WEBVTT

00:02.700 --> 00:03.600
all we know

00:06.300 --> 00:07.500
What the Lord!

00:10.200 --> 00:15.000
With the blessings of which we have prayed

01:02.000 --> 01:03.400
You can tell.

01:06.000 --> 01:10.700
will send from above and how have

01:20.400 --> 01:21.400
Worship

02:01.200 --> 02:05.360
and singing everybody. And actually we did not sing this this morning, I thought we did.

02:07.360 --> 02:09.360
Brother Ryan, would you please open us up in a word of prayer?

02:13.200 --> 02:13.900
us and we're here to help you.

02:16.200 --> 02:23.200
Thank you for helping us reach our goal. I pray God that we can go way beyond that.

02:23.200 --> 02:26.200
Please bless the rest of the service in Jesus' name, Amen.

02:26.200 --> 02:27.200
Amen.

02:27.200 --> 02:32.200
Alright, if you want to take your hymnals to page number 50.

02:32.200 --> 02:34.200
Page number 50.

02:36.900 --> 02:40.100
We also did not sing this one this morning, I believe.

02:44.300 --> 02:47.300
Page number 50.

02:47.300 --> 02:56.100
Peace, perfect peace, in this dark world of sin.

02:56.100 --> 02:50.520
The blood of the

03:07.400 --> 03:13.080
Perfect peace with sorrow surging round

03:19.900 --> 03:22.940
home is found.

03:28.500 --> 03:30.680
our future all

03:47.700 --> 03:50.980
have shadowing us and all.

04:06.500 --> 04:12.000
The struggle soon shall cease, and Jesus will come again.

04:15.400 --> 04:18.440
Heaven's perfect peace

04:21.400 --> 04:22.400
That's it, everybody.

04:22.400 --> 04:24.400
At this time, we will have our announcements.

04:32.000 --> 04:39.000
Welcome back everyone. Verse of the week is Romans 8 verse 18. Romans 8 verse 18.

04:39.000 --> 04:47.000
For I reckon that the suffering of the present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

04:47.000 --> 04:50.700
Roman 8 verse 18

04:50.800 --> 04:55.800
Alright service times are 10 30 this morning 3 30 this afternoon 6 30 on Wednesday for the Bible study

04:56.040 --> 05:01.040
So many times are 12 30 on Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m

05:01.580 --> 05:03.780
so today we had four

05:04.560 --> 05:06.560
salvations for a total of

05:06.680 --> 05:10.020
15 for June and 15 for May for a total of

05:10.720 --> 05:12.400
101

05:12.400 --> 05:14.160
salvations in

05:14.160 --> 05:15.840
Jim by Jim

05:15.840 --> 05:18.780
So amen so we met our goal

05:18.800 --> 05:20.440
Well, guess we're taking a break, right?

05:20.440 --> 05:21.740
No.

05:21.740 --> 05:22.780
No, amen.

05:22.780 --> 05:25.000
I mean, frankly, we were on course for,

05:25.000 --> 05:27.080
I believe, the best year.

05:27.080 --> 05:28.520
And I could be way off by this,

05:28.520 --> 05:31.700
but I think it was close to 100 and...

05:32.400 --> 05:36.800
58 or 160 I think many years ago we hit.

05:36.800 --> 05:40.020
So I think we have a chance to beat our top one.

05:40.020 --> 05:42.720
And if someone has a better recollection of that,

05:42.720 --> 05:45.920
we are definitely on our way for, I mean, on par,

05:45.920 --> 05:48.880
if not succeeding the best year we've ever had.

05:48.880 --> 05:50.920
So, and this is a great turnaround

05:50.920 --> 05:54.980
because I believe we made it to 98 last year.

05:55.880 --> 05:58.080
I think we just made it right below.

05:58.080 --> 06:00.300
So it is great to come from.

06:00.600 --> 06:02.280
I mean, we're just doing really well this year.

06:02.280 --> 06:04.040
So that's a great accomplishment.

06:04.040 --> 06:06.720
So that's down there.

06:06.720 --> 06:08.680
Attendance down below.

06:08.680 --> 06:11.720
Upcoming events, remember Yakima.

06:11.720 --> 06:13.400
Next week is their anniversary.

06:13.400 --> 06:15.280
If you'd like to attend, they're having a.

06:16.100 --> 06:21.100
their normal thing, you know, kind of a week of a soul wedding marathon. Pastor

06:21.100 --> 06:24.920
Thompson will be there. So if you'd like to visit and that is the closest of our

06:24.920 --> 06:31.620
official sister churches or I mean Church Plant, Sure Foundation Baptist

06:31.620 --> 06:37.660
Church, Church is near us. So if you'd like to visit it is still the closest. So

06:37.660 --> 06:42.200
that's there if you want to go. Also coming up

06:42.400 --> 06:47.820
July 28th will be the homeschool church day. That'll be here at 11 a.m.

06:48.700 --> 06:54.820
And please remember starting Wednesday will be a soul-winning awareness challenge.

06:54.820 --> 06:59.140
Just invite 25 people to church and hopefully we preach the gospel.

06:59.140 --> 07:04.260
But if you just invite 25 people outside of soul-winning times, that's the challenge.

07:04.260 --> 07:05.260
You've got two months.

07:05.260 --> 07:07.780
So it's just good to focus on.

07:07.780 --> 07:11.940
Remember, there are soul-winning times where we purely focus on that, but it's also just

07:11.940 --> 07:14.820
be aware when we have the opportunities throughout our day.

07:15.600 --> 07:23.160
And if you haven't known, the Father's Day gifts are on the front table, so all fathers,

07:23.160 --> 07:27.080
please get the little pocket knives that are available for you.

07:27.080 --> 07:28.080
That's out there.

07:28.080 --> 07:32.200
They came after Father's Day, but they are out there available if any fathers have not

07:32.200 --> 07:33.880
yet gotten their gift from the church.

07:33.880 --> 07:35.660
So it's on the front table.

07:35.660 --> 07:37.680
Please grab that on your way out.

07:38.100 --> 07:43.700
Kids, your memory verse is Matthew 19 verse 14, Matthew 19 verse 14.

07:43.700 --> 07:50.280
But Jesus said, suffer little children and forbid them not to come unto me, for of such

07:50.280 --> 07:52.600
is the kingdom of heaven.

07:53.100 --> 07:59.020
good verse to have memorized and remember that you know it's one of the key verses of why

07:59.580 --> 08:04.540
we're an integrated church you know why we don't want to separate uh children from the church so

08:04.540 --> 08:14.460
from the youth they can hear good doctrine so with that um we've uh some birthdays um only

08:14.460 --> 08:18.860
one here is Karina we'll have to wait until they come back hopefully on Wednesday but um

08:20.200 --> 08:21.800
keep them in prayer as they're traveling.

08:21.800 --> 08:23.440
But if you have any other prayer requests,

08:23.440 --> 08:26.000
please let the Thompson snow or myself know

08:26.000 --> 08:27.800
and we'll get it into the bulletin.

08:27.800 --> 08:30.540
But with that, let's turn to the Lord in prayer.

08:30.540 --> 08:32.000
Heavenly Father, thank you so much for this.

09:32.600 --> 09:36.720
If you want to take your Psalm books, we're going to turn to Psalm number 24

09:44.600 --> 09:47.080
Psalm number twenty-four.

09:56.500 --> 10:05.780
is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, the world and they that dwell thereof.

10:08.800 --> 10:12.680
For he hath founded it upon the

10:15.700 --> 10:20.700
established it upon the flood?

10:20.700 --> 10:26.700
Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord?

10:26.700 --> 10:28.700
Or who shall stand?

10:33.100 --> 10:37.340
that hath gleaned, hands and up your heart,

10:37.340 --> 10:42.900
who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity,

10:42.900 --> 10:50.260
nor sworn deceitfully, he shall receive the blessings

10:50.260 --> 10:51.900
of the Lord.

10:52.200 --> 10:58.200
and righteousness from the God of His salvation.

10:58.200 --> 11:04.200
This is the generation of them that seek Him,

11:04.200 --> 11:10.200
that seek Thy face, O Jacob, see ye love.

11:10.200 --> 11:14.200
Lift up your heads, O ye who are in the midst of sin.

11:16.500 --> 11:21.900
Be ye lifted up ye everlasting doors,

11:21.900 --> 11:26.500
And the King of Glory shall reign.

11:50.600 --> 11:51.500
Oh

11:55.100 --> 12:05.780
them up ye everlasting doors, and the King of Glory shall come in.

12:05.780 --> 12:08.500
Who is this King of Glory?

12:27.700 --> 12:29.700
Let's listen to everybody.

12:29.700 --> 12:31.700
Would the Paul, would you please pray for the offering?

12:31.700 --> 12:33.700
Father, thank you so much for this day.

12:33.700 --> 12:35.700
Thank you so much for what we have.

12:35.700 --> 12:38.700
But Lord, this remember to be truthful in all that you have given us.

12:38.700 --> 12:42.700
And Lord, luckily in the world they had the tithes, they had peace offerings,

12:42.700 --> 12:46.700
they had swimming rooms, they had sway offerings, they had burnt offerings.

12:46.700 --> 12:49.700
Lord, you really simplified it just to ask for a tithe.

12:49.700 --> 12:52.700
So, we'll just be thankful in the time that we are, that we're a good testament.

12:52.700 --> 12:53.700
Thank you.

13:36.200 --> 13:38.240
Welcome back everybody.

13:38.240 --> 13:41.240
If you could take your Bibles and turn to

13:41.240 --> 13:45.800
First Kings chapter 21, that'll be our text this evening.

13:46.800 --> 13:50.760
First Kings 21, and as always here at our church,

13:50.760 --> 13:53.980
we read the entire chapter before the preaching.

13:55.760 --> 13:59.900
First Kings chapter 21, the Bible reads.

14:00.000 --> 14:05.920
And it came to pass after these things that Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard, which

14:05.920 --> 14:10.080
was in Jezreel, hard by the palace of Ahab, king of Samaria.

14:10.400 --> 14:16.700
And Ahab spake unto Naboth, saying, Give me thy vineyard, that I may have it for a garden

14:16.700 --> 14:23.020
of herbs, because it is near unto my house, and I will give thee for it a better vineyard

14:23.020 --> 14:24.020
than it.

14:24.020 --> 14:29.460
Or, if it seem good to thee, I will give thee the worth of it in money.

14:29.460 --> 14:34.900
And Naboth said to Ahab, The Lord forbid it me that I should give the inheritance of my

14:34.900 --> 14:36.500
fathers unto thee.

14:36.600 --> 14:43.320
And Ahab came into his house heavy and displeased because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite

14:43.320 --> 14:49.000
had spoken to him. For he had said, I will not give thee the inheritance of my fathers.

14:49.960 --> 14:55.600
And he laid him down upon his bed and turned away his face and would eat no bread.

14:55.700 --> 15:03.620
But Jezebel his wife came to him and said unto him, Why is thy spirit so sad, that thou eatest no bread?

15:03.620 --> 15:12.100
And he said unto her, Because I spake unto Naboth the Jezreelite. And he said unto him, Give me thy

15:12.100 --> 15:18.340
vineyard for money, or else, if it please thee, I will give thee another vineyard for it. And he

15:18.340 --> 15:20.820
answered, I will not give thee my vineyard.

15:21.200 --> 15:23.640
And Jezebel his wife said unto him,

15:23.640 --> 15:26.860
Thus thou now govern the kingdom of Israel?

15:26.860 --> 15:30.820
Arise and eat bread, and let thine heart be merry.

15:30.820 --> 15:34.820
I will give thee the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.

15:34.820 --> 15:39.780
So she wrote letters in Ahab's name and sealed them with his seal,

15:39.780 --> 15:46.100
and sent the letters unto the elders and the nobles that were in his city, dwelling with Naboth.

15:46.300 --> 15:53.300
And she wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast and set Naboth on high among the people,

15:53.300 --> 15:59.800
And set two men, sons of Belial before them, to bear witness against him, saying,

15:59.800 --> 16:07.800
Thou didst blaspheme God and the king, and then carry him out and stone him that he may die.

16:07.800 --> 16:15.080
and the men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who were the inhabitants of his city,

16:16.360 --> 16:23.480
did eat or did as Jezebel had sent unto them, and as it was written in the letters which she

16:23.480 --> 16:25.300
had sent unto them.

16:25.300 --> 16:30.300
They proclaimed a fast and set Naboth on high among the people.

16:30.300 --> 16:35.300
And there came in two men, children of Belial, and sat before him.

16:35.300 --> 16:42.300
And the men of Belial witnessed against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying,

16:42.300 --> 16:46.300
Naboth did blaspheme God and the king.

16:46.300 --> 16:52.000
Then they carried him forth out of the city and stoned him with stones that he died.

16:52.400 --> 16:57.400
Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, Naboth is stoned and is dead.

16:57.400 --> 17:03.600
And it came to pass, when Jezebel heard that Naboth was stoned and was dead, that Jezebel

17:03.600 --> 17:10.280
said to Ahab, Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he

17:10.280 --> 17:12.600
refused to give thee for money.

17:12.600 --> 17:15.320
For Naboth is not alive, but dead.

17:15.900 --> 17:22.700
And it came to pass when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab arose up to go down to the

17:22.700 --> 17:29.500
vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite to take possession of it. And the word of the Lord came to Elijah the

17:29.500 --> 17:38.220
Tishbite saying, arise go down to meet Ahab king of Israel which is in Samaria. Behold he is in the

17:38.220 --> 17:42.060
vineyard of Naboth whither he has gone down to possess it.

17:42.700 --> 17:49.280
And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the Lord, Hast thou killed and also

17:49.280 --> 17:51.340
taken possession?

17:51.340 --> 17:57.060
And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the Lord, In the place where dogs lick

17:57.060 --> 18:01.700
Lick the blood of Naboth, shall dogs lick thy blood, even thine.

18:02.100 --> 18:09.100
Ahab said to Elijah, hast thou found me, O mine enemy? And he answered, I have

18:09.100 --> 18:13.860
found thee, because thou hast sold thyself to work evil in the sight of the

18:13.860 --> 18:20.220
Lord. Behold, I will bring evil upon thee, and will take away thy posterity, and

18:20.220 --> 18:25.720
will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut

18:25.720 --> 18:29.720
up and left in Israel, and I will make thine house like the house of the

18:29.720 --> 18:30.080
the house.

18:30.100 --> 18:37.340
of Jeroboam the son of Nebat and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah for

18:37.340 --> 18:43.360
the provocation wherewith thou hast provoked me to anger and made Israel to

18:43.360 --> 18:51.620
sin and Jezebel also spake spake the Lord saying the dogs shall eat Jezebel

18:51.620 --> 18:54.000
by the wall of Jezreel

18:54.200 --> 19:01.720
Him that dieth of Ahab in the city the dog shall eat, and him that dieth in the field shall the

19:01.720 --> 19:07.880
fowls of the air eat. But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work

19:07.880 --> 19:12.400
wickedness in the sight of the Lord, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.

19:12.600 --> 19:19.560
and he did very abominably in following idols according to all things as did the Amorites,

19:19.560 --> 19:25.640
whom the Lord cast out before the children of Israel. And it came to pass when Ahab heard those

19:25.640 --> 19:32.520
words that he rent his clothes and put sackcloth upon his flesh and fasted and lay in sackcloth and

19:32.520 --> 19:33.960
went softly.

19:34.300 --> 19:38.460
And the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite saying,

19:38.460 --> 19:42.540
Seest thou Ahab humble at themself before me?

19:42.540 --> 19:45.580
Because he humbled at themself before me,

19:45.580 --> 19:48.740
I will not bring the evil in his days,

19:48.740 --> 19:53.740
but in his son's days will I bring evil upon his house.

19:55.340 --> 19:57.180
Brother Paul, could you pray for the preaching?

19:57.180 --> 19:59.060
Brother Paul, thanks so much for allowing us to hear

19:59.060 --> 20:01.380
your full chapter read out so we have the context

20:01.380 --> 20:02.300
of the sermon that we have.

20:02.300 --> 20:21.300
Amen. Alright, if so, you're at first Kings chapter number 21. If you want to go ahead and jump over to Proverbs chapter number nine, Proverbs chapter number nine. We're going to be coming back to first Kings chapter number one later in the sermon.

20:23.100 --> 20:26.600
But the title of my sermon this evening is

20:26.600 --> 20:30.600
Being Humble for Correction. Being Humble for Correction.

20:30.600 --> 20:35.100
I'm not sure if that's what I told Ryan. I think it's similar to what I told him the title should be.

20:35.100 --> 20:39.900
I'm not the best with titles. Somebody has to ask me what the title is.

20:39.900 --> 20:43.400
You know, right before the sermon starts. And I'm like, well, I don't know.

20:45.000 --> 20:51.000
But anyways, so the subject of my sermon tonight is basically that, you know, being

20:52.360 --> 20:58.200
humble to receive correction, right? And this is actually a pretty big subject in the Bible,

20:58.200 --> 21:04.760
especially specifically in the book of Proverbs. There's many verses that talk about,

21:04.760 --> 21:08.680
you know, being humble for correction. And I'm going to show a lot of examples of this.

21:09.700 --> 21:14.700
in the book of Proverbs and I'm pretty sure I did not get all of them. I'm pretty sure there's even more verses than what I

21:15.780 --> 21:17.780
even have compiled here.

21:18.100 --> 21:21.220
But the Bible says in Proverbs chapter number 9,

21:22.120 --> 21:23.200
verse number 8 says,

21:23.200 --> 21:28.780
Reprove not a scornor, lest he hate thee, rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.

21:29.300 --> 21:34.300
Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser.

21:34.300 --> 21:39.500
Teach a just man, and he will increase in learning."

21:39.500 --> 21:45.800
And so what we're going to see here is that the Bible will oftentimes contrast those that,

21:45.800 --> 21:50.300
you know, they don't want to hear correction, they don't want to have somebody tell them that they're wrong.

21:50.300 --> 21:53.800
They don't want to have somebody to tell them a different way of doing things or whatever.

21:54.200 --> 22:01.720
The Bible is contrasting that with somebody who is humble and they will receive instruction.

22:01.720 --> 22:07.960
And basically somebody who is righteous and will increase in learning, right?

22:07.960 --> 22:12.600
Because, you know, a scorner, that's obviously a scorner.

22:12.600 --> 22:15.320
To be a scorner is not like a positive thing.

22:15.320 --> 22:18.440
Like you don't want the Bible to be calling you a scorner.

22:19.000 --> 22:22.240
Because like what you know, what are they what are they scorning at? Can you go?

22:24.840 --> 22:30.760
What are they what are they scorning at they're going to be scorning at you know, when you think of a squirmer in the Bible

22:30.760 --> 22:32.700
It's like somebody's scorning at the Word of God

22:33.100 --> 22:37.980
right? Somebody like, ah, the Bible, like, what does God know? You think, you know, God created

22:37.980 --> 22:41.580
everything or whatever, and you think God knows more than me about how to run my life?

22:42.140 --> 22:45.820
You know, that's what you think of when you think of a scorner. At least that's what I think of when

22:45.820 --> 22:50.700
I think of a scorner. Somebody's scorning at God, scorning at the Bible, something like that.

22:51.980 --> 22:57.180
And so, you know, we'll prove not a scorner. You know, and these are the people that, you know,

22:57.180 --> 22:59.000
You know, you go and knock on their door.

22:59.300 --> 23:04.100
They're just like, you know, I don't I don't believe in God and you guys really think there's a heaven and a hell

23:04.100 --> 23:08.100
And you guys really believe in the Bible like this is the type of person that we're talking about

23:08.420 --> 23:12.700
Reprove not a scorner, you know and those type of people do they ever want to hear the gospel?

23:13.780 --> 23:15.780
No, not really

23:15.980 --> 23:18.080
Reprove not a scorner lest he hate thee

23:18.740 --> 23:20.740
Rebuke a wise man and he will

23:21.180 --> 23:25.740
Love thee right? So again, you know, we're contrasting these two things

23:26.400 --> 23:30.960
Somebody that's a scorner, they don't want to hear that they're wrong.

23:30.960 --> 23:35.440
They don't want to hear anybody tell them that the way that they're living their life is incorrect,

23:35.440 --> 23:38.960
the way that they're doing something is wrong, they're not interested,

23:38.960 --> 23:43.680
and in fact, if you let them know, if you tell them the truth, they're not going to appreciate it.

23:43.680 --> 23:44.720
They're going to hate you.

23:44.800 --> 23:48.600
Right and you know we see these people again, you know out so winning all the time

23:48.840 --> 23:52.580
You know, they are not interested in what we have to say and in fact a lot of times

23:52.580 --> 23:54.940
Sometimes they'll get mad that we even knocked on their door

23:55.400 --> 24:01.260
You know, they find out that we're from church and their accountants just falls and they're just like get off my property

24:01.480 --> 24:07.180
Good. Did you see the no no trespassing sign and you're like yours Matt says welcome. So I you know, I don't know

24:09.000 --> 24:11.360
I don't know.

24:11.360 --> 24:15.540
Me and brother Rudy, years and years ago, there was like a tiny sign at the end of a

24:15.540 --> 24:18.040
driveway that said, no trespassing.

24:18.040 --> 24:21.680
And we walked down the driveway and there was like this giant welcome mat.

24:21.680 --> 24:24.440
There was actually a sign next to their door that said, welcome.

24:24.440 --> 24:27.000
And they were like, didn't you see the sign?

24:27.000 --> 24:30.360
And Rudy's like, it says welcome.

24:30.360 --> 24:32.640
So you know, but that's a squirter.

24:33.300 --> 24:37.300
There's somebody that's just not interested in what the Bible has to say.

24:37.300 --> 24:41.300
They don't want to hear, they don't want to be told that they're wrong about anything.

24:41.300 --> 24:50.300
And so they get mad at you, but a wise man, you know, you rebuke a wise man,

24:50.300 --> 24:53.300
and they're going to be like, you know what, you're right.

24:53.300 --> 24:56.000
You're right. And I'm going to correct that.

24:56.200 --> 25:00.440
And so, you know, this is kind of the main thing of the sermon is that we, you know,

25:00.440 --> 25:05.240
we don't want to be a scorner. We want to be a wise person and wise people have humility.

25:05.880 --> 25:09.480
Because they're not just thinking that they're right about everything all the time.

25:10.360 --> 25:13.880
And, you know, there's always in our lives, there's always a temptation,

25:14.440 --> 25:18.040
you know, if when you're when you're confronted with the fact that you're wrong about something,

25:18.040 --> 25:20.280
there's always a temptation to resist and be like, no.

25:21.100 --> 25:23.100
We all kind of have that, right?

25:23.100 --> 25:25.100
And so it takes a little bit of effort to say,

25:25.100 --> 25:27.600
no, I'm going to be humble.

25:27.600 --> 25:30.300
I'm just going to be like, okay, maybe I was wrong about this,

25:30.300 --> 25:33.100
and I'm going to receive correction.

25:33.100 --> 25:35.800
But we're going to go through a lot of different scriptures about this.

25:35.800 --> 25:37.300
Proverbs 10, 17,

25:37.300 --> 25:42.300
He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction,

25:42.300 --> 25:47.100
but he that refuseth reprove earth.

25:47.100 --> 25:48.700
So, you know, he that...

25:48.900 --> 25:52.900
He that is in the way of life keepeth instruction. What does that mean?

25:52.900 --> 25:58.900
Well, somebody that keepeth instruction, it's like saying they internalized it.

25:58.900 --> 26:01.900
Right? They actually learned the lesson.

26:01.900 --> 26:04.900
You know, and what's the opposite of that?

26:04.900 --> 26:06.900
But he that refuses to approve earth.

26:06.900 --> 26:10.900
So, you know, you could tell somebody, you know, all about...

26:11.400 --> 26:18.400
You know, some, you know, like you could tell somebody all about how to do proper soul winning.

26:18.400 --> 26:25.400
Right? You could be giving them instruction, you could be giving them tips, you could be giving them all kinds of advice on how to do soul winning well, the proper way.

26:25.400 --> 26:34.400
And, you know, they could be like listening to you and nodding along, and then just do the complete opposite of what you say.

26:34.400 --> 26:38.400
You know, I had a guy one time.

26:39.300 --> 26:44.960
that he, you know, instead of like preaching the gospel, I mean, tech, I guess you could say technically he was preaching gospel,

26:44.960 --> 26:50.720
but like, you know, it seemed like he was mostly just trying to get people on the King James Bible,

26:50.720 --> 26:55.460
which is like, okay, yeah, you know, the King James Bible is good, like I'm King James only, okay.

26:55.460 --> 27:01.460
I believe the King James Bible is perfect, actually, you know, and the new versions are horrible.

27:01.460 --> 27:06.960
But like, this guy, as soon as he like, decided that somebody was saved, he'd be like, alright.

27:07.200 --> 27:09.200
What Bible do you have?

27:09.200 --> 27:11.400
You know, and they'd be like,

27:11.400 --> 27:13.480
oh, you know, why don't you have the King James?

27:13.480 --> 27:14.640
The King James is the best Bible.

27:14.640 --> 27:17.880
And it's like, bro, you know, there's a proper way to do this.

27:17.880 --> 27:18.920
Okay.

27:18.920 --> 27:22.480
Like, you know, just because they answered the questions right,

27:22.480 --> 27:25.280
that doesn't mean you need to interrogate them

27:25.280 --> 27:30.160
about the King James Bible in this really aggressive manner.

27:30.160 --> 27:34.000
You know, and then it's like, you know, you give them all kinds of advice,

27:34.000 --> 27:34.500
You know.

27:35.000 --> 27:37.640
And it's, you know, it just bounces off.

27:37.640 --> 27:41.080
Or like, okay, you know, when you get up to preach, you know,

27:41.080 --> 27:45.400
you shouldn't lull the entire crowd to sleep with your monotone voice,

27:45.400 --> 27:51.480
and then just light off like an, it's like an M-80 goes off when you smash the pulpit.

27:51.480 --> 27:53.160
It's like, you know...

27:54.700 --> 27:56.340
There's a way to do that, okay?

27:56.340 --> 27:59.180
Like, I'm not against smashing the pulpit, okay?

27:59.180 --> 28:01.140
Like, I've hit the pulpit many times,

28:01.140 --> 28:04.640
but, you know, it's like, there's a time and a place for it.

28:04.640 --> 28:06.540
You know, and if you're just, like, forcing it,

28:06.540 --> 28:08.280
and it just comes out of nowhere,

28:08.280 --> 28:10.740
and everyone's completely surprised,

28:10.740 --> 28:13.620
and it's like, you woke up three sleeping people,

28:13.620 --> 28:17.580
somebody called 911, you know, like, I don't know.

28:17.580 --> 28:21.080
It's just, but, you know, I've told somebody

28:21.080 --> 28:22.580
that multiple times,

28:22.800 --> 28:26.800
And it just, the next preaching time, it didn't matter.

28:26.800 --> 28:29.300
They're just gonna, no correction received.

28:29.300 --> 28:31.040
They're just gonna do it again.

28:31.040 --> 28:32.440
The exact same way.

28:32.440 --> 28:35.100
Just not even the same way, worse.

28:35.940 --> 28:37.380
Worse.

28:37.380 --> 28:39.480
It's like, okay.

28:39.480 --> 28:42.020
And then, yeah, and then there's other doctrinal errors

28:42.020 --> 28:45.660
as well that we're not gonna get into this evening.

28:45.660 --> 28:47.900
But, you know, again, you know, somebody that...

28:49.100 --> 28:52.540
you know, internalizes it, you know, the keepeth instruction,

28:52.540 --> 28:55.820
they're not gonna just go and just do it again.

28:55.820 --> 28:59.220
The same exact mistake, like

28:59.220 --> 29:03.140
on purpose, just to like rub it in your face, to be like, I'm not gonna listen to you

29:03.140 --> 29:04.260
and what you have to say.

29:04.260 --> 29:08.660
What do you, I don't think you know what you're talking about. It's like, okay, you know,

29:08.660 --> 29:09.340
that's a,

29:09.340 --> 29:12.100
you know, tell me, tell me, tell me, you don't think I know what I'm talking about

29:12.100 --> 29:12.980
without telling me

29:12.980 --> 29:15.500
You don't think I know what I'm talking about, right?

29:15.600 --> 29:19.400
But anyways, Proverbs 12.1, it says,

29:19.400 --> 29:21.700
whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge,

29:21.700 --> 29:26.200
but he that hateth reproof is brutish.

29:27.100 --> 29:30.900
So you love somebody that loves instruction.

29:30.900 --> 29:33.600
What's somebody that loves instruction?

29:33.600 --> 29:35.700
They love it when somebody corrects them.

29:36.400 --> 29:40.240
They're not going to bristle at it. They're not going to be like, ah, you know.

29:41.040 --> 29:46.220
And this is something that like, when somebody has some sort of an error in preaching,

29:47.380 --> 29:48.500
you know...

29:49.300 --> 29:54.300
When you go to correct them, it tells you a lot about the individual,

29:54.300 --> 29:59.300
the attitude that they have when you go to correct them on something, right?

29:59.300 --> 30:01.300
And certain people, they have a good attitude about it.

30:01.300 --> 30:03.300
They're just like, thank you for telling me this.

30:03.300 --> 30:06.300
I actually appreciate the fact that you're pointing these things out to me

30:06.300 --> 30:08.300
because I want to grow, because I want to learn. Why?

30:08.300 --> 30:13.300
Because I love instruction. I love knowledge.

30:13.900 --> 30:22.900
And, you know, so that is the type of person that we want to be, is somebody that is able to receive correction.

30:22.900 --> 30:23.900
That is a good thing.

30:24.200 --> 30:30.440
Okay, and so there's certain people that they love love. They it's like you just it's evident that they love knowledge

30:30.480 --> 30:35.740
They love instruction. This is a humble person. This is a person that you want to be like and

30:36.520 --> 30:40.100
But he that were that hated for proof is brutish

30:40.260 --> 30:47.940
So, you know the opposite of this the Bible saying that somebody that like bristles, you know at correction or for whatever

30:48.040 --> 30:49.300
Whatever it is

30:49.600 --> 30:53.100
Basically what the Bible is saying is that this person is dumb.

30:53.100 --> 30:54.800
This is a stupid person.

30:54.800 --> 30:55.760
You're an idiot.

30:55.760 --> 30:56.760
I mean, what is it?

30:56.760 --> 30:58.600
You know, the word brutish, right?

30:58.600 --> 30:59.400
What is that?

30:59.400 --> 31:02.100
What is a, you know, a brute?

31:02.100 --> 31:04.840
What do you think of when you think of a brute?

31:04.840 --> 31:07.000
Like somebody who's just really, you know,

31:07.000 --> 31:10.300
there might be a big old huge giant person that has no brains.

31:10.700 --> 31:13.260
You know, think of like, what is it, Frankenstein?

31:13.260 --> 31:14.900
The Frankenstein monster?

31:14.900 --> 31:17.580
What, did the Frankenstein monster,

31:17.580 --> 31:20.940
did it not have a brain or was it like, didn't have a heart?

31:20.940 --> 31:21.940
I'm gonna go with a brain

31:21.940 --> 31:23.900
because that fits my narrative right now.

31:25.160 --> 31:26.980
So, you know, he's like a giant beast

31:26.980 --> 31:29.740
that has all kinds of strength, but it's just dumb.

31:30.600 --> 31:31.440
Right?

31:31.440 --> 31:32.700
So that's, I mean, that's when you think

31:32.700 --> 31:34.540
of somebody who's brutish.

31:34.540 --> 31:37.340
You're just, you're an idiot, right?

31:37.340 --> 31:38.000
And so.

31:38.200 --> 31:41.800
he that hateth reproof is not like,

31:41.800 --> 31:45.480
like if you're doing something just the wrong way

31:45.480 --> 31:46.800
and somebody comes along and is like,

31:46.800 --> 31:50.480
hey, this is actually the correct way to do it.

31:51.760 --> 31:53.160
And you know, and it's somebody that knows

31:53.160 --> 31:54.040
what they're talking about.

31:54.040 --> 31:55.960
Maybe they've been doing it for years.

31:55.960 --> 31:57.480
They're proficient in it.

31:57.700 --> 32:00.700
They've been successful at doing whatever it is and you're just like,

32:00.700 --> 32:04.700
nah, you know, the way I'm going to do it is really the correct way.

32:04.700 --> 32:06.700
I know what I'm talking about.

32:06.700 --> 32:07.700
Right?

32:07.700 --> 32:10.700
And you're like, don't tell me that I'm doing anything wrong.

32:10.700 --> 32:13.700
The Bible is saying that that person is an idiot.

32:13.700 --> 32:14.700
That person is a fool.

32:14.700 --> 32:18.700
And here's the thing, you know, I'm sure, you know, I've been guilty of this.

32:18.700 --> 32:24.300
I'm sure probably almost all of us have been guilty of this at some point in the past.

32:24.800 --> 32:29.600
And it's likely we'll be guilty of it in the future, right?

32:29.600 --> 32:34.500
But the Bible talks about it a lot because it's something that I think most people...

32:35.100 --> 32:39.500
have some sort of, you know, an issue with it from one degree to another, right?

32:39.500 --> 32:43.800
You know, of course, you know, the Bible is going to be giving us the extreme examples, right?

32:43.800 --> 32:48.000
The Bible doesn't want to compare, you know, it'd be like comparing,

32:48.000 --> 32:54.100
if you think of like a moderate Republican and a moderate Democrat, right?

32:54.100 --> 32:57.800
They're just, you know, they're just both lame, weak, pathetic.

32:58.300 --> 33:01.580
people, right? Because it's like, so you believe in nothing, right?

33:01.580 --> 33:07.020
So the Bible doesn't want to compare those two because it's a stupid comparison because they're basically the same thing, right?

33:07.180 --> 33:10.540
So what the Bible wants to compare is like the far left

33:11.400 --> 33:16.080
with like actual libertarian, like actual conservatives, right?

33:16.080 --> 33:19.760
You see what I'm saying? Like there's an actual big difference between these two.

33:19.760 --> 33:23.080
Not like the middle here where it's just like, oh well,

33:23.080 --> 33:27.600
you know, I believe in 10% taxes and they believe in 12%, you know what I mean?

33:27.600 --> 33:32.280
So the Bible is always going to use these kind of two separate extremes.

33:33.280 --> 33:36.680
But, you know, at the end of the day, we're all somewhere...

33:37.100 --> 33:39.100
Somewhere, hopefully we're not over here, right?

33:39.100 --> 33:43.100
Hopefully we're somewhere on the better side of things.

33:43.100 --> 33:48.100
But again, we're all going to struggle with these things to one degree or another.

33:48.100 --> 33:54.100
And again, pride, I always say this, pride is one of those things that everybody struggles with,

33:54.100 --> 33:58.100
everybody has an issue with, everybody has some pride in their heart.

33:58.100 --> 34:00.100
You've got to suppress that thing.

34:01.100 --> 34:05.900
You gotta resist it. You gotta be like, no, you know, because we all have it. We all have that issue.

34:05.900 --> 34:09.800
And so again, you know, I think this is why the Bible has a lot of verses about it.

34:09.800 --> 34:14.400
And you know, I better start moving through some of these otherwise we're gonna be here for a while.

34:14.400 --> 34:17.200
Proverbs 13, 18, it says,

34:17.200 --> 34:20.900
Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction,

34:20.900 --> 34:25.800
But he that regardeth and reproof shall be honored.

34:26.500 --> 34:31.620
You know, again, right, you know, somebody that just ignores everything anybody has to say,

34:31.620 --> 34:35.060
you know, they're going to have a difficult time in life, right? If you think about, like,

34:35.060 --> 34:36.820
a homeless guy downtown...

34:37.100 --> 34:43.500
This verse is perfect for him because, you know, poverty and shame should be to him that refuses instruction.

34:43.500 --> 34:50.700
You know, you go look at a guy that's high on drugs, it's like that guy, he's just so humble.

34:50.700 --> 34:56.300
You know, he just, everything his teachers taught him, everything his parents taught him, everything, you know,

34:56.300 --> 35:03.900
a wise person in his life taught him, he just absorbed it, you know, and somehow we just have no idea how he ended up here.

35:05.900 --> 35:10.060
Didn't happen. We made it up. It's not real. It's fake, right?

35:12.060 --> 35:16.220
You know, the reason why he's there is because he didn't want the

35:16.220 --> 35:22.540
reproof, right? Poverty and shame. I mean, it's one thing like to be poor or whatever,

35:23.340 --> 35:27.660
but it's another thing to be like homeless. It's like that's a shameful thing.

35:27.660 --> 35:31.500
To be a homeless drug addict on the side of the road, that is a shameful thing.

35:32.400 --> 35:40.400
You know, just being somebody that works hard or whatever and they might not make as much money as everybody else or they're struggling financially.

35:40.400 --> 35:43.400
You know, somebody that's doing honest labor.

35:43.400 --> 35:49.400
You know, there's a big difference between somebody like that and a worthless drug addict on the side of the road.

35:49.400 --> 35:50.400
Right.

35:50.400 --> 35:56.400
And so, you know, poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth.

35:57.000 --> 36:00.740
instruction, but he that regardeth the reproof shall be honored."

36:00.740 --> 36:04.200
So, you know, somebody that does all the correct things in life,

36:04.200 --> 36:08.040
you know, that person is going to be honored.

36:08.040 --> 36:11.400
Be like, okay, you know, we like how so-and-so turned out.

36:11.400 --> 36:13.400
You know, they...

36:13.800 --> 36:18.000
graduated high school, you know, or maybe they graduated homeschool, whatever, right?

36:18.000 --> 36:23.000
They got a job, they started a career, and you know, they're getting married,

36:23.000 --> 36:25.700
and you know, they have children now, and they're raising their children.

36:25.700 --> 36:29.300
It's like, you know, this is somebody that we're proud of, right?

36:29.300 --> 36:34.000
You know, like, you want to be somebody that your parents, you know, are proud of someday, right?

36:34.000 --> 36:35.000
Well...

36:35.900 --> 36:39.500
Hopefully today, right, for a lot of us, some of us are actually adults.

36:39.500 --> 36:50.380
But yeah, I mean, we want to strive to be people that our parents would be like, hey,

36:50.380 --> 36:54.340
this is somebody who I'm proud of someday, right?

36:54.340 --> 36:58.300
And have a successful life.

36:58.300 --> 37:00.620
what are we going to do to be able to attain that?

37:00.900 --> 37:05.100
He that regardeth were proof, somebody that accepts instruction.

37:05.100 --> 37:06.100
Right?

37:07.100 --> 37:08.900
Proverbs 15, 5 says,

37:08.900 --> 37:12.100
A fool despiseth his father's instruction,

37:12.100 --> 37:16.700
but he that regardeth were proof is prudent.

37:16.700 --> 37:17.500
Right?

37:17.500 --> 37:18.900
And so, you know,

37:19.400 --> 37:25.240
young children, they would be wise to listen to their parents, listen to their father.

37:25.240 --> 37:31.560
Because their father, I guarantee, is going to have all kinds of wisdom, all kinds of good advice,

37:31.560 --> 37:37.000
all kinds of good things to impart to their children that their children should listen to.

37:37.600 --> 37:45.600
And oftentimes, especially once they start getting a little bit aware of things and whatnot,

37:45.600 --> 37:50.100
and they start learning some things, they learn a few facts here, a few facts there,

37:50.100 --> 37:52.600
they kind of start to think that they've got everything figured out.

37:53.600 --> 38:01.100
My son James, he thinks he's got a lot of knowledge, especially about dinosaurs.

38:01.100 --> 38:03.600
And fair enough, he knows a few things about dinosaurs.

38:04.400 --> 38:08.240
But he would be the fool to think he just knows everything about dinosaurs, right?

38:09.280 --> 38:13.040
And so, but you know, and there's also a lot of other things he has no idea about.

38:13.520 --> 38:16.240
Why? Because he's five, right?

38:16.560 --> 38:18.960
But you know, the thing about it though is that...

38:19.300 --> 38:21.900
you know, it would be wise of him.

38:21.900 --> 38:23.500
You know, of course, when you're five years old,

38:23.500 --> 38:25.400
it's kind of hard to have too much wisdom, you know.

38:25.400 --> 38:27.200
You kind of have to have your parents, like,

38:27.200 --> 38:29.300
getting the wisdom forced in, you know.

38:29.300 --> 38:31.200
It's not like five-year-olds just absorb wisdom.

38:31.200 --> 38:35.400
But, you know, when you start getting, you know...

38:35.400 --> 38:37.200
I don't know if that came out right.

38:37.400 --> 38:42.680
Parents, they do need to like force the wisdom in them, right? But children have

38:42.680 --> 38:46.040
at that age, I don't want to sound like I'm saying they don't have the ability to

38:46.040 --> 38:50.680
learn because they do. They absolutely have the ability to learn, right? That's

38:50.680 --> 38:55.400
you know, that's why you're forcing the learning in, right? Amen? But you know

38:55.400 --> 38:58.780
once they start getting a little bit older, you know, they think they've got

38:58.780 --> 39:05.300
things figured out. But you know what? Like 10 year olds, 12 year olds,

39:05.600 --> 39:11.120
13 year olds, 15 year olds, 16 year olds, 17, 18 year olds, they don't have things figured out.

39:12.240 --> 39:14.240
They don't know what they're talking about.

39:14.440 --> 39:18.720
Okay, you know when it comes to, you know, receiving advice from their parents,

39:19.240 --> 39:21.240
they really need to listen.

39:21.720 --> 39:23.720
Why? Because guess what?

39:24.480 --> 39:31.800
Parents, generally, they're usually, you know, a lot older than the children. That's typically how it works, right?

39:32.900 --> 39:35.200
And so they've been around the block a few times.

39:35.200 --> 39:37.200
They've lived life.

39:37.200 --> 39:39.800
They've, a lot of times they've made errors.

39:39.800 --> 39:41.200
They've made mistakes.

39:41.200 --> 39:42.100
And guess what they've done?

39:42.100 --> 39:44.300
They've learned from those mistakes.

39:44.300 --> 39:47.100
And maybe they've observed other people

39:47.100 --> 39:50.100
and learned from their mistakes, right?

39:50.100 --> 39:53.500
And so parents, you know, children,

39:53.500 --> 39:56.000
you should be listening to your parents.

39:56.000 --> 39:56.900
Why?

39:56.900 --> 39:58.800
Because they've been around the block.

39:59.000 --> 40:03.000
When they tell you something, I almost guarantee they know what they're talking about.

40:03.000 --> 40:07.000
99.9% of the time, they know what they're talking about.

40:07.000 --> 40:11.000
Now, I'm the exception. I'm that .0001%.

40:11.000 --> 40:15.000
Fat chance. I don't believe it.

40:15.000 --> 40:19.000
That's very likely not to be true.

40:19.000 --> 40:22.800
I mean, even if your parents were unsaved...

40:23.300 --> 40:27.860
The vast majority of things that they probably taught you when you were a kid were true.

40:27.860 --> 40:34.020
Because I mean, think about it, like parents, like even an unsaved parent,

40:34.020 --> 40:38.020
they're not just like, like if you think about like what they're teaching their children from day to day,

40:38.020 --> 40:40.660
they're not just like sitting them down and they're like, all right.

40:41.600 --> 40:43.600
Jesus is not God.

40:43.600 --> 40:45.600
Or they're not sitting down in the library

40:45.600 --> 40:48.600
and they're like, the NIV is the only real Bible.

40:48.600 --> 40:49.600
You know what I mean?

40:49.600 --> 40:51.600
Like that's not the type of things that unsaved parents

40:51.600 --> 40:54.600
are just teaching their children all the time.

40:54.600 --> 40:55.600
You know what I mean?

40:55.600 --> 40:57.600
They're just like, they're not sitting their children down

40:57.600 --> 40:59.600
and they're like, alright, we're going to learn about

40:59.600 --> 41:01.600
how once saved always saved isn't true.

41:02.500 --> 41:05.700
and how fundamental Baptists are actually Satan worshippers.

41:05.700 --> 41:11.200
Like, that's not, you know, that's not really what parents are just teaching their children every single day.

41:11.200 --> 41:17.300
You know, maybe like in some heretics household, that's something that they learn every once in a while or something like that.

41:17.300 --> 41:19.900
But guess what? The parents in this room...

41:20.300 --> 41:21.580
They're not teaching you that.

41:21.580 --> 41:23.980
They're actually teaching you the truth.

41:23.980 --> 41:26.220
So even if you think of like, oh, well, what about people

41:26.220 --> 41:27.420
whose parents are unsaved?

41:27.420 --> 41:28.300
Well, guess what?

41:28.300 --> 41:30.340
That doesn't apply to anybody in this room.

41:30.340 --> 41:34.260
Because all parents in this room are saved.

41:34.260 --> 41:35.060
And so guess what?

41:35.060 --> 41:37.460
You just have to listen to your parents.

41:37.460 --> 41:43.660
The 0.1%, I'm just going to erase that off the board.

41:43.660 --> 41:44.700
Anyways, so.

41:45.800 --> 41:49.800
And the Bible is saying that to ignore your parents' instruction,

41:49.800 --> 41:54.800
to ignore your father's instruction, instruction is to be foolish.

41:54.800 --> 41:57.300
Proverbs 15 verse number 10, it says,

41:57.300 --> 42:00.800
correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way,

42:00.800 --> 42:05.300
and he that hateth reproof shall die.

42:05.300 --> 42:10.200
And you know, again, this applies in a multitude of ways.

42:10.400 --> 42:15.200
You know, if you think about somebody that, hey, you know, he that hated her proof shall die.

42:15.200 --> 42:18.000
Well, that applies spiritually.

42:18.300 --> 42:22.580
Right? Because somebody, you know, we come and knock on somebody's door and say,

42:22.580 --> 42:26.380
hey, you're wrong about salvation. You need to get it right.

42:26.380 --> 42:29.980
You know, hey, you believe in a workspace salvation, that's wrong.

42:29.980 --> 42:34.540
We have a reproof for you. We have instruction for you.

42:34.540 --> 42:38.980
And you need to humble yourself and get saved. Reject what you believed before and get saved.

42:38.980 --> 42:44.300
You know, somebody that forsakes the way, right?

42:44.300 --> 42:45.900
He that hated the reproof.

42:47.300 --> 42:49.700
You don't know what you're talking about.

42:49.700 --> 42:50.900
I don't believe that.

42:50.900 --> 42:52.100
I don't believe the Bible.

42:52.100 --> 42:53.500
I reject that.

42:53.500 --> 42:54.900
They hate reproof.

42:54.900 --> 42:56.900
They're going to die spiritually.

42:56.900 --> 42:59.400
They're going to go to hell.

42:59.400 --> 43:03.300
But you can apply it physically as well.

43:03.300 --> 43:05.300
Now, with spiritually,

43:05.300 --> 43:07.700
basically it is absolute.

43:07.700 --> 43:09.700
If somebody will not receive correction

43:09.700 --> 43:11.800
when it comes to salvation,

43:11.800 --> 43:13.300
they are going to go to hell.

43:13.300 --> 43:15.200
They will die spiritually.

43:15.300 --> 43:21.060
But, you know, again, the drug addict on the side of the road is a perfect example of that

43:21.060 --> 43:22.060
physically, right?

43:22.060 --> 43:25.620
You know, he that hateth were proved shall die.

43:25.620 --> 43:30.620
You know, I'm guaranteed that every single drug addict out there, at some point or another,

43:30.620 --> 43:34.180
has had somebody tell them, don't do drugs.

43:37.400 --> 43:40.360
And yet here they are doing drugs and many of them die.

43:42.360 --> 43:45.560
Many of them are not dying because of a chemical called Narcan today,

43:46.600 --> 43:52.200
which probably should be illegal, but you know, should we make drugs illegal?

43:52.200 --> 43:59.800
Yes, one drug, Narcan. That'll solve the 90% of the problem, you know. Anyways.

44:00.800 --> 44:06.800
That was for free. That didn't necessarily come from the Bible, okay? Just disclaimer, that's Jason Graber's opinion, alright?

44:06.800 --> 44:10.800
I speak as a man, okay?

44:10.800 --> 44:14.800
But you would be wise to not need Narcan in your life.

44:14.800 --> 44:19.800
Alright? That's my reproof to everybody in this room.

44:19.800 --> 44:23.800
You know, if you need Narcan, you have made some major mistakes,

44:23.800 --> 44:26.600
and you need to make some major corrections in your life.

44:27.000 --> 44:32.000
And it's probably going to be a lot harder to make those corrections after you need dark can.

44:32.000 --> 44:37.000
Because, you know, because cocaine is a hell of a drug.

44:37.000 --> 44:43.000
And what's the one that's killing everybody? Fentanyl. Fentanyl is a hell of a drug.

44:43.000 --> 44:47.000
Right? And so, yeah. Anyways.

44:47.000 --> 44:54.000
Proverbs 15-12 says, This coroner loveth not one that reproveth him, neither will he go unto the wise.

44:54.900 --> 44:58.900
A scornor is never going to seek out somebody to give them instruction.

44:58.900 --> 45:00.900
They're never going to seek out the wise.

45:00.900 --> 45:03.900
They're never going to go find somebody to tell them what they're doing wrong.

45:03.900 --> 45:05.900
Why? Because that's what they hate in life.

45:05.900 --> 45:09.900
They hate it whenever somebody tells them that they've done something wrong.

45:09.900 --> 45:12.900
You know, they just want to hear affirmation.

45:12.900 --> 45:14.700
They want to hear words of affirmation.

45:16.000 --> 45:20.400
And so, you know, a lot of people, you know, that's kind of why they don't like biblical preaching,

45:20.400 --> 45:26.000
is because biblical preaching, a large amount of the time, is just here to tell you how you're wrong.

45:27.120 --> 45:31.280
How you screwed up. I mean, when you just like read through the Bible,

45:32.240 --> 45:36.320
it's just like over and over and over again. This person screwed up, that person screwed up,

45:36.320 --> 45:41.680
the nation screwed up, this king screwed up, you know, and it's like just everybody's screwing up.

45:41.680 --> 45:43.120
Even the prophets are screwing up.

45:43.700 --> 45:51.900
You know, you got the prophet of God that goes in and does the miracle, the unnamed prophet, right?

45:51.900 --> 45:57.500
He does this miracle. He gives, I can't remember the name of the king, but he gives the king leprosy.

45:57.500 --> 46:03.100
And then the king's like, peel my hand please! And he heals his hand, right? He does this amazing miracle.

46:03.100 --> 46:07.900
And then, you know, he's told he cannot eat or drink until he leaves the city.

46:08.200 --> 46:10.700
And then this other old preacher is like,

46:10.700 --> 46:11.620
hey, come eat with me.

46:11.620 --> 46:12.920
The angel told me.

46:12.920 --> 46:14.720
He screws up.

46:14.720 --> 46:17.600
And he's punished for it.

46:17.600 --> 46:20.040
So literally everybody is screwing up in the Bible,

46:20.040 --> 46:26.200
except for obviously the major exception is Jesus Christ.

46:26.200 --> 46:29.160
Jesus Christ is the exception a lot of times.

46:29.160 --> 46:31.400
If you think about the Old Testament,

46:31.400 --> 46:33.500
I was talking about this a couple weeks ago with the.

46:33.600 --> 46:36.800
with the guys, is the fact that, you know, in the Old Testament,

46:36.800 --> 46:40.800
it's like the oldest child is supposed to get

46:40.800 --> 46:45.400
the main inheritance. Like he's supposed to be the inheritor. Multiple times, right?

46:45.400 --> 46:49.360
Like almost every single time where you have a story about an older,

46:49.360 --> 46:53.120
the oldest sibling, he never gets the inheritance.

46:53.120 --> 46:56.520
And it's always, you know, either the second born or

46:56.520 --> 46:59.560
or just not the first born that actually gets the inheritance.

46:59.560 --> 47:01.400
You know if you think about...

47:01.500 --> 47:03.440
Jacob and Esau, right?

47:03.440 --> 47:04.780
Esau is the older brother,

47:04.780 --> 47:06.500
but he doesn't get the inheritance.

47:06.500 --> 47:07.900
Isaac and Ishmael.

47:07.900 --> 47:10.560
Ishmael, he's the older physical brother,

47:10.560 --> 47:13.100
but Isaac gets the inheritance.

47:13.100 --> 47:15.780
It's just over and over and over again.

47:15.780 --> 47:19.340
Think about David, was he the oldest son of Jesse?

47:19.340 --> 47:21.420
Absolutely not. He was not the oldest,

47:21.420 --> 47:23.500
but yet he's the one that becomes king.

47:23.500 --> 47:26.300
So obviously, all of that is like

47:26.300 --> 47:28.900
a giant picture of replacement theology.

47:29.300 --> 47:34.700
You know the Bible, once you understand replacement, and this has nothing to do with the sermon at all,

47:34.700 --> 47:38.900
but once you understand replacement theology, the Bible is just like,

47:38.900 --> 47:42.300
oh, it's so cool, right?

47:42.300 --> 47:47.700
And then you come to Jesus, he doesn't follow that same pattern. Why?

47:47.700 --> 47:49.900
Because he's the exception to the rules.

47:49.900 --> 47:50.500
Right.

47:50.500 --> 47:53.500
Because he is the firstborn.

47:53.800 --> 47:59.800
right? He is the firstborn of unnamed brethren and he isn't the inheritor, you know, of all promises.

47:59.800 --> 48:05.800
And guess what? He gets to distribute all the promises out to all the believers, right?

48:05.800 --> 48:16.800
And so, you know, he's the exception to the rule. But, you know, otherwise, pretty much almost every single other Bible characters screw up.

48:16.800 --> 48:17.640
You know.

48:17.900 --> 48:25.900
There are maybe some exceptions where the Bible doesn't really record anything that they did wrong.

48:25.900 --> 48:32.900
Like, if you think about like Job, the Bible doesn't really spell out anything that Job necessarily did wrong.

48:32.900 --> 48:34.400
But yeah.

48:34.700 --> 48:38.540
God shows up to Job in a whirlwind and he's just like,

48:38.540 --> 48:40.840
where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth?

48:40.840 --> 48:43.340
You know, gird up thy Lord and answer me like a man, buddy.

48:43.340 --> 48:43.840
Right?

48:43.840 --> 48:46.540
It's like, whoa, God, where'd that come from?

48:46.540 --> 48:47.580
Well, guess what?

48:47.580 --> 48:51.300
God can treat Job however he wants because Job, at the end of the day, is a sinner.

48:51.300 --> 48:51.940
That's right.

48:51.940 --> 48:52.260
Right?

48:52.260 --> 48:53.340
He's not perfect.

48:53.340 --> 48:54.660
He did make mistakes.

48:54.660 --> 48:58.900
It's just that the Bible didn't record and tell us about any of his mistakes necessarily.

48:58.900 --> 48:59.440
Right?

48:59.440 --> 49:00.440
And there's a reason for that.

49:00.440 --> 49:02.640
I believe the reason is because that way...

49:02.700 --> 49:05.740
somebody couldn't point to something that Job did and be like,

49:05.740 --> 49:07.540
see, that's really mine.

49:07.540 --> 49:09.500
He got punished.

49:09.500 --> 49:11.620
He was actually a punishment from God, right?

49:11.620 --> 49:15.260
And then like Joseph, you know, I can't think of anything

49:15.260 --> 49:20.620
that Joseph did that was actually wrong, right?

49:20.620 --> 49:24.220
But does that mean that Joseph is actually perfect and never sinned?

49:24.220 --> 49:25.020
Absolutely not.

49:25.020 --> 49:27.940
It's just that the Bible didn't point out anything that he did

49:27.940 --> 49:29.420
that was necessarily wrong.

49:29.420 --> 49:30.100
Right.

49:30.400 --> 49:35.200
And, you know, Joseph, and with also many characters in the Old Testament,

49:35.200 --> 49:39.680
Joseph is a great picture of Jesus because, you know, he gets thrown into the pit

49:40.720 --> 49:43.600
by his brethren when he didn't do anything wrong.

49:44.560 --> 49:47.520
In fact, all he did was tell them the truth, right?

49:47.520 --> 49:51.120
He told them the truth and he made them mad because of the truth.

49:51.760 --> 49:52.880
And it wasn't his fault.

49:53.680 --> 49:55.120
He's just pointing out their error.

49:55.680 --> 49:57.360
So who did I mean, who does that sound like?

49:57.800 --> 50:02.480
Sounds like Jesus Christ, right? He's showing up to the Pharisees.

50:02.480 --> 50:05.800
And, you know, he's like, hey, you guys did wrong.

50:05.800 --> 50:10.360
And, you know, the Bible says he came into his own and his own received him not.

50:10.360 --> 50:12.880
Where did they? They tried to throw him in the pit.

50:12.880 --> 50:18.840
And guess what? He had allowed them to throw him into the pit, right? Hell.

50:18.840 --> 50:22.120
And obviously, you know, he arose.

50:22.600 --> 50:24.840
I don't know, how long was Joseph in the pit?

50:24.840 --> 50:27.480
Was he in the pit for three days and three nights?

50:27.480 --> 50:28.800
I'd be a cool, I don't know if he was,

50:28.800 --> 50:31.000
that'd be a cool picture if he was in that pit

50:31.000 --> 50:32.360
for three days and three nights, right?

50:32.360 --> 50:34.760
But anyways, he may not have been,

50:34.760 --> 50:37.160
I don't know that off the top of my head.

50:37.160 --> 50:38.560
What verse am I in?

50:40.280 --> 50:41.200
Proverbs.

50:41.400 --> 50:43.400
We're in Proverbs 15.

50:43.400 --> 50:47.400
I gotta move along because I've got a lot more verses here.

50:47.400 --> 50:49.400
I'd like to use them.

50:49.400 --> 50:51.400
Proverbs 15.31, it says,

50:51.400 --> 50:53.400
The ear that heareth the reproof of life,

50:53.400 --> 50:55.400
abideth among the wise,

50:55.400 --> 50:57.400
he that refuseth instructions,

50:57.400 --> 50:59.400
despiseth his own soul,

50:59.400 --> 51:01.400
but he that heareth reproof,

51:01.400 --> 51:03.300
geteth understanding.

51:03.500 --> 51:08.440
Right again another great example if you're wise you're gonna you're gonna you're gonna hear understanding

51:08.440 --> 51:15.720
Proverbs 17 10 it says he were approved entereth more into a wise man than a hundred stripes into a fool

51:15.860 --> 51:18.340
So if you're if you're a wise person

51:18.980 --> 51:24.400
The Bible saying that hey somebody could just come along and just tell you that you're wrong about something

51:24.900 --> 51:27.780
And that is going to do more for you

51:28.340 --> 51:30.200
Than a fool

51:30.500 --> 51:36.900
who they could be beaten a hundred times and right it's not going to do anything to them.

51:36.900 --> 51:42.820
And there's you know there's going to be people like this on the earth you know they go they they

51:42.820 --> 51:48.180
commit some crime right and if you if the if the government were righteous we would have beating

51:48.180 --> 51:55.060
right but if they committed some crime and the government were to beat them a hundred times

51:55.060 --> 51:57.060
to a fool.

51:58.100 --> 52:03.300
You know, just telling a wise person that he did something wrong would be even more effectual.

52:03.300 --> 52:09.700
It would work even more. Right? And that's a pretty big difference. Being told you're wrong.

52:09.700 --> 52:14.900
Like, let's say, you know, I don't know, I can't think of any good examples.

52:14.900 --> 52:19.140
Because a wise person probably wouldn't be robbing a bank or robbing anybody, right? Amen?

52:19.940 --> 52:23.620
But if you had two people that robbed a liquor store,

52:24.100 --> 52:28.200
Right? And, you know, one of them happened to be wise.

52:28.200 --> 52:30.700
I don't know why a wise person is robbing a liquor store,

52:30.700 --> 52:35.000
but just go along with my example.

52:35.000 --> 52:37.700
Go with me with my folly here for a minute, okay?

52:37.700 --> 52:40.600
If one of them is wise and the other one's a fool,

52:40.600 --> 52:42.200
if you just tell the wise person,

52:42.200 --> 52:48.400
hey, robbing, for one, robbing is wicked according to the Bible,

52:48.400 --> 52:49.400
And also...

52:49.600 --> 52:52.600
Why add a liquor store? That's wicked according to the Bible.

52:52.600 --> 52:58.400
If you just tell them that, that's going to do more for the wise guy than if you take the fool

52:58.400 --> 53:01.100
and put him down on his back and just beat him a hundred times.

53:01.100 --> 53:03.000
You give him a hundred stripes.

53:03.000 --> 53:07.000
What's a stripe? That's when it leaves a mark.

53:07.000 --> 53:10.600
So you leave a hundred marks on the dude's back.

53:11.900 --> 53:16.200
the fool is still more likely to go and commit the crime again

53:16.200 --> 53:19.400
than the wise guy that just heard the reproof

53:19.400 --> 53:22.000
like you just showed him from the Bible that it's wrong and he's like,

53:22.000 --> 53:25.200
oh, I'm not going to do it again, right?

53:25.200 --> 53:28.000
And so, you know, that's the difference.

53:28.000 --> 53:30.300
And that's a pretty big difference.

53:30.300 --> 53:32.500
Like a hundred stripes.

53:32.500 --> 53:34.600
Imagine being beaten a hundred times.

53:34.800 --> 53:36.000
I don't want to.

53:36.000 --> 53:37.300
You go ahead and imagine that,

53:37.300 --> 53:39.300
and I'm going to move to the next scripture.

53:39.300 --> 53:41.500
It says, Proverbs 19.25,

53:41.500 --> 53:41.900
it says,

53:41.900 --> 53:43.100
Smite a scornor,

53:43.100 --> 53:45.600
and the simple will beware,

53:45.600 --> 53:47.900
and reprove the one that hath understanding,

53:47.900 --> 53:51.300
and he will understand knowledge.

53:51.300 --> 53:54.400
So, you know, the scornors here,

53:54.400 --> 53:57.400
they're getting kind of the short end of the stick here.

53:57.400 --> 53:59.200
You know, it says smite the scornor.

53:59.200 --> 54:01.000
Of course, what is smite?

54:01.000 --> 54:02.000
That means to hit him.

54:02.800 --> 54:07.760
You know, so a squirter, you know, maybe they're shooting off their mouth to somebody

54:07.760 --> 54:14.560
and somebody just boom knocks them out. You know, even somebody who's dumb, right?

54:14.560 --> 54:20.720
Because it says the simple ones will beware, right? Even somebody who's not that smart,

54:20.720 --> 54:23.000
they don't have that many brain cells.

54:23.600 --> 54:28.240
You know, they're going to learn from that. They're going to be like, oh, I have received instruction.

54:32.640 --> 54:37.440
You know, and, and, reprove, reprove the one that has understanding, he will understand.

54:38.320 --> 54:44.240
Which, I think I read the wrong one here. I don't know. I've got a lot of verses. What

54:44.240 --> 54:47.840
verse did I just read? Was it 1925? Smite is cornered. Yes, it was.

54:48.300 --> 54:54.540
It says, and reprove one that hath understanding and he will understand knowledge.

54:54.540 --> 54:57.900
So you know, you got to hit a scorner sometimes.

54:57.900 --> 55:01.340
You know, hopefully none of us have to hit any scorners actually.

55:01.340 --> 55:03.340
Caveat, right?

55:03.340 --> 55:10.940
But you know, you can hit a scorner, you know, and other people are going to learn, but the scorner won't.

55:10.940 --> 55:12.800
The guy that actually got hit won't.

55:13.100 --> 55:17.900
And then, you know, you just reprove one that has the understanding, you just tell them that they're wrong,

55:17.900 --> 55:22.300
and he will get the knowledge, he'll actually understand it.

55:22.300 --> 55:24.300
Proverbs 25-12 says,

55:24.300 --> 55:34.100
As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear.

55:34.100 --> 55:35.500
So,

55:36.800 --> 55:41.960
You know, when you tell somebody who, you know, they have humility, right?

55:41.960 --> 55:43.760
They're a wise human being.

55:43.760 --> 55:44.720
They're not filled with pride.

55:44.720 --> 55:47.240
You just tell them that they're wrong.

55:47.240 --> 55:48.000
They correct it.

55:48.000 --> 55:51.240
It's like a golden ornament, right?

55:51.240 --> 55:56.600
It would be like a beautiful piece of gold on some woman somewhere.

55:56.600 --> 55:57.080
You know what I mean?

55:57.080 --> 55:59.280
Like it's something good to behold.

56:00.400 --> 56:03.600
Right? And so, you know, it's like,

56:03.600 --> 56:05.300
it's a beautiful thing when somebody

56:05.300 --> 56:07.800
can just take correction.

56:07.800 --> 56:09.540
Right? You know, they're not just like,

56:09.540 --> 56:11.680
making a scene or something like that.

56:11.680 --> 56:14.580
It's a beautiful thing when somebody can just learn.

56:14.580 --> 56:16.140
You know, and be like, you know what?

56:16.140 --> 56:17.680
That's what the Bible says.

56:17.680 --> 56:19.640
You know? And if the Bible says it,

56:19.640 --> 56:20.980
then that's what I believe.

56:20.980 --> 56:23.280
Isn't it a beautiful thing when somebody gets saved

56:23.280 --> 56:25.480
out soul-wanting?

56:25.480 --> 56:25.900
Right?

56:26.000 --> 56:28.500
I mean, they're able to take correction.

56:28.500 --> 56:30.200
Like, hey, you were wrong about this.

56:30.200 --> 56:33.400
You know, you believed in workspace salvation.

56:33.400 --> 56:35.800
You know, and they're just, they're shown that they're wrong,

56:35.800 --> 56:37.100
and they believe, and they get saved.

56:37.100 --> 56:38.200
It's a beautiful thing.

56:38.200 --> 56:40.900
Okay. Proverbs 29, 1, it says,

56:40.900 --> 56:44.000
He that being often reproved hardeneth his neck,

56:44.000 --> 56:49.800
shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

56:49.800 --> 56:51.300
So, you know, again,

56:52.800 --> 56:58.160
He that being often reproved hardness is next so some this is somebody that's being told they're wrong all the time and

56:58.480 --> 57:01.760
Instead of being humble having humility they

57:03.080 --> 57:09.680
You know they get filled with pride and they just ignore you know, whatever it is that they're being told about

57:10.560 --> 57:15.080
And so, you know, there's certain things where it's like if you don't correct this

57:15.840 --> 57:17.840
You're gonna be destroyed

57:18.440 --> 57:20.300
Suddenly and not without remedy

57:20.900 --> 57:30.900
And there's certain mistakes that people can make in their life where they're going to be destroyed and there's no solution.

57:30.900 --> 57:35.900
There's nothing that can be done. We can't undo whatever it is.

57:35.900 --> 57:45.900
People that are foolish and they fornicate and sleep around when they're younger, there are certain diseases that there's no cure for.

57:49.100 --> 57:51.500
I mean, we think about AIDS.

57:51.500 --> 57:54.000
There's no cure for AIDS.

57:54.000 --> 57:58.400
And so, you know, if young people are just sleeping around

57:58.400 --> 58:03.300
and committing fornication, look, the Bible's warning you,

58:03.300 --> 58:06.600
you know, don't do that. Why? Because there's consequences.

58:06.600 --> 58:10.900
And, you know, somebody could harden their neck, right?

58:10.900 --> 58:12.900
And then all of a sudden they have AIDS.

58:13.900 --> 58:18.500
which is a disease that will cut your life down, right?

58:18.500 --> 58:22.500
Or somebody, again, will bring up the drug addict.

58:22.500 --> 58:25.940
I don't know, the drug addict is just like the quintessential fool.

58:25.940 --> 58:32.500
Like it's just somebody that just has not listened, like dude.

58:32.500 --> 58:36.020
And it's somebody that when you're growing up,

58:36.020 --> 58:40.140
they're just a byword and a proverb for just literally everybody.

58:41.000 --> 58:43.600
And then yet people still end up becoming them.

58:43.600 --> 58:46.760
It's like how? How?

58:46.760 --> 58:51.320
Well, it's because people are foolish, that's how.

58:51.320 --> 58:55.760
And, you know, so somebody who becomes a drug addict, right,

58:55.760 --> 58:58.600
they're hardening their neck, they don't listen, they don't listen,

58:58.600 --> 59:01.680
they're told like, hey, this is going to kill you.

59:01.680 --> 59:04.280
They're like, you know, you don't know what you're talking about.

59:05.000 --> 59:07.100
You know, they should be destroyed suddenly.

59:07.100 --> 59:11.920
You know, one day they just take a little too much and they're dead.

59:11.920 --> 59:13.880
There's no remedy.

59:13.880 --> 59:16.580
There's no solution. Right?

59:16.580 --> 59:20.380
And so there's people that are like this in the world.

59:20.380 --> 59:24.560
And you know, you think about this with the gospel too.

59:24.560 --> 59:29.360
You know, there could be people out there that have been told multiple times how to be saved.

59:29.360 --> 59:30.860
And they're just like, no.

59:31.300 --> 59:34.100
No. And they're just rejecting it and rejecting it.

59:34.100 --> 59:37.600
And at some point, you know, obviously this is June, right?

59:37.600 --> 59:40.700
This is straight Pride Month, okay?

59:40.700 --> 59:46.300
You know, there's certain people out there that they just reject God repeatedly

59:46.300 --> 59:51.300
and they're hardening their neck and they get destroyed.

59:51.300 --> 59:52.900
And that without remedy.

59:53.200 --> 59:58.200
And you know, there's some people where they cannot believe the gospel anymore.

59:58.200 --> 01:00:02.200
God has basically removed their ability to believe the gospel.

01:00:02.200 --> 01:00:04.200
And so they are destroyed.

01:00:04.200 --> 01:00:07.200
That is somebody who is destroyed and guess what?

01:00:07.200 --> 01:00:09.200
There is no remedy.

01:00:09.200 --> 01:00:13.200
You know, the sodomites, they're destroyed.

01:00:13.200 --> 01:00:15.200
And without remedy.

01:00:15.200 --> 01:00:17.200
There's no hope for those people.

01:00:17.200 --> 01:00:19.200
You know, there's not going to be a cure for AIDS.

01:00:19.200 --> 01:00:21.000
You know, so...

01:00:21.400 --> 01:00:25.400
They're destroyed in multiple different ways, right?

01:00:25.400 --> 01:00:29.900
I mean, for one, they're just cursed to be a filthy homo for the rest of their lives.

01:00:29.900 --> 01:00:34.300
I mean, there's no way I could imagine that.

01:00:34.300 --> 01:00:35.900
The horror of that.

01:00:35.900 --> 01:00:38.900
You know, I agree with John Christostome.

01:00:39.300 --> 01:00:41.600
He's like, there's no worse punishment.

01:00:41.600 --> 01:00:45.000
If you had to go to a thousand hells,

01:00:45.000 --> 01:00:48.300
it would be better to go there than to become a homo.

01:00:48.300 --> 01:00:51.300
Like, what a horribleness.

01:00:51.800 --> 01:00:55.080
I approve that message, okay? I agree with John Chrysostom.

01:00:55.080 --> 01:01:00.520
You know, I think he's like a... I guess he's like a Catholic saint or whatever.

01:01:00.520 --> 01:01:11.720
But even the Catholic saints, you know, of yesteryear had enough sense to know that that's the worst thing that could ever befall a human being is to become a homo, okay?

01:01:11.720 --> 01:01:16.680
Happy straight pride month, okay?

01:01:16.680 --> 01:01:17.960
All right, anyways.

01:01:18.300 --> 01:01:20.300
What, where are we going here?

01:01:20.300 --> 01:01:24.300
Alright, go ahead and turn to second Chronicles.

01:01:24.300 --> 01:01:29.300
So I showed a whole bunch of verses from Proverbs

01:01:29.300 --> 01:01:34.300
about how, you know, we need to be humble to receive instruction.

01:01:34.300 --> 01:01:38.300
Right? Receive instruction, take correction, don't harden your neck,

01:01:38.300 --> 01:01:42.300
be reprude, don't be proud.

01:01:42.300 --> 01:01:43.300
You know...

01:01:44.500 --> 01:01:49.500
You know, being a proud human being is not a good thing.

01:01:49.500 --> 01:01:51.500
Right? It's not going to help you.

01:01:51.500 --> 01:01:57.500
You know, that's like one of the biggest flaws that people point out about Donald Trump, right?

01:01:57.500 --> 01:02:01.500
Probably like the most fun thing to point out about him, right?

01:02:03.800 --> 01:02:10.800
I'm super humble. I get along with humility really well. We made a great deal.

01:02:10.800 --> 01:02:16.600
I told humility that if you come at me again with any other personal attacks...

01:02:16.900 --> 01:02:18.660
I'm going to tariff the heck out of you.

01:02:18.660 --> 01:02:21.780
We're going to hit you with 1,000% tariffs, humility.

01:02:21.780 --> 01:02:24.100
And I made a great deal with humility.

01:02:24.100 --> 01:02:25.660
And I get along with humility well.

01:02:25.660 --> 01:02:27.140
Nobody knows humility like I do.

01:02:27.140 --> 01:02:29.100
Nobody does humility like I do.

01:02:29.100 --> 01:02:32.420
I'm actually the most humble, most humble person

01:02:32.420 --> 01:02:33.100
I've ever met.

01:02:33.100 --> 01:02:37.660
You know, it's a major flaw, right?

01:02:37.660 --> 01:02:39.300
It's my favorite flaw about Trump.

01:02:39.300 --> 01:02:40.500
Ha ha ha.

01:02:41.300 --> 01:02:44.580
I mean, I don't know. I just I can't miss an opportunity for that. All right. I

01:02:45.620 --> 01:02:47.780
Apologize. Okay. I'm sorry you had to

01:02:48.980 --> 01:02:52.120
Sit through that. All right. Second Chronicles chapter number two

01:02:53.500 --> 01:02:56.260
Second Chronicles, yes, I had to force it in there somehow.

01:02:56.260 --> 01:02:57.540
All right, all right.

01:02:57.540 --> 01:02:59.380
I'll confess you my faults.

01:02:59.380 --> 01:03:01.020
All right, Second Chronicles chapter number two,

01:03:01.020 --> 01:03:01.860
verse number 14, it says,

01:03:01.860 --> 01:03:04.540
"'If my people, which are called by my name,

01:03:04.540 --> 01:03:07.240
shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face

01:03:07.240 --> 01:03:09.120
and turn from their wicked ways,

01:03:09.120 --> 01:03:12.240
then will I hear from heaven and I will forgive their sin

01:03:12.240 --> 01:03:14.780
and will heal their land.'"

01:03:14.780 --> 01:03:17.740
So this is a promise from God, like look,

01:03:18.700 --> 01:03:21.400
even if you screwed up, even if you've messed up.

01:03:22.000 --> 01:03:25.300
You know, there's hope for you, right?

01:03:25.300 --> 01:03:28.000
Because, you know, if you've gone out of the way,

01:03:28.000 --> 01:03:29.800
if you've refused instruction in the past,

01:03:29.800 --> 01:03:31.600
and you've gone into the way of wickedness,

01:03:31.600 --> 01:03:33.300
well, guess what?

01:03:33.300 --> 01:03:36.300
God has mercy available.

01:03:36.300 --> 01:03:42.100
And, you know, if we humble ourselves, right, that's...

01:03:42.700 --> 01:03:49.700
One of the big keys here is that we have to humble ourselves and we pray and seek His face.

01:03:49.700 --> 01:03:52.700
But guess what? We also have to turn from our wicked ways. Amen?

01:03:52.700 --> 01:03:56.700
You know, and as a nation we got to turn from our wicked ways.

01:03:56.700 --> 01:04:00.700
We got to turn from all the different wickedness that's going on in this nation.

01:04:00.700 --> 01:04:04.700
You know, and God can bless us. Right?

01:04:04.700 --> 01:04:06.700
But you know, is that going to happen? Well...

01:04:07.000 --> 01:04:11.500
I don't know, it seems like there's going to have to be some hardship before that happens.

01:04:11.500 --> 01:04:15.000
I don't know, I don't know. It's like, I don't know.

01:04:15.000 --> 01:04:18.000
It's looking pretty bleak out there, right?

01:04:18.000 --> 01:04:22.000
But, you know, we can have blessing in our own lives though, you know.

01:04:22.000 --> 01:04:24.500
And as a church, we can have blessing for our church.

01:04:24.500 --> 01:04:30.000
And so, you know, in our own personal lives, it's like, hey, if my people, who's my people?

01:04:30.000 --> 01:04:32.500
Well, that's us. That's us, my friend.

01:04:32.500 --> 01:04:34.000
Which are called by my name.

01:04:34.300 --> 01:04:40.300
Right? So not the heathen of this world. These are actually Bible-believing Christians.

01:04:40.300 --> 01:04:46.800
People that are saved shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from the wicked ways.

01:04:46.800 --> 01:04:52.800
Right? If we have humility and we're like, hey, we're wrong about this.

01:04:52.800 --> 01:04:59.800
You know, I did this wicked thing and I'm acknowledging it to God and I'm going to turn from that.

01:05:00.200 --> 01:05:04.200
And I'm going to seek Him, then God will hear from heaven,

01:05:04.200 --> 01:05:08.560
and will forgive our sins and heal our land.

01:05:08.560 --> 01:05:12.160
And so obviously we understand the fact that Jesus has,

01:05:12.160 --> 01:05:15.040
if we've had trust in Him, He's forgiven us for all of our sins,

01:05:15.040 --> 01:05:16.800
past, present, and future.

01:05:16.800 --> 01:05:20.560
And of course to receive that, there's humility involved.

01:05:20.560 --> 01:05:21.400
But...

01:05:21.900 --> 01:05:25.700
You know, just in our day-to-day lives though, God can have mercy on us,

01:05:25.700 --> 01:05:28.340
or He can come down hard on us, right?

01:05:28.340 --> 01:05:34.980
He can come in and He can destroy us in our life, in our physical life.

01:05:34.980 --> 01:05:37.460
Obviously, He will not destroy us spiritually,

01:05:37.460 --> 01:05:40.700
but He can come down and have great punishment for us on this earth,

01:05:40.700 --> 01:05:45.500
if we don't humble ourselves and say, hey, I was wrong.

01:05:47.300 --> 01:05:50.740
James chapter number four verse number six says, but he giveth more grace

01:05:52.020 --> 01:05:57.880
Wherefore he saith God resisteth the proud but giveth grace to the humble

01:05:58.380 --> 01:06:01.180
You know, God's not gonna have that much grace for Donald Trump

01:06:01.460 --> 01:06:08.480
In fact, he's you know, he's gonna I believe he's gonna have zero grace for Donald Trump. Why well for one he's filled with pride

01:06:09.140 --> 01:06:11.140
You know and also he's

01:06:11.700 --> 01:06:17.180
Covered up the Epstein files along with you know aside from the fact that he's just full of pride right a lot of issues there

01:06:17.260 --> 01:06:20.140
So I don't think he's gonna get any grace from God

01:06:20.780 --> 01:06:25.100
But if you boil it down though, you know, he could have at some point in his life

01:06:25.900 --> 01:06:27.900
been humble and

01:06:27.940 --> 01:06:32.260
Realized that he's not perfect and realize that you can't just avoid sinning

01:06:32.800 --> 01:06:36.080
Right? You can't just, oh, you know, I just don't sin.

01:06:36.080 --> 01:06:38.600
I just avoid sinning. It's a lot easier that way.

01:06:38.600 --> 01:06:41.720
You know, you can learn from me. If you just avoid sinning, it's a lot easier.

01:06:41.720 --> 01:06:44.480
Then I don't have to ask God for forgiveness.

01:06:44.480 --> 01:06:47.800
You know, this is an extremely proud person, right?

01:06:47.800 --> 01:06:52.080
It says you don't even have to ask God for forgiveness.

01:06:52.080 --> 01:06:57.400
Dude, like that's next level, you know, pride.

01:06:57.700 --> 01:07:00.780
It's like, you must have been born for the month of June, buddy.

01:07:00.780 --> 01:07:01.580
Jeez.

01:07:01.580 --> 01:07:04.060
And he was born in June, right?

01:07:04.060 --> 01:07:06.500
Of course, there's nothing wrong with being born the month of June.

01:07:06.500 --> 01:07:08.940
You know, June is actually my favorite month.

01:07:08.940 --> 01:07:10.260
I like June.

01:07:10.260 --> 01:07:12.540
I like the weather.

01:07:12.540 --> 01:07:15.000
I like the fact that the days are really long.

01:07:15.100 --> 01:07:18.600
It's not too hot yet. It's a great month.

01:07:18.600 --> 01:07:21.700
You drive along the wheat fields, all the weed is green.

01:07:21.700 --> 01:07:23.400
I like June.

01:07:23.400 --> 01:07:25.000
And I think that a lot of people like June.

01:07:25.000 --> 01:07:27.000
That's why the homos want to hijack it.

01:07:27.000 --> 01:07:28.700
But again, I don't observe Pride Month.

01:07:28.700 --> 01:07:31.700
I don't believe in it. I don't think it's real.

01:07:31.700 --> 01:07:33.200
No?

01:07:33.200 --> 01:07:35.400
I believe in straight Pride Month.

01:07:35.400 --> 01:07:37.500
Anyway.

01:07:37.800 --> 01:07:45.240
1 Peter 5 says likewise ye younger submit yourselves unto the elder.

01:07:45.240 --> 01:07:54.040
Yea all of you be subject one to another and be clothed with humility for God resisteth the proud and giveth grace unto the humble.

01:07:54.040 --> 01:07:57.480
So again same idea. God is going to be giving grace.

01:07:57.700 --> 01:08:01.700
to the humble, but he's going to be resisting the proud.

01:08:01.700 --> 01:08:04.700
Okay, so we don't want to be filled with pride in our lives.

01:08:04.700 --> 01:08:08.700
We want to humble ourselves, realize that we can be wrong about things,

01:08:08.700 --> 01:08:11.700
and we realize that we've made mistakes in our lives,

01:08:11.700 --> 01:08:14.700
and that we just need to admit that we're wrong when we're wrong.

01:08:14.700 --> 01:08:17.700
Right? And again, you know, this is something we all have to work on

01:08:17.700 --> 01:08:21.700
because there's that, you know, we all have that pride within us

01:08:21.700 --> 01:08:23.500
that wants to come out.

01:08:23.800 --> 01:08:26.800
You know, you just don't let them out, right?

01:08:26.800 --> 01:08:33.800
But there's many examples in the Bible of people who made massive mistakes, huge mistakes,

01:08:33.800 --> 01:08:38.800
but when they humbled themselves, God had mercy on them.

01:08:38.800 --> 01:08:41.400
And I just want to show a few examples of this.

01:08:42.800 --> 01:08:44.800
before we close tonight.

01:08:44.800 --> 01:08:47.300
And I'm going to run through these pretty quickly

01:08:47.300 --> 01:08:50.300
since it's already pretty late here.

01:08:50.300 --> 01:08:52.300
It says in 2 Chronicles 12.1, it says,

01:08:52.300 --> 01:08:53.800
"...and it came to pass,

01:08:53.800 --> 01:08:56.300
when Rehoboam had established the kingdom

01:08:56.300 --> 01:08:57.800
and had strengthened himself,

01:08:57.800 --> 01:09:00.300
he forsook the law of the Lord and all Israel with him.

01:09:00.300 --> 01:09:04.300
And it came to pass that in the fifth year of King Rehoboam,

01:09:04.300 --> 01:09:05.800
Shekiah, king of Egypt..."

01:09:06.500 --> 01:09:11.620
came up against Jerusalem because he had transgressed against the Lord

01:09:11.620 --> 01:09:18.260
with 1,200 chariots and 3,000 horsemen, and the people were without number that came with him out of Egypt,

01:09:18.260 --> 01:09:26.100
and the Lubbims and the Sukkims and the Ethiopians, and he took the fenced cities

01:09:26.300 --> 01:09:30.600
which pertained to Judah, and came to Jerusalem.

01:09:30.600 --> 01:09:34.100
Then came Shemaiah the prophet to Rehoboam,

01:09:34.100 --> 01:09:40.200
and the princes of Judah that were gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shekiah,

01:09:40.200 --> 01:09:44.200
and said unto them, Thus saith the Lord, Ye have forsaken me,

01:09:44.200 --> 01:09:49.000
and therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shekiah.

01:09:49.100 --> 01:09:53.200
whereupon the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves,

01:09:53.200 --> 01:09:55.500
and they said, The Lord is righteous.

01:09:55.500 --> 01:09:58.300
And when the Lord saw that they humbled themselves,

01:09:58.300 --> 01:10:01.000
the word of the Lord came to Shemaiah, saying,

01:10:01.000 --> 01:10:02.400
They have humbled themselves.

01:10:02.400 --> 01:10:05.200
Therefore I will not destroy them,

01:10:05.200 --> 01:10:08.100
but I will grant them some deliverance,

01:10:08.100 --> 01:10:11.800
and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem

01:10:11.800 --> 01:10:13.300
by the hand of Shekiah.

01:10:13.300 --> 01:10:14.600
Nevertheless...

01:10:15.700 --> 01:10:25.300
they shall be his servants that they may know my service and the service of the kingdoms of the countries.

01:10:25.300 --> 01:10:30.100
And so we see here that, you know, Rehoboam, you know, all of his advisors,

01:10:30.100 --> 01:10:37.900
when they heard the bad news, right, that they're going to be basically destroyed, you know, they humbled themselves.

01:10:38.300 --> 01:10:40.200
They didn't rebel against God and be like,

01:10:40.200 --> 01:10:41.700
no, we're going to win the battle,

01:10:41.700 --> 01:10:44.300
and who cares what you think?

01:10:44.300 --> 01:10:46.440
They actually did humble themselves.

01:10:46.440 --> 01:10:50.520
And so the Lord had mercy on them.

01:10:50.520 --> 01:10:54.160
And Rehoboam, this isn't like a small mistake.

01:10:54.160 --> 01:10:59.560
Basically, he led the nation away from the Lord.

01:10:59.560 --> 01:11:01.800
This is a pretty big deal.

01:11:01.800 --> 01:11:04.000
This is not like some small thing that he did.

01:11:04.000 --> 01:11:05.280
But yet when...

01:11:05.500 --> 01:11:08.540
He and all of his advisors humbled themselves.

01:11:08.540 --> 01:11:10.300
God had mercy on them.

01:11:11.360 --> 01:11:15.660
First Kings 21, this is the chapter that we read.

01:11:15.660 --> 01:11:17.540
Took me a while to get here.

01:11:17.540 --> 01:11:19.180
First Kings chapter number 21,

01:11:19.180 --> 01:11:21.900
this is another example of God having mercy on somebody

01:11:21.900 --> 01:11:23.500
because they humbled themselves.

01:11:25.020 --> 01:11:27.940
And this is of course, to give you the context real quick,

01:11:27.940 --> 01:11:30.060
you know Ahab, right?

01:11:30.060 --> 01:11:31.760
He has Nabal killed.

01:11:32.700 --> 01:11:34.700
for a vineyard.

01:11:34.700 --> 01:11:36.700
Nabal doesn't want to give him the vineyard.

01:11:36.700 --> 01:11:38.700
And so Nabal has him killed,

01:11:38.700 --> 01:11:42.700
which is an extremely wicked thing to do.

01:11:42.700 --> 01:11:45.700
And so the prophet comes to him and says,

01:11:45.700 --> 01:11:46.700
hey, guess what?

01:11:46.700 --> 01:11:48.700
You're going to be destroyed.

01:11:48.700 --> 01:11:50.700
And it's going to be pretty bad.

01:11:50.700 --> 01:11:53.700
Because he that dies of Ahab in the city is going to be eating of the dogs.

01:11:53.700 --> 01:11:56.700
He that dies of Ahab in the field is going to be eating of the crows.

01:11:56.700 --> 01:11:57.700
Nobody's going to bury you.

01:11:57.700 --> 01:11:58.700
It's just going to be over.

01:11:58.700 --> 01:12:00.600
You're going to be wiped out, Ahab.

01:12:01.500 --> 01:12:04.680
And look at his response in verse number 27, it says,

01:12:04.680 --> 01:12:07.800
And it came to pass when Ahab heard those words,

01:12:07.800 --> 01:12:11.560
that he rent his clothes and put sackcloth upon his face,

01:12:11.560 --> 01:12:15.800
and fasted and lay in sackcloth, and went softly.

01:12:15.900 --> 01:12:18.900
And the word of the Lord came to Elijah the chisperite, saying,

01:12:18.900 --> 01:12:22.300
Seest thou how Ahab humbled himself before me?

01:12:22.300 --> 01:12:24.740
Because he humbled himself before me.

01:12:24.740 --> 01:12:27.200
I will not bring the evil in his day,

01:12:27.200 --> 01:12:30.900
but in his son's day will I bring the evil upon his house."

01:12:30.900 --> 01:12:36.200
So, you know, the punishment is not 100% taken away.

01:12:36.200 --> 01:12:39.200
It's not like the evil is just gone, right?

01:12:39.200 --> 01:12:41.200
But guess what?

01:12:41.200 --> 01:12:43.800
Ahab doesn't have to put up with the evil in his day.

01:12:44.200 --> 01:12:51.900
Which is a lot, in my opinion, it's a lot better option than having it just all happen when you're still alive, right? Amen?

01:12:51.900 --> 01:12:59.200
I mean, this is God being very merciful towards Ahab after committing a pretty horrible sin.

01:12:59.200 --> 01:13:05.100
Like, you know, it's pretty up there, you know, just murdering somebody for their garden.

01:13:05.100 --> 01:13:08.300
Like, I want their lawn, you know.

01:13:08.300 --> 01:13:09.100
Dude.

01:13:09.200 --> 01:13:12.240
You know, you got to mow that thing. It's like, I don't know.

01:13:14.000 --> 01:13:20.480
So, I mean, this is something that is a pretty big deal, but yet God has mercy on him, right?

01:13:20.480 --> 01:13:24.240
But here's the thing. Ahab was very humble.

01:13:24.800 --> 01:13:29.800
Like, you know, putting on sackcloth and ashes, you know, this isn't really something we do anymore.

01:13:29.800 --> 01:13:33.800
But I'm pretty sure this isn't something they just did all the time, right?

01:13:33.800 --> 01:13:40.800
There probably wasn't just multitudes of time where Ahab had put on sackcloth and ashes in his life.

01:13:40.800 --> 01:13:42.800
It was probably the only time.

01:13:42.800 --> 01:13:46.800
You know, I don't remember any other time in the Bible where Ahab's putting on sackcloth and ashes.

01:13:46.800 --> 01:13:51.700
And so this is a, you know, he's being extremely humble before God, and God has...

01:13:51.800 --> 01:13:56.460
mercy on him even though he committed this this this horrible sin

01:13:57.220 --> 01:14:03.360
You know and that's not the only sin that you know I have committed. I mean in general a have was just a horrible king

01:14:04.080 --> 01:14:08.200
He was a bad king just all around you just every single story of him is just like

01:14:09.020 --> 01:14:15.580
Ahab did this wicked thing he had did this wicked thing and they have his wife made him do this wicked thing and it's like

01:14:16.300 --> 01:14:18.900
You know, Ahab got mercy.

01:14:18.900 --> 01:14:21.600
So you know, if Ahab can get mercy from God,

01:14:21.600 --> 01:14:23.940
don't you think we could get mercy from God?

01:14:23.940 --> 01:14:27.900
Who hopefully have not murdered somebody for their garden?

01:14:27.900 --> 01:14:32.620
I don't think anybody in here has murdered anybody for their garden.

01:14:32.620 --> 01:14:39.320
I would venture to say that nobody has murdered anybody at all in this room.

01:14:39.320 --> 01:14:41.020
And if I'm wrong about that...

01:14:42.100 --> 01:14:44.100
Don't anybody tell me, okay?

01:14:44.100 --> 01:14:46.100
Hahaha

01:14:46.100 --> 01:14:49.100
It's like every time I knock the door

01:14:49.100 --> 01:14:53.100
Like you know murderers, whoremongers, sorcerers, and idolaters

01:14:53.100 --> 01:14:56.100
You know, you've probably never done anything

01:14:56.100 --> 01:14:59.100
If you've murdered anybody don't tell me, okay?

01:14:59.100 --> 01:15:02.100
I don't know, I say that at the door all the time

01:15:02.100 --> 01:15:05.100
Anyways, so none of us have murdered anybody

01:15:05.100 --> 01:15:07.100
Right? And so

01:15:07.600 --> 01:15:10.800
I think we could get some mercy from God if we're just humble ourselves.

01:15:10.800 --> 01:15:15.500
You know, I don't know, maybe you could even get some sackcloth and ashes.

01:15:15.500 --> 01:15:19.000
If you've done something bad enough, you know,

01:15:19.000 --> 01:15:22.700
but don't put a past yourself, alright, you know, you gotta be humble.

01:15:22.700 --> 01:15:25.200
So humble, got sackcloth and ashes.

01:15:25.200 --> 01:15:28.700
Nobody does sackcloth and ashes like I do.

01:15:28.700 --> 01:15:32.200
Alright, second Chronicles 33.

01:15:32.200 --> 01:15:34.620
So.

01:15:36.000 --> 01:15:40.000
I'm just going to sum this last one up. We're kind of running out of time.

01:15:40.000 --> 01:15:49.000
So basically this is the story of Manasseh, who was, I would say, he was the worst king of Judah.

01:15:49.000 --> 01:15:52.000
He reigned the longest and he was the worst king.

01:15:52.000 --> 01:15:59.700
And he did all kinds of horrible things to the point of offering his sons as burnt offerings to false gods.

01:15:59.900 --> 01:16:02.400
Like that's pretty bad, right?

01:16:02.400 --> 01:16:04.100
And so God punishes him, right?

01:16:04.100 --> 01:16:07.400
God comes in and he has him taken away

01:16:07.400 --> 01:16:10.000
and he's in chains in another land, right?

01:16:10.000 --> 01:16:13.280
But he humbles himself before the Lord, very humble.

01:16:13.280 --> 01:16:15.480
He's like weeping and everything.

01:16:15.480 --> 01:16:17.820
And God has mercy on him

01:16:17.820 --> 01:16:21.920
and allows him to go back to Jerusalem to reign.

01:16:23.860 --> 01:16:26.920
Which, you know, after doing all the things,

01:16:27.200 --> 01:16:32.560
that you read about it on your own time in 2 Chronicles chapter 33.

01:16:32.560 --> 01:16:34.000
Just read the whole chapter.

01:16:34.000 --> 01:16:37.640
Read about all the things that Manasseh did.

01:16:37.640 --> 01:16:41.520
He was an extraordinarily wicked person.

01:16:41.520 --> 01:16:49.160
I mean, sacrificing his children to false gods, that wasn't the first thing he did.

01:16:49.160 --> 01:16:50.160
That was like...

01:16:50.300 --> 01:16:56.060
the creme de la creme, but he had done all kinds of wicked things leading up to that, right?

01:16:56.060 --> 01:17:02.300
And these are not like small, light things, you know, whatever. These are major deals. These are big deals.

01:17:02.300 --> 01:17:08.460
And yet, God has mercy on this individual. But why do He have mercy on him? It's because

01:17:09.420 --> 01:17:15.740
He learns humility. When He's taken into the jail cell, you know, and He's just sitting there in chains.

01:17:17.100 --> 01:17:19.700
you know, that'll make you humble apparently.

01:17:19.700 --> 01:17:21.300
Well, you know, it won't make everybody humble,

01:17:21.300 --> 01:17:24.000
but it made Manasseh humble, right?

01:17:24.000 --> 01:17:27.600
And so it brought him humility to where he's like,

01:17:27.600 --> 01:17:34.000
okay, the Lord is God, He is right, I was wrong,

01:17:34.000 --> 01:17:38.000
you know, and just accepted correction, right?

01:17:38.000 --> 01:17:40.600
He had humility to accept correction

01:17:40.600 --> 01:17:43.200
even after making these massive mistakes.

01:17:43.400 --> 01:17:47.400
So in our lives, even if you make a major mistake in your life,

01:17:47.400 --> 01:17:51.400
you know, don't get to this place where you're like, well,

01:17:51.400 --> 01:17:55.400
you know, it's all over. You know, I believe that

01:17:55.400 --> 01:17:59.400
if you're a saved person, you know, until

01:17:59.400 --> 01:18:03.400
the day that you die, God is going to have mercy available

01:18:03.400 --> 01:18:07.400
for you. Because it's like, you know, the day that God doesn't have mercy

01:18:07.400 --> 01:18:11.300
available for you, I believe God's just going to take you home.

01:18:11.600 --> 01:18:15.800
I don't think He's just going to leave you with no mercy available on this earth.

01:18:15.800 --> 01:18:20.100
I think He's just going to take you home early if that were to happen.

01:18:20.100 --> 01:18:23.100
And so we should never get to a point in our Christian lives where we're just like,

01:18:23.100 --> 01:18:28.800
well, you know, I'm ruined without remedy.

01:18:28.800 --> 01:18:34.000
You know, maybe some part of your life is destroyed without remedy, but guess what?

01:18:34.000 --> 01:18:36.400
There's always plan B.

01:18:36.400 --> 01:18:38.600
You know, God is the God of second chances.

01:18:38.800 --> 01:18:41.200
Okay, there's there's a plan B for your life

01:18:41.200 --> 01:18:46.880
And so if you make a major mistake in your life, or if you have made a mistake major mistake in your life in the past

01:18:47.420 --> 01:18:48.840
Well, you know what?

01:18:48.840 --> 01:18:50.840
Just humble yourself before God

01:18:51.200 --> 01:18:57.600
Ask for forgiveness admit that you are wrong confess your sin to God and he's gonna have mercy for you. I

01:18:58.900 --> 01:19:01.820
Believe that's a promise from God if you humble yourself

01:19:03.000 --> 01:19:05.800
If you admit that you're wrong to God,

01:19:05.800 --> 01:19:08.400
and just confess your sin to God and forsake it,

01:19:08.400 --> 01:19:10.920
He is going to have mercy on you.

01:19:10.920 --> 01:19:14.040
Why? Because He had mercy on Manasseh.

01:19:14.040 --> 01:19:16.760
And I don't think you're as bad as Manasseh.

01:19:16.760 --> 01:19:18.960
I don't think anybody here is as bad as Manasseh.

01:19:18.960 --> 01:19:21.320
But even if you were,

01:19:21.320 --> 01:19:22.480
even if you were,

01:19:22.480 --> 01:19:24.840
look, there's still mercy, right?

01:19:24.840 --> 01:19:26.680
There's still mercy.

01:19:27.000 --> 01:19:29.300
So, you know, we just need to humble ourselves.

01:19:29.300 --> 01:19:33.400
And when it comes to, you know, just humility in our lives,

01:19:33.400 --> 01:19:35.640
you know, this is a, this is, you know,

01:19:35.640 --> 01:19:36.740
kind of like Paul was saying earlier,

01:19:36.740 --> 01:19:38.640
it's like a Christian superpower.

01:19:38.640 --> 01:19:41.540
You know, humility is like a Christian superpower, you know.

01:19:41.540 --> 01:19:44.520
And I'm not saying I have that superpower, okay.

01:19:44.520 --> 01:19:48.780
You know, it's something I got to work on myself, you know.

01:19:48.780 --> 01:19:50.860
Humility is something that is,

01:19:50.860 --> 01:19:52.920
is something that doesn't come naturally.

01:19:53.300 --> 01:19:55.700
You know, it doesn't come naturally to me.

01:19:55.700 --> 01:19:59.780
You know, we have to work on it constantly, you know, and it's,

01:19:59.780 --> 01:20:04.580
you know, again, I think that's the reason why God repeats this kind of thing over and over and over again.

01:20:04.580 --> 01:20:06.820
You know, we had a lot of verses tonight.

01:20:07.000 --> 01:20:10.680
This is a big subject in the Bible that we all need to learn from.

01:20:10.680 --> 01:20:15.440
We all need to learn humility and be able to receive correction.

01:20:15.440 --> 01:20:16.920
Let's go ahead and bow our heads and have a word of prayer.

01:20:16.920 --> 01:20:18.320
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for this day, Lord.

01:20:18.320 --> 01:20:19.600
I thank you for everything you've done for us, Lord.

01:20:19.600 --> 01:20:24.280
We thank you for the Bible that can correct everything in our lives that we need to correct,

01:20:24.280 --> 01:20:25.280
Lord.

01:20:25.280 --> 01:20:28.560
And we pray that you would help us to be humble and to not have an attitude of pride that

01:20:28.560 --> 01:20:30.400
says we're right about everything and realize that...

01:20:31.100 --> 01:20:35.020
that there's things that we can be wrong about and that we can learn from and that we can correct.

01:20:35.020 --> 01:20:37.260
In the name of Jesus, amen.

01:20:40.100 --> 01:20:44.900
Alright, if you want to take your hand rolls, we're going to turn to page number 439.

01:20:49.300 --> 01:20:52.100
It's page number 439.

01:20:57.300 --> 01:21:00.540
Page number 439 counts your blessings.

01:21:04.200 --> 01:21:06.200
Sing it out on the first

01:21:13.200 --> 01:21:23.920
When upon life's willows you are tempest-tossed, Scourage-thinking all is lost,

01:21:23.920 --> 01:21:34.360
Count your many blessings one by one, And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

01:21:34.500 --> 01:21:39.500
Count your blessings, name them one by one.

01:21:39.500 --> 01:21:44.500
Count your blessings, see what God hath done.

01:21:44.500 --> 01:21:49.500
Count your blessings, name them one by one.

01:21:49.500 --> 01:21:55.500
Count your many blessings, see what God hath done.

01:21:55.500 --> 01:22:00.500
Are you ever burdened with a load of care?

01:22:00.500 --> 01:22:05.540
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?

01:22:05.540 --> 01:22:10.580
Count your many blessings every doubt will fly

01:22:10.580 --> 01:22:15.860
And you will be singing as the days go by

01:22:15.860 --> 01:22:20.820
Count your blessings name them one by one

01:22:20.820 --> 01:22:25.940
Count your blessings see what God hath done

01:22:25.940 --> 01:22:28.180
count your blessings

01:22:29.000 --> 01:22:38.760
them one by one. Count your many blessings, see what God hath done. When you look at others

01:22:38.760 --> 01:22:47.400
with their lands and gold, think that Christ has promised you his wealth untold. Count

01:22:47.400 --> 01:22:56.280
your many blessings, money cannot buy. You're rewarded heaven, nor your hope on high.

01:22:57.000 --> 01:23:02.040
Count your blessings, name them one by one.

01:23:02.040 --> 01:23:07.160
Count your blessings, see what God hath done.

01:23:07.160 --> 01:23:12.400
Count your blessings, name them one by one.

01:23:12.400 --> 01:23:17.640
Count your many blessings, see what God hath done.

01:23:17.640 --> 01:23:22.600
So amid the conflict, whether great or small,

01:23:23.000 --> 01:23:27.600
Do not be discouraged, God is over all.

01:23:27.600 --> 01:23:32.400
Count your many blessings, angels will attend.

01:23:32.400 --> 01:23:37.200
Help and comfort give you to your journeys end.

01:23:37.200 --> 01:23:41.800
Count your blessings, name them one by one.

01:23:41.800 --> 01:23:46.600
Count your blessings, see what God hath done.

01:23:46.600 --> 01:23:49.000
Count your blessings.

01:23:49.100 --> 01:23:57.100
Name them one by one count how many blessings see what God hath done

01:23:57.100 --> 01:24:01.100
Alright excellent singing everybody, Brother Ryan, would you please close the word of prayer?

01:24:01.100 --> 01:24:04.100
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you God for preaching at this church Lord

01:24:04.100 --> 01:24:10.100
and I just pray God that if we ever have any sort of pride creep up in our heart

01:24:10.100 --> 01:24:14.100
I pray God that you will help us deal with that and stay humble

01:24:15.100 --> 01:24:17.740
and pray God that you'll bless us as we go.

01:24:17.740 --> 01:24:18.940
In Jesus' name, Amen.
