It's great to have another opportunity to be able to preach. 15:18.480 --> 15:20.520 And I'd like to thank Pastor Stuckey for that opportunity. 15:20.920 --> 15:23.720 And the title of my sermon today is Hell and the Lake of Fire. 15:23.720 --> 15:24.960 Hell and the Lake of Fire. 15:24.960 --> 15:27.720 It's something that because we've saved believers, it's something that probably 15:27.720 --> 15:30.880 we don't really necessarily think about anymore because we've been pulled 15:30.880 --> 15:32.480 out of the fire we've been saved. 15:32.480 --> 15:35.320 And you're there in Jude, chapter one, verse 21, where the Bible says. 15:36.500 --> 15:41.460 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life, 15:41.460 --> 15:45.780 and of some having have compassion making a difference, and others save with fear, 15:45.780 --> 15:49.380 pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garments spotted by the flesh. 15:49.380 --> 15:53.300 So even though we're not we're not in danger and peril of going in the fire, 15:53.300 --> 15:57.540 we still have to be thinking about we have to be pulling people out of that fire and the doctrine 15:57.540 --> 16:02.420 of you know that I believe that a lot of people believe that hell is not actually a literal place. 16:03.100 --> 16:08.860 Annihilationism actually says that we cease to exist once we die, even as unbelievers. 16:08.860 --> 16:11.900 But according to the Bible, the Bible is really clear that hell is a literal place, 16:11.900 --> 16:15.500 it's a place of torment, it's a place of fire. And that's what I'm going to be showing today. 16:15.500 --> 16:20.140 So let's turn to Psalm 89 verse 46. I have three points today and I'd just like to 16:20.140 --> 16:25.900 to just talk about, again, an uncomfortable topic. Hell is something that none of us really wanted 16:25.900 --> 16:31.020 to think about, but a lot of us were persuaded to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ because of the fear of hell. 16:31.100 --> 16:35.460 The Bible says in Psalm 89 verse 46, 16:35.460 --> 16:38.220 how long Lord will thou hide thyself forever 16:38.220 --> 16:40.620 shall thy wrath burn like a fire? 16:40.620 --> 16:43.620 So God's wrath, we see here that it burns like fire. 16:43.620 --> 16:45.460 And the Bible says that those that believe not, 16:45.460 --> 16:48.020 says the wrath of God abideth on them. 16:48.020 --> 16:50.620 So God's wrath, God's fire is gonna abide on people 16:50.620 --> 16:52.500 that do not believe. 16:52.500 --> 16:55.700 Let's look at Mark 9 verse 42, Mark 9 verse 42. 16:59.200 --> 17:00.800 Mark 9 verse 42. 17:05.700 --> 17:12.700 You know, people that are going to offend, you know, we've seen the book of Jude, there's a lot of wicked people that offend children, a lot of reprobates that hurt little children. 17:12.700 --> 17:16.580 And we see here that there's going to be a very, very evil place where they're going to go. 17:17.000 --> 17:20.300 and God's going to show his wrath over those people. 17:20.300 --> 17:21.700 Mark 9 verse 42 says, 17:21.700 --> 17:23.540 And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones 17:23.540 --> 17:24.600 that believe in me, 17:24.600 --> 17:26.640 it is better for him that a millstone were hung 17:26.640 --> 17:28.900 around his neck and he were cast into the sea. 17:28.900 --> 17:32.700 So Jesus knows exactly why it's better for them to do this 17:32.700 --> 17:34.300 because of what's coming for them. 17:34.600 --> 17:41.000 Verse 43 says, and if thy hand offend thee, cut it off for it is better for thee to enter into life maimed 17:41.140 --> 17:45.720 Then have two hands to go into hell into the fire that never shall be quenched 17:45.800 --> 17:48.180 So saying hell is the place that's just never-ending 17:48.260 --> 17:53.140 There's a fire there that God keeps hot and it never will be quenched and it says it's even better 17:53.140 --> 18:00.180 It's so severe how is such a scary place that you'd be better off just cutting off your limbs and to compare that to how? 18:00.700 --> 18:02.600 difficult and how horrible how 18:02.600 --> 18:05.560 is going to be, it shows that you'd be willing to even do that. 18:05.560 --> 18:09.160 And it's something that Jesus is trying to show people the gravity of how 18:09.160 --> 18:12.280 how how it actually is and how scary of a place it is. 18:13.240 --> 18:15.400 And that's why the Bible says others save with fear. 18:15.400 --> 18:20.280 You know, we need to also, you know, we understand how severe and how the gravity of hell. 18:20.280 --> 18:23.960 So we need to save people with fear and actually show them some of these verses. 18:23.960 --> 18:24.440 It can help. 18:24.900 --> 18:26.620 Verse 44, the Bible says, 18:26.620 --> 18:28.380 where there were die if not, 18:28.380 --> 18:29.660 and the fire is not quenched. 18:29.660 --> 18:31.060 You know, it's like your body, 18:31.060 --> 18:32.820 your body, your eternal body 18:32.820 --> 18:34.700 that people have when they go to hell, 18:34.700 --> 18:35.740 that's never gonna die. 18:35.740 --> 18:36.860 That worm die if not. 18:36.860 --> 18:38.340 It's just gonna last forever. 18:38.340 --> 18:40.100 And then again, Jesus reiterates and says, 18:40.100 --> 18:41.780 the fire is not quenched. 18:41.780 --> 18:42.900 In verse 44. 18:42.900 --> 18:45.340 So showing that hell is actually a literal place. 18:45.340 --> 18:47.180 It's not just ceasing to exist. 18:48.900 --> 18:54.180 It's just something that we ought to really think about, even as saved believers, 18:54.180 --> 18:57.220 that we can actually use it as motivation to realize, hey, when we're going out there, 18:57.220 --> 19:01.460 we're making a difference. That 155 people that we've gotten saved with our church, 19:01.460 --> 19:04.180 we've actually pulled them out of the fire. We're making a difference. 19:05.140 --> 19:10.260 Let's look at verse 45. It says, and if thy foot offend thee, cut it off. It is better for thee 19:10.260 --> 19:15.860 to enter holt into life than having two feet to be cast into houses. Jesus is saying it's even better 19:15.860 --> 19:16.700 to like 19:16.800 --> 19:20.520 to have no limbs than to have to enter into hell. 19:20.520 --> 19:22.960 That's how scary of a place that is. 19:22.960 --> 19:25.000 Into the fire that shall never be quenched. 19:25.000 --> 19:26.720 And again it says, where there were not if not 19:26.720 --> 19:28.360 and where the fire is not quenched. 19:28.360 --> 19:30.400 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out. 19:30.400 --> 19:32.760 For it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God 19:32.760 --> 19:36.160 with one eye than having two eyes and be cast into fire. 19:36.160 --> 19:39.560 Where there were not if not and where fire is not quenched. 19:39.560 --> 19:41.000 We see Jesus showing the gravity 19:41.000 --> 19:42.500 of what hell is actually like. 19:42.800 --> 19:48.560 And we see here Jesus is telling people to even if they have to remove what's there to enter into life 19:48.880 --> 19:50.880 And what happens a lot of people are holding on to things 19:50.880 --> 19:54.080 A lot of people are holding on to their works that they've done a lot of people are holding on to 19:54.560 --> 19:59.140 Their things that that they have that's gonna actually hinder them from getting into heaven 19:59.700 --> 20:02.280 and it's just better to even put that aside. 20:02.280 --> 20:03.800 And obviously the gravity of hell is, 20:03.800 --> 20:05.920 it's even better to even enter into life 20:05.920 --> 20:08.400 and pluck your own eye than have to go into this place. 20:08.400 --> 20:10.960 So this doesn't correlate and doesn't drive 20:10.960 --> 20:13.000 with their annihilationism doctrine, right? 20:13.000 --> 20:14.620 Because it's very severe. 20:14.620 --> 20:16.780 Point number one is where is hell located? 20:16.780 --> 20:19.360 Title of my sermon is hell and the lake of fire. 20:19.360 --> 20:22.480 The Bible tells us a little bit of where hell is located. 20:22.480 --> 20:25.720 And let's look at Amos 9 verse two, Amos 9 verse two. 20:26.100 --> 20:27.900 Where's the place? 20:27.900 --> 20:31.460 Is it somewhere in the galaxy, in the solar system? 20:31.460 --> 20:33.940 Well, the Bible actually tells us that hell is located 20:33.940 --> 20:35.020 in the center of the earth. 20:35.020 --> 20:37.060 It's actually located here where we are. 20:38.000 --> 20:39.460 And I believe it's inside this planet 20:39.460 --> 20:41.600 and we have verses explaining this to prove it. 20:42.900 --> 20:45.300 The Bible says in Amos 9 verse 2, 20:45.300 --> 20:47.860 though they dig into hell, 20:47.860 --> 20:50.340 thence shall my hand take them, 20:50.340 --> 20:52.420 though they climb up to heaven, 20:52.420 --> 20:53.980 thence will I bring them down. 20:53.980 --> 20:57.300 So we see that hell is a place that once you dig into it, 20:57.300 --> 20:58.600 you can dig into hell. 20:58.600 --> 21:01.200 And obviously that's something just an impossible feat. 21:01.800 --> 21:05.480 And it's just showing here you can't hide from God because God says they're going to be 21:05.880 --> 21:09.240 tormented in the presence of the Lamb and of the angels. So you can't hide from God, 21:09.240 --> 21:12.120 even if you were to dig into hell to think I'm not going to, I'm not, 21:12.120 --> 21:14.440 I'm going to get away from God. You can't hide from God. 21:16.300 --> 21:20.780 And if you were to eventually dig far enough, you'd eventually reach hell, according to the 21:20.780 --> 21:26.860 Bible. If you were able to dig that far. And I looked up this question because I was a bit 21:26.860 --> 21:31.900 curious about it. And how close have we gotten to the center of the earth as humans with all the 21:31.900 --> 21:35.420 technology, with all the systems of digging that we have? 21:36.700 --> 21:41.500 You know, we've seen a lot of holes being dug for research purposes, 21:41.500 --> 21:45.420 and however, I found this online, it says, however, by digging, 21:45.420 --> 21:49.100 we have only scratched the surface of our earth, literally. 21:49.100 --> 21:53.980 If the earth were an egg, we haven't even succeeded in boring through the shell. 21:54.300 --> 21:58.940 actually the earth does not have a shell. It does have a shell. It's called the crust. So you can 21:58.940 --> 22:03.580 imagine we haven't even dug into the crust. There's an egg, the shell of the egg. We haven't even been 22:03.580 --> 22:08.940 able to penetrate the shell of the egg in comparison to how far we've even gotten to even getting close 22:08.940 --> 22:14.300 to the center of the earth. So we can't even get anywhere near that, right? Even with all that 22:14.300 --> 22:18.140 technology, it's just some... Imagine a loaf of bread and you have the center of the bread, 22:18.140 --> 22:18.940 the center of the earth. 22:19.400 --> 22:22.400 and you've just not even broken through the crust of the bread. 22:22.400 --> 22:25.160 So that's pretty much just in comparison to how far 22:25.160 --> 22:29.000 the hell is actually from what we can get close to. 22:29.000 --> 22:32.600 And how can we escape the fate of hell? 22:32.600 --> 22:35.240 We see here in John 6 verse 35, 22:35.240 --> 22:37.240 and that's why I chose that verse, 22:37.240 --> 22:39.640 how shall we escape greater salvation? 22:40.500 --> 22:43.220 If we reject the Lord Jesus Christ, 22:43.220 --> 22:45.580 if we reject his way of salvation, 22:45.580 --> 22:48.300 how can we escape that eternal hell? 22:49.800 --> 22:52.840 And this is telling us how we can escape that. 22:52.840 --> 22:54.660 And it says in John 6 and verse 35, 22:54.660 --> 22:56.620 Jesus refers to himself as bread. 22:56.620 --> 22:57.740 So it's in a positive sense. 22:57.740 --> 22:58.940 It says, and Jesus said unto them, 22:58.940 --> 23:00.340 I am the bread of life. 23:00.340 --> 23:02.340 He that cometh to me shall never hunger. 23:02.340 --> 23:05.020 And he that believeth on me shall never thirst. 23:05.020 --> 23:06.780 Saying that he's that bread. 23:06.780 --> 23:08.680 And we understand that we have believed 23:08.680 --> 23:09.960 on the Lord Jesus Christ. 23:09.960 --> 23:11.000 We know that we have. 23:11.100 --> 23:15.900 put our trust in. We know that we have eaten of that bread and it's just as easy as eating a loaf 23:15.900 --> 23:20.780 of bread. That's how easy salvation is likened to. You know, the same way it's likened to, you know, 23:20.780 --> 23:24.220 drinking a cup of water. You know, if you drink, you're never going to thirst again. 23:25.580 --> 23:31.980 So how is a place of fire? The Bible says it's a place where the fire shall not be quenched and 23:33.100 --> 23:36.140 You know, my wife likes to use this illustration. 23:36.140 --> 23:38.540 It worked a lot in the Philippines where, you know, 23:38.540 --> 23:40.700 you try to explain to people what hell looks like 23:40.700 --> 23:42.420 and they kind of don't really have an idea. 23:42.420 --> 23:45.860 But a good explanation is showing people pictures of lava, 23:45.860 --> 23:48.020 you know, because that's coming from the centre of the earth, 23:48.020 --> 23:48.860 you know, lava. 23:48.860 --> 23:51.160 And I don't even think it's coming from that deep below, 23:51.160 --> 23:52.780 but that actually is a good picture of like, 23:52.780 --> 23:54.820 what hell is like. 23:54.820 --> 23:56.540 And when people can kind of visualise it 23:56.540 --> 23:57.660 and kind of that lake of fire, 23:57.660 --> 23:59.420 you see like lava coming down. 23:59.900 --> 24:03.580 something that they can somewhat picture what it's gonna look like. 24:03.580 --> 24:06.620 And you know sometimes that that's enough for people to realize hey you know that's 24:06.620 --> 24:11.340 where we deserve to go. That's this type of place that you know those that don't believe 24:11.340 --> 24:15.420 are going to end up going. And it's a pretty scary thing because if you know if 24:15.420 --> 24:19.260 not believing on Jesus Christ that the consequence would just be ceasing to exist, 24:19.260 --> 24:21.100 I can understand why people would 24:21.300 --> 24:25.620 You know, not really think about it too much, but we see that God has made such a 24:26.260 --> 24:28.260 severe scary place 24:28.580 --> 24:33.220 Fearful place the Bible says you're saving them with fear something that it's meant to instill fear into you 24:33.620 --> 24:35.620 So you don't end up in that place 24:36.020 --> 24:38.900 revelation 20 and verse 11 revelation 20 and verse 11 24:40.500 --> 24:43.480 You know people who think works are necessary for their salvation 24:44.000 --> 24:48.640 You know that there's a lot of people that actually quote this verse that say I want to be judged by my works 24:48.800 --> 24:52.080 You know, I actually want to be that's a scary thought because if you get judged by your works 24:52.640 --> 24:54.640 You're going straight to hell 24:55.200 --> 24:56.800 Revelation 20 verse 11 25:02.300 --> 25:06.940 We're trying to save people from the great white throne judgment and we're trying to help people to you know 25:06.940 --> 25:10.540 Get into that that place where they're going to be standing for the judgment seat of christ 25:10.780 --> 25:12.140 That's a far greater judgment 25:12.140 --> 25:17.660 Even though you know some people's all their works are going to get burnt up the bible says but they shall be saved so as by fire 25:18.300 --> 25:21.740 We'll rather have people in that place even though they don't come into church 25:21.820 --> 25:26.060 Even though they never clean up their life, you know people like where are they? Why aren't they coming to your church? 25:26.800 --> 25:30.640 we're more than happy for them to just get saved so as by fire, you know, so they don't end up in 25:30.640 --> 25:35.440 this literal howl that the Bible describes. Revelation 20 verse 11, and I saw a great white 25:35.440 --> 25:41.280 throne and him that sat on it from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away and there was found 25:41.280 --> 25:42.600 no place for them. 25:43.000 --> 25:48.120 And I saw the dead small and great stand before God and the books were opened and another book was 25:48.120 --> 25:52.600 opened which is the book of life and the dead were judged out of the things which were written 25:52.600 --> 25:57.240 in the books according to their works. You know a lot of people just they love works you know you 25:57.240 --> 26:00.840 got to do works to get to heaven it's like you're going to get judged by your works and you know 26:00.840 --> 26:05.160 what you're going to come up short because James 2 10 we all know this verse for whosoever shall 26:05.160 --> 26:09.560 keep the whole law and yet offend in one point he's guilty of all you know being wanting to 26:09.560 --> 26:11.000 to get judged by your works is a really. 26:11.000 --> 26:12.760 scary thing according to the Bible, 26:12.760 --> 26:14.720 because you're gonna fall short. 26:14.720 --> 26:16.480 You know, we see Moses in the Bible, 26:16.480 --> 26:18.280 he smote that rock twice, 26:18.280 --> 26:20.780 and he wasn't able to enter into the promised land. 26:20.780 --> 26:21.960 Just a picture of, you know, 26:21.960 --> 26:26.960 one sin is enough for you to miss out on eternal life. 26:27.720 --> 26:29.080 And that's why the Bible says that Jesus said, 26:29.080 --> 26:30.640 "'I am the way, the truth, and the life. 26:30.640 --> 26:32.680 "'No man cometh unto the Father but by me.'" 26:32.680 --> 26:35.440 There's only one way that people can be saved, 26:35.440 --> 26:37.280 and Jesus made that abundantly clear. 26:37.700 --> 26:40.100 Romans 10 verse 2, Romans 10 verse 2. 26:41.060 --> 26:42.820 People only have, you know, two options. 26:42.820 --> 26:45.780 They either try get saved by their works, which is impossible 26:45.780 --> 26:48.420 because we've all fallen short of the glory of God, 26:48.420 --> 26:51.380 or you can go the way of the righteousness of Christ, 26:51.380 --> 26:52.740 which the Bible describes. 26:54.800 --> 26:59.200 Romans 10 verse 2 says, for I bear them record that they have a zeal of God but not according to knowledge 26:59.640 --> 27:05.360 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness and going about to establish their own righteousness. That's them doing their works 27:05.640 --> 27:07.280 That's what they want to get judged by it 27:07.280 --> 27:12.160 They're establishing their own righteousness have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God 27:12.160 --> 27:16.560 So you trying to be justified by your works. You're not submitting to the righteousness of God 27:17.000 --> 27:19.320 And what's going to happen? The Bible says they're going to get judged. 27:19.320 --> 27:21.480 They're going to be in front of the white throne judgment, 27:21.480 --> 27:23.800 and they're going to go to hell for their works. 27:24.760 --> 27:27.640 It says here in verse four, for Christ is the end of the law, 27:27.640 --> 27:30.520 for righteousness to everyone that believeth. 27:30.520 --> 27:34.680 It's the end of that. It's the end of trying to get to heaven by doing good works. 27:34.680 --> 27:36.200 Christ is the end of that. 27:36.200 --> 27:38.600 Whoever puts their faith on the Lord Jesus Christ, 27:38.600 --> 27:40.760 receives the righteousness of Christ, the Bible says. 27:40.760 --> 27:42.200 Revelation 20 verse 14. 27:42.900 --> 27:47.380 And it's not our righteousness, you know, our righteousness, we would deserve to go straight to hell. 27:47.540 --> 27:52.180 So, you know, what are we? We're just sinners saved by grace. We're people that we deserve to go to hell. 27:52.180 --> 27:53.700 We've broken God's commandments. 27:53.700 --> 27:57.380 Bible says even all liars shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fine brimstone, 27:57.620 --> 28:00.900 which is the second death and you know, I'm sure we've all told a lie before. 28:00.900 --> 28:07.460 So we're all deserving of hell and we're only able to get to heaven by, you know, not establishing our own righteousness, 28:07.540 --> 28:09.540 but submitting unto the righteousness of Christ. 28:11.200 --> 28:12.780 Revelation 20 verse 14 it says, 28:12.780 --> 28:14.900 and death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. 28:14.900 --> 28:17.580 This is the second death. 28:17.580 --> 28:19.020 So where's the lake of fire? 28:19.020 --> 28:22.460 Cause we see hell and death were cast into that lake. 28:22.460 --> 28:23.780 So we see that it's like, 28:23.780 --> 28:26.120 I've heard a picture like this and it makes a lot of sense. 28:26.120 --> 28:28.320 Say if you throw something in the trash can, 28:28.320 --> 28:30.140 that would be considered hell. 28:30.140 --> 28:32.140 But then when that trash can goes to the tip, 28:32.140 --> 28:33.300 that would be the lake of fire. 28:33.300 --> 28:36.100 So all the trash evidently goes into the tip. 28:36.400 --> 28:41.040 but it's just showing that you know you move from one location into the lake of fire so that's why 28:41.040 --> 28:45.440 hell is is a little different than the lake of fire but it's it's meaning the same thing you're 28:45.440 --> 28:50.000 pretty much you know it's still the same place of torment it's just that the location moves 28:51.840 --> 28:55.760 you know people believe that the sun could be the lake of fire and it's just to 28:55.760 --> 29:00.480 give you a bit of perspective of how how how many earths fit into the sun you know 29:00.480 --> 29:02.080 if hell is in the center of the earth 29:02.600 --> 29:07.000 Apparently, hell is a million three hundred thousand times bigger than the earth. 29:07.000 --> 29:12.400 So imagine in comparison, you know, if that would if hell would be thrown into the lake of fire, 29:12.400 --> 29:16.200 you could see that the sun would be, you know, a potential of that being the case. 29:18.600 --> 29:22.680 And you know, it kind of gives you a little bit of perspective of what is man if the sun is that 29:22.680 --> 29:26.840 great and God's put it in the sky that we can look upon, you kind of put it in perspective 29:26.840 --> 29:31.480 of what is man. Let's look at Psalm 8 verse 3, Psalm 8 verse 3. 29:35.100 --> 29:41.100 We all to marvel at the glory of God when you actually realize how small we are. 29:41.100 --> 29:46.100 And just realizing how little we think we've kind of arrived, 29:46.100 --> 29:51.100 but our intelligence can't even get to a small portion of even getting into the earth. 29:51.100 --> 29:56.000 Just realizing that God's made certain things to just be impossible to do. 29:57.700 --> 29:59.620 Psalm 8 verse 3 says, 29:59.620 --> 30:02.120 When I consider thy heavens the work of thy fingers, 30:02.120 --> 30:04.740 the moons and the stars which thou hast ordained, 30:04.740 --> 30:07.420 what is man that thou art mindful of him, 30:07.420 --> 30:09.820 and the son of man that thou visitest him? 30:09.820 --> 30:11.980 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, 30:11.980 --> 30:13.980 and hast crowned him with glory and honor. 30:13.980 --> 30:15.380 Thou hast made his team to have dominion 30:15.380 --> 30:16.900 over the works of thy hands, 30:16.900 --> 30:18.780 that hast put all things under his feet. 30:18.780 --> 30:21.220 Yea, all sheep and oxen, yea, 30:21.220 --> 30:23.580 the beasts of the field, the fowls of the air, 30:23.580 --> 30:24.420 the fish of the sea, 30:24.420 --> 30:25.700 and whatsoever passeth through the past. 30:25.700 --> 30:30.340 of the sea. Oh Lord our Lord how excellent is thy name in all the earth. 30:30.340 --> 30:33.860 There's the paths of the sea there's really interesting Pastor Stuckey had a 30:33.860 --> 30:37.100 sermon series where he explained that you know that's something that they 30:37.100 --> 30:40.380 only discovered later on that you can actually use certain pathing in the sea 30:40.380 --> 30:44.900 and you know scientists they thought they discovered something but the Bible 30:44.900 --> 30:47.500 already spoke about you know that there's paths in the sea. 30:48.100 --> 30:50.940 There's all these amazing things that are found in the Bible, 30:50.940 --> 30:53.700 whereas you should wash your hands in running water. 30:53.700 --> 30:57.220 And you see doctors, like just a few hundred years ago, 30:57.220 --> 31:00.180 dying because they were washing their hands in the same water. 31:00.180 --> 31:02.700 And then they're working on patients and patients were dying. 31:02.700 --> 31:05.020 So people that weren't going back to the Bible and realizing, 31:05.020 --> 31:11.260 hey, the Bible is telling us things that were far beyond science, so-called. 31:11.260 --> 31:14.820 Just all to make us marvel at the glory of God and how great God is. 31:14.900 --> 31:19.060 You know, so the sun, you know, the sun is something that we're not going to need in the future. 31:19.060 --> 31:22.180 So that's why I believe it could potentially be the lake of fire. I don't know. 31:22.180 --> 31:27.460 But Revelation 21 verse 23 says, Revelation 21 verse 23, you can turn there. 31:30.000 --> 31:34.560 Now this point is where is hell located? So I'm just talking a little bit about where hell is located 31:34.560 --> 31:40.240 and also you know where the lake of fire could potentially be located. Says and the city had no 31:40.240 --> 31:46.240 need of the sun neither of the moon to shine in it for the glory of God did lighten it and the lamb 31:46.240 --> 31:50.640 is the light thereof. So we see that there's no more need for a sun so there's a there's a 31:50.640 --> 31:53.360 possibility that that would be where the lake of fire is located. 31:54.800 --> 31:57.840 You know, once Hal is thrown at the end of the world, 31:57.840 --> 32:00.200 death and Hal are gonna be thrown into that lake of fire, 32:00.200 --> 32:01.600 then this is the second death, you know, 32:01.600 --> 32:03.540 that's the judgment and it's all over. 32:03.540 --> 32:05.240 So there's not gonna be a need for a son. 32:05.240 --> 32:09.840 So that's just something I think could be a possibility. 32:10.300 --> 32:14.680 Let's look at Luke 16 verse 26, Luke 16 verse 26, 32:14.680 --> 32:16.720 regardless of where it's located, 32:16.720 --> 32:18.360 there's something that's never gonna be golfed. 32:18.360 --> 32:21.000 There's a golf fixed that people that are there 32:21.000 --> 32:22.440 cannot pass to us, 32:22.440 --> 32:23.760 because obviously we're already, you know, 32:23.760 --> 32:25.560 the Bible says we're already made alive. 32:25.560 --> 32:27.400 The Bible says we've passed from death unto life. 32:27.400 --> 32:29.000 We're already, you know, 32:29.000 --> 32:31.520 we're already being seated with Christ in heavenly places. 32:31.520 --> 32:33.000 It's something that's already happened. 32:33.100 --> 32:35.500 you know something we're never going to see. 32:35.500 --> 32:37.820 You see here, I believe for me shall not see. 32:37.820 --> 32:40.300 The Bible says we're never going to see death. 32:40.300 --> 32:42.140 You know even though we might fall asleep, 32:42.140 --> 32:45.180 the Bible speaks about Christians that actually fall asleep in the Lord. 32:46.220 --> 32:48.060 We've been passed from death unto life. 32:49.000 --> 32:51.900 Luke 16 verse 26, and beside all this, 32:51.900 --> 32:54.540 between us and you there is a great goal fixed 32:54.540 --> 32:57.580 so that they which would pass from thence to you cannot, 32:57.580 --> 33:00.720 neither can they pass to us. 33:00.720 --> 33:01.920 They which come from thence. 33:01.920 --> 33:04.520 So we see here that once somebody goes to that place, 33:04.520 --> 33:05.480 it's an eternal place. 33:05.480 --> 33:07.620 And that's why we as someone in Baptist Church, 33:07.620 --> 33:10.020 we're so essential to Melbourne, 33:10.020 --> 33:11.600 to go and actually preach the gospel, 33:11.600 --> 33:15.100 whether people get mad because we're a little bit pushy, 33:15.100 --> 33:17.000 well the Bible says other safe from fear pulling them. 33:17.000 --> 33:18.000 out of the fire. 33:18.000 --> 33:20.000 You know, sometimes it's appropriate to be a little bit 33:20.000 --> 33:21.740 pushy with people to actually tell them, 33:21.740 --> 33:23.740 hey, this is important. 33:23.740 --> 33:25.780 And you know, who else is going to do it? 33:25.780 --> 33:26.620 I don't know. 33:26.620 --> 33:28.460 I don't know any other soul winning churches in Melbourne 33:28.460 --> 33:29.740 that actually are going out. 33:29.740 --> 33:31.540 I know of one or two, 33:31.540 --> 33:33.660 but they're preaching a repent of your sins gospel. 33:33.660 --> 33:36.660 So, and that's why it's a really wishy washy, you know, 33:36.660 --> 33:39.500 really terrible presentation from what I've experienced. 33:40.700 --> 33:45.740 We're pulling them out of the fire. Like I said, 155 salvations so far this year. Point number two 33:45.740 --> 33:50.460 is pulling them out of the fire. We're trying to pull them out of that potential place where when 33:50.460 --> 33:54.620 they go there, they're never going to return. And you know, we love our family. We love people in 33:54.620 --> 33:58.780 our lives that we see that they're not believing the right thing about salvation. You know, at the 33:58.780 --> 34:01.740 end of the day, the only thing that matters is what you believe. 34:02.300 --> 34:08.140 Because we believe that salvation is by grace through faith, that it's a free gift, that it's by the righteousness of Jesus Christ. 34:08.140 --> 34:11.820 What they believe is that it's by faith, but it's also by their works. 34:11.820 --> 34:14.940 Their belief is going to take them into hell. 34:14.940 --> 34:19.020 You know, their wrong belief, because it's still a belief, but their belief is going to take them into hell. 34:19.020 --> 34:20.700 And that's why we want them to repent. 34:20.700 --> 34:25.660 We want them to change their mind and realize that going to heaven is just by the righteousness of Jesus Christ. 34:25.660 --> 34:28.300 And it's not by our works. Our works are not involved. 34:31.400 --> 34:34.760 Let's look at Luke 16, if you're still there, Luke 16 verse 22. 34:37.160 --> 34:40.920 The Bible says, and it came to pass that the beggar died and was carried by the angels into 34:40.920 --> 34:45.720 Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. And in hell he lift up his eyes, 34:45.720 --> 34:49.640 being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off and Lazarus in his bosom. 34:49.640 --> 34:52.680 So see that as soon as his body dies, he's already in hell. 34:53.600 --> 34:56.320 His body gets buried and then in hell he lifts up his eyes. 34:56.320 --> 34:58.800 So we see as soon as to be absent from the body 34:58.800 --> 34:59.940 is to be present from the Lord, 34:59.940 --> 35:01.700 but for them to be absent from the body 35:01.700 --> 35:03.240 is to be already in hell. 35:05.900 --> 35:08.300 Verse 24, verse 24 it says, 35:08.300 --> 35:09.180 and he cried and said, 35:09.180 --> 35:11.700 Father Abraham have mercy on me and send Lazarus 35:11.700 --> 35:13.980 that he may dip the tip of his finger in water 35:13.980 --> 35:17.860 and cool my tongue for I am tormented in this flame. 35:17.860 --> 35:20.020 So we see that it's a place where the fire is not quenched, 35:20.020 --> 35:23.220 it's a literal flame and it's the thirst that he's feeling. 35:23.220 --> 35:25.300 And if you remember, you know, Jesus said 35:25.300 --> 35:27.800 that he that believeth in him shall never thirst. 35:28.000 --> 35:32.320 So once you put your trust on what Jesus Christ did for you on the cross and on the gospel, 35:32.320 --> 35:36.320 you're never going to go to hell because you're never going to thirst, Jesus said. 35:36.960 --> 35:41.680 And that's how we can escape. And you know, these people that neglect this great salvation 35:41.680 --> 35:46.240 that Jesus did, I'm going to go into it a little bit later, showing you know what Jesus had to go 35:46.240 --> 35:51.440 through, because to be absent from, you know, when the rich man, he ended up dying, his soul went 35:51.440 --> 35:52.320 straight to hell. 35:52.800 --> 35:56.240 and I'm going to show how Jesus also went to hell for us. 36:00.100 --> 36:01.820 Are there many that are going to be saved? 36:01.820 --> 36:04.380 We've seen the Bible, they came and asked Jesus this question, 36:04.380 --> 36:05.940 are there many that be saved? 36:05.940 --> 36:09.340 We have a lot of people come up to us with this, 36:09.340 --> 36:11.580 you guys think that only you guys are saved, 36:11.580 --> 36:15.180 you guys think that there's some special group of people 36:15.180 --> 36:16.820 that are going to be saved, look, 36:16.820 --> 36:18.300 it's few that are going to be saved. 36:18.500 --> 36:22.980 And it's, and I don't, I don't, they say you think no one from our church is safe. 36:22.980 --> 36:25.220 That's what, that's an argument that I've been brought across. 36:25.220 --> 36:28.820 And I said, look, people at your church can be saved if they believe the right thing. 36:28.820 --> 36:32.260 If they believe it's by faith and it's works as well, they're not going to be saved. 36:32.260 --> 36:35.460 They're, they're going to the lake of fire. They're going to that place. 36:36.180 --> 36:40.420 According to the Bible, John one five, verse 11, John one five, verse 11. 36:40.420 --> 36:43.060 So Jesus didn't say there's going to be many that are going to heaven. 36:43.060 --> 36:44.420 He actually said there's going to be few. 36:45.000 --> 36:48.760 And that's a scary thing because the God of this world has blinded the minds of them that believe not, 36:48.760 --> 36:51.640 lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ should shine onto them. 36:51.640 --> 36:57.720 So it's something that we go out into the chat stand, we see, we see everyone just, they don't care. 36:57.720 --> 37:01.160 You know, God is not in all their thoughts. They just don't care about the Lord. 37:01.160 --> 37:05.720 We're trying to approach them, we just get denied. Nobody cares. You see the God of this world 37:05.720 --> 37:09.640 has just like filled them, you know, the lust of the flesh, the pride of life, 37:09.640 --> 37:12.040 you know, these things, they're just filled with it. 37:12.500 --> 37:16.900 and they're just a lot of people just aren't even interested to hear and we're going there 37:16.900 --> 37:21.460 as ambassadors of Jesus Christ trying to reach people with the gospel, trying to tell them, 37:21.460 --> 37:24.580 hey there's a fire waiting you we're trying to pull them out of that fire. 37:26.020 --> 37:33.700 John 1 verse 1 John 5 verse 11 says, and this is the record that God has given unto us eternal 37:33.700 --> 37:35.700 and this life is in his son. 37:35.800 --> 37:37.560 He that hath the Son hath life, 37:37.560 --> 37:40.120 and he that hath not the Son hath not life. 37:40.120 --> 37:42.200 This is why they're gonna be part of that second death. 37:42.200 --> 37:43.200 They do not have life 37:43.200 --> 37:44.700 because they don't have the Son of God. 37:44.700 --> 37:45.980 Then it says in verse 13, 37:45.980 --> 37:47.220 these things have I written unto you 37:47.220 --> 37:49.300 that believe on the name of the Son of God, 37:49.300 --> 37:51.340 that you may know that you have eternal life 37:51.340 --> 37:53.500 and that you may believe on the name of the Son of God. 37:53.500 --> 37:54.940 But if you're the right belief, 37:54.940 --> 37:56.420 believing on the name of the Son of God 37:56.420 --> 37:58.020 and the right belief is what's gonna give you 37:58.020 --> 37:59.220 that eternal life. 37:59.220 --> 38:01.540 And the title of my sermon is Hell and the Lake of Fire. 38:01.540 --> 38:03.460 So why is hell so awful? 38:03.460 --> 38:06.100 Why is it such a horrible place for people to go to? 38:06.100 --> 38:08.060 It's because God's wrath is terrifying. 38:08.060 --> 38:10.300 And it's something that we should realize. 38:10.800 --> 38:15.440 that it's a place that we wouldn't want any one of our family to go, any of our loved ones to go, 38:15.440 --> 38:19.680 but even those that, you know, some having compassion, even being compassionate over the 38:19.680 --> 38:24.560 multitudes, overseeing a great amount of people at a shopping center or even like a, you know, 38:24.560 --> 38:29.520 a house complex where we go, being compassionate and having that, you know, kind of feeling of, 38:29.520 --> 38:33.600 hey, if I don't share with these people, they're destined to go to hell, you know, having that heart 38:33.600 --> 38:37.840 where you're actually thinking about it, you know, and the Bible speaks about those that go forth. 38:38.800 --> 38:43.120 Weeping, you know, bearing precious seeds shall doubtless come again rejoicing. 38:43.120 --> 38:45.240 It should be something that actually gets you emotional. 38:45.440 --> 38:48.760 We actually thinking about those that are going to be going to hell without Christ. 38:49.400 --> 38:56.280 Revelation 20 verse 10 Revelation 20 verse 10. So these things are you know ought to also you know impact our lives where we actually 38:56.920 --> 39:01.700 You know trying to live right with God trying to have works as well added to our faith 39:01.700 --> 39:05.380 So we can actually be profitable unto men like the Bible says in James chapter 2 39:05.380 --> 39:10.780 We're actually thinking about hey if I'm right with God if I'm reading my Bible if I'm constantly going out there 39:10.780 --> 39:13.320 So winning, you know people are going to be saved from hell 39:13.320 --> 39:17.260 I'm gonna be pulling people out of the fire and I need to actually live right because it's gonna 39:17.400 --> 39:18.600 impact other people. 39:18.600 --> 39:19.420 And that's why it says, you know, 39:19.420 --> 39:21.500 what does it profit if a man have faith, 39:21.500 --> 39:22.820 but it have no works? 39:22.820 --> 39:25.660 You know, your lack of works, your lack of soul winning 39:25.660 --> 39:27.460 is gonna impact people's eternity. 39:29.000 --> 39:31.240 You know, people say, you know, we're not watchmen. 39:31.240 --> 39:34.080 I was watching a video recently saying we're not watchmen. 39:34.080 --> 39:35.320 It's not our responsibility. 39:35.320 --> 39:38.160 If people go to hell, it's just because they're sinners. 39:38.160 --> 39:39.680 No, well, the Bible says that, you know, 39:39.680 --> 39:41.640 we have someone like Paul saying, you know, 39:41.640 --> 39:43.300 I'm free from the blood of all men. 39:43.300 --> 39:46.280 So like we have people that knew, hey, I preached. 39:46.280 --> 39:48.000 I shall not to declare unto you. 39:48.000 --> 39:50.300 You know, I actually did my part. 39:50.300 --> 39:52.120 There's a lot of people that think it's, you know, 39:52.120 --> 39:54.600 if people go to hell, the Bible says. 39:55.200 --> 39:56.960 How shall they hear without a preacher? 39:56.960 --> 40:01.120 You know, it's something that it is our responsibility as believers 40:01.120 --> 40:02.720 to go out there and preach the gospel. 40:03.440 --> 40:07.280 And it says if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost. 40:07.280 --> 40:12.000 So it is our responsibility to be going and preaching the gospel and adding works to our faith. 40:12.300 --> 40:13.780 Revelation 20 verse 10 it says, 40:13.780 --> 40:17.180 and the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone 40:17.180 --> 40:21.900 where the beast and the false prophet are and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever. 40:21.900 --> 40:24.780 If somebody goes to this place, it's an eternal place. 40:24.780 --> 40:27.660 Hell is a scary place and it's never going to end. 40:28.100 --> 40:31.700 And it's something that I don't know how people can play with this situation. 40:31.940 --> 40:34.340 This should be something that, you know, people should be begging. 40:34.700 --> 40:35.900 How can I get to heaven? 40:35.900 --> 40:37.540 How can I have that assurance? 40:37.540 --> 40:39.140 How can I be 100 percent sure? 40:39.140 --> 40:41.860 You know, they just they're flirting with with eternity. 40:41.860 --> 40:46.180 Yeah, they're something so severe where they could be tormented 40:46.180 --> 40:47.740 day and night forever and ever. 40:47.740 --> 40:50.180 And it's something that we like to use this illustration out. 40:50.180 --> 40:53.460 So winning and I ask people, is it going to be over in 100 billion years? 40:53.460 --> 40:55.140 And they say no, because it's eternal. 40:55.140 --> 40:55.940 It's never ends. 40:56.100 --> 41:01.440 You know, and it's you can't even fathom a hundred billion years, but you have to think that it's forever and ever 41:01.440 --> 41:06.100 How is an eternal place and you know, we can't fathom it because we live 70 80 years 41:06.100 --> 41:10.900 You know our life is short Bible likens it to a vapor Bible likens it to as you know 41:10.900 --> 41:14.180 Jew in the morning and we can't fathom eternity 41:14.780 --> 41:19.240 But the Bible is trying to say hey people that are going to hell they're gonna be tormenting day and night forever and ever 41:19.240 --> 41:21.240 So that we can have that urgency 41:21.400 --> 41:24.840 And people that actually are going to hopefully listen to this sermon are going to realize, 41:24.840 --> 41:29.960 hey, this is something serious and I need to get, you know, I need to put my faith in the right place 41:29.960 --> 41:33.000 and have the right faith so then I can have that eternal life as well. 41:33.600 --> 41:37.560 John 3 verse 36, John 3 verse 36, it's a well-known verse, 41:37.560 --> 41:38.400 you don't have to turn it, but it says, 41:38.400 --> 41:41.400 he that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life. 41:41.400 --> 41:42.240 It's present tense. 41:42.240 --> 41:44.780 Once you put your trust in Jesus Christ, you have it. 41:44.780 --> 41:46.600 But it says, and he that believeth not the Son 41:46.600 --> 41:48.220 shall not see life, 41:48.220 --> 41:50.880 meaning you have that second death awaiting you, 41:50.880 --> 41:52.680 but the wrath of God abideth on him. 41:52.680 --> 41:54.560 So God's wrath is gonna abide on people 41:54.560 --> 41:56.640 that reject Jesus Christ. 41:56.640 --> 41:58.120 And you know, you can reject Jesus Christ 41:58.120 --> 42:00.720 just by simply not believing on him 100%. 42:00.720 --> 42:01.600 That's how you reject him. 42:01.600 --> 42:07.400 To abide, when it says the wrath of God abideth, it means it's just lasting forever. 42:07.400 --> 42:10.240 That's hell and the lake of fire is an eternal place. 42:10.240 --> 42:14.640 Death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. 42:14.640 --> 42:18.000 The Bible says that hell wasn't prepared, wasn't made for us. 42:18.000 --> 42:22.880 It was made for someone else, but then obviously people are getting deceived by the devil. 42:22.880 --> 42:25.080 Let's look at Matthew 25 verse 41. 42:25.080 --> 42:27.080 Matthew 25 verse 41. 42:36.100 --> 42:38.260 There's going to be some scary words where people are going to 42:38.740 --> 42:43.700 You know, I looked recently at a, you know, at a church service where people were so excited 42:43.700 --> 42:48.660 It was a Pentecostal church service in in Romania and you just see everyone just so excited 42:48.660 --> 42:51.540 They just can't wait to stand before God with their works 42:51.540 --> 42:55.620 They just can't wait to, you know, have that have Jesus say to them, you know, well done 42:55.620 --> 42:58.980 My good and faithful servant they think that's because of that's for salvation 42:58.980 --> 43:02.340 They think that they're going to be standing before God and they're going to be putting their works 43:02.340 --> 43:04.020 And then hopefully, you know, God's going to be 43:04.100 --> 43:07.360 you know, gracious enough to let them into heaven. 43:07.360 --> 43:08.660 And you see their zeal, 43:08.660 --> 43:10.540 but they don't have a zeal according to knowledge. 43:10.540 --> 43:12.520 You know, they're so zealous, they're there, 43:12.520 --> 43:13.800 they're sacrificing their time, 43:13.800 --> 43:15.260 and they can't wait to stand before God, 43:15.260 --> 43:16.840 but guess what God's gonna say to them? 43:16.840 --> 43:17.680 Depart from me. 43:17.680 --> 43:19.500 And that's gonna be something that they're gonna be in shock 43:19.500 --> 43:20.540 when they hear it, 43:20.540 --> 43:21.760 because they're not putting their trust 43:21.760 --> 43:22.600 on the Lord Jesus Christ. 43:22.600 --> 43:25.000 And the Bible is clear that it's just by faith 43:25.000 --> 43:25.840 that gets us into heaven. 43:25.840 --> 43:27.820 Matthew 25 verse 41, it says, 43:27.820 --> 43:29.820 Then shall he say unto them, 43:30.100 --> 43:36.340 on the left hand depart from me ye cursed into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels 43:36.420 --> 43:40.940 You know people on the left are the people that you know didn't when when we were when? 43:41.460 --> 43:46.020 The disciples of Jesus Christ were hungry they gave him no food when they were in prison 43:46.020 --> 43:53.900 They didn't go visit them and people think I'm visiting the Mormon the Mormon missionary. I'm visiting the Pentecostal 43:54.740 --> 43:58.020 Widow or the Pentecostal person that's you know this I 43:58.100 --> 43:59.700 of Jesus Christ, they're not saved. 43:59.800 --> 44:05.640 You doing all these works and acts towards people that are not even the disciples of Jesus Christ 44:05.640 --> 44:10.500 It's not counted for what you're doing. You're just you're doing it to people that the Bible says let them be accursed 44:10.700 --> 44:15.420 You're doing all these good things, but it's funny enough that all these people that love pointing to these verses 44:15.420 --> 44:19.020 They're not doing us any good, you know, they're not thinking hey, how can I bless? 44:19.540 --> 44:23.760 Sowing Baptist Church Melbourne actually they're actually thinking how can I throw shade on it? 44:23.760 --> 44:27.800 How can I hurt sowing Baptist Church? Well, that's funny because we're the disciples of Jesus 44:27.800 --> 44:30.440 Jesus Christ, we're the people that actually serve in God. 44:30.440 --> 44:32.960 We're going out in the community Saturdays, Sundays, 44:32.960 --> 44:34.440 preaching Jesus Christ. 44:34.440 --> 44:37.280 And I don't see you doing much good to us. 44:37.280 --> 44:38.600 I was sick and you visited me. 44:38.600 --> 44:41.600 I don't see them actually, I see them having a big frown 44:41.600 --> 44:43.800 on their head when they see us and bump into us. 44:43.800 --> 44:45.120 They don't even wanna look at us. 44:45.120 --> 44:46.200 So where's the love? 44:46.300 --> 44:49.340 But of course we have a different faith. 44:49.340 --> 44:51.500 And you're doing all this good to the Mormon missionary, 44:51.500 --> 44:54.940 to the Jehovah's Witness missionary, 44:54.940 --> 44:56.380 to the Catholic priest. 44:56.380 --> 44:57.020 You're doing good. 44:57.020 --> 44:57.980 I'm going to do some good 44:57.980 --> 44:59.420 because I'm doing it unto Jesus Christ. 44:59.420 --> 45:01.180 You're not doing it unto Jesus Christ. 45:01.600 --> 45:03.760 Because that's not that's not included there. 45:03.760 --> 45:06.640 So that's why it says depart from me to the left hand, because you know what? 45:07.200 --> 45:09.200 It characterizes saved people. 45:09.360 --> 45:12.880 A saved person does want to do good to the to the household of faith to the saved. 45:13.040 --> 45:15.760 You know, we care about other soul winners. We care about people. 45:15.760 --> 45:18.880 We're not we're not sitting there trying to encourage the the the Mormons. 45:18.880 --> 45:20.960 We're not trying to encourage the Catholics. 45:21.280 --> 45:26.320 So if he's going to say to the people on the left hand, these people that weren't good towards the children of God. 45:26.400 --> 45:29.540 He's going to say to them, depart from me, you're cursed into everlasting. 45:29.600 --> 45:34.240 fire prepared for the devil and his angels. So hell wasn't prepared for us, it was prepared for the 45:34.240 --> 45:39.360 devil and his angels but you know what people are gonna end up going there. Daniel 12 verse 2, 45:39.360 --> 45:44.960 Daniel 12 verse 2, the Bible also likens it to weeping, there shall be weeping, gnashing of teeth, 45:44.960 --> 45:53.000 screams, terror. It's a place of darkness the Bible says, it's a place where you know we don't 45:53.000 --> 45:55.320 want anyone to go. I don't want anyone to go to that place. 45:56.600 --> 46:01.080 And we see the rich man, he's crying there in hell and he wants a bit of mercy and he doesn't get it. 46:03.160 --> 46:05.400 Daniel 12 verse 2, Daniel 12 verse 2. 46:07.400 --> 46:14.920 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake some to everlasting life and some to shame and everlasting contempt 46:15.240 --> 46:18.280 That's going to be what awaits a lot of people two categories of people 46:18.360 --> 46:23.960 They're going to be an everlasting life or shame and everlasting contempt something that's going to continue going on 46:23.960 --> 46:27.560 We see the fire shall not be quenched. They're going to be tormented day and night forever and ever 46:28.840 --> 46:32.540 It's eternal death. It's a terrible place a second death the bible describes it as 46:33.400 --> 46:40.040 and you know hell is full of torment and then on the flip side we have heaven where it's no crying, 46:40.040 --> 46:44.440 no sorrow and you know hell should be a place where people are dreading to go. 46:45.160 --> 46:49.000 What about people that go to heaven? You know the Bible tells us that we're going to be like the 46:49.000 --> 46:51.000 angels we're not going to be given in marriage or married. 46:51.400 --> 46:55.320 when we get to heaven, but there's going to be other things that accompany us. 46:55.320 --> 46:57.640 And you know, I found a couple of things in the Bible, 46:57.640 --> 46:59.880 and we see that there's going to be things that bring us joy. 46:59.880 --> 47:01.480 You know, when we have like a church fellowship, 47:01.480 --> 47:03.960 there's kind of a really joyful spirit about you. 47:03.960 --> 47:06.680 You know, you see, there's people are talking, people are enjoying. 47:06.680 --> 47:09.320 That's something that that the Bible speaks about, 47:09.320 --> 47:12.440 how we're going to sit in the kingdom of heaven with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. 47:12.440 --> 47:13.720 We're going to sit at the table with them. 47:14.800 --> 47:19.600 And we see that in the Bible, those people that thought they were going to be sitting with these people, they're not going to sit. 47:19.600 --> 47:24.240 And then there's people that are going to come from the east and west and they're going to be able to sit with these people. 47:24.240 --> 47:28.800 And that's something that characterizes heaven. Again, no more pain at all. 47:29.300 --> 47:31.460 There's going to be fellowship, eating together. 47:31.460 --> 47:33.220 We're going to be eating the Lord's Supper anew 47:33.220 --> 47:35.700 in the kingdom of God and the marriage supper of the Lamb. 47:35.700 --> 47:37.020 So we're going to experience things, 47:37.020 --> 47:38.700 even though marriage is going to be part of it, 47:38.700 --> 47:40.640 it's only something that's now on this earth. 47:40.640 --> 47:43.000 In heaven, it's going to be something where we're going to, 47:43.000 --> 47:44.900 when we see him, we're going to be as he is. 47:47.000 --> 47:49.000 And what about people that are going to hell? 47:49.000 --> 47:51.480 They're going to be experiencing that lack of all of these things, 47:51.480 --> 47:55.240 lack of daily necessities of life. 47:55.240 --> 47:59.040 You know, like that's some people experience some pretty traumatic things on this earth. 47:59.040 --> 48:02.720 And they we go at the door and they're like, I feel like I'm in hell, you know, and I. 48:03.300 --> 48:08.340 You'd want to tell them you have no idea what hell is like. If you think that this is hell, 48:08.340 --> 48:13.140 this is the like side of heaven that you're going to only experience on this earth because 48:13.140 --> 48:16.800 as hard as it can be, it's like there's still some joys to be had on earth. 48:17.300 --> 48:20.100 But yeah, hell is a place that none of us want to go to. 48:20.100 --> 48:27.300 And I'm glad that people, you know, I don't know how many of you have have decided to believe on Jesus Christ because of that, because of the warnings about hell. 48:27.300 --> 48:29.980 But I know that I did. I was afraid to go to hell. 48:30.260 --> 48:39.820 And, you know, I made sure that, you know, God brought to me a soul winner and we're the soul winners that are trying to speak into our family's lives, trying to speak into people that we know lives. 48:39.820 --> 48:41.340 And you know what? They just keep rejecting it. 48:41.340 --> 48:45.260 But when I heard the soul winner come up to me, approach me, I was afraid. 48:45.300 --> 48:49.460 of going to hell. I wasn't 100% sure I'm going to heaven, but when I heard it, you know, I believed 48:49.460 --> 48:54.740 on the Lord Jesus Christ. I changed my mind about what it takes to get to heaven. You know, people 48:54.740 --> 49:00.020 ought to fear hell, and that's why the title of my sermon is Hell in the Lake of Fire. Let's look at 49:00.020 --> 49:02.260 Romans 4 verse 5. Romans 4 verse 5. 49:12.200 --> 49:15.880 Salvation, it's clear in the Bible that it's Jesus plus nothing. 49:15.880 --> 49:18.280 Jesus plus none of your works. 49:18.280 --> 49:21.880 You can't be thinking that your works have anything to do with your salvation. 49:21.880 --> 49:24.520 Otherwise, you're not trusting on what Jesus did. 49:24.520 --> 49:26.600 You know, false prophets, what are they preaching? 49:26.600 --> 49:27.960 They're preaching that Jesus isn't enough. 49:27.960 --> 49:29.320 That's pretty much what they're saying. 49:29.320 --> 49:31.720 They're kind of giving lip service to Jesus. 49:31.720 --> 49:34.040 Jesus is great, you know, we're singing about him. 49:34.040 --> 49:36.280 But what they're preaching is that Jesus isn't enough. 49:36.800 --> 49:38.800 They're going to be preaching that it's not by faith alone. 49:38.800 --> 49:40.080 They attack faith alone. 49:40.080 --> 49:41.120 They're going to preach against it. 49:41.120 --> 49:41.920 They're going to mock it. 49:41.920 --> 49:43.520 They're going to ridicule it. 49:43.520 --> 49:46.880 You know, they're going to falsely accuse those that believe it, saying that, you know, 49:46.880 --> 49:48.400 we want to just live however we want. 49:48.400 --> 49:50.800 We just want to, you know, do whatever. 49:50.800 --> 49:52.640 That's why we kind of found this out. 49:52.640 --> 49:56.240 It's like, no, we found this out because the Bible clearly says it in Romans 4, 5, 49:56.240 --> 49:59.280 says, but to him that worketh not, you're not working. 49:59.800 --> 50:05.320 but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness." Remember 50:05.320 --> 50:09.560 you're submitting yourselves to the righteousness of Christ. He was the one that was righteous. The 50:09.560 --> 50:13.480 Bible says he was tempted in all things like us but yet without sin. He was perfect. 50:14.600 --> 50:18.280 And we're putting our trust on him and the Bible says that we receive the imputed righteousness 50:18.280 --> 50:22.760 of Jesus Christ. Matthew 7 verse 22, Matthew 7 verse 22. So we see that 50:23.200 --> 50:26.040 Jesus created hell, he doesn't want us to go to hell. 50:26.040 --> 50:28.160 Came down to this earth, he knows what is man. 50:28.160 --> 50:30.200 The Bible says, it tells us clearly 50:30.200 --> 50:33.960 that Jesus Christ formed us, Jesus Christ made us. 50:33.960 --> 50:35.440 The Bible says about Jesus Christ 50:35.440 --> 50:37.440 that all things were made by him 50:37.440 --> 50:39.720 and without him there was nothing made that was made. 50:39.720 --> 50:41.360 So Jesus knows what hell is. 50:42.100 --> 50:50.900 He created it and He created also Heaven, I mean He created us as human beings and then He came and 50:50.900 --> 50:56.020 took out our likeness and then ended up coming down to this earth being tempted, being ridiculed 50:56.020 --> 51:00.740 by His own creation and then you think about what is man, Jesus Christ did that for us so that we 51:00.740 --> 51:02.660 could escape that eternal hell. 51:03.000 --> 51:06.360 and people still reject, he's so great a salvation. 51:06.360 --> 51:08.760 Like the Bible says, you know, how shall we escape 51:08.760 --> 51:11.200 if we reject so great a salvation? 51:13.360 --> 51:15.000 If you believe you have eternal life, 51:15.000 --> 51:18.160 if you believe that it's just by Jesus, he is enough, 51:18.160 --> 51:20.360 then that's how you can receive eternal life. 51:20.360 --> 51:22.960 Matthew 7 verse 22, there's gonna be a lot of people 51:22.960 --> 51:24.840 that are gonna think it's by turning away from their sins 51:24.840 --> 51:26.200 that gets them into heaven. 51:26.300 --> 51:30.700 It says, many will say to me that they remember few are going to be saved, but many are going 51:30.700 --> 51:35.180 to say to me that they Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name and in thy name 51:35.180 --> 51:38.820 have cast out devils and thy name have done many wonderful works. 51:38.820 --> 51:43.340 And just before I continue, you know, Jesus did say, you know, in my father's house, I 51:43.340 --> 51:44.580 go to prepare a place for you. 51:44.580 --> 51:46.100 He's preparing heaven for us. 51:46.100 --> 51:49.020 You know, Jesus Christ is preparing what's awaiting for us in heaven. 51:50.300 --> 51:52.340 It says, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name, 51:52.340 --> 51:53.740 and in thy name have cast out devils, 51:53.740 --> 51:55.980 and in thy name have done many wonderful works, 51:55.980 --> 51:57.460 and then I will profess unto them, 51:57.460 --> 51:58.860 I never knew you'd depart from me. 51:58.860 --> 52:01.500 Again, it's just gonna say, go away, depart from me. 52:01.600 --> 52:09.600 All those people that now, you know, they have all that like they think it's and really realistically they are seeking a lot of glory from man. 52:09.600 --> 52:14.100 You see a lot of people that get up to sing a song with something that everyone has to film them. 52:14.100 --> 52:17.600 They just can't wait to put it online so then everyone can see it. 52:17.600 --> 52:20.600 They just there's a lot of vainglory going on there too. 52:20.600 --> 52:25.600 And they're going to think that they're going to be able to stand before God one day and God's going to say, well, well done. 52:26.200 --> 52:28.080 He's going to say to them, depart from me. 52:28.080 --> 52:30.080 That wonderful work that they were trusting 52:30.080 --> 52:32.600 isn't sufficient to get them into heaven. 52:32.600 --> 52:35.000 You know, Jesus is going to say to them, depart from me. 52:35.000 --> 52:37.160 And he's going to say that to many people I never knew. 52:37.160 --> 52:39.640 So depart means you're pretty much going to hell. 52:39.640 --> 52:41.400 Depart from me, it's like, you're not making it 52:41.400 --> 52:44.320 into that good place, go away from me. 52:44.320 --> 52:45.560 And these people said one thing, 52:45.560 --> 52:48.160 it says that they said multiple things that they were doing, 52:48.160 --> 52:50.600 but it says that they did many wonderful works. 52:50.800 --> 52:56.000 So if you have any thought that, hey, my works is getting me into heaven and I've done things, 52:56.000 --> 53:00.000 that I'm going to show Jesus Christ when I meet him, that that's somehow going to get me into 53:00.000 --> 53:03.920 heaven, you're not going to make it. He's going to say to you, depart from me. Other versions say 53:03.920 --> 53:08.000 miracles. Haven't we done many miracles? But the King James clearly shows us it's, haven't we done 53:08.000 --> 53:13.440 many wonderful works? Proving that Jesus is going to hear this from a lot of people. 53:14.100 --> 53:19.060 They're going to say to him, didn't we do works? We did wonderful works. We did multitude works. 53:19.060 --> 53:24.420 We blessed the Mormon missionary. We blessed the Catholic, you know, the Catholic sick person. 53:24.420 --> 53:28.500 We went to visit him. You know, isn't that you? Jesus like, I don't have anything to do that with 53:28.500 --> 53:29.400 those people. 53:29.600 --> 53:32.680 You know, it's what about what about, you know, my disciples? 53:32.680 --> 53:35.280 What about those that actually, you know, have believed on me, 53:35.360 --> 53:37.120 that I've become children of God by faith? 53:37.120 --> 53:39.440 We're all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 53:39.760 --> 53:43.160 The Bible says Ephesians four verse three, Ephesians four verse three. 53:46.200 --> 53:52.200 You know, Jesus doesn't want us to go to hell, and that's why I believe Jesus had to go to hell in our place in the Bible. 53:52.200 --> 53:59.200 It is showing that, and I'm going to teach that a little bit in my last point. Ephesians 4 verse 3. 53:59.200 --> 54:03.000 The Bible says endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 54:03.000 --> 54:08.040 There is one body and one spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling, 54:08.040 --> 54:13.640 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all 54:13.640 --> 54:18.360 and in you all. But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of 54:18.360 --> 54:24.440 Christ. Wherefore he saith, when he ascended up on high, he led captivity and gave gifts unto men." 54:24.440 --> 54:30.440 And now be mindful of verse 9. Now that he ascended was it was 54:31.200 --> 54:37.520 is what is it, but that he also descended first in the lower parts of the earth. 54:37.520 --> 54:41.440 So the Bible is clearly showing here before he was risen up into heaven, 54:41.440 --> 54:45.680 the Bible said first he descended into the lower parts of the earth. Was that the crust? 54:45.680 --> 54:50.000 Was that just the surface? Was that where people are buried? That's like pretty much six feet 54:50.000 --> 54:53.680 under or was that in the lower parts of the earth, which is where Hal is. 54:55.400 --> 55:00.760 says before Jesus ascended, he also descended in the lower parts of the earth. So the Bible, 55:00.760 --> 55:05.320 you know, I believe proves that Jesus went to hell. And point number three, Jesus went to hell. 55:05.880 --> 55:10.520 Verse 10, if you're still there in Ephesians 4, it says, He that descended is the same also that 55:10.520 --> 55:12.200 ascended. 55:12.400 --> 55:15.680 far above all heavens that he might feel all things. 55:15.680 --> 55:18.720 So again, it's speaking about him descending. 55:18.720 --> 55:20.960 Same way as the rich man that was buried, 55:20.960 --> 55:22.200 his body was buried, 55:22.200 --> 55:25.320 but that his soul lift up his eyes in hell. 55:25.320 --> 55:27.080 The Bible is showing us in Acts two, 55:27.080 --> 55:28.720 turns to Acts two verse 29, 55:28.720 --> 55:31.080 shows us that yes, Jesus was buried. 55:31.080 --> 55:34.520 You know, he was buried in the tomb, 55:34.520 --> 55:36.740 but his soul actually went somewhere. 55:36.740 --> 55:38.120 And that's why I believe his soul 55:38.120 --> 55:39.700 went into the lower parts of the earth. 55:47.200 --> 55:53.680 Acts 2 verse 29, men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, 55:53.680 --> 55:58.800 that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. Therefore, 55:58.800 --> 56:04.640 being a prophet and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, 56:04.640 --> 56:08.000 according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne, 56:08.600 --> 56:12.560 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ 56:12.560 --> 56:15.400 that his soul was not left in hell, 56:15.400 --> 56:17.020 neither did his flesh see corruption. 56:17.020 --> 56:18.800 So we have a clear verse here 56:18.800 --> 56:21.680 that Jesus' soul wasn't left there. 56:21.680 --> 56:23.900 Meaning he had to descend into the lower parts of the earth, 56:23.900 --> 56:24.740 not with his body, 56:24.740 --> 56:26.120 because his body was in the tomb, 56:26.120 --> 56:27.560 and they embalmed his body, 56:27.560 --> 56:29.600 but his soul was not left in hell, 56:29.600 --> 56:30.840 and he was resting in hope 56:30.840 --> 56:32.500 that his soul wasn't gonna be left there. 56:33.600 --> 56:37.280 And Jesus was resurrected from the dead. 56:37.280 --> 56:38.600 He was not left in hell. 56:38.600 --> 56:40.360 Look at 1 Corinthians 15 verse three, 56:40.360 --> 56:42.200 1 Corinthians 15 verse three. 56:43.480 --> 56:47.200 How can Jesus say, how could he have that assurance 56:47.200 --> 56:48.560 that his soul wouldn't be left in hell 56:48.560 --> 56:50.280 if he never went to hell? 56:50.280 --> 56:52.160 How could you be taken out of a place 56:52.160 --> 56:55.320 that you've never been to, that you never had to go to? 56:55.320 --> 56:56.920 So obviously his soul wasn't left somewhere, 56:56.920 --> 56:57.960 it means he was there, 56:57.960 --> 56:59.600 and then he had to get taken out of there. 56:59.900 --> 57:04.460 1 Corinthians 15 verse 3, and it tells us what Jesus went through. 57:07.100 --> 57:08.780 And this is the gospel the Bible says, 57:08.780 --> 57:10.620 but I'm not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, 57:10.620 --> 57:12.540 but it is the power of God unto salvation 57:12.540 --> 57:14.380 to everyone that believeth, right? 57:14.380 --> 57:15.500 If we believe the gospel, 57:15.500 --> 57:18.300 that's what is God's power to save us 57:18.300 --> 57:20.600 from an eternal hell and the lake of fire. 57:21.200 --> 57:23.780 1 Corinthians 15 describes it says, 57:23.780 --> 57:26.480 for I deliver unto you first of all that which I also received, 57:26.480 --> 57:30.080 how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures and that he was buried, 57:30.080 --> 57:33.320 and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures. 57:33.320 --> 57:35.440 So after being buried, he rose again, 57:35.440 --> 57:38.960 but he had to first descend and then he rose again. 57:38.960 --> 57:42.400 He was resurrected from his soul being in hell. 57:43.600 --> 57:49.040 And the reason I'm bringing this up is because there was a person that actually I spoke to in 57:49.040 --> 57:53.360 the park, he's a Filipino man, and he asked me this question randomly. He said like, 57:53.360 --> 57:56.880 why was it just three days? Because I showed him this first. He goes, well, why is it after three 57:56.880 --> 57:59.440 days did he have to rise from the dead? 58:00.500 --> 58:05.220 And it's because I believe that at the four day mark is when our body starts to corrupt. 58:05.220 --> 58:08.740 And the Bible says there in Acts 2 that his flesh didn't see corruption. 58:08.740 --> 58:12.820 So that had to be the three day mark. Why? Why? Actually only took three days. 58:13.500 --> 58:16.380 And I found this explanation online and it says, 58:16.380 --> 58:19.420 after one's death, muscles stiffen to their peak 58:19.420 --> 58:21.020 at about 12 hours. 58:21.020 --> 58:23.580 At this point, blisters appear on internal organs 58:23.580 --> 58:28.220 and on the skin, sometimes providing a sheen on the skin. 58:28.220 --> 58:31.420 By three days, internal organs have decomposed. 58:31.420 --> 58:33.580 From three to five days after death, 58:33.580 --> 58:35.980 the body will begin to blow from gases produced 58:35.980 --> 58:37.740 from internal decomposition. 58:38.540 --> 58:39.300 So... 58:39.300 --> 58:44.100 I think this is a great answer as well for people that have this contradiction where they speak about Judas 58:44.100 --> 58:49.940 and they say, well, Judas, why is it one part say that he hung himself and one part say that he's... 58:49.940 --> 58:54.100 You don't have to turn there, but it says in Acts 1.18, it says, 58:54.100 --> 58:58.020 Now this man purchased, they filled with the reward of iniquity and falling headlong, 58:58.020 --> 59:01.620 he burst the sonder in the midst and all his bows gushed out. 59:01.620 --> 59:06.420 So I had this person out solving it, just come up to me and go, your Bible has contradictions. 59:07.100 --> 59:09.500 One part says that Judas was hung, 59:09.500 --> 59:14.180 one part says that all his bowels gushed out. 59:14.180 --> 59:16.420 And the reason I believe that is, 59:16.420 --> 59:18.780 is because once a body's dead, 59:18.780 --> 59:21.700 and if that sits there, I've even looked at it online, 59:21.700 --> 59:25.440 if a dead body falls from even a height, 59:25.440 --> 59:27.180 it's gonna burst open because of the gases 59:27.180 --> 59:28.500 that are built up in the stomach. 59:28.600 --> 59:33.160 So we see that that's a great explanation. Luke being a physician, he's able to know, 59:33.160 --> 59:38.840 okay, this is why we found him in this state. He purchased that field. Judas didn't have company 59:38.840 --> 59:42.920 when he hung himself, but when they found him, that's what they found. And I'm sure he didn't 59:42.920 --> 59:49.560 use military grade rope to hang himself. He found something to hang himself. He did it. 59:49.560 --> 59:54.440 And then when he was found, he was in that situation that he was in. And again, that's 59:54.440 --> 59:55.700 correlating to 59:56.200 --> 01:00:02.200 to what the Bible is telling us about, about three days, being dead for three days, 01:00:02.200 --> 01:00:06.680 those things don't yet happen. Let's look at John 11 verse 38, John 11 verse 38. 01:00:09.500 --> 01:00:13.620 It's a little bit of a rabbit trail that I'm going down, but I'm just trying to prove that 01:00:13.620 --> 01:00:18.220 the three-day mark, it's significant, and that's why it had to be three days. 01:00:19.200 --> 01:00:23.200 Because the Bible had to be true where the Bible says that his flesh didn't see corruption, right? 01:00:23.200 --> 01:00:27.600 So his soul wasn't left in health, neither did his flesh see corruption. 01:00:27.600 --> 01:00:32.080 So that's the flesh seeing that corruption. In John 11 verse 38 says, 01:00:32.080 --> 01:00:37.600 Jesus therefore are again groaning in himself, comeeth to the grave, and it was a cave and a stone 01:00:37.600 --> 01:00:43.840 lay upon it. And Jesus said, Take away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, said unto 01:00:43.840 --> 01:00:46.480 to him, Lord, by this time he stinketh. 01:00:46.480 --> 01:00:47.200 And then it says. 01:00:47.200 --> 01:00:51.760 here, for he hath been dead for days. So as soon as he's saying, look, it's already happened for 01:00:51.760 --> 01:00:57.280 days. And medically, we see that after the three day mark, the body already starts to decompose 01:00:57.280 --> 01:01:04.400 externally. So it starts to smell, it starts to let that odor. Acts 2 verse 31. Let's read it again. 01:02:38.680 --> 01:02:42.840 He's seeing this spake before the resurrection of Christ that his soul was not left in hell 01:02:42.920 --> 01:02:47.080 where he descended into the law past the earth. Neither his flesh did see corruption. 01:02:48.360 --> 01:02:53.960 I don't usually speak about Jesus going to hell in my presentation, but on this, you know, occasion the man asked me 01:02:53.960 --> 01:02:58.220 He's like, why was it three days? Why you know, it's an interesting comment 01:02:58.600 --> 01:03:01.320 and I got to show him Acts 2.31. 01:03:01.320 --> 01:03:03.220 And it can be something that's interesting to turn to 01:03:03.220 --> 01:03:05.800 where if you ask the majority of people, 01:03:05.800 --> 01:03:07.200 you know, where do you think Jesus went 01:03:07.200 --> 01:03:08.080 during these three days? 01:03:08.080 --> 01:03:08.920 They'll say heaven. 01:03:08.920 --> 01:03:10.280 They'll be like, I think he went to heaven. 01:03:10.280 --> 01:03:12.800 That's pretty much majority of people are gonna say that. 01:03:12.800 --> 01:03:14.360 And then they get to see, you know, ask them, 01:03:14.360 --> 01:03:18.240 where do we deserve to go for our sins in this hell? 01:03:18.240 --> 01:03:20.500 Well, the Bible tells us that Jesus actually went to hell 01:03:20.500 --> 01:03:21.920 for our sins. 01:03:21.920 --> 01:03:24.900 Matthew 12 verse 38, Matthew 12 verse 38. 01:03:26.800 --> 01:03:29.840 What other passages can we prove that Jesus went to hell? 01:03:30.560 --> 01:03:32.960 Matthew 12 verse 38 is another great passage to prove it. 01:03:35.200 --> 01:03:38.080 We see Jesus being asked for a sign and 01:03:38.300 --> 01:03:42.540 Jesus gives him said no other signs gonna be given unto you Matthew 12 s 38 says then 01:03:42.760 --> 01:03:45.700 Scent of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered saying master 01:03:45.700 --> 01:03:47.580 We would see a sign from thee 01:03:47.580 --> 01:03:50.180 But he answered and said unto them an evil and adulterous 01:03:50.620 --> 01:03:54.560 Generation seeketh out after a sign and there shall no sign be given to it 01:03:54.560 --> 01:04:00.520 But the sign of the prophet Jonas right this Jonah for as Jonas was three days and three nights in the Wales Valley 01:04:00.640 --> 01:04:03.900 So shall the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth 01:04:04.040 --> 01:04:06.180 so saying the same likeness of what 01:04:06.300 --> 01:04:08.500 Jonah would have had to go through, 01:04:08.500 --> 01:04:09.940 it's the same thing that Jesus went through. 01:04:09.940 --> 01:04:13.380 It's three days and three nights in the heart of the whale. 01:04:13.380 --> 01:04:17.020 In the same way, Jesus Christ says, 01:04:17.020 --> 01:04:19.020 three nights in the heart of the earth. 01:04:19.020 --> 01:04:20.460 The heart's the center, right? 01:04:20.460 --> 01:04:24.820 It's not the top of the crust, it's the heart of the earth. 01:04:24.820 --> 01:04:27.900 That's where Jesus had to spend three days and three nights. 01:04:31.300 --> 01:04:35.140 Let's look at Jonah 2 verse 1, Jonah 2 verse 1 in the Old Testament. 01:04:40.400 --> 01:04:43.720 You know, what did Jonah say when he was actually crying out to God? 01:04:43.720 --> 01:04:47.480 You know, that that picture of, you know, Jesus Christ being heard, 01:04:47.600 --> 01:04:50.480 the same picture of Jonah crying out to God. 01:04:50.480 --> 01:04:53.240 And where did he cry out to God from? 01:04:53.240 --> 01:04:54.960 Well, it says in Jonah two verse one. 01:04:56.400 --> 01:04:59.920 Now how can we see this picture of Jesus going to hell in the story of Jonah? 01:04:59.920 --> 01:05:02.560 That's what Jesus referred to. Jonah 2 verse 1 it says, 01:05:02.560 --> 01:05:06.400 Then Jonah prayed unto the Lord his God out of the fish's belly. 01:05:06.400 --> 01:05:10.000 Right, again the heart, the belly. Was it just in the mouth of the whale? 01:05:10.000 --> 01:05:11.500 It was in the belly of the whale. 01:05:14.600 --> 01:05:21.160 says in verse two, and said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the Lord and he heard me 01:05:21.160 --> 01:05:27.880 out of the belly of hell, cried I and thou heardest my voice. You know, this is something 01:05:27.880 --> 01:05:32.760 significant here. Bible tells us it's the belly of hell. It's telling us, you know, 01:05:32.760 --> 01:05:37.160 that his soul wasn't left in hell. Jonas is going through something that would represent what Jesus 01:05:37.160 --> 01:05:39.240 would suffer for us. Verse three. 01:05:40.600 --> 01:05:42.920 For thou hadst cast me into the deep. 01:05:42.920 --> 01:05:45.240 This is showing that it's not just necessarily 01:05:45.240 --> 01:05:46.740 that the death that Jesus suffered, 01:05:46.740 --> 01:05:48.940 but also that three days and three nights 01:05:48.940 --> 01:05:50.400 that he had to endure for us. 01:05:50.400 --> 01:05:52.240 Verse three says, for thou hast cast me into the deep 01:05:52.240 --> 01:05:53.440 in the midst of the sea, 01:05:53.440 --> 01:05:56.880 and the floods compass me about all thy billows. 01:05:57.000 --> 01:06:00.400 And all thy billows and thy waves passed over me. 01:06:00.400 --> 01:06:02.520 Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight. 01:06:02.520 --> 01:06:05.320 Yet will I look again towards thy holy temple. 01:06:05.320 --> 01:06:08.340 The waters compass me about even to the soul." 01:06:08.340 --> 01:06:10.320 Right, so what's happening to Jonah. 01:06:11.200 --> 01:06:15.280 The depths closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head. 01:06:15.280 --> 01:06:17.440 So explaining what he's enduring. 01:06:17.440 --> 01:06:19.920 I went down to the bottom of the mountains. 01:06:19.920 --> 01:06:23.280 Again, just showing it's the heart of the earth, the depth, 01:06:23.280 --> 01:06:25.680 what Jesus Christ is going to endure. 01:06:25.680 --> 01:06:28.400 The earth with her bars was about me forever. 01:06:28.400 --> 01:06:31.040 It's like it's just something that just seems like an eternal thing. 01:06:31.840 --> 01:06:35.120 Yet thou has brought up my life from corruption, O Lord my God. 01:06:36.400 --> 01:06:38.960 So it wasn't heaven where Jesus was going during that time. 01:06:38.960 --> 01:06:41.520 You see that Jesus is telling him, you know, what's the sign? 01:06:41.520 --> 01:06:43.280 It's exactly what Jonas went through. 01:06:44.240 --> 01:06:48.240 So it must the son of a man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. 01:06:48.240 --> 01:06:49.120 That's the picture. 01:06:49.120 --> 01:06:53.760 And you know, Jonas, Jonah didn't have a comfortable time when he was in that whale's belly. 01:06:53.760 --> 01:06:55.200 It's was horrible. 01:06:58.200 --> 01:07:02.440 Genesis 22 verse 1, Genesis 22 verse 1. Another great picture that I believe is 01:07:02.440 --> 01:07:07.800 picturing Jesus Christ going to hell and that's pretty much the last part we're going to be turning to. 01:07:10.100 --> 01:07:13.620 People can't really fathom why would Jesus have to endure this. 01:07:13.620 --> 01:07:18.260 No, but that's what makes that's why when we say salvation is by Jesus Christ alone, 01:07:18.820 --> 01:07:22.740 we're actually signifying how great a salvation you know that's why it says if we 01:07:23.460 --> 01:07:26.660 how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation. 01:07:26.660 --> 01:07:30.820 What Jesus Christ actually went through for us, it's not a small thing it's not just like oh yeah 01:07:30.820 --> 01:07:34.900 we're just believing in Jesus look what he did for us so we wouldn't have to go to hell. 01:07:34.900 --> 01:07:35.620 It's a big deal. 01:07:37.000 --> 01:07:38.800 Genesis 22 verse 1. 01:07:41.700 --> 01:07:44.060 And it came to pass after these things that God 01:07:44.060 --> 01:07:46.500 did tempt Abraham and said unto him, Abraham, 01:07:46.500 --> 01:07:48.460 and he said, behold, here am I. 01:07:48.460 --> 01:07:52.020 And he said, take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, 01:07:52.020 --> 01:07:55.580 whom thou lovest and give thee into the land of Moriah 01:07:55.580 --> 01:07:58.340 and offer him there for a burnt offering 01:07:58.340 --> 01:08:01.380 upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee thereof. 01:08:02.580 --> 01:08:04.600 So he's asked here to bring Isaac. 01:08:05.800 --> 01:08:07.720 and to offer him as a burnt offering. 01:08:07.720 --> 01:08:10.000 So this is again, just another picture of something 01:08:10.000 --> 01:08:15.000 that's not just necessarily just him having to kill Isaac, 01:08:15.200 --> 01:08:17.240 but it's actually gonna end up being a burnt offering. 01:08:17.240 --> 01:08:18.320 Verse three, 01:08:18.320 --> 01:08:20.200 and Abraham rose up early in the morning 01:08:20.200 --> 01:08:23.560 and saddled his ass and took two of his young men with him 01:08:23.560 --> 01:08:26.560 and Isaac his son and clave the wood for the burnt offering. 01:08:26.560 --> 01:08:28.320 And you're thinking why a burnt offering 01:08:28.320 --> 01:08:29.600 isn't just a sacrifice, 01:08:29.600 --> 01:08:31.440 I'm not gonna just sacrifice my son. 01:08:31.440 --> 01:08:33.000 It's no, there's a picture of. 01:08:33.200 --> 01:08:37.600 the sun dying and then the sun having to be put alight and being burnt as well. 01:08:40.600 --> 01:08:44.040 and rose up and went unto the place which God told him. Verse 4, 01:08:44.040 --> 01:08:48.280 Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes and saw the place afar off, 01:08:48.280 --> 01:08:55.160 and Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass, and the lad will go yonder 01:08:55.160 --> 01:09:00.280 and worship and come again to you. And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it upon 01:09:00.280 --> 01:09:06.520 Isaac his son, and he took the fire in his hand and the knife, and they went both to them together. 01:09:07.700 --> 01:09:11.460 So there's wood and you see that Isaac has to carry that wood, puts it on his back, 01:09:11.460 --> 01:09:14.980 again, you know, resembling Jesus Christ carrying the cross for us. 01:09:15.700 --> 01:09:19.620 Then there's also fire as well, take the fire as well with them, you know, and then there's also 01:09:19.620 --> 01:09:23.940 the knife, you know, something that knife that's going to shed blood, you can't, you can't kill 01:09:23.940 --> 01:09:28.340 someone with a knife without blood being shed. And it's obviously, you know, the Bible says that, 01:09:28.340 --> 01:09:31.940 unto him that loved us and washed us from our sins in his own blood. So that's 01:09:31.940 --> 01:09:34.100 picturing the shed blood of Jesus Christ for us as well. 01:09:36.000 --> 01:09:39.760 In verse seven it says, and Isaac spake unto his father and said, My father and he said, 01:09:39.760 --> 01:09:45.120 Here am I at my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood, but where is the lamb for a burnt 01:09:45.120 --> 01:09:49.680 offering? So we've got the cross, you know, there is howled as the fire, but where's the lamb? 01:09:49.680 --> 01:09:55.520 Who's gonna, who's gonna put these together? And we see in verse eight, Abraham said, My son, 01:09:55.520 --> 01:09:58.880 God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering. 01:09:59.400 --> 01:10:03.640 and they went both of them together. So he's saying look God's gonna do this, God's gonna 01:10:03.640 --> 01:10:08.120 provide himself a lamb and that's exactly what happened. You know God was manifest in the flesh 01:10:08.120 --> 01:10:11.800 and the lamb of God which taketh away the sins of the world, he came to this earth, 01:10:11.800 --> 01:10:16.840 he provided himself a lamb, he was that spotless lamb, no blemish, had no sin, 01:10:16.840 --> 01:10:20.520 Pilot couldn't find anything in him. He was tested. Then he was 01:10:20.800 --> 01:10:28.000 crucified, he bled for us and then guess what happened after that? He went to hell for us. He was a burnt offering. 01:10:30.300 --> 01:10:39.600 Verse 9, verse 9. So it was not only to die, it was not only that he should have slain Isaac with a knife and then Isaac would die, right? 01:10:39.600 --> 01:10:47.000 From blood loss, everything, but then also put him on a light, light him on fire. That's what God requested and asked him to do. 01:10:47.000 --> 01:10:57.300 Verse 9, and they came to the place which God had told him of and Abraham built an altar there and laid the wood in order and bound Isaac his son. 01:10:57.900 --> 01:11:03.180 and laid him on the altar upon the wood. And Abraham stretched forth his hand and took the 01:11:03.180 --> 01:11:10.140 knife to slay his son. Verse 13, 01:11:56.880 --> 01:12:01.680 And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked and behold, behind him a ram caught in the thicket 01:12:01.680 --> 01:12:06.720 by his thorns. And Abraham went and took the ram and offered him for a burnt offering in the stead 01:12:06.720 --> 01:12:11.520 of his son. So we see here that there was an offering provided, there was something else, 01:12:11.520 --> 01:12:17.280 there was something else that was a substitute for, for, for, you know, us mankind's Jesus Christ 01:12:17.280 --> 01:12:18.600 provided himself. 01:12:19.100 --> 01:12:25.500 And God provided that burnt sacrifice for Abraham. He still had to go through with it, but he didn't have to, you know, die himself. 01:12:26.380 --> 01:12:30.300 You know, what an amazing picture of what Jesus would have to go through. You know, that same thing. 01:12:30.940 --> 01:12:34.140 He would have had to take that ram on the, you know, ram is just again, 01:12:34.540 --> 01:12:38.140 even though people say, well, why, what was in the lamb? But Jesus became sin for us. 01:12:38.220 --> 01:12:44.720 You know, Jesus resembles that brass serpent. Jesus can resemble things that are sinful as well, because he took upon himself the sins of the whole world. 01:12:48.000 --> 01:12:51.440 You know, Jesus carries the cross on his back and we see 01:12:51.800 --> 01:12:59.800 We see that the person that carried the cross on his back was the one that was meant to be sacrificed as well. 01:12:59.800 --> 01:13:06.800 We see Jesus Christ carrying that wood on his back, being sacrificed, and he says that Abraham brings the knife to slay him. 01:13:06.800 --> 01:13:11.800 So again, like I said, he would have bled and he would have been set on fire to be a light, to be a burnt sacrifice. 01:13:11.800 --> 01:13:17.500 Jesus had to experience this for us. And obviously Isaac was innocent.
