28:47.560
hurdles than somebody else you know again jump over those things without

01:28:47.560 --> 01:28:51.560
complaining without without disputing be like hey you know say somebody get these

01:28:51.560 --> 01:28:56.040
extra hurdles get these hurdles off of my lane and put them in his lane he needs

01:28:56.040 --> 01:29:00.840
more hurdles you know put more hurdles in his lane no he doesn't it doesn't need

01:29:00.840 --> 01:29:05.360
any more hurdles you know maybe you can't see all the hurdles that that guy has to

01:29:05.360 --> 01:29:12.480
jump you know again you know when you're going back to that comparison verse

01:29:12.520 --> 01:29:16.600
if you're comparing your life to other people's lives do you have all the data

01:29:16.600 --> 01:29:21.840
to compare proper to make a good comparison with no you don't have all

01:29:21.840 --> 01:29:25.360
the data you don't know what their life is truly like you don't know all the

01:29:25.360 --> 01:29:28.840
things that go on you don't know all the different struggles that they had to go

01:29:28.840 --> 01:29:34.440
through during the day or whatever and so you know just do your job without

01:29:34.440 --> 01:29:40.200
murmuring and disputing you know and you know be blameless in the sight of God and

01:29:40.440 --> 01:29:46.320
God is gonna be happy with that and you know when you go through difficulties

01:29:46.320 --> 01:29:51.760
and you know you just suffer through unfair situations in life and you don't

01:29:51.760 --> 01:29:56.320
want to complain about it that is great testimony before the world right that's

01:29:56.320 --> 01:30:00.680
it that's you know it's gonna make you a shining light before the world like

01:30:00.680 --> 01:30:05.920
especially you know if you suffer through something at work like where you

01:30:05.960 --> 01:30:10.640
know you just get blatantly you know defrauded or something you know

01:30:10.640 --> 01:30:14.280
something unfair happens amen and you know everyone sees that and you don't

01:30:14.280 --> 01:30:20.120
let it bother you then that's a great testimony right people like wow you know

01:30:20.120 --> 01:30:25.160
that guy you know he obviously should have got the promotion but somebody else

01:30:25.160 --> 01:30:32.600
did and that was totally unfair but he's not bothered by it you know you know

01:30:32.600 --> 01:30:36.920
that's kind of like the lifestyle evangelism right you know I believe

01:30:36.920 --> 01:30:41.720
lifestyle evangelism so long as it's not a replacement for soul winning. There's

01:30:41.720 --> 01:30:45.320
nothing wrong with lifestyle evangelism unless it's replacing soul winning right

01:30:45.320 --> 01:30:50.120
and so you know it's a it's a good testimony so that when you do have the

01:30:50.120 --> 01:30:54.720
opportunity to present the gospel to somebody they're not like well you know

01:30:54.720 --> 01:30:58.520
he just freaked out and had a major hissy fit when he didn't get the

01:30:58.520 --> 01:31:02.000
promotion so why would I listen to him right that's that means you're not a

01:31:02.040 --> 01:31:06.880
very good light but if you take those things patiently then you can be a good

01:31:06.880 --> 01:31:12.040
light to those that are that are around you and you know the the more you know

01:31:12.040 --> 01:31:17.240
people around you are freaking out about these different things and the the the

01:31:17.240 --> 01:31:21.680
less you are the more of a light that you're gonna be right the the darker the

01:31:21.680 --> 01:31:27.440
world gets around us the easier it is to shine and just be a good example right

01:31:27.920 --> 01:31:35.240
and so you know again title the sermon is life just isn't fair and you know we

01:31:35.240 --> 01:31:39.920
should be okay with that we shouldn't let it bother us and you know when when

01:31:39.920 --> 01:31:45.080
other people are blessed and we're not we should be okay with that you know if I

01:31:45.080 --> 01:31:48.800
if I were to give a thousand dollars to everybody except for Paul you know Paul

01:31:48.800 --> 01:31:53.200
just needs to be okay with that by the way I'm not giving anybody a thousand

01:31:53.200 --> 01:32:04.200
dollars you know I was thinking about getting like a bunch of pennies and just

01:32:04.200 --> 01:32:07.920
like handing out pennies everybody except for Paul but you know I don't know

01:32:07.920 --> 01:32:12.240
I didn't have enough I had some pennies yeah it's too cheap right I had some

01:32:12.240 --> 01:32:15.760
pennies but they were like covered in like sticky stuff and it's like yeah you

01:32:15.760 --> 01:32:21.280
know I heard people are gonna want the penny I'm gonna like pick up my notes

01:32:21.280 --> 01:32:26.800
and it's gonna stick to my hands and it's like oh yeah not good then you know

01:32:26.800 --> 01:32:30.280
they'll be like hey you gave me this penny this wasn't fair it's stuck to my

01:32:30.280 --> 01:32:35.680
hand I can't get rid of it you know like it's yours forever all right well

01:32:35.680 --> 01:32:42.480
anyways you know what again life isn't fair you know we should be okay with

01:32:42.480 --> 01:32:48.880
this you know don't let it upset you it is what it is right and and guess what

01:32:48.880 --> 01:32:53.080
we're the recipients of unfairness and we should be very happy about that

01:32:53.080 --> 01:32:57.960
because it wasn't fair for Jesus to pay for our sins for us and you know what

01:32:57.960 --> 01:33:03.120
I'm really happy that life isn't fair because I get salvation for free right

01:33:03.120 --> 01:33:06.200
and so let's go ahead and bow our heads and have a word of prayer dear heavenly father I

01:33:06.200 --> 01:33:08.400
thank you for this day Lord I thank you for everything you've done for us Lord

01:33:08.400 --> 01:33:12.120
we hit pray that you please help us to get through life even though it is it is

01:33:12.120 --> 01:33:18.240
not fair and help us to rejoice in the blessings we receive and not lament the

01:33:18.240 --> 01:33:22.020
fact that others may be blessed more in our lives or that we think that they're

01:33:22.020 --> 01:33:27.720
blessed more help us Lord to rejoice in the blessings that we receive and help

01:33:27.720 --> 01:33:33.320
us to only look at others lives so that we can look to bless them Lord and look

01:33:33.320 --> 01:33:36.120
to the things of others and not to things of our own and dear Jesus name

01:33:36.120 --> 01:33:38.560
amen

01:33:38.560 --> 01:33:58.240
all right if you want to take your him knows turn to page number 16 page number

01:33:58.240 --> 01:34:14.320

01:35:38.360 --> 01:35:42.800
this message to remind ourselves Lord do not get stuck in the question

01:35:42.800 --> 01:35:48.000
concern who gets what and if I did or they didn't I Lord let us just always

01:35:48.000 --> 01:35:52.560
know Lord in the end this life isn't fair but thank goodness we were saved

01:35:52.560 --> 01:35:56.640
because of your grace because we didn't deserve the great gift that we was

01:35:56.640 --> 01:36:01.000
